I wish that people gave a shit about nonbinary people who don’t use they/them pronouns. You can literally give your friend group (which includes another nonbinary person) a list of your favorite pronouns, none of which include they/them, and mention several times that you don’t like they/them pronouns for yourself, but they’ll make the switch from she/her pronouns to…they/them. And feel super proud of themselves for being sooo progressive as to use they/them pronouns for you….when those aren’t your pronouns.
I think that saying “he she and they are my least favorite but are fine in combination with other things…I’m really fine with any neos but here’s a list of my faves that you can choose from!” Is polite and not a difficult request. I’m not good at being a pushy person, and I shouldn’t need to be.

I think many people cognitively understand that retributive justice is often ineffective and simply violent, but they don't want to rid themselves of the almost collective anger mindset that permits this kind of justice to remain in place, even socially. In short, the mindset still treats people as though they must be punished as severely as possible, and when one is wronged, the mindset goes to how violence can be used, which is not inherently the same as righting wrongs.
Justice is complex, and it's messy. That's why it's so important not to treat it simplisticly with only one solution.

Woe, angst be upon yee
Think about this plot for more than a minute and it'll start to fall apart probably but just uhhh please don't think about it too much😞🙏
So Sosu has been frozen for over 210 years, they came from a world that wasn't as irradiated as the Commonwealth is currently, so, why not give them radiation poisoning?
They feel fine when they first step out but even still, they can just feel things are different, everything, even the air, feels contamimated. Over the many years, most of the radiation has disappeared, people of the Commonwealth have grown a tolerance to the low amount of radiation that still persists, but Sosu being completely new to this world has no such tolerance and even with a radiation suit slowing the process, the poisoning still seeps into them, slowly starting to kill them. At first it's barely noticeable but the closer they get to their goal, the weaker they seem to get.
First true problem presents itself, the Dimly-lit desert- I mean the Glowing Sea. Even with the power armor taking most of the radiation, by the time they get to the insitute, they're severely ill. The fatigue, the effects of the radiation, it's all obvious. Despite never knowing them it pains the Father to see them in such a way, perhaps it was cruel to let them out of their frozen prison.
Nonetheless the institute is smart, has people to deal with what radaway can't heal, and so with time Sosu is cured but it's made clear to them; any trips to Commonwealth are risky, simply put their body can't handle the radiation.
Obviously there are companions that want the Institute destroyed, but I wonder how they'd react to this? Going off of the assumption that they're close to Sosu, just how willing would they be to write their death sentence by demanding them to destroy the only thing that can help them stay alive? The thing that'd let the companion keep their close friend, maybe their lover, alive? How willing would they be to sacrifice the person whose been there for them this entire time, despite Sosu having their own struggles to deal with?
And with X6? Oh with X6 just think about it. Time passes and he's, dare he say, attached to the future leader. Slowly, without his notice, he's started to truly care. How would he take it, hearing other companions, or faction leaders, demand that Sosu does the "right thing" and destroy the Institute, destroy the only place where they can roam free without a hazmat suit, without having to worry about radiation?
He'd be kinda angry about it I think

Thank you
For making me feel alive again
For making me believe in myself again
For making me have passion again
For saving me
There's no words out there that can describe how I feel without me sounding cheesy and corny, but you have no idea how much you helped me rediscover myself. I wish there were more times when I could see you. Maybe one day.. we could do it all again
Thank you so much for that day of January 8th, 2023

Pom of Peace | Rainbow Hamsa
In Jewish culture, pomegranates traditionally symbolize fertility and love, and are often said to have 613 seeds, one for each mitzvah. They are a common theme in Jewish art and are often mentioned in Jewish texts.
The hamsa is a symbol of luck and protection shared by many cultures with middle eastern roots. It has been interpreted as a Jewish, Christian, Islamic, and Pagan symbol. In Judaism in particular, it is sometimes referred to as the hand of Miriam, and has been very popular with Sephardic Jews.

Older games often require fixes to be playable and it can be a bit tedious to research and install properly, but it kinda adds to the experience. They’re broken in so many unique ways lol
This game will make your spaceship spin uncontrollably when you load in and you have to tab out to fix it. The space station is invisible so you have to download a texture fix, but i thought i was supposed to struggle to see shit bc it’s in some space fog. High framerate will make the objects in the game act like they’re possessed by the devil bc of their physics, but locked framemate fucks up mouse sensitivity. This game won’t launch and the popup window says “steam must be running to play this game” when i try to launch it directly from steam... Absolutely insane stuff!!! Hilarious when you think about it
Also it’s cool to know there’s ppl out there who care about preserving those games, to keep em playable and improve the experience with all those fixes and mods you can download and install, even if it can be complicated sometimes. I really appreciate that, especially for more obscure games

Just scrolling through your posts and seeing you mention that some anon had requested some super angsty Leo fic.
Quick question cuz Leo-angst is something I'm a bit obsessed with: D'you think that the angsty Leo fic would come before or after Leo and Jon's wedding??
Hi anon!
I'm not a 100% on it, the request was quite plotty and would require my mental health to be in a good place, but ideally this would take place before the wedding, as they're wedding planning.
The original plan was to have the request happen while Jonah is away in his trip, but I'm tweaking things there and I don't know for how much of it Jonah's gonna be present.

blood supremacy in harry potter is at a crossroads between xenophobia/racism (not as we understand it), ableism and classism but with jkr having no in depth of understanding of these issues, it really ends up in a sort of twilight zones where power dynamics are incomprehensible. and considering power dynamics have everything to do with discrimination, it's really frustrating
(i'd mention speciesism for the way centaurs, house elves etc are treated but that's a common problem in fantasy. besides, the parallels between centaurs and secluded indigenous communities + house elves and chattel slavery are so fucked up i think analysing it is just gonna make me mad. she should have never touched that with a ten foot pole)
wizard-raised magicals are both the minority according to the subtext (witch burnings, smaller population, inability to blend in, need for their locations to remain hidden) with muggles being their dominant counterpart and the majority because they essentially hold the power to fight back on a higher level than muggles do. hence the xenophobia/racism parallel, which is incomprehensible because of the way the lines between oppressor and oppressed are blurred. she also tried to make it a parallel to antisemitism but talking about that is not my place i think. from what i said before i'd imagine the problem with that is kind of obvious, i mean, the subtext alone, yikes.
the pureblood-muggleborn relationship looks more like a classism thing, especially with the subtext of purebloods being wealthy and having status (+the whole blue blood idea is kinda obvious) and this idea of muggleborns being sort of upstarts encroaching on this "higher society" and introducing their commoner ways. more straight-forward than the former but even there lines are weirded out by the way muggle things really do seem to replace stuff that could be read as parts of wizard culture. muggle holidays are fic writers' favourite example of that and for good reason. how does celebrating halloween make sense? and christmas? the yule ball kind of indicates some awareness of pagan holidays and everyone swears by merlin, i doubt wizards are christian. it mostly stems from jkr thinking of worldbuilding as aesthetic rather than foundation but it really implies weird stuff about how all of those muggle things came to be introduced
the ableism discussion is the only one that has clear and delimited power dynamics but it's pretty obvious it's not done on purpose. here, squibs and muggles are clearly considered less than wizards. i'll admitmy first thought about it was like "duh? i'd rather have magic than not" then i kinda slapped myself because that is not the issue there. of course it's better to be able to do something than not. i wish i didn't have worms for brains and a high chance to inherit my mom's chronic illness. the problem is that not being abled doesn't make you less and yet, that's pretty much never argued in HP. just look at the way filch is treated. at best he is pitied, at worst mocked and scorned. it's really nasty
anyways, listing everything that's wrong in the books would take hours but i have a google docs titled "unhinged ramblings on the nature of blood supremacy in harry potter" so i thought i'd at least share the sparksnotes before deleting it
