54. Mickey’s mom is alive

56. Ian is close to Clayton

So I had to do a lot of thinking on this one. Ultimately, what I came up with is this: An AU where Monica and Clayton’s affair was exposed very early on and in response, Clayton decided to gain custody of Ian as a baby. (I know the idea of Ian not growing up with the other Gallagher siblings hurts but hear me out).

So Clayton raises Ian on the richy north side. And on the surface, Ian’s life is pretty great. He loves his father, his half-siblings, and even his stepmother treats him like one of her own despite the messiness of how he was conceived. But deep down, Ian grows up thinking there’s something different about him…like he doesn’t quite fit in with the very normal (and kind of boring) lifestyle that his family leads. He knows about Monica’s existence and that he has half siblings that live on the south side, but Clayton is pretty cagey with details about Monica and keeps Ian sheltered from that side of his family. But that doesn’t stop Ian from being curious about it.

Everything comes into a head when a new family moves in across the street from them when Ian is around fourteen.

Laura Milkovich returns to Chicago when Mickey and Mandy are around sixteen and fourteen respectively. (I have a HC that Mickey and Mandy are full siblings that look like their mother with their dark hair/blue eye coloring while the rest of the Milkoviches had a different mother). Finally clean from having completed years of rehab and now happily engaged to a wealthy man. Using her fiancé’s money, she fights to obtain an official divorce from Terry and to gain custody of Mickey and Mandy, eventually succeeding. She and her fiancé marry and move with Mickey and Mandy to the north side.

Mickey and Mandy’s relationship with Laura is initially complicated. They still resent her for leaving them with Terry for as long as she did. And they now feel like fish out of water in this new north side life she’s put them in. As fucked up as it was, they miss the south side in a way because it was all they knew.

And then they meet the kid across the street.

Mickey, Mandy, and Ian surprisingly become fast friends. There’s something rough and adventurous about Ian that makes him more fun for Mickey and Mandy to be around than any of the other yuppies in their north side neighborhood. And Mickey and Mandy represent the excitement that Ian has always secretly longed for. They go on misadventures together and grow closer. (Ian and Mickey obviously eventually realizing that their feelings for each other aren’t just platonic). Mickey and Mandy eventually help Ian sneak out and finally meet the other Gallaghers. Ian helps Mickey and Mandy grow to understand Laura better (and that she was a victim of Terry in her own way too). Along with the Gallavich romance, there’d also be a lot of family and friendship angst and exploration in this idea.

About hair…

TIG’s best hair is in Crackerjack in my opinion, bar none. He looked so handsome there with that floppy cut it’s not even funny. Also really loved the shorter, salt n’ pepper look in that movie where he goes to Poland or something (and he’s a cop). Super handsome and also distinguished! I have mixed feels about the Excessive Force hair (not a fan of mullets, but TIG’s such a looker so…). Also liked his hair in Escape from Alaska and silver fox look in The Kidnapping/Black Friday.

Might be an unpopular hot take, but my all time favorite “Daniel” look is in Cuba and His Teddy Bear as Teddy. What a total doll, the messy, shaggy hair just WORKS for him because it frames his face and brings out how very pretty he really is, how dark and expressive his eyes are. Another hot take—the Naked in New York haircut only looks good from certain angles. From the front it looks not so good, and sets weird, though from the side/profile it looks great.

That is a a good choice - crackerjack and I think Black Friday is my fav Silver Fox Look 🤔

I like Behind Enemy Lines and Beyond Forgiveness really deserves more love than it gets.

Ulterior Motives - but I think that’s just adorable because it’s his wife as his costar.

Hollow Point - Max Parish is a good look.

Valek - love him but that’s just the vampire vibes more than anything and the character itself - love Valek.

I do love Ralph in NINY but I can appreciate those feelings about it.

Tragically I like him in Too Much Son 😬

Cuban and his Teddy Bear is what I picture when I think ABO Daniel in heat - it’s the sweaty hair and skin, flushed face and crazy eyes - screams omega in heat.

Happily Divorced Ralph - hot damn - he deserves all the love.

The Deuce Officer Haddix really really needs more love - something about him as a crooked detective - and him at the PREMIERE FOR THAT 🥵

Daniel giving his 🍑 up - and of course, after a while, well, “I don’t like you working such a dangerous job, sweetheart,” which is funny - the target he has on his back since becoming Terry’s side piece is much bigger ….. but there is something 🥵 about older Daniel becoming some kept, pretty thing on Terry’s arm - getting through life on Terry’s dime by the spread of his thighs.

In terms of KK and CK, who is more emotionally mature, Daniel or Terry?

Leaving aside Karate Kid because Daniel is a teenager with extremely repressed grief over his father, the way he pledges himself to Mr. Miyagi, and Terry is a cokehead with ptsd, by CK most of the time they're reasonably well attuned to what modern life wants from two adult men. Terry is right in telling Kreese that he has to stop being petty about so called slights of Miyagi's - the same Miyagi who publicly humiliated them both - and to show restraint. That's pretty mature, as is funelling your excess energy into music and art and wine tasting. Daniel is a good boss and a loving family man if he has trouble parenting his son. Why I love both of them so much is that at their core, they are far more passionate than protestant white culture allows. They're neither of them protestant, I think they'd choke - and I feel quite at ease in both Ireland and Italy myself because people are less likely to tell me not to feel so much. Both Terry and Daniel are very passionate souls and I think they find that attractive in the other. They're also both fascinated by two cultures that are extremely restrictive when it comes to openly showing passion - Korea and Japan. Maybe because that's so ritualised that it's easier to handle; US culture simply randomly calls "Stop!" and you don't know how much emotion is allowed. But Daniel and Terry can match each other in how deeply they feel, that's why they're so explosive.

Now Terry enjoys hurting others, maybe in a perverse bid for connection - he feels that pain is such an integral part of him that anyone he loves needs to share that experience and he'll hurt them himself if he needs to. That or he's always been a sadist, war or no. We don't know but it didn't help, did it? He's aware enough not to inflict any more pain on others because that is simply not appropriate. Maybe he watches pro wrestling to get a fix, maybe he's found an alternative lifestyle with safewords and all, I couldn't say. But he knows 95% of the time it's Not Done and he refrains. That's also quite well adjusted if it is restrictive.

Daniel has also conformed quite strongly. Toned down his accent, his mannerisms, his hairstyle (Ralph is much more expressive!), not much ranting prior to S5. So they both have quite a good sense of how to be a socially acceptable adult and they both have enough wisdom to act like it - moreso than Kreese and Johnny, in my view. But do they know how to throw that out of the window when faced with each other! Daniel could kill a man. He constantly refers to that in film 2 and 3 - "why didn't you kill him? I wish you could have killed him." Of course he'll enter a death match. He always takes on things that are too big for him, and he has a masochistic streak. Terry is right, he likes it! If those two had met without the mind games - omg. It wouldn't have been appropriate to us but they could have made quite the scandalous society couple! They feed a need in each other their country has no place for. That's what makes them so potent. They both know perfectly well how to do Well Adjusted Adult, but they see each other for who and what they are in their dark underbelly.

I feel like Damiko is a good couple because he spurs her on and she calms him down a little, being around each other. Silverusso is interesting because they compliment each other in their dark side and blow each other up. They may be exhausting to be friends with but Terry would really have gone to conquer the world for Daniel. "Baby, I've bought you Guam." "Oh, you shouldn't have." "Anything for y-" "No Terry listen I don't think you should have done that."

Could you maybe do one about CK Terry? Your the sister or cousin of Daniel and you choose not to get involved in his karate business, and your both not very close anyway but just happen to live close to eachother. But one night your leaving work and get attacked by 3 armed thugs. You nearly pass out from the pain before you see Terry come to your aid and beat the living daylights out of them. He even carries you to the hospital where he watches over you. When Daniel finds out about it, your unconscious in the hospital bed and Terry is by your side. They argue and Terry ends up telling Daniel he should have protected her, and now because he couldn't, Terry now would, because Terry had secretly been in love with you? Thank you x

"Well you shouldn't be so ungrateful when a gentleman offers his company." the other man said and before I knew it he hit me in the stomach. I gasped for air and the pain was horrible. "I don't want to do this, but it seems I have to teach you a lesson missy." another punch this time right in my face. "Take your fucking hands of her." I knew this voice it was Terry. The man let go of me and I fell to the ground. "Or what? What do you want to do about it grandpa?" I heard the man laugh. Then fighting noises and screams where heard. I felt dizzy and tired. "Hey, hey Y/N stay awake please. You're safe now. I take you to the hospital but please stay awake." I wanted to say something, answer him but I couldn't bring a word out. I felt him lift me up bridal style and then everything went black. Terry carried me to the nearby hospital and as soon as I got checked up and brought to my room,he never left my side. Sitting beside me, holding my hand softly stroking it with his thumb. "What are you doing here?" came Daniel's voice from the door. " Oh could you finally find some time to visit your cousin? Look at her Daniel, you should have been the one who protected her but no, she was all alone in the parking lot, getting beaten up by those men. If I hadn't been there god knows what would have happened.You want to know what I'm doing here? I saved her and I won't leave her side till she's awake. " " I don't need you to protect my family Silver. " Terry had enough" I give a shit about what you need or not. She needed you and you weren't there. I will make sure that no one will ever lay a hand on her again that's a promise. Even if I have to risk my life. " Daniel just looked at him with an angry expression, then he turned to leave. Terry sat next to my bed again" Don't worry sweetheart. I'm here for you and I always will be. "

Danny Boy

It had been a stupid fight. Daniel knew that. He’d known that as soon as he stormed out of Terry’s home office that morning, slamming the door behind him.

They actually hardly ever fought. They bickered playfully day in and day out, but genuine arguments were rare. When they did argue, Daniel could say without guile that it was usually Terry’s fault, and, to his credit, over the years his husband had gotten better at apologizing.

This time though the blame lay with both of them, each baiting the other until a trivial issue had been blown out of proportion. Daniel could just as easily be the one to say sorry first, but instead he was digging his heels in like a sulky toddler. They’d barely said two words to each other all through dinner and Daniel had gone to bed early after. And now he was laying in their king sized bed all alone, stewing in his misery and blinking back angry tears.

He'd been laying there in the dark for about half an hour, too upset to sleep and too upset to do anything else, when he heard the door click open. He wasn’t looking, lying on his side facing the windows, but he knew who it was. He heard Terry’s footsteps tap tap tapping into the ensuite bathroom. In his peripheral vision the bathroom light clicked on; he heard water running into the sink.

Eventually the light went out and footsteps approached the bed. The covers shifted and the mattress dipped beside him. It was quiet. And then – humming. Daniel quickly recognized the tune as the humming turned to singing.

“Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling…From glen to glen, and down the mountainside…”

Daniel rolled his eyes, fighting back a smile. Seriously?

“The summer’s gone, and all the roses dying…’Tis you, ‘tis you, must go and I must bide…”

There was movement beside him. Daniel felt the warmth of Terry’s body pressed along his back.

“But come ye back, when summer’s in the meadow…Or all the valley’s hushed and white with snow…It’s I’ll be here, in sunshine or in shadow…”

An arm came around Daniel’s waist, and Terry’s nose pressed in behind his ear.

“Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so…”

All the awful twisted up feelings in Daniel’s gut melted away. He was properly crying now. Turning over in Terry’s hold, he found his husband looking at him with a softness that Daniel could discern even in the dark of the bedroom.

Daniel put a hand up to stroke his husband’s cheek. “Terry…”

The corner of Terry’s mouth turned up in a rueful half-smile. “I know.”

That seemed to be good enough for both of them. Daniel grabbed the front of Terry’s undershirt and pulled him into a fervent kiss.

They had a whole day to make up for after all.

Started a new farm. I'm on year three, just puttering along at things, no big hurry. Question, though - did they change the spawn rate on mushroom trees, or do they spawn more often on a 4 Corners farm? I've had one spawn every year so far, and I've never seen a single one on any of my other farms, not even my first farm that I've been playing for 17 in-game years. Also, these dang mushroom trees have been spawning in the worst spots. Wish you could get seeds out of them when you chop them down, so I could move them somewhere more useful.

Summary: After learning about what happened at Kreese's dojo, you go to bring Robby back.

"We've got an all-valley to win." Johnny states loudly, which causes Miguel to nod beside you.

"If one of you don't win, we're all done for," Daniel states solemnly before continuing on, "We need to train our hardest if we're gonna beat Cobra Kai. Especially now that Kreese has his fangs in Robby..."

"What?" You question softly, turning to look at Miguel, but he avoids your gaze and stares down at his sneakers instead.

"Y/n-" Daniel starts, and in anger you cut him off.

"-How can you just leave him there with that that psycho??" You question him angrily, and before he can say anything you storm off, climbing into your car.

You would just have to bring back Robby yourself then.

You absentmindedly take notice of one of the front windows being replaced as you yank open one of the front doors.

Glancing around, your eyes immediately land on Robby who was in the corner of the dojo, and very aggressively practicing his punches on a dummy.

You'd never seen him like this.. So angry? Or maybe it's fear?..

"Excuse me," Kreese rasps from the opposite side of the room near the office. "What do you think you're doing here, miss?"

"I'm here to get my.. friend back, asshole." You snap at him despite the intense glare he wore aimmed at you.

"Y/n?" Robby now questions, and finally turns around to face you. You can't help but notice as his face softens while looking at you.

"Come on, Robby. Let's get you out of here." You say quietly as you move to hold his hand in yours.

"Mister Keene here isn't going anywhere with you." A different voice- a deep, dark voice- chuckles from the doorway of the office.

That's when you see the infamous Terry Silver. It was obvious enough with the unusual ponytail thing he had going on.

"I think Robby can decide for himself." You state and send a glare Silver's way before turning back to face Robby. "Robby, listen to me, Mr. LaRusso told me about these guys- they're terrible-"

"-Mr. LaRusso is a liar-" Robby starts, but Silver cuts him off.

"-Oh wow, you know who I am. I feel famous, John." Silver practically snickers, "Good to know that I still haunt Danny boy."

But then his gaze narrows onto you. "You must be Mister Keene's precious little miss Y/n. He's told us all about you."

You shift nervously under Silver's intense gaze, and Robby's hand lands onto the small of you back.

Were you and Robby were close friends, sure. Did you have a crush on Robby, sure.

But you weren't his- although you didn't necessarily mind the thought-

"-Y/n, you should train with me here, I've already learned so much and I know you could too." Robby tells you gently, and moves in front of you to tell you face-to-face. "Please?"

Robby's hands reach up, and gently cupping your face in them, his thumbs brushing along the apple of your cheeks.

"Please?" He repeats softer this time, as his endearing green eyes peering into yours.

And before your really realized what you were doing- you were nodding silently in agreement.

Chapter 19 - Always the Bridesmaid.

As soon as she read the words she knew who had done this "The flat is all clear" Harry says as Laila just stares at the words on the wall "It was Vicky" she says without looking away. "Are you sure?" he questions her, Laila nods "She's done something like this before when I've given Zeppy advice to stay away from her while she's using in the past. So, she completely smashed up my car"

18 Years ago.

"Nate, you know everyone says she's a druggy right?" this wasn't the reaction he wanted when he told his family about Vic "Laila, she is done with all that!" he hisses at her "Whatever...it's your life!" she gets up off the sofa and heads back to her bedroom. Nate was only 16 and Vic was 2 years older, Terry and Liz didn't care about the age gap as they were the same age when they got together, but it was more the rumours they had heard about her half the time she's high and the other half she's trying to get money to score.

As much as they didn't like her, Terry and Liz knew if they expressed their concerns, this will just push him away and towards her. All they could do is be there for him, they didn't have to worry. 4 months into the relationship the day before Laila's 14 birthday, Vicky just disappeared for two years when she finally turned up she told him about Zeppy. Hoping that he would stump up maintenance for her, but a trainee mechanic didn't make that much. Nate had learned not to give her money for anything, so if Zeppy needed something he would go out and buy it for her himself.

When she reached 12 years old, Vicky relapsed again, Nate had lost count of how many times she had gone back to the gear. Vicky had ended up in hospital again, Nate was working so he had asked Laila to take her to see Vic. When they arrived Vicky was asleep, although she was only 4 years older than Laila, looked twice her age. Zeppy was in tears "Hey, she'll be OK! She always is!" Laila tried to comfort her.

Hearing Zeppy's voice she stirred but kept her eyes shut "Aunt Laila, sometimes I wish she wasn't! I wish she wasn't OK.....I can't keep going through this!" Zeppy sobbed "I get that...I do! Sometimes, you can only take so much before you start to wonder if you would be better off without them or keep putting yourself through it"

This angered Vicky.

3 Days later.

She discharged herself from hospital and caught the tube to Laila's work. She saw her car parked up, she took off her heeled boots and smashed every window, pulling out her house key she scraped it across the shiny black paint work before smashing in her headlights. With the alarm going off Laila and Daniel rushed outside, but the damaged had been done.

Vicky got 6 months in prison for criminal damage.

Nate felt so much guilt that he decided he would worked on her car until it looked like new but Terry and Grandad Carelli couldn't let him do it alone, so they got involved too.

That was Vicky's first attack on Laila...

Present day.

Harry didn't want her staying at the flat just in case, Vicky came back no matter how much Laila protested "Harry, I'll be fine here! The next day.

Harry is in the shower, while Laila is cooking them breakfast "Alexa play Harry's playlist" she calls out. Raye - Love of Your Life starts playing, Laila starts swaying her hips and sings along.

Harry stops in the doorway admiring the view, she hadn't noticed him and continues singing. He watches her hip roll and booty pop. He's almost convinced she knows he's there, so she's moving like this to get a reaction out of him. Which by how tight his boxers have gone she had gotten one.

She cuts herself off when he startles her by wrapping his arms around her from behind "Why does that song seem like it was made for you?" He asks before placing a soft kiss against her neck "Maybe because my legs are normally wrapped around ya waist?" she laughs, "That or the love of you life bit" he nips her ear.

He kisses her neck again "Harry, I'm trying to cook breakfast," he leans forward moving the pan off the heated ring "I'm hungry for....!" he spins her round to face him before lifting her and placing her on the kitchen counter. His lips crash to hers, his hands slip under his t-shirt she's wearing, grasping the waistband of her underwear and pulling them down until their a puddle on the floor.

The pads of his fingers parts her folds, the kiss became more intense, she moans against his lips. She's ready for him, she pushes down his boxers springing him free, she lines him up against her apex. With one swift movement, he thrusts into her, he groans as he grips her arse pulling her forward. She grips his shoulders, his thumb brushes over her nipple making her moan.

A few hours later.

"....I found her washing the kittens in the toilet" Mrs. Hoges tells Laila stories of her 6 year old granddaughter in her southern American accent while she's cutting her hair "No!! How old were they?"

"5 maybe 6 weeks...I shouldn't laugh but it was quite funny"

As she finishes up, she hears her phone buzz.

She loves her friends, but they worry too much, Laila believes if Vicky wanted to hurt her she would.

15 Minutes later...

Laila calls in her next client Miss. Ferguson in "Hey! How are you?" she greets her "G'day, I'm great thanks, you?" She says in her rich Australian accent, Laila nods "So what are we doing today?" Laila throws the gown over her "I'm thinking chocolate brown highlights" Laila nods tearing the foil strips.

At the corner of her eye, she notices someone lean against the wall to her right, she glances over and rolls her eyes as she makes her way over "Harry, what are you doing here?"

"Don't worry Daniel said it was fine.... considering" he seems worried "As much I love you worrying over me...I will be fine" she can see he has no plans on leaving her anytime soon "But seems you aren't going anywhere make yourself useful and pass me those foils when I ask" they make their way back over to Miss. Ferguson.

Once her foils are done, Laila gets Harry to take her to the sinks and wash her hair "I..don't know how to wash women's hair," he whispers to Laila, who laughs "Dude! Come on, it's not that difficult! You know how to wash your hair just wash it how you would yours but we give them a head massage when you do the conditioner" she winks leaving him to it.

At the end of her shift, "Did you have fun being my trainee?" he looks over to her, she had made him do 5 washes, made endless amount of teas and coffees and sweep up hair "I have no idea how you do this everyday my hands are pruned" she laughs, "Aww, those delicate hands can't handle a little water?" she jokes as she grabs her stuff to leave. She checks her phone and saw Nate had text her.

Although Laila wasn't scared of Vicky, she was relieved that she had been caught "Vicky's in custody" she turns towards Harry, who let's out a sigh of relief "Thank...fuck!" He wraps her up in his arms "Let hope she's not released anytime soon" she smiles up at him. She sends a quick reply back.

"So, that means I lose my hunky trainee?" She winks at him, he chuckles "Would it be inappropriate to take my boss out to dinner?" She smirks "Well, now your shift has finished you're no longer my trainee! I'm guessing it's acceptable!"

They leave the salon and find a restaurant that can seat them. Once they are shown their table, they're looking through the menu she looks up at Harry then she spots him...Fuck!!!! She thought as she moved the menu to cover her face.

"Laila?" She hears Harry say "Yes?" She asked not lowering her menu, "Who are you hiding from?" She can almost hear him smirking "No one! I have no idea what you're talking about!" He shook his head "You know even if I can't see your face I can tell you are lying"

She pulls down the menu a little "After Josh, Nikki set me up on a blind date...oh my god the guy was awful. He was one of those who are someone in school, but after he's a nobody the whole date he was just reminiscing about his days at school. I was so bored, so I made my excuses to use the toilets which was right next to the exit and left" Harry howls "Laila!! You didn't?!" He wipes his tears from laughing.

"I did! It's the guy over there with the woman with the yellow dress" Harry is about to turn to look, "Don't look you'll make it obvious!" She hisses "I need to see what this guy looks like especially if you've ditched him!" He turns and he can't believe his eyes "Callum?" He turns back to her "Yeah, how did you know?" She questions him.

"He was the kid in school that used to bully me about my weight...well until Alec told him to back off" Harry starts to laugh again "What's funny?" She asks, "So, he came to my gym years later wanting a PT, I managed to get him into shape....but it felt so good having someone who used to bully me come to me for help and now? My girlfriend went on a date with him and done a runner!" Harry is in fits of laughter.

"Maybe I should go over and say hi" Laila gives him a look as of to say don't you dare, but its to late, he's up and walking over to their table "Callum! I saw you and thought I'd come over and say hi!" Callum looks up at him "Harry, mate how are you?" The pair shake hands "Good, just here with my girlfriend Laila" he points in Laila's direction she awkwardly smiles back.

"I feel like I know her from somewhere" Callum's date turns in Laila's direction, now all 3 are looking over to her. Fuck! Does he recognize me?! She thought. "I think she just has one of those faces" Harry laughs "So, who's your date?" Callum's date looks up at Harry.

Laila caught her checking Harry out, she holds out her hand, which Harry shakes and quickly drops much to Callum's dates disappointment. She watches him smile at him both before making his way back to their table.

"Please tell me..he doesn't remember me?!" She asks as he sits, Harry chuckles "He thinks he knows you from somewhere, but no idea where" Laila sighs with relief "Thank god! But the nerve of his date! Checking you out right in front of him!" Her tone was curt.

A grin appeared on his face "So, I didn't imagine it then!" She rolls her eyes at him "No, I saw it too!" She doesn't look impressed "They were on a first date too! Why do you sound jealous?" He loves this side to her "I'm not.... I just think its rude checking out someone else when you are on a date" he leans over interlinking his fingers through hers "Gorgeous....come on surely you know I literally have tunnel vision, if it's not you I'm not interested! Plus do you know how good it felt telling him that I was with you?! The chubby kid got the super hot girlfriend and at 34 he's still on his first date" His words make her blush.

They're interrupted by the waiter who takes their order.

They are laughing at a silly joke Harry's mum told him when he heads to their table "I figured out where I know you from!" Callum says in an airy tone "We went on a blind date set up by Nikki! You ran out on it"

Fuck he remembered! She thought.

I was wondering do you have any season 5 meta to post about Terry and Daniel. There s5 storyline reminds of exes who are still hung up on each other in a crazy way its crazy passionate toxic and Terry and Daniel obsess over each other. All of there scenes were. Terry Definitely can't let go of his Danny Boy especially since Danny can't forgive him for what Terry did to him in KK3. It's just amazing all the hot crazy chemistry Thomas and Ralph have great chemistry after all these years. Sorry for rambling.

You know, I’ve never had an idea for it but if one came to mind I would 💯 write it / I have no actual process really - just whatever flashes in my brian and then it’s all written down - sometimes all over the place - and then pieced together in somewhat cohesive manner after.

I have thought that an AU - dark comedy style - for that would be funny.

Like everyone sees it but Daniel.

At a dinner one night / Daniel there with Silver as his plus one - he doesn’t think anything of it as he attends all these types of events with Terry (is usually always at the older man’s side for anything really) but he always just thinks he’s there as mentor/student (boy was a bit dense back then / that’s for sure canon 😆).

But he’s in a bad mood tonight and so he’s been grumpy all night, grumbling and pouting - Think him in KK2 in the blue suit / pouting prettily.

But when he finally snaps at Terry, folding his thin arms over an equally narrow chest, everyone holds their breath - afraid they’re about to witness a murder - NO ONE talks to Terry like that.

But Terry just smiles- he loves his boy regardless but esp when he’s being prickly - he does so love to encourage the bad behaviour.

To everyone’s FURTHER astonishment, Terry just soothes him / “a few more minutes and we’ll leave, I promise. Can you do that for me.”

Grumbling out, “fine. I’m getting a another drink though,” stomping off.

And Terry is just the epitome of the little heart eyes emoji as he watches his back depart into the crown - AND everyone can see it.

There was always gossip around them but now it’s in overdrive.

They figured Terry was fucking him - although there is a pool among the people in their circles if it’s even happened yet - but wherever this thing is they have between them, it’s been going on for longer than Terry’s reputation usually allows / he’s never with one person for too long.

But now people are wondering has Terry Silver met his match / is he in love.

Seems to be / he would never take this behaviour from anyone. There is a reason he’s to be respected (and feared).

Enter 80’s style ridiculous plot of someone using this for their advantage - kidnapping Daniel for ransom or to blackmail Terry etc

Terry gets him back of course / personally rescuing him, and of course it’s then that Terry finally admits his feelings and makes Daniel his 😏

I don’t have much meta / I don’t analyze much too deeply - not my strong suit at all, but I will sometimes add things to gif sets (as long as I know the person is a fine with Silverusso) or add on to discussions.

Sometimes I’ll do a post here and there but they usually aren’t too long, or if someone shoots me an ask of a specific thing.

I’ve actually been reblogging and posting for season five more than any other - mainly because it gave us so much. ALTHOUGH season four gave us the glorious mini mart scene and apology scene, which just means so much more now that TIG has made those comments about wanting to be loved and be Daniel’s friend - honourable mention the AVT eye fucking.

They are very very much still hung up on each other.

Like Amanda said when Jessica said Daniel moved on / He really hasn’t though, has he? - just thought he did probably (and we all know Daniel dealing with things is to not really address them - out of sight out of mind - cough cough Miyagi’s room scene ripping my heart out).

That’s why Seeing Terry jars him so (same way seeing the cobra Kai sign did) - it makes him deal with that and the nice neat little box labelled Terry DO NOT TOUCH in the deep part of his brain comes flying open and the ghosts go for the throat.

You can see it on Daniel’s face as soon as he sees Terry / bless Ralph’s acting.

To me, from a ship perspective, them seeing each other to me is the epitome of time melting away / like the last 35 years between them (of separation) never happened. Daniel is back in his sights and that’s all that matters.

Their chemistry is amazing / and a lot of KK3 is because of them.

The script was a hot mess so the actors themselves were just coming up with ways to flesh out the character and relationship - to make it make sense - and fill the scenes - bless.

Plus - the two events we’ve seen them interact at - Thomas always seems genuinely happy to see Ralph / big soft smile, squeezing hand on Ralph’s shoulder (so we know that that move in KK/CK is in there due to Thomas - it’s natural to squeeze the twink), and hugs 😻

And there was Ralph’s little, “hello Thomas,” on a video a while back where like 50 people were part of it.

All these BTS photos coming out / I need some of them so bad and of course a BTS video of them practising and shooting the fight scene.

Juuuust wanted to add that I think a huge problem in Knights/Pawns, is that Daniel is TOO irresistible. Like, he’s too pretty, too cute, too cuddly…that it actually provokes a violent love and lust in others, especially Alphas, and especially Terry. Terry usually has this under control, but those nights where he comes back from a “job” and/or is not in the best of moods…he gives in to these more base instincts and passions and lets loose on Daniel. Most times, this goes very well (and Daniel, I think, likes to be ravished and at Terry’s mercy sometimes) but when it doesn’t, we get r*pe. There’s a thin line between the two and usually Terry/Alphas know better. Until they don’t.

Daniel's Pop tested Terry both on restraint and protective instincts towards his youngest son. (The heat and the music trick. Both times he wanted to 'endanger' Daniele without actually putting him in harm's way. Performing music in public when you don't feel comfortable will provoke the same reactions as actual distress). Both times Terry showed restraint and acted to ensure Daniel's wellbeing. Which is to say he knew better that night he raped his mate too. He simply chose not to care. He thought he could afford it. What recourse did Danny boy have after all? Yes he's lovely. Yes they both like it rough. But Terry saw the line and thought, pun intended, "Fuck it." Yes Danny is a beautiful brat and a bit of a tease. And Terry is stronger than him by far. That's why it's Terry's responsibility to stay on the right side of that line and he didn't. Daniel, who, fundamentally, has done nothing but try his best for Terry. They have five pups at this point, six years of marriage and Daniel has given him everything. Terry used to live in some rooms above a store somewhere and subsisted on violence, whiskey and pub grub. He partly loved John Kreese so much because he needed a semblance of family time at his friend's house. (He still loves to be at John's house, he's not that basic!) Has love now, a great family, comfort, sex, a place to receive his friends and associates and... chooses to do this anyway. Oh, no - it's vile. Absolutely vile. Consider that Amanda is on Daniel's side in the whole affair. She adores her brother but is like: "Can't blame you if you kill him." To do this over some mob related pissing contest. But this is Silverusso. And in canon too, Daniel hasn't stopped caring for Terry despite the violence. He married Terry's female doppel after all the hurt. And yes, Daniel does provoke cuteness aggression in others too. Sometimes on purpose. That's one of his dark edges. Putting that together with Terry is quite the cocktail. Or even with Johnny and the Cobras, whom he also provoked in canon. But it's still Johnny's fault for nearly killing him. Danny flirts with danger,and that's fine because Terry eats that stuff up, but as the stronger one, it's Terry's responsibility to look out for Daniel's safety. And he didn't. End of story. Greater power, greater responsibility. Daniel has done enough in his marriage to look out for Terry's welfare too to be allowed to expect no less.

Mist Shelters All (Adam Solo)

Here I sit

-A wholesome Nursery Rhyme

Content Warning: Allusions to Parental Death, Interfamily Violence, Walker’s being Walkers, Head Trauma, Lobotomy Imagery, Allusions to the Child Indoctrination

Hartvlinder drifted through the air like a gossamer mist. Clusters of the tentacled polyps danced around Adam on thermal currents. They buffeted the Hunter in waves that were at once so thick that he couldn’t see anything beyond a few feet in the feathery haze, but also so gentle that the dreamy etherealness that made it easy to doubt if he was actually awake.

Adam knew it was dangerous to be out here. These paranormal polyps all put out a tiny ‘blip’ on his Hunter senses. It was like ballistic Chaff in a way. Just as clouds of aluminum scrap Chaff could blot out radar, so too were all these drifting Hartvlinder turning Adam’s monster detection into just a grey fuzz in the back of his brain.

But Adam had trudged deeper into the Hartvlinder-clouded moor anyway, boots swishing through fields of blue heather blooms and wading through ponds carpeted in padded lilies. The skyline of White Crest had been swallowed up hours ago, vanishing as a gauzy cloudscape of Hartvlinder enshrouded everything.

He’d finally found the densest heart of the Harrvlinder haze, where the largest adult specimens drifted like airborne moon jellyfish. Adam held one of the squirming polyps in his hand, staring down with a leaden expression into the mass of fern tendrils that strained towards his face. But at each feathery brush against his temples Adam flinched away, trying to calm his breathing and work up the resolve to submit that lobotomizing embrace.

Adam was so engrossed in this inner brinkmanship that he didn’t feel the blow coming until it was too late. The world was red tinged black as he was thrown down into the heather.

“You don’t want to do that.”

Adam shook cobolt blooms off his head and tried to look up towards the familiar voice. A dark-haired man of sinewy muscularity in his later thirties, Daniel Walker didn’t look like much in oil-stained jeans and T-shirt from some band that’d been obscure long before either of them were born. But Adam had watched his paternal uncle nonchalantly snap necks enough times to respect Daniel’s no-frills approach to lethality.

“Woooah fuuuck, Uncle Dan,” Adam exclaimed with boyish joviality as he flipped back up to his feet in one smooth motion. “Dude so like Terry and I were thinking like ...what we covered some of these fern-aliens in Gold Bond and …”

“Adam I don’t have time left in my life for this prep-school boy toy act,” Daniel interrupted with the weary salt of someone who’d had to leave a soft bed with warm company. “Spill it or I’ll knock you cold and ship your ass off to Tel Aviv with a frozen food sticker.”

But Adam had already closed the distance and sent a low uppercut into his uncle’s solar plexus. “I’ve made up my mind Dan,” he claimed, sweeping a leg behind the elder Hunter’s knees and sending him tumbling with a two-fisted hammerblow to the collarbone.

“Really,” Daniel huffed as he broke the fall’s momentum with a backwards somersault through the heather that brought him back up to his feet. “You head out to do wetwork all the time without bothering anybody bout it. Why message Naomi about that witch your sweet on? Why as me about an old rhyme?” Daniel jumped to the side as Adam attempted to catch him in a soccer slide-tackle, clapping the athlete hard on the side of his dead as he skidded through the grass. “If you really wanted to do this, you’d numbed yourself into a Hart-Hollow hours ago.”

Adam’s unfocused brown eyes lifted to the tendril clouds of Hartvlinder drifting around them like a ocean of dandelion seeds. “I just …,” he murmured with a slightly concussed slur, “I want to become a better person, to make it so that all the fucked up shit doesn’t hold me back. I need to become a better man, a more focused weapon for humanity. Right now I can’t help anyone, I’m a danger to you. ”

Daniel was quiet for a time as the two sparred in the polyp fog, trading blows that would’ve shattered the bodies of more natural men with a celerity other eyes would have struggled to follow. Daniel watched his nephew carefully while reducing the younger man’s face and bare arms to a bruised blood messy and taking his fair share of pain in return.

At last the huntsman reached his verdict: “Bullshit.”

Adam glared at Daniel while pausing to wipe the blood trickling down from his broken lips. But while Adam came at his uncle again with a gritted teeth and more viciously aimed punches, he didn’t actually deny the denunciation. “You think I don’t have the guts to do it or something?”

Daniel weaved back from Adam’s southpaw and took a guarded stance while noticing his nephew’s form become both more ever aggressive as anger overwhelmed training. “Few months back? Yeah I’d say you more then brainwashed enough back then to mutilate yourself into a Fern-Terminator for mankind’s glory or some shit,” he mused softly while stepping into the blindspot of Adam’s incoming punch. “But now? Nah, that’s not why you’re here” Daniel asserted, jamming an elbow straight into Adam’s abdominals while his other hand landed an uppercut to the nose.

“You don’t know that! I need to change, to get rid of...the fuck do you know!”

Daniel looked into Adam’s bloody face as the footballer’s fury seemed to make the livid bruises covering him all the starker. “Fact is you’ve already changed son, have been for a long time now I figure,” Daniel said softly. “And that scares the shit out of you.”

Adam circled Daniel in search of an opening, feinting and drawing back into the obscuring cover of the Hartvlinder mist. But Daniel simply stood calmly in the blue heather, and sure enough, the retaliating blow never came.

“I’m just lost”

Daniel flashed a wry bloodstained smile to the younger killer struggling to stay on his feet from battering and sleep deprivation. “Nah, I don’t think so,” he assured, rubbing some ribs Adam had landed a solid kick on earlier. Daniel walked over to where Adam had sank down into an exhausted heap on the grass. “Look, I know the Code’s been the guiding star your whole life but...”

“I broke it Uncle Dan,” Adam confessed hoarsely with a thickness in his throat. “Then I even lost our....”

“I know,” Daniel interrupted gently, squeezing his nephew’s shoulder. “But how can you protect humanity if you give up what makes you human?”

Adam shook his head furiously in the fervent denial, tears mingling with open cuts. “Dad gave everything for humanity!”

“Hey dumbass, it ever reach your brain that you’re one of the people my brother died to save,” Daniel snapped, “humanity is an empty idol. No one loves abstract humanity, we love people. So cut that shit out.”

Adam swallowed and tried to wipe his eyes, shoving away a drifting Hartvlinder that’d been extending its gossamer tendrils towards his face.

“But you’ve already known that deep down for a while,” Daniel observed, “Honoring our ancestors’ sacrifices doesn’t mean mindlessly following their every word.”

“Still nice to hear someone else say it,” Adam admitted. “At the Bullet when they talk about Uri and the Gehenna 13 incident its like hes....I dunno..not even my dad anymore.”

“Not a real human that ate, shat, and had flaws like the rest of us,” Daniel suggested.

“Yeah pretty much,”

The two battered Huntsmen sat in the heather for a while, watching wispy waves of Hartvlinder become subtly numinous as dawn sent a golden glow through the gauzy veil.

“I still like, feel totally lost all the time without the Code, like I’m just making it up as I go along.”

Daniel scoffed and ruffed Adam’s sweaty hair . “Chill out kid, it just means you're growing up.”

Daniel LaRusso: A Queer Feminine Fairytale Analysis Part Two of Three

Part 3

6. Sexual Awakenings part 1: Love, Obsession, & Size Differences

[Insert that post talking about the creators making sure that Daniel’s antagonists were much bigger than him so that the audience would sympathise, spawning 10000 size kink fics]

Corporate wants you to find the difference between these two pictures

The hallmark of feminine fairytales tends to be growing into womanhood, with all those symbolic sexual under/overtones, searching for a prince, encountering monsters (or evil stepmothers), on the surface tending to be quite passive/reactive, but actually being about young girls and women getting out of their environment and choosing to tussle with those deep, dark desires – monsters. They’ve got to function within the limitations of power that they have – escaping an abusive situation through marriage, chasing forbidden desires under the guise of duress, asking questions about sexuality through things like symbolic plucking (flowers) or consumption (fruit) or pricking (needles), etc.

Daniel isn’t striking out to find his fortune or win a girl or a kingdom Like A Man, he’s not a threat to Silver, who – like Jareth in Labyrinth – is in control for almost the whole of the narrative, he’s not actually able to do much more than react until he makes the decision to stop training, and even then he’s immediately ganged up on and assaulted, needing to be saved by Miyagi while he stands and watches, bloodied and bruised.

Daniel’s journey in the third movie is to be forced into an impossible situation, seduced by Silver, and then prove that whatever violence Silver did to him isn’t enough to destroy him. It is incredibly similar to Sarah’s in Labyrinth, who by the end declares: “you have no power over me,” and that’s her winning moment. Not strength, not wits, not a direct fight, (although Daniel does fight Barnes and gets beat up again – only winning in in the end by taking him by surprise, unlike in TKK1 or TKK2 where you could argue that he proves himself to be a capable physical opponent to Johnny and Chozen), but by declaring that whatever power was held over her is now void.

Daniel’s narrative isn’t satisfying in the same way, because the dynamic of Silver and Daniel only accidentally emulates this - it’s not an intention on the side of the film-makers.

When Miyagi tells Daniel that he has strong roots, when he tells him not to lose to fear and Daniel wins over Barnes (in an almost fairytale-esque set of events), on paper he’s defeated whatever hold Terry Silver has over him. In the film itself though, Daniel never defeats Silver (which will likely be confirmed once he returns in Season Four). Daniel cannot simply say “you have no power over me,” and see Silver shattered into glass shards.

The film is a contradiction: It wants to be a masculine sports film, but it exists in the same realm as Goblin Kings seducing young girls with the promise of: “Just fear me, love me, do as I say, and I will be your slave.” Unlike Sarah, Daniel doesn’t claim the power that’s been promised to him on his own terms. His subtextually sexual awakening is so corrupted that all he can do is pretend it never happened.

Still, Daniel proves in the film that his strength is not in his fists. It’s in his praying to the bonsai tree that’s healed despite a violent boy brutally tearing it in two.

These looks on Daniel and Silver though?

So why does Silver become obsessed with him? What’s up with all those red outfits (that he doesn’t wear in Cobra Kai)? What does the temptation reveal about Daniel? How does it recontextualise TKK1 and TKK2? Is Daniel bisexual? (yes).

Ah, beach-Daniel, in your red hoodie and your cut-off jorts. Iconic hot-girl summer vibes.

If you didn’t want me over-analysing this, you shouldn’t have put him in so many red outfits and then have this man leering at him like he wants to eat him alive.

Surface-level it’s not hard to read into a Dude Story: Masculine power fantasies are about strength in a very direct way. Fighting, control, suaveness – and if you’re not the most traditionally masculine of guys, asserting dominance through being a good lover or intelligent or overcoming that unmanliness in some way through beating the bully or convincing the hot girl to go out with you, levelling up in coolness. Being A Man. It’s not too dissimilar from Daniel’s arc in the first movie, if you watch it without taking later events into account, although Daniel is never interested in proving himself as a man, and more in making Miyagi proud. Still, he does win and gain respect, and arguably “get the girl,” although Ali’s interest in him was never dependent on the fight.

7. Sexual Awakenings Part 2: Sexual Assault, Liberation, and Queerness

Feminine power fantasies are often about sex. Metaphorically. More accurately it’s “owning sexuality.” Even more accurately: “Freedom.” They also inhabit a fluid space in which empowerment through monstrous desires and non-consent can happen at the same time. And on top of that, many of these “fantasies” are actually being written by men, so whose fantasy is it really? A lot of them are based in oral traditions so presumably they were originally from the mouths of women, even if modern iterations (starting with Grimm’s collections) are filtered through cis men’s perspectives.

All of that being acknowledged: In Angela Carter’s “The Company Of Wolves,” Red Riding Hood unambiguously sleeps with the wolf. Belle discovers her freedom from expectations and unsuitable suitors (and in some versions, evil stepsisters) by falling in love with a Beast (the original novel was written by a woman, the 18th century Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve). Jareth informs Sarah of his obsessive devotion to her in Labyrinth. To lean into horror for a moment – Buffy is stalked and eventually has relationships with both Angel and Spike, Lucy in Coppola’s Dracula (which I have mixed feelings about) is raped by the werewolf and Mina is stalked by Dracula, The Creature Of The Black Lagoon kidnaps Kay (the lead’s girlfriend) – subverted in both The Shape Of Water in which Eliza forms a consensual relationship with the amphibious sea-god and in the short-lived horror series Swamp Thing, in which the connection is purposefully framed as seductive…

and in The Karate Kid Part Three Daniel LaRusso punches a board until his hands bleed because an attractive, older man tells him to and in this moment he gives in to what he (thinks he) wants.

Not all of those examples are equal. Some are consensual, some are hinted as abusive and/or stalkery, all of them have large age gaps, and a few are outright non-consensual.

But they’re all fantasies.

They’re all power-fantasies.

Except for Daniel, because he’s a man and the idea that being obsessed (lusted) over by an older man who keeps you in his thrall, specifically because you tickle his fancy for whatever reason, because you’re beautiful, breakable, different – could in any way be considered empowering is a difficult concept to wrap your head around. It doesn’t contain that “but I’m a good girl, I’d never go off the path and pluck flowers if a bad wolf told me to, honest,” societal context or the social context of rape culture. It’s closest comparison is closeted (perhaps even unknown until that point) queer identity.

There have recently been some comparisons of Daniel LaRusso to Bruce Bechdel in Funhome (and everyone who says that Ralph Macchio ought to play him in the upcoming movie: you’re right and I’m just not going to enjoy it as much without him). I’ve written a post about Sam being the heir to his legacy and trauma, specifically as a queercoded man. It’s not dissimilar to the plot of Funhome in a lot of ways.

The other interesting source that’s been going around in connection with Daniel is the essay “The Rape of James Bond,” which discusses the use of sexual assault as a plot device for women and not for men: “About one in every 33 men [in the US] is raped. … [your statistically average, real life man] … doesn’t have a horde of enemies explicitly dedicated to destroying him. He doesn’t routinely get abducted, and tied up. Facing a megalomaniac psychopath gloating over causing him pain […] is not the average man’s average day at the office.” That last bit is just a descriptor of Terry Silver, (although I take issue at the blasé use of psychopath).

The two part youtube essay Sexual Assault of Men Played for Laughs posits that there is nothing more de-masculinising than the threat of sexual assault and therefore any narrative that features this “rightfully” must mock any man who has been a victim or who fears being a victim of sexual assault. It is feminising. There is nothing more humiliating – and therefore unheroic – than a man dealing with sexual assault.

So what do we feel when we see an attractive young man being put into a vulnerable position by an older man? A trope associated with female characters, a trope that is considered unpalatable for men (see reactions that happened when the hint of sexual assault was introduced in Skyfall).

Was it the fact that he was being threatened, or the fact that James’ next line is: “what makes you think this is my first time?”

Some thoughts added by @mimsyaf are around the idea of safety in how a lot of cis women might relate to this narrative through Daniel’s eyes. He’s not a woman, he has – societally – more power than a girl or woman would have, which makes this a different watch to, say, if Danielle were to go through the same narrative. Daniel doesn’t carry that baggage of rape culture, or of the male gaze that you might find in a similar scenario of Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Christine in Phantom of the Opera (and once more the age differences between these characters and the men who love/lust over them are substantial), which makes the narrative “safer” to engage with.

I agree with that, although as a transmasc person I also come at it differently. I specifically like to headcanon Daniel as a trans guy and find his fraught interactions with masculinity through his own non-toxic lens relatable, as well as the way other boys and men react to it – also I think Terry Silver is hot. I know there are people who write Terry Silver with female OCs, which is also a form of empowerment.

On the flipside putting Daniel in this space runs a risk of fetishising him as a queer youth who is either Innocent and Pure, or a bisexual stereotype that deserves to be assaulted for not being a real man. After all, Real Straight Men don’t run the risk of sexual assault.

Alas, the road to empowerment never did run smooth.

The comparisons between the way Daniel is treated by the text and how female characters are often treated in texts are undoubtedly there. Through Ralph Macchio and TIG’s casting and the direction and acting, but also within the text itself.

It might not be with the same purpose as Neo’s symbolically trans journey, but it puts the whole narrative that Daniel’s going through from TKK1 under a different light than if there had only been one movie that ended on a triumphant sports win and a girlfriend.

Johnny’s masculinity and the use of tears as liberation, now that’s a whole other analysis….

What sci-fi/fantasy books would you recommended for a person that’s not a huge reader? Or even just an avid reader? Extra points for the aesthetics, gotta make that bookshelf pop

If you were writing a world building fic, what would be your go to power? What’s your go to personality? Would they be on the side of good or evil? What kind of world would you build? Would there be romance?

Okay bee, this has been sitting in my ask box for a minute, I am so sorry for the slow reply! I wanted to give a thorough answer to your first question and it's taken me a minute to get around to answering all of this! This may get long, so answers below the cut:

If I were writing a world building fic, I'd probably choose a power that has something to do with an element or something that seems useless at first. Go-to personality? Something witty but sweet. I think they'd start on the good side, but slowly slip into the darkness, or maybe a grey area. Being good isn't nearly as fun!

There would 100% be romance and I'd make it as hopelessly gay as possible. It's like veggie soup for the heart. As for what world I'd build... that is so hard. I have an old WIP that is pretty world-buildy and deals with witches/dragons/etc in a hidden, modern setting. I'm not saying too much because I would like to finish it and post it one day.

A lot of my world-building is inspired by certain landscapes. I love westerns and would love to do western-esc story with a literal ghost-town and ghostly conflicts. I'd also like to do something set in the wilderness, maybe an island or something. Think Swiss Family Robinson aesthetic, then make it gay. I like writing things that somewhat avoid modern settings.

What about you, bee? What would your answers be to all of these questions?

Sci-Fi:

- Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes

Flowers for Algernon is an older sci-fi novel, written in 1966. It follows a mentally disabled man who receives a treatment that will transform him into a genius. The treatment is tested on a mouse named Algernon first and things look to be going well, until Algernon's health begins to fail.

I choose this because it was one of the first sci-fi books I'd ever read. It was a required read when I was in school. Most school-prescribed books don't interest me, but this does. It's been a minute so my memory may be hazy, but it was fairly easy to read from what I remember, it is also significantly shorter than most sci-fi books.

It asks a lot of really intriguing questions; what it means to be intelligent, if intelligence is truly a gift, what makes a life worth living? For that reason alone, I recommend it.

- The Host by Stephanie Meyer

(I honestly don't know if this is sci-fi or fantasy, but it feels a little more sci-fi so I'm sticking it here) I'm not a huge Stephanie Meyer fan, but The Host was a favorite of mine for some time. There was a movie years back as well.

Humans minds are being used as hosts for an alternate species. When one "soul" makes its way into a host, it finds that the host isn't ready to give up her mind. She bombards the invading soul with visions of someone important to her, convincing the soul to go against everything they know to find this person in hiding.

It is a longer read, but significantly gripping and a decent amount of world-building. A bit slow to start, but action packed and really interesting from beginning to end.

- The Girl With All the Gifts by M.R. Carey

A post-apocalyptic story. The zombie genre is a bit overdone, but this book carves out a completely different story than any others. It is truly unique to the genre. The story follows a young girl who is held in a facility to help combat this viral plague, but there is so much more to her than meets the eye.

Fantasy:

The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

Part of a series, but this can be read on its own. It's a fairly popular story so I'm going to skip a summary this time. It's easy to read and fairly short. If you've ever watched the Disney film, it lines up pretty well there, but obviously misses some detail.

Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett

This got a lot of attention when the show came out recently, but the story is brilliant. It's funny and heartwarming, which is funny since the protagonist is meant to bring about the end of the world. A fantastic, amazing story.

Assuming that Silver comes into S4 just as rich, bored, and unhinged as he was in KK3, my One Fear is that if the co-dojo loses the tournament he would ask for something like Daniel to be his servant or return to him as a student, etc. Like Kreese hates him and wants him dead, but Terry seems invested in metaphorically scooping out Daniel empty and replacing his insides with something else. People are like his bonsai that way, but Terry isn't interested in shaping Daniel to be his best self...

That is a very valid fear... Hoo boy you got me deep in the feels.

First of all, yes, I one hundred percent believe Terry has been just as bored as he's ever been. Probably moreso than in KK3. From the little we were shown he seems to find the business side of things and people in his life very dull. There's no challenge. He holds the power in every relationship and situation he's in. It's not until he starts scheming and hanging out with Daniel that he seems to be really living instead of just existing.

I think we're going to see a s4 Terry having the time of his life. He's going to go from his world being a black and white television to full on technicolor. Especially after being around Daniel again, in whatever capacity that is. Whether it's more aggressively antagonistic or appearing as a friend again. I think it could go either way.

Secondly, I think that Cobra Kai WILL win the next tournament. Mostly because the writers have planned up to six seasons and I don't see Kreese peacing out after losing in s4 like he promised lol. Season 5 will probably be more training for another tournament in Season 6. And all the drama in between.

And adding those together, your One Fear is extremely plausible. Cobra Kai is going to have the leverage and the power. They'll have Robby. And if there's one thing Terry knows how to do it is exploiting a weakness.

I'm sure he'll threaten Daniel with hurting Robby if he doesn't do as he asks. And Daniel is the self-sacrificing type that he wouldn't hesitate to submit. Although, I'm hoping that when Robby witnesses how they treat Daniel and what Daniel is willing to give up for him, Robby will return to the light.

There's several ways like you mentioned it could go. Kreese and Silver could use Daniel as a punching bag, but I like the idea of Silver wanting Daniel to be his student again. It's so dark and angsty. It's so perfect.

THIS. You gave me chills. What a great line. Watching KK3 it's clear that Terry revels in bringing out Daniel's dark side-- the killer instinct as he and Kreese call it. It all started off as a ploy to hurt Miyagi by hurting his student, but Terry's sole focus quickly becomes all about Daniel. Miyagi who? Lol.

I have this theory that Terry genuinely liked Daniel. There's several instances of Terry being surprised at how quickly Daniel learns something. How fast he heals. How Daniel enjoys Terry's little jokes and sayings.

"You like that, Mr. LaRusso?"

Terry happily says that twice to Daniel. It's like he really enjoyed having a student. And the sheer amount of glee and pride he shows when Daniel broke the wooden dummy. When he punched that guy in the nightclub. It seemed genuine to me. And that's without all the gay subtext. KK3 is so gay you guys. I have to make a separate post about the nightclub scene. You will not believe. I'll link it to the bottom here. There was literally no reason for Terry to follow Daniel that night, to take him out back into the alleyway alone. Like what was your plan Terry. Where were you going.

And then of course later that same night when Daniel tells Terry he'll no longer be fighting, Terry looks so disappointed. Disappointed and then pissed. Nobody says "no" to Terry Silver. Nobody. Not even Kreese. Gone is the proud sensei. Silver becomes even more unhinged when Daniel tries to leave him. I swear KK3 plays out like a Lifetime Original Movie about stalking and abusive boyfriends.

Anyway, I got a little off track there. My point is I can easily see Terry trying to corrupt Daniel once again. Someone that thinks like he does and can be shaped how he wants him? Perfect. And I think Terry sees a little of himself in Daniel. How he used to be. And like Kreese, Terry thinks his old self was weak, and can be something more. In a parallel to how Kreese thinks of Johnny.

This brings me to what you said about Kreese's motives in comparison to Silver's, and how that might affect their relationship.

I think it's safe to say that Kreese is also obsessed with Daniel lol. I mean who isn't heh. But it's definitely more hate-fueled than anything.

If the show goes the way of Silver hyper fixating on Daniel again, I think we'll see that put a huge strain on the friendship. They won't be on the same page.

I mean I think it would be amazing and ironic to show their war forged bond break after all these years in a mirror to Johnny and Daniel coming together and uniting.

And possibly, either Kreese or Silver could be redeemed. It depends on who cares about their student more. Hear me out lmao

If Kreese really cares about Johnny, he's not going to like what Terry does to him. Because let's face it, Terry isn't going to have any great love for Johnny Lawrence. Those two are going to butt heads and trade insults and I can't wait. So it's possible Kreese could turn on Terry if he goes too far in his attempts to destroy Johnny.

And the same goes for Terry and Daniel. How far will Terry let Kreese push things, especially if Terry tries to bring Daniel over to the Cobra Kai side(you can't tell me Terry won't be proud of Daniel's rent hike). Terry is a control freak and if Kreese doesn't do as Terry thinks he should, I can see Terry betraying him. A rift is inevitable y'all. There's a reason CK gives us young Terry and Kreese in flashbacks and it's not just so we'll feel sorry for them. One of them is going to pull a Darth Vader and see the light. But probably not until the end of the series.

There's a line in the kk1 novel:

They'll be their own downfall.

How fun. It's going to be a wild, painful ride. My body is ready.

Another thing I'd like to see in the show regarding Terry and Daniel, is their music together from the KK3 movie. Terry manipulating Daniel again is the perfect opportunity to callback to their old themes. @wantedtourist made a beautiful post HERE about a couple of the songs and I'd like to talk about it more but I'll make a separate post, linked below.
