Like we don't RP much anymore, and that's totally okay, and I don't think we've ever really done anything here on Cloud, as much as I would love to. But you're one of my favourites, for real.

I don't know if I've ever admitted it out loud, I feel like I may have, but rewind the clock back to somewhere around 2020 when I first started to see your blog in my roleplay orbit I was impressed and intimidated. I know people don't like to hear that, your Cloud has such a strong presence and is so well-written that I had that "pbbf I can never show my face in this neighborhood" reaction for the longest time because I put you on a pedestal.

However, I'm not the same Muddy as I was in 2020, and I've taken off those rosy glasses and realised how silly I've been by putting up walls where there were never walls to begin with. I would love to explore something with your Cloud! I know we've let Aerith and Roche dance, but Aerith and Cloud deserve to step on each other's toes a bit!

Bit of a selfish ask cause im curious, but tell us about your poppy playtime au?~

The Chapter 3 hype has calmed down enough that I can finally post this and hopefully not grab too much attention kfdgjkdf

This idea is simple

Poppy Playtime but the Protagonist is a Child.

Where they came from, why they're here, how they GOT here is all still a mystery. They just wandered in on a stormy night drenched from the rain.

Basic design concept, the hair could use some tweaking

The bigger bodies toys who are controlled by/follow the Prototype, specifically Huggy here at the start, are instructed to bring no home to the child like they would a usual intruder or Playtime employee and are instead tasked with bringing the kid to the Prototype to join the other children from Playcare. They're too small for the Grab Pack so it's up to the Bigger Bodies toys to solve puzzles and get them through the crumbling Toy Factory.

I remember thinking an AU where you slowly collect the Big Monsters instead of killing them would but fun but.. The longer I thought on it, the more I wanted to keep at least some element of the Horror part of Mascot Horror

While I don't have all the details yet, I imagine at the end of each chapter/the start of the next chapter, the current toy with the MC dies, sill reminiscing their deaths from the game itself but through different methods.

For example Huggy still falls to his death, but it's from catching the kid when they fell with Poppy when Mommy kidnaps her at the start of Chapter 2. Mommy is still squashed to death, but rather than in a gruesome machine accident, it's during the train crash at the end of Chapter 2. Catnap I haven't worked out yet, but I thiiiink it was probably Poppy's doing...

And every time a toy dies, the Prototype is there to retrieve them. MC is terrified of this skeletal hands that keeps taking away their friends, which is the main reason they work with Poppy in Chapter 3, as much as they can of course.

That's like. The big parts of it I can cover now. There's more but I'd like to refine it more as the game comes out before saying too much else.

Second HOLY SHIT I went looking for my about post on this S/I and the most recent one was from 2021. I haven't watched the show in forever but when I do finally go back I need to color those sketches I made of their updated designs and make an about for them because Jesus Christ. I can't keep sending people to a 3 year old post.

Seeing those two posts side by side though does make me feel great about my art though. Three years. Damn.

ANYWAY, I'll give you the quick rundown

This S/I is my League of Villains self insert, he's Sir Nighteye's twin brother, legal husband of AFO, and Father to Tomura Shigiraki along with the rest of the League.

My Self-Ship with AFO is the only Self Ship I have that's completely non-romantic. Normally there's affection on at least one side, but here AFO is just using me, and I'm just going along with it to stay alive. No love here. I also self ship with Mr. Compress and Twice with this S/I during a little imaginary intrum after the Meta Liberation Arc where everyone's just crashed together at ReDestro's place.

His Quirk doesn't have a name cause the old name I had for it is dumb, but it's basically the opposite of Nighteye's quirk; He sees a person's past upon making contact with him. The difference while he doesn't have the once a day limit like Nighteye, he needs to be in direct contact with the person who's past he's looking into in order to keep seeing their past. The longer he stays in contact, the farther back he can see.

He sort of has the energy of a used car salesman when dealing with anyone outside of the League. He's overly friendly and unassuming. With the League he's very momcore, a bit overbearing and a big worrier, but overall chill mostly just doing basic chores like laundry and what not. Outside of both those scenarios he's Stoic, blank expression and calm demeanor, like his brother that's his default, he just puts on a very good act.

So basically... Tokitoswap! a swap au in which the tokis and the kamados swap roles-- yui swapping w/ tan, and mui swapping with nezzy. 

aka: Two Twins Have A Bit Of A Worse Time Than Usual And Suddenly Find Themselves In The Middle Of A Thousand Year Struggle Between Humans And Demons (Which Are Real By The Way)!

. it also happens to be an exercize in having a concept, going “hey, wouldnt it be funny if--?” and then it sticks and you have to commit. i keep trying to explain in a way that Makes Sense, but im gonna be honest. theres just So Fucking Much going on and ive been trying to write this for hours and i dont even know where to start summarizing WAHAHAH. i dont know if its very Canon Aligned but it sure is very Me Aligned and i sure am gonna commit to the bit! anyway. 

its heavily in-progress and was supposed to be a clean one-role swap but! Well!!!! It Sure Isn’t Anymore!!! 

under the cut since im Incapable of keeping things short:

funy lil swap au! ft:  Yui: “Older” Brother who Thinks he’s in charge. a beleaguered 14-year-old who stumbled into being a slayer and super isn’t prepared for this. Unfortunately, having your sole remaining family turn into a demon is kind of antithetical to “go home and pretend nothing happened.” he is handling this very well. (lie) a user of wind-breathing, his main priority is keeping him and mui safe, and is a bit overprotective. which is a problem, since mui will charge headfirst into the first sign of danger to protect him. their relationship is a bit messy, but they’re pretty much the only thing holding each other together. a kid trying so hard to act bigger than he is-- and inevitably, routinely failing.

Mui: Odd Little Creacher secretly hiding Rage More Powerful Than A Thousand Suns. just barely surviving the attack of their family one fateful night by That Man, he manages to completely break the curse and hunger or being a demon through his own sheer will. unfortunately, he also completely loses control of himself and, in order to make sure that energy doesnt completely tear him apart, his consciousness completely mists over-- leaving him rather airheaded and distant in an attempt to hold back the roaring of a new power he cannot control. . but hes so silly!! ^w^ couldn’t hurt a fly!!

Murata: Some Fucking Guy who just so happened to get roped into all this. is just absolutely baffled this kid is out here slaying demons like this, and is honestly doing his best to make sure he doesn’t stupidly get himself killed. despite being at a higher rank than them, though, he’s kind of... well, he hasn’t gotten the hang of water-breathing techniques. try as he might, he just cant quite reach the same skill level as some of his peers. even still though, he has to keep trying. he has a job to do, and promises to keep. 

Susamaru: Professionally identifies as a Problem. a user of beast-breathing, she just kind of... shows up one day and starts antagonizing. originally started fighting the twins for the honestly-kind-of-reasonable reason of “That Kid Is A Demon And Thats A Fucking Problem” but got distracted messing with yui enough to get. kinda curious about the other one. she’s loud and brash and fucking annoying, but at some point she just... asserted herself. and never left.  she’s an odd case. ridiculously skilled at the whole slaying-demons thing, she just... doesnt seem to take things seriously. has a penchant for irritating people on purpose-- but its purely for the extent of understanding how they work. what makes them tick. she’s here for a good time, not a long time. most of her peers don’t like her much, but once she’s decided that she likes someone, theres very little she wont do for them. and these nerds just so happen to be next on the list. 

. all in all, its just these dorks against the world. there’s just. a ridiculous amount of mess ive written about how they function and how their arcs shape up, and while there Are some other roles and etc written up, my brain has been completely laser focused on These Four In Particular, so . \o/ ! anyway, heres a bunch of ambient sketches from all over the place of Them(tm)

What program and brushes do you normally use? I love the way you color and render everything. Your art is very eatable

First off THANK YOU VERY MUCH ʕ⁠´⁠•⁠ ⁠ᴥ⁠•̥⁠`⁠ʔ♥️!!

Since the beginning of last year I've been using Procreate mainly, but my real go to program is Clip Studio Paint!

I wish I had a more fancy process with custom brushes and stuff, but I mainly work with the default brushes when I'm in Procreate:

Technical Pencil (for whatever line work I start off with + smaller details in coloring + eraser)

Flat Brush (base colors + eraser)

Rectango (this is the chaotic brush used whenever and unsparingly.... I like the texture 👍 on drawings like this it is basically built only using this brush.)

And that's my main brushes for Procreate! Anything else I use depends on the situation.... Soft Brush is good to dust colors, Technical Pen is I actually am forced to do line art, ect ect...

For Clip Studios... I think I use a lot more brushes I've accumulated from the shop and I think one of them isn't even available anymore so I'll have to check ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ (I've been on Clip there since I was like 13ish??? So it's been a long time)

It's a similar process as procreate, but I feel like I have more control over the details...

Colored pencil (default brush) (used for line work + sketching + coloring)

A marker (Aマーカー) (custom/shop) (used for blending)

커스텀 수채붓 2 (custom/shop) (coloring) unfortunately this grush was deleted by the creator which is terrifying because it is my favorite brush and I'd be ruined without itT^T

And those are the main brushes in Clip Studio!

Again thank you! the main "secret" to my rendering style is in the colors and with finding a messy enough brush (any brush you feel mimics the strokes of a real brush!) Also, don't be afraid to break your line art! In all honesty, I've gotten rid of the line art altogether when doing illustrations and just have a decent sketch, before adding and layering colors.

When it comes to colors, it's kinda a muscle memory thing you have to build up. My biggest advice, if you struggle with color picking, is to consume as much art as possible and observe how others you admire use colors and shading. That's what really helped me develop an eye for what works and what doesn't. Oh, and a fun little cheat is just fucking around with filters and opacity. This can yield some interesting results and get your brain moving when recognizing interesting color combos. And of course, always be willing to experiment with what you learn! Art is all about collecting new rules and breaking any that don't fit you :)

I guess... A Dawn Stone...? 'Cause, well... Hm...

When I first me the Captain I'd just lost a major tournament that meant a lot to me. I was just really down, so down in fact I got lost in the woods while training to try and make up for it and.. passed out. That's how Cap and Friede found me, and brought me to the ship to recover.

I was grateful and hung around but... Still had no motivation. I lost a lot of battle to the Captain, to Orla and Molly, I couldn't even beat Murdock... I was feeling awful..

Then one morning The Captain woke me up, just before the crack of dawn. I was so tired as I followed him to the top floor of the ship still in my pajamas, hair a mess, wondering what he could possibly need this early.

And up there I saw... The most beautiful sunrise I'd ever seen... Aboard the Brave Olivine it was like we were higher than the sun its self, and it was reaching to try and catch up to us.

That sight.. All of a sudden all I wanted to do was capture it. I wanted to paint it.

I hadn't painted in years, not sense my dad left me his Stoutland, Rusty, and told me to do what he couldn't and become a Champion. I'd given it all up to do what he'd wanted, but that dawn... it reminded me of what I really wanted to do.

So, uhm.. Yeah.. I guess I'd give him a Dawn Stone, to represent that morning...
