❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?
Bold of you to assume I can remember a single thing I've ever written 😭 This is the only one I could think of off the top of my head so I'm going with it:
[Ezra] seemed dark and inhospitable, not unlike the green moon, violent and unapologetic. But sometimes you found something beautiful and valuable underneath a dangerous surface, and [Cee] would treasure the bond she’d formed with Ezra more than any aurelac the green moon could produce.
This is from Chapter 3 of To see myself reflected in your eyes and anyone who knows me knows I'm a sucker for symbolism and that I'm obsessed with the art of choosing titles. This is my interpretation of a symbolic meaning for the title of Prospect.
👻 What is your wildest headcanon?
Maybe that the Pink Guy at the end of Prospect is the personification of the Dust/the Green? does something meta like that count?
I've never been more unhinged than THERE'S GOTTA BE A REASON THAT DUDE IS PINK.
🥳 Why did you start writing fanfic?
Let's see, I was 14 or 15 and my sister and I started watching reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer on tv. INSTANT. OBSESSION. We didn't know what fanfic was, but we needed MORE BUFFY. So we started writing stories from Buffy's POV, which eventually morphed into stories with OCs in the Buffy universe, which became progressively more chaotic as we crossed over with more and more shows lmao. I've written for Buffy, Angel, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Farscape, The Walking Dead, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals... but it wasn't until TLOU that I started publishing anything I wrote.
Okay I swear this is enough of angst/depressing stuff for now. We are going to move forward from here, one way or another and pick it back up.

Like the s/o is a walking heater even in the winter so I just imagine him clinging to them like a koala, being cold overruled the embarrassment
omg sure <3 that's so cute! I miss requests so much, thanks anon!
Winter Sniper X Y/N (G/N) *✧・゚
-Just like anon said Sniper comes to you for warmth, hugging you like a koala ^__^!! His face gets extremely flushed
-"I just got outta the cold! You think my face wouldn't be red?!" he says trying his best to scrunch his face to look less embarrassed. You feel his cold hands wrapped around your body and his fingers on your stomach. "Yeah right.."
-You always make him hot cocoa but when you tell him "it's hot" he never believes you
-until he burns his hands.
-You always tease this poor lad, for some reason as much as he layers up during the winter he's so cold for like no apparent reason!!
-He gets sick easily during this time and so he usually just lays in bed and eats the hot soup you made him until his cold is gone
-Cuddles 24/7- He gets super cranky if you leave him ;-; He just grunts and ignores you for the rest of the day
-His body might be ice cold when you don't cuddle or hug him but once you come back and spoon him from behind this man melts so quickly
-All his limbs and nerves just...loosen and he becomes jelly-like. The energy you radiate just allows him to become weak without any worry
-Gets jealous you play with snowballs with the rest of the mercs but he can't because of the weather
-You try to get him out by layering him in blankets and coats (he basically becomes this 6 foot layered blanket monster that can barely see anything)
-You make a hole in the middle for his face and you giggle at all the snowflakes that fall on his face
-when you kiss him on his cheek they disappear which makes him even more flushed. He cuddles you as you both watch the snow fall down
-"Aw c'mon Y/N you know I'll be freezing" "Mundy, please! Try it okay? It'd mean so much to me if you did~" You ask. Of course, asking like that he can't say no
-So even if he's getting frostbite he still will try to make an extravagant snowman! Or woman, or person-..
-Afterwards, you both go inside and lie on the floor next to the fireplace. You both are comfortable with the silence and so you both stay quiet as you both admire each other
-He holds you tightly and he whispers his sweet nothings in your ear <33
-You make him dance around in the hallways with the windows open to let all the little snow particles fall in! Hot enough to be enjoyable, cool enough to not get sweaty !!
-Because wintertime is such a cozy time Sniper is more open to things for some reason. He just has a habit of talking and be more considerate when you both are stuck in the house together
-He's usually the quiet one in the relationship but oh how he loves to talk your head off when you’re stuck inside with him
-talking about winter animals always cheers up his mood, his favorite are winter owls :3
That’s all I can think of right now, I’m tired.. sorry anon!!!! Have a good day!
DJ!!!! For Cerra (my beloved) could I ask from the 40 Q's for You OC Post?
- 8.) What's their favorite food?
- 13.) What's their comfort item? (Teddy, jacket, etc.)
- 24.) What's their favorite memory?
And for the spicy ones:
- 33.) What's the most risky place they've fucked?
Hello, my dear Archivist! Thank you for the ask! Okay, let's do this!
Cerra is so unpicky about food that she picked up a desiccated, half-eaten ration bar off the floor of the barracks and ate it. Kix nearly vomited. That being said, her favorite food is anything that Gregor cooks. She's not sure what it is about his food that makes it so delicious, but she will never, EVER turn down a meal from him.
Her comfort item is a carved plastoid ring that she keeps in one of her many pockets. She always knows exactly where it is, and when she's feeling particularly anxious, she'll shove her hands into her pockets so nobody notices her fidgeting with it.
Her favorite memory is this night out at 79's. She still has the holo that Kix took.
Mature below the cut! MDNI.
Listen, Cerra has very little sense of modesty or shame. She's been living in barracks and on warships since she was sixteen, and she barely even remembers what non-communal showers look like. She's not an exhibitionist, but Fives was, and pretty much nowhere was sacred. They spent so much time apart on their different deployments that whenever they got to spend time together, they fucked nasty at every opportunity.
That said, the riskiest place they ever fucked was in a meeting room right before a mission briefing one time when Fives was on assignment on the Ro-Ti-Mundi. They didn't get caught, but Odd Ball immediately knew what they'd been up to.

Silently, Anakin took the silent steps that had become familiar to him over these past few weeks. Normally, he had to wait for Obi-Wan to go to sleep–which was a task on most days–but Obi-Wan had night patrol tonight, so he only had to worry about the thousands of other potential Jedi who could or could not be wandering about the Temple at this hour.
He tapped out a message on his comm link, letting her know that he was on the way and would be there soon.
He walked from his personal quarters to the exit of his shared living space with Obi-Wan, anticipation and excitement at getting to see her quickening his pace and adding an admittedly childish bounce to his steps. Anakin raised his hand to open the door, crossing that final threshold–
“Going somewhere?”
Anakin almost fell to the floor.
“Master,” he exhaled, taking in the head that had appeared over the back of the couch. Obi-Wan’s eyes seemed to be glowing in the reflection of the midnight Coruscanti traffic lights. “I–I thought you had rotation tonight.”
“I traded with Master Mundi.”
“Oh,” said Anakin lamely. It seemed strange that Obi-Wan would give away the easiest shift at the Temple. Jedi only got rotated in about once a month what with the war starting and so many Jedi being off-world at once. Easy night patrol shifts didn’t come often.
Then, Anakin remembered that this conversation had started with a question.
A question he had no kriffing clue how to answer.
“Why are you sleeping out here?” Anakin parried, hoping his own question would make Obi-Wan forget his. He shifted away from the door.
“Oh, I’m afraid I haven’t gotten much sleep,” said Obi-Wan, running a tired hand across his face. “I was out here in hopes of catching you in the morning before you left.”
Anakin noticed something indistinguishable briefly shift on his face.
“I ship out at 0600,” said Anakin with a regretful shrug, one foot already pointed back toward the door. He just needed Obi-Wan to go to his room. “But I’ll be back in a few rotations. It’s just a supply run.”
“Even so, I wanted to speak with you sooner rather than later.”
Anakin’s stomach dropped.
Obi-Wan knew. He knew it all–the wedding, the Tuskens, everything.
“Today was...eventful for me,” continued Obi-Wan. “I wanted to run some things by you. Since you’re awake...I’d like to speak with you now, if it’s convenient.”
Convenient. What a funny word to say to a man who had just begun a secret marriage to the Senator of Naboo. Anakin wasn’t very familiar with things being convenient.
He glanced toward the door, thinking of his wife, waiting for him across the city. They hadn’t been married a full month yet, but midnight escapes to the Senatorial Residence had become the highlight of his day.
His gaze returned to Obi-Wan, who he realised looked a little out of sorts. His hair, normally groomed to perfection, looked as if it had had fingers ringing through it. His outer robe was tossed to the floor, instead of neatly folded or hung in his closet. Obi-Wan had a habit of losing his robes in battle, but never in their quarters. Anakin couldn’t think of a single time Obi-Wan had lost anything in their quarters that he was so adamant about keeping pristine.
“Of course,” said Anakin, his heart tightening. “We can talk now. I was just...going for a walk.”
“I’ll join you then,” said Obi-Wan, standing from the couch with a look of twisted relief and worry. That wasn’t like his master at all.
Anakin tapped out a quick message on the comm at his side and took a breath, hoping Padmé would understand.
They walked the halls for several minutes before Obi-Wan finally broke the silence.
“The Council spoke with me today.”
That wasn’t abnormal. With the war and Obi-Wan’s quick work of proving his military leadership prowess, Anakin’s former master had found himself meeting with the Council almost every day.
“That’s where I was at lunch.”
Anakin quirked an eyebrow and snuck a sideways look at the older Jedi. Even when he was training Anakin, Obi-Wan had never felt the need to notify his Padawan of his every routine detail. Anakin tagged along when he was instructed to do so and when he wasn’t, he didn’t ask questions. That was that.
It seemed weird that Obi-Wan would choose now to notify his former student of his whereabouts as if he owed Anakin any sort of explanation.
“All right,” said Anakin slowly. “I didn’t see you in the refectory, but it was no big deal. I was with Aayla anyway.”
“Good,” Obi-Wan nodded. “Good.”
When Obi-Wan didn’t elaborate, Anakin continued to lead the way down the halls. They passed a few nocturnal Jedi, but the Temple had been silenter than usual lately, even during the day. One of the side effects of its members being strewn about the galaxy, trying to hold the pieces of the Republic together.
“When I was a Padawan,” Obi-Wan began again, his breathing shallow and short, “Qui-Gon was faced with a big decision and he...he never told me. Well, that’s not quite fair,” he amended quickly. “He did tell me, but it was after the Chancellor had accidentally informed me.”
Anakin didn’t have any idea where Obi-Wan was going with this, so he stayed silent.
“I wouldn’t have admitted it at the time, but I was...hurt. I felt like Qui-Gon’s choice to not tell me on his own was a reflection of his lack of faith in me. I now see that was foolish.” He shook his head and Anakin was surprised to feel a twinge of regret emanating from Obi-Wan’s Force presence. He’d never sensed that in Obi-Wan before. “But, even so.” Obi-Wan took a deep breath and Anakin felt the energy between them neutralise with a zap, as if there had never been any regret at all. “I don’t want you to feel that way.”
“Master, I don’t–I don’t understand.”
“Right,” Obi-Wan took another breath. “Well, you see...the thing is–” he cleared his throat. Clearly stalling.
“Obi-Wan.”
“I’ve been asked to fill Master Billaba’s seat.”
Anakin stopped walking. “What? The Council? They...they asked you to join?”
Obi-Wan couldn’t seem to make eye contact with Anakin. “They did.”
“Master!” Anakin’s face split into a grin. “That’s amazing!”
The older Jedi looked up, hesitantly. “It...is?”
“What do you mean it...is?” Anakin scrunched his face, throwing an arm around Obi-Wan’s shoulders. “Yes, it is! That’s such an incredible honour!”
“Well, I suppose I rather thought you...wouldn’t approve.”
Anakin startled at that. Wouldn’t approve? Sure, Anakin had held some small frustrations with the Council over the years, but being asked to fill a Council seat was the highest honour in the Jedi Order. Surely Obi-Wan didn’t think Anakin wouldn’t want that for him.
“I don’t see why my approval matters. It’s your life, Obi-Wan.”
A touch of pain jumped across their bond, surprising Anakin. “I care about your opinion, Anakin. Always.”
Anakin had never considered this before. His former Master had never done anything to lead Anakin to believe he didn’t value Anakin’s thoughts and opinions, but he supposed he had been so accustomed to not being heard when he had first begun his apprenticeship, he’d never taken the time to see how different that was with Obi-Wan.
Looking back now, he realised Obi-Wan was absolutely right. He had always shown concern and care for Anakin’s opinion.
“You accepted, right?”
“I haven’t made a decision. I wanted to speak with you first.”
Once again, Anakin felt like he was punched in the gut with the weight of consideration Obi-Wan was paying him. “But you’re going to say yes...right?”
“Anakin,” said Obi-Wan with a flicker of an exasperated smile. “What part of I’d like to hear your opinion on this matter has been unclear?”
The younger knight blinked. “Oh. I...well, Master–you’re...you’re the greatest Jedi I know. The Council would be infinitely better because of you.” Then, because Obi-Wan had let his guards down and was dishing out the affirmations tonight, “As I am.”
“I–oh. Thank you, Anakin.” He didn’t seem to know what to do with his former apprentice’s words, but his eyes shone with gratitude and warmth. He hesitated, chewing on his lip. “So you...truly believe I could do it?”
Anakin had to catch himself from chuckling as he realised just how painfully nervous and insecure Obi-Wan was. He’d never seen him like this before.
It was comforting, seeing this unguarded humanity in his former master.
“Yes, Master. I don’t know anyone who could do it better.”
“Thank you, my pad–Anakin.”
Anakin grinned. He’d struggled more than Obi-Wan with the recent adjustment of his rank in the Order. “You’re welcome, Mas–Obi-Wan.”
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes and resumed their walk.
“Obi-Wan,” the younger Jedi called after him, his voice no longer teasing and light. Obi-Wan stopped and turned over his shoulder with raised eyebrows. “Thank you. For...caring about my opinion.”
Obi-Wan smiled, kindly, his eyes crinkling at their corners. “I am not as much fond of your opinion as I am fond of you, my friend.”

I love you Mundi 💜💜💜 I'm so glad we found each other too!! You're such a sweetheart and SUCH an incredible writer (Even Split, my BELOVED)
TLOU aside, the Prospect fandom is so small I was so happy to find you were already in it! <33 Thank you for screaming into the void with me 💜
Many thanks to @schoute for tagging me in this. I loved answering these questions as Eden. (And I'm going to try to do bold text and stuff with this post. I'm bad at the tumblr sometimes.)
1) What's your name?
Eden Mezzanine.
2) Do you know why you're named that?
*grin* Yeah, cause I picked it.
3) Are you single or taken?
Single. Very single.
4) Have any abilities or powers?
Well, I'm a witch, so... yeah. My primary gift lies with spirits--speaking to them, seeing them, calming them, anything to do with them. Any kind of spirit, too--of the dead, of the elements, any of it. You'd be surprised at what can lead to spirits.
Pale grey. I like to think they match an overcast sky.
7) How about your hair color?
Naturally, it's ash-blonde, and very curly. But I dye it fairly regularly. Most recently was strawberry-blonde. I might do something wild next, when it's all washed out.
8) Have any family members?
Like, blood family? Yeah, probably. Chosen family? ...not really. Though there's this one Mormon family that's kinda adopted me. I help them out with their resident poltergeist when he gets out-of-hand, and they always insist that I can come around whenever, but I don't like to bother them. Their kids are great, though.
9) Oh? What about any pets?
Sort of? I have some resident spirits in my house who like my plants and keep the peace there. Do they count?
10) That's cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don't like.
People who knowingly hurt or take advantage of others. You should know better. And be ashamed of yourself.
11) Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
Well, my job takes up most of my life. But I love going to the Market at Pike every morning to buy produce and supplies, and see the shineys and neat things the fae and other booth owners have to sell.
12) Have you hurt anyone in any way before?
We all have, at some point.
13) Ever...killed anyone before?
Not unless they were already dead. Or... well. I mean. My job takes me interesting places. And sometimes it toes the line of legality.
14) What kind of animal are you?
Hmm. That's an interesting one. Do you mean, like, a totem? Cause that's disrespectful to Native Americans. ...I guess, if I had to pick one... one of the North American wildcats. More aloof than their domestic cousins, alluring even if they don't want to be, and dangerous. Maybe a lynx or a bobcat.
15) Name your worst habits?
I stay up way too late and wake up too early. How I function on as little sleep as I get is a mystery. And I tend to keep people at a distance. There are people I trust, but I don't really let anyone in.
16) Do you look up to anyone at all?
Myself. I've been through Some Shit, lemme tell ya, and I've come out of it stronger and better than when I went in. And the Spook Squad--Seattle PD's Supernatural Provision. Whole bunch of mundies, the lot of them, but they're determined to do the right thing for the paranormal community within the confines of the law. That's hard to do.
17) Are you gay, straight, or bisexual?
I guess straight? I've only ever been attracted to male-identified/aligned individuals. I mean, I meet a lot of fae and elves, and some of them are pretty fluid, so if there were feelings, I wouldn't say 'no', it just... hasn't happened yet, you know?
18) Do you go to school?
Pffft. No.
19) Ever want to marry and have kids one day?
Heh. Yeah, no, not really. I'd have to let someone in enough to even *date*, first, which isn't bloody likely, so...
20) Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?
My repeat clients are pretty fond of me. And even my non-repeats. I got a good reputation around here, all from talk.
21) What are you most afraid of?
*cold stare* That. Is not. For you to know.
22) What do you usually wear?
Jeans, a shirt appropriate to the weather, maybe a jacket, and boots or Chucks. And my satchel, or course.
23) What one food tempts you?
Ohhhh, the cakes and ale at Tornincasa's, easily. Every time. Oh! And a good Caprese salad. So light and fresh. Mmmm.
24) Am I annoying you?
Not really, I mean, this *is* an interview, and I agreed to it, so... whatever.
25) Well, it's still not over!
Okay, then. What else you got?
26) What class are you (low, middle, high)?
Financially? Middle-ish, I guess. Middle-high?
27) How many friends do you have?
I don't really have "friends". More like "trusted associates".
28) What are your thoughts on pie?
It's a very versatile kind of dish. I love a good shepherd's pie, or hand pies, so I can eat on the go. Sweet pies are alright, in moderation. I usually do one slice to be polite if it's being offered, but they're not my go-to. It's hard to eat a whole one when you live alone.
29) Favorite drink?
The "ale" at Tornincasa's--it's actually a warmed, lightly sweetened milk. Also my teas and tinctures, and water. I'll occasionally do coffee. This *is* Seattle, after all--to not drink coffee is basically blasphemy.
30) What's your favorite place?
My home, and my psychic temple, which is where I go when I meditate.
31) Are you interested in anyone?
Not in any serious way. But... well... *leans forward and smirks conspiratorially* Have you ever seen Detective Stone, in the Spook Squad? He's pretty cute. I never mind talking with him. Even when he thinks I'm a suspect.
32) That was a stupid question...
Well, more of a teenage one, but hey, we were all stupid when we were teens.
33) Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
The ocean, generally. Puget Sound is especially... well, it's something. I'm not sure I could explain. But it's magical, and soothing. Salt water is powerful stuff.
34) What's your type?
The law-and-order types, I guess. *laughs* Ironic.
35) Any fetishes?
I dunno, what counts as a fetish? Never mind, don't answer that.
36) Camping indoors or outdoors?
I've done both, and they both have their merits and downfalls. I'll do either, if I have to, but I prefer my own home and bed, hands-down.
...wait, no more? *That's* what you're gonna end this interview on? *Camping*? What kind of weird-ass interview was this?
Anonym hat gesagt: i love your art so much dude holy SHIT its so inspiring each time you post a new piece c ries
oh man thanks a lot ;_;
Anonym hat gesagt: it is very difficult to convey all my love for you and your art, when I'm from Russia and almost do not know English. But, your work is the best that has happened to me :) I love the colors of your art and the emotions of your characters. I fucking love a spy and a sniper !!! without jokes - you are incredible;) and I wanted to ask, do you think the spy can play a musical instrument and he would like the sniper saxophone?
hey! i’m really sorry for the late reply, i kind of wanted to keep your note in my inbox until i found the time to draw some musical sniperspy action, but i never really got to it... i’ll try to catch up on this!
and thank you so, so much for your amazing words, they make me incredibly happy!
to return to the subject: i imagine the RED spy playing the piano (the cheesy old stereotype) and BLU spy being really good with the guitar, like some fingerpicking blues style, and he of course likes to jam with good old mick mundy
also your english is great! and thank you so much for writing me even when it’s sometimes hard to find the right words (which you absolutely did, thank you so much again <33)
Anonym hat gesagt: Hi, I just wanted you to know you’re my art goal.
aww man thanks anon <33 made my day

The best Brownlow count in years… shame thousands couldn’t see it thanks to streaming debacle
Port Adelaide star Ollie Wines claimed the 2021 AFL Brownlow Medal in the most exciting count in quite some time… but an archaic TV rights situation meant many footy fans couldn’t watch a minute of it.
Here are the big talking points out of the AFL’s night of nights.
7Plus… minus all the good stuff
The integration of streaming services into everyday life has now given people an expectation that whatever they want to watch is now just a click away. With Kayo Sports a staple of every self-respecting sports fan’s monthly expenses, plus new faces such as Stan Sport and Paramount+ entering the market, we’ve grown accustomed to simply booting up our laptops or opening our phones and tuning in.
But it seems Channel Seven – and the AFL – aren’t with the program, as it were. Because the first indication for thousands – if not more – Australians that something was amiss was when they logged onto Seven’s streaming service, 7Plus, for the Brownlow count – only to find no trace of it.
Great news for Border Security fans, to be sure… but AFL lovers everywhere were left feeling rightly jilted.
We only have smart TVs and there’s no #brownlow on @7plus WTF. Also no paid streaming option via @AFL either… how is this a thing in 2021?! @Channel7

I'm trying to stream the Brownlow on 7Plus (forgive me, I'm in lockdown!). But I'm getting Border Security instead. Either Peter Dutton is about to cause a big boil over by beating the Bont or something is going wrong here?#Brownlow

Can any ???? experts explain @7AFL’s logic in not making its #BrownlowMedal coverage available on @7plus? There must be a reason…
— Marc McGowan ????✍️???????????????? (@ByMarcMcGowan) September 19, 2021
The reason why is simple: Seven don’t have streaming rights for any of their AFL-related content. After Telstra ended their AFL Live Pass access at the beginning of 2021, they now belong exclusively to Foxtel and Kayo Sports … who, as it happens, can show everything EXCEPT the two biggest events on the calendar. Namely: the Brownlow Medal and this Saturday’s grand final, which are the sole domain of Seven.
It took Seven until the count started to notify expectant fans venting on Twitter that they wouldn’t be able to stream the count on 7Plus.
PSA: due to rights restrictions, the #BrownlowMedal cannot be streamed on 7plus.
You can watch live and free on Channel 7.
— 7AFL (@7AFL) September 19, 2021
While the network took the lion’s share of the blame on social media last night, they’re not solely to blame for the shemozzle. It’s a farce in this day and age that supposedly the biggest sporting competition in Australia can prevent a network from live-streaming an event it has exclusive access to. Can you imagine Channel Nine doing the same with the State of Origin series?
Fixing the contract up must be a priority for the AFL, and surely will be after Monday night’s debacle. It’s a shame it comes as too little, too late for many fans left in the lurch.

And fair warning – unless you’ve got access to a special set-top box in this list, you’re going to need to break out the ‘rabbit ears’ to catch the grand final on Saturday night.
Ollie Wines – Brownlow Medallist, and straight-up savage
Heading in as the favourite after an outstanding season, averaging over 32 disposals in Port Adelaide’s run to the preliminary final, Wines secured his place among the game’s elite with a maiden Brownlow, for himself and the club.
Fascinatingly, he did it despite the very thing that arguably gave him that favouritism – a lack of teammates to take votes off him – being flipped on its head. Where Melbourne stars Clayton Oliver and Christian Petracca were expected to drag each other down, and ditto Bulldogs pair Marcus Bontempelli and Jack Macrae; it was Wines’ partner in crime Travis Boak’s 25 votes which was the highest club runner-up tally of the night.
Boak’s outstanding polling, particularly early in the night, makes Wines’ achievement of equalling Dustin Martin’s record of 36 votes all the more impressive. In 16 of 22 games, he was deemed to be among the three best players afield – a record he now holds on his own.

Sealing the result with two votes on Bontempelli’s Bulldogs in Round 23, the unassuming country lad from Echuca, in Victoria’s north, then proceeded to win the footy world over with plenty of blunt honesty in his victory speech.
When notified by host Basil Zempilas of his record-equalling haul, Wines responded simply: “I’m not sure about the numbers, but 36 sounds like a lot.”
Always a keen footy fan, his favourite player growing up was another Echuca product in former Carlton swingman Andrew Walker; he’d reveal a hilarious anecdote about a call to radio station 3AW in “the early 2000s” to talk about his idol with legendary caller Rex Hunt.

Wines then had them rolling in the aisles when he singled out a few Power teammates who had tagged along to Perth, despite little chance of polling many votes themselves.
“We’ve got a really good crew come over tonight. A lot of the boys jumped on because I was a bit of chance, so I’m sure they’ll enjoy the night.
“There were a lot of guys who weren’t a chance of polling votes – Tom Clurey… he asked for the after party invite, so he’s got that!”
Finishing off the night with an impromptu phone call from Power president David Koch, the Brownlow will surely be some consolation for Wines after his team’s preliminary final defeat to the Bulldogs.
It certainly was for his family.

Forget ‘midfielder’s medal’, the Brownlow is a ‘favourite’s medal’
The last non-midfielder to win the Brownlow was Sydney legend Adam Goodes back in 2003 – and he was a ruckman who would win another ‘Charlie’ as a midfielder three years later.
It’s no secret that the AFL’s most prestigious award is now exclusively the domain of the on-ballers. When Taylor Walker’s 9 votes is the most by any permanent forward, and Tom Stewart’s 8 the highest by a backman, you’ve got yourself a pretty clear discrepancy.
However, in recent years the line has been pushed even further: it’s no longer enough to just be a midfielder to take home the Brownlow. Now, unless you’re one of the red-hot favourites being touted as a chance for months leading into the night, you might as well enjoy a cup of tea and turn in for an early night.
Since Matt Priddis took home a surprise Brownlow in 2014, six of the seven medals have been won by the pre-count favourite. Wines, albeit a far closer-run choice among pundits than the overwhelming fancies of Patrick Dangerfield, Dustin Martin and Lachie Neale in recent years, polled accordingly.
Don’t get me wrong: Wines, and those before him, are all indisputably worthy winners for outstanding seasons. But was his season really so astounding as to merit a Brownlow-record 36 votes (tied with Martin’s 2017 tally) and SIXTEEN appearances in the best three on the ground? You could say the same for Neale in 2020, who was adjudged by the umpires as best man afield ten times in seventeen home-and-away rounds, for a tally of 31.
Perhaps the most glaring example of this is at the Western Bulldogs. Runner-up Marcus Bontempelli finished narrowly second behind Wines with 33 votes; while teammate and disposal machine Jack Macrae, the man who this year broke the record for the most disposals ever in an AFL season, finished with… 12.
Not saying he should be leading but….
Umpires, let me introduce Jack Macrae. 12 votes!!?? pic.twitter.com/CTQ8P1TDTF

Suggestions that the umpires have enough on their plate to be awarding Brownlow votes as well are fair, but it’s not going to rectify this situation. The obsession with the game’s biggest stars in the weekly cycle that is AFL media has made it just about impossible to head into a game without your eye being automatically drawn to the Bontempellis, the Wineses, the Dangerfields. If they’ve been the hot topics on every footy show all weekend long and then rack up 30 touches, regardless of their effectiveness, is anyone surprised when they continue to poll so spectacularly? All the while, the efforts of not just the gun forwards, backs and ruckmen of the game, but now the unassuming Macrae-style midfielders too, go largely ignored.
For better or for worse, it seems we’re stuck with this trend. A bunch of hot candidates in 2021 at least made it interesting… but another Neale-esque count rout next year would be less than ideal.
History made as records crumble by the bucketload
Has a Brownlow ever produced so many new records? Well, the first one maybe, and those ones where two umpires gave the votes, but you get the idea.
We’ll start with the obvious ones: Wines’ 36 votes equals Dusty’s highest-ever haul, while his 16 vote-winning games stands alone.
It was a massive night for all the other top contenders, too; with Wines, Bontempelli (33), Oliver (31) and Carlton sensation Sam Walsh (30), it was the first Brownlow ever to feature four tallies in the 30s. The previous best? Two – between Martin and Patrick Dangerfield in 2017, Dane Swan and Sam Mitchell in 2011, and – one from the archives – Collingwood’s Des Fothergill and South Melbourne’s Herbie Matthews in 1940.
Speaking of old-timers, the ageless David Mundy became the oldest man ever to poll more than 20 votes, getting to 20 on the dot at the age of 36. Not to be outdone, 33-year old Travis Boak (25 votes) is now the oldest man to poll 25 or higher.
But it wasn’t a big night for others. Collingwood defender and premiership Bulldog Jordan Roughead set a new bar for the most games without a single vote, at 192. He beat out the previous holder, Geelong’s Tom Lonergan (191)… who was thrilled to pass on the baton.

Disappointingly, though, one eight-year streak came to an end with Wines’ win. Lift your game, Echuca.
Echuca has a McDonalds, so the streak is over. https://t.co/8j0jB3xxJ4

I for the ask thing, just an over all unless you want a specific character.
Like... All of them?? Hell yeah I’ll do Peter because I loVE Peter
This is going to be hella long so.... Get ready
1: What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do?Probably a very short amount of time.... He has like, a lot of energy
2 How easy is it for your character to laugh? Its hella easy to make him laugh!! He is almost always laughing and smiling... He is a very positive fella
3: How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?) Either thinking or playing his flute or pipes!!
4: How easy is it to earn their trust? Its pretty easy, especially since he is oblivious to a lot of things, including bad ones
5: How easy is it to earn their mistrust? Not sure???? Probably a little harder, but not really hard.
6: Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable? he definitely considers them flexible.
7: What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling? Probably things like jungles, treehouses, other kind of nature things... and yeah!! He likes the feeling!!
8: What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a childA LOT of things... He was a big trouble maker. Mostly was told not to do things like, something dangerous, doing/saying something too quickly, getting into fights, that sort of thing. and the thing he was told to start doing most???? Grow up
9: Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?Yeah he swears as much as the next guy tbh, but probably doesnt remember his friend swear because he has been living for so long
10: What lie do they most frequently remember telling? Does it haunt them? He’s actually a pretty honest guy!!! He even tells the mundies that he’s Peter Pan, but he’s actually like.... Pretending, to pretend he’s Peter Pan??? So when someone is being 100% serious when asking if he actually is, he lies and says that he isn’t. But I think the lies that actually haunt him, maybe not now, but definitely when he was still married to his wife, was that he actually still liked her and continued to stay with her
11: How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)? He would try really really hard to understand, but if he cant, then he’ll pretend to understand
12: How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach? He would ask people to get it for him, and probably make the other person feel hella awkward wile he’s just like “Thank u pal”
13: What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color? Green!! He thinks and does look best in green!!!
14: What animal do they fear most? He doesn’t fear animals that much actually??? I think the only time he would be afraid of an animal is if they’re acting aggressive towards him tbh
15: How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first? Its always. on the spot. He almost never thinks it out. The only time he thinks of it out is if he has time and if its something he’s nervous about, but even then, he usually doesn't come out the way he wanted
16: What makes their stomach turn? When people believe the rumors/lies told about his childhood, things that make him super nervous, thinking about things he has to admit sooner or later, those kind of things
17: Are they easily embarrassed? No, not really :0
18: What embarrasses them? When people talk about embarrassing things he did, especially if its in front of someone like Boy Blue. He gets awkward embarrassed
19: What is their favorite number? 18 maybe :0
20:If they were asked to explain the difference between romantic and platonic or familial love, how would they do so?“Alrighty, so romantic love is like... When you love someone, and you like, want to date them and get married and kiss them and fuck them and whatnot. Platonic love is where you’re like, ‘DAMN! I LOVE MY FRIEND!!’ but not in the romantic way. You just like them as a friend. Familial love is, y’know, you love your parents??? Your kids???? Your siblings?????? Its close to platonic but also... not....”
21:Why do they get up in the morning? His job. Boy Blue.
22:How does jealousy manifest itself in them (they become possessive, they become aloof, etc)? Depends... If he was jealous abt someone interacting with Blue, then yeah, he might be a little possessive or/and aloof, but he’ll probably just show off in front of the other person, make them feel like a third wheel
23:How does envy manifest itself in them (they take what they want, they become resentful, etc)? He usually just... Tries to let it pass.... But might... just might..... become resentful..... But it would be rare
24: Is sex something that they’re comfortable speaking about? To whom? Yeah he’s totally fine with it. I think the only time he would be uncomfortable about talking about it is with straight people. Especially straight girls. Unless its about him doing it, then its fine
25: What are their thoughts on marriage? He’s fine w it!!! He gets married himself! :0
26: What is their preferred mode of transportation? He just... takes a car..... But in places like the farm (and if/when he goes to the homelands), he likes to fly!!!
27: What causes them to feel dread? His friends being hurt.... He gets so scared when his friends are hurt
28: Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth? Nah, he’s used to the unpleasant truth, so he would want that instead of a lie
29: Do they usually live up to their own ideals? Sure!!! He’s got a boyfriend and a good job, he doesn’t really have any ideals past that???? He is also pretty powerful, so thats a plus
30: Who do they most regret meeting? ProbablyMargaret
31: Who are they the most glad to have met?:All of his friends!!!
32: Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke? Probably a joke most of the time, but also sometimes has childhood stories that he had just remembered
33: Could they be considered lazy? No!!! He is always busy doing his job!!! He is usually always doing something
34: How hard is it for them to shake a sense of guilt? Not hard probably fndjsbkds he’ll probably just end up forgetting about it......
35: How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive? He gets excited with them!!! He’s so happy they’re happy!!!!!!
36:Do they actively seek romance, or do they wait for it to fall into their lap? He usually waits, but if he sees a cute guy he’ll be like *eye emoji* and go flirt with him or something
37:Do they have a system for remembering names, long lists of numbers, things that need to go in a certain order (like anagrams, putting things to melodies, etc)? Nah.... He actually has a kind of bad memory and easily forgets names
38:What memory do they revisit the most often? His childhood adventures!!!
39:How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people? Pretty easy tbh
40:How sensitive are they to their own flaws? He isn’t sensitive abt them that often, pretty much the only time he is is if someone pointed them out. Other than that, he’s oblivious
41:How do they feel about children? He loves them!!!! Pretty much the only reason he pretends, to pretend to be Peter Pan, is so when he’s cutting a kid’s hair, he can get them all happy and excited n stuff....
42:How badly do they want to reach their end goal? I dont think??? He really has one??? Its hard for fables to have an “end goal” because they live for so long
43: If someone asked them to explain their sexuality, how would they do so? He just... Tells them he only likes men..... He’s gay..... (I wont explain his backstory on it rn because.... spoilers....)
Questions for the creator!!
A) Why are you excited about this character? He just... Makes me and others(????) happy!! Some of my friends can relate to him n stuff and that gets me excited
B) What inspired you to create them?I had always wanted to make a Fables oc that was Peter Pan, so I did!! Peter Pan is like..... one of my favorite fables......
C) Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?Nah, not really :00
D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?He has changed a little, but not much!!! Though his first concept art is.... Ugly.....
E) Are they someone you would get along with? Would they get along with you?Yeah I think I would get along w him..... We got a lot in common in a way
F) What do you feel when you think of your OC (pride, excitement, frustration, etc)?I am.... So happy.............. When thinking about him........
G) What trait of theirs bothers you the most?Idk if this is what this means but uhh.... He was born a human, yeah???? But when/after he was raised by fairies, he’s half fairy???? Im thinking that the fairies like.... Changed him...... idk
H) What trait do you admire most?Is it safe to say??? All?????? I cant think of one........
I) Do you prefer to keep them in their canon universe?Hell yeah I do
J) Did you have to manipulate or exclude canon factors to allow them to create their character?Dude we are.... Changing so much of canon Fables for our comic..... Not for him, just in general
