#thank you tumblr #tumblr live #just learned today that the boiler we had installed last December when the old one blew up and backed up on us and flooded the kitchen #was installed poorly and is leaking water and is technically unsafe because of a missing bracket/arm which means it's not sealed #and because it's 12+ months after the work was done (just!!) we can't make a claim through checkatrade #for the shitty work #it was already two grand's worth of outlay last year and it's gonna be a lot to get the shitty work fixed and made safe/right #i hate adulting #ghosti's ranting in the tags #but yeah at least tumblr live is going! #whooo #thank you staff for listening

I've gone into lengths before about them but i think my view of them changed a little since then, esp since i understand both of their characters much better.

it all still comes down to how tragic their relationship is. from both sides, a person you used to care so deeply about now sees you as a traitor, a monster, and you can do very little to change it now because of the circumstances of war. pharma lost his mind in control being taken away from him, drowning in his mistakes and knowing that there's no more way back, while Ratchet has to reminisce on how things could've been different if he was just there for him for once.

at the same time, would've their relationship really remained unscathed even if things wouldve gone differently? would've their affection been enough for things to work?

love is there but it wouldn't change an outcome.

you should check if the image already has alt text before adding yours, like in boy in a jar post and moon blinkie posts for example

Alt text doesn't really work on mobile, and not everyone who needs an image description uses programs that read alt text. If an image isn't properly accessible, I'm not going to check if it's accessible if you go through a thousand different hoops (the process of which requires I go through a thousand different hoops myself), I'm just going to add the accessibility aid. If creators want to help out, they can add the image descriptions themselves so I don't have to, but alt text alone does not solve the accessibility issue.

On a related note, if anyone is interested, some of our system members have a specific sideblog for adding image descriptions to posts without them! It's @kitty-descriptions. While we don't post often there, we do our best to give accurate descriptions to everything we reblog.

#thanks for the ask! #IDs are also just. a lot more useful to the general userbase of this site #sometimes images are taken down by tumblr staff or don't load #IDs allow the information from those images to remain even when the image itself doesn't #and it's friendlier to those who may have issues with alt text (that I didn't already mention) #for example those with ADHD may find it easier to read a transcript than listen to alt text #accessibility should not just be for a small audience that you approve of #who have to put in extra work to access the accessibility #that just misses the whole point
