Some s1 kids/kiddads art of an au im working my mind out on! basically a typical fantasy/faerun type au but my own little twist on it :))

heres some info cards about them in this specific universe as well as some rambling:

im also probably gonna make one of these for the dads as well because this au has become some brainrot lol, i had a lot of fun designing lark and sparrows outfits because i always imagine oakvale wear being white gold and green so i kinda really leaned into with that. Nick as a tiefling is fun and silly to me teehee, as well as terry jr as a vampire. Its just a bunch of magical people and then grant lmao

i like terry and ron having a found family type of bond, and i promise ron will end up meeting samantha at some point lol, and i have a lot of notes about ron's character because of his background and everything, they aren't all supposed to fit into specific dnd archetypes or classes, but some of them like sparrow, nick, and terry have actual dnd classes lol, im really just fucking around with the loose concept of faerun, tbh i kinda see nick as both a bard and a fighter type of character? yk?

the necklaces with the single green bead that both lark and sparrow wear actually hold some cultural meaning for oakvale that im still working on, but i came up with the concept a while back so we'll see if i decide to talk about it

their stories do end up intertwining but this is the basic background info about their stories, and there will be more revealed when i get into making the s1 dads info cards as well.

terry and the twins probably took the longest to color and draw because of how many details are on both of them, especially terry's parasol bc i drew that without looking up a reference so i do hope it actually looks like an umbrella...nick was a bit hard to draw just because his face is partially covered and grant was actually fairly easy and i love how his design came out since ive been attempting to figure out a s1/teen design for him for a bit, obviously this isn't it because he's in fantasy attire but it's close enough that i have the gist of the idea..i made him look so pale lol, i imagine carol is pretty pasty and darryl isn't too tan either so...white boy is very white indeed

The Locket - A Supernatural Lark/Terry AU

Bringing out a brand new au for Halloween week Day 3 Werewolves! Summary:

After his father is murdered by an elusive vampire, a young adult Terry--raised a wizard--jumps straight into the life of a monster hunter. He charges and stumbles through his quest for both vengeance and closure... And meets a brash, rather rude, and... ruggedly charming werewolf along the way. The two team up after several run-ins and a realization that their families seem to be connected to each other and that vampire. Connected by what? On the day of his dad's death, both he and his mother noticed Terry Sr's locket necklace had been stolen. Ripped from his neck.. A special engraved and enchanted locket that looks exactly like the one Lark wears around his neck! ---- This AU is still in progress but here's three sections of it so far (below the cut) :D

Beginnings Born to two wizards, a Mr. and Mrs. Stevens, Terry Jr was living an average, pleasantly magical life and looking forward to helping out with his family's shop when he got older... Until tragedy struck a few months after his 20th birthday, leaving only his grieving mother, himself, and the all too quiet Terry Sr. resting in a coffin...not a drop of blood or life in him. A vampire had come for him while he was at the shop. One folks knew, but no one dare speak about. Even to a son that had just lost his dad. Instead of continuing his studies to prepare to take over the shop, Terry impulsively becomes a monster hunter instead. The kind of person he'd only read about in stories before. He dedicates much time traveling during the day, for supplies and info. But switching from scholar to hunter in search a short amount of time was no easy task. It was hard to keep up with every little detail on what being may be weak to what ingredient or material. And that's trouble leads him to his first encounter with a certain wolf in the nearby forest. ----

First Meeting Terry gets into an argument with his mother. She is worried but he feels like giving up the search would be giving up on his dad altogether. He rushes out at night to clear his head and has forgotten its a full moon. The young man accidently interrupts hunting time--and ends up being chased away. When only one wolf keeps up with him the further he goes, he tries to confront the beast. Coming to a full-stop and tossing a ball of garlic at its howling mouth-- Only for the werewolf to pause and then gulp the ingredient down. Shit, right, werewolf goes with silver not garlic. Terry expects the being to lunge, but instead the creature staring back at him somehow has this vibe that it's smirking at him, Laughing. He glares, ears flushed and runs off while the wolf is still in a good mood. ---

"Huh, you're shorter than I expected." Basically, the two keep running into each other but only when Lark's in wolf or the stronger/ferocious werewolf form. They've exchanged names via speech (Terry) and written (Lark). The two bicker at times and find a friend in each other other times. Lark's mostly stuck around due to amusement and that Terry...seems so knowledgeable and passionate. Just not about the monster hunter stuff that he seems to be so set on right now. (He sees a bit of himself in that same situation...) Anyways, Lark's family always hunts far from their home as a safety precaution. So, Terry's never been over in that town where Lark's living his daily life. Until this point in the au, where Terry Jr's come to town to get some ingredients for his mom from the Oak-Garcia farm. He meets Sparrow first--friendly, polite, an eerie glint in their eyes. The wolf ears do distract from that though. It seems the family were some kind of werewolves. As weary as he was, he trusted his mom's judgment. The purchasing goes well and right after he uses a transport spell to zap the stuff to his mom's front door... Another man is suddenly holding him up by the collar. With a near similar face to the polite person from earlier. Bright green eyes, furrowed eyebrows, and flared wolf ears. The features seemed familiar in away Sparrow's had not. "What are you--Did you follow me here? You've never done that before...should have never trusted a wizard." "...Lark, is that really you? " "Why are you acting like you don't know, Terry? How are you here if you don't--" "Huh, hm...h-huh, with you holding me up this high...I can see you're shorter than I expected?" Lark lets him down after that, probably saying 'yeah, bet I'm a lot stronger too' with a grumble and a tail wag which Terry would say is cute but he's not testing his luck further that day haha Both talk a little to reach an understanding that Terry's there by coincidence and not out of malice. This is hinted to have happened to this oak-garcia family before. With the scar on Lark's right cheek and one on Sparrow's left hand etc ...To be continued!

So, Terry Jr. TJ. Teej. *begins weeping*

First impression: A little bit of a brat. Somewhat understandable between juggling teenage angst and adjusting to Ron's, uh, Ron-ness (affectionate <3), but would it kill him to be a little nicer about it? :/

Impression now: THAT'S MY FUCKING SON AND I MISS HIM TERRIBLY!!! So sick and twisted of Anthony to do that to him 😭😭😭 He's been through so much and he just wants to be there for his stepdaughter like his stepfather was there for him and!!!! Dissolves into a puddle of tears.

Favorite moment: Either the entire Thing that was the end of Tower of Terry or when he spotted Scary picking up the lunch he made for her and smiled about it :') I love him so much

Idea for a story: Hhhhhh this is one I've been meaning to actually write for a bit and have talked about a ton on Discord but! AU with seasoned vampire Terry Jr attempting to take fledgling vampire Scary under his wing. Scary is Not Having It, obviously (and is even MORE adamantly against it once she figures out he's coincidentally the new guy her mom's been seeing), but eventually she falls super ill bc she hasn't had blood in awhile and so Terry guiltily takes care of her while she's too out of it to argue. It only further complicates things that they were both Turned by the same man (Willy Stampler, obviously). They end up having a bit of a heart-to-heart on what it is to be a monster and how to live with yourself when you have to kill to stay alive sometimes and when you have the knowledge that you'll outlive everyone you know and love. Terry has no idea if she'll remember any of this conversation once she gets a good day's rest, but it feels like something of a breakthrough to him :')

Unpopular opinion: Hmmm idk the general opinion the fandom has bc it seems like things are mixed rn. The only "unpopular" option that's coming to mind for him right now is him just. Not coming back. But I do want him to come back in some way, so??? Hm. Oh! I think it would be cool if he switched classes between seasons from a caster to more of a fighter - not ONLY would it explain why Anthony is constantly referring to him as a "swordboy" and why he hasn't cast a single spell, it also gives him another parallel with Scary - they have both given up some element of the past selves (Scary, her peppy persona, Terry, his wizardry) in order to pursue what they think will serve them best. Also, it's quite possible that Terry associates his talent for learning magic with his trauma from Faerun and is attempting to distance himself from that (his mother is a therapist, after all, so I think that if one of the kiddads is going to make a single choice in favor of their own mental wellbeing, it's probably him). Anyway. Is this anything.

Favorite relationship: Terry and Scary I think! They just mirror each other in SUCH interesting and complex ways and episode 36 has only further solidified that for me 🥰

Favorite headcanon: Not so much a headcanon as a series of predictions, but I LOVE the idea of Terry coming back as a vampire. I also saw someone mention the possibility of Terry coming back as an Aasimar, which would be soooooo fucking neat, especially since it draws an interesting dichotomy between himself and Nicky. Angel/demon imagery and all that. I can already feel the desire to make Terrick content if that ends up being the case. That said, I hope he comes back and I hope he comes back Wrong :)))

“Wooooow look how nice this is decorated Scary!” Terry Jr. remarks as he shuffles into the gymnasium with his step daughter. Scary rolls her eyes and sighs propping up at a tall table. “ No, this is lame Terry. I also told mom that I’m not letting you betroth me or whatever at this lame dance.” Terry sighs, “Scary that’s not the point of brining you to the fae mixer… It’s dangerous to be without allies especially since your mother wants you to finish high school in the human realm,” “WELL then why did you say I had to meet some prince whoever?! Do all vampires drag their kids to parade them around?” Terry grimaces and puts his hands in his pocket “ You shouldn’t speak ill of the dead Scary, my dad never took me to a mixer because he never got the chance too. For the record, The god of Scams is an extremely powerful ally to have, so please try to be nice to his son”

Welll… that’s the exchange I had going on between these two in my head at the time. Still on my Cryptid AU kick! @apathetic-microwave @birdifulhuman-blog the creators behind it! I think the idea of all the S2 cast being dragged into a mixer which is how they all meet instead of detention is a fun idea :)

your morgan was the new catalyst for sending the moms into the forgotten realms post is SO good bc that totally make sense! like the reason mercedes and co went was bc henry asked her to gather up all her friends right(??) add on to that glenn as jodies last phone call to her and 😭 thats Heartbreaking. morgan..........................

(also, relistening to tj's arc, out of all the emotional gut punches all i think about is that stupid your welcome buisness card 😭 like hello..? who is doin favors for the local vampire)

YEAH I'M ACTUALLY LOSING MY MIND OVER IT but okay so i looked back at a bunch of the transcripts for episodes bc i simply don't have the time to listen to every single episode again BUT what i found was that essentially, henry first lets mercedes know about the forgotten realms around the terry jr. arc, in which she says she's going to gather a coven of witches on her end to try to open a portal or something to get them all home, and then like 20 episodes later when they find the mummies in the pyramid mercedes' letter says that after 10 years earth time, the coven she put together discovered a huge spike in magic energy or something at the mummy ride at universal and that she gathered the other moms to go investigate, hoping it would open a portal like she always thought it might.

unfortunately what ACTUALLY happens is they all get stuck in a weird time dimension and for like another 10 years and weird time shit happens and it loses me here every time bc i'm not a fan of time travel stuff but basically, if in this new universe where morgan is jodie's wife and she ALSO knows about the forgotten realms (and carol too sorta?) the chance that the four moms go to the pyramid together far earlier on because jodie stops picking up morgan's calls is Much Higher, the au potential is limitless, i'm literally unable to think about anything else
