I know we're just pretending, there's no window for escape I know you see right through me, there's no promise left to break
Shot the pretty boy, killed him on commodore Need a new game, need a new something more Got a new face got a new way to score Got a voice like something I've heard before The Birthday Massacre - Video Kid

THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE (abbreviated TBM) is a Canadian band that fuses elements of new wave, gothic rock, electronic rock and dark wave, formed in 1999 in London, Ontario, and currently based in Toronto, Ontario. When the band first formed they were known as “Imagica”. This name was inspired by the fantasy novel Imajica (1991) by Clive Barker. In 2002, they changed it to The Birthday Massacre after one of their earlier songs in order to avoid confusion with another group. The song “The Birthday Massacre” was then renamed to “Happy Birthday”. According to their vocalist Chibi: "it kind of works well for the music that we're making. Sort of contrasty, you know? Birthday, and massacre. Light, and dark. Cute, and evil.” They have released nine studio albums: Nothing and Nowhere (2002), Violet (2005), Walking With Strangers (2007), Pins and Needles (2010), Hide and Seek (2012), Superstition (2014), Under Your Spell (2017), Diamonds (2020), and Fascination (2022).They also issued the DVD Blue (2005), the live album/DVD Show and Tell (2009), the demo album Imagica, and the EPs Violet (2004), Looking Glass (2008), Imaginary Monsters (2011). Current members: Sara "Chibi" Taylor – lead vocals (1999–present) Michael Rainbow – rhythm guitar, programming, backing vocals (1999–present) Michael Falcore – lead guitar, programming (1999–present) Owen Mackinder – keyboards, keytar (2005–present) Philip Elliott – drums (2018–present) Brett Carruthers – bass, backing vocals (2019–present), live keyboards (fall 2004) I saw them live on March 1st, 2022 and it was my first live show, as well as getting to interact with them during a meet and greet. They are my favorite music group, been listening since 2009 as I became a fan overnight.

feminine apollo headcanons
Feminine Apollo best Apollo! I always imagine he's genderfluid so on days where he's feeling more feminine:
- he likes to wear dresses, not the modern kind but those older styles with the flower patterns and laces, or any kind of skirt
- likes Greek dresses
- loves styling his hair or braiding other people's
- loves wearing jewellery and necklaces or armbands. Especially golden ones.
- after his trials, he is definitely into rainbow loom bracelets and camp necklace that his children gave him as a replacement for the golden jewellery (the gold wrist jewellery reminds him of the burning chains in TBM and he started to panic)
- likes to put on eyeshadow and eyeliner and claim its his natural look
- almost forgot about flower crowns. He loves getting them from Meg.

The birthday massacre: to die for
Go-a: SHUM
Bad suns: cardiac arrest
Miracle musical: black rainbows
Ween: chocolate town
The glitch mob: animous vox
Pirates for sail: northwest passage
Paul & storm: cruel, cruel moon
Indigo girls: three hits
Okay under a cut for length
To Die For: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
I know TBM mostly through the Kill the Lights lyricstuck from Forever Ago; I like the vocals but I'm iffy on the instruments on this one
SHUM: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
Banger.
Not a favorite of mine per se; but it's been in my likes for a while! And strangely relevant
Cardiac Arrest: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
Black Rainbows: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
Genuinely would've been more enjoyable if not for the English lyrics, but the Hawai'an ones and the beat were good
Chocolate Town: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
It just can't compare to Ocean Man, sorry
Not bad; dunno if I would go for 7 minutes of it if we're being honest though
Animus Vox: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
Northwest Passage: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
I like the song, but I'm not sure if I like this specific cover? I usually tend towards The Longest Johns and Colm McGuiness
Cruel, Cruel Moon: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
Kinda too comedy/parody for me and I really don't do anyone other than Weird Al for that :(
Three Hits: couldn’t listen all the way through | not my thing | it’s okay | kinda catchy | ok i really like this | downloading immediately | already in my library
Probably my second favorite from this list behind SHUM, it's got that Good Cadence

What was the concert like? Any photos?
It was held in Philadelphia at the Underground Arts hall. I parked outside in a community lot. The concert itself was in a small room with no seats; everyone stood up and the music was played extremely loud.
Three bands played that night (The Birthday Massacre, Kite, and Dead Posey). You could line up to buy merch or alcohol in some corners, and I did that during each intermission.
Here are some of the photos I took. A lot of them turned out blurry:

Kind of a neat aesthetic though. The iced tea was good
I wish TBM stayed after they finished playing- I would have loved to meet with Chibi, Rainbow, and the other members! Unfortunately that didn't happen, but perhaps some other time.
