WHERE did you learn so many languages?? do you have any tips?

well I’m brazilian so portuguese is my first language and french and spanish are also latin based languages so they came pretty easily for me. english was a lengthier process but long story short 99% of the media I liked to consume since I was a little kid (pjo for one) was originally in english so since I was constantly listening to it and reading it even when I didn’t understand I eventually learned by osmosis if you will lmao I don’t actually know like. proper english I just wing it I have never once sat through an entire english lesson yet I graduated with a perfect grade in english in hs because apparently I know things even when I don’t LMAO russian is weird because my brother used to play online games with a group of russian boys he met on a gta forum and they, being russian, spoke very little english while my brother, being brazilian, also spoke very little english and all I know is after six months they spoke a little portuguese and my brother spoke a little russian so, again, I kinda learned by osmosis. I thought it was very little but then last year I watched a russian show on netflix and realized I was fine without subs which is 👀 cool. similarly my parents have one close family friend who is a german immigrant so I grew up listening to them so I kinda understand but like. v precariously lol japanese is really the only language I decided I wanted to sit down and actually properly learn because I wanna move to Japan eventually so I was like I gotta be proper about this!!! but it’s been the hardest out of all of them?? I understand it well enough but my issue is with learning an entire new alphabet, my brain is like no ❤️ and I’m also currently studying to get into college so I haven’t had much time to dedicate to japanese exclusively bonk :(

as u can tell I have no method whatsoever other than immersing myself in the language and winging it. I did it with english and it worked so I was like K this is it I guess LOL I have adhd so it’s really hard for me to sit through entire lessons of any subject tbh but especially the boring parts like the building blocks of language always sound too simple to my ears (even when I don’t know them!!!) so instead of learning these via lessons I kinda get a feel of the language first and then go back to learn grammar n shit. I am very privileged though in the sense that my mother speaks all the languages I know except japanese so I’ve always had someone to mimic and practice with and also that language related things in general just simply make a lot of sense in my head. it’s always been a very intuitive process to me which is why it’s hard to describe. my one tip is to just immerse yourself in the language as much as possible: read your favorite books in the target language, read news in it, watch subtitled films/look up song translations and read the translation as they’re playing etc. Not only do I find that much less boring but also it seems to work quicker and it’s an excuse for you to just watch a tv show or listen to some music for a while and chill and still be doing something

I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful 😭 it’s a mess my brain is a jumble of all these languages it’s v weird to try to explain

Rewatching RWBY: Volume 1, Episodes 6-10 [Live Blog]

The second half of Volume 1, and yes if you combine the parts. Volume 1 is actually only 10 episodes long.

I know it’s first volume and the budget isn’t as big as it is now, but Ruby’s arms in her uniform are unusually long.

Blake is actually somewhat OOC during the ‘Banzai’ then again, Blake is one of Miles’s hardest characters to write and it’s Volume 1 so…

Ruby and Pyrrha are on the same wavelength regarding their concern for Jaune

✭ or when you’re playing his fav game overwatch together, and you end up getting the play of the game

✭ he just looks at you on the screen, giggling like the cutie he is

✭ all you hear is “look at you!!”

✭ and when you two weren’t together, he’d call you on his free time during rehearsals just to check up on you, and tell you how much he loves you

✭ you both tried to call each other whenever you were able to

✭ but it wasn’t to an excessive amount

✭ it was just right

✭ same with you weren’t exactly blowing up each other’s phones every second of the day, but there were some days where there were exceptions

✭ sometimes the boys would catch mark on his phone, smiling with his feet propped up on the couch for hours

✭ and what was he doing??

✭ texting his cUTE ASS GF

✭ not to mention he literally smiles like a goofball whenever you send him selfies

✭ it was hard for you to get him to send you selfies back, but when you did OOOOOO BICTH-

✭ but all in all

✭ you two always gave each other the space you needed, despite it being a long distance relationship

✭ the trust and love between you two is beyond unbreakable :’)

✭ that’s why you were able to remain calm and patient in your ldr

✭ that’s why you didn’t feel the needs to always spam each other’s phone every hour of the day

✭ because you both knew that the other was thinking about them

✭ and you knew that there wouldn’t be a day that goes by where you two don’t have your routine call every night

✭ the call you tried to do every night, which switched off from being korea’s nighttime to the state’s nighttime

✭ where you would go on about how your days went, and maybe even watch movies together, play games together, anything your little heart’s desires

✭ it always ended with one of you falling asleep on the other, with either of you smiling about how much you loved the other

✭ whispered “i love you’s” before you’d fall asleep too afterwards

✭ you both are so strong and confident in each other and your relationship

✭ you met in the summer of 2017, and you both are still going strong in this february of 2018

✭ you truly loved each other with everything you’ve got, and there wasn’t a doubt about it to you both

✭ there wasn’t a doubt about it to got7’s fans

✭ to your fans

✭ to anybody that knew you two

✭ yes, there were times where your ldr would get difficult

okay i don’t have names but i’ve got some basic personalities and positions laid out. i’ll upload some sketches soon

important things:

black uniforms with red stripes down the side, numbers in white lines with red

black spandex for home, red spandex for away

their coach is someone who used to play professionally but they retired after a knee injury or something

NUMBER ONE

libero

5 foot nothing

tiny tiny tiny. #3 and #4 pick her up and carry her around a lot. she loves piggy back rides.

she is by far the loudest in the entire room at any given time

also v fast

she gets angry real quick and is also quick to blame herself when things go bad (even though she’s usually playing great)

she gives five stars to everyone as encouragement and that’s why everyone’s thighs are as red as their uniforms

thick as thieves with #3 and #9

always down to do something absolutely NUTS and is the most likely culprit for anything that goes wrong

boy crazy in a Tanaka kind of way but also hella sarcastic

third year

NUMBER TWO

outside (wing spiker, whatever, i learned it as the outside hitter)

she’s 5′2″ but has a 30″ vertical (that’s 100% based off of someone i used to play with it was crazy. she jumped so high.)

hits the hardest as well, but not very good at blocking because she always angles her hand wrong

quiet for the most part but is real sweet and is NOT afraid to tell you like it is

really cute too

jump serve that isn’t very hard but it’s pretty accurate

second year

NUMBER THREE

defensive specialist (DS) and also pinch server and also pinch hitter and also pinch back row

she goes in whenever someone messes up or when they need to change tempo

the best defensive player on the team

if you could have another vice captain it’d be her because she’s like a mama bear and is so sweet n supportive but also v funny. jokester and she gets along with everyone

absolutely INSANE at game strategy. holy shit. can read players like no other and practically coaches the team during games.

she’s got a mean jump float serve that is 96% accurate and makes it over the net 99% of the time. too good.

can’t jump high though. only 5′5″

she’s also the manager for the boys team in the off season. something’s going on with her and kuroo but idk what

middle hitter

5′10″ with a 18″ vertical

an absolute MACHINE on the court holy man. she’s super consistent with hits and avoids blocks like crazy and hits hard and blocks just about everything that comes her way.

she’s the ace. super funny and humble about it but not afraid to put other teams in their place

ranked number 5 in the nation probably

most common phrase is “they said whaaaaaaat??” because they can’t believe how dumb some ppl are.

super nice and funny and loves her team so much. good friends with #1 3 and 9 as well. gets along with everyone. went to the same middle school as #7 and 8

5′9″ and is pretty good at blocking basic hits. if you got no strategy you are straight up shut down.

really strong hits (she’s GREAT at line shots and tools) but is really inconsistent

benchwarmer tbh but sometimes goes in for #5′s back row

tries to help #3 with managing the boys team but she just flirts with everyone the whole time

they find out towards the end of her first season that she’s actually a ridiculously good setter??? she doesn’t know how she does it

she goes by CJ but the team calls her JC because her sets are so godly she must be jesus christ

she’s had a massive crush on a girl in their year for like eight years and #1 and #3 are the worst wingmen ever but they try

helps with managing the boys team as well but mostly from a statistical standpoint because she’s crazy good at math

third year

so that’s p much all i have so far. #1, 3, 4, 8, and 9 would be the main characters, and it’d probably be about teaching #8 how to care about the sport she’s playing or something.

OTHER FUN FACTS

#1 and #2 are usually the ones who participate in sports festival day for their schools and #3 and 4 show up in full face paint with flags and a banner that #9 made

#3 is literally a mama bear. idk what she’s gonna do once her besties graduate. she also might have a crush on #8 idk. but she deffo has something going on with kuroo.

they scrimmage with the boys team for fun all the time. the girls team usually shows up and plays in their summer tournament things because they’re crazy good

#3 and kenma have strategy sessions that usually ends up in them both playing pokemon on their phones

#6 is taller than half the boys team and she doesn’t let them forget it

the boys always go nuts over #5 cuz she’s hella hot but #2 dropkicks them

#3 will be the captain next year and #2 will probably be the ace

#9 has like six colleges after her but she just wants to play volleyball
