i have many so it’s so hard to choose but one of my all time favs might be @/starlightkun’s ayakashi series for jeno called featherbrain and @lovingyong’s tatbilb series for jaemin. i stayed up until 7am reading featherbrain and i didn’t stop rereading it for a wk bc it was everything i’ve ever liked in one story since i was super into otome games at one point and if i’m being honest, kelsie’s series helped move past a lot of hardships bahahah i could probably quote a few lines honestly bc they mean so much to me

✧Hobbies | i flip between being a snorlax and like a buneary or something, i either sleep for a million hours and just binge tv and fic on my couch or im manic writing one of my wips or my novel while re-organizing my craft shit and playing tug of war with my dogs. im also WILDLY into video games, ive been bingeing dragon age lately and mass effect remains one of my all-time favorite series, up there with harvest moon and animal crossing, but breath of the wild is pretty close, and i legitimately ADORE wolf among us and other non-linear games (someone come talk to me about jade empire bc its CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED)

✧Inspiration or muse | a lot of it comes from the media i consume, like movies and books, but mostly its music. sometimes other fics inspire me to write my own stuff, like how my novel is inspired by peter pan, and monsters and gods is inspired by every single greek thing i read, but sometimes it just strikes, like with chasing butterflies.

✧Dream job | tbh ive wanted to be an author since i was like six and wrote my first story (it was about a princess and her cat lmao) and id really love to be on like...rick riordans level someday, but more and more i keep thinking my novel would work better as a tv show lmao kill me so now im just focused on finishing this bitch so i can edit it and potentially get it published. mostly i just wanna write stories for the next generation so that they know people like them exist and that they aren't alone in the world and in what they feel, because i didnt really have a lot of that when i was growing up and i wish i had bc it would have made things a lot easier

Lu new rules is always worth the wait. I love it when the OC stood up to him. And Jungkook being whatever he’s trying to do is leaving us in suspense. But last the scene is perfect. I can picture that scene as if I was watching a drama. Especially when she say “it’ll be easy getting over you” and turn around VERY slowly. Gosh I just want to cry cause it’s beautifully written. JK probably scare that he’s not good enough for her?JEON JUNGKOOK you get on my nerves but I still love him.

HC: Dying Your Hair (Ft. Cor)

Sidenote: I dye my hair dark blue and these were born out of me waiting for my damn dye to sit for two hours. Enjoy.

Noctis

He paid no mind the one time you mentioned you wanted to dye your hair, just shrugged it off and never gave it a second thought

When you came home with a small container of hair dye, he was a little concerned but once again shrugged it off

Now, when he saw you standing in the bathroom with a towel around your shoulders, vinyl gloves on, hair prelightened, and dipping a paint brush into the same container of hair dye from earlier, he found it a little difficult to simply shrug it off as he had done before

Instead, he blankly stared at you while you started to cover your hair with the funny smelling goop

After a minute of staring in confusion, he walked off (yes, he did so tall), spending no more than five minutes wondering about it

In the end, he was slightly surprised, but he thought it was damn cool

He also loved the fuck out of it, even tho he never said anything beyond “Yeah, it’s cool, I like it”

Behind your back, he would rub it in the other bro’s faces and talk about how awesome it was

It would make part of him want to dye his own hair for a solid 27 seconds before he dismissed the idea as too much effort

He pays for the rest of your hair dye btw and never says a word of it

Whenever there’s a big official, formal thing he has to go to, he’ll take you as his date and match his tie to your hair (he never says a word about it either)

And whenever you dye your hair a new color, it starts a new hair color trend in Insomnia

In case you were dyeing your hair before you guys were together/knew each other: he thought it was cool but didn’t care too much tbh, he just goes with the flow (although he sometimes thinks about it for a solid like five mins)

Prompto

The second you said you wanted to dye your hair, Prompto was bouncing in his seat and throwing colors at you faster than you could say “Ardyn’s a Fuckwad”

He would talk about it to the other bros nonstop, “omg guys, Y/N is dyeing their hair omg did i tell you that”

When you finally got around to doing it, he would insist on helping only to get hair dye everywhere (including on himself)

When he got hair dye in his own bangs by accident, you had to dismiss him with a kiss on his cheek and remind him that you love him but he has to wait outside

The dye stained his hair btw. You guys have matching hair now. Well, your hair and part of his at least

Sometimes, during training with Cor or Gladio, he’ll just gush about how cool you are and how much the color suits you

Cor kept trying to remind him to keep his head straight and finally had to dismiss sparring early cause Prompto nearly took his own head off

Gladio usually just yells at Prompto instead though and threatens to cut the accidentally-dyed part of Prompto’s hair off if he doesn’t focus (it works like a charm)

In summary, Prompto thinks it’s the coolest thing in the world and he loves you even more for it, also he’s probably more excited than you are

Sometimes he runs up to you with an eager, “Babe! Babe! BAbe!!!” only to show you cool hair colors and styles that he found (that he also wants you to do on your own hair, bless)

In the event that you were already dyeing your hair before you guys were a thing: he thinks it makes you the coolest person in the world and he excitedly asks you like 50 questions about dyeing hair (it is so fucking cute, god bless)

Oh, he loves watching you put dye in your hair btw

When he finds out that the bleaching process is a lil bit painful, he actually started begging for you to stop doing it (it was super heartwarming but a tad bit annoying)

Gladio

He didn’t think you’d actually dye your hair, but he didn’t care too much in the first place

But when you actually do it…

He thinks it’s the hottest thing ever

Like, he loved you to begin with of course, and he thought you were wonderfully hot and gorgeous but, you dying your hair was like a new pokemon evolution

He didn’t think you could get hotter, then you dyed your hair

He likes to run his hands through the unnatural colored strands of hair

I will tell you one thing: it’s a good thing the chemical smell wears off tho, ‘cause he fucking hates it

He once said it smelled like it could give you cancer

Much like Noctis, he loves it more than he realized he would and silently prays that you’ll keep dyeing it

When he told Iris, she actually started to help you dye your hair (it was so much easier when she started helping too, bless)

Sometimes, you’d find him zoned out and just staring at your hair in the evenings with an odd look on his face

It was pretty cute, so you never said anything

He’d also give you nicknames on the colors that you’d use

My personal favorites are, “Spitfire” for that bright red you used, “Lemon” for the one time you were blonde for a week, and “Ariel” for that mermaid blue he loved so much

And if you dyed your hair regularly before you guys even met: your hair stuck out to him for a solid second before he got used to it and treated you the exact same as anyone else, and yes, he did think it was hot

Also, sometimes he goes with you when you go to get your roots redone, and when he realizes that the bleach actually stings (and makes your eyes burn a lil bit), he’s lowkey horrified but impressed

Ignis

You mentioned it in passing, which made him a tad bit concerned

When you actually went out to purchase the dye and started looking for someone to lighten your hair first, he realized you were gonna go through with it

He respected your desire to dye your hair, but he didn’t agree with it (he thought it was too unprofessional)

Still tho, he loved and respected you, and as a result, he didn’t want you to do something you’d regret or damage your hair in any way

So, of course, he looked into it

He did research on brands, salons, coloring styles, which colors last longer, etc

Basically, you didn’t have to lift a finger

Hell, when you decided to put the legit dye in at home, he pulled on a pair of gloves and an apron, sat you down in a chair, and applied the dye himself (he did a fantastic job btw)

He made himself your personal hair colorer, and hot damn he was good (plus whenever he rinsed the dye out, he gave you a mini scalp massage so that alone made it the best thing ever)

Just like the others, he realized he really fuckin liked your new hair color. Then again, it’s Iggy, so he’d probs like your new hair if you shaved it all off, just ‘cause he loved every you look you get

He made sure to give you deep conditioning treatments and such so the bleach didn’t ruin your hair completely, and whenever your hair dye started fading, he would jump right on redyeing it

The man took better care of your hair than his own, hell, he even loved to just brush it and run his fingers through the newly dyed locks (his newfound obsession with your hair was surprising to everyone, including himself)

And if you were dyeing your hair before you guys met: when he first met you, he thought it was odd and he had some questions, so as you guys got to know each other he would politely ask questions about your hair (not before doing a lot of research tho)

Bonus! Cor

He brushed off your comment when you talked about dyeing your hair cause… to put it bluntly, Cor doesn’t care much. He’s a firm believer of “your life, your decisions”

Still, he is curious

He wondered what made you want to dye your hair, and he wondered what color

Still, his life doesn’t have surprises too often, so he doesn’t ask about the color (your relationship with him was probably the first surprise he’d had in years)

So imagine his surprise when he comes home after a long day only to see you with bright, light blue hair

You claimed it was to match his eyes (it was btw. Partly cause you couldn’t decide on a color, but he doesn’t need to know that)

It made him blush a lil bit (he loves it btw)

He didn’t think someone changing their hair color would be a big deal, but to him it kinda was, just ‘cause he’s Cor, and for the most part, his life is pretty static at his age

But honestly, the only way you could tell he even noticed was the very slight widening of his eyes and the dumb, cute smile he wore when he walked past you

The day after, he totally tells Clarus alllll about it

The next day, the recruits he’s training are lucky, ‘cause you bet your ass he’s gonna be thinking about you and your new hair the entire time, so he’s just a bit lax on them

I will tell you tho, he’s slightly annoyed at the blue strands of hair that start popping up

Like before, he could ignore your strands of hair that appear around the apartment, but now, they’re bright blue and impossible to ignore

He still loves you tho, and your new hair

At night when you guys are going to sleep, he likes to stare at your bright blue hair in the dark and just think about how much he loves you

Whenever he has some free time in his office, he likes to think about what you would look like with different hair dyes (he doesn’t get very much free time tho)

Even when you switch your hair dye colors, you always keep one section of your hair that same, bright, light blue, just so you can match his eyes (the first time you did that, he almost cried)

It makes him smile every time he looks at it and he can’t help but give you a soft, loving kiss as he reminds himself of how lucky he is to have a SO who’s that precious and loving

I’m going to do this in a post instead of a video because I don’t like my voice.

1. Describe how you met each other.

Well, writing is a thing we both love to do. We both had blogs where we did the writing thing, and we both knew the incomparable @rawwrchie and had written with her. One day, with a newer blog, I followed Care’s blog, we started talking via tags and then via skype on and off. Rach suggested a threeway skype call and we all got closer and had a blast and bing bang boom, here we are.

2. What did you first notice about each other?

I think I first noticed how kind she is. She’s always talking to new people and being so nice to them and asking them about themselves and genuinely caring about the answers. The people around her know how lovely she is and while she has gotten hurt for her kindness, it hasn’t stopped her.

3. Who first asked the other out?

Well.........we kinda started dating before we started dating. Before we admitted our romantic feelings for one another, we were “platonic girlfriends” and I honestly don’t remember who was like “hey this isn’t platonic.”

4. Where was your first date?

On skype? But our first in-person date was at Circa 22 in Wilmington. We went back there this year too to celebrate our engagement.

5. Who was first to verbally say “I love you”?

Pffff probably Care.

6. How did your first kiss happen? Who initiated it?

Iirc, it was Care? Oh man my memory stinks. I think she asked for a kiss while we were in Wilmington.

7. When is your anniversary?

August 5, 2013.

8. How long have you been together?

Four years and almost two months.

9. What made you realize you were in love with her?

It was never one moment. It was a lot of little moments where she was just unabashedly herself. When she talks about fall, when she embraces the silly things that she loves, when she gets excited about a book she’s reading, when she’s trying to scold our cat and stinks at it. It’s just a collection of things that make a voice go in the back of my head, “Gosh I love her.”

10. Where you friends before you became lovers?

Yup. We were friends while we were really dating, frankly. We chose the date for our anniversary after the fact, because we didn’t have a set date where we started dating. And our friendship is the biggest part of our relationship. We’re best friends first and foremost, fiancees second.

11. Were either of you out before getting with your girlfriend?

I was out, but given that she lived in NC, not so much. Her husband knew (we’re polyam, worry not, he knew), but he didn’t.... know know, you know? Like, he knew in a hypothetical sense. I’d been out since middle school, though.

12. Have either of you dated a girl before getting with your girlfriend or is she your first?

I’d dated several women before, but I was kinda her first (and then....turned out not to be a woman lol)

13. When is your girlfriend’s birthday? Who is older?

September 22nd. Tomorrow! And she’s older by a little under five years.

14. Do you live together?

Give it a few weeks and we will be.

15. Have you met your girlfriend’s parents? If so, what was that like?

I have, twice. She hasn’t met mine yet. I love her mom. She made me cry, but in a good way. Her dad’s nice when he’s on his best behavior.

Immediate family, three and a half? Mom, Dad, Pants, Pants’ fiancee.

17. Whose family do you hang out with more?

Well, she hasn’t met mine, so technically hers, but we’ll be across the country from hers in a few weeks, so then it’ll be mine. But we’re gonna call hers all the time!

18. What is a typical date night like for you and your girlfriend?

Netflix and chill. Except chill actually means snuggling and someone falling asleep. #asexualthings

19. How do you usually spend your time together?

Snuggling, watching things together, reading.

20. Have you ever been mistaken for sisters?

Given how far I tower over her and how strikingly different our hair and facial features are? I very highly doubt that (though probably when walking hand-in-hand in Wilmington someone thought it just to avoid the queer thing)

21. Have you ever shared your clothes?

Actually yes! I stole her shorts and she’s worn my shirt.

22. Have you ever experienced any discrimination or prejudice becasue you are a same sex couple?

Not yet, luckily. We surround ourselves with caring friends, and our families are totally cool with it. My mom would certainly rather I hadn’t been guided down a difficult path, but that’s more her anger at society than any real concern towards me. I think most parents want the path of least resistance for their child for many reasons, but she knows how incredibly happy Care (and Sport and Emil) make(s) me, so she’d never choose anything else for me.

23. Does anyone you know disapprove of your relationship?

A friend’s parents would, but no one that actually knows about it.

24. How much PDA do you do?

A decent amount. We love to hold hands and when sitting together will often snuggle up together, but we don’t kiss a whole lot in public or anything.

25. Have you ever been on your periods together?

Sometimes! But that’s rare since both of us can be finnicky.

She calls me her bee and I use all numbers of pet names: honey, dear, babe, etc. I’ve gotten much better at using pet names during our relationship~

Probably me. I love to cook and while she’ll do it, if given the opportunity she’ll usually just eat sandwiches.

She can be hella vindictive. She seems super sweet and kind and lovely - and she IS - but sometimes, she just gets crossed too far and gets really angry.

Kind. She goes out of her way to be really sweet to just about everyone - even if she doesn’t really like a person. And she always thinks of others.

1. Femme or butch?

for type, im vry easily wooed by butches tbh

as for myself, im genderfluid + heavily lean towards butch-ish for one gender + have been gettin more comf w that term for myself. the 3 genders i switch between, ive described as sharp, dainty and tired, for reason of not really being comf w gender labels aside from nonbinary. sharp/tired r kinda butchish, moreso sharp. like leather jackets, ripped jeans, dress pants/shirts, defs flannels (which r a given for any mood im in tbh) while tired is like mb softer, more focused on flannels + loose tank tops/shirts, shorts + certain skirts, comfy clothes, and the like

ive found that i’m leaning more towards butch lately too, like i’ve been a lot more comfortable with pants and a nice top than i have w dresses or most skirts + im wondering if i was just hanging on to femininity for sake of society, so those r things 2 think abt. i still feel comf in them sometimes, but it’s getting much less often. gender’s weird, i still cant cling to one bc of how pressuring that is so genderfluidity is still smth for me + it shifting to different percentages is okay (im thinking out loud @ this point, but its helping so i hope its interesting to read)

5. Describe your aesthetic

aaahh theres a lot of diff aesthetics i could go into, but i have a tag if ur interested in a visual representation? basically, cosy homes, forests, wooden steps and bridges, cats, girls/nbs, water, plants, and old video game stuff, and clouds/skies. i’m sure there’s more in there, but for a good rule of thumb !! as for like dressing aesthetic, i like to look rly gay + attractive and a lil showy? like my shorts r Short and i love crop tops + a lot of my shirts show my bra thru them, + i like showing it when i can, like sports bra + a tank top is a fav look of mine bc i can make it look like my bra is a trim on the shirt + it’s cute. i’ve been wearing dresses less often, but occasionally, i like to rock one. id love a pair of combat boots but i have like size 11/12 feet + most stores dont carry that size + im hesitant to buy some online.

7. Favorite pair of shoes?

its rly hard to find any, i have like walmart converse knockoffs atm + theyre a beige/grey color im not that huge on, it kinda reminds me of sandalwood but depressed

9. Any haircut goals for the future?

there was the undercut!! and i have that down now c: next step is to dye it blue and mb some purple. i wanna bleach it if i’m gonna dye it, but im hesitant to do that bc of how damaging it is, but since my hair’s been cut a cpl time almost all the color is out now, so i think itll b ok if i take good care of it.

11. Describe the worst date you’ve been on

i went to a cafe w someone (i think they were nb but i cant remember, it was like 2 yrs ago about ) and they were impossible to talk to bc they just kept saying “im awkward sorry” @ everything and like any conversations i tried to maintain were all one-shot responses, and like that was a lil frustrating. like i dont hold it against them or anything, more in a sense of i was rly tryin 2 carry it and just couldnt

hmmmm i havent thought much about it !! i know when i was younger i wanted to wear a black wedding dress but now im thinkin mb a suit that switches to dress @ the bottom?? that could b cool. I’d be happy w anything tbh, if im getting married, i’d just b happy to be w my wife/spouse. mb somewhere in a forest or on a boat would b cool, defs lots of good food and colorful flowers. I’d like a lot of color, most weddings ive been to are just b/w and bland for my taste (they’ve also all been straight tho so theres that.) it’s kind of wild to think that i might b married someday, but it’d b rly nice. i just haven’t thought much abt the planning of one. it’d b rly gay tho, probs give out tiny gay flags at each seat, and the cake could b lesbian flag colors. im rly drawing a blank on this, but i know id want all my friends around the country + world to be there.

17. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

i definitely want to live in a port town at some point !! idk where i’d like to settle down, ideally somewhere that doesnt get much hotter than 90 degrees + has lots of parks + is big enough for some events, like pride stuff, little festivals, a farmer’s market, and places to do things, such as a movie theater, bowling alley, mb an aquarium, if not one in a nearby town. hiking trails r also good.

on a sunbeam!!! its a huge inspiration for me, and i love it so much. it always puts me in such a good mindset when i read it, and the artist is my age, so it makes me feel like I can also accomplish great things if i rly put my heart into it!! which is such a good feeling, and it has great representation + characters that i love, and its rly gay, and in space and theres ships shaped like fish + its gorgeous : D i could go on for hrs abt it + how important it is to me. theres an nb character too, and like the aspect of found families is one that rly hits home and it helped me get thru a rough time of my life + better accept myself as queer/gay.

talking abt being gay w other girls/nbs is lovely and cathartic, i never got to growing up bc i lived in a homophobic town + i was like dealing heavily with internalized homophobia and body/gender dysphoria so i was ace for a bit. talking more abt like sexual attraction + aesthetic attraction is new to me, and that’s been a process to get to, but it’s nice that I can now do so w/o being belittled or barraged by insult. i also just love the thought of being w someone, and daydreaming abt when that happens is really nice. also,, girls + nbs r a blessing and brighten my day and im so glad im attracted 2 them

27. Turn ons?

absolutely communication, that’s a need. i had a bad experience w someone bc she wasn’t communicative at all, and failed to tell me that we weren’t dating despite us going on several dates + kissing??? like i wont go too into it, but hatchi matchi it was a mess. so yeah, communication, affection, and like reassurance that they actually want to be with me, and that my presence is wanted and enjoyed. I got a lot of “i dont care”s for answers last sort-of relationship, and that was rly discouraging. another turn on is for them to initiate talking and things, like holding hands or planning to hang out + such. consent is another big one.

29. Do you usually ask other women out or do you wait for them to ask you?

i usually tend to ask them out, but im still dealing w internalized junk, so its difficult. i also havent any situations in which they liked me back, which is frustrating. like i got lead on earlier summer for abt a month until i asked what we were doing + didnt rly get an answer, and it was this whole mess. i generally try to make the first move tho, bc i know firsthand how difficult it is, but that being said, it’s still hard for me to know for sure if theyre interested + i dont wanna make things uncomf w them, so i’ll wait until i think there might b attraction. that being said, once that’s all out of the way, i like to consider myself a good flirt when im trying.

i have lots of interests!! im obsessed w steven universe, its my fav show (and if u ever have time, we should totally watch it together sometime, i rly think you’d love it, it’s super gay + heartwarming.) i really love playing music and learning new songs, which im rly great at memorizing. talking to friends + gettin 2 know them better is always nice and fun. i like to draw new things + see the different ways ppl draw, so seeing art on here is always fun for me. i’m also rly into polygon videos (it’s a youtube channel, not like videos abt polygon haha) and this podcast called the adventure zone. season one just ended, so i might start listening to another one called friends at the table. i rly wanna start a podcast w someone, but can never find anyone to start it with. idk what I’d talk abt but if i could find a partner for it, i think it’d be a lot of fun. mb smth abt games or books/queer representation in media. doing a dnd podcast would also b rly fun, but a lot of work + editing so mb later down the road !! im blanking on other interests atm, but animations and cartoons r lovely and i aim to make something in that field one day, if not just a comic.

my hobbies r mostlyyyy drawing, dnd things now every thursday, hanging w my friends, playing video games, sometimes writing (i rly wanna start a comic, and im tryin to get my butt into gear on it), goin to parks, listening to music, and goin 2 events w roe + cesar, two of my friends. sometimes ill play music!! i need to get more than the keyboard i’m lending, but i love performing. ill also watch leg birds on youtube, theyre a lesbian couple that plays gams + theyre rly sweet.

its easy for me to love friends, doesnt usu take me more than a few months of knowing them if were talking a lot. as for falling in love, that takes me a lot longer. ive never rly been in love w someone. i thought i was once, but rly it was just my first gay experience w someone and i wanted it to be perfect so i projected a lot of things + made it better than it seemed to myself for the duration of it, which wasn’t healthy, so i wanna avoid doing that again, + take things slower next time. or at least for what they are.

a few times, they were just crushes tho, so it wasnt too too bad

i used to be a vegetarian!! for like a yr, but it was difficult for me to eat and feel full, and i was pretty underweight, so i stopped.

i think like 16-17? it took me a bit to get words for identity, like lesbian/nonbinary and the like, but i always knew, like id call myself an individual as opposed to gendered terms that i was referred to, and always felt rly yucky w deadname + the wrong pronouns

ive got one crush atm !! and another person who seems nice, but i wanna hang out w before like thinking abt a crush (im poly, which perhaps goes w/o saying, but i always like to state it when talking abt these things, jic )

i’d like a partner or two, to get some bongos- i got to play some a couple weeks ago, and it was the most fun i’ve had playing anything!! having smth with an instant response that i could make up rhythms with was really rewarding and so much fun. i know i want a cat at some point, to go on cute dates + cuddle and kiss a lot w someone, to visit my friends in other places, dye my hair, get a better job, to travel a bit, make a comic, go to college for animation and storyboarding, mb go to camp at some point, and I’d like to make some more friends here, i’m already making some, which i’m super happy about, but it’s always nice meeting new ppl

How do you come to terms with the fact that a lot of poor people hold racist views (due to lack of education, living in rural communities that act as echo chambers of the same opinions, etc) while maintaining class solidarity? I don't mean to make it sound like all poor people are racist (I'm pretty poor myself tbh) but I know that statistically speaking, many of them are. When I hear working class, I can't help but think trump voter sometimes...

This is an excellent question!! This is a question that deserves a lot of discussion (so yeah, this is an essay, sorry!), and one that some people on the left may answer differently than I am going to, so I encourage you to get several points of view. My experience is very US based. The US is the only industrialized country without a labor party, and with the red scare we have a very unique history when it comes to workers movements.First of all, lets go over what class solidarity means (and what it does not). Class solidarity I really do think can be summed up in the phrase “An injury to one is an injury to all”. Like, if there is one worker that is being exploited, then it is bad for everyone. If anyone among the class is being victimized, we all need to step in to defend them. This means that white workers need to come out and defend black men from violence by the police. It means that all male workers should strike in solidarity with their female coworkers when they learn there is a wage gap. And yes, it does also mean that immigrant workers should not cross picket lines….But class solidarity does NOT mean that immigrants are to blame for US citizens losing jobs, even if they do cross picket lines. Marxism comes with the understanding of the material circumstances that have lead to immigrant workers being in such a dire economic position- and that it is the capitalists who take advantage of that who are the ones to blame. Solidarity does NOT mean pushing aside the struggles that our black, women, gay, immigrant workers face in order to prioritize the struggles of the ‘less oppressed’.

So, yeah, even in theory class solidarity is something that is going to be very difficult to build. You try to imagine telling a Mexican immigrant mother of three that she should not take that job because ~class solidarity~. Like, no fucking way. In an ideal world, the union organizers would help her find another job, or get her connections that could help her find one. but lets be real.

I know what you mean though, when you say you think of Trump supporters. i was outside a homeless shelter, defending it from being shut down by the city, and the camera man (amateur, not from a news station) taking statements in support of the shelter confided that he was a trump supporter. He believed that when Trump said this one thing he was really supporting homeless people! (who even knows what that thing was trump never makes any damn sense)The lesson of this story is that yes, these people have racist bias because they could excuse every racist thing trump said, but that’s very different from voting for trump FOR his racist ideas first and foremost. Many people who voted for trump did so because of party loyalty, or because nothing about their situation had changed with a democrat in office, or because they saw Clinton as the embodiment of Wall Street (which she is) and everything that was going to lead them to unemployment. This is how having two capitalist parties screws over everyone. Lesser evil-ism eventually leads to more evil.When it comes to specifically with dealing with racist bias among white working class people, from an organizational standpoint it all comes down to how you decide you want to use your resources, time, and energy. Lots of leftist groups focus in urban areas- where racism is less of a problem than it is in rural areas, because of the constant interaction between white, black, latino people in their day-to-day jobs. When a black guy agrees to pick up your shift so you can go to your kid’s birthday party, no doubt you’re probs not gonna be as antagonistic to black people in general. Also, a lot of leftist groups are focusing more and more on the youth, the FUTURE OF SOCIETY! They are much more receptive to socialism, class unity, and well- less racist. Like, yes, there are polls that show youth still have a lot of racial bias, but most of that is kept close to the chest in today’s urban youth and you can’t deny things have changed in the past 50 years. It is largely the youth that spear-heads revolutionary movements- the average age of the Bolshevik party in its early years was 19!!! The rest of the population- whether they would agree or not- WILL follow them, even if they started out with racist beliefs.In any case, like I said, a leftist organization has to choose where it is going to spend efforts to recruit new members. At this stage in the US, these are not going to be people who are way out in rural areas who think mexicans are stealing all the jobs. First, we dont have the resources to go out to the boonies anyway, let alone for someone who thinks we should attack people of color. The workers who have really deep-seated racist beliefs are not ones that we want to spend time and energy on, at least in this phase.Now, there may be exceptions- if someone is otherwise very left-leaning, is an involved union member, and generally agrees with a lot of our other ideas, we may set aside time to have discussions on race, the history of the oppression of black people, discussions on imperialism and immigration, and hopefully we can change their mind on some issues. As an individual who may confront certain other racist workers, I advise trying to facilitate a discussion on one of these topics. Give them room to express where they are coming from, try and find out why they think the way they think. Like, where did they hear that a Mexican might steal their job? Have you seen or heard about an example of this? Try to be patient with them. Maybe give examples of a Mexican you know, tell a bit of their story, and find things that they have in common. You will see a lot of the vehement racism trickle away when they realize someone is actually listening to them and their experiences. This is not an easy or quick process, it will NOT be an easy discussion, and you should only try it if you are willing to put in that time and energy, and if they seem like they can actually be won over with discussion alone. This is why leftist groups often leave it to the wayside, to confront at a later date. If you encounter antagonizers that simply pose racist ‘gotchya’ questions to try and make your ideas seem wrong, it might be helpful to go over some quick elevator talk answers so you can respond quickly and show anyone else listening that you will defend people of color. That is kind of a separate issue though, i think, than what you’re referring to.

Later on, workers with racist attitudes will be brought into the fold- they will come willingly and their minds will change by the example we lead. It is capitalism that fuels the fires of these divisions between the races. When capitalism is threatened, when they are weak, they will not be able to keep pouring out that fuel onto us, those divisions will start to crumble. During a strike, or a demonstration, these workers will share the same ideas, and that experience will do most of the work with regards to chipping away at racist bias.

For example, the national railroad strike in the US in 1877 largely breached race lines, capitalists had to go super heavy after that with racist propaganda to prevent it from growing or happening again. In St. Louis, MO, a place where racial divisions between black and white people were never anything but fucking Intense, the workers really did unite and briefly seize control of the city’s imports and exports. They were betrayed by a Klan member working for the capitalists. When there is a concrete struggle, throughout history it has been shown that workers will come together to fight a class war. Eventually, those with heavy racial bias will come over to our side- they are already learning that the capitalists of either party in the US do not have their best interests in mind.

But only when you have a strong workers’ party and infrastructure can you bring those in. My advice is to focus on expressing solidarity with other oppressed groups, develop some go-to responses for a few popular racist statements, show by your actions, rather than your words, that you stand for all workers. Sorry this was such an incredibly long answer, I hope this helps! please feel like you can ask follow up questions too, you or anyone else.

Name: He was never given a name, buut if he were to escape out into the real world... he'd want to go by.... Vinny | Gender: Male | Species/Race: Glitch/Virus Demon (he's p much three things in one bc I decided to spice it up a lil bit) | Age: He doesn't really have an age either tbh | Height: 7'9" | Eye Color: See his eyes are a complex thing... his eyes can change variously, some seem more... complex than others- 1: He has all that coding n green in his eyes, you know like the 0s and 1s along with the green abyss in the background slowly scrolling downwards for infinity. 2: He can have a blue screen in his eyes which in HIS case isn't good. 3: and then just pure black which is the w o r s t thing possible. (as for just actual colors, it can be kinda like a stoplight in a way- except, just a regular green in this case which means things are chill essentially- its fine, yellow means he's cautious and tense, annnd red means he's angry- boutta get aggressive) | Hair Color: Shadow Black (his hair is in the style of an Extreme Spiky Quiff) | Appearance: He has one prominent suit- its got those tv color bars going down it EXCEPT they aren't as bright as actual color bars- he doesn't like overly bright colors- it messes with him, the suit also has glitches surrounding it- most people think its just part of the suit but its actually not- its a part of HIM- his pants are black and he usually wears combat boots- he has another suit he wears that just looks like pure static that has the words PLEASE STAND BY written on it which he'll pair with a matching pair of pants- the combat boots s t a y though. Aside from suits, he'll wear hoodies, leather jackets, etc- it just depends on his mood at the current moment- now he's got some more monstrous details/inhuman features... For starters, the monstrous features include him having bear trap teeth, his horns are in the shape of a bison's and they also look like color bars, he has a devil style tail that just looks like pure static, and of course he has black claws- he does have glitches that can surround him, usually the glitches and him becoming more static-y sounding are due to him getting angrier and angrier- however he does have to use a good amount of energy to keep all his glitches n stuff hidden. (oh and you know he has the circle beard n such and a few scars here and there, it seems to be mostly from fights and some look pretty severe) | Personality: I won't say he's evil and cruel, only when he's crossed will he show no mercy- if he's betrayed, a b a n d o n e d, etc- THEN shit's gonna hit the fan BUUUT we don't have time to unpack all that just yet! He's definitely a trickster, loves to pull pranks and mess with people immensely, he's been out in the actual world a few times- humans are his all time f a v e s to mess with, their reactions can be a m a z i n g! How terrified they look when they see this weird being come into their reality or when they don't even realize or know he's there, then its so much more fun- its like a ghost situation at that point makin people think their haunted which in a way they technically are! He doesn't know?? a LOT about boundaries or limits and sometimes he crosses those, ya gotta tell him otherwise it'll only get worser from there and he won't even stop to acknowledge that- he's oblivious towards some emotions and feelings (tl;dr: not evil n cruel unless provoked/betrayed, trickster who will prank n scare the living shit out of you, crosses boundaries and limits without realizing and needs to be told about it- and you better explain it properly otherwise he won't really get it, he doesn't understand a lot of emotions and feelings except for anger/fear- its mostly anger he understands a lot, he can be pretty manipulative when he wants to make a deal with a person- he feels he's gotta be in order to escape his computer-y confines) | Side Facts: He lives in this virtual-like world, waiting until someone gets his "virus" on their computer- in order to have his virus sent out, a person has to be looking up info on him and click on one specific lil site, oh they'll get details alright... S o m a n y d e t a i l s, hell why not have those details straight from the source- while his virus doesn't necessarily damage the computer itself, HE can do so if he desires- its usually a last resort option though in order to escape his confines- he's gotta make a deal with said person in order to get out- its essentially like a you do this for me I'll do somethin for you in return in a w a y. He's actually deathly terrified of factory resets and h e h- various other things that can totally obliterate his virus and if he's sticking around himself- oh b o y- there's going to be... well, problems- a factory reset along with the other things- ya see- a factory reset is the equivalent to what an exorcism would feel like for a ghost, its essentially a death sentence for this glitchy virus demon and it'd be the most excruciating thing he could ever feel, he's actually almost been wiped out entirely by one before- so that's another reason to fear those things. Now he did have parents, but uh they... weren't the best- even when he was just beginning to develop they could tell he'd never amount to nothing, wouldn't ever be a strong and good virus demon, so they p much- ahem

TRIGGER WARNINGS: Abuse mentions both physical and mental-wise, degradation, abandonment, etc

His parents abused him, his father always tried to toughen him up and would get angry and MORE violent than he already was when his son didn't want to cooperate or fight back, his mother would always verbally abuse him- constantly berating him with insults, telling him he'd never amount to a good virus demon, that he was entirely worthless, etc AND his siblings weren't any better- they picked on him and beat him up a fair amount all the time- its a wonder he even managed to last as long as he did, growing up definitely was the most difficult thing, he never REALLY learned how to properly process any emotions- he never learned how to express emotions- especially if something is bothering him immensely, he'll just ignore it or bottle it up until it gets too severe to handle anymore, expressing emotions of any kind unless anger or anything was f o r b i d d e n to his parents- happiness? sadness? D i s g u s t i n g! He should be a n g r y, vengeful, hateful, m a l i c i o u s and everything horrible in between- he should be an ultimate being of destruction since he's a virus demon and eventually his parents gave up on him entirely annnnd kicked him out, they a b a n d o n e d him and have had no contact since then, o h but only if they could see him now... he's not evil or cruel just for pure spite towards them but he IS more powerful than he ever coulda been before, s o much more powerful... he has enough power to bring a fucking world to its k n e e s- even if his weaknesses are something such powerful demons shouldn't be affected by but nonetheless, he's powerful enough or at least he thinks so- maybe... maybe his parents would be... proud of him if they saw him now, with as much power as he's gained (spoilers: they won't, he's not malicious or evil or cruel enough n so many other wrong things) ITS NOT A L L bad however tho! he can be a p dumb himbo sometimes- he doesn't understand a LOT of human things, despite being a computer-like virus demon- he actually doesn't even understand much bout the internet, he's never given it much of his attention and the things humans do, its... it can all be strange to him? So aside from pranking n being a trickster- he can be p dumb when it comes to human stuff n internet stuff- boy gotta heccin learn bout boundaries n limits and some of the things humans do so he can be MORE human like- hell he doesn't REALLY even disguise himself, why should he care if humans n stuff sees him?
