This started off as a joke AU, but the ideas are starting to snowball (pun intended)!

Elementale

An AU where every monster in the Underground is an elemental, like Grillby and Fuku.

Sans and Papyrus are literal snowmen - they're still skeletons, just made of snow. Instead of sockets, they have coal for eyes, and their noses and teeth are 'drawn' into their faces like how a child would use their finger to draw in snow.

Sans is nicknamed Frost. He's much the same as Classic, but he wears a fleece hoodie, tartan slippers and a tartan trapper hat. (Tbh, I'm imagining him looking quite similar to this snowman plushie - minus the carrot nose, of course- that I was given by my grandma when I was a small child - please excuse the grubbiness - he's well loved. I especially love how he's got these button eyes that are multi-faceted, so they look like coal)

Papyrus is nicknamed Flurry, and he looks like the Papyrus snowman from the game. That's because he can literally add snow to his body to sculpt himself muscles (Frost can too, he's just too lazy to put in the effort). He wears snowboarding boots and gloves (bright red of course), his scarf is more of a traditional woven scarf, and he wears long pants and a white shirt that shows off his snow muscles the best.

Grillby of course stays the same. He's still a fire elemental.

Toriel and Asgore are air elementals, probably nicknamed something like Cirrus and Thunder. Their bodies are built from fluffy white clouds. Asgore's beard and horns are yellow lightning, and he weilds a lightning trident.

Undyne is of course a water elemental, probably nicknamed something like Torrent. Her hair is actually bright red seaweed, and her body is shifting water.

Alphys is an earth elemental. Think something like Sandshrew/Sandslash from Pokemon, so she'd probably look more like a pangolin or armadillo. Don't have a nickname for her yet.

Mettaton would remain the same. He's already a metal robot.

Thats all I've got for now. This AU is still very much a work in progress (it wasn't supposed to be a WIP in the first place!), so I might update it as and when I get ideas.

And how the next chapter of Wardtale was going (very excited for this chapter btw. Esp. given the sneak peeks we have gotten of it so far)?

(Honestly. Wardtale is just so great and interesting in general. Like; I love Sans being a former military general. Now newspaper delivery person, is that right? Idk, I just love that kind of past live(s) and/or multiple side stuff when it comes to Sans. Plus; I am suck for science stuff, military, spy, tactician, or assassin, etc. stuff for Sans. Think ur series, or the amazing Timetale. With one of the best Sans and Alphys and Sans and Alphys relationships I have ever seen. Or think The Golden Quiche series. Or TLD series, by the same person who did TGQ, and is a really great and unique DustTale take. So I love that for ur Sans. Alphys' and more cold (if I am remembering correctly) role in WT is very interesting too! And it is interesting that Sans hates her. I wonder what Alphys thinks and/or feels about Sans. Ur Frisk take and design is great too! Tbh; u are just so good at designs in general.

Also, I love the sprite game art style kind of thing that Wardtale has! It is so different and unique. And it gives me the vibes of sprite comics, which, I wish say more of, esp. ongoing and/or completed ones in the fandom(s). Though, the ones we have are great. But still different, and very developed. Anyways, I am very excited (though also sad, but also happy the series is going to be getting closure) for the next chapter and the last 2 (I think) chapters in the Wardtale. And I am very interested to hopefully still see ur take on Wardhorror. I love horror and/or horrortale takes. And I already love ur takes on Sans and Aliza for example.)

Or about the next part and/or chapter of The Ebott Books is going if u are working on that instead?

(Loving this so far too. I love ur sprite video series for Wardtale, but ur comics are so well done too! And it helps even more to give each series a really unique feel to it. Loving the kind of fairy tale elements, designs, and curses in this! It is all very interesting. Sans, Paps, Frisk's, and I think Asgore was in this and had a cool design, all look awesome and cool and cute and stuff.

Though, I won't lie, seeing Paps more mainly in blue, and Sans mainly more in a brown-ish color; even though they both look great, kind of threw me off. '^^ Because, I more connect blue to Sans. At least usually. Or like, they both have blue clothes and stuff; like in some Outertale versions. Like, The Ebott Books Paps is not the only blue Paps I have seen. There is also CP from Under/Source. But like, blue just works for me w/ CP (not that it doesn't ur Paps) and doesn't throw me off as much for some reason. Maybe because also, a couple of the main Sanses and characters are mainly purple and blue (so still one blue, and another cool color. Plus; I just like purple on Sans). So maybe that helps in me not getting as thrown off.

That post and art was really cool and interesting. I would have loved to see it in the series proper or maybe some kind of side video or something, because idk, I just find it cool and interesting. And exploring Sans, Paps, Gaster, and skelemom a bit more as a family sounds cool. And I like seeing people different takes on the skelebrothers family. But I get why u decided u can't. If u ever do post more and/or etc.; I will defin. be interested though.

Also, I know it is because you don't want to show the Mom (which, honestly, I wouldn't minded seeing ur take on Skelemom. I like seeing more takes on Sans' and/or Paps' parent(s), and we know more of that in the fandom(s) imo. Like, there is Timetale, Reminiscence, The Golden Quiche (and kinda The Lone Defender), etc. have good takes on the skeleparent(s). As a few examples), but the way u have ur part of the picture missing and/or ripped is quite ominous and mysterious.

If don't know or don't want to answer about how stuff is going with Wardtale or The Ebott Books and/or etc; I would totally understand and get it!

• (this makes me happy) Thank you for liking sans' relationships and him being a former general who gave up his life to be a newspaper delivery boy, I always liked watching documentaries and I did well at school when they were about revolutions and wars. Alphys doesn't hate but doesn't like Sans either, she supports him more because of Papyrus and Gaster (even though Gaster sees Sans as a soldier rather than a son and Papyrus for having fought with Sans but still cares a lot about him) The only common thing they have in common is that they think that humans should be left alone and that they don't transmit the virus to monsters, but they have totally opposite ways of solving this problem.

Sans is also jealous that Papyrus admires Alphys and listens to her more than Sans, after Sans arranged for Papyrus to join Asgore's army and try to place him in an important position.

• Yes, after Wardtale ends I want to do two ideas that popped into my head (which won't be canonical in the story) but after it's over I'm going to do some drawings of Au, either events that happened in the series or from each Monsters past.

• ebott books I left on hiatus because I want to focus on finishing wardtale and war fragment (an old sonic comic of mine with the main couple from infinite x gadget) on Wattpad since both are not long before they are finished.

• The idea was for Papyrus to be white or black, but it didn't work very well (because they are both inspired by wild wolves) so I thought about putting a gray color but it looked quite dead, then finally I decided to put a more bluish gray color since the Au's colors are shades of blue and white to represent ice (yes, I confess that it's not every day that there's a papyrus with blue that reminds me of a sans lol)

• I can even show more of the past two two (there's a part ready about this that I haven't posted yet) and also if I have space I'll put more of Alphys' past or at least mention about their and Alphys' childhood and more about the asriel and sans relationship

• At first I thought about Sans and Papyrus's mother being a parody or something funny like featuring Temmy or another character (maybe an NPC that no one knows the existence or importance of) but since Wardtale took a more serious path I thought about what she could be like or who she could be, so I thought the fans could interpret what her face would look like... BUT I WANTED TO MAKE A POINT OF DESIGNING THE DRESS BECAUSE I LOVE DESIGNING DRESSES.

No problem, I'm happy that you love the series a lot, I'm still doing Wardtale, but due to the accident that caused my cell phone to die and me losing a lot of things, it made me feel discouraged, but thanks to my girlfriend, my sister and some fans encouraging me to continue little by little I came back and I'm redoing some sprites that I had lost

First up: HW trusts

Ysayle’s title is “Oracle of Frost” and yes she is a Tank/DPS all rounder. her Tank spec is GLD just like I thought!!! She even wields the Shiva sword and shield!!! Her move set seems to be GLD stuff though she does Circle of Scorn and Hailstorm. I want to run this as a tank to see how she is as BLM. Alphinaud has his old Academician class but reflecting his inexperience in this part of the story he’s got no Job stone and is just an Arcanist base, he can heal or DPS.

The Aery: thankfully Ysayle and Alphy sat this one out! The problem was solved by giving us a pair of Temple Knight randos to fill out the party. I healed this one as per Gisele’s canon and while the trash and second boss were substantially improved, the new Nidhogg fight is really, really lame without the healing and protecting Estinien phase.

The Vault (ugh) is interesting. Haurche’s title is “Chivalric Knight” 🥰🥰🥰 and funny enough despite it being GLD they actually made him a tank/DPS all rounder, which explains why he was at PLD!miracle whip’s side in the trailer anyway. Alphy joins us again for this one and we also have a Temple Knight rando again as filler. The dungeon itself changed the least of the three; idk if it even changed tbh

I could talk about their AI…i need to tank Sohm Al so I can get Ysayle as BLM, but it would be absolutely criminal if the Vault ended up the only dungeon we got Haurche for because even setting my extreme bias aside he’s the best goddamn Trust tank out of anyone we’ve had as options, even better than Thancred and even Emet. He’s extremely chatty in battle and has suitably cheerful lines and they even threw in an impish double entendre which I was NOT expecting (“I’ll show you something special!” and he literally sounds like he has Three Mouth). Ysayle was magnificent!!! her usual driven self, but increasingly distressed at having to fight dragons as you proceed through, and she had a bit of banter with Estinien (“we’re not here so you can enjoy sport, dragoon” or smt 😂) Alphinaud sounds like the green, untested kid he is and pre-character development Estinien was as expected XD

mostly I’m just super emotional bc for years now I believed being able to fight alongside Ysayle and Haurche in appropriate story dungeons would be something I could only ever have in my fics. i literally teared up seeing them in the flyovers. I’m trying not to be angry again that they’re not Scions, the way they are for Gisele. Just trying to enjoy the moment. But…yeah. I just really really love these characters so desperately and getting ANY more time with them outside of my own head and fic means so much to me

Sans: I Wasn't Built For This™

Why did he let Nick convince him this would be fun? Go camping they said. It'll be fun they said.

He refuses to sleep in a tent. He just puts the seats down in his car, all the pillows and blankets he needs, and sleeps there. He's above sleeping on the ground tbh.

“Hiking? That... That sounds exhausting. How long is the trail? FIVE MILES!? Nah. No thanks. you guys go ahead, I'll protect the site from bears or something.”

Day drinks like a mother fucker. Also is the one who usually grills the food considering he's the best cook in the group. Naps all the time.

Once he's a bit more tipsy he's a lot more open to the adventure. Found a rope swing over a lake and went for it without hesitation.

Is the only one who's actually able to start a fire. He watches Nick and Jonas try to do the stick trick and just, “Oh my God, that's so stupid. Just use a lighter. Fuck.”

Tells the best scary stories at the campfire. Leaves the others trembling all night long with his terrifying tales of torment.

Sometimes, no don't tell anyone, he'll get up on the roof of his car and just stargaze... He's glad Nick got him to come. The stars are so clear outside of the city...

Nick: The Environmentalist™

IS THAT A FUCKING BEER CAN!? ON MY HIKING TRAIL!? ABSOLUTELY THE FUCK NOT!

Always looking for the closest trash can and picking up every piece of litter he finds on the trail or near the lake.

Brings little bags with him and gives everyone some to encourage them to also pick up any litter they see.

Always taking candid videos to document their experience. Will do a David Attenborough impression while filming his friends doing stupid shit. No, it's not a good impression, it's the worst British accent you've ever heard.

If he sees a stream he WILL follow it. Even if it goes off the trail. Probably the least responsible thing he does but it's just SO FASCINATING! If he does need help, Jonas can just howl like the wolf he is until Nick makes his way back.

He loves exploring. Always climbing on rocks, and trees.

Always trying to get Sans to participate, no matter how many times Sans says no.

Talks in length about how he wants to set up an off the grid cabin and just "live off the land," in a commune or something. Always talking about how he'd start a big garden, get rain catchers, solar panels, compost toilets... If Ted Kaczynski can do it, why can't he?

"I'm sorry, the fucking Unibomber?” “He had some good points! Don't worry I would never fucking bomb anyone, he was wrong for that.”

Nick always plays the guitar at the campfire and the boys make up random songs to sing with each other, with Nick leading them like the lil lead singer that he is. :,)

Alphys: Having several regrets...

Nope. Sans is right. Sleeping in a tent sucks! Worst sleep ever. She ends up sleeping in the car with Sans.

Chokes down the bitter ass coffee they have to brew themselves to feed her ✨addiction✨

She misses takeout delivery. And video games.

IS THAT A FUCKING SPIDER!?

She absolutely REEKS of bug spray. Mosquitoes don't even go after her, but she still sprays herself down out of paranoia.

Unlike Sans, she actually tries to participate in the "fun" activities cause she doesn't want to feel left out. Is always out of breath and has to be carried by Jonas halfway through because she is literally gonna have an asthma attack. She doesn't even have asthma, but she will after this five mile hike!

Walks into several spider webs, the poor dear.

Loves the campfire and listening to Sans's stories and Nick's songs. Probably the best part of camping is that moment with everyone. She also loves s'mores :)

S'mores are definitely the best part of camping... And also the fact it makes her feel like she's in a studio ghibli movie!

Jonas : The Wilderness Explorer ™

Jonas absolutely loves camping! Being outdoors in general is his jam. Just because he's a grunge skater boy doesn't mean he's above fishing and hiking.

Always trying to impress people with survivalist shit. Can pitch a tent like no one's business and builds little shelters out of sticks, leaves and moss for fun. Still hasn't figured out how to start a fire with sticks but he's persistent.

Really enjoys the fact Sans is out of his element. Constantly making fun of him. "HAH! look at this guy, he can't even pitch a tent."

After Sans decided he was above sleeping on the ground, Jonas thought it would be really funny to tie some hammocks up in the trees. Sans wakes up to the guys sleeping in the canopy and Jonas is just gloating, “WHO'S ABOVE WHO NOW, SANS!?"

When they're hiking, he always climbs up onto big rocks and howls because it's the funnest shit to do ever.

Loves swimming in the lake and when Sans finds the rope, he's overjoyed. Always doing a bunch of flips off of it. Definitely caught a fish with his bare hands.

The fish promptly slapped him in the face as it flailed from his grip to get back in the water.

LOVES s'mores, but can't eat chocolate, so he just eats the marshmallows off the stick. Always talking about how there's a proper way to roast the marshmallow but immediately burns it.

Is the one who can't sleep after Sans's ghost stories.

Midas: the Anti Boy-Scout 😈

Unlike Alphys, Midas isn't afraid of creepy crawlies... In fact, he's the one tormenting people with creepy crawlies >:)

Definitely placed a tarantula on top of Alphys's sleeping bag and is the reason she now refuses to sleep outside.

Finds the biggest bugs imaginable and chases Maeve on the hiking trail. He is a fucking menace to society and MUST be stopped!

He swims under water (with tinted goggles of course) and pretends to be a water snake to freak people out. Will like swim underneath them and his snake hair will definitely slither along their legs. Has been kicked in the face.

When he's not terrorizing his friends, he's binge drinking at the campsite and smoking. Probably knows all the mushroom types and exactly which mushrooms will get people off their shits.

That being said, he has used his powers for good once and caught a big cotton mouth near the campsite so no one would actually get hurt. Carried it away safely and no one was the wiser. An unsung hero, truly.

One time he went out by himself to just enjoy nature, and took his sunglasses off to enjoy the breeze on his face.

Almost turned a hiker into a monument. Thankfully, he was quick to dodge that bullet.

After Sans's ghost stories, Midas will purposefully stay up and fuck with the boys while they're trying to sleep. Like I said, a fucking menace.

Maeve: ✨ Polaroid Princess ✨

“Wow this is so aesthetic.” *📸*

Where Nick is taking stupid candid videos, Maeve is always forcing everyone into fun, cutesy group photos.

Loves watching the sunset, always crooning over the pretty colors.

Basking in a warm patch of sun is one of her favorite activities. Has definitely found a sunny meadow and just laid there to watch the clouds.

She's always put together, outfits are always coordinated. Definitely over packed and now has to wear EVERY outfit she packed for a two day camping trip.

Much like Nick, she's always trying to get Sans to participate but it's to no avail.

She is also the one to keep Alphys the most company and encourage her all the time when they're hiking. “Guys maybe we should turn around, Alphys is getting tired.” “No I'm fine!” -cue Jonas having to give her a piggy back ride back to the camp site, with Maeve tagging along like “I told you.”

Always forcing people to drink water to stay hydrated. “Hydrate or Die-drate."

Hates swimming, but, again, loves basking on the shoreline while the boys are goofing around in the water.

Jonas and Midas have pushed her in the water once and regretted it immediately because she hulked out on them. Went full Lioness on their asses. She is literally the tallest and biggest out of all them, they should've seen this coming 🤦🏼‍♀️ The bugs were one thing, but THAT CROSSED A LINE!

Frisk: Little Miss Sunshine 🌸😚

Absolutely precious. Always asking people if they need help while setting up the campsite. Definitely brought fairy lights and hangs them up in her tent and around their site in the trees. Everyone wants to hang out in her tent because she made it so cozy. Even Sans isn't above hanging out in there.

Is definitely super stoked about camping. Much like Jonas, she absolutely adores the outdoors and spending time in nature, even though she doesn't have any of the survival skills.

Always asking Jonas to show her how to do cool stuff and he is more than happy to teach her how to do things. He definitely shows off for her all the time, and she enjoys the attention.

Keeps the campsite tidy and organized, always agreeing with Nick about keeping the land clean and picking up litter.

When everyone goes off to hike, she stays behind with Sans to hang out with him alone.

She actually manages to convince him to enjoy the outdoors and the two go off on another trail by themselves, and just talk about life and shit. Occasionally they can hear Jonas howling or Maeve's blood curdling screams from being chased by bugs and they start giggling with each other.

Definitely makes little wildflower bouquets for everyone and also flower crowns.

Everyone is always making sure she's having fun.

Hangs out with Maeve because they're pretty similar. They're always taking pictures together and Frisk is always offering to take pictures of the group so Maeve can actually be in said pictures.

Loves swimming. Tried the rope but it unfortunately snapped on her. The boys constantly asked if she's okay after flopping on her back, but she's just giggling about it the whole time.

Is the one who kicked Midas in the face. She feels really bad about it, and he always teases her about it but hey, he shouldn't have been acting like the creature from the black lagoon!

Loves listening to Sans's ghost stories and Nick's songs too. Definitely the boys' biggest cheerleader.

At night, she climbs up on the roof of the car to stargaze with Sans, and the two point out constellations with each other and tell each other stories.

For some reason, these songs gives me Camping vibes so...

story:

once upon a time, two races ruled over earth, humans and monsters. one day, war broke between the two races. the humans were victorious and they sealed the monsters underground. they say that those who climb mt. ebott never come back. that is because they fall into the underground. monsters don't feel any resentment towards humans, though. no, they welcome every human with joy. humans are very treasured in the underground. in fact, the current leader of the royal guard is a human. but that's a different story. if you'd like, i could tell you...

long ago, the two kings lived together happily with their two best friends. it was all so fun and amazing. until one day, both of thee kings' friends got sick. they did all they could to try to save them, but with one of the two being the royal scientist and the best and one of the only doctors of the underground, it was almost impossible. ultimately, the two died, and the underground seemed much quieter and sadder. but life goes on, and even if you miss the ones lost, you must always remember the good times with a smile and don't get caught up in the past. alright kid, it was nice talkin' to ya, but i gotta get going. kingly duties y'know?

stuff abt the characters:

this au is mostly for fluff tbh

let's begin by talking about the two idiots that live in snowdin.

so flowey and paps are two best friends and roommates who cause chaos in snowdin town. paps hasn't changed much, besides being much more laid back when it comes most stuff and being a bit less childish. on the other side, flowey is more childish than before, but is still the same chaotic little flower who wants to see the world burn (but he doesn't really wish death upon anyone unless they deserve it). he was never asriel, he was born a flower monster. also these two have very obvious crushes on each other but are both too oblivious to realise and too scared to tell each other.

frisk is just a human who fell down to the underground and just kinda became friends with everyone. they like to help people and they admire chara a lot. they're best friends with monster kid (who still has the same role btw) and they're very goofy and love to joke around, even tho they can be serious if needed.

chara is another human that fell down and somehow ended up becoming thee captain of the royal guard after undyne's death. they are literally so cool what else can i say abot them.

tori just kinda chills inthe ruins. she lives in the same house as the original game and is still the caretaker of the ruins. she also has a snail racing business in waterfall. she's very good friends with sans and they cook together a lot. they're besties your honor <3. she gets along well with everyone else and she's kind of like a motherly figure to almost everyone who's younger than her.

metta was the former star of the underground, but after alphys' death, he became a bit more depressed. he's fine tho. kind of. he decided to take the role of royal scientist because he knew a lot of stuff from alphys and he was interested in it. he really misses her, but he's trying his best to move on. he was able to repair a body alphys made that was similar to his, which he gave to his cousin blooky, who is now the new star of the underground. he's become much more secluded and less scoial, but he still has a lot of friends and his past fame still sort of lingering. blooky is trying their best to cheer him up.

sans and asgore are happily married, no angst here bc i said so. sans goes to the ruins everyday to see if any humans fell down and to hang out with the monsters there who are usually lonely. he'd be the first monster you'd meet if you fell down to the underground, but im still not sure if i want to make a human that goes through the whole underground undertale style or not. asgore is the same as always, but a bit less depressed cuz he has a great husband who always cheers him up :D

undyne and alphys are fucking dead. thats it. if i were to do the human thing i said earlier, they'd probably show up at the end of the pacifist route to thank you for freeing the monsters. idk what else to say

i dont even have a name for this au. it just started cuz i had the thought of flowey with papyrus' personality and it just spiraled into this. help me...

EASY CHOICE. extremely easy choice. i normally don't pick favorites based on how i relate to them, but he's kind of an exception. i started paying attention to him at around the same time that i was really struggling with losing my memory, and i got SO attached to him that it helped me work through/come to terms with that. so he's really important to me. but, aside from that, i want to put him under a microscope, and i think he's funny, and the TRAGEDY of it all makes me insane, and my own headcanon stuff about him (plus the stuff i've done with him and vett and/or anteros) just makes it worse. he's just so interesting, there's so much going on and every bit of it makes me feel sick in the head. i will think about him holding those crystals in his little hands for the rest of my life i think. changed me permanently. i miss pandaemonium. i love you themis my scrinkly. that's my baby. have a gpose

2. alphinaud and alisaie (do not separate them.)

MY KIDS!!! MY LITTLE GUYS!!! they were the reason i actually started taking xiv seriously, so, also easy choice. izzy showed me the twins before i started playing and i got invested. i am very easily moved by teenage protagonists and also twin characters so alphinaud and alisaie were like catnip to me. i was waiting through all of ARR with bated breath for every moment that i could get of those little freaks and got attached to alphy so fucking fast. i've never understood the people who didn't like alphinaud through ARR because i always thought his spoiled-brat-ness was so fucking endearing. i was worried that i wouldn't like alisaie as much because she properly joins the party late, and alphinaud was my Favorite Favorite up until that point, but GOD i was proven so wrong. i love her so so much. that scene with her and ga bu on the cliff in post-heavensward is so vivid in my mind. like, branded there forever. both of the twins are just so so good, so determined to help people, so differently headstrong but they love each other SO MUCH... i have so many feelings about the twins. and don't get me started on their relationships with vett. alphivett makes me crazy but honestly alisaie and vett may make me even crazier (though how do you even quantify that?). THEY'RE FOILS!!! THEY'RE BEST FRIENDS!!! THEY CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT EACH OTHER!!! AUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! THROWING MYSELF ON THE FLOOR!!! have some gposes :)

hard for me to put her third tbh, but i can't tie all of them LOL. oh meteion, my dearest little bird. i cried so so much over her. the fact that she was an endwalker original character and yet she's up here at 3rd is crazy. there's so much i could say about her, but i don't even know where to start. she and vett are just so much alike, it was impossible for her not to get a death grip on me. the instant i saw her i knew she was going to wreck me and i was so, so right. admittedly a lot of the reason why i love her has to do with vett (because everything in xiv is colored by him to me) but that doesn't mean i don't love her just as she is. she's just so little, and she meant so well, and she suffered so much for a cause she didn't even understand. i love her dynamic with hermes so much (AND I LOVE HERMES!!! SO SO MUCH!!!!) and i love her kindness and i love her curiosity. my itty bitty sweetheart 🥺💙 AND she's vett's best friend!!! i will be talking about her a lot in one of the other asks i got for my birthday so i will end this here but look at these anyway :')

4. estinien

yknow i was thinking about this list really hard. because after 3rd it starts getting muddy because i love so many of these characters so much. but estinien was a standout i think, so he gets 4th. i am enthralled by his autistic nature. i love him i think he's silly but also i started bawling over him in garlemald when he showed up to save the twins and he made me cry the hardest in ultima thule (aside from the twins but that's Different that was a whole different thing). he's comforting to me. he's vett's big brother. i love the ways he expresses his love + care for things (awkwardly). i love thinking about how he's changed since ARR. i give him identity issues and chronic pain and dragon traits because it's correct. i just love estinien so much. my stinky dragon. also one of my favorite gposes i've ever done was this one of him and vett so like Yeag. no one gets them like i do (sobbing into my hands)

5. g'raha

i agonized over this spot for so long you have no idea. however! grandpa tia won out in the end. he makes me feel the agonies extremely badly. yet another character with weird identity issues and chronic pain YAYYYYYY. also funny thing, g'raha is the only one here without a huge amount of baggage with vett! lol. (count yourself lucky that i didn't put hades 5th because then there'd be a whole ramble about THAT unusual baggage) instead i smush him and vincent together like barbie dolls and put them in the long-lost-childhood-friends-to-lovers blender and torment them. but yeah. i love g'raha very much. i think about the crystal exarch for a little too long and feel like crumbling into nothingness. also, fun fact, he's my mom's favorite character :) so that's fun. anyway look at my vinraha boy

Sans - he’s much more energetic than og!sans, which caused a increase in his HP, which is now 680 HP. Sans is Deaf, and he always has been, but he never got the cochlear implants because he doesn’t want them. Sans does know American Sign Language, and so does a few other monsters, but he only uses ASL to communicate with Papyrus. Sans gets frustrated easily, and sometimes expresses it in unhealthy ways, like hitting his head(or skull)- Sans is demisexual and uses he/they pronouns, but mainly he/him. Sans is..kinda cold towards Frisk when they first meet, but he opens up later on!

Papyrus - Papyrus’ food is actually edible- He is learning ASL, and its going well! Papyrus doesn’t want to join the royal guard, EVER. He’s always around Sans for communication purposes. Papyrus is aroace and uses he/them. He is still friends with Undyne, and Undyne was actually the reason why Papyrus wants to become a chef when he gets on the surface!

Toriel - Toriel doesn’t fight Frisk when they wanted to leave the ruins, Toriel understands why. Toriel still loves Asgore, thats why she and Asgore decided that they needed a break until things work out. Toriel is straight and uses she/her.

Alphys - Alphys is really clumsy and very nervous, but she always tries her best! Alphys doesn’t beat herself up abt messing up anymore. Alphys is still a anime nerd and will always be hahahdmsks- Alphys is bisexual and uses she/her-

Undyne - Undyne knows that anime isnt real. Undyne uses she/they pronouns and is a lesbian <3 Undyne is..tough, but Undyne can get rlly nervous, like when you ask her how babies r made. Undyne was the one who got Papyrus interested into culinary arts b/c Papyrus didnt rlly do anything except clean when Sans didnt need communication and take care of the humans that fell, so yeah-

Mettaton - Mettaton wont ask you if you would smooch a ghost b/c thats super weird- Mettaton is transgender(he/him) and he is demiromantic <3 Mettaton doesn’t like to talk only abt themselves. Mettaton’s show is all about quizzes with less severe consequences, the quizzes cover a lot of topics too!

Napsblook - he’s pretty social, but not too social b/c introvert vibes- Napsblook is aromatic, and he uses he/they pronouns(mainly he/him)- Napsblook doesn’t mind being called Blooky by anyone. Napsblook isn’t on Mettaton’s show b/c of the noises and lights, so he helps Alphys in the lab instead b/c he doesn’t mind watching the show on TV since the lights are less bright and the sounds are less loud- Napsblook does have a vessel but its a lot smaller than Mettaton due to lack of resources </3

Frisk - Frisk is one of the few humans who tried to communicate with Sans. Frisk isn’t used to people being nice to them b/c of his home life. Frisk is genderqueer and uses any pronouns, including neopronouns, and ze is demisexual. Frisk had a crush on a cute Deaf girl but she was murdered.

Chara - Chara is blind, and they were lead to the mountain by their so called friends. Chara is nonbinary, and they are questioning their sexuality- Chara was born on October 31st, 1992 & the year is 2003, so Chara is 11 years old. Chara fell at 8 years old. Chara uses Asriel as their seeing-person. Chara got cancer and they weren’t able to beat cancer due to lack of medical stuff required to help fight cancer.

Asriel - Asriel is really shy and timid at first, but he opens up if you’re deemed not a threat! Asriel is sensitive to sound, and how Asriel copes with really loud noises can vary, but the common reaction for Asriel is hitting someone that is the closest to Asriel. Asriel(and Flowey) is 11, like Chara. Asriel uses he/them, and Azzy is bisexual. Azzy is Asriel’s nickname

Flowey - he’s a lil shit, but they do get nervous when Chara is mentioned, b/c he and Azzy are the same person.

Asgore - Asgore doesn’t want to hurt anyone anymore, but he has no idea how to tell Toriel that he doesn’t want war anymore.

Venus, she's a 16 year old artist and writer. She doesn't have the best home life (based off the writing I sent two nights ago) and struggles with her identity and personality (due to her home life). She founded her own world of Undertale to cope with her trauma.

She reimagined how she'd live through Undertale. How she'd convince toriel to come with her, how she'd make jokes with sans and paps, how she'd catch on to alphys and Undyne and most likely push for them to be together more than anything and other such with metaton and her having a talk about being trans (her questioning if she's trans or nonbinary or cis) and figuring out she's NB and stuff as such.

She'd draw these scenarios and post them online with little to no interaction but she didn't really care, in her mind the only way to make her au real was by posting it and in a since it was real. Ink sans ended up having an eye on her when she finally did start getting traction on Tumblr, Twitter, and TikTok (very very little on Tumblr n Twitter, most was on tiktok)

He saw how she changed people's personalities and how people wanted to interact with this small niche au she made. Most asking for scenarios and her providing a small video of them.

Venus actually ends up meeting ink on accident due to a depression episode and her not posting for almost 3 weeks (depression episode caused by a close friend / animal d34th, I can't decide which tbh/g)

omg top 5 utdr bosses...... i need to know

1 - undyne / undyne the undying ive been SO vocal about this but everything about her fucks so hard from her armor to her themes to THE GIMMICK WITH THE GREEN SOUL AND THE SHIELD ARE YOU KIDDING ME ITS GORGEOUS. AND THE LIKE THEMATIC IMPLICATIONS OF THE UNDYING & DETERMINATION??? LIKE. MY GOD. everything about both her battles were an absolute delight and i dont even get mad when she kills me im just like yknow what you did your job you got me to stop killin. proud of you wifey.

2 - MAD MEW MEW OMG. her gimmick was so fun i spent the entire game looking forward to when i could go back and fight her. it wasnt too hard but was very unique and memorable! her design also rules. catgirls 4 lyfe

3 - JEVILLLLL it was frustratimg at first and i dont love his music but i DO love his voicelines and slowly figuring out the trick to getting him was the most satisfying experience ive had in a long time. my weird uncle 10/10 the cooler deltarune secret boss fight spamneo dni

4 - asgore! incredibly easy and straightforward as a battle but definetly heartwrenching, his themes have been my favourite songs on the soundtrack since i first heard them, and everything about asgore, his movements his dialogue the mechanics of the fight his design his environment design is all so iconic and memorable. something changed in me watching him smash the mercy button. not to mention the way the denizens of the underground talk about him with such fondness and reassure you about what a sweetheart he is. my goodness. hes down this low because deltarune made him my cringe fail deadbeat fathers self-insert which is SO funny but does damage me inside.

5 - mettaton! one of the most difficult pascifist run fights by far ime but its very charming! from his gimmick to the music i love him dearly. hes just so instantly very funny and endearing. down this low because tbh my general dislike of alphys and hotland as a whole killed this section of the game for me. getting to hear metal crusher is worth it, but ive always felt kind of strung out and bored by hotland, like, frustrated at best. it just doesnt appeal to me. i believe in waterfall supremacy.

and this is neither here nor there but i think a big part of my distaste for hotland is that a lot of the runamuck enemies kind of bore me, which i think is a MAJOR win for deltarune because every single npc and enemy is so memorable and charming, but once i get past like, temmie, i have a hard time caring abt the ut random enemies. deltarune definetly has the more engaging combat system which i think made these little dudes much more fun.

#like do you feel me? ut the combat was very one note and you were just clicking on the dialogue options and guessing #but in dtr its less of a 'which option' puzzle and every enemy has their own unique little ways to engage with it #especially in ch2 i LOVE the throwing and the catchimg the mice and the dancing my god.#theres not a ton of things i find inherently better/more charming in dtr but i do definetly ENJOY combat more #in ut i avoided it as much as possible but in dtr ive actually been chasing down and recruiting everyone i can get!#red.reply #THANK YOU SO MUCH BTW #i expect that when i get to queen she'll be on this list somewhere but shhh im not thereyet #still on the Basard

- rouxls and berdly are just. free. unleashed. somewhere in the world. this isn't good - queen is literally amazing, mettaton #3, she gives off such homestuck vibes and no its not just because she talks like kanaya (but that certainly didnt help) - queen is a gamer - everything about it is just. so colourful and vibrant and god i love it - alphys tries her best to be a good teacher but isn't because she clearly had trouble in school when she was a student and wants to be the good teacher she would have wanted to have but she just, is not cut out to teach tbh

I think Undyne's determination has less to do with like something that happened in the past and more like the overlap between determination as an actual physical thing VS a spiritual thing. Whereas the amalgamates were injected with determination by Alphys, Undyne makes her OWN. You've killed her best friend. You're going to kill the love of her life. You're going to kill her mentor. You're going to kill everyone. You've killed HER. But she still has to stop you. Everyone is counting on her 1/2

Undyne's whole motif is letting the monsters of the Underground achieve their hopes and dreams. Theres a reason she is the boss fight in Waterfall, the most backstory rich area in the game. Hope and dreams have just as much weight as determination does, its what helps you defeat Asriel. And Undyne the Undying's design mimics Asriel's because in Genocide SHE is the heroine, SHE is the determined hero that defies death in order to save everyone she loves via the hopes and dreams of everyone (2/2)

Sorry I just really fucking love Undyne Undertale fhfhfndkdk she willingly letting herself be used in an experiment to help her people is Very Good tho too hmmmm

but you can definitely be right!!!! tbh your idea seems much more par for the course than the spaghetti im throwing at the wall

even then, though, it’s stll so interesting bc like!!!! undyne’s courage is undeniable, and her fight to protect the underground plays Such a huge role in her whole waterfall arc. and, in the spiritual sense, she is absolutely determined!! that just makes me WONDER though bc, like, canonically, monsters Are Not determined! they don’t have that threshold!

and then, in looking at determination in the spiritual sense, what exactly makes undyne different? is it that her desire to live and protect the underground unlocks that threshold needed for determination? at one point, could monsters be determined, but then their millennia trapped underground biologically/psychologically stripped them of that? so then could any monster in the underground, when facing high enough stakes, have that determination? or is it just undyne?

bc then i think about the other bosses in either route, like papyrus, mettaton, asgore, sans. where undyne is the monster/boss capable of possessing determination, sans is probably the one least likely to have any threshold for determination (this is bc his entire boss fight is him realizing he can no longer be an observer, he is literally the last line of defense between chara and the annihilation of all monsters). mettaton is complicated bc as a napstablook turned corporeal, i dont even know where to BEGIN with him. but then there’s papyrus and!! it feels like he should be capable of feeling determined. in both the pacifist and genocide route, he is so assured that the human has some internal goodness. while, in the genocide route, that hope could be translated to fear, that still makes me wonder: under what circumstances could a monster’s determination be unlocked? is it not solely life or death? does it require some ulterior motives (aka undyne’s whole character being protecting the underground)? and like!!! it’s just so fun to think about bc, say it is undyne’s spiritual determination being unlocked, it’s so interesting that she’s the one differentiated!! that even papyrus, a character brimming with good and happiness and love, doesn’t have that determination, but undyne, who has a similar type of passion and goodness within her, does!!!

with experiment undyne, i will admit my theory is very much uhh wild! and unhinged! and, while my theory is much more playing in the “what if’s” of the science of artificial determination, it still makes me wonder! especially in the boss fight herself. ever since i first saw her genocide boss fight, i’ve always been a bit fixated on her eye, specifically the one w/ the eye-patch that eventually seems to have Some type of arrow power. while this definitely could have just been A Design Choice (and one i stand by!!), undertale is a game that reveals its complete lore when the pacifist and genocide route are put together. thus, in a hypothetical situation, i don’t think it would be out of the question that undyne’s eye could still Do that even in a pacifist route.

but even then, there are holes to poke! such as why doesn’t she use it? if undyne has been injected with artificial determination, why is she, frankly, normal until it’s a matter of life and death?

(to cut to the punchline before i get into my bullshit: i think it’s bc, at first, it seemed as if the artificial determination just Didn’t Work and had no affect, when in reality it needed to be met with spiritual determination as well)

and, again, i know i’m playing with a lot of hypotheticals right now, and mostly this is me just kinda fun bullshit theorizing, but i think it could have something to do with the fact that she has the threshold for spiritual determination! the reason i even think that she would offer herself up to determination experimentation is bc of the loyalty and love she has for asgore and the underground. i would argue that she is just as invested in asgore’s plan as asgore himself is, and she obviously sees him as some type of father-figure. so that alone gives her this Drive to do whatever it takes for the underground to survive.

so, therefore, i think in regards to this hypothetical experiment undyne, i think it quite literally is that spiritual determination threshold combined with artificial determination

and for that, i quickly want to talk abt the amalgamates and why they tie into this:

the timeline: corpses/souls injected with determination --> no reaction --> corpses wake up and act normal --> ??? happens --> (quickly leads to) amalgamates

and so then that once again raises the question: what differentiates undyne?

i think, for that, we then have to consider another question: if most monsters do not have the physical determination to continue living after death, can that determination be given when they’re already dead? monsters in general already have no threshold for determination, so can that be artificially made if it never existed in the first place?

bc while alphys’s experiment, iirc, was to see what happened when a soul was injected with determination, i think the other much needed question is if monster souls could even Handle determination

and, while we do not know specifically what went wrong with the amalgamates (aka like How did they melt together), we do know that their physical forms really were not able to handle the artificial determination, imo most likely bc they do not even have a threshold for spiritual determination

but undyne is, as you have noted, different!

so, frankly, i think you’re right! i think undyne does have an inherent spiritual determination. it’s uncommon in monsters, but her want to save the world is enough to leave her determined

however, i think That would have just been enough to keep her alive

i think it’s artificial determination that gave her that final form! to reference back to the amalgamates, they were all creatures whose powers we had seen before, but different now and, specifically, more powerful. that very same thing could be said for undyne! her powers are, essentially, things we have seen before, but fucking to Max Intensity

AND THEN!! AND THEN!!!!!

when you do kill heroine undyne, she doesn’t turn to dust first

she melts first, and then turns to dust!!!!!

and, honestly, it’s that small detail that sent me down this rabbit hole, bc the only ever time we’ve seen monsters melted together are the amalgamates!

i think the main difference between heroine undyne and the amalgamates is the fact that undyne, at first, had No Reaction to the determination at first bc, since she most likely already had this secret threshold for spiritual determination, it wasn’t the Biggest of changes. it wouldn’t have had such a drastic reaction on her physical form bc, even if she didn’t know it yet, it wasn’t an entirely foreign substance

the amalgamates, however, aka monsters who had no spiritual determination, could only handle the artificial determination for an unknown amount of time before their bodies began rejecting the chemicals and becoming..... that

of course, then, this leaves me with even more questions, such as could undyne sustain this final form? would her body eventually give out, overcome by determination? was this form only meant for life or death situations?

and uhhh i think this is the end!! if you made it this far and are thinking to urself “damn you’re really an english major when you write like this?? this isn’t even comprehensible” do not fret!! i know this theory is kinda a shitshow, and it’s one of those things where i can keep myself up all night thinking abt this and talking myself in circles bc there are some points that i think have strengths and other points that are probably pretty weak

basically though!! i see the connection between artificial determination and undyne through the fact that her form actually changes, the reveal of her legit power eye, the way her attacks have been altered, and the fact that she melts at the end (akin to the amalgamates’ appearances) before poofing into dust

this has been,,,, a shitshow i am so sorry i hope this was at least somewhat understandable ajkdsjkdsjk

Random Ask Dump - Anniversary Edition (50+ REALLY OLD ASKS!)

Going through OLD AND CRUSTY ASKS to try and chip away at the inbox. HERE WE GOOOO...

That’s an interesting idea, and I could run it by Cake, but I think it would honestly be a LOT to track from a programming perspective. Especially ‘cause killing Sans is gonna result in a “bad ending,” so to speak.

An attempt was made by Undyne to have all three hang out at the same time. Papyrus was SUPER EAGER. ...but one thing led to another and there were many messy explosions of chemicals and lots of smoke. Alphys had to step in before things got out of hand. It was all very daunting for her. Pap and Undyne are VERY LOUD, VERY AMBITIOUS PEOPLE.

I actually have some ideas of some side comics I may do at some point! :o It’s just that right now there’s a lot going on.

I need to poke Carni about that at some point. He’s just been very busy with other projects!

Clearly he’s standing on the “out to lunch” sign.

I wanna say that it’s very possible in theory. :o It probably affects them differently since monsters’ emotional state affects their magic and their physical state.

I do like little easter eggs like that, though I’m not sure where I’d fit it in atm just ‘cause I already showed Pap’s room, haha.

I made the chase theme for Mad Dummy as well as Mad Mew Mew’s battle theme. @pinewsun made the battle theme for Mad Dummy, and @thomasthepencil made the Season Dude battle theme and MD’s overworld theme. :o

That’s a really fascinating conundrum! You’re absolutely right- if IF was a standalone game, then from a writing standpoint, having more subtle implications would make sense! The reason I chose a different approach for IF is because it’s set after Flowey’s already known to be evil and I like to give different POVs rather than stick to just Frisk’s.

That’s an interesting thing, actually- both fights lean heavily on the fourth wall. Both are treated as climaxes for their given routes. It’s funny because Asriel’s fight is a lot more straightforward and less meta by comparison.

I agree! The thing with Papyrus is that he’s extremely powerful- he just doesn’t want to kill. But it’s a deliberate choice not to kill- he’s able to force his attacks to do next to no damage. He’s also pretty darn crafty, as he made the Gauntlet himself. It really is just a case of Undyne’s personal biases and concern for him.

That was a deliberate choice. :O Papyrus is very influential toward Frisk. He is best skeleboi.

It is possible to whistle through teeth. ...alternatively, magic. As for the music, Undertale implies that the music is heard! Maybe it’s just... a thing that exists in this world. Or it’s just meant to be a silly meta joke. I try to keep it somewhat ambiguous other than occasional nods to it. Chara’s pants are lighter because I just... felt like it, I guess? Haha. I wanted their feet and pants to stand out more from each other, so they have khaki pants. As for the Undyne fight being animated, well, this ask is old by now, but Sparks was the one who was down for it.

Well, the teaser’s been out for a long time now, but that’s the idea! It’s also why this has been in production for so long. The Determinator has some really over the top attacks (that weren’t even shown in the teaser), and Sparks animated in Photoshop. That’s how hardcore he is.

Sometimes I do have slumps and burnouts (see Antipode’s lengthy hiatus), but breaks lead to me being refreshed and coming back with even more enthusiasm than before!

Flowey appears in a few background shots in the Ruins!

When Sans says “or maybe...” he looks at the empty flower pot. This was one of the earliest bits of foreshadowing about who created Flowey, and nobody noticed it at the time!

The MTT vending machines initially look like this but have helpful items.

And then they look like this, with an angry face and pose- Mad Dummy has possessed them!

As of Part 38, it’s been revealed that he did first meet Asgore as “Santa.” As for whether or not he knows the truth, time will tell. :o

Oh, these are excellent suggestions for calls! I’ll try to keep these in mind.

So, I believe Glyde uses the Mysterious Door motif. Jerry uses the motif in its battle theme- I believe it’s a mix of original motif and Wrong Number song?

Sans is a master of power napping. He probably gets a decent amount of sleep, though.

There are a lot of ways to interpret Pap’s lack of sleep! In IF, he can get by without it, but he also has a lot of reasons to avoid sleeping. Some reasons include productivity but also due to a looooot of heavy baggage. More on that later.

I think sleep can definitely make monsters healthier. Rest = better mental health as well as physical health, and with how important mental and emotional help is for monsters, that’s very important!

They just really like socks. Socks are warm. Socks are slinky. And googly eyes are the best. So they took on the form of a really eccentric sock puppet and sock collector. Scandalous.

It also has Alphys’ motif, as the two are the leaders of the royal guard!

I would say the lack of Asgore as an influence has left Undyne slightly less grounded? Like, she had Toriel and Gerson in her life, but her relationship with Toriel is... definitely not quite as close? Like, Toriel by that point kept people at an arm’s length due to losing multiple children (including one from old age). So, while they were on friendly terms until the aftermath of the DT experiments and the tapes’ release, it was more like mutual respect and a sorta professional relationship with Undyne admiring Toriel and wanting to spare her from more heartache.

That is a really interesting idea. While that didn’t happen, I do need to maybe revisit the grumpy dog at some point or another. He’s still a lil’ salty.

I think in terms of layout it won’t change much, but there will be new/different content for sure. :O

Mad Dummy’s base design is mostly original, but she has a wig + headband from DIO from Jojo Part 3! Fun fact: While MTT has Kamina shades, Papyrus’ goggles are loosely based on Simon from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann in terms of color. :O

So basically, when Asriel defeated Frisk, he had the power over the timeline to reset it as he pleased- in theory. However, that power was overwhelming for him, and due his lack of understanding OF said power and one last ditch attempt at resisting from Chara, things went wrong.

There is a track that takes some inspiration from Rage Awakened. It’s not released, and it’s not exact, but it won’t be released for a WHILE. Like until the part comes out.

I think it’s just the fact that tacos are so random. Like, my biggest beef in that regard was that OG Underswap had a lot of arbitrary replacements for things in UT and not all of them made sense. Like, if Sans was to make a foreign food, ramen would’ve made more sense due to Alphys being weeb trash, haha.

I think Forgespring for me because I had to make the tileset myself (it took a few months, I think?), but Aquarius was definitely in the works for a while. But once I had the tileset from Fours, the rooms were very easy to design!

None taken! We know that with headcanons, everyone is gonna have their own interpretations. These are just the voices we liked for Fireglobe Production, but everyone has their right to their favored interpretations!

Yeah, Knight Knight is one of the coolest CORE mercs in the original game. It was fun to repurpose them for Inverted Fate as royal guards. :o It made room for unique encounters in the CORE in the form of them robots- as Undyne would rather use machines than other monsters to do her work.

Personally, I see it as an Asriel motif, but I also acknowledge that at one point it WAS gonna be an Asgore motif. Toby has a habit of just using whatever music works for a scene (see sans. at the snail farm.)

I do have a few ideas, though I won’t say for what yet. :o

He’s likely made blueprints for that train. :P

It probably would just have different flavor text/progression!

So basically, I treat the starting motif for BAaTH/Power of NEO is just a “true hero” motif.

MTT is definitely major in IF! As for whether or not he’ll have a hangout, time will tell. There’s definitely more to resolve with him, though.

I’m gonna remake at least a few of the older tracks, including Regret. My goal is just to bring the OST to a similar standard of quality.

So, animated parts coming up: Part 47, Part 49, Part 50. There may be some other parts, but we’re gonna wanna scale things back for a little bit for the sake of all our sanities.

I go with both. ;)

Honestly, probably fairly similar to the bully fight in the Ruins- which is why I ultimately decided not to do one. Both fill similar archetypes, though I think if I did do a battle, I woulda still had Flowey interrupt at the end and scare them off.

It’s a very emotional scene. Far more tragic than her geno death, IMO.

Well, the main goal in that regard is the remasters (Part 9 is in progress). Otherwise, I do think these hiatuses are good for working ahead. I’ve still gotta do more work, though, because my buffer this time around is a lot smaller from the trial-hiatus buffer. Alas!

Honestly, the website is the best thing to happen to IF. It’s allowed us to do so much with the comic’s presentation that would be impossible with imgur. NORIX IS THE BEST...

It’s dawning on me that I don’t think I’ve ever actually talked about it on here???

Okay, so

Swapfell!

The world of Swapfell’s a touch different from Underfell. I guess the best way to differentiate would be to compare Underfell to more metal and rock, while Swapfell’s more punk and grunge. It’s also more “dictatorship” and less “corrupt kingdom”.

It follows the Swap standard of Queen Toriel, Guards Sans and Alphys, RS Undyne, sentry/Judge Papyrus, Ruins keeper Asgore, and Chara. I’ll give a quick run down of each of those characters!

Sans

- Captain of the guard

- Toriel’s most trusted advisor

- Bit of a maniac

- Control Issues

- Scarily smart tbh

- Likes Asian food

- Living embodiment of sarcasm

- Bit of an asshole but despite this is a good friend and older brother

Papyrus

- Tired

- No like seriously he’s so tired

- Designs all of the traps used by the guard

- Very terribly anxious but very good at not showing it

- Goes from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye and trust me you don’t want to be on his blacklist

- Is composed of at least 40% maple syrup at any given time

- Makes really good puns at the worst possible times if for nothing else that to watch his brother struggle not to laugh at them

- Did I mention he’s tired

Undyne

- Extremely untreated bipolar disorder

- Runs very hot and cold

- Means well, tries hard, still struggles

- Has done some pretty fucked up things in the hopes of making monsters stronger

- Likes Papyrus because he’s smart and funny and doesn’t treat her like she’s crazy or evil

- Terrible taste in fashion, absolutely horrendous

Alphys

- Did someone say self worth issues?

- The dust on her hands has slowly begun eating away at her self trust

- She despises what she’s done to survive

- Copes by social isolating and binging anime and sitcoms every chance she gets

- Still a very dedicated and hard working guard

- Just wants things to get better

Toriel

- Cold and calculating

- Values loyalty over all else

- Merciless when she deems fit

- Has a large variety of teas that serve different purposes, ranging from helping with sleep to poison that makes you suffer lol

- Doesn’t even really want to wage war with the humans but has her mind set to believe there’s no other way (very stubbornly)

- Not...evil...per se...but not........great

Asgore

- Also very tired

- A touch neurotic

- Paranoid Toriel will send monsters to bring him back to New Home and publicly executing him for betraying her (unfortunately not even a super unrealistic fear)

- One of the few kind monsters left

Chara

- A good kid with a rough life

- Really just wants to help everyone

- Pretty silly

- Loves animals

- Loves singing

- Knows how to make splints

- So incredibly curious it usually outweighs their common sense

- Terrible with cooking will burn water and set the house on fire

She’s extremely flustered by it in thebeginning… and might continue to be for a while. At the same time,though, she really enjoys being taken care of. So it’s… aparadox. Thankfully, she eventually settles into it wonderfully. Shecares for (Name), and (Name) cares for her, so why shouldn’t theyboth want to do that for someone they love?

Asgore

Ah,golly… they know they don’t have to do this, right? He’sperfectly capable of doing all of this himself, so… doesn’t(Name)have something else they would rather be doing? It’s not that hedoesn’t appreciate it, it’s just ―hard to put into words. He’s spent a lot of time alone, and he’shadto be self-sufficient and learn to be okay with taking care ofhimself. It might take him a little while to adjust, given that hehas to relearn the fact that just because he cando something himself doesn’t mean he hasto anymore. Once he does, he’s much calmer about it. It really isnice to be taken care of sometimes.

Sans

Pft,geez, is his S/O trying to get him to call them “mommy”?C’mon, scram. He’s not a babybones and the last thing he needs issomeone working themselves into a tizzy over him. (Papyrus doesenough of that for the entire household, anyway.) Even though deepdown he does like it, he’s also a very chill person and there aretimes that their concern for him just spikes his anxiety. He tries tokeep a lid on that, because he knows this is just how (Name) showstheir love for him. Mostly he just accepts their worry with a lazygrin, but if it doesever get to be too much, he’snot shy about letting them know.
