heartstopper headcanons because i need them.

nick is one of those people who type on a keyboard with his pointer fingers only.

charlie paints his toenails for fun rather than his fingernails, which tao describes as a “crime”.

tao is a terrific liar.

elle’s favorite thing to draw are cats. if she’s ever out and sees a stray, she’ll give it a snack of some sort and draw it while it feasts.

tao is allergic to dogs.

darcy has a collection of temporary tattoos. tara was super nervous the first time she visited darcy’s house, but that dissipated when darcy decided to show off the collection and they just tattooed each other for an hour.

charlie does some impressive cartwheels.

darcy did ballet for five years when she was younger and always got in trouble for pirouetting into the walls. she didn’t mean to honestly, but one thing led to another and she’d end up in a heap on the floor again.

issac spends his free time at playgrounds. he says that the swings are the ideal reading spot. whenever there are children at the playground, he sends an angry message to the group chat regarding the fact that he can no longer read in peace.

imogen styles her hair with butterfly clips whenever possible. once she put one in nick’s hair when he wasn’t looking, and he walked around with it on until charlie (who absolutely adored it) pointed it out.

tori stole charlie’s diary once when he was about ten years old and memorized every word. when she’s trying to convince him to do something he wouldn’t like to do she just begins quoting some embarrassing line and charlie instantly does whatever she wants.

elle likes putting makeup on tao. tao always lets her because he finds it super fascinating.

tara loves horror movies, which is something she and tao bond over.

Summary - sometimes your friends argue over who will take care of you when your small.

Authors note - I posted this a few weeks ago and I just rewatched heartstopper for the 100th time and I decided to write the full fic, I am not at all affiliated with the writing of heartstopper. I hope you enjoy!

"Y/N tao and elle are here for you love" your mother called up the stairs to get your attention.

You loved hanging out with your friends on the weekends, of course you saw the girls everyday at school but never really got the chance to see the boys during the week.

Normally this would be your favourite day of the week where you would bond over milkshakes and make forts with duvets and blankets and watch old films.

However today you were nervous to do so, you were on the edge of regression.

Making your way towards you wardrobe you pulled down the baby pink box containing your little items.

Pulling out a dummy and a soft toy you threw your bag over your shoulder and made your way out of your room. "Coming mum!" You yelled down stepping carefully down the stairs "morning Y/N" Elle said kindly pulling you into her side "hiya!" You squealed nestled into her curls.

"Okay have aliens invaded your brain or something? Why are you so happy this morning?" Tao grumbled kindly behind a side smile "nothing I'm just excited" you giggled pulling Elles hand towards the door.

The two of them shared a excited knowing look before closing the door behind them.

Things had hone well for the majority of the day.

You had gone to grab some milkshakes out in the park, nick brought his lovely dog Nellie too so you had the opportunity to run around with her.

The seven of you were currently bringing down blankets and pillows from nicks bedroom to his living room in the process of making a blanket fort using the sofa and some chairs from the kitchen to prop it up.

After laying the final blanket over the chairs you all sat down on the pile of pillows that had been thrown on the floor.

Looking out of the corner of your eyes you saw Charlie's reach over for some fairy lights, tilting your head back you saw him string them through the chairs.

It looked beautiful however the downside of the calming setting did have a downside, it was causing you to regress.

You always felt weird about regressing in front of your friends, it wasn't the fact that you thought they would judge you it's just that you never wanted to ruin anything by being small.

While you were having this conflict inside your head charlie noticed you eyes becoming hazy, instantly realising what was happening you quietly got up and grabbed your bag.

Pulling out your soft toy and your dummy he made his way back to the blanket fort when he got back he could saw Darcy reach out to give them to you.

Here is when the competition began.

The thing is whenever you were feeling smaller you never had a set caregiver it was just whoever was there with you but every so often everyone would be there, just like today.

"Pass them here charlie I'll give them to her" Darcy smiled "no no it's okay" charlie answered stepping closer towards you "really it's no problem-" "Why don't you pass them here were closer" Tao said gesturing towards him and Elle.

They often had these playful arguments when deciding who would take care of you, everyone wanted to do it. The only problem was while the argument went on you were getting antsy.

Noticing you discomfort nick nudged Tara while bringing you to lay you back on his chest. "Oi you lot, stop arguing" Tara quipped leaning up to grab the items from Charlie's hands.

Passing nick the dummy to place in your mouth she adjusted the planet on your body and your soft toy in your arms "there we go, you comfortable?" Nick asked smiling down at you nodding your head up at the others.

"Hi little one" charlie smiled sitting down next to you. Not wanting to speak you just gave him a side smile and a wave. "Sorry Y/N we got a bit carried away Elle said giving you a guilty smile.

Reaching your arm up towards her she knelt down beside you allowing your to hug her arm earning each of them to coo over you. Out of the corner of your eye you saw Darcy switch the film with the remote.

After everyone got settled down again you heard the calming intro music on abney and teal seeing Darcy cue up Wallace and gromit to play after the episode finished.

While some of the day went a bit messily you now had a new routine and it looked like it was going to work out really well.
