I'M SO GLAD YOU ASKED!!!

Tankdad is the idea where John Captain, Tankman, is Pico's dad. I'm pretty sure that this comic was the first instance of it but I know for sure that it gained popularity after Week 7 came out. As you know, I brainrot over it (my PFP for the past two years).

Some people consider it an AU, other people a headcanon—it's a headcanon for me. I'm pretty sure people agree that he's the adoptive father of Pico since he has a dad in canon but if people think he's the biological father then that's even more epic!!

Tankdad can also include Steve, too, whether it be as Pico's other dad or uncle. By extension, this opens up the Tankfamily idea, where the soldiers in the Tankmen universe are Pico's family members, adoptive or not.

I've seen people give the Tankdad idea hate and it makes me sad because it's meant to be a wholesome idea why do people think it's bad??? :(

What was boyfriend life before he was adopt by sarv?

I'm glad you asked! I've been thinking about this for a while now.

Boyfriend was an orphan up until he was around 10 years old. He lived at an orphanage, but often times ran away/would sneek out to spend time with Pico and Piconjo (who are also adopted in this au by Tankman). Pico's family were really the only people who made Bf happy in those times.

Boyfriend was always scared that he'd be prevented from seeing his best friend if any of the caretakers at the orphanage found out, so they kept it a secret

He was bounced around to a few homes, but none of them up until Sarv stuck. In fact, when Sarvente first adopted him he thought she would return him as well, and it took him a while to accept and realize that she wasn't going to leave him behind.

YEAH YEAH!! I was thinking of who the Hatz could be mixed with and my mind instantly went to the PS trio, because Skid and Pump are mixed with Boyfriend and it just. Made sense to me :p

Also something I didn't mention in the original ask is that Roy's father and uncle are mixed with Steve and Tankman as a little reference to the Tankdad headcanon. I thought it would be fun (and gives an easy excuse for how Roy has a gun)

A silly idea I had for a theoretical "song" would be the Hatz chasing after Skid and Pump after they steal Roy's gun. You'd play as the Hatz and Skid would shoot on occasion, though unlike Daddy Dearest his bullets only hurt, because he's obviously not as good as a shot lol

OMG THE TANKDAD HEADCANON I remember that too qwq (gettin so many memories,, like I wasn't super active in the fandom but I did witness a good chunk of the stuff that came out of it lmao)

And good lord Skid with a gun,, his as can NOT be trusted with weapons /silly
