A Link Too Young AU

Help. I keep thinking up AUs I got a ton of stuff not even finished. So here's another one cause I might as well. This revolves around Legend of Zelda, Hyrule Warriors concept and Linked Universe AU by Jojo.

Basically it revolves around an iteration of Link getting dragged into the insanity but there's one problem. Said chosen is a 6 year old who doesn't want anything to do with this. Too bad Hylia says desperate times call for super desperate measures.

Thankfully this young Link has a protector(s) that can do all the fighting instead while the boy gets some semblance of a childhood during this war. Now the protector can be canon or OC characters from different series.

Reason being this is an AU idea that everyone can try their hand at than just me. Cause let's face it, we all like messing with any iteration of this hero especially when it comes to fluff, angst or trauma. Also the whole big brother dynamic with the other Links.

I already got a bunch of ideas for this involving at least four OCs and two different canon characters. Starting with the OCs...

Tikki Cho

A Glitch Type Rabbit Yaoguai and owner of the Sweet Healing Bakery. The Link she raises is actually her biological son so he's also a rabbit who inherited her Mimic traits as well. He was born from a magical mishap so he doesn't have a biological father. His nickname is 'Sweet' since the kid is just that, a sweet young man.

Tikki and Sweet get dragged in by Dark Link into Wild's Hyrule. Said mother rabbit practically throttling every monster that got too close to her bunny before the group comes across the two. Might have a possible pairing with Fierce Deity (who I'll call Valion) or least likely Time. Sweet will definitely call either one dad so 💁.

Jodoc (Old Picture)

An amnesiac Joestar and Stand User of Three Days Grace. Jodoc is his Link's older foster brother/current guardian. This strange man teaches his little brother how to use Spin and Hamon but works as a part time musician. Link's nickname is 'Sunshine' since whenever the kid uses Hamon, his brown hair turns sun blonde. (Kid in the pic isn't Link.)

Jodoc and Sunshine get involved when a group of Bokoblins kidnaps the latter with the Joestar in pursuit. They end up in Warrior's Hyrule where Time manages to save Sunshine before his kidnappers got far. Sunshine awakens a Stand during this situation which ends up freeing the Fierce Deity from his mask prison. Found Family dynamic so no pairings.

Fizzy Pop

Owner of the Sugarpop Bakery, twin sister of Lola Pop and ARMS fighter. Fizzy is a widow and Link's biological mother so he inherited his blue hair but also ARMS' gene from her. His ARMs basis being that of a lock and chains which gave him the nickname 'Spiral'.

Fizzy and Spiral get involved with the group by being unceremoniously dropped into Termina's Clock Town. Wind finds Spiral playing with the Bomber Kids which leads the group to run across his mother selling pastries. Fizzy and Valion pairing since the Fighter sees the Links as sons.

Chimeris

Songstress of Wonderworld Theatre and Neutral Type Maestro. Chimeris adopted her Link when he was just a baby. This Link wants to be a musician for the theatre when he grows up which earns him the nickname 'Tempo'.

Chimeris and Tempo get involved when Dark Link breaks into the theatre. The two are dragged into Ancient Cistern and thankfully Sky spots them being attacked by the shadow from his Loftwing with the rest of the group arriving just in time to help. Possible pairing with Valion as Chimeris ends up being the mom figure for the group.

For canon characters at the moment...

Sun Wukong (Adventures From China)

One iteration of the legendary Victorious Fighting Buddha and Great Sage Equal To Heaven, Sun Wukong. The group already has one (trapped) god on their team alongside an experience with monkeys at some point. Why not drop a two in one deal.

Debating whether Link will be a human or an monkey yaoguai, he's definitely getting immortality though while he's cared for by the Monkey King. His nickname in the group is 'MP', short Monkey Prince. The group encounter the duo upon landing on Mount Huagao which is Sun Wukong's domain. No pairings just a lot of found family and monkey shenanigans.

Lunagaron (Frostfang)

Moonlight Nocture and one of the Three Lords, Lunagaron. This particular Fang Wyvern known as Frostfang to the locals is mildly docile around humans. She won't attack unless provoked. Link is a feral child who she raised as if he was one of her cubs. Unlike any normal human, this iteration of the hero was born with transformation magic similar to Twilight's wolf form but more akin to his Lunagaron mother in appearance. This Link's nickname is 'Snow' due to his white hair.

Frostfang and Snow get involved when Dark Link kidnaps the feral boy, a chase that leads to Kakariko Village in Time's era. Wild was able to save Snow while Twilight calmed down the berserk Lunagaron mother before she could cause any damage. Full on found family with mother wolf and Fierce Dadity. Oh alongside a shit ton of language barriers cause Snow can barely understand any non-monster speech.

Sweet and Spiral

The Perfect Finale Ch10

The words transformed into images that danced across the pages, as the tale was told by both Balan and Lance

In the realm of Wonderworld, before Balan and Lance. A different pair of maestros was given a chance.

On the page, it revealed a long line of maestros, before it stopped on a pair of them with one being male, and the other being female.

From these two, Peace through the land Rang. For this was the Era of Yin and Yang.

The page then showed the female being identified as Yang, while the male one was Yin.

However, in Yin, something festered, And it began to grow. And through his actions, it started to show.

The picture then showed Yin beginning to become more demanding, even going so far as to harm the Costumes, Tims, and Negati, making them all cower in fear.

He felt that since he was a Maestro, his power wasn't small, That he should be the one to rule them all.

The pictures showed Yin continuing to harm everyone in Wonderworld, his eyes getting more and more red.

Yang begged him to stop, but her pleas went ignored. So she had to defeat Yin, so balance would be restored.

The image then showed Yang trying to stop Yin from harming a human, and another image detailing them in battle

The two fought fiercely, but for Yang, she met her end with woe, for it was Yin who delivered the final blow.

The image then showed Yang trying in vain to push back a large energy beam that Yin had shot at her.

Yang's tired body became one with the grassy floor. The Positive Maestro, was now no more.

The image then showed Yang's body growing the rainbow flowers that surrounded the Ultima Tim.

With no one to stop him, Yin's power grew. No one in Wonderworld could stop him, what could that do?

The image then showed Yin growing in size and gaining more magic, turning the sky a deep shade of blood red, with every creature in Wonderworld cowering at his madness

Yin's madness however, didn't stop there, for he began luring human to his lair.

Everyone's hearts lept to their throats. Yin went after humans too?!

Trapping them in this nightmare, he gained more power, it was Wonderworld's darkest hour.

Everyone cringed as they saw how Yin's power grew with each human that had been kidnapped, until eventually, almost all of Wonderworld looked to be destroyed

As a last desperate act, everyone in Wonderworld gave a crying plea. For a miracle to happen and stop Yin's wave of misery.

The book showed almost every living thing in Wonderworld, from costume, to Negaboss get on their knees and yell to the sky for help

At last, The world itself lends a hand, and gives a miracle to this now twisted land.

A bright glow latched itself onto Yin's body, as 2 bolts of lightning struck him in his eyes

A pair of seals from the world itself, and Wonderworld Magic, tainted Yin's eyes, for his fate most tragic.

The pages showed both of Yin's eyes, and the kids gasped. Those were the symbols they had saw, when Kaylo was kidnapped!

For his power was stripped and was removed from Wonderworld, not that anyone did mourn. And a New Maestro had been born.

A brilliant light filled the next two pages, as it showed an all new maestro becoming solid, as Yin was magically dragged out against his will

A curse on Yin, for if he wished for his power to return a New Yang he would need to Earn.

The page showed how Yin slamming on the theater doors before the theater itself vanished into thin air

Powerless and Homeless, and unknown where he is now, Yin made this his only solemn vow.

The book pages showed Yin, the symbols in his eyes glowing angrily

He would return to Wonderworld, with a new Yang tied to his soul. Then both Wonderworld and Reality, would bow at his control...

The humans gave a Gulp at the end of the chapter. So Kaylo's kidnapper was Yin, The Banished Maestro...but what did he want with her?

I'm kinda curious, in your BaliGHTS AU what is the relationship between Wonderworld and the Night Dimension?

That's a great question, and one I have yet to fully settle on!

How I see it; the Night Dimension and Wonderworld are aware of each other, but don't necessarily know what goes on in either space. Wizeman knows of Maestros (and sees them as a powerful threat), and Balan knows enough about Nightmaren to be wary of them -or at least, the tales of them essentially being a kind of sleep paralysis demon. Their respective dimensions don't intersect however, so theres less likely a chance that individuals will accidentally find their way into the opposing universe. It can happen, but it takes powerful magic to do so.

Both dimensions share a connective universe however, which is where humans exist!

In the end, both the Night Dimension and Wonderworld become far more open to each other, and actively work together to break down those boundaries between their dimensions -especially after the fall of Wizeman. Balan begins to offer a lot of therapy avenues to Nightmaren who need it. And boy howdy, do some need it.

In this adventure based on the favorite children's tale, the eccentric trouble-making Maestro Balan arrives at the home of bored young Emma Cole and her friend, Leo Craig, while their babysitter Pauline is out. The family's Waddle Dee objects to the Maestro’s presence, but that doesn't stop the hat-wearing performer from trying to have fun, no matter how much destruction is left in his wake.

The Detective (Also known as Erin Foreger)

Erin will be one of the main protagonists in my au! She is a shy, but optimistic 12-year-old when life took a turn when her mother suddenly died from an illness. Her father still grieving for the love of his life and having so many problems (drinking and financial problems), decides for her to live with her aunt for a while. Erin goes into a depressive state as her living situation is getting too stressful for her, and she wishes she could forget any of this ever happened and live her normal life. That is when she entered the Balan Theater and met Vincent. People usually met Balan when their hearts are unbalanced, but it was unusual for a girl to meet Vincent in the eyes of the theater. Vincent didn't know what to do at first when he met her, this was actually his first time guiding someone around Wonderworld. As they acquainted one another, he tasks (or mainly tests her) her to retrieve the memories (the drops) back to him, just like Emma and Balan in the novel. She and him not only saved others, but she saved herself as well.

Fast forward eleven years later, when my au takes place; Balan is outside the real world looking desperate on what to do now that the negati has spread all over the real world and the Theater is now in shambles. The people in the real world don't see it, but since Balan is the maestro of Wonderworld, he does. He finally meets Erin, who can sense the aura that her heart is unbalanced once again. Her occupation is now being a Paranormal Investigator (did you notice how Detective was her codename..?), but her hobby is also that she's a fashion designer as well. Doing all those two things at once, one occupying most of her time, another that she absolutely loves doing, plus the responsibilities as an adult has made her go into a complete burnout, not wanting to do anything. Erin was also the one who stitched up back his suit and helped design his scrapped costumes (if this might ring a bell).

Both she and Balan have to do the same thing all over again just like she and Vincent did back in Wonderworld, retrieving memories of the troubled people from the mental and shambled worlds, and also restoring their hearts again and doing a musical number at the end lol. Not only Erin and Balan are saving the real world, their also saving themselves as well

And that's I have for her as of now! I do wanna tell more, but I'm afraid I might spoil it all. 🫢

i know i’m terribly late with this, but i finally finished Balan Wonderworld on 100% (with all figures) and just wanted to draw another art to say thank you to this game. i loved every second of it.

i came to this fandom before playing the game, because i was highly invested in concept of theatre, and oh my lord we have SO few games with such topic, like i try to search for more games with theatre and i found nothing. i know this isn’t very popular theme, but i’m grateful we still have something of it.

i came to fandom because i love fairy tales, i love musicals and dramas with happy endings, but i was highly disappointed to discover that this game has a bad gameplay. i read all critics’ reviews and couldn’t understand, why creators didn’t do this game well? until one day i decided to stop listening to others and try to play this game myself, because i loved the story and characters, i wanted to see if the game really that bad and not enjoyable.

...and as i said, i loved every second of it and i do not regret i played it.

sure, gameplay isn’t evolutionary, but it never suppoused to be that way. it was ment to look like an old, simple and weird in a good way game. yes, i do understand why people think gameplay is boring, but i think the settings, the music, the characters and morals are making this game good. i agree that it could be better if creators would make this a movie, but i do understand why they made this a game. because they wanted you to travel through this adventure, to be a part of a journey, to feel the magic and positivity this game is trying to give. it’s a game that isn’t about gameplay, it’s about everything else. sadly, people disliked it because they were sad the game wasted it’s potential, but you know why this game has fans? because they’re glad this game has potential. and instead of throwing tomatoes they decided to help this game to shine brighter, just like this game helped them.

that’s why i want to address not to people who hate this game, but to people who love it.

when i came to this fandom i didn’t expect it to be so warm and comfortable like an armchair near fireplace <3 i was sure there won’t be any content for this game because of it’s reputation, but when i searched for it i was SHOCKED to see SO much beautiful artworks, fictions, theories and headcanons! i was so happy to know that there ARE people who says “i don’t care what you think, we love this game!”. this is why i stayed, this is why i started to create content too, and you guys greeted me with open arms and it was SO nice of you! i haven’t met such pure, healthy and lovable fandom in my whole life. so that’s why i started to think that maybe Balan failed for this exact reason... to gather us all together.

yes, we may be a small fandom, there are not many of us, but i can tell we are stronger than lots of big fandoms, because we’re stand for each other and support each other every day, every hour, every second! like was said in this game - life is and adventure and we are making every minute worth it!

and that’s why i believe that we can make this fandom bigger, and it’ll grow into a big warm fuzzy (like a tim) community <3

please don’t stop filling this game with your talent and creativity. this is what this game truly deserves. and if someone think otherwise - i hope one day they’ll see why do we love this game so much.

euuu i think not a lot of people here knows about my balan wonderworld era, i was really into it when the game and novel came out (especially the novel. I still reread it sometimes :))

It's my only OC x Canon, her name is Liselotte Lecompte euuuhhruuuuhm yeah 👍 the reason why she's in the wonderworld is because she's scared of adulthood and responsibilities that her parents are pressuring on her + fitting to the expectations. So her stage is a castle and she thinks she's a princess from a fairy tale. But she really feels lonely and waits for her prince to come save her

Hello. I'm kinda new to this blog.

If you don't mind me asking, why do they call you "Memory thief"?

I know that the answer is technically in the name, but is there a reason you got it in the first place?

Ooc: I think I’m gonna answer this since it’s much easier if I just write it out (there’s a lot so buckle up!!) :

The reason why Vincent has the codename “Memory Thief”, just like how Balan has been given the code “The Grinning Man”, is because it was thought out as an old tale in wonderworld that when you stay in wonderworld for a long time, The Memory Thief or Vincent in that case would steal your memories incognito when in reality it’s actually the opposite!

When Lance was the former maestro in the novel, people were forgetting who they once were, their traumas, and the reason why they were here in the first place. Lance thought it would be best if he took away those memories to reduce the inhabitants from their hurting.

Vincent thought that was wrong, he wanted to do something about it. He, along with Erin, worked together to bring back the memories (the drops that you’ve seen from the asks) scattered around the inhabitants stages in wonderworld and to help them remember once who they were.

Balan was weary of the Memory Thief, whenever he and fighter were trying to save back wonderworld, Memory Thief and Detective were always getting in the way, something of a nuisance or a threat, or just stealing drops for the fun of it. But after a while, after the two finally caught them. They tell them that they are innocent and only doing something for a good deed.

I hope this explains it well!

The Perfect Finale Ch12

Meanwhile, Back at the Balan Theater...

After the humans had been read the tale of the Yin the Banished Maestro, they knew that whatever he wanted presumably had something to do with Mirabella, as Kaylo was a direct descendant of her. However, WHAT that something was, was a mystery. "Balan. Is there some kind of Wonderworld Artifact that he's after? Or some way to break the seals?" Mei asked.

"I'm not too sure Mei. Wonderworld Seals just don't go away. Only the world itself can remove them, that power isn't in our hands. But something tells me that is what he plans." Balan said. "Well, we can't just wait here waiting for something to happen...we gotta find him before he does something horrible to Kaylo." Leo said.

"That might not be wise, at least not yet Leo. For you are going up against a former maestro." Lance said, tension in his voice. "I agree with Lance. Given that you're human, you may not have a chance." Balan said. "But we can't just sit here and do nothing!" Emma shouts. "I understand that Emma dear, but it's just that Yin is tricky I fear, he prays on the weak, and knows what makes them humble. I worry that if he finds you, all chances of succeeding will tumble." Balan says.

"Hmm...Can't you two go against him? You ARE maestros as well." Rebecca states. "Our power may be great inside the theater walls, but outside of it, both of our strength falls." Lance informs. "Well. Maybe you guys won't have to use your power." Trisha Jane said. "What do you mean?" Leo questioned, raising an eyebrow. "Call up the others and I'll explain the plan." She said.

The group didn't quite understand what Trisha Jane was planning, but they knew that usually, her plans did work. Emma and Rebecca stepped outside to call up the other humans, while Mei and Leo went to get the Negabosses from deeper in Wonderworld. A few moments later, The human inhabitants had made their way to the theater, while the Negabosses appeared, with Leo and Mei on Purrla's shoulder.

"Alright. You got us over here. What's the crisis?" Eis asked. "Kaylo's been kidnapped by an evil maestro that was banned from Wonderworld." Leo said bluntly, and caused Thea to start sobbing again. "Trisha Jane says that she has a plan, but it involves all of us." He said. The Negabosses blanched at the mention of the Banished Maestro as Hooverton began to slowly vanish in fear.

"D-Did you say the Banished Maestro?!" Purrla quivered. "You know about him?" Cass asked. "Of course I do! Everyone in Wonderworld knows the tale of the Maestro that nearly plunged all of Wonderworld into darkness, the Maestro that actively hunted down humans and trapped them in Wonderworld!" Fortie said from inside a shivering Fortsepher.

"Like what Lance did?" Cal asked "No! It was worse than what Lance did! He treated anyone that wasn't a Maestro like a nuisance! He turned all living costumes and Negati into slaves! And those who didn't obey him were destroyed!" Inkabelle wailed. The inhabitants began to look scared. This wasn't good. "Yes. But I have a plan that might work. But it's going to take all of us to make it work." Trisha Jane said.

The group gathered in close to hear what she had to say, hoping that this plan would work.
