Alright, I'll just throw it out there. Sadly, there will be no kinktober from me.

Explanation under the cut, warnings for mental health issues, honestly me being a mess

I have been trying so hard to write, but recently I've been really down and life has been not so friendly to say the least. I have been staring at the planning of things to write but I've just been so demotivated looking at that empty google doc makes me feel ill. I'm not going to stop writing, I'm not leaving or taking a break from Tumblr(I think), the time cramp I'm on, as I did start late, is just really stressful. (And in case it's not obvious enough I don't do well under stress.)

I have tried to come up with alternatives like as headcannons in such scenarios but every time I even try to get started on anything it's just a lot of anxiety growing onto me about posting anything because I feel like it won't be good enough. I'd hate for this all to sound like self-pity but I don't know other words to explain it in. I feel shitty as fuck for saying I'd give yall a kinktober, so to anyone disappointed, I'm very sorry

I mean, you should see me crying even as I'm writing this I just don't know whats going on lol.

this is not what yall signed up 4 when u made the mistake of following my blog, but i wanna talk bout some ideas i had about a new toy line so imma ramble into the internet void.

I like to keep up with toy lines that come out and in that vein i also like to trash talk blindboxes when theyre done wrong and praise them when done right. In an ideal world you could buy just one blind box and have fun with what you get, and minimal waste. theres also the want to be happy with what u get even if it wasent the ONE you wanted, I usually see this done best with quality in the product and every character being well designed. i once saw a doll line that had poofy scented hair and you could see what color hair u get through the packaging, which makes a ton of sense to me cus to a child the hair color on a hair centric doll is the most important thing.

all of this was context to talk about a new toy line ive been following where u unwind a ball of different yarns to find a cute plush animal and all the stuff u need to make a buncha crafts. now i can talk about what i think would be cool in the next series of this toy line,

1 i think it would be rad if the box it came in looked like a lil house and the window u see the yarn ball through looked like the window of the house.

2 I think the outer most yarn on the ball should indicate something about the pet, a lot of blindboxes will split their characters into themes like "fairy tale" or "desserts" and i think having a yarn color scheme for each theme would help in making sure that u get something u like. another idea in this vein would be having the box house from idea one have something on it to indicate what kinda animal u r getting like a horse box would look like a stable or a dog house has a dog bone outside.

3 they should switch up some of the crafts, rn we got pom poms, frienship bracelets, a pet collar and a bed. their social media also shows different methods to do each craft which is cool. I think some crafts they could have in the future are things like fingerknitting (maybe starting with a pet scarf and working up to sewing the scarves together into a blanket for your pet), sewing together a lil bag so u can take ur pet on adventures, if they dont make the box a cute reusable house they could make a cut out loom or a box weaving project where you cut slits n the box an weave the yarn to make it look like a basket. i also like the idea of making pet clothes and stuff too. maybe they could include a lil knitting spool in the center instead of the pom pom maker. another tool that could go in the middle is a friendship bracelet circle loom thingy and in the mold of these things they could make it look like a dinner table or somethin. it seems like theyre aiming the base craft at a younger audience and using the online videos to show more complex ways of doing it, which is good but kids are smarter than a lot of people give em credit for, they can do a lot more kinds of crafts. last note on this, the fluffy most "yarn" on the outside works great for pet bed stuffing but if theres no pet bed project you could change that outermost yarn to a bulky fuffy kind for finger knitting.

4 they outghta think through the yarn colors more, more different colors in each ball so each of ur diys look different, but also having the colors make sense for the pet (which is why splitting the pets into themed groups would be a good idea(another thought is to have one of each animal per theme)) and any charms they include could be better matched to the pet

5 how are there not any traditional yarn pets (sheep alpaca rabbit ect) ?! i know all the yarn is acrylic but it would be so cute. on the instructions there should be a "fluff your pet out" step on the instructions (just write it cuter like "give your new pal a few pats to smooth them out" or something) its not vital but i think it would add something nice.

6 the lil charms for friendship bracelet (if they redid that craft) would be cooler if they were a bit more pet accessory esq, like it could be a charm but it also is a comb (blunt and wide tooth to keep the yarn hair nice) or a pet toy charm like a little mouse or a

7 the youtube should expand to more accessible crafts 4 kids, i remember being a youngin and wanting to do crafts from a book but lacking all the supplies, with this u r only missing sisscors and you can take the knowledge from these crafts and use whatever yarn u want for them and re do most of them missing clips or charms. They could show how to knit with pencils or maybe even show some papercrafts like a simple origami drawer to hold your pets belongings.

final thoughts (if you made it this low i commend your fortitude though my poor grammar) I like this toy line and can see how it could be a toy that a child gets and treasures for many years, i also like the different ways to do each craft. I hope that this toy line dosent end up one of the more "collect them all!" types cuz while that might work well for the instagram moms with youtube channels where they get paid to review toys it dosent work as well for the kid whose been saving up their pocket money and wants to get something that they will have a ton of fun with.

You smell him, before you see him. The moment he opens the door, an unfamiliar waft of tobacco hits your nose, and for a split second, you panic that it might not be your husband at all, until you hear the familiar curse under his breath as he drops his keys, and you smile.

“Honey? I’m home.” Flip calls from the foyer in the way that he does every day when he arrives at a decent hour, but even still, right away you can sense something’s off.

And you’re right, because as you round the corner to greet your lumberjack, he looks more surly than usual. He’s got a scowl set deep into his forehead, his lips tugged down into a firm frown. With a soft smile, you extend a hand for him and he takes it happily, lets himself be tugged into the kitchen where something hot and fresh is waiting for him.

“Rough day?” You ask even though you know the answer is yes, “You look like you’re going to kill something.”

“I fuckin’ feel like I want to.” Flip groans a little, sees his son sitting happily in his high chair playing with cheerios on the little tray in front of him, and gets over himself. “Just a lot of bullshit, one stupid fuckin’ thing after another.”

Picking the baby up, the boy’s bright eyes crinkle at the corners when he bursts into happy giggles, the kind that Flip’s never sure whether or not the baby is making fun of him, or just glad to see him. You always tease that it’s both, but either way, he smooches the boy right on his dimples in greeting, and sets him back down on his chair.

“Want to tell me about it?” You watch the interaction fondly from the fridge where you hand him a beer, one that he takes gratefully.

Flip wasn’t much of a talker around other people, he was observant more than anything, preferred to sit and watch from the sidelines, absorbing information like a sponge. It’s what made him such a great detective – he was stoic, and composed, and more or less a fly on the wall.

Except for when he’s just around you, in which case you’d be hard pressed to get him to shut up.

“Well first of fuckin’ all, someone parked in my goddamn spot. I’ve had the same parking spot for seven years at this fuckin’ station and someone decided to park there. New kid, Jones? Rookie didn’t know any better so I let it go. But then, the guy used my mug – you know the one I keep in the rec room? So now the kid’s officially on my shit list.”

Flip rambles on and on, listing off the things that he can remember in the moment.

“I had a meeting with Trapp where he basically told me and Ron we’ve got to push harder with the case because the FBI is going to get involved which is always such a fucking pain in the ass and we need to finish our work before they take over and have jurisdiction. And on top of all of that, I’m out of fuckin’ cigarettes at the office.”

“Oh shit, why didn’t you call me I would’ve brought you some.” Eyes widening, you feel for him. You knew Flip has been a smoker since he was thirteen and had no plans to start quitting anytime soon, and you also knew how big of a bitch he could be when he has to go without them.

Flip scrubs a hand over his face and shrugs, “I didn’t want to bother you, I bummed a couple off of Jimmy but he smokes Marlboro and you know how much I fuckin’ hate Marlboro.”

“I did think you smelled off.” You tease then, wanting to try and get him in a lighter mood. “I got worried for a sec, thought you might be sneakin’ off to another woman.”

“As if you’re not too much to handle as it is!” Flip scoffs, before rounding the kitchen table and pulling you into a tight hug, attacking your throat with bites that have you squirming out of his grip with a grin.

“Bullshit, you like that I’m high maintenance.” You wink at him, dancing just out of his reach, making him hunt after you, long legs making that job easier.

“Yeah I do.” He catches you, eyes flicking down to your lips.

You get the hint, and loop your arms over his strong shoulders, hands carding through the hair at the nape of his neck, twisting and twirling it between your fingers as he calms down, asking, “Kiss me a little?”

Flip hopes that his son is still working on those cheerios as he tips your chin up and captures your mouth with his. Almost at once you can feel the tension slip out of his body, he sighs out a long held breath of relief, finally back in your arms. It really was the best place for him to be, for everyone’s sake.

As your tongues slide against one another, eyes closed, lashes brushing against your cheek as your noses bump together, somewhere in the back of your mind you feel bad for Flip’s coworkers – you can only imagine the state he had been in all day.

“Next time call me, I’ll bring you smokes.” You pat at his chest when the kiss ends, and Flip nods appreciatively.

“God what the fuck would I do without you?” Flip asks dreamily, pinching at your ass as you step away from him.

Flip follows you, because Flip doesn’t really do much else when he’s home other than follow you around and bug you all day long.

“Die probably.” You throw over your shoulder as you check to make sure the baby is okay.

“Yeah, probably.” He agrees with a knowing nod, which makes you laugh, which in turn makes the baby laughs, and Flip can’t help but think how fuckin’ glad he is to be home.

Ok, today’s free writing prompt Unfortunately, things never go according to plan around here.by @the-wip-project​ was a lot of fun and brought me to something I didn’t consider at all, but here we are.  Also taggin @ashen-crest​ @adie-dee​ @vivian-is-writing​ @cometworks​ @viskafrer​ because this belongs to Sojan and ..... well, we have the sons of him, Lyran and Niat. It bet you can guess who is whose son lol. Like father like son, or how do they say?

The plan had been simple. Be prepared, know how the guards move, and have a different way out than you went in, in case of emergency. Unfortunately, things never go according to plan here. Tinyath suppressed the urge to pinch the root of his nose. Of course, things never go according to plan here, especially not with his brother around. If anything went according to plan, his dimwitted brother wouldn't have been captured when they were supposed to be finishing off Putrivines. An assignment designed entirely for aspiring hunters. Something they had accompanied their parents on since they were fourteen years old. Just to kill a few aggressive birds before they could attack the travelers, and that was it, but no Mivisiel had to storm off just like father, because he heard someone calling for help, and it happened. He knew mother would kill him if he came home without the moron. The bandits' camp had not been far away. Tinyath had spent a day watching the changing of the guards and where they kept the prisoners. Of course, the moment he was about to strike, the one thing he should have expected happened. Mivisiel had started an escape attempt, completely destroying Tinyath's plan. As soon as he had freed his incredibly stupid brother and the others, Tinyath would drag him back to the guildhouse by his ears. Or perhaps he'd prefer to go home straight away. Taking advantage of the chaos in the camp, he ducked and scurried closer to where the prisoners were. Briefly, he wondered if he shouldn't ask Mithelia if he could join the Free, right now he felt more like one and less like a hunter. He successfully made it to the other prisoners and quietly freed them while Mivisiel played cat and mouse with the bandits. If it weren't for survival, Tinyath would have found it amusing to see a dozen bandits chasing after a scrawny young man of just eighteen. As soon as the others were safe, Tinyath let out the familiar whistle and Mivisiel disappeared behind a bush. The bandits didn't know what hit them when Tinyath knocked out the first two.  After three more were taken out, the others understood what was going on and took off. Grinning, Mivisiel beamed at him. "That was easy, wasn't it?" "Easy? Easy it would have been if we'd just taken out the Putrivines." "You're starting to sound like Father." Tinyath groaned and grabbed his brother by the shirt collar, pulling him behind him here. "You get to explain that to Mother, and to our fathers." "Why? Nothing happened, did it? You were faster than you thought." Slowly, Tinyath inhaled, mentally reminding himself that it would not be good if he brought Mivisiel home tied up. But the temptation was there, and it was damn strong.

FROM YOUR CREATIONS, CHOOSE GIFS + DO A SPLIT OF BEFORE AND AFTER YOU COLOURED THEM Thank you so much for taggin us @chaenie it means a lot <3 🥺 So of course this blog is run by two individuals, so I will like to state this post is made by member Cassie, but though it is made by me we have similiar editing style. On the right side of the gifs you can see the original, and on the left you can see the colored version. For most part, I use a base psd which is made up of some levels, curves, channelmixer and selective color. In some cases this psd tends to be enough, but as in cases like the vlives I have giffed here you can see they are extremely pale in the original, so it’s needed to put some color back in the skin. Which I do by adding two layers of selective colors, one for the redness of the skin and one for the yellowness of the skin.  For most part my philosophy when it comes to coloring is to stay true to the videos original coloring, but enhance it a little bit. I like muted colorings, so except for the reds and yellows I tend to turn down the vibrance on every other color, but that’s just my preferance. I generally just want my gifs to look like the video, but more alive - if that makes sense?  I’m only two years into coloring and making gifs, so it’s still a learning curve, but I love to have fun with, and my coloring has already changed a lot compared to what it was when I first began. I for example have not yet mastered the art of giffing performances, like I generally don’t know how all the amazing creators on this app do it, I always throw mine in the trash, lol  We don’t really know that many people on here yet, as we haven’t gotten a lot of mutuals yet, and it seems most people have already been tagged to do it or have done it already, so we don’t have anyone to tag, but if you want to do it and is a content creator feel free to say we tagged you in your post, we love to see all of these tag games post going around, always so much fun to see how everyone does their giffing.

—RED VELVET, part ii of ii

pairing: higgs x reader

warning: mention of death (+) plus i’m still not clear on the whole lore of death stranding so im just...filling it up with headcanons at this point LOL.

part one: xx

 you see a dark sea and a gray sky surrounding you. not even the bed is beneath you, but a chair and you are sitting on it. sea-salt and death permeate through your senses, flooding your lungs with their smell.

higgs.

he’s laughing, a ghostly shape in the distance. in front of him are four figures, each tied to a chair—the mules. the same mules who took your cargo and left you injured.

try as you might, you couldn’t call out to him, nor can you move your body from the chair. 

every last word is stuck in your throat. and you watch as an oozing pile of tentacles rises from beneath the sea. higgs is talking, but you couldn’t make sense of what he’s saying. then, you watch as he forms a finger gun, pointing it at each of the captives. the monster begins to wrap its tentacles around each mule just as he pretends to shoot. it absorbs the struggling mules into its body with ease. 

you want to scream. 

but no words come out. 

you open your eyes to the ceiling of your room. 

it’s still dark outside and in the vague distance you see shapes walking back and forth. you lean forward, expecting to see a mass of tentacles waiting just beyond. but then there’s a crack in the air behind you just as the lights flicker on and you turn to see higgs, the flesh of his face stark against the dark material of his clothing. 

you exhale a shaky breath and place your bare feet onto the tiled floor 

“did you-did you do it?” your voice was small and hesitant, mind unsure whether or not it wants to hear his answer. you slowly stand, the air growing thick and heavy, as it does whenever higgs is here. 

higgs lowers himself into a mock bow, eyes never leaving yours, with a pleased smile crawling onto his features. “just as you wanted.” 

you place your hand on your face, feeling a sting of pain pricking against your flesh. you can still smell the sea, hear that thing, and—and remember what higgs did. 

that wasn’t a dream. 

“but why? you didn’t have to do that, you could’ve just-you could’ve just beaten them up a little! an eye for an eye!” you feel your body burning, hidden emotions pent up ever since higgs found you and brought you back. with deliberate steps, you walk towards him, hands tightening into fists. “why did you kill them?” 

before you can let more words spill out, higgs reaches out from what little space there is between you and covers your mouth with his hand. he shushes you, eyes searching your own. you don’t like that, you don’t want him to see your weakness through your gaze. he then slips his hand behind your head, cradling it against his hold. 

his demeanor changes and his mouth flicker into a frown. “eye for an eye of course, but this was different—they hurt you, so i had to hurt them back just a little more.” 

for the first time, you feel more anger than guilt. it’s so easy, him just standing there, without a mask or even his hood on. he doesn’t even have the red tank attached to his chest. nothing but what he’s wearing and a kohl-lined face that’s paler than death. 

a small part of you desperately wants to just punch him. but then, as if it was never there, the feeling dissolves. instead, your tears fall for the second time. you’re still hopeless and weak, a nobody in this barren wasteland where the predators are both monsters and humans. 

why are you so pitiful?

“aw don’t cry sweetie, here let me make it better.” higgs cups your cheeks, squeezing them so hard that pain old and new beats underneath your skin. he  pushes your head towards him until you are leaning against his chest, in a fake gesture of comfort that feels more humiliating than anything else. “there’s no need to feel bad, darling, it’s game over for them.” 

you manage to lift your head, attempting to step back, but higgs is quicker as he takes hold of your upper arms. he’s staring down at you, chasing your gaze, holding it until you bring your hands up and cover your face. 

if you can bend reality, if only you are half as gifted as him, then you wouldn’t have to depend on him. you would have a quiet, unassuming life and you would be happy. and yet, you know your contradictions; you know that that’s not what you want anymore. 

you hear higgs hum, hands sliding against your arm until you feel them curl around your wrist. “hey, where’s the [name] that i know?” his voice is soft, like talking to a hurt child. 

he’s tugging your hand back or at least trying to. when you do lower your hands, partially peaking out to look at him, you see a pleased smile spread on his face. 

“there you are, honey. i was so worried that i made you feel even worse than before.” 

finally, you drop your hands to your side, shoulders sagging as the feeling of humiliation settles in. biting your tongue, you push yourself away and turn your back to him.

“in any case, what’s done is done,” you said, crossing your arms against your chest. you let the silence ensue, knowing higgs will chime in when he wants to. but when he doesn’t, you add, “thank you anyway, higgs.” you turn to look over your shoulder, only to feel him pressing against your back. 

“it was my pleasure,” was his response as he skims the tip of his fingers against your naked arm. goosebumps form as higgs drags his fingers down and up, causing the urge to shiver to run down your spine. 

and all it takes is to be by his side.

“what will happen once you achieve everything?” the words slip out before you can hold them back, “wouldn’t there be nothing?” 

you hear him laugh quietly behind you, fingers now carefully holding your arms, keeping your body close to him. “i’m immortal honey, a god, so technically i’ll survive.” 

“then you’ll be alone,” you said, turning around until the back of your legs touches the bed. 

“you’ll follow me,” was higgs’ immediate response, as if it was the most obvious answer. “and then, ya know, we’ll have the best time of our lives.” he finished his sentence with a wink. 

you press your mouth into a thin line, mind going blank. you tell yourself you want to convince him to spare this world. but now, looking at all the death and nothingness already surrounding you, you’re not sure you want to. 

“okay.” 

higgs suddenly reaches out and embraces you, pressing you as close as possible to his chest. you let out a squeak, toes curling as your body is lifted off the ground. 

“this is why i like you out of everyone else, you’re just so easy to get along with!” he’s laughing, in the way that makes your heart hammer and your cheeks heat with warmth. but still, you don’t dare to touch him more than you should. 

it’s that feeling still swirling against the warmth. a dawning realization that you just now figured out. 

you don’t even notice the way you’re clinging onto him, or how higgs doesn’t do anything except smile. 

“darling, are you in love with me?” 

oh.

notes: this was such a hard fic for me to complete. i literally wrote two versions of the same plot before this one ;o; initially i had higgs call reader ‘babygirl’ in the last line but i scrapped that so it would be gender-neutral.

Three ships: 1) A non canon one: Hannah/Hardy - I usually roll my eyes at the excessive use of Piper-Tennant ships but this one makes so much sense, and the stories are so beautiful I just cant, plus I never saw Hardy/Miller for me they are brotp and nothing more. 

2) Joo Joong-won / Tae Gong-shil -  because they belong together and I will never not cry when he visits her in the hospital. 

3) Belldom - the one that brought me to fandom (I don’t really ship them, I never did, but it was a fandom joke for so long that I think I need to mention it) even they joke about it...

Last movie: for all the things I’ve made hubby do, i owed him this one: We watched the shittiest movie right now on netflix (Project Power) because Casey Neistat appears 5 seconds on it and hubby wanted to watch it ....

Currently reading (book): Shogun by James Clavell - has it ever happen to anyone that you read a book you love and then you just stop. You only read a couple of pages, because you just dont want to finish it? I’ve read two books in between, I just don’t want to let this one go. 

Currently reading(fanfic): I am not reading anything atm, but the last was a Pride & Prejudice fic, its my happy place, the one place where everything is well. 

Currently watching: Betty in New York, yes its kinda shit, but quite funny 

- i gotta insert the last podcast i listened to cause it was wow, everyone has to listen to it, is “The missing Crypto Queen” I love true crime podcasts, I’m fascinated by mlm scams and financial crimes in general, and this is all wrapped together, is dramatic AF and it blew my mind.
