Something I would have loved to seen is TO Cross in the sons patch just broke my heart we never not to see that on sons even for a few minutes.
If they are truly indeed gonna pursue something else in the SOA/Mayans!verse, I would gobble up a Grim Bastards series so fast....
And yess, I see Michael Beach in a bunch of stuff, so I'm not necessarily sure he would've popped back up on Mayans with SAMCRO, but I still would've loved to see T.O. I hope he survived offscreen lol.

Discovering | Tim Bradford | The Rookie
Part One | Part Two | Part Three
Tumblr media
Tim could feel the blood pounding through his veins, the sound reverberated through him. Each pump seemed to get louder and louder. Each thud was felt in his chest. He looked down only to find his hands were shaking beyond his control. If he hadn't drawn his attention away from his heartbeat, he wouldn't have noticed the tremors, or the people rushing around him as he stayed frozen to his spot.
Harper and West were getting equipment. Nolan and Chen were to one side, discussing something that Tim couldn't hear. Grey and the Captain whose name Bradford hadn't bothered to learn were to the other side of the room, silently watching the rest of the station prepare to go into the unknown.
The files that had been given out in the briefing yesterday had instructed each team on what their assignment was. Harper would be going with Nolan to check out the safehouse that was assigned to (Y/N)’s operation to see if there was anything that could hint to her current location. Lopez was to head back to interrogation to attempt to get Williamson to give up any more information. Chen was staying behind with him to review everything from the beginning.
“Hey,” Chen said, bringing Tim’s mind back to him, “Grey is waiting for us in the conference room. Are you ready?”
“Yeah, lead the way.”
-----
“So, from the beginning, Detective Bradford started her undercover operation two years ago on the 5th of May. She last checked in with us on the 17th of May, and was declared legally M.I.A on the 23rd of May.” Sargent Grey said, sticking a post-it note to the left side of the board at the top of the room. He continued sticking post-its as he spoke. “The initial investigation turned up little but her gun was found in the assigned safehouse alongside a bottle of her medication.”
“According to Williamson, he saw her for the last time shortly after that. He turned on her a few days after they went M.I.A. But she didn't know, or she wanted to play it cool because she kept in contact via burner phone semi-regularly.” Chen said, looking down at the notes in front of her.
Tim’s head snapped to face his rookie “Was that when you spoke to him privately, or was this in interrogation?”
“When we were alone.”
“Text Lopez, get him to confess to it on record. If not, it's not solid enough to go from.”
“Tim’s right, Chen, but it's helpful nonetheless.” Grey sighed, “From then on it's pretty rocky. We have a few civilian sightings but nothing concrete. She stayed away from CCTV and any heavily policed areas. She knew to stay hidden. Which doesn’t help us, but we now know that it was intentional. WIlliamson said he spoke to her less than two weeks ago, she was near the Mexican border in Arizona.”
“Does the border patrol know to look out for her?”
“The Captain is alerting them now, as well as local police departments. The FBI has also been told of this development due to the crossing of state lines. They have agreed to give manpower as needed but let’s hope we can keep this in house.”
“So what now? We have barely anything to go from?” Chen tentatively said, trying not to provoke any reaction from her T.O with her words.
“We wait for Lopez to finish her interview with Williamson and then we will make a plan.”
-----
“He seemed to realise he was in a lot of trouble and asked for a lawyer pretty quickly.” Lopez said as she walked into the room, “I did, however, manage to get him to reveal the names of his employers in a trade for a letter from the Watch Commander stating his cooperation to whatever judge he gets assigned.”
Grey nodded his head before prompting Angela to continue.
“I had another Detective look up the names he gave. As expected they are tied to all sorts of crimes; drug distribution, embezzlement, fraud, unlawful use of a lethal weapon. And those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head. However, there is also good news, none of them seem to have a history with kidnapping or anything more extreme, or at least anything that has been reported.”
“And we want to keep it that way, so we will have to be extremely careful with what we do next.” Grey said, moving towards the door to go brief the Captain about their discovery and to start to make a plan of action
“Yeah, but there is one more thing he said before lawyering up.”
“What is it?”
“That we shouldn't waste the manpower on finding (Y/N). He said that she wasn’t the one they wanted to hurt but she was used to punish other people. Her vanishing was only a means to an end.”
Tim could hear his heart begin to pound in his ears once again. He breathed in, then out, then in again. If she wasn't their target, then who was? And if she was only a pawn in their game to hurt somebody else, then what else would they do to ensure their target would suffer. How many more lives had been ruined by these monsters, and how many more would suffer a similar fate to the ones that had gone before them?
“Who were they trying to hurt?” Tim ran his hands through his hair as the question unintentionally tumbled out from him. “Did he give a name?”
“Yeah, that's the thing…” Angela let the words trail off as she tried to compose herself. Tim watched as she took a deep breath. “Williamson claimed that the cartel they were hunting threatened (Y/N) into silence with photos of her loved ones to make you vulnerable.”
“I dont… I dont understand.”
“You were the one they wanted to punish, Tim. This is about you, it always has been.”

Note
heyy i was wondering of you could write abt angela lopez, we are also a detective at the station and it’s about all the times we almost got caught. if you know what i meann
i adore this
almost getting caught
1.
When you started out as a rookie at the LAPD, you were Tim’s boot.
You’d seen Angela from afar, and had definitely heard a lot about her through one of your close friends, Jackson. You developed a girl crush on her. Angela’s ways were amazing, and you aspired to be her.
The day had come when the rookies had switched up their T.O.’s for a few days, and you’d been assigned to Angela’s shop.
Her sarcastic wit and small smirks made your girl crush turn into a crush crush.
You were actually kind of sad when you found out she would be moving to detective work, because you wouldn’t see her as much anymore.
Eventually one time after your graduated to P2, you’d been paired with her for a day because you were following a case with her.
You made a bad choice on a call you responded to, and Angela had to pull you to the side.
She angrily told you, “Never let anything cloud your judgement, much less a crush.”
She’d thought you had a crush. And not on her.
She was jealous.
“You’re right,” You shrugged. “I do have a crush.”
Curiosity got the best of her. She didn’t mean to sound so rude when trying to get to the bottom of it, but she did.
“Who?” Angela crossed her arms. “Is it Tim?”
“What—“
That was the first time you almost got caught.
You hadn’t even done anything, by any means, but there was something there. You told her, “You know, you’re pretty stupid for a detective. You’re the one I have a crush on. You’re clouding my judgement, Angela. I like you. Not Tim.”
She laughed, “No you don’t,” but eventually gave in to you when your face remained serious.
She had grabbed your hand and asked you out to dinner that night when Nyla had found you to ask if you were okay.
The two of you split apart super fast, and tried to get Nyla out of there as quickly as possible, but that didn’t seem to happen. She pulled you away, and you had to look behind you and mouth yes to confirm your date for that night.
2.
Not too long after that you’d taken the Detectives exam, and had gotten in the top three—no surprise there.
You’d gotten a spot on the LAPD’s Detective team in no time, and were Angela’s partner. At work and out of work.
The two of you had put a label on it by now, and had gone on several dates.
Tonight she took you to a nicer restaurant to celebrate your big news.
She said she was going to pay, but you definitely helped with at least paying for your dessert, because that was some money just on its own. But regardless, you helped whether she knew or not.
You were enjoying your dessert and your night with you girlfriend— who looked beautiful in her dress— when the two of you spotted John and Bailey.
Now under any other circumstance, this would’ve been fine. But how were the two of you supposed to explain why you were dressed so fancy at a nice restaurant that looked like a date?
The quick answer: you weren’t.
You turn your head opposite of the couple, when Angela says, “What’s wrong, baby?”
“Don’t look now, but John and Bailey are three tables away. To your right,” You give her a look. “Unless we want everyone to know we’re together by sunrise tomorrow, we better escape somehow.”
“Can’t we just have one nice date?” Angela sighs angrily.
“No,” You lift the napkin you had on your legs up, and throw it on the table. “But we already paid, so it wasn’t totally ruined, now was it?”
“I suppose not,” Angela smirks. “But I really was enjoying the crème brûlée.”
“We can get some somewhere else, Ange,” You smile, standing to your feet and putting your hand out for her to take.
She does, and the two of you take off towards the bathroom, when at the same time Bailey heads in the direction the two of you were heading.
“Bailey is coming this way,” Angela says urgently, gripping your side with her delicate hand.
“Okay so what—“
Suddenly Angela’s back is against the wall between the men’s and women’s bathroom. Her arm wrapped around your neck, and your hands on her hips as her lips devour yours in a hungry kiss.
Her plan was a success, because Bailey walks right past the two of you.
3.
Another time the two of you had almost got caught was on your birthday.
You and Angela had been together at least three months by now, and she wanted to do something special tonight for your birthday.
She wasn’t sure what yet, which was why she’d approached you in the break room in the first place.
You were stirring the much needed half a pound of sugar into your coffee, when Angela had came up beside you.
“So, it’s your birthday,” She smiles sweetly at you.
“Hm,” You nod with a bored look, taking a sip of the steaming coffee. “You look amazing today with your hair down.”
“I know,” Angela squints, pressing her lips together sassily. “Now, what are we doing tonight?”
You’d told Angela before that you didn’t really like celebrating your birthday. She must’ve interpreted you wrong when you told her you don’t want to do absolutely anything.
“Nothing. I told you,” You place the cup on the table beside you. “I just want to go home,” You grab onto the collar of Angela’s blazer, pulling her closer to you, your lips ghosting hers. “And spend time with my beautiful girlfriend.”
Her lips just barely catch yours when the two of you pull away like the other had burnt them.
Lucy and Tim come strolling in, and Angela looks at you with a slightly disappointed expression, craving your lips now more than ever.
4.
When Lucy is declared missing, you are absolutely distraught.
She was your best friend out of the station, not including Angela, and you couldn’t loose her.
Angela could see you falling apart all over the station. Several different times in several different places. At one point she saw you bawling your eyes out in the middle of the conference room.
She wanted nothing more than to pull you onto her arms, lay a kiss atop your head, and whisper sweet nothings in Spanish to you.
But she couldn’t do that because then everyone would know. And she wasn’t sure if you wanted everyone to know— and she definitely wasn’t asking you when you were in such a state.
It hurts her heart to see you like this, so much her own eyes water at one point.
When Grey delivers the news that they had found where she may be located, you all but jumped for joy. But you were back to crying when Grey confined you to his office and demanded you stay back due to your closeness of the case.
Angela offered to stay back with you, and she closes the blinds of the office after entering.
“Y/n,” Angela’s heart breaks at the sight of you.
You are sat on the couch in Grey’s office, leaning over with the palms of your hands on your eyes.
“Come on,” Angela hears her voice waver from seeing you in so much pain. She puts her arm around you to reach your left shoulder, pulling you closer into her.
You lay down so your head is in her lap.
She runs her hands through your hair, trying to calm your shaking body, and she does eventually.
You sit up at some point and lay your head on her shoulder instead of her lap. She has her arm around you and her lips are resting on your head.
When Grey comes running in, Angela has to quickly separate herself from you.
It’s safe to say she makes a mental note to talk to you about going public with your relationship. All she wants is to ask you on dates during call— not caring who’s there, go out to a nice restaurant without the worry of being caught, kiss you in the break room, and cuddle with you at work when you need it most.

Evening all :) This is the second to last ep of s2. Unreal. I LOVE this episode. For so many reasons. I think its underrated which tends to be some of my fav moments and eps with them. Love this one for couple reasons. One of them being we’re re-tapping into why Tim is the best T.O. for Lucy. Little more look into Tim’s growing feelings for her. Also their continual growth as friends and their deepening bond. I love them so much. Like I said already this ep is underrated and one of my favs and you’ll see why. Let’s get started on this goodie.
2x19 The Q Word
Tumblr media
We start off with Lucy's alarm going off for her shift. She turns it off saying how she doesn’t want to work today. (Me either girl...) We see she has a special guest with her. Heh. It's Emmett. Dude still fine as hell. Guess she finally took him up on his offer. Damn girl proud of you cashing that card in haha Way to come back into the dating world.
He tells her to be few minutes late continues on to say ‘Bradford's chill’ LMFAO Not even a little and definitely not with training Lucy. You'll experience that soon enough and see how wrong you are sir. Lucy tells him she’s in the final stretch of her training. Just 30 more days and she’ll be free. (Like you really wanna be free of Tim…we'll let you believe that though.) She is excited to be free of the mind games, Tim tests and being chewed out in public. I can’t blame her there even though it molded her into who she is now as a cop.
Tumblr media
Emmett jumps on the chance about making her late after her probation. Lucy has to basically say down boy LOL It’s honestly really nice to see how happy she is. Like I said in the last ep with Tim. With not being Lucy level happy. In this case not Tim level happy or comfortable but nice to see none the less. She clearly has allowed herself to not let Caleb drag her down as much anymore. That's a massive victory for her. Should be noted and appreciated.
Can truly appreciate the relationships they had prior and what they had to give to them before they’re together. Lucy NEEDED someone like this post-Caleb. Needed a sweet goober. I am thankful for the role Emmett played in that. Helping her start to move past Caleb and the damage he inflicted. Her commitment issues showing themselves hard when she asks him to play it cool if they run into each other. To keep them on the DL. Also I don’t blame her she’s in the home stretch of this. Wants to do a final focused push to complete her training as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We get to roll call. Grey announces today is the rookies one year mark in the program. He tells them congratulations on not washing out. Tim can’t help himself and poke the bear. Saying ‘We’ll see’ that shit eating grin of his and heart eyes I can not. How proud he is of her projecting off him.
Excuse me sir you’re doing a work flirt right in front of everyone. Look at the way he’s looking at her when he says it. A blind person could read his intentions. Her reaction is perfection. Like she can’t believe he’s doing their banter unabashedly in front of roll call… for all to see LOL Our marriage scene of the episode please enjoy.
Grey says this is the start of their 30 day push. To remind them they’re not there just yet. That they shouldn’t be celebrating until they cross the finish line. Pretty much a foreshadowing for Lucy in this ep. All of them but mainly Lucy and the SL her and Tim have in this one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Immediately following roll call we join them in their shop. Lucy mentions it’s weird they haven’t had any calls yet. Tim puts on his T.O. hat and barks ‘Crime doesn’t have a schedule boot.’ Lucy just smiles his T.O. company line having no effect on her. Tim notices it right away and asks ‘What she’s so happy about?’ Lucy plays it off says nothing. Can’t she just smile? Tim doesn’t let it go. (Wonder who he learned that from?)
Tells her she’s been doing it a lot lately is all...Lucy bites back she didn’t know being happy was an impediment to being a good cop. Tim remarks he’s just surprised she hasn’t talked his ear off about whatever it is. Tim Bradford speak for he actually wants her to. Whether he likes it or not he’s come to enjoy her sharing things with him. When she doesn't he gets antsy like in this scene. Questions what's going on with her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim acts like he can’t stand how chatty she is. When really he can’t handle it when she isn’t sharing stuff with him. Doesn’t want to feel left out in her life. Especially since she "granted" him re-access to it in 2x17. (He always had it she just had to remind of that fact) Lucy doesn’t budge on any info. So Tim starts taking shots in the dark. Asking random questions. 'Did she rescue a kitten?' 'Adopt a star?' LMFAO Timothy what? Haha god I love this man.
Lucy tells him what early s1 Tim would’ve been thrilled to hear. That her personal life is none of his business. He smiles and says there’s hope for her yet. Ok Tim I’m sure that’s EXACTLY what you want. Smh. My god these two. Do they even realize how much flirting just went down in that interaction? The banter, the looks, the cute little smiles. Look at them in those last two gifs above. As transparent as glass. These idiots I love them so much.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you needed to see their chemistry in one glorious shot. This is it. What a beautiful shot of these two. How the sun shines mostly on her is lovely nod to them as characters. They're checking in with one another silently as they hear a ‘shots fired’ call come over the radio. Processing the severity of the call together. The lighting is beautiful, the looks glorious, that silent communication ever present. I adore it.
They can hear how amped up the rookie on the radio is. Tim attaches them to the pursuit. Harper and Nolan attach themselves as well. Jackson hears his friends panicked voice. Tells Angela they we’re in the academy together. He the follows suit of the other two. Such an intense drive to where Chris and his T.O. are in pursuit.
Sadly Chris disobeys his T.O. to stay in cover while backup arrives. This kid has something to prove and leaves cover. His T.O. shouting at him to stay back. Unfortunately he’s shot instantly in the chest multiple times by their assailant. The guy takes off leaving Harper/Nolan to chase him as they arrive on scene. Tim and Lucy show up after all the chaos has ensued. Tim pulls Martinez Chris’s T.O. to the side. Says he’s going to need to talk to him since he was a witness to the shooting. Jackson decides to ride with Chris easing Martinez to go talk with Tim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim then does what he does best. Deescalates the situation. This man is trying to justify himself to Tim. Tells him how he taught Chris better than that. That he’s made mistakes before but not like this. Tim is incredible in this moment. This scene shows us how good Tim is at his job. How important he knows training rookies is to T.O.’s Why Martinez is panicking like he is. Feels like he failed this kid and is spiraling.
Tim uses that common bond to get through to an emotionally heightened officer. He's coming off his rookie being shot. He's not seeing straight and blaming himself. So Tim calms him down using logic and listening to get the statement from him. The empathy and understanding that follow are a skill that was sharpened by a certain rookie of his. (So damn proud) He's trying to relay to him this wasn’t his fault. He doesn't need to defend himself to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love how he relates to Martinez in this moment. All the while he is looking at Lucy. His words carrying extra weight to them. Almost like he's telling himself this as well as his fellow T.O.. This is hitting closer to home for him than he'd like. His look says so very much to anyone who is watching closely. Eric crushing it per usual saying so much with so little. The depth of how much he cares for her at this point. The man was gone for her long before they got together. (He just hasn’t been clued in yet about that fact.)
The way his eyes dart over to her while he’s comforting Martinez. What happened to this man is Tim’s greatest fear on the job. Not preparing Lucy enough and she gets hurt as a result. If he could only realize how much he’s already impacted her. She would not have survived 2x11 if not for his training of her. 'The Cop Eyes' he instilled in her to drop that ring for him.
She had the grit and determination all her own to survive no doubt. That 'No quit' paired with his training is why she made it. If you wanted to see Tim’s PTSD in action it’s this next portion. That deep fear of losing her the way he almost did back in 2x11. This next entire scene is screaming that PTSD from that. This moment a stark reminder for him that he could lose her just as quickly on the job due to a mistake. That it would be his fault. Again.
Tumblr media
Some may think Tim is too harsh here. He’s being a dick etc. That’s not what I see here at all. I see a man in emotional panic. A spiral really. Talking to Martinez shook him more than he’s leading on. Watching his biggest fear happen to someone else is triggering his PTSD more than he'd like. We all know even with Lucy’s forgiving him how he’s still haunted by her almost death. Tim is still learning how channel his emotions. Lucy has opened a floodgate of having them and he hasn’t learned to control them just yet.
I can relate so very much. When you’ve repressed feelings for so long, then allow them to the surface they can be overwhelming. The anxiety of drowning in those emotions comes out in one of two ways. Anger or a complete shut down. For Tim anger is an old friend of his. He can’t seem to tamp down how this situation is making him feel.
Nor does he know how to deal with why it is. So he sees a small mistake she makes and lashes out. His current anxiety is manifesting into anger right now. His fear taking a life of it's own. Losing it on her over something he wouldn't necessarily been happy about but not to this current level of anger.
Tumblr media
He is panicking because after the final 30 days elapses he won’t be by her side to protect her anymore. Its a harsh reality he isn't handling too well right now. Rios being shot bringing that into sharp focus. That this could happen to her without him there to guide her. So naturally he’s going to be hard on her especially in this moment. His way of controlling it and his emotions. He just watched a rookie get fatally shot and carted off to hospital due to a small error in judgement.
All those emotions and all that panic are coming through in spades in this moment. Tim isn’t handling his emotions about potentially losing her well. It more than shows in this scene. If he was trying to hold his emotional cards close to his chest about Lucy in this scene he failed miserably. It comes out when he asks her if she wants to end up like Rios? Showing his hand so much in this scene emotionally.
Tumblr media
Now Emmett making the mistake of trying to intervene bites him in the ass badly. It’s bad for a couple reasons. The road to hell is paved with good intentions as they say. Reason one it was a terrible idea. Don’t get between Tim and his person. Emmett caught an emotionally exposed Tim and ran into an actual buzz saw doing this. Today was the WRONG day to interfere with him. Not gonna lie I do love Tim going all alpha on him. Saying she’s HIS boot. Destroying Emmett completely asking if 'He's got it? Before walking away.
Second reason it was not his best idea. Lucy. I adore her telling Emmett she didn’t need him to save her. Damn right you don’t. She is capable of defending herself especially with Tim. That's one of her super powers really. It was more embarrassing for Lucy he tried to step in to "protect" her. Not only that but mess with her work dynamic with Tim. She asked him to be cool at work and he wasn’t. Lucy makes sure he knows that before she takes off herself. She isn't a damsel in distress and lets him know. Leaving Emmett stunned.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nolan and Harper get a finger print ID off the ditched car they pursued. They’re gearing up to break into Serj Derain's. Tim knows Lucy is shaken up for multiple reasons. Her friend Chris being shot, Him chewing her out and her mini fight with Emmett. He is always thinking of her first even when he doesn’t even realize he’s doing so. It's second nature at this point. He does this by resetting her mentally before they walk in the door of this man's house.
Saying how they already lost one cop today. She’s not going to be another. He refuses to lose Lucy by her potentially losing focus in this moment. This man just knows her like the back of his hand. It always floors me. Knows innately she needs these words of focus. That her mind is elsewhere and he needs it shifted back to the task at hand. The continuous proof of why he was the perfect T.O. for her. Tim reading her emotional state and directing her emotions. This is his version of taking care of her. By telling Lucy exactly what she needs to hear before they start this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Her look of understanding after he dispenses his words of wisdom to her is perfection. Complete understanding of what he's saying and doing for her in this moment. ❤️ Everything this man does for her has her best interests at heart and ultimately to protect her. (Just like she does for him) It’s a beautiful thing to watch honestly. The two way support these two have for one another. This is an underrated moment for them. I wanted to expound on it. It shows that bond they have.
That even though they’re closer than they used to be with how she can sass him from time to time when it comes down to it that instant respect she has for Tim and his guidance. It is evident in this scene. His wisdom is guiding her right now emotionally and she knows it. That when he is serious like this she takes notice and listens immediately. She would follow him into hell if he asked her to.
They get inside with no issues. He isn’t home and the house is cleared. They’re searching his home office. Lucy asks Tim what they’re looking for? He tells her anything that can tell them where he is. It’s then Tim runs across some disturbing info. Confidential Police files on the Derian’s. Makes sense why nothing has stuck to them now. Someone’s been leaking info to the Armenian mob. A dirty cop in their midst…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We rejoin them in their shop. Lucy asks if they can talk about earlier? So much has happened today he’s not sure what she means. Lucy says about Emmett. Tim is immediately defensive. Tells her nothing to say about it. He tried to tell him how to do his job. On today of all days. Tim says he doesn’t care if he’s her BF. Lucy instantly cuts him off and corrects him. Says he’s not. (ahhh Lucy your commitment issues are showing again my dear) Tells Tim he’s a little dead to her right now anyway. I’m sure in the back of Tim’s mind that gives him a little peace.
Then comes one of the best parts of the episode for them. In not so many words this scene is Tim revealing something. Showing Lucy he cares about her in the most Tim way possible. He voices in a much kinder way his fears from earlier in the ep. That yes she’s only 30 days from the finish line. What scares him is when she crosses it he won’t be there to keep her from washing out anymore. 'Or worse...' The way she looks at him when he says this *heart clutch* Tim Bradford speak for I don’t want to lose you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He solidifies it by reinforcing yeah he’s going to be tough on her. That is a straight fact. Then rolls a compliment into it as well. (How far we’ve come. *wipes tear*) Tells Lucy he’s only doing that because he KNOWS she can handle it. No one one knows her better than he does. No one will ever look out for her best interests better than he will. Or will prepare her the way he can. He only has 30 days left with her. Tim is going to make her as sharp as possible. So he can let her go when the time comes. Only way he will have peace of mind is if he does it this way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy’s reactions says it all. Beaming a little as she explains how sweet it is. She knows how he struggles with his emotions. That he tends to show them through actions rather than words. The fact that he told her this means so much. Tim in a roundabout way, told her he cares so much for her he’s afraid losing her after they're no longer riding together. That he can't protect her anymore after that. So he’s going to do everything in his power to safeguard her from this jobs worst moments and possibilities like today.
She makes sure he knows how 'oddly sweet' she finds his words. Tim is trying to bite back a smile above. That sunshine of hers seeping in just a little bit more. Trying to be a grump and be like 'That's not what I meant' when that's exactly what he meant. Revealing more cracks in that emotional wall of his. God I love it so Much.
Lucy continues on and says he’s not the one she’s mad at right now. That’s she’s used to Tim. Then he does something S1 Tim would be appalled at. Gives her advice on her personal life. Doing it not to please her or get her to stop talking. But because he genuinely cares about her. Giving me all the feels in this one. My shipper heart may implode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tells her Emmett is a fireman. So naturally they’re idiots LOL He makes Lucy smile in a way only he can. Tim forges on saying they mean well and Emmett is a 'not bad fireman'. Tells her not to write him off just yet. That he meant well by it. Look at our boy. I’m legit beaming with pride as I write this. How far this man has come in 2 seasons hell just this season alone. Leaps and bounds all due to the the sunshine human to his right.
Lucy being herself can’t help but rib him about this. That the reason he’s giving her this advice is cause they’re friends. Honestly yeah. At this point they are. S1 finale was the start of the friends foundation but they weren't there yet. It was the beginning of that deeper bond of theirs and we’re nearing the end of s2. All that foundation has now been laid. The fruits of it are they are friends now.
Best part of this section Is he doesn’t even deny it really. He scoffs a little af first (denial isn’t just a river in Egypt Tim) but concedes at the end. The light in his eyes and the crooked smile. You know this man is happy to be considered her friend. Her confidant. Once again Eric saying so god damn much with so little. I’ll never be over how good he is with that. Like ever. Could go on for miles and miles but I won’t do that to you all haha That wraps up their scenes together in this one. SO much good content thought. Oh my lord.

Sadly Chris passes away and Jackson is distraught. Lucy being there for Jackson is so sweet. Taking care of her business with Emmett but putting him first. I love their friendship. I do admire he came over to apologize and say he was wrong. Saying she’s the strongest woman he knows. That the last thing she needs is a protector. Well you as her protector yes. sorry Emmett lol That role is not meant to be yours. She has her fierce protector already. Tim is that but her emotional protector first and foremost. I mean he would smash a dude's face in for her LOL but she doesn't need that. That's it for this one. Such a good episode for them I can not.
~~~~
Side notes-Non Chenford
Longer than normal cause the entire episode is so good. The Chenford would’ve been enough but the ep being so good on top of it I’m happy.
Angela seeing Smitty’s cam footage LOL he’s such an idiot and we all love him haha sadly how she finds out Erin Cole is a dirty cop though. Or one of them…
The whole SL with Chris, Derians and Armstrong it’s so solid and stressful to watch baha his SL was shocking when I watched it the first time. Watching this squeaky clean cop fall from grace and become a dirty cop. Tragic af but compelling as hell.
Rewatching it through the eyes of knowing you can see how much he was giving away in his scenes. So sad the ending for Cole. Debt erasure is a huge motivator for most it’s truly so sad.
Watching John and Grace continue to fall apart sucks. I truly liked them more so than him and Bailey TBH. Their chemistry was evident.
Harper thanking John for all his help in getting her kid back. That she wouldn’t be here if not for him. The impact he had. Such growth for her. Since day one she has marched toward growth and where she is now. I adore her arc and how far she has come in this moment. Such an overall amazing episode. Hell of an ep before the finale.
Thank you all for the continued support through likes/comment and reblogs. Means more than I can ever say. Our next ep is the finale. Woo. I’ll see you all then :)
screaming, crying, kicking, screaming some more.
there's this fic i've always loved the concept of that i keep trying to finish but then keep hitting a wall on the third chapter and i just found in my drafts that i started the last chapter???? i literally just need to figure out this third chapter so i can finish it bc it's kinda cute and funny and i'm so excited as to how it'll tie back together??? :-'))))
like look ...
“Lucy, Luce. Baby what’s wrong?” he asks as he kneels by her side, her attention focused on the photo between her hands as she looks up at him after a few seconds in complete disbelief, shifting it so it’s angled toward his direction. Tim’s brows furrow as he scans the faces, observing one then another before his eyes grow wide, completely baffled at what the moment frozen in time is. There’s no way, there is absolutely no way, and yet, there they are. They’re all younger, a little over a decade younger, and shockingly enough Tim recognizes every single person in that photo, including the blonde that left a very sour taste in his mouth though he doesn’t place her just quite yet. He’s far too focused on himself, Lucy, and Captain Andersen. Lucy’s seems to still be processing as well as the two sit in utter silence for a few minutes, too stunned to be able to come up with words. Once was a coincidence but twice? Not only did they cross paths twice before they actually met, they had the photographs to prove it. “It was my rookie year,” he finally breaks the silent spell, “My T.O. had to take some personal time and there were no others available that I could ride with so I was stuck on front desk duty for a week. I thought I was going to lose my mind. The captain had been invited to a college fair at a local high school and figured I could be more useful recruiting than working the front desk."  There's a grin that curls on her lips, the memory coming back to her as if it was yesterday and she can't help but giggle knowing she's about to hear his side of the story.
Chenford ❤️ 5.13 fix it. Where everyone finds out?!
I've gotten a few requests to do this one! In my opinion, I think everyone, except maybe Nolan, already knows, or at least has their suspicions, and Tim switching jobs just confirms it for them. So here is my take on how that would go once everyone finds out about his new role!
"Why are you here?"
Angela's voice came from behind his right shoulder, where Tim could see her hovering over him in the reflection of his computer screen.
"This is my desk," he said plainly, spreading his hands over the space, as if it wasn't the most obvious answer in the world.
"Yes, I can see that, but what I want to know is why is this your desk?" Angela pressed, stepping forward to lean against it, Nyla moving in to perch herself on the left corner; the two women effectively boxing him in.
Leaning back in his chair, Tim sighed, his crossed arms mirroring Angela's. He knew this line of questioning would be coming sooner rather than later, but he and Lucy had agreed to keep their relationship under wraps for a little bit longer, so he was going to have to do some major deflecting to keep it that way.
"Tell me if I'm wrong, Nyla," Angela said, glancing over at her partner. "But this just isn't adding up. Tim Bradford, all the sudden taking a comfy desk job over patrol for no obvious reason?"
Nyla shook her head, her sharp gaze turning on Tim. "It's mighty suspicious if you ask me."
Looking between the two women, Tim shook his head, refusing to rise to their bait. "The pay is better," he finally said, shrugging.
"By maybe fifty dollars, annually," Nyla shot back doubtfully. "Nice try."
After a few more moments of silence, Angela shifted, leaning towards him as her hands came down to brace herself against the edge of his desk.
"Tell us, Timothy, this wouldn't have anything to do with a certain dark haired, recently single, female officer who you haven't been able to stop smiling at as of late, does it?"
Tim gave Angela his best T.O. no nonsense glare, noting the amusement dancing in her eyes as she conspiratorially leaned her head towards Nyla.
"Did you know they practiced kissing before they went undercover?" she asked, a shit eating grin on her face.
"No they did not," Nyla laughed.
"Angela!"
"What?" she asked innocently, batting her lashes at him.
"I told you that in confidence," Tim hissed, feeling like a cornered animal ready to be eaten. "I thought we were friends."
"Friends don't lie to friends, Tim."
Tim glared at her. "I haven't lied."
"No, but you haven't told me the truth, either." Tossing her hair over her shoulder, she winked at him. "Don't worry though, your bright red face is doing all the talking for you."
With one final laugh, Nyla left, leaving Tim to fume at Angela.
Tim watched as her grin slowly turned into a soft smile, her gaze losing some of its edge. "Jokes aside, I'm really happy for you; I haven't seen you this happy in well, ever," she said. Pushing off his desk, she stepped forward, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I just hope taking this boring ass job isn't going to mess that up for you."
All Tim could do was shake his head in defeat. "They don't call us the dream team for nothing," Angela teased, patting his shoulder one more time before she walked off.
"No one calls you that," Tim grumbled under his breath.
As Angela's footsteps faded, he heard Aaron's sing-sing voice call from behind him, "I told you!"
Whipping around in his chair, he watched as Nyla and Angela both slapped a five dollar bill into the young officers hand, Aaron grinning like a Cheshire cat. He purposely looked anywhere but in Tim's direction, completely ignoring the senior officer glowering at him from the corner of the room.
"Told them what?" Nolan's voice rang out, he and Celina walking towards the group. Tim wondered briefly if he still had time to throw himself out a window- Lucy was going to kill him.
"That Sargent Sunshine over there and Lucy are dating," Aaron stated matter-of-factly, loud enough for the entire precinct to hear. Tim groaned, leaning both his elbows on the table as he buried his head in his hands, wishing he were anywhere else but here.
"What, really?" Nolan exclaimed.
"Oh definitely, their aura's have totally changed in the last few weeks, it's actually been really sweet to watch. They've been so in sync," Celina gushed. Tim was pretty sure he just threw up in his mouth.
"How's his aura looking now?" Nyla snickered.
"I hate you all!" Tim called, refusing to lift his head and turn around.
"Officer Nolan," Sargent Grey chided, his voice coming from the doorway of his office. "You seem surprised. Are you telling me you haven't noticed anything in the last month that made you wonder, even a little?"
"Well, I uh...no, Sir. Should I have?" Nolan asked, sounding very unsure.
"Yes," Celina, Aaron, Nyla, and Sargent Grey said, all at the same time.
"They've been incredibly obvious," Angela added.
"All right, all right, everyone back to work," Sargent Grey commanded, the humor still evident in his tone. "Let's give Sargent Bradford some room to breath, shall we?"
Thankfully, the gossip group finally disbanded, leaving Tim to wonder how Lucy was going to take the news that they apparently hadn't been as sneaky as they thought.
"Oh, and Officer Nolan," he heard Grey call, "I've got my eye on you. Don't give me a reason to make you my pet project again."
"Uh oh," Lucy's voice said from his left, Tim spinning around to find her standing there by his side, staring after Nolan. "That doesn’t sound good. What'd I miss?"
Shadows (2/?) T.O. x OC
TW: blood, violence
LEAH Leah’s eyes fluttered open as she started to gain consciousness again, quickly adapting to the bright light in the room. Her throat felt like it was on fire while her head kept spinning, the back of her head swollen. She felt a throbbing numbness as she tried to slowly move in a sitting position, her vision starting to blur. She squinted a few times before fully sitting, taking notice of her surroundings.
She was in what seemed to be an office, a clean one. She quickly realized that she was sitting on a sofa, probably the most comfortable thing she had slept on in the past weeks. Still she felt as tired as always, like she hadn’t closed eye in a decade.
She also realized another thing: she wasn’t alone.
“Goodmorning.” The man sitting in front of her greeted, his eyes never once leaving his journal, “Did you sleep well?” “No.” Leah dryly answered, her gaze hard as the memories from their last encounters started to begin clear again, “Probably because you hit me on the back of my head with a gun knocking me out, but who knows.”
The young man let out a dark chuckle, “Yeah I figured it.” “I brought coffee.” He adds, nodding towards the coffee pot sitting on the table next to them.
Leah’s eyes switched warily between him and the drink unsure whether to trust him or not. For all she knew it could be poisoned, and frankly she didn’t feel like almost dying in such a short spawn of time. Now that she thought about it she actually had no idea how much she leapt, it could have been days just like it could have been just a couple of minutes.
“If I wanted you dead I would’ve killed you while you were sleeping.” He voiced her thoughts out loud with a smirk before taking a sip from the cup, making her raise her brows, almost as she expected him to drop dead, wishing him to drop dead.
“For how long was I out?” She asked, her voice still full of suspicion as she took the coffee.
“I’d say about five hours more or less.” He answered, “I’m Troy by the way.”
Leah stayed quiet, her eyes fixed on him, ready to attack at the first sign of danger.
“Why am I here?” She questioned, her eyes wandering around the room, “Are you going to try to kill me again?”
Troy shook his head, grinning, “It depends on your answer.” He explained, making her stomach drop.
“At what quest-” Leah started to ask. “Were you bitten?” He interrupted.
“No.” She firmly replied, her voice hard again.
“Mhm” The man hummed before starting to write in his journal again.
“Why am I here?” Leah asked again, sitting up to get a better look at what he was writing.
“I’ll tell you if you tell me your name.” Troy replied, his eyes not raising from his journal.
A pregnant pause followed before Leah started to speak again, “I’m Leah, Leah Hernandez.” “Hernandez? You aren’t american?” He urged, making the woman roll her eyes.
“I’m not, got any other questions?” She questioned.
“Yes actually.” Troy said, “Where were you going before we rescued you?”
“Rescued?” The woman echoed with a scoff, “You kidnapped me.”
“We saved you.” He insisted, “Where were you going? Didn’t you know that you were crossing the border?”
“There are no borders anymore, the land is property of the dead now.” Leah replied, making him raise his brows in surprise, “And I did not make it this far just to get killed by a prick in a damn office.” She snapped.
Troy watched her with an unreadable expression, not even bothering to reply to her. He was too focused on noticing the way she talked, the way she looked around, like she wasn’t even angry and was just acting a role that was too small for her. What a unique person, he thought before opening his journal and writing again, and for the first time in a long time Leah felt like she was the prey, not the predator. He made her anxious, like a lab rat who was being studied, observed at every move she made. She hated it, she hated being watched, she hated the feeling of his eyes on her, making her feel small and vulnerable.
“Are you alone?” Troy asks, this time looking at her.
“Yes.” The woman answered after a few seconds, trying to gain back her previous confidence, “I got separated from my group weeks ago.” The man just nodded before shooting a look at her clothes. They were coated in blood, dead’s blood. “Why are you covered in blood?”
Leah let out a dark chuckle, “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
“Yes please.” He eagerly replied, his eyes darting between her eyes, the rotten meat on her clothes and the blood that was now staining his sofa.
“Okay, write this down then.” She nodded towards his journal, “The guts belong to the infected, to cover the smell.” She explained, waiting for Troy to nod in understanding before continuing, “If you notice, when the dead come back their eyes become white and most of their brain shuts off. Which means that they only respond to some stimulus: lights, loud sounds, movements and smell. That’s why they don’t eat each other.” Leah stated.
“So if you act like them and smell like them they don’t eat you?” The man asked.
“You can walk with them, use them as camouflage.” She confirmed, a sinister hint in her voice as she fueled the boy’s sick interest.
Troy’s eyes lit up in fascination, “That’s amazing.” He exclaimed, still scribbling things on his journal. But now his eyes were fixed on the woman in front of him, his curiosity growing, “How do you know all these things? What did you do before?”
“I was in the medical field.” Leah said, “I used to study at the university and work as a part time nurse, that’s how I found out about the virus.” She explained, “So, given my career and my interest, I started observing the dead, collecting facts about them.”
“You are a doctor?” Troy asked, his mind now clear about what to do with her now.
“I can be a doctor if that’s what I need to do in order to survive.” She replied.
The man nodded, his curiosity finally satisfied, before closing his diary and getting up, “You are coming to the ranch with us.” He stated.
“Why would I do that?” She questioned, her brows raised with suspicion.
“It’s a safe place with running water, food and houses, it’s more than enough reasons. Plus you’ll have an important position since we are short on doctors.” Troy calmly explained.
“I want my own house and new clothes.” She replied, “And I’ll leave if I don’t like it there.”
“Sure.” He granted.
“And another thing”, she said as she nodded towards the rifle in his hands, “I want one of those too.”
TROY
“So, what’s the verdict?” Jake asked as Troy exited the office.
“She’s a doctor, she said that she will come to the ranch with us on a few conditions.” The younger man replied as he shoved his journal in his pocket.
His brother nodded, then shot a look at the door before speaking again, this time in a lower tone, “What about uh… What about the blood? Is she injured or…?” He didn’t dare to say the word, a fear Troy couldn’t share.
“She’s not bitten, it’s the infected’s blood.” He explained, their previous conversation still echoing inside his head. Most people would have found the topic disgusting, triggering even, especially given the horrors at this point everyone had to endure in order to survive. But there was something in that girl's eyes, a light that matched his as they discussed the dead. He definitely had to ask her more questions the next time he saw her, he thought as his brother shot him a questioning look, “She claims that if you cover yourself in their blood and act like them they can’t tell the difference.” He explained, watching Jake’s expression go from confused to horrified.
“Why would someone want to walk with the dead?” He asked in disbelief, “And why do you seem happy about this new discovery?”
Troy must have missed the fact that he still had the same glimmer in his eyes, “You’re right, it’s a new discovery, a useful one. She’s been outside, she could give us more useful information about how things are going outside the ranch.”
“I don’t know, are you sure she’s not dangerous?” He replied as he shook his head.
Troy froze for a second. He didn’t know whether she was dangerous or not, for all he knew she could be a murderer waiting to kill them all. But it was a liability he was willing to take in order to know more. He really desperately needed to know more. “Are you questioning my decision?” He snapped, “I was the one who interrogated her, I’m the one who interrogated all of them, I know what I’m talking about.”
“Okay okay, it’s your decision.” The older brother raised his hands in defeat, “I’m just trying to warn you.”
Troy just nodded before changing the subject, “When are we leaving?” He asked.
“Forty minutes, you should help us load the trucks.” Jake replied before walking towards the exit of the building, “What are you waiting for?” He questioned as he turned around to look at his brother who was still standing in the exact same spot as before.
“She’ll do it, I’m not here to load trucks.” Troy said before opening the office’s door.
“Wake up, time to work.” He said as he entered the room, immediately finding her still sitting on the sofa like she was before. She was sitting straight with her elbows resting on her knees, her shoulder tensing up as he entered the room. Maybe she wasn’t as bright as he thought for a moment she might have been, maybe she was just a nutcase.
“What do I have to do?” Leah asked, her eyes not raising from her bloody hands.
He sighed, “For now you’ll help my men loading the trucks with supplies for the ranch.”
“Your men?” She echoed as she finally turned around to look at him, her brows furrowed in confusion, “You’re a soldier?”
Troy’s chest raised with pride as he straightened his shoulders, “I’m the leader of the militia of the ranch.” He said, “It’s a very important position.” He then explained with condescendence, almost as he was talking with a dog rather than with a person.
“Are there many people in your militia?” She asked as she got up, ignoring the fact he was treating her like a dumbass.
“We are 10 men and still counting.” He replies with the same pride. Finally someone who understands how important his job was, he thought.
“So that’s what you do here? Collect supplies and kill people?” The woman accused him, making him freeze as his eyes met her cold ones.
“Uh… We look for survivors and if they aren’t hostile or bitten we bring them to the ranch.” He explains, “My men will explain the rest, but first I think it’s better if you clean yourself up a bit, you wouldn't make a good first impression otherwise.” He said as he suddenly became conscious about how she was still covered in now dry guts, “I’ll get you a cloth, wait here.” He added before he exited the office again.
LEAH As soon as Troy disappeared behind the door Leah returned to search the office for more clues. They probably didn’t use this office, or this outpost in general, very much given by the fact that it was rather empty, just a few papers here and there. The woman almost let out a laugh as she opened a drawer and found a gun inside. How stupid do you have to be to leave a weapon unsupervised? One thing was clear for sure, these people were very well armed if they could afford to leave guns around like it was nothing.
But her amusement was quick to die as she realized it was empty. She still shoved it in her backpack, in case she found any bullets on the way.
The thought of having to leave with the militia made her more anxious than she would like to admit, but she knew that getting back to the road malnourished and exhausted was a suicide plan. She’ll just have to wait until she gets better and then she’ll leave.
Footsteps could be heard from the other side of the door, but she couldn’t be bothered to care. These people were dumb, weak. They took people in and killed the ones who were bitten. Like they weren’t going to die anyway after a couple of days maximum.
Like they weren’t all going to die.
She cautiously made sure everything she had in the backpack was still there. An empty bottle of water, a ratty blanket, the gun she stole and the old photo sitting at the end of the bag. Everything was there.
Leah then took out the bottle and made her way to the small bathroom, almost freezing as soon as she entered it. A big mirror stood in front of her, her reflection staring back at her as she raised a hand to cautionally touch her face, now unrecognizable. Her hair was greasy and damp with both fresh and dried blood. Her skin was pale, her dark eyebags standing out in the mess her face had become, bruises all over her. The dirt mixed with blood gave her a sinister look, her body covered with small cuts and red from the sun. Her lips were dry and broken and she overall looked like shit, but what scared her the most were her eyes. They had no light in them anymore. Her gaze was cold, her face totally different from the last time she had seen it weeks ago.
She snapped back from her thoughts and quickly filled her bottle with water, immediately drinking it after. It took her four refills to be completely satisfied before she splashed some water on her face, her arms and her hand, washing away most of the blood on her. The sinister look still didn’t go away, but it was an improvement.
TROY
Troy was intrigued, there was no denying. He had known almost everyone in the ranch even before the world fell, and the ones that arrived later were already living nearby. No one was allowed to step out the wrench except for the militia, who was only allowed to drive to the nearest outpost to the border to keep an eye on the people, both alive and dead, that were crossing it. Still no one exactly knew what was really happening, especially in the big cities, at least not now that all the communications were shut off.
It was crazy to him how in only a few weeks the world crumbled apart, and not being able to see how it happened was already driving him more insane than he already was. Maybe she knew, he thought, maybe she could tell him.
Troy licked his lips as he walked towards the trucks, his men already loading them with stuff. They were stupid, Troy knew it from the moment they volunteered to join his missions. Most of them were loyal, useful even, but they weren’t made for this world, no matter if they had lived in the ranch all their lives, survival isn’t something you learn, it’s something you have in you. And these guys didn’t have a shred of survival instinct in them, no matter how hard Troy trained them, they just weren’t made for this world. Unlike him, they were afraid, they were cowards who hid behind a big fence and waited for their time, ignoring the reality outside the ranch.
Maybe Leah would become a nice addition to the ranch, maybe she could teach them a few things. She had to pull her weight though, or she would get exiled in no time, he knew that. His father won’t be happy, a non-american woman wasn’t exactly his favorite kind of person to have around, but maybe if he saw what Troy did he’d change his mind.
Troy was so deep in his thoughts that he didn’t notice his men stopped loading supplies until one of them, Willy, spoke up, “Who’s that?” He asked, his brows furrowing as they all eyed the girl now exiting the building.
“Leah, she’ll come to the ranch with us.” Troy shrugged. He didn’t need to explain to them why, they wouldn’t understand anyway.
“Why?” Willy shot back, making Troy shoot him a warning look. He didn’t like Willy, he was a loud-mouthed prick who enjoyed picking on people. A complete asshole and a younger, less scary and less powerful, version of his father in Troy’s eyes.
“Because I said so and you do what I say.” The man hissed as he turned around to walk towards the girl. They were there to follow his orders, and if he said that she was coming with them then she was coming with them, no discussion. “She’s a doctor so don’t screw this up.” He added before walking away from his stunned men.
LEAH & TROY
“What do I have to do?” Leah asked as she heard Troy’s footsteps approaching.
She already hated this thing, the having to work with other people type of bullshit. Especially when the people in question looked at her like she was some kind of weird alien. She couldn’t figure it out if it was because of the blood that was still smeared all over her or the fact that she wasn’t white, but either way she just wanted them to stop.
“Move the supplies on the truck, we leave in a few minutes.” Troy ordered, his eyes scanning her attentively, a habit he was well aware of.
People found him creepy, the way he noted everything in his journal or how he stared longer than it was socially acceptable, but he could see just confusion, in the girl’s gaze, under the mask of irritation. She was probably wondering if he was like his man, if he was an idiot. Troy knew he wasn’t, he knew he was better than all of his men. And he was determined to show her.
Leah just nodded before skipping past him, trying to appear as calm as she could as she got closer to the group of men, still staring at her. She couldn’t wait to arrive at this goddamn ranch, but more importantly she couldn’t wait to leave it. It didn’t matter where she went, at this point she was starting to believe that anywhere would be better than at a ranch filled with bigots like those guys.
“Are you sure you can lift that much weight?” A man called out from behind her as she took one of the boxes she had to move. Leah rolled her eyes before picking up the box, struggling a bit. The man was probably right, given her current exhaustion and the fact that she probably hadn’t eaten anything in the last 48 hours made it difficult for her to carry such a heavy weight, but she would rather break her back in two then prove him right.
“I’m Cooper by the way, I’d shake your hand but I think you need both of them right now.” The man said as he followed her. He was bald and had a thick beard, and more importantly he didn’t look like a complete asshole, so she decided to introduce herself.
“I’m Leah.” She replied, dropping the box with a thud, still eyeing him warily.
Cooper opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted by a scream coming from a trunk not too far from them, “Dead at 12 o’clock!”
The woman’s head snapped from the trunk to look at the group of infecteds marching towards them, their growls becoming louder and louder.
“Cooper, Mark, to the front row. Jake, Willy, Blake, go to the warehouse and close it.” Troy already started to bark orders as he got closer to his men. “And you” He said, turning his attention towards Leah, “You know how to shoot right?” He asked, holding a rifle in his hand.
The woman nodded before opening her backpack and pulling out her machete, “Noise attracts them, tell your men to use melee weapons if you don’t want to fight a whole horde.” She replied before sprinting to the nearest walker, stabbing his head. The body didn’t even have the time to hit the ground before she had already killed another one. And then another, and another, and another.
Troy admired her in disbelief as the body dropped dead one by one until his men stopped shooting and stared as she finished her mortal dance, almost following a choreography as she sliced everything that came near her blade. The desert was as quiet as ever once she had finished slaughtering the dead, wiping their blood off her face with her hand.
And at that moment Troy was sure that no matter what, she was coming to the ranch.
I Love You in Spite Of (a The Rookie 5x16 Spec fic)
Tim and Lucy's first Valentine's Day as a couple was supposed to be perfect. But the day takes a surprising turn when Tim discovers the truth behind the Metro position and what was meant to be a romantic day turns into their first argument since they started dating. Will they be able to work through their differences or will it be their last first holiday together?
AO3
Tim scanned the bullpen in search of Lucy. He found her sitting at a desk, typing a report, and made his way to her. "Officer, Chen," he said, addressing her formally, and sounding a lot less like Metro Sergeant Tim and more like Training Officer Bradford. "A word, please."
Lucy recognized his T.O. voice and frowned, her smile at seeing him quickly disappearing. She opened her mouth to answer, but Tim didn't wait for one. He just signaled to a nearby hall and started walking, expecting her to follow.
She caught up to him and grabbed his wrist, stopping his progress and turning him around with one swift pull. "Hey, what's going on?"
"Not here," Tim said tersely. "Somewhere private."
Lucy nodded and followed him to a small conference room; one they knew from experience had no cameras and was too far away from the bullpen to be overheard. In the enclosed space his anger was even more palpable, and Lucy felt her heart begin to race with worry.
As soon as they were alone, Tim pushed the door closed and turned to her. "I just found out what you did," he declared, standing stiffly with his arms crossed over his chest. "You got people to move positions so that I could get the Metro Sergeant spot. You went behind my back and did all of that without even talking to me about it."
Lucy's eyes widened and her face paled. "I did it because I know you hated that desk job. I wanted to help." She took a step closer to Tim, reaching with her hand, but he took a step back and her fingers only grazed his arm before they fell through open air.
"I appreciate it, but I can't just be handed things," Tim explained, voice tight, as he began pacing the room. "How will it look to the rest of the station? What if there was somebody else in line for that position? I can't just get things because my girlfriend wants to. I have to earn it."
"You earned that job! All I did was work some magic to get some people to move around so this position opened up. But I was careful," Lucy stated quietly.
"Yeah, and what if those people didn't want to move? What if they felt pressured or blindsided?" Tim looked down at Lucy, anger etched on his face.
Lucy huffed and rolled her eyes. "It's not like I sent them to work the drunk tank or got them partnered with Smitty. Hicks was going crazy trying to handle Metro plus triplets and a very tired wife at home. He's much better now! Same thing with the others," Lucy tried, frustration creeping into her voice, and for a moment she considered shouting at Tim that she had to clean Smitty's disgusting RV to get him the stupid job, but she didn't think that would cut it now. But she would make sure to tell him later.
Tim ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. "Chen, you're not getting my point. It wasn't up to you, or me for that matter, to get anyone a new job. What happens if it doesn't turn out as good as everyone expects? What happens when somebody realizes you weren't trying to help anyone but your boyfriend? Who, I might add, doesn't need the help. Or should I remind you I made it to Sergeant all on my own?"
"Tim, you were miserable at that job," Lucy muttered brokenly, completely at a loss, her eyes filling with tears. "You're not happy unless you're out on the streets, working cases. I know you. That job was going to kill you faster than any bullet could. And the city would have suffered too. Tim Bradford is too good a cop to sit behind a desk."
"You don't get it." Tim's voice rose and he stopped abruptly, taking a few calming breaths before he continued more evenly. "I took the desk job so we could be together, not because I wanted to be stuck behind a desk for the rest of my life. I knew it wouldn't be permanent, something else would have opened up eventually. I was okay with waiting until that happened, but I'm not okay with having my promotions handed to me."
"You say you would have been happy to wait, but what if what you thought would be a short month or two turned into years as Court Liaison?" At Tim's lack of response, Lucy shook her head sadly, a lone tear sliding down her face. "You would have resented me eventually," she answered for him.
"I could never resent you, Lucy," Tim said instantly, voice softening, and he gently wiped away the tear that had escaped her eye.
The gesture made Lucy smile, thinking they were past the worst part, until Tim continued, and her hopeful expression quickly faded.
"But this is my career, Chen. You can't go around making decisions for me behind my back, making arrangements without even talking to me about it. We were supposed to be honest with each other. I can't deal with more lies." Frustration began to build inside of him again and Tim took a couple steps back, sitting on a desk and resting his folded arms over his bent legs.
Lucy smiled sadly, seeing he was back to calling her Chen instead of Lucy. For a moment she considered backing down, apologizing and leaving him alone to calm himself down. But Lucy Chen had no quit in her so she took as many steps forward, coming to stand right in front of him. "Isn't that what you did, though? When you told Grey about us and took the desk job behind my back?"
"I only wanted to help," Tim said, defensively. "I thought that would be the best thing for us."
"That's the same thing I was doing! I thought I was helping you, I only wanted to make your life better," Lucy shot back, unwilling to back down. She rested her hand on his knee and winced when she felt his leg slightly tremble under her touch. She had never seen him this upset before, not with somebody he openly cared about.
"You just don't understand," Tim reiterated, his tone soft but there was a tightness in his jaw that gave away his frustration. "My decision affected no one but ourselves, what you did affected half the station! People we will need to rely on for cases, friends or friends of friends. We can never know the ripple effects this whole thing will have or how it might come back to bite us in the ass later."
Lucy nodded, not wanting to fight anymore, and now seeing his anger for what it really was: concern. Tim was worried her actions might hurt them, if not now, sometime in the future when they least expected it. She had been so focused on the here and now, on making sure he was happy, that she hadn't considered that possibility enough, even when Nyla had basically said the same thing. "Okay, you're right. I'm sorry. But how do we move past this?" She asked softly, desperate not to be the thing that broke them after they had overcome so much together.
"I don't know," Tim said honestly, voice tinged with sadness.
"Do you want to break up?" Lucy blurted out, scared to hear his answer but also needing to know.
Tim was about to respond when his phone rang, interrupting their conversation. He looked at the screen and sighed. "Bradford," he answered gruffly. "I'll be right there."
He hung up and looked at Lucy apologetically. "I got to go, I'm sorry. Hostage situation."
Lucy nodded and stepped away so he could get to the door. Tim slid his phone back into his pocket and left the room, leaving Lucy standing alone, tears pooling in her eyes.
Tim was back in front of Lucy not a minute later, but he said nothing and simply stood silently in the threshold of the room, looking at her. "We will talk more later," he said eventually, and walked to her, pressing a kiss to her cheek and using his thumb to wipe her tears away before they had a chance to fall. "Be safe."
"You too," Lucy whispered, grabbing his hand and squeezing once. She let him go but found herself following him into the hall. "Tim," she called to his back, a sad smile gracing her lips. "Are we going to be okay?"
"I'm sure we will," he answered, but he never turned back to look at her as he spoke, so Lucy couldn't see in his gaze if he believed his own words or not.
I love you, I'm sorry, Lucy mouthed to his retreating form as her unanswered question echoed in her mind, 'Do you want to break up?'
"Good morning Officer Chen. You are back for like two minutes and you came to complain?" Bradford jokes but when she doesn't react he gets serious. "Are you ok?" He asks worried and walks to where she had frozen in her steps.
In these two months Tim had been at her house every two days. Checking in on her, bringing her favorite junk food. Lucy swears that he's the only person in this world able to control her mother. When he wasn't there he was calling her at the end of his shift to tell her all about the crazy cases he had to deal with. She wasn't trying to read much into why this felt so natural and comfortable.
"I have to tell you something but you have to promise me that you won't over react." She says to her old T.O. and he nods. The worry in his eyes grows.
"The redhead? The one that got murder?" She asks and he nods. Arms crossing across his chest. A serious look on his face. She's ready to turn around and leave but the cop inside her just can't let this go. She takes a deep breath.
"I saw who did it... in my dream." She continues.
Had this crazy idea a while ago and I had to write it so here it is 🫣
Hi there! I'm Joss and I'm a multi-fandom OC writer! I write OCs for the MCU, DC(TV), Doctor Who, Criminal Minds, SVU, Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Sailor Moon, Nancy Drew & TVDU worlds! This is my only OC blog and I cross-post through this blog, my FF and AO3 account. Kinda trying to figure out wattpad so I won't even bother with that one yet.
Honestly, I would just love to get to know more people in the OC community, bounce ideas with others and simply have fun talking about each others' OCs as I think that's probably the most fun thing for writers.
Right now, I've really been into my TVD/T.O OC Maleny Rowan. I've like mass produced almost 30 chapters and I can't say it was all during my Covid quarantine. I've also been focusing on my Flash OC Natalie Eveleigh, almost finishing her first fic!
Never done this before so hopefully I got it right! Thanks Kass for doing this 🥰!
Full list of 257 judges to hear petitions
Tumblr media
A total of 257 judges will hear petitions arising from the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, according to a list by the National Judicial Council (NJC). Proceedings at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and State Election Petition Tribunals are expected to commence fully in May after the Worker’s Day holiday. Nigerians have shifted their attention to the tribunals as aggrieved candidates in the February 25 and March 18 contests attempt to overturn victories. Happy Tuesday everyone. One ep left before the S1 finale. Wild. Excited to wrap up S1 but what a ride its been so far. The last two have lots of Chenford Goodies so buckle up ha
1x19 The Checklist
I LOVE this episode so very much. It’s got a lot of underrated moments in it. But so much growth on both ends. Let’s get started.
Ep starts out with a bang. Or for them a stress really. The Rookies/T.O.'s find out last minute they have to have them do a checklist for certain crimes. Needing them to be primary on the paperwork in order to do so. Beyond unfair. Lucy looks panicked as all hell. Especially since she has 7 to cross off. Jackson has 3 and Nolan of course has none. They have only 2 days to accomplish this task. Ridiculous.
Tumblr media
Lucy needs auto theft, carjacking, ethical dilemma, meth possession, a false I.D., assault on a peace officer, and damage to city property. Tall order to say the least. Tim is raging in his seat. Can feel the waves of anger coming off of him. Completely BS to ask this of them so late in training. If they don’t accomplish this they fall behind in the program and are extended. Putting them all under the gun for the next 48 hours. Well except bloody Nolan haha
Tim tries to find an easy check mark for Lucy. A guy named Fred who always is carrying meth comes up clean. Lucy is instantly irritated this guy isn’t carrying. Fred tells him sorry LOL That he got clean has his 30 day chip. Tim makes a joke to Lucy about it. Saying never thought he would. It’s inspiring actually haha. Lucy is having none of it. She’s been pre panic spiral since the news hit. Look at her flexing fingers. Girl is stressed af. Understandably so.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tim goes into the mode he does best with Lucy. De escalating her. Gives her a dose of logic with a hint of funny. I still love the funny has been added in. Tells her that there are 18 million people in LA they used need them to break very specific laws for them LOL Tim is actually very funny in this episode. Trying to keep it light for her while also taking it seriously. It’s a great balance from him in this one. Poor Lucy is not about it right now. That is all over her face when their next call comes in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She could not be more agitated with this whole situation right now. You can tell she's so close to losing it. On the razors edge really. Tim once again makes it a little lighter and says hey maybe he’ll attack you? It cracks me up because you can see the hope in her face after he makes that joke. I love these two so much it’s insane. Tim trying to make each call positive and an opportunity for her.
She’s actually excited this call could turn ugly so she can get something checked off. Possibly get 'Assault on a Peace Officer' knocked out. Too funny. I just love how much he wants her to succeed. He is doing anything to keep her head in the game. Can't let her get into quit mode whatsoever. Lucy has a pep in her step after his comment and that’s all he’s wanting right now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They hit mid day and go get lunch. Tim and Angela talking about how stressed they are. Lucy hasn't gotten one box checked yet. Jackson has gotten one and he only has 3 total. Much easier than what Lucy has. A call comes in that could check something off for her. Unfortunately it can for Jackson too. So Angela jumps on the call as well. Tim is instantly livid. I love him saying she needs it more. That's right she does. They’re drowning and this is a life raft Lopez is trying take from them. He won’t stand for it. I love it sfm. You can see his stress here. Only time he lets it out when he's not around Lucy.
Tumblr media
They miss out on Lucy getting the call and it goes to Jackson. (Boooo). They've reached the latter half of their shift still nothing. They’re going through a neighborhood running plates. Tim's informant told him this would be a good spot for auto theft or car jacking. They've had high amount of reports lately. This begins my second fav moment of the entire episode. Something finally pops up and they pull a lady over for plates not matching her vehicle. Lucy gets excited as does Tim and he tells her to light them up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What goes from excitement about a box being ticked off quickly dissolves. Lucy can instantly see this lady didn't mean anything malicious by switching the plates. They just simply couldn't afford to register both. This goes from a simple stop to something much more. They both know it and its clearly written all over their faces down below.
Tumblr media
The silent communication in just this one gif my god. If you needed an example of that on full display look at this beautiful gif. Sweet lord. Lightning in a bottle chemistry these two. I have no words other than i'm in awe. Lucy goes from excited she got a box to this isn’t the right way to get it. That’s what’s being communicated in these looks right here. That ethical dilemma presented itself and it’s known between them with just a look. Lucy’s empathy is kicking into overdrive here and needs a minute to confer with Tim.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s very obvious Lucy doesn’t want to get her checkbox this way. I love her so very much for it. It’s killing her she has to pick between her empathy/what's right and what she needs to do not to be held back. This whole scene is a window into who Lucy is as a person. Who she longs to be as a cop. If her father could see this moment he wouldn’t chastise her so damn much. See how her empathy drives her decisions in the best way. Wouldn't look down on her being a cop as much as he does.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This part here is what impresses Tim the most and me too tbh. Despite all the pressure Lucy is under she refuses to let it change the kind of cop she wants to be. Won't sacrifice this woman for her one box to be checked off. Isn't willing to compromise her morals for it. Tim gives her advice in this scenario but ultimately lets Lucy be in the drivers seat for the outcome. Lucy decides to cut the lady loose and let her off with a warning instead of citing her.
What I love the absolute most about this scene is how Tim lets her run the show. He gives minor advice but she makes the call in the end. How far we’ve come since 1x14 where all Lucy did was second guess herself. This scene shows growth for the both of them. Tim in trusting her to make the right call. No sass, no hard ass just trust. Lucy for going with her gut without question even if it might cost her. Doing the right thing instead of just checking a box.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lucy is so caught up in the ethical dilemma itself she doesn’t realize it ticked a box. That her empathy could be used to do as such. Tim didn’t interfere at all for that reason. He knows one of her biggest strengths is her empathy. He didn’t sway her one way or another. Much different silence for this than his silence for the van incident back in 1x14. He too learned from that day. He knew she’d make the right call and she did (again just like Plain clothes day). Tim see's that empathy as an incredible asset for her and she just showcased it without realizing it. One down. It doesn’t seem like a win to Lucy right now, but in the long run it most definitely was. For far more than just crossing a box off her list.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Makes me so happy you can see the absolute pride on Tim’s face in both of these gifs. These are the moments that truly reinforce that belief he has in her. He's proud for a couple reasons. One. Lucy went with her gut under pressure and didn’t waver. Not even a little bit. She talked it out with Tim but was firm in what she wanted to do and why. Two. Tim is so proud of her for doing the right thing. Even if it meant falling behind in the program. She was willing to do that. So just like in 1x15 when Lucy was impressed with his moral compass, Tim is with hers in this moment.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next day rolls around and they’re still 6 in the hole unfortunately. Despite the morale victory of the night before, Lucy is very defeatist at this point. Feeling failure is nothing but imminent now. Tim refuses to let her feel this way. Won’t let her start the day like they’ve already lost. They’re getting across that finish line even if he has to drag them across it by the skin of their teeth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They get a call as they’re gearing up for one of Lucy’s boxes. Tim being confident as ever tells her they’re still in it. Right now she needs that cocky Tim Bradford swagger. The same confidence he had in 1x05 for the round up. He’s just as excited if not more than that moment to get this call for her. Lucy can feel the tide turning. She is feeding off of his energy now. The fuel she needed to start the day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s written all over her face in that last gif how much it means to her. That smile she can't contain. The 'No Quit' he has for her. She knows he has her back. Will go to the ends of the earth to get this done for her. If Tim has to carry her with that confidence the rest of their shift he’s going to. He won’t let her be defeated by this. He can’t.
Their destruction of city property call ends up racking up boxes for Lucy. Good karma from the night before I think. Tim is smiling every time they get a new one. As is Lucy. This girl has no idea how she’s making their day. Tim and Lucy are both beaming at their luck. They get all the way up to 4 boxes in that one call. 6 down one to go. All that's left is meth possession.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We get to end of shift and see Lucy is short a box. She is deflated and sad that she is going to be held back. Lucy starts to put her stuff away assuming its over. That's when Tim catches her. This is my favorite moment of the ep. Why you ask? It’s because he refuses to let her fall short. Tim is battling for her career. (And it wouldn’t be the first time.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While she was packing up the shop he was getting OT approved for them both. Amazing. Before Lucy his rookies could wash out and it didn’t mean much to him. Hell I think he thrived on when they did. To him he was weeding out the bad apples before they could hit the streets. If they couldn’t make it through his training/standards they had no place being a cop. Then comes Lucy Chen barreling into his life.
The woman who not only has thrived and grown off his challenges but challenged him back. Tim saw the instinct in her from day one. When she brought that “low hanging fruit” in and started her career off with a bang. He saw her with the potential to be the best rookie he ever trained. (spoiler alert she is) She proves him right on a daily basis. Tim wasn’t going to let some bureaucratic bs take her out. If it took OT to save her then damnit it all that’s what they were going to do.
Tumblr media
Look at the relief and joy on her face. Also a little shock mixed in as well. Just like in 1x14 Tim is fighting tooth and nail to keep her. Lucy needed this not only for her checkboxes but her self esteem. Her self worth. Showing she is worth it. Lucy is almost in disbelief he’s doing this for her. Like I said in my 1x18 review her and I have similar parents.
So when you find someone who believes in you, fights for you and builds you up it’s almost hard to accept. Because you're so used to being torn down. Even though as a viewer we can see Tim would do anything for her, Lucy still finds it hard to believe. He is saving her career here and not batting an eye to do so. I love it so much. I love them. Fantastic episode. Such good stuff. It's definitely one of the best of the season IMO.
~~~~~
Side notes-Non Chenford
Meh. Not much Chenford drove this episode like they do most. You can see Jackson starting to crumble a bit. He's letting go of who he thought he should be for his dad. Interesting arc for him. Makes him more human. That's about it for non chenford for me really ha
As always thank you thank you to all who like/comment/reblog these reviews. Highlight of my day when I see those notifications pop up on my phone. I shall see you all in the finale 1x20 :)

Yes! I agree S4 has had their best moments. They crossed that physical barrier. They hugged twice and had their dance plus THEY KISSED. the writers did move them from T.O and Rookie to friends. Next stage friends to lovers. If it was more rushed they'd ruin their story.
S4 checked off all the best tropes. I can’t wait for the friends to lovers. I don’t mind waiting until the end of the season. I’m patient-ish, as long as there are more moments/ interactions throughout the season. I don’t want them to rushed, it’ll cheapens the relationship/ build up, at least to me. 11 more days!
