#Actually#One thing I will say about this trial and then be done with it is that people should be careful not to catastrophize because of the#verdict. 'Oh so women can't do [x] without [y] now'#Incorrect lol. There is no 'now' because women have always been victims of an unjust system. Absolutely nothing has changed and#nothing was going to change because our system is structured so that victims period (regardless of gender) always come out on the bottom#Our justice system is not a tool of justice; our justice system is a tool of status and power goes to whomever can afford it.#Sorry I don't know who thought this was ever going to be fair but it wasn't#A high-profile case with two high-profile clients seeking equally high-profile goals from this verdict and you guys thought this was#gonna be a nice fair little playdate?#Couldn't be me#Hollywood and politics do not mesh well; the rich pay for the outcomes they want and if you didn't get the outcome you#wanted I guess that means you didn't pay enough.#But this whole idea that Amber's loss is a loss for the people is sooo... lol. like when were victims ever in a position to win within a#system that protects abusers?#You can't say 364 days a year that rich people experience the world differently than ordinary people do#and then claim that Amber's loss has some bearing on Normal People#It does not <3#Amber was in a far better position to win than you or I or Sally from down the street and she still didn't and if you think that's just#because she's a Woman I encourage you to develop some perspective that's not so narrowly focused. There's a bigger picture here than#women good men bad but the way you guys reduce major historical or social events to these segmented points instead of observing them#as part of a whole is so frustrating.#Misogyny is a fraction of a bigger problem here. If you're going to be mad about something be mad about all facets of the social structure#rather than just highlighting one and creating an entire false narrative around it.

If watching true crime has taught me anything; it’s that the criminal justice system very often does jack shit about obvious cases of child abuse, and only takes it seriously after the parents kill the child.

I'm for gun control but every time I talk about it with other people who are pro gun control I hear "yeah there should be mental health screenings before you can get a gun" a mentally ill person is going to murder you but it's going to be me and it's not going to be because I'm mentally ill <3

also, after watching my policeman, you realise how every single character was a victim of time and situation and how they made the choices that they ultimately did because despite everything, it was time that was the biggest driving factor and something that held them back. you don't end up resenting any character despite their integral flaws because you sort of understand the reasoning behind their choices. you understand how much the era that they were in was the main cause that drove these characters to their edges and pushed them apart. you understand that ultimately there's no one who's happy because they're all so broken and flawed and they've all deeply hurt each other because of it. you really understand that it truly is a story of lost time and lost love because time took away love from them and then love also took away time from them too.

He kept what in the fridge?
Pontiac — A district court judge Wednesday denied a pair of dueling $6,500 small claims petitions that centered around a transgender woman's attempt to get her surgically removed testicles back after they were kept for months in her ex-boyfriend's refrigerator.
During a contentious small claims hearing in Pontiac's 50th District Court, Judge Jeremy Bowie ruled "it's a wash" after hearing testimony from Brianna Kingsley, 40, and her 37-year-old ex, William Wojciechowski.
Kingsley filed a handwritten small claims petition in August claiming Wojciechowski "retains possession of my surgically extracted testicles, preserved in (a) Mason jar, kept in (the) fridge next to the eggs. Demand immediate return of my human remains specimen and damages of $6,500."
Wojciechowski filed a counterclaim seeking $6,500 in damages because he said he had been "humiliated" by coverage of the case by "worldwide news outlets."
Bowie denied both claims, a decision he said Wednesday can't be appealed. The judge said Kingsley had an opportunity to get her testicles back when an Oakland County Sheriff's deputy accompanied her to Wojciechowski's Pontiac home in January 2023.
When the deputy escorted her to the house, Kingsley had just gotten out of the Oakland County Jail, where she'd been incarcerated for three days and fined $100 for violating a personal protection order Wojciechowski had filed against her.
"We allow a one-time visit with a Sheriff's officer in situations like that for people to go back to get their belongings," the judge said. "Ms. Kingsley failed to retrieve the testicles from the refrigerator at that time. ... If they were so important to her, she had the opportunity to grab them, and she didn't."
Wojciechowski said he threw the body parts away in July.
"They were rotting in my fridge, and it was disgusting — I've got food in there I wanted to eat," Wojciechowski told the judge. "She didn't keep them in a biohazard container like she was supposed to."
Tumblr media
"Specifically why I asked you: I can put a dollar amount on, say, if you were missing work at $16 an hour," Bowie said. "But as to testicles, I can't really put a number on it."
Kingsley, who clutched a small black comfort dog throughout the hearing, said the March 23, 2022 surgery at Henry Ford Hospital cost $20,000, although she said because she's disabled, the state footed the bill.
But the state paid for that; you didn't," Bowie said. "You're not going to be unjustly enriched."
Kingsley replied: "They were my testicles. ... We're talking about my nuts. ... I wanted them in my fridge — not his. ... He denied me access to my own body parts. I don't think that can be quantified. The damages were the loss of these nuts."
According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, "The Medicaid program covers medically necessary gender affirmation/confirming medical, surgical, and pharmacologic treatments and procedures for beneficiaries clinically diagnosed with gender dysphoria." Medicaid is the government health insurance coverage for mostly low-income residents.
At one point during Wednesday's hearing, the judge told Kingsley to stop interrupting him, saying, "I've been patient enough."
Kingsley and Wojciechowski said they met on Facebook Community in April 2020 and in the fall of 2021 they moved into a Pontiac house Wojciechowski bought.
After her surgery, Kinsley said she put her testicles in a Mason jar and stored them in the refrigerator "because I deal with trauma with comedy. Shakespeare did it."
The couple broke up in December 2022. Wojciechowski secured a personal protection order against Kingsley, which she violated a month later. After she got out of jail and was escorted by a sheriff's deputy to retrieve her belongings from Wojciechowski's home, she visited the house a second time about a month later.
Wojciechowski said he denied her entry the second time because he felt she was harassing him. The judge said he had a right to deny her entry, since she'd already been allowed to retrieve her belongings a month earlier.
Earlier Wednesday, Kingsley had a hearing scheduled on charges of destruction of property, after she allegedly damaged Wojciechowski's front door. Bowie said she didn't appear for that hearing and that it had been rescheduled for Feb. 28.

I hate cps workers so much. As a child there was 7 different times cps workers came to my house and literally refused to do their fucking jobs and actually protect me at all. And I just saw a tiktok where a bunch of cps workers in the comments were joking about like, how they don't really care about anything other than just making it to the weekend and not having to do too much paperwork. I knew children as a kid, friends of mine, who died from the abuse they faced. Cps had been to their homes to, and not done a single fucking thing. I nearly died several times. I live with crippling, and I do mean literally crippling complex-ptsd. My quality of life was destroyed completely. Still isn't what it could've been if a single fucking cps worker had actually cared about little abused kid me. It's just a fucking job to them. They don't understand the agony, the desperate wishing that someone would save you. Or maybe they just genuinely don't care.

#south park#butters stotch#vic chaos#professor chaos#marjorine stotch#vampire butters#my art#sketches#i felt the need to include the drawing explaining vic#he is not the ''evil alter'' he is a protector who wants revenge on their abusers#also while im here: as i see it ''vic'' and ''professor chaos'' become two different alters at some point in the future#so vic chaos in post covid is not professor victor chaos. you know?#vic chaos in post covid splits from butters being grounded for 16 years. and so the prof victor chaos we have here becomes prof chaos#two different alters IN THE FUTURE as of now they are one.#and also vic will always be older than butters. the only ones who dont age are marjorine and butters after a point#i like to imagine as an adult. even in return to covid. vic is still the host of the system. so butters basically becomes a little who is#like at oldest maybe 14#i imagine vampire will grow with butters until hes a teenager and then stop aging around 14-16.#also i reference inside mari in the first sketch but really i think of this more like jane from doom patrol. how the entire system works to#protect kay. how jane becomes the host for years and has the pressure put on her not to do anything that would hurt kay.#like that feels like vic chaos to me. hes got pressure on him to not hurt butters. and theyve all got a job to protect butters.#sorry for the ramble ill definitely draw smth in reference to the scene from doom patrol s4 when jane gets high and apologizes to kay#and shes like ''im sorry. this is your body.'' and kay goes ''its our body.''

I think the mha fandom is just fundamentally unfamiliar with the concept of ambition which is the driving force of the show. and that's why all the fics end up like they do. lots of media have the main characters in a "we're doing this cause we have to for xyz reasons" mindset. where my hero academia all the characters have the "we're going to do this no matter what because we want to more than anything" mindset. Each and every character has a strong motivation to get somewhere and accomplish something. Not every show has that type of story and I think that's kind of sad

"don't look away" as the internet's rallying cry for like massacres and genocides and shit is so stupid
Like I've watched so many videos of people dying in my life and it helped No One but it did give me trauma and has made my life worse in many ways! Congrats you are guilting people into traumatizing themselves and you are accomplishing nothing
Did you know that every screaming parent holding their kids corpse sounds exactly the same
Does this knowledge save anyone

Making this it's own post so I don't hijack anyone else's lmao but: the answer to the question "why would you become a teacher if you hate children" (and the less-asked but just as important "why would you go into nursing if you hate sick people") is: they want to have absolute power over people, and teaching and nursing are some of the easiest ways to get it. The people it is easiest to get power over are children and sick people. That's why.
Teaching and nursing attract bullies because they give people power over other people, and they will attract more bullies as long as they continue to be underpaid, because hospitals and schools desperate to keep enough staff to keep running are a lot less likely to fire people unless they absolutely have to—and right now, it most hospitals and school districts, the teachers and nurses treating you and your kids like shit aren't actually breaking any rules, because the rules are there to make schools and hospitals easy to run, not to make them effective at treating patients or teaching students.
Also, to be clear, the actual solution to this is less "more good people need to agree to get treated like shit and paid fuckin' nothing until the good ones outnumber the bad;" that's nice, a good teacher or a good nurse makes a huge difference. But until we start paying teachers and nurses a living wage and giving them reasonable hours (so that maybe some normal people can work these jobs who aren't martyrs OR bullies but just like Normal People Doing Their Jobs) AND we make education more accessible to disabled and poor people (and less accessible to bullies) this is Not Going To Get Better.

Updates
Hi everyone! I'm Harper, one of the new hosts of the Retro Corner.
I'd like to say I have some pretty major updates to share as an explaination as to why we suddenly vanished (This will be reblogged to all our blogs).
TWs for this post are small mentions of our abuse and police/CPS.
We are currently in the process of moving away from our abusive mother. We're no longer in her house, and awaiting our next birthday to legally move out. Police have been involved on account of us reporting her near the start of this month, and CPS are also getting involved, however we have no updates on it.
We are currently living with our partner, and feel much safer than before. We're still getting used to it all. :) Have a swell day, folks

i know I should focus on writing and not poke hornets nests but. though saionji haters of the “i dont care about him & dont wanna hear about him” variety are completely valid . If you for real think saionji is a villain the way akio is a villain. you completely missed the point of the show
#and i dont even mean that theyre the same but akio is much worse#i mean that we are literally shown - textually - that saionji is a steadfast; loyal; honorable boy whothinks he is upholding a strict but#fair moral system and genuinely means well#but he like everyone else (male and female) is groomed into the fucked up partiarchal worldview of possession and control that says that#people like him (men; ‘princes’) are responsible for protecting others at the cost of their own well-being AND the well-being of those they#are ‘protecting’#and we literally see everyone at some point or other fall into this slippery slope at akios behest INCLUDING utena both in tje first arc#when she thinks she can’save’ anthy just by telling her what to do and later when she slaps wakaba (the SAME gesture as saionji to anthy in#ep 1) after being manipulated by touga#in fact saionji being the boogeyman in the first arc and bein shown being abusive in such a self evident and ‘uncomplicated’ way at the ver#y beginning. is the POINT. bc from then on the manipulation abuse etc gets more subtle complex layered and complicated by many different#interpersonal rships at the same time.#but saionji is also literally again TEXTUALLY shown in the final arc#to paradoxically be a better person than touga who seems the least bad of the 2 and goes around calling himself a feminist#bc when saionji sees the truth of what akio is and what the duels and prince/princess roles do to people he immediately is disgusted and#wants nothing to do with it and cannot even STAND the sight of akio. whereas touga sees it just as clearly and has for a much longer time#but he still will not separate himself from akio because he wants the power he thinks he can gain regardless of the consequences and hurt#to himself yes. but also to others; anthy utena nanami AND saionji.#and this isnt even to say that ohh the real bad guy is touga actually hate touga instead. tougas situation is also complext#none of the kids are bad people (though some are better people than others i.e. utena and wakaba)#they are all victims of a system in which they are being groomed and manipulated to play roles that disregard their humanity and cause them#to be in pain and to put other people in pain#and lastly you can say ‘well but saionji was still an asshole he slapped anthy while she was in a sort-of gf role to him that’s literally#abuse.’ and YES. he was and it is.#however rgu isn’t about finding The Bad People who do The Bad Things its about showing how these toxic systems perpetrate themselves to the#misery of EVERYONE involved.#and that happens because people buy into it from a VERY young age. but that doesnt mean they cant learn better.#the only truly bad guy in rgu is akio and that isn’t because hes an exception to the ‘everyone is a complex morally grey human and people#cause hurt to each other without setting out to do so’ but because he’s NOT a normal human being he is basically a thought experiment.#of what would happen if someone LOST the ability to change and question themselves and learn better. or you could say. to revolutioniz

7. Which character do you think is the most similar to c!Dream?
Answered!
-
16. What’s your favourite c!Dream headcanon?
My headcanons about his backstory aside, I really love the whole admin!Dream headcanon. I's so versatile, and there's so many different ways you can play it. It's just a lot of fun.
-
27. What do you think is c!Dream’s greatest strength?
I had to sit and think about this for awhile, but I'll go with his protectiveness. I almost said loyalty, which is part of it, but I think his protectiveness is his best quality. At his heart, c!Dream is a protector. And sure, it overlaps with him being overly self-sacrificial sometimes, but being willing to defend not just your friends but animals, people you don't even know, and even your enemies? That's pretty admirable, man.

Only my whole childhood, every sunday and some saturdays and wednesdays too. Growing up with charismatic pentecostal parents when you are an introverted little redheaded girl was just too much...talk about your nervous system being overloaded with too much - try being 10 y.o. and watching all the adults around you in church cry, moan, shout, jump, fall down, jerk, dance, babble, clap all at the same time, over and over. It was too much.

Yes their are many older children that need homes but who the hell approved adopting a traumatized teenage boy into a home that had 3 girls ranging in age from 6 still a toddler?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This sounds like a more extreme version of a family I know personally. The couple already had a girl was young, not sure the exact age, they adopted an older boy. So the girls had to adjust to not just a new sibling but a bigger and stronger male. If both families wanted a boy so they couldn't have adopted a younger boy.
