Go-Busters!!
Tumblr media
What are thoughts on this?
I'm still waiting for a reunion special... though I understand the timing during the 10th anniversary wasn't ideal because of the controversy with Usada's VA (he cheated on his wife, the extremely popular singer Lisa) and Nick's VA passing away.
I'm glad the cast still seems close, though! They seem to get together and hang out a lot, and they often include Ayame Misaki (Escape) in their meet ups too :))

Jump Festa 2024 SAKAMOTO DAYS Special Stage
(Part 2) Here are some of the things that were discussed, & exchanges that the guests had, which i manage to understand from the panel. I did not include those that i couldn't quite catch. Apologise if i misheard anything cuz my listening for Japanese isn't top-notch 🙏
3rd Segment - Behind the Scenes Footage, featuring Suzuki-sensei's Workdesk & Manga Collections
Ishikawa-san managed to get these exclusive photos from Suzuki-sensei, with permission, & shared them with the audience.
Tumblr media
Ishikawa-san generously provided a walkthrough of some of the stuff here. The handgun replica & sniper rifle replica are those that Sakamoto's gun and Heisuke's rifle were modelled after. The white drawer on the left is where Sensei keeps the fans' letters that he receives. He also has Vaundy's "Replica" limited edition album which he joyfully talked about in one of his weekly comments (the orange one on the top shelf above his drawing board). There's also a bunch of manga collection on the right shelf -includes Dōmu by Katsuhiro Otomo-sensei, who is one of Sensei's favourite mangaka, as well as Mugen no Juunin, etc.
Ishikawa-san told the audience abit about the story behind Sensei's drawing desk (those who have read the manga would already know it, he said). This desk was originally used by his wife back when she was a junior high school student. Suzuki-sensei felt that it was just right for him so he has been using it from then on until today. Additionally, Ishikawa-san also shared a cool story behind Sensei's drawing board. Suzuki-sensei went to the hardware store to buy one but he found this piece of wood apparently thrown away. So he took a look & thought it'd be a good fit if he used it as a drawing board and so he took it home. Ishikawa-san added that it costed Sensei 0 yen! The host commented, "That's what we call Recycling!" Suzuki-san later praised Suzuki-sensei for being such a talented person & he proudly stated that he's a fan of Suzuki-sensei.
A funny bit: When the host pointed out about the elbow rest pads on the sides of the drawing board as she wasn't sure if they were, Ishikawa-san answered, "Yes they are elbow rest pads. It's for you to rest your elbows on them." and then Suzuki-san just burst out laughing & he said, "That's why they're called elbow rest pads! You're supposed to rest your elbows on them!" lmaoooo.
Tumblr media
Moving on to the left photo first, Ishikawa-san stated that those tools that Suzuki-sensei labelled '1st Military Set' are the ones that Sensei very often uses to draw the manga. There are different types of pens, which include G pen, Maru pen, Milli pen, etc). I'm not sure if I got this right but I thought Ishikawa shared that originally, Suzuki-sensei drew the series using G pens but now he has changed to use Milli pen.
When the host asked about the coins on the ruler, Ishikawa-san explained that some artists might tape coins especially to the underside of a flat ruler to help create a gap or a bridge so as to prevent the ink from bleeding onto the edge thus messing one's artwork.
As for the right photo, Suzuki-sensei's bookshelf is filled with manga series like Naruto, One Punch Man, Hunter x Hunter & so on. There's also a long, black stick on the right but none of them knew what it was lol. Suzuki-san wondered if it was the opponent's rifle (Kamihate's sniper rifle) but then they all just brushed it off as just a stick lmaooo even though all of them are curious what it actually is. (Idk, I thought it was a katana haha)
Suzuki-san once again praised Suzuki-sensei for arranging his manga & JUMP magazines so neatly while the host personally feels that Sensei really knows how to take good care of his belongings & use them with great care.
At the end of the photo-showcase, Suzuki-san asked Ishikawa-san if he had by any chance accidentally said anything weird or odd to him, but Ishikawa-san responded that if Suzuki-san had done so, then he would have imagined killing him. Suzuki-san was like, "Scaaary" & then immediately went full mode in-character & spoke Shin's dialogue, "Why did you imagine killing me?!" And then he went on, "I had to say it." lmaooo
4th Segment - Lucky Draw
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(left photo) So the 5 Lucky Draw winners have won this entire set of SAKAMOTO DAYS original goods. Yea, each person gets the entire set! Congratulations to them!
(right photo) As for those who did not win the Lucky Draw, they also received a gift (bonus, rare sticker) for attending the SakaDays panel!
5th Segment - Collaborations
Tumblr media
Collaboration with Bandai Candy. SAKAMOTO DAYS wafers, with special metallic cards, will be available in Japan stores in June 2024. There will be a total of 28 types of cards, 6 of which are the rare cards. Please look forward to further information in the future!
Suzuki-san revealed that he used to buy a lot of wafer cards & it made him so happy. This time he has to be careful not to eat too much wafers, to which Ishikawa-san responded that he's already thinking of going on a diet just to get himself prepared for June 2024 lmaooo.
Collaboration with Tower Records Cafe. The collaboration cafe is set to open some time in 2024 & Ishikawa-san stated that he could not reveal any further information yet so kindly look forward to future updates!
Final Segment - Volume 15 Reveal
Tumblr media
Volume 15 features Kumanomi, and it will be released in Japan stores Thursday, January 4, 2024.
Suzuki-san commented that the cover is amazing & he love the colour choices, whereas Ishikawa-san was kinda fanboying over Kumanomi; he said she's really beautiful! (Ishikawa-san is a man of culture indeed.)
Closing
Message from Ishikawa-san: Thank you to those that came today & those who watch this broadcast. Thank you very much also for always looking forward to & reading SAKAMOTO DAYS. Suzuki-sensei & the entire team are deeply motivated by everyone's support! From here on out, SAKAMOTO DAYS will be more action-packed & have interesting developments as the final battle against the formidable enemy, Slur, is about to begin. Kindly look forward to it! And as always we look forward to your continued support. Thank you very much!
Message from Suzuki-san: I, Ryōta Suzuki, am truly honoured to be on stage here today, as one of the fans of the series. I can really feel how great SAKAMOTO DAYS is, seeing how so many people have gathered here today to watch the event & we also got to know a lot of things, even stuff from behind-the-scenes. Thank you very much for having me!

Ten Films I LOVE
tagged by my comedy partner in crime, the tsukkomi to my boke; @zurdoabsurdo
Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl (1999 dir. Katsuhiro Ishii) This is my movie. Movie of all time. Rotten Tomatoes can eat my ass with their 25% rating. A yakuza on the run for stealing from the boss from a wacko cast of assassins with a clever girl in tow. It's what Tarantino wishes he could make.
Heat (1995 dir. Michael Mann) I mean, come on. AlPacino, Robert DeNiro, Val Kilmer, Tom Sizemore, Ashely Judd, Mykelti Williamson? This movie could not fail even if that was the goal.
The Accountant (2001 dir. Ray McKinnon) It's a short film, and Ray is actually from the town I've lived in the last twenty years, so I have a soft spot for him. Ray is so captivating as an actor, and this film was something else. It's somber but still moving.
Straight Talk (1992 dir. Barnet Kellman) It's a cornball romcom, but it's DOLLY PARTON'S romcom. I love this movie to pieces. I even have one of the original movie posters. Unfortunately I have to also look at James Woods' face lol.
Tombstone (1993 dir. George P. Cosmatos) Another that's like, be serious. I love westerns and the outlaw/lawman yeehaw bullshit. You know how it is with yeehaw bullshit.
Deadland Inferno/Zアイランド (2015 Hiroshi Shinagawa) An action zombie comedy. This one is for the yakuza gworls (gn). Basic we have a plan to get to safety from zombies and hijinks ensuse. Sho Aikawa, SHINGO TSURUMI MY BABY BOY BABY, Hideo Nakano, Hitoshi Ozawa, Sawa Suzuki. So like...dead souls but you're playing as Takasugi, Sagawa, Shibusawa, and Kuze LOL
The Bridges of Madison County (1995 dir. Clint Eastwood) Romance between an older couple, bittersweet partings, it's everything. I'm a closet die hard romantic.
My Dead Dad (2021 dir. Fabio Frey) I watched this for Raymond Cruz and wasn't expecting much but it really hit me. For reasons of my own dead dad that I was estranged from, but there were so many pieces that were like snapshots of my own teens years. The skate parks and ugly fucking skate shoes, weed, sour beer. It's also beautifully shot. It was my movie of 2022.
Grosse Pointe Blank (1997 dir. George Armitage) The soundtrack fucking rips. Probably one of my favorites ever. Joe Strummer put his whole pussy in it. A black comedy, John Cusack & Minnie Driver? Hot stuff
The Devil's Advocate (1997 dir. Taylor Hackford) MY GAY AWAKENING, A MOVIE I HAD NO BUSINESS WATCHING UNDER THE AGE OF TEN. I was obsessed with this movie. Tamara Tunie only had a small part man....she changed my life forever. If you love the tropes of good and evil, the devil, lawyers, Keanu Reeves with a terrible southern drawl, watch this :)
Tagging @necrotizer @coffeemakesmeahappybean @xyndario and anyone else that wants to share their favorite films <3

How to transmit power to the road surface without loss. A machine that meets the basics of this dirt track is available as a complete car. A lot of tuning know-how has been poured into Cultus from TAJIMA of Suzuki works.
CULTUS GT-i Type Dirt Trial
Tuned by
SUZUKI SPORTS
Photos/Katsuhiro Hara, Report / Hitoshi Sezai
It's an affordable works car
What is important for dirt trials is how to transmit power to the road surface without loss. In order to maintain high speed on low friction roads, the point is how to improve stability and keep all four wheels on the ground. When it comes to dirt, many people immediately think of drifting and enjoy flashy countersteering, but in reality, grip driving is the basics. Drivers are always making efforts to increase speed while paying close attention to traction.
Therefore, the higher the level of the machine, the more advanced the driving technique is required on the dirt, and there are many cases where understeer occurs when riding a dirt track. It's outdated now that you're running like you're running a tail just because it's dirt.
However, the Cultus GTI, which can be said to be Suzuki's works car, is a car that can be tried without anxiety from beginners to advanced riders. This machine was set up by Suzuki Sports, led by Mr. Tajima, who can be said to be a leading figure in the dirt track world. It was a machine that the manager of the JIM showroom participated in the All-Star Dirt Trial A1 class in 1990. Since the same thing as this is available as a complete car, it can be said that it is the commercialization of a works machine.
High grounding property with high balance
To be honest, the handling of the Cultus GT in normal mode is at a level that makes you want to close your eyes.
It's so solid that you won't believe you're wearing shoes, so you don't feel uneasy about the feeling of grounding. It is reassuring that the four wheels are always gripping the road surface because of the extremely high front-to-rear balance and the large suspension stroke. Even if you are mean and try hard braking from high speed, quick turns, etc., the feeling of ground contact in the rear is not lost.
So it makes no sense to try to drift on a tarmac with a high grip level. On a subtle note, performance on pavement never
It was like a high-revving engine that revs up without a hitch. However, from the moment I got into this car, the first thing that came to my mind was that his background was by no means bad.
The body is so solid that you wouldn't expect it to be a 132, and although it's a little large for this class, it's thanks to that that it has a calm riding feel. In the normal version, this was the cause of giving a dull impression, but the suspension tuning was applied, and the sharpness was greatly improved along with the marginal performance. In this class, where sharpness is the only selling point, it can be said that by incorporating stability, we have acquired a one-size-higher ability.
In particular, the high cornering performance
Even in the binding, a block-based dirt tire
It's not a high-speed tire, so it's true that it has a slip angle even at low speeds. However, because the front-rear balance is outstandingly high, in cases where drifting is intentional, the performance limit of the car will be exceeded, and the power will just be eaten away. This setting, which was born as a result of seeking high marginal performance in dirt driving, is in line with the limits of tire performance, so to speak.
The high level unique to a works machine is also greatly demonstrated in its tuning know-how. In this test drive, I was able to fully recognize its underlying strength.

Seats, roll bars and other parts can be added to the base complete car according to the driver's wishes.
Tires are ADVAN GR-17, 175/65. It is a setting with a high limit that uses this performance to the limit.
The good front-to-rear balance gives a sense of stability that is not typical of dirt tires, even on paved roads.

*Favourite film/book*
.
Based on the photo alone, it’s safe to say that I like the animated film ‘Akira’ by Katsuhiro Otomo… Maybe a little bit. (You wouldn’t believe that I own more copies than what’s pictured).
.
The film was released in 1988 and was once the most expensive animated film to be produced. It’s a cyberpunk action film directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, produced by Ryōhei Suzuki and Shunzō Katō, and written by Otomo and Izo Hashimoto, based on Otomo's 1982 manga of the same name. Set in a dystopian 2019, it tells the story of Shōtarō Kaneda, a leader of a biker gang whose childhood friend, Tetsuo Shima, acquires incredible telekinetic abilities after a motorcycle accident, eventually threatening an entire military complex amid chaos and rebellion in the sprawling futuristic metropolis of Neo-Tokyo.
.
Akira means a lot to me, it’s a visual masterpiece. From the revolutionary cel animation to the atmospheric score, it’s no wonder it became a cult classic. The part about this visual story that really connects with me is the relationships presented between the characters and themselves. The animators worked hard to capture the mental health struggles of deuteragonist Tetsuo Shima through surrealist imagery and body horror. As a viewer, this film never fails to keep me stunned, no matter how many times I’ve seen it. I highly recommend it! (I could go on, but some things are best saved for the viewing!)

What sentai would you wish had a 10 years after?
GoBusters, easily. It's still my favorite Sentai after... well, almost ten years since I watched it. And judging from the fact that all the main actors for the Rangers have been involved with toku in some capacity in the interim (Katsuhiro Suzuki was Kamen Rider Quiz, Ryoma Baba was in Ninninger, Amazons and Zero-One, Arisa Komiya voiced a villain in Kyuuranger and was in Zero-One, and of course there's Mr. Sentai Ambassador himself Hiroya Matsumoto who was most recently in Revice), I'd say they're probably open to returning as well.
There's a couple of issues where the VAs for the Buddyroids are concerned though. J's VA is Yuichi Nakamura, who is probably going to be busy since he's likely to reprise his role as Kuroo Tetsuro in the final season of Haikyuu, which has already been announced, and his character is going to have a huge role in it. Usada's is Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who may not be invited to return due to his recent controversy (which also lead him to a hiatus that necessitated recasting his role as Gege on Zenkaiger). And Nick's VA, Kenji Fujiwara, unfortunately passed away in 2020.
