Yeah, yeah, we all talk about this moment. But I think we need to talk more about how Macaque came to a party he wasn't invited to, JUST to see Wukong. And not like, to be bitter or anything. No, he just sat down next to him and hung out.

Despite being genuinely confident, Macaque is shown to be a reserved person throughout the show (only really talking to Wukong when he was part of the Brotherhood, not really talking when making a plan, sitting out with Nezha when Wukong was training the Monkie Kids) so the fact that he willingly went to a loud beach party with like 15 people there (I don't feel like counting the actual number) just to sit with Wukong brings me joy.

God I’m talking to a friend in VC and I’m actually losing my mind over MK and Wukong. Their relationship is so sweet but also so unhealthy. MK’s loyalty to Wukong is so unwavering to a fault. This is the most obvious example of hero worship. He had idolized and worship this guy for years and now he’s the student of this man. That’s going to create a admiration that is severely flawed. And Wukong, while growing to care for MK, still puts way too much pressure on the kid. He gives hollow speeches about MK believing in himself and expects him to be able to figure everything out. And while, yeah, MK figures it out, he needs someone to guide him. And Wukong is just not that great of a mentor. But he’s trying and that’s the tragic part. Wukong is trying to be good for MK but he’s still being haunted by his past mistakes. Those mistakes are now affecting MK. But MK never blames Wukong. He’d much rather blame himself then the person who put him in these situations. I’m normal.
