The Golden Child Part IV
SAGAU & Impostor AU where the reader is the child of the actual creator.
Warnings: Blood, crying blood, mention of abduction and terrorism.
If you haven't read part 3 yet, you can find it here.
Please understand that I won't add new people to the taglist as it has become way too large now. I'm sorry if this causes any inconvenience.
Tumblr media
The acting Grand Sage was having a very, very busy week.
With his resignation coming soon, he wanted to finish every document that needed his immediate attention; somehow, his shift was never enough to finish everything on time.
Piles of documents that never seemed to end. Countless people needed his help that went from the most mundane things to twisted crimes that needed the immediate intervention from the Matra. In any case, once he started his working hours, there was no time to waste.
So, that was why the presence of the man in front of him managed to irk him greatly. There was enough time to be a nuisance at home, why did Kaveh feel the need to come bother him at work?
"But I'm telling you!" The blonde exclaimed. "There's definitely something weird about it!"
He sighed. "Well then, did it look like that child was being held against their will?"
"Well, no, but—"
"Then there's nothing I can do. The most I can offer is to send a Matra to investigate and/or interrogate that Lord. For all you know, they could simply be an Eremite's child."
Kaveh wanted to tell him that no, that wasn't the case, but in reality he didn't know that. There was just a feeling, a strange sensation that made him think that there must be something more about them. Kidnapped, an Eremite's child, the illegitimate Lord's child... No option sat well with him.
If Alhaitham saw that child, would he share Kaveh's thoughts?
Fuck it. If Alhaitham didn't want to help him, then he would investigate this matter himself.
Just as he was about to curse his roommate and storm away, the grand doors opened with a loud bang. Before seeing who intruded like that, they first heard the loud gasps and whispers of the scholars outside his office.
"Alhaitham!" The voice of a particular forest watcher resonated around the room. Both him and Kaveh were taken aback at the sight of the newcomers. They were bloody, beaten up, with bandages loosely covering certain areas of their bodies as if they only did it to stop the bleeding and not for properly treating the wounds. Collei was supporting both her weight and Tighnari's, as she was helping him stand and walk. "We need your help!"
The fact that Tighnari didn't refer to him as 'acting Grand Sage' denoted alarming urgency. He quickly rose from his seat and called for immediate medical help. Kaveh ran to his friend's side, gently removing him from Collei and letting him use his own body as support, earning a thankful glance from the girl. The wounds in his body started to bleed again, soaking the bandages and some of Kaveh's clothes in the process.
"What happened to you?!" The blonde asked in a panic.
Collei was still taking deep breaths, exhausted for having to carry her mentor all the way to Sumeru City. "The Ville! We were attacked!"
Alhaitham opened his eyes all the way thanks to his surprise. How come the Gandharva Ville had been attacked and he was only finding out now? By the look of the injuries, he guessed it must've happened yesterday.
"Wow, calm down! Breathe first." Kaveh said. "Explain what happened."
As the medic of the Akademiya arrived and started to treat Tighnari, Collei composed herself and started to explain everything from the beginning.
She told them about the child in the forest that was attacked by Eremites, with their family presumably dead by the Eremite's hands. How Tighnari heard them and immediately appeared to help the kid, safely escorting them to the Gandharva Ville so they could decide what to do next. She also explained how those mercenaries came back for revenge, attacking their Ville and abducting the child once every fighter was down.
Her words shocked the blonde. He looked at his roommate, half in disbelief that his own suspicions turned out to be true.
"You say they took them? Grabbed them and disappeared into the forest?"
"Yes, yes... I was knocked out and they managed to get to them...!" Collei cried. "You have to do something! Those Eremites killed their family and now have kidnapped them!"
The grand doors opened once again, and Tighnari and Kaveh both breathed a sigh of relief at the figure standing in the doorway.
The general Mahamatra had arrived.
"I heard there was a commotion here." Cyno spoke. Tighnari greeted him by saying his name, which made the newcomer turn his attention to him. When he laid his eyes upon the wounded fox hybrid and saw how beaten up he was, his blood boiled with deep rage. "What happened?"
Sensing danger from the short man, Alhaitham quickly composed himself and started to explain the situation. This didn't seem to help Cyno calm down. In fact, every word he spoke only served to fuel his anger.
"We must do something then. That child must be in danger." The general said. "We must rescue them. I'll also arrange for the other matras to track down and hunt those Eremites that raided the Ville."
Tighnari nodded. "Let's go."
"YOU won't go. The 'we' I was talking about is composed of Alhaitham, the Matra and I."
"What?!" Kaveh, Tighnari and Collei cried in unison.
"Regarding the seriousness of the situation, it's only natural that this matter is solved within members of the Matra and Akademiya." Alhaitham explained. "It could be extended to inhabitants of the Gandharva Ville, but the only thing they need now is a good doctor and a lot of rest."
"No way!" Tighnari shouted. "I have to get them back! I have to, I have to..."
His voice faded into intelligible mumbles, repeating again and again the same words. This was the first time Cyno had seen his best friend like this. What could have happened to make him act this way? Those damned Eremites... He would make sure they paid for what they've done.
Alhaitham and the grand general were quick to exit the office and start gathering people to accompany them to Alcazarzaray.
This matter had to be settled right now.
One of the people present also made his way to the exit, only that she did in the complete opposite way.
.
You were feeling very, very warm.
It was as if a giant marshmallow was enveloping you, gently offering a comfortable space to rest while you dozed off with a sense of security.
Suddenly, hand rested on your head, carefully caressing your hair in a loving manner. You opened your eyes, only to find a silhouette cradling you and watching you with hearts on their eyes.
"Keep sleeping, stardust." A soothing voice came out of their lips. "Once you wake, I won't get to hold you like this again."
The sadness in their tone made your heart ache. You gently raised your hand and rested it on their cheek, smiling when they wore a surprised expression.
"Tata..." You whispered. "Papa said they took you..."
You tried to keep smiling, you were seeing your parent again! But the thought of everything that happened only fueled the pain in your chest, making you let a sob out before starting to fully crying.
Your parent stopped the caressing to instead hug you tightly. Whispered sweet words in your ear. "You're too young for everything's that happening. How I wish I could still be hugging you in reality, and not just in this dream."
So this was a dream. Well, it didn't matter. This was the place your parent was, where you could touch them once again.
"Why did they do it...?" You could only ask between sobs.
You could hear your tata let a sigh. Both them and your father had tried to explain everything to you, at least the best they could to a little child. But maybe all you needed right now was the truth.
"I'm the one who created this world." They spoke. With a wave of their hand, something akin to stardust was born from it. It made you giggle a little. "And as such, I also wanted to live here as a mortal like everyone. Like your father, like you."
You looked into their eyes and saw all the love they had for you.
"I descended in a new body, with no powers and no memory. But the mortals and gods... Over time, they became obsessed with the idea of me. Of a being of pure love, power, and divinity. Being in a mortal body, I possessed none of that, so it was only natural that they thought I was an impostor trying to deceive them."
With each word, their tone became more and more solemn. "They... killed my body, so I now return to be a deity unapproachable by any of them. Any, except for you."
They kissed your nose gently.
"You are my child, my flesh and blood, and though I had a mortal body when you were conceived, my divinity still flows in you."
Their fingers brushed the cut in your arm, the one you got when you protected your father back in the Chasm. You averted your eyes from it. It only served to remind you what you lost that day.
"I want nothing more than destroy this world and the people in it for everything they've done to their own creator. But..."
Strangely enough, those words filled with hatred did not worry you in the slightest. Was it because it was your parent who said them? "But...?" You trailed on.
"But you and him still live here. And I do not wish for you both to feel anything remotely close to what I've experienced."
The hug enveloping you became a little tighter, as if your tata was trying to heal all their pain by embracing you.
It was a silent promise. One that said that as long as you both were alive, then the world would remain untouched.
"I miss you." You whispered, hiding your face in their chest.
"I miss you too, stardust. I hope you both live your life to the fullest before finally being reunited again. I love you."
You felt a warm and gentle kiss on your forehead and raised your head to see your parent one last time only to find a pillow resting above you, right where your tata had been. You let a sad sigh at the sight of an unknown bedroom and strange bed.
So, it really was just a dream. But it felt so real... you could still feel the tenderness of their touch and the tingle their lips left on your skin. How you missed your family...
Looking at the window in front of the bed, you noticed that the sun was already starting to set. It seemed that you fell asleep crying in your aunt's arms, how embarrassing. But to sleep all day? It really showed how your situation was exhausting your little body.
There was a small table at your right side with a plate of food on it. There was a note attached to it, with your name written on the upside. You took it and tried to read it, but the handwriting was very different from your parent's. You recognized some letters, but the words were pretty confusing.
Still, even if you couldn't read it, it left a warm feeling in your chest knowing that Dori cared enough to leave you some food and a little note for the moment you woke up.
With the piece of paper in your hand, you rushed to your backpack and took the stuffed animal from the inside, putting both items on the bed. They were your treasures now.
If only you had something from your father as well...
Opting to occupy your mind to not get sad, you tried to approach the table with the snack before a loud bang resonated around the entire palace. It seemed that someone was knocking on the front door, really hard.
As you tried to peek outside the room to see what was going on, you were surprised when Dori quickly came in and pushed you inside, closing the door behind her.
"Auntie? What's happening?" You asked with a slight tremble on your voice. Had trouble come again? Could those people from Liyue have finally found you?
"Ah, that? It's nothing. Probably the Matra trying to arrest me again for 'alleged' scams." She laugh, clearly unbothered by the whole situation. "What do you have there?"
You looked where she was pointing, right at your stuffed animal. "Oh! That's my favorite plush. Tata made it for me for my last birthday."
She smiled and picked it up in her hands. "Look at this cute thing! Handmade goods tend to sell pretty well."
Dori put the plush back where it was and turned to face you.
"Well, I see that you still haven't eaten. What do you say we have dinner together? The chef prepares the best dishes in all Teyvat!"
You giggled. "Okay!"
"Sweet! Then we—"
She stopped in the middle of the sentence as the sound of the main doors opening filled the mansion. This set her right on edge, as the butler had strict orders to not open the door to anybody, not even for the Matra or Grand Sage himself. She pressed herself to the door of the room to hear what was happening in the main hall.
"Aunt Dori?" You were confused by the sudden change of demeanor. You grabbed the stuffed animal and held it to your chest, trying to get some sense of comfort.
"Shh." She motioned for you to remain silent, so you did. Voices could be heard, and even the distressed wails of the butler resonated around the halls. Whatever was happening, it was undoubtedly bad.
Dori looked at you, which made you startle a little. "Did something happen back with the Eremites?" She asked.
"Um, well..." You trailed off, nervous. "Back in the forest, a boy from a place called Gandharva Ville found me first. He brought me back with him, and those mercenaries had to attack the city because of that misunderstanding."
She pushed her head back as the voices got louder, undoubtedly investigating the mansion in the search of something. Someone.
"Fuck, those idiots didn't even bother to tell me anything. No wonder even the Grand Sage is here." The woman mumbled under her breath. She sighed and looked back at you. "Change of plans. We have to hide, or else I'll be imprisoned for terrorism and kidnapping. Those are things I don't plan to add to my record. "
Oh no, was this your fault? Was now your aunt in trouble because you didn't go with the Eremites right away? First, the nice people in the Ville were attacked, and now Dori was going to be blamed for it.
"Quick! Let's go through the secret passage!"
She locked the door behind her and rushed to the bed, pushing it to separate the furniture from the wall. You quickly gathered the plush and the letter and put them in the backpack before helping Dori move the bed. There was a different color right where the headboard rested, and the merchant wasted no time in tearing the wallpaper to reveal a small door beneath.
The Matra was getting closer, so Dori was in a hurry to get you both out of the house. She motioned for you to go first, so you crossed the small passage while she stayed behind temporarily to move back the bed to where it was.
You found yourself back at the gardens, just at the back of the manor away from the people that were surrounding the perimeter. Nobody seemed to have spotted you yet, so you waited for Dori to crawl from the secret passage before running away.
"Stay low. These guys are the real deal here." She whispered before taking your hand in hers and guiding you through the less visible parts of the lot.
You were almost at the entrance of the forest when a member of the Matra spotted you two and quickly gave the signal to his associates.
"There! They're trying to escape using the southern exit!"
It wasn't long before the rest of the Matra started to mobilize in your direction. Dori opted to stop hiding and run as fast as you could, as a last attempt to lose the officials.
You almost managed to reach the edge of the forest when the ground rose in front of you, forming a pillar made of dirt and stones that blocked the path ahead.
"Stop! Lord Sangemah Bay, you are under arrest!"
Turning around, a member of the Matra with a Geo vision was the culprit of your dead end. He was concentrating on maintaining the pillar as the General Mahamatra made his way towards you. Dori put you behind her, which didn't really help to cover you as your heights were not so far away.
"Lord Sangemah Bay." Greeted Cyno, though his voice was filled with nothing but disdain. "I knew you were a scammer, but I'd have never thought of you a terrorist. Have anything to say about this?"
She furrowed her brows but otherwise remained silent. So, he instead looked at you.
"So this is the kid that made you even attack Gandharva Ville to capture. Who is this? Why are you keeping them?"
You wanted to answer him, but the hold Dori had on your hand suddenly felt tighter as if she was silently telling you to keep quiet. Cyno sighed, knowing that he would not get anything out of the pair.
"I see how it is. You both will have to come with the Matra then."
The breeze picked up strongly.
A powerful burst of wind almost knocked Cyno off his feet; he even had to summon his polearm and nail it to the ground to remain in his place. Dirt and leaves started floating from everywhere, and you had to cover your eyes to avoid hurting them.
Only when everything calmed down you ventured to open them once again. You were now facing the back of a small man, with black and green hair and light green tattoos in the visible skin in his arms.
You had a very, very bad feeling about this guy; for the clothing he bore told everyone present that he was foreign to their nation.
"I'm afraid I can't allow to take this child with you."
The stranged summoned his own weapon; a jade colored polearm materialized in his hand as he took a more defensive stance.
"I know you." Cyno spoke. He regained his balance and also held his spear in his hands. "Liyue seems to be pretty far away from here, don't you think?"
Liyue.
This man was here to take you back. Because you were your parent's child, wasn't it? They wanted the child born from the divinity they were obsessed with.
Oh no, no, no, no...
You took one step backward but instantly froze when the boy turned his head to look at you the moment your foot touched the ground. His golden eyes bore right into yours, as if he was nothing more than a predator waiting for the best chance to strike.
However, he promptly returned his attention to the general when he saw that you were no longer moving.
"Heed my words, for this is the only warning I'll offer, mortal. Forget everything about this child, for they are now under the eternal custody of Liyue and the Geo Archon."
Cyno frowned. He still didn't understand the situation that well, but something about you was so special that even the Rex Lapis himself was sending his own acolytes to fetch them. Now, the attack on the Ville made more sense.
He didn't know who you could possibly be, but from the looks of it, you were terrified at the sight of the adeptus. Was this another kidnapping? For a god to step so low...
If anything, he only knew that you didn't want to go with him. So, you should stay here. Right where the Matra could protect you.
He took one step in the adeptus' direction, but the same strong wind from before returned and threatened to send him flying. He could only discern a green stream quickly making his way to where you were standing before vanishing, with the wind closely behind.
When he was able to get the dirt out of his eyes, only the sight of his fellow matra remained. Xiao was gone; you were too. He didn't see the Lord either, but he stopped paying them attention early on. Maybe they took this chance to escape the Matra and avoid any questioning.
His coworkers were quick to offer a hand; two of them helped him stand while the rest immediately started a search party for both Dori and the missing child.
Liyue, huh?
He had to report this to the acting Grand Sage.
There is no justice in letting a handful of people have his way with a kid. He would rescue them, even if he had to cross the whole land to get there.
.
"Isn't the weather beautiful today?"
The Fatui soldier didn't voice her answer, only nodded to maintain her silence. She had her head hanging low, for she was paying respect to the man in front of her.
You had to be always careful when in the presence of Dottore, after all.
"A little bird told me something funny today." His deep tone made chills run down her spine. His silhouette in front of the window gave an ominous feeling, the weather displaying a colorful battle of blue, purple, and yellow thanks to the storm outside. "It appears that the Creator themself descended a few years ago!"
"H-huh?!" She could not help the gasp of surprise that left her mouth but quickly returned to her position of submission when the mad man turned to see her.
Instead of getting angry, he smiled creepily. "Just as you hear. Our Divine Grace finally returned to this world, only that they did in a mortal body. That impostor that every soul on Teyvat made their goal to catch? It turned out to be the real and mighty Overlord!"
The Fatui raised her head in disbelief, watching him as he laughed like a maniac.
"But Liyue was the lucky winner; they managed to grab them and display their headless body for every habitant to see!" He took one step closer to the glass, smiling every time lightning illuminated the scenery. "It's just now that the other nations are finding this out... Inazuma might've been the first, as the only thing covering the skies are the mournful thunder and lightning from the lady that holds their power. Ah, she truly must feel like her heart is being ripped out at these news!"
As if agreeing with him, the sky roared a few times.
"She can grieve all she wants. Morax could've been the executioner, but the rest of them also raised their weapons and didn't hesitate to hurt the Divine One even when they claimed innocence asked for mercy."
She didn't know what to say. Was this true? Their almighty god, their benevolent and loving one... Had already descended and was killed because people simply didn't believe it?
"This is going to be fun." Dottore hummed. "I almost can't wait for when the other archons discover what transpired. Will they unleash their fury and sorrow upon Liyue? Hehe, I sure hope this storm marks the beginning of the end."
He turned around and started to exit the room, but not before giving the soldier under him his last command.
"Wait for the next ship to Snezhnaya to deliver a letter. Inform the Tsaritsa that even though her efforts to reach our Divine One to aid them were hindered by the other archons, this time we can all protect the most precious gift they've left for us."
She looked at him quizzically but made no comment to refuse him.
"That's right." He laughed. "We'll take care of them while the rest of the world crumbles and destroys itself..."

Harry Potter/Genshin Impact Crossover Fun🎉
for @kiraisastay my beta reader for the big fat Eldritch AU awhile back! :)
“…a genshin/Harry Potter crossover where reader (still fem) comes from genshin (so she has a vision) and tries to fit in at Hogwarts (would love for it to be set around the Goblet Of Fire so the hp characters in that age start maturing and actually understand what happens around them and aren't little kids , plus, y'know, YULE BALL), would also like for the reader to have a more stoic/emotionless personality with tragic past (so like having scars y'knowww) cuz it makes character building a lot more juicy ahah, but you can write it however you want tho!! (this can be funnier to write if you're feeling a lot creative)”
Tumblr media
UGH sorry i took forever! im rlly bad at estimating time...
I hope this is a fun read at least, and thanks for much for taking on that eldritch monster fic awhile back lol
Orbit: Long Headcanon/fic-thing (~2k words) - Harry Potter x Genshin Impact Crossover (4th Year)
Sun: Feminine Reader (she/her), Slytherin Reader, Reader is 15-16 year old.
Stars: Harry, Ron, Hermione, McGonagall, Dumbledore, Snape, Viktor Krum, mentions of others.
Comets & Meteors: Content Warnings: Reader has rough past, & Trigger Warnings: vague mentions of scars, Reader has bad relationship with parents.
You’re so fucking happy your Cryo Vision came with you.
You knew you were in a different country, one you definitely had never been to before, but you couldn’t figure out for the life of you where it was at first
Your first guess was Fontaine, but the robes and strange overuse of catalyst weapons (actually, only catalyst weapons??) began to convince you otherwise real quick,
Fontaine was just the closest country you could compare it to
yeah so obviously by the time u realized you shouldn't be waving a sword around, it was too late lmao, u scared the shit out of the potions shopkeeper and had to make a hasty exit
bc for some reason any other weapon than a catalyst is shamed here?? which makes no sense to you, as it seems like their “magic” here could just as easily be channeled into different weapons/items??
u guess not having monsters to randomly fight everytime u just wanna take a walk outside makes for a pretty peaceful world, and specifically this country ”England” or the “United Kingdom”
u had taken a week or so to re-orient yourself to this new world, how only a certain society knew about their magic, how there were no gods here, at least not any u could easily interact with, and that most people your age would be in school still???
while u could choose to pursue higher education or specialize in Sumeru’s Akademiya, basic schooling was still provided in every country in Teyvat up until about 15 years old
but at this point u were willing to do what it took to blend into this world, and u didnt want anyone to be asking how old u were/why u werent in school when you wandered around, so u went to Hogwarts
It also proved to be a good way to acquaint urself with the world/its magic and give u a place to better excuse any social or magical mistakes
But needless to say, u struggled, u had to constantly find some workaround for “magic” from the wands/catalysts in classes
and luckily they took u being a transfer student pretty smoothly, as u were just in time for the “Triwizard Tournament” to be announced and other schools were coming to participate, u easily got accepted in
and the only one who batted an eye at it was the weird old Headmaster, who u already suspected knew more abt u than he was letting on (Dumbledore seemed to have eyes everywhere the more u learned, which made u more suspicious of him too)
you'd been sorted into Slytherin, along with the Russian magical students, (Durmstrang?)
of which you had absolutely no frame of reference for how bad that was, other than being accused of literally being from the Abyss 💀
while the rest of the student body treated u with the basic contempt u learned all Slytherins just seemed to kind of get all the time, ur own house was a little more confusing when it came to you
some were curious abt all the scars, the strange glowing snowflake gem that u concealed on ur hip, what ur country was like and what the magic school over there was like (thank fuck for ur poker face and insane lying skills that made it believable)
(there was absolutely a rumor abt u pulling a sword on Filch at some point, u neither denied nor supported it)
the other half of the slytherins were all uptight about u possibly being a “Muggleborn” and sneered at u every chance they got (some weird blond kid a year or 2 below you??)
or they outright ignored u
tbh u didn't really get much genuine favor between Slytherins just being Slytherins and ur own reputation/cold disposition until Professor Snape saw how good u were at potions a month into this insanity
(it was just basic alchemy? nearly everyone, especially Vision-users, knew how to do it back home? why was it so special here?? u had this kind of question a lot in this world over most things, like the “muggles dont know abt magic” thing, it seem like more trouble than its worth.)
U both got along in the same way a cold-demeanor father bonds with his carbon copy cold-demeanor daughter lol
in which he invited u for tea sometimes out of polite extra teaching for “ur future plans of being a potion master, like myself”
which okay?? u were better than most ur age at potions bc of alchemy (which u learned is taught at higher levels of potion mastery) and its not like you've figured out how to get back to ur world anytime soon
so u just roll with that being ur “future career” for now, it makes the old emo professor happy so u figure why not
And its the first scrap of favor you’ve found here so it works
Tho u did complain at Snape for picking on Gryffindors, saying “ur rlly not helping that Slytherin reputation for tall dark and evil here”
He proceeded to make u clean and reorganize his potion stores for that lol
(Tho he did start to lighten up the more u picked on him abt it, the poor kid with huge round glasses followed you with his huge green eyes for weeks, he seems to be the only one who's really realized ur the one convincing Snape to mellow out)
U begin researching information (thanks to Snape) in the forbidden part of the library abt different worlds/time travel, anything thatd put u close to possibly getting back home
Or, to be honest, a portal would be better, bc youd like to come back here sometimes,
Its not like u have family back home (not any who you'd want to visit), mostly just a few good friends who'd be worried abt u (Childe misses his sparring partner for sure)
Which then leads u to noticing that boy with the black hair and big round glasses (was it smth like,,, harold sculptor? Atp that seems like a feasible name to you bc in this world parents rlly were cruel abt naming their kid “feathery” or smth wild)
Harold and two others, one with fluffy long hair, and the other a redhead,
Were attempting to “spy” on u from behind bookshelves or at tables seated near the forbidden section
U saw them learn the times u came there and how they made sure to match them (tho it seems the redhead got bored easily and begged to eat instead)
You'd actually managed to make friends with some Durmstrang friends in the meantime too
And by that u mean Viktor Krum mostly
Ppl were constantly obsessed with him and he'd managed to escape up the astronomy tower to get some peace and quiet,
Only to run into u reading away, and he'd heard abt ur reputation, and wanted to befriend u
U two got along rlly well, lots of peaceful silences, and chill convos, esp since u guys had some stuff in common
Mostly how ur both foreign to Hogwarts/this country and adjusting still
Anyway that is to say, Viktor teased u abt the ducklings following u around everywhere thinking they were sneaky
And this was a routine u got used to, until it was time for the tournament
You hadnt bothered to put ur name in, u didnt feel like risking ur life for no reason afterall
So needless to say u were pissed when rumors went around abt u putting Harol- Harry's name in the goblet
(u finally learned his name, apparently he's famous for not dying? As a baby?? A powerful tyrant evil wizard wanted to kill him as a baby??? Just,, why)
Not only that but then he was obligated to be in the tournament???
U knew there was smth insane abt this school, bringing back this crazy tournament in the first place, somehow getting Harry's name in the goblet,
but u didn't think they were batshit crazy.
(Dumbledore is not helping his case in your eyes, esp as u suspect he’s got Snape involved in his BS too somehow…)
So needless to say you were going to fix this mess since these seasoned “wizard adults” weren't 😒
You snuck into the Great Hall using a high level alchemy invisibility amulet, and used ur Cryo vision to extinguish the Goblet of Fire 💀
It reset the game, and luckily they were able to resubmit the champions to the Triwizard Tournament and hide away the Goblet before it got tampered with again
Lol u got Harry out of it, and it wasnt until later in the library that u get cornered by the Gryffindor fourth year himself
He admits to seeing u under his invisibilty cloak that night and thanks you for getting him out of that hell, poor kid looks so grateful 😭
But regardless of that, he insists u tell him abt the ice spell u used, how u used it wandless, with no incantation, etc.
You just gave him a small smile (his big green eyes look even more shocked behind the glasses, what, was that old professor right? do u rlly not smile that much?) and tell him he owes u one
He agrees and u go on ur way to the forbidden section
(U dont explain the ice, afterall, who would believe him? You werent even that much older, and only “master wizards” could do what u did)
After that, Harry starts to follow u around a lot more,
much to the annoyance of his redhead friend (Rodrick? Rocky? smth with a R-) and the absolute admiration of the younger girl with big hair
the champions start the first trial, and u help Viktor out with a plan to defeat the dragon and get the egg in one piece (u had lots of experience with monsters after all, and Viktor and Snape, who couldn't keep his big nose out of your business, were simultaneously disturbed and yet not surprised by this information)
it works flawlessly, and that's when you notice the new DA teacher acting suspicious
as the champions gear up for the 2nd trial, u help Viktor try to figure out the egg’s secrets,
Both Harry and Hermione have taken to interrupting ur library research time (u finally learned her name, but not the redhead, he seemed a bit rude tbh so u don't care to know)
after brainstorming (well more like talking at the brick wall that was Snape) with the old potions professor over tea gossip time again, u finally figure out how to get the egg open without screaming, and tell Viktor
Who thanks u by taking u to the Yule Ball, but u only manage the first dance before u get absorbed in the food and the cool decor, and u also convince him to gossip with u in the corner too
(u do appreciate having a reason to dress up at least, as you attempt to imitate the Tsaritsa herself with this dress)
U notice further on into the night that Hermione ran out looking upset, and ur “girl’s girl” instinct kicks in, (regardless of ur neutrality for her, u lie to urself) and follow her outside to comfort her
u talk, and tho ur cold demanour did intimidate her a little, after she realized u were genuinely trying to help her, she took u up on the offer, and asked if u two could be friends since she’s “surrounded by stupid Gryffindor boys all the time”
u agreed amused, and convinced her to join Viktor and u in ur gossip session, which Harry (after humiliating himself on the dance floor), joined in later as well
(You may or may not have iced the floor secretly under the redhead’s and the equally annoying prissy Slytherin blonde’s feet, sending them sprawling on top of each other, so neither would come bother u four)
Over the next week you hear from Hermione’s researching/studying sessions with you that Ron did apologize to her, of which u advised her to get revenge on him anyway lmao
Harry at one point came groaning and complaining to you abt Cedric bothering him abt the egg problem, and u went ahead and gave it to him
Finally the next task was here, something abt rescuing smth underwater that mattered to each of the champions
u were immediately on ur guard when Dumbledore called u and 3 other seemingly random ppl to ur office (but u began to connect the dots after realizing one of them was the little sister of the Fontai- French Champion)
only to deflect the spell that would've knocked u out, and instead pretend to be knocked out
u obv kept ur Vision on u at all times, as always, and realized what was happening as the teachers levitated u all out to the lake
Snape snapped about being the one in charge of you, (and lowkey told u he knew u were awake, did he sound a little,, proud?? no, not Snape surely of all ppl)
Viktor did end up fishing you out, which he said u “looked like a very unhappy drenched old tom cat” while swimming to shore, (u awkwardly pat him on the back for thinking ur the best part of Hogwarts, and then smacked him for getting u kidnapped to go into a freezing lake)
and u also ended up helping Viktor rescue the other girl left behind, and froze some of the mermaids’ tails in the water for their trouble
Fleur was so grateful that she came to hunt you (and Viktor too at the time) for helping her and her sister that she came to thank u two again while at the library
which then led to her sometimes hanging around ur table at the library (everyone avoids it like the plague initially bc of you, but now youve got a gaggle of wizards rotating out all the time, like the younger years Harry/Hermione/Ron, Viktor, and now Fleur)
by the time the third trial rolls around, youve taken to bullying the prissy blonde brat a year below you to keep him from not only bothering Harry and Hermione, but also ur own peace and quiet
The other Slytherins are beginning to warm up to you, or at least not actively ignore you, since you’ve been hanging around Viktor Krum, along with gaining favor from Snape more obviously (he’d plopped a singular towel in ur lap after getting out of the lake, and u might as well have “Snape’s Favorite” written across ur forehead for all that means)
(also some of them may or may not find u roasting the annoying blonde bully kid amusing too)
it isn't until u see the creepy retired Aura (or whatever they call their knights) DA professor milling about the castle more, nearer the Gryffindor tower, that you begin to warn Harry to spread the word among his little lion club to not travel alone, esp in the evenings
(u don't like how his weird rolling blue eye looks thru you, it reminds u of Dumbledore)
by the time the third trial is finally announced, you have ur sights set on that weird old man, and end up following him to his classroom at one point,
in which he cracks open a rattling trunk, tosses some food in, and seems to have definitely stolen what you assume to be the Triwizard trophy
he casts a spell on it, and you put on that same invisibiltiy amulet from alchemy to better follow him, and watch him sneak into Dumbledore’s office to return the trophy
(You break the “portkey” spell you find on it)
(you also leave a note behind on the headmaster’s desk to look into a trunk in the new DA professor’s classroom storage, and to be more careful hiring the next one.)
Harry somehow gets sucked into the maze you find out, and you end up sneaking in to save him, using your sword and Cryo Vision to battle him out
(finally, Archons, you didnt realize how much you'd miss fighting monsters)
Aurors descend upon Hogwarts, only just after the trial ends, and Viktor wins (you trained him too well for him to not, and may or may not have viciously sparred with him a little too much for him to not be a little afraid of the consequences of losing after you helped him so much lol)
Just as Harry is taken in by Dumbledore for questioning of how he got trapped in the maze, he runs back to nearly squeeze the life out of you in a hug, he tells you thanks for helping him again (and forced u to promise to teach him sword fighting or “ice magic”)
Then, surprisingly, the entirety of Durmstrang (and some Slytherins??) haul you up into the air with Viktor to celebrate his victory
(You can see Snape snickering at ur misery in the air)
Viktor and Fleur stay penpals, and the “golden trio” (more like “gryffindor triplets”) sticks around your library table
and you think you could start to get used to this, and Harry, Hermione, and Snape had gotten you a Yule/winter gift
(what’s Christmas. and why is everyone obsessed with decorating trees??)
…that is until Hermione looks over your shoulder one day at your usual reading table, and points to a book you’ve chosen for research,
saying “if you need to make a portal somewhere, that’s the book you should be looking in.”
i hope you liked it!! and that it wasn't too much of a clusterfuck/chaos that was barely readable 😅
again, thanks for being patient with me, and here's finally ur payment for dealing with my ass lmao
Happy late new year!!
Safe Travels Kirarisastay,

any chance of a part 2 of opportunities arisen? perhaps tighnari finds out who we are? or someone else comes after us? 👉👈 i love him sm and ur characterization of him is perfect, that fic is 100% canon in my mind for every imposter au now
prime fortune
a/n: hope this one didn’t absolutely destroy your expectations anon. it took a hard left turn halfway through and i couldn’t bring it back—
word count: 3.1k oh wow-
-> warnings: minor spoilers for sumeru archon quest (3.0-3.2), dubious medical facts that you should not follow, likely ooc cyno, excessive use of the word ‘something’ with little reasoning to show for it, cyno’s excellent humor

adapting to life in the forest was easier said than done.
you’re often paired with collei, who’s in the middle of a bad eleazar flare that keeps her confined to the village, and though she teaches you the different salves and plants, a lot of it goes over your head.
you’re interested, you are! the liveliness with which she speaks, and the animated gestures from tighnari as he explains proper safety when preparing medicine easily capture your attention, but when she hands you two mushrooms and asks her to tell you which one is morchella….
by some strange luck, you often guess correctly, your intuition knowing more than you do, but when she nods with a smile and asks you to repeat the differences…
your mind falls blank.
something about the density of the fibers inside the mushroom floats through your mind, but you can’t remember whether the true or false mushroom is heavier.
collei’s smile falters, and yours turns sheepish. when she takes you out on walks, slowly walking up the paths so you don’t strain your ankle, you can point at the differences between portobello and death caps, you can pick out holly and honeysuckle and marigold, but here…
you pass the field practice with flying colors, but your basic by-the-books forest ranger tests always end in failure.
tighnari picks out two plants from a small case, holding them up in front of you.
“you come across amir sitting just off the side of a path, clutching his stomach. after some questioning, you determine he has a stomach cramp from dehydration, and spot these two plants nearby. you’re about a 15 minute walk from the village; what do you do?”
one of the plants has many flat white flowers blooming from the top, with yellow centers, while the other has orange petals that form a ball shape on top. you know one of them is yarrow, but not which one…
you pick the latter on a whim, spinning it between two fingers as you think. “pick the petals and crush them into a paste, taking care not to overwork them. give him about a spoonful, which should be most of it, then help him up. report to shirin once we return.”
the blank mask on his face falls into confusion. “how do you even mix up marigold and yarrow?” he asks, picking the flower—marigold, you now recognize—from your hand. “you got the procedure correct, at least, but marigold is bitter and will only worsen his aches. oh, and additionally, the leaves of yarrow—however small they-“
the door to the cottage slams open, jars rattling on their shelves, and tighnari whips around to face whoever it is, one hand steadying a stack of reports.
“and just what do you think you’re- w- collei? is everything alright?”
collei’s violet eyes were wide, her shoulders heaving with breath, when she spoke, exhaustion was evident. “m-master tighnari! the matra are here on behalf of the akademiya! i tried to tell them to wait so i could get you but they just-..”
emotions flashed over tighnari’s face faster than you could catch, eventually setting on a sharp determination. “alright collei, calm down. go find amir and do your best to delay them, but don’t seem too suspiscious, okay? just remember what we planned, i’ll take care of things here.”
her eyes flicked to you, worry evident, but she quickly turned away.
the moment the door closed, you and tighnari sprung into action. he collected the plants from your test and tucked them into their proper places, you standing to help return a mint plant back to its place.
he caught your wrist, taking the pot. “don’t. take your bag and go, don’t worry about this.”
you hesitate for longer than you should, then nod. he lets you go and returns to his case, and you move to crouch by the bed. feeling under it, your hand eventually brushes against a cloth handle, which you grab. you take a step to unlatch the window with one hand and sling the pack over your shoulder with the other, leaving with your good leg first. as you carefully close the window behind you, you can see tighnari moving to hide all the notes you’d taken, the only sign of his worry being his tail lashing behind him and the slightest flick of his ears.
with a soft smile, you turn away.
Tumblr media
tighnari checked over his room once more, ensuring that every trace of your presence was scrubbed clean. your laundry was out and mixed with the rest of the rangers’, but your notes and records were carefully hidden under patrol logs and his own personal binders. he knew everything was tucked away, he had explanations lined up and answers to every conceivable question the akademiya could have, but his heart still beat frantically against his ribs. even as he pulled apart and neatened up a stack of patrol logs, repeating the action to look like he was doing something whenever the matra came to his hut, he couldn’t shake the feeling that he missed something crucial.
he had to fight to keep his tail from betraying his emotions, the energy not going into mussing up and then fixing the papers spent on hiding the symptoms of his distress. he knew he didn’t miss anything. the moment you told them the sages were on active lookout for you and he knew you weren’t a threat, he had memorized the plan. he was foolish to worry.
he hasn’t known you for long, barely over half a year, yet his mind is clouded with the same worry as when collei collapses out on patrol. the same numbing sort of adrenaline, the icy feeling in his bones even as his skin starts to burn up, the apprehension in every movement, as if at any moment-
somebody knocks on the door.
tighnari takes a steadying breath and fusses with the papers a final time. “come in!”
the door creaks open and he taps the papers on the table, turning slightly to speak over his shoulder. “sorry, you caught me in the middle of something.”
“no matter,” a familiar voice says, and he can’t stop the way his body freezes at the speaker.
he carefully tucked the papers into a folder, finally turning around. “general mahamatra. to what do i owe the honor?”
cyno crossed his arms, red eyes surveying the room. “oh, nothing at all. just somebody from vimara village reporting somebody that looked suspiciously like the primo fortuna walking around with collei when they’re supposed to be in liyue.”
tighnari stares. the primo fortuna…? he thought they were after you, but you couldn’t be…
“are… are you suggesting somebody is attempting to imitate the creator?”
sure, he wouldn’t deny you shared some features—you had the same shape of nose, you were around the same height and build—but for you to be the creator? no, it wasn’t possible. your eyes were much kinder, you stopped and helped nasrin when she couldn’t find the proper forms, you directed shirin to the area of the forest where you and collei found nilotpala lotuses, you were nothing like the creator he saw at pardis dhyai. you didn’t stare with glazed eyes as padisarahs and sumeru roses were brought forth, you listened in earnest when he spoke about the differences between the various kinds of ferns.
if anybody were to meet you, they’d know in an instant you were not the creator.
his heart itched within his chest. he ignored it as worry.
“that’s exactly what i’m implying. as i’m certain you know, their identity is hallowed, and anybody attempting to infringe upon it needs to meet justice.” the golden eye on his headpiece flashed, the sides beginning to narrow into eyes before he shook his head and it passed. “but in truth, that is not why i am here.”
tighnari stared. despite having a fondness for jokes, cyno was never one to laugh about his duties. “what do you mean? collei told me you were here on behalf of the akademiya.”
“the matra are here on behalf of the sages,” he clarified. “i… i am here for other reasons. personal ones.”
his eyes flicked around the room again, and tighnari’s narrowed. “well, don’t hide behind double meanings, then. what is it?”
cyno’s jaw flexed as he chewed at nothing, his arms uncrossing. his eyes focused somewhere around the bed, and he seemed lost in thought. whatever it was, it had to be a big deal, but for him to hijack the matra’s arrival instead of coming on his own time…
“the one on the throne is not our god.”
he said it with such conviction that tighnari found himself agreeing, waiting for whatever had gotten him worked up, and it was only when cyno’s eyes closed as he braced himself that it registered what he said.
“what?”
“i have gathered evidence across many sources, both academic and religious, common and exclusive, and i can’t bring myself to kneel at their feet any longer. i have been ignoring my own mind for too long for the sake of my conscience, and i am confiding in you now what has been brewing in my mind for months.”
in the silence that stretched, tighnari almost wished he hadn’t spoken.
the way he spoke, from his words to his tone, reminded tighnari of when he reported to the sages, like he wasn’t tighnari to him and was instead an authority.
“cyno, i don’t.. is this why you didn’t go when they were at pardis dhyai or sumeru city?”
he nodded. “i can’t be in a place where they’re being worshipped when i’m so conflicted. i thought about pulling you aside in the city, but…”
tighnari didn’t think he’d ever seen cyno so meek in his words, none of his normal power behind it. he’s… tired, a quality he knows he’s felt but has never seen on him, the almost nervous way he keeps glancing around the room edging on alarming.
“alright.. uh, moving past that for a moment, what does that have to do with why you’re in gandharva ville? wouldn’t you want to not be involved?”
cyno’s eyes dragged from where they were locked behind him with uncharacteristic slowness. “the person you’re hiding may be the real creator.”
the simplicity to his words had tighnari believing it, even as it didn’t fully register in his mind. he knew cyno attached a religious aspect to his work, to the point the people in sumeru city sometimes calling him an extension of their judgement—even as it was more like the akademiya’s, most time—so he knew that whatever he said on the topic was both well thought out and reliable.
which is why he was silent even after it clicked.
“what are you saying, cyno?”
“they’ve been staying here, haven’t they? in this room?”
“this is my and collei’s-“
“don’t tell me you haven’t been able to feel the difference in the air? the way it seems to flow slowly, lingering, like it has something to wait for? there’s no heavy blankets on the bed, and yet everybody else is talking of how cold the weather’s been lately.”
“that’s because this is an insulated room, and we’re right up against a cliff.”
the quick pace to his heart was back, this time less of worry and more of confusion. you couldn’t be the creator, not when you bore so little resemblance to the one on the throne. you were good at what you did, plants thriving under your care even if you forget to water them. call him selfish, but tighnari almost wished the creator could go back to wherever they’d been, since they’d been much kinder there, both to their vessels and the world.
you weren’t them. they weren’t even close to being you.
“you’re considering it.”
he crossed his arms, forcing himself to still. “i’ll admit—not that you didn’t already know it—that we have taken a refugee into the village, one the sages might call a criminal-“
“that’s not what i mean, tighnari, and you know it.”
“can you give me a minute? you can’t just drop a massive load of information on me like that and expect me to continue like it didn’t happen!”
“you’re reacting oddly.”
“well of course i am, you’re telling me the same person i took in and sheltered from your bosses is somebody you want to take away back to them, and that’s not even covering their injuries- they’ve barely been able to walk outside of the village, and you want to take them to the city?”
“when did i say anything about the sages?”
tighnari stopped, his chest heaving. his hands froze mid-air, his tail still flicking in a mix of irritation and stress, thoughts moving quicker than he could understand them.
“what?”
“i never said anything about the sages. i never said i would take them.”
“w- well it’s implied, if not in your words then-“
“i don’t deal in implications. you know this.”
he did.
he knew cyno. he knew how he spoke and acted, he knew that the small emotion in his eyes was indicative of empathy and not ruthless justice. he knew he held reasoning in high standards, he knew that if he stopped and thought about the words coming from his mouth then he would agree.
but he couldn’t think.
all of his usual composure had faltered and faded, leaving him grasping for a hold as his thoughts swam like a raging river around him, even standing a struggle amidst the tide. all he could do was watch, his head racing and hands shaking, as cyno stood on the bank of rationality, with his crossed arms and cool eyes that dared him to step forward and sink beneath the waves.
he had no real reason to fear so much for you. by now you were gone, by now you were safe and far past the statue of the seven by the chasm, hidden in a place where even cyno would struggle to find you. you were crafty, clever, and you had more than enough supplies to last until he could go to find you.
he had no reason to be afraid.
yet his heart still raced a rhythm he couldn’t follow, his mind tripping and skipping with worry.
why?
his tail wrapped around his side and he picked out a cluster of petals from it, mostly just to give his hands something to do.
as he did, he noticed it was a full flower, likely knocked off one of the samples on the desk. it was small, blue, with smooth petals, and he recognized it after a moment’s pause.
“this is a hydrangea. what is it used for?”
the flower quivered in your shaking hands. “root and stem are for… for medicine. petals are tea.”
collei nodded, smiling brightly. “exactly! you’re a quick learner, aren’t you?”
you smiled sheepishly, trying to hand her back the flower, but collei held up a hand, closing her pack with her other hand.
“no, you keep it. take it as a congratulations for all your progress!”
you were hesitant to accept it, that much was clear, and tighnari tied off the small parcel in his hands before speaking.
“you really have done well. you’ve only been here for a few weeks, but you’ve learned a lot.” he set down the packed herbs beside where he was leaning on the table, directing all of his attention to you. “i know it’s mostly for safety, and you’re not going to be a ranger-“ too much paperwork was required, he couldn’t risk it “-but still. i’m proud of you.”
you smiled.
it likely wasn’t the same flower—that ‘class’ was months ago, now—but it dragged a realization to the surface of his mind.
in the short, fleeting time he’d known you, he had come to care for you as he did collei.
even then, only after a week or two of you being there, a certain fondness had taken root in his chest. something bright, something that bloomed like a rose yet without any of the thorns. something that he watered every time you winced when you walked, something you fostered when you helped treat collei’s eleazar when he was out clearing a withering zone.
something that grew as he realized the poultice you had made had helped clear the pain faster than anything he’d made, even as you both used the same recipe, something that lashed out when kamran questioned your place in the village. something that spurred him to action when he thought you were in trouble, even if it was only cyno.
something that burned bright, something hot that blurred his reasoning even when he knew it was wrong, something that made him want to bare his teeth and keep you safe by his side.
something that should be impossible for him to feel towards you, as it was a golden and warm feeling that did not exist in teyvat, only ever glimpsed at altars.
tighnari looked up from the flower and into cyno’s knowing eyes.
“alright.”
relief washed onto his face, a small nod the only other sign that he’d heard.
“i’ll report nothing to the team—i trust you’ve gone over this, given your reaction?”
he let the comment slide. “yes, everybody here knows what to do in the case of the akademiya or the millelith coming here. it was collei’s idea, actually, and she took care to make sure that everybody had it memorized.”
cyno nodded, taking a step towards the door. “good. and if you ever need to collei matra, just get me instead.”
“…”
“do you get-?”
“i got it, cyno.”

i know we're one archon off just enough to make the eight gym leaders in a pokemon au, but consider another approach: the archons as champions ft. some story ideas, i put a concerning amount of thought into this --
mondstadt champion venti (flying • fairy) is fought in secret, since no one can guess he's the champion. the mondstadt elite four are eula (ice • dark), klee (fire • fairy), jean (flying • grass) and finally diluc (fire • flying). venti is friends with celebi - as is nahida - and istaroth manifests as dialga. albedo is kind of like the professor for mondstadt, sucrose gives you your pokedex :] durin is yveltal. dvalin is rayquaza. no one knows about it, but kaeya is friends with articuno.
rhinedottir explores the abyss which is basically the genshin equivalent of the distortion world headed by giratina, aided by her signature hydreigon. dragonspine is our mt silver lol. alice has a delphox (klee has a fennekin) and mismagius. barbeloth, of the hexenzirkel, has a xatu. albedo has a garchomp. for some reason, i picture nicole with hatterene. mona has a cosmog!
zhongli is similar (rock • dragon). the order is hu tao (fire • ghost), yelan (water • dark), ganyu (ice • fairy) and finally xiao (flying • dark). childe boss, but he has like three typings - (water • dark)/(electric • dark)/(electric • water). he has a wailord and probably attempts to fight kyogre with his bare hands in fontaine. oh and his foul legacy is from palkia. the adepti are like pokemon rangers btw! and guizhong, after her death, appears also as a cosmog maybe? xiao has an absol, ganyu has suicune, hu tao has trevenant and spiritomb. azhdaha is groudon guys i'm sorry. ningguang is our professor archetype for liyue, and the pokedex is delivered by keqing on the orders of ningguang.
inazuma has two champions - one as the raiden shogun puppet (electric • steel), and one as ei herself (electric • fighting). ayaka (ice • steel), then kazuha (flying • steel) - but he gets exiled, and is replaced by ayato (water • steel). followed by kokomi (water • dragon), and finally yae miko (electric • fairy). yae miko has ninetales and zoroark, kokomi has milotic and nihilego! yes i know that's an ultra beast shhh. professor trope is yae miko, and you have to smuggle your confiscated pokedex with yoimiya and sayu's help.
sumeru champion nahida (grass • psychic), who is heeded by wanderer (flying • dark) as her deputy. wanderer is like n from pkmnbw, you fight him instead of the champion, the pseudo-champion. btw his signature would be a mega evolving banette. the first elite four member is dehya (fighting • fire), followed by cyno (electric • dark), then nilou (water • grass) who was recently appointed! and finally alhaitham (grass • flying). nilou's position used to be tighnari's (grass • poison) but since he left the akademiya, nilou took it. dehya has a female pyroar, nilou has lilligant. nahida and venti are familiars to celebi and the two formes of shaymin! rukkhadevata manifests as xerneas. apep is zygarde lol. token professor looks to be tighnari, but is really just nahida, and collei gives it to you.
for fontaine, i imagine furina (water • fairy) as the champion who sacrifices her position - and her life - so there's no seat of champion left. she later adopts the (water • dark) typing. the fontaine elite four is fought in this order: navia (rock • dark), wriothesley (ice • fighting), clorinde (electric • steel), and finally neuvillette himself (water • dragon OBVIOUSLY). alternatively, neuvillette assumes champion position and his seat as last member of elite four is supplanted by arlecchino (fire • dark)! neuvillette has a dragonair and is a familiar to kyogre, furina has lapras and manaphy/phione, arlecchino has a houndoom. additionally, lyney (fire • dark), lynette (flying • dark) and freminet (ice • steel) fight for arlecchino. ooh but imagine if they get ahold of latios and latias somehow, and use those to fight you! their signatures are gardevoir (lyney) and gallade (lynette) other than a pair of meowstic, and freminet has an empoleon as well as an espurr. sigewinne has a signature azumarill, and she's the professor! the pokedex you were meant to receive falls in the water, so freminet fishes it out for you.

Dream a Little Dream of Me - XI
Tumblr media
Celestia has a cruel sense of humor. He’s always known this, ever since his days as a student. But a soulmate? Really? Dottore/Female Reader Soulmate AU. Expect lore speculation, interpretations, etc. Available on AO3 as well.
The adrenaline from the fight, if you could call it that, wore off by the time you rode the elevator back down and entered the House of Daena again.  For years, you’d wondered what, precisely, your soulmate looked like, who they might be.  The shock itself still hadn’t worn off, although its edge had considerably dulled from earlier.
Ten minutes hadn’t yielded more than a title and enough details to glean that he wouldn’t be in Sumeru for longer than necessary.  Neither would you, unless things changed; after everything with the Akademiya was finished, you would go to Port Ormos for a few days before sailing over to Liyue, and then onto Mondstadt after that.
Time would be limited for any in-person interactions, if they happened again at all.  Considering the first thing the Doctor did was try to shoot you, maybe that was for the best.  Arrogant, critical, and yet…
You reached up and felt your ear again, the hair he pushed back still in place.  You couldn’t quite make sense of it, of him.  So much for answers.
Making your way through the Akademiya and back outside, back to the inn, was simultaneously the shortest and longest walk of your life.  Your mind was elsewhere, swirling around on the notion that while yes, your soulmate was clever and handsome, he was still one of the Fatui Harbingers.  Some might literally kill for such a position.
You only knew him as he presented himself to you in the dreams.  No pretenses, no titles, no important political influence.  Just yourselves.
As many times as you tried to tell yourself it didn’t matter, it did.
Your thoughts were nothing more than a ball of yarn, tangled by a mischievous kitten.  They were so tangled that you almost bumped into a stranger when you heard your name being called by your colleagues, who were sitting at a cafe you passed on Treasures Street.  Embarrassed, you apologized profusely and maneuvered out of the way.  You were in no headspace to socialize, not right now, but if you didn’t, explaining your absence would be even harder.  Quickly, you wove together an excuse of shock at the notion of a Fatui Harbinger and you hadn’t been able to breathe properly, given the archival filtration of the air.
“They do keep the air pretty thin in the library,” one of them commiserated.  “I guess all of the students are used to it.  You’re out now, surrounded by plants, you’ll feel better in no time.”
If anyone noticed your lack of Akasha, no one said anything.  You were thankful for that, at least.  The sunlight and the food and the familiar faces did, to some extent, actually help.
Tonight would be a different story.  Assuming you dreamed.  There hadn’t been time for anything else; at least in a dream, you couldn’t be overheard.
_______________________
Entering a dream never involved a true beginning.  Rather, it was a moment akin to waking in the middle of a scene, as though you’d fallen asleep during a moving film.  The dreamscape was typically defined by whoever arrived first.  You found yourself in front of a large set of windows, overlooking a snowy landscape you only ever saw in paintings.
Not that you could actually see much of the landscape, actually.  You squinted.  Was this a…what was the word…a blizzard?
Normally, the dreamscapes your soulmate created were extraordinary; a play on both his memories and the boundaries he loved to push.  Despite being a scholar, many of them were outdoors, often with the sky above filled with countless stars that seemed to move of their own accord.  Weather was sometimes based on the mood of the dreamer but also their physical condition, to some extent.
The wind howled in the distance, white powder swirling across jagged peaks, unafraid of the mountains and the trees.  You swore for a moment that it did, truly, sound like a voice.  Multiple voices, overlapping one another.  Familiar and yet…
No, that was definitely…
You frowned and turned around to take in the rest of the room.  The walls were covered in bookshelves, neatly kept.  A fireplace sat across the room, crackling quietly and providing some illusion of warmth.  In reality, you imagined that a space like this would rely on radiators or perhaps forced air, warmed and pushed through floor vents or some such.  The ceiling was made of the same light stone used on the walls but arranged in geometric patterns that made you dizzy the longer you looked up at them.  Beneath your feet, polished stone peaked out from beneath faded blue carpets filled with intricate, mesmerizing arrangements.
The center of the room held two sofas, facing one another across a coffee table, an armchair on either end enclosing the space.
Your soulmate was sitting in one such armchair with his booted feet pressed against the edge of the coffee table to prop up a series of papers.  The Doctor was free of the lab coat and mantle, instead wearing a deep blue shirt that was almost the same shade as his cravat.  The necktie barely hid a choker that you now realized led to a leather harness that encircled his torso once at his chest, and again at his waist.
The mask was still in place.  You expected nothing less, all things considered.  After all, you had no facial features for your subconscious to give him.  But he was no longer a vague shape and you would take your victories where you could.
He didn’t incline his head or even take note of you as you approached, as if enraptured by the details of the papers he held.  The wind picked up again, almost shrieking this time, carrying with it an angry sentiment far too distinct to be anything else.  Another gust followed, quieter, and when you turned to gaze out the window again, the snow seemed to have calmed into a soft dusting, like powdered sugar over almond crescent cookies.
You reached out a hand to touch his shoulder but stopped, fingers curling in hesitation.  It was a gesture you wouldn’t have thought twice about before but now…?  Especially when he might be mid-thought?
He’d touched your ear and your hair but that…that had been different, full of purpose.
And wasn’t this?  You hardly wanted to scare him, especially after the encounter earlier.
Before you could, however, the Doctor’s head turned towards you slightly, and then tilted up and to the side.  You pulled your hand away, flexing your fingers to get rid of the stiff feeling in your joints.
“This is new,” you said, breaking your eyes away from his mask to gesture about the room before you wandered over to the bookshelves behind him..
You noticed a small machine-like figurine tucked away into a corner.  It resembled some of the toys you saw in Fontaine, except it was too well-kept, and possibly made of a different material.  The name of the character escaped you but it seemed a fitting addition nestled amongst the books.
“You said you had questions, which is understandable.  I may withhold information for your safety,” the Doctor stated.  You heard the rustle of paper, the squeak of leather, along with soft footfalls before you felt his presence next to you.  “But I am otherwise forthright.  A scholar stands to gain nothing without the truth.”
“I’ve always appreciated your candor,” you replied, looking at him again.  “It never seemed like anything else.”
His gaze seemed to burn holes into you despite the mask between you and your stomach flipped.  You wondered, if only for a moment, if you would ever see his eyes again.  If you would ever stare into the depths of who he truly was.
That would be the end of you; of that, you were certain.
He broke away this time, his face turned towards the books, their spines worn and well-loved.
“This is a reconstruction of my rooms in Snezhnaya.  I hardly use them but if I must be outside of my lab, this is…a preferable space.”
You turned from the shelf and looked again, finally recognizing certain motifs and patterns with ease.  It was a skill honed with sheet music, connections becoming apparent as you spotted them.  The carpets were not unlike the ones you saw at the market the other day, the wood of the bookshelves far too similar to that used for your rented room’s bed frame.
Sometimes, your mind changed a few details without you knowing, the original idea long since lost, but the dream felt…solid, well-framed.  You moved about the space, surprised to find that the closer you drew to the fireplace, the warmer you felt.
“You’re from Sumeru?” you guessed.  “Or is it just our location influencing designs again?”
“My homeland was never kind to me but I would be amiss to say that I do not enjoy parts of it.  We pick and choose from our influences, discard what we don’t like.”
Well, it was something about him, you supposed.  But one question sat heavy in your mind, refusing to leave you alone.  You faced away from the fire, towards the Doctor.
“Why did you attack me first and foremost?  You anticipated me, knew I would follow you, but I…that doesn’t warrant…”
“Ah, that.”
His footfalls echoed through the space as he walked to the other end of the room, towards the windows.
“Mere curiosity.  All things considered, it’s important that anyone attached to someone of my standing be able to defend themselves.  There is…considerable room for improvement.  I’m sure you’ve already considered that your position is far more precarious if someone were to discover you have connections to a Fatui Harbinger.”
You pushed down a scoff, knowing deep down, he was right.  It was one thing when you were prepared.  But you hadn’t been.  Not that you could have done much, with how your hands ached from the other night.
“What rank are you, anyway?”
“It hardly matters.”
“It does to me,” you brought your hand to your chest.  “I think I have a right to know so no one can hold that over me.”
He sighed, and you caught the slight change in the angle of his head as he watched you through your reflection in the glass.  If he didn’t tell you, you’d probably be able to find out on your own, but it was preferable to hear it from him.
“Second.  That should give you some indication of why you, an allogene already with capabilities beyond the average person, not knowing how to fight is a problem .”
You didn’t know much about the Harbinger ranks themselves, admittedly.  Why would you?  It wasn’t something that came up otherwise in your day-to-day life and beyond the title itself, you learned little about the politics of other nations.  You only needed to recognize titles to know someone’s importance and where they stood in relation to others.
It bothered him, clearly.  When it was just you, it didn’t very much matter whether you scraped through a fight; you rarely had them anyway.
But it wasn’t just you anymore.  Even if nothing came of this bond but the dreams, it was still both of you…
You crossed the room slowly and the Doctor seemed to relax, only just, when you came up beside him.
“What do you propose, then?” you asked softly.
Once again, you heard the wind pick up, whipping the snow into a frenzy.  With it came the distinct sounds again, as if you were hearing a conversation, or perhaps an argument, behind closed doors.  It was unmistakable now, that the voices sounded like the man next to you.  Except he wasn’t talking.  You tore your eyes away from the window to find the Doctor’s jaw clenched; it only eased when the wind too died away, and he turned his head towards you slowly, as if dazed.
“I have a few loose ends to tidy up but it would be more appropriate, not to mention secure, for you to learn from me.  It would raise too many questions to hand the task over to someone else.”
You nodded in agreement, pushing away another question, not wanting to break the silence.  Instead, you rested a hand on his arm, the muscle instantly tensing beneath your touch before relaxing again.  He extended his arm in response, offering it hesitantly.  It reminded you of earlier that morning, when he’d reached out and touched your hair.
One hand found its way to his, now free of his gloves, while your other rested against his bicep, near another set of straps.  You’d touched one another before, just to explore corporeality and the limits of the dreams, but this was…hardly that.  It was strangely intimate, standing so close, fingers interwoven, watching an imaginary landscape.
Physical affection was, perhaps, not his strong suit; he must to some extent not mind it either, you considered, when you felt the way his fingers flexed in response to yours.
“Regardless of my stance on your combat abilities, I was impressed with your performance.  It is rare to see talented individuals truly embrace their craft.”
Heat crept up your neck at the memory of how you’d only thrown his words back at him.
“The piece I was working on was meant to be played here, when it was finished.  I used a lot of our conversations for inspiration.  It’s rough.  I overextended myself though, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to do this if we were awake.”  You squeezed his hand for emphasis.  “Even if I could have summoned my weapon, I don’t think I’d have been able to hold it.  I’d probably drop it on my foot and have bigger problems.”
You felt the laugh more than you heard it, amusement dancing on his lips.  “Composing on a cello seems to be quite challenging, almost counterproductive.  Not very conducive for larger pieces, certainly.”
“It’s forgivable for a solo piece, where that’s the instrument of focus.  If I’m working on a composition wider in scope, I’ll use a piano, but otherwise it’s…mostly inner ear, intuition…there’s logic and theory to it but it’s mostly…”
“Logic applied for the sake of eliciting an emotional reaction.”
“Concise but yes, essentially.”
“If what I overheard was only practice, then I look forward to the finished product.  You set my expectations quite high.”
The smile you saw when you looked towards him was, dare you consider it, soft.  It suited him, as much as his arrogant smirk did.  His whole face seemed to brighten, if only for a moment, and you willed your pulse to steady itself at the notion that you were both the cause of said smile and its intended recipient.
You awoke with your heart aching and your thoughts were, for the first time in days, as light as the sun streaming through your window.
It was a start.  Or at least, so you hoped.

I wanted to request something with haikaveh where people see in black&white and their vision gets blurrier and darker the more years go by, until they are completely devoid of sight. That is, until they set eyes on their soulmate.
Sso, it could be something like, the first time Kaveh sets eyes on Alhaitham or vice versa and their worlds explodes in color ehe~
I love your worksss!! ♥️

HELLOOO IM SO SORRY I FORGOT TO ANSWER UR REQUESTTT IM SO SORRY DEAR ANON 😞😞😞 BUT SIJNXIJNSOJNS THIS IDEA IS HONESTLY RLLY CUTEEE EHEHBEJNEE ANYWAY I HOPE U LIKE THISSSS PLEASE ENJOYYYY!!!

the world was monochrome. black and white. not a single hue of rainbow. people were in different shade of black to white.
5 years ago, kaveh and alhaitham were best friends. that is until they seperated paths in major. till then, he had never seen alhaitham anywhere. furthermore, he though al haitham already forgotten about him. until he received an unexpected mail from the akademia.
the sumeru akademiya invited him to work together with the akademia to design a mechanism for studies. he, ofcourse was pleasured to achieve this just as he was writing a mail back to the akademia, informing he’s free.
3 days later, he got ready for the collaboration and is on his was to the akademiya. while he was walking there, he overheard a small talk.
“did you know? the blacksmith has found his love life and he was clearly in joy when he saw colours!” “him? i’ve never thought he would find the right one this early… tell me more.” “someone said it was the fishing woman.. i mean i guess they do match.” “that’s not what i meant! i mean, tell me more about the colours!” “oh right right… he said flowers have different colours.. the sky is bright.. the ground are in different shades too! isn’t that awesome?” “that’s more than awesome! man.. wish i found the right one that fast.”
hearing the talk made kaveh daydream about being able to see bright and dark hues all over his vision. he had always ask his mom about the wonders of colours, but his mom didn’t tell him much. she only told him that fate will bring the perfect one for you when you’re already 17+. he thought about it, “why haven’t i find the right one yet?”. he didn’t know whether seeing colours or having the perfect one matters more.
he continued his walk to the akademiya and finally he arrived. he was greeted by the grand acting sage. “welcome, welcome. i’m sure you still remember this place” the grand acting sage gave out his hand for kaveh to shake it. “it’s a pleasure to be invited, i didn’t expect such a thing.” he accepted the grand acting sage’s hand and they both shook hands in delight. “come in, come in. we’ve been planning to see you. perhaps you could do a comeback?” the grand acting sage joked as they both laughed. “it would be an honour to.” kaveh was not kidding, it was like he got accepted to be in a high ranking or something!
“follow me, the rest are waiting for you.” kaveh followed the grand acting sage but the small walk leaded to something else.
he was walking beside the grand acting sage when all of the sudden “sorry to interrupt, the reports had some missing parts, if it’s not found by this dusk i couldn’t hand it out to the traveler” kaveh locked eyes with the person who had just appeared. those eyes seemed familiar. at that moment, his vision sparked with colours that he’d never seen before. there were hues and shades of different colours.
the same was happening to alhaitham too. his vision were blasted with colours. and as he was not usual or familiar with this, his eye stung and he had to itch it to see clearly. “well then, i’ll fetch some students to look for them. thankyou for informing.” the grand acting sage looked back at kaveh and alhaitham whose both seem to have a problem with their vision. “are you both alright?” alhaitham war still struggling a bit to see but when they both locked eyes again, it hit them. they were the perfect one, soulmates. “i’m fine, just had dusk in my eyes. farewell for now.” alhaitham rushed to try and see in his new vision.
kaveh was lost in thoughts, both in his vision and alhaitham, “was he really the one?” “theres so many shades of colours” “is this really it?” “i can’t describe how this feels..” “am i hallucinating?”. he was looking around the akademiya with colours surrounding him. “kaveh? kavehh?” he didn’t notice the grand acting sage was talking to him. but he shook his head and focused right then and there. “oh s-sorry. i was just.. lost in thoughts” kaveh scratched the back of his neck and looked down. “hm? what were you thinking of?” the grand acting sage looked at him curiously. kaveh didn’t know if he should tell the grand acting sage or not. but for now.. he decided to keep it as. secret. “nothing, i was just excited to what will come after this” the grand acting sage chuckled as they both continued to walk.
not even a minute, kaveh was welcomed in a room with a huge rectangle wooden table and some fancy wooden chair that is carved into a beautiful motif with pillows attached to the bottom and back (IF U GET WHAT I MEAN IT’S BASICALLY LIKE A THRONE). as he went inside the room, there were 5 people inside, 3 student and 2 grand acting sages.
“ahh if it isn’t our lovely architect!” “kaveh, kaveh! welcome in” “pleasure to meet you, sir” everyone stood upon their seats and bowed to the newly greeted kaveh. ofcourse, kaveh was excited to have this meeting. “go ahead and take a sit, i’ll be right back” the grand acting sage told him. so he sat next to another grand acting sage. then the meeting started and ended well. everything was going well. everyone thanked him for his presence today, and is looking forward to see him tomorrow again to make the mechanics.
just as he was about to exit the akademiya, he saw alhaitham standing by the gate. he knew they both needed to talk about something. “kaveh.. long time no see” alhaitham turned his back to face kaveh. “may i talk to you for a bit?” alhaitham seemed eager to talk about this problem. without any thoughts kaveh responded, “alhaitham! i was delighted to see you earlier. and ofcourse! i’d be willing to” kaveh got closer to alhaitham.
they were facing eachother but none of them was brave enough to talk. “i.. i think..” “did your vision change too?” kaveh asked alhaitham, wanting to know the truth. “yes. yes it did..” alhaitham looked into those red irises eyes. “i might need to say something to you, haitham. when i heard your voice.. i knew it was familiar. i was.. honestly please to see you again. i’ve been looking everywhere, i just.. want our old days back. but then my vision blasted with colours” kaveh tried to be as confident as he can but it was awkward to say all of the things in his heart. “i need to do a confession as well. i knew the grand sages were trying to give you a part here, i was.. wondering around the akademiya and trying to maybe catch a glimpse of you. i know this sounds cliche but honestly.. i’m glad fate brought us together” and at that moment, that was the very first time, kaveh saw alhaitham truthfully smiled after 5 years. 5 years of longing eachother.
“it’s nice to have someone back” kaveh smiled as he ruffled alhaitham’s hair just like back then. “who knew you were the one?” alhaitham ruffled kaveh’s hair back as they both joked around. “i thought i’ll be getting a pretty girl yknow” kaveh rolled his eyes jokingly. “but i’m glad.. i think fate really does know we’re meant for eachother huh?” kaveh looked at alhaitham whose staring at the now hued sunset. “i’m more than glad, as a scribe, i’ve never pass through a word that could describe how grateful i am for this” he closed his eyes, relaxed by the vibe. in the end, they both are happy with whatever this miracle was.

My muse: Tighnari Your muse: Cyno Shippy: ideally, yes please 🙏 platonic works too, though! Warnings: kidnapping/keeping someone imprisoned illegally for several years and resulting mistreatment (nothing se/xual); involuntary experiments
Rough outline: AU! Canon Genshin world as basis, however alternative character stories and a darker setting. Also smaller changes to characters’ abilities (specifically Tighnari); it’s up to you if you also want to change Cyno a bit! In essence Cyno is a young soldier of some kind (not related to the Akademiya [yet]), a mercenary, a guard - or just a strong young man in search for a position that allows him to make use of his abilities and make a living (up to you!). Through some channel (acquaintance, someone chatting him up in the street, etc) he is offered a (temporary) position as a guard to a scholar whose name he is somewhat familiar with. Research reveals that this man graduated many years ago and contributed many things to the Akademiya, he is well-known among scholars and working for him comes with a certain prestige. At present he is looking for guards to accompany he him on expeditions and/or protect his property and person (or something similar, these are just background info to give you an idea!). So Cyno accepts the position, especially since it is likely only temporary and pays well.
For a while things go well; he rarely sees the man but learns a lot about the impressive studies he conducts and the influence he has throughout Sumeru. His duties consist of fending off enemies and monsters on various occasions.. and guard a room in the man’s mansion that is locked at all times. Nobody goes in there except Cyno’s employer and nobody talks about what’s in there. It’s his study, is as much information as Cyno gets, but he quickly gets the impression that it’s not that simple. At one point they set off on a longer expedition, one that will take several weeks, and among several sumpter beasts loaded with equipment they bring with them a large wooden box, large enough to hold a spinokrok or something of that size. And Cyno does hear sounds from inside but when asking about it is told it contains one of the master’s objects of study and can’t be left behind in the house for as long as they’re gone.
He is strictly kept away from the box and told not to ask questions, but eventually decides to investigate because the whole thing is making his spidey senses tingle. Under the cover of night he sneaks up to the box, which *can* be opened to reveal a cage underneath, in which he discovers - you guessed it - Tighnari. A slightly malnourished, defensive and silent version of Tighari with longer hair, chain marks on his wrists and a solid magical looking choker aorund his neck. In this story Cyno has never seen anyone like him; a human with ears and tails like a fox?
The rest is written in the stars ✨
Lol, rough outline I say and then write 3 paragraphs. Anyway, it’s been on my mind :D

Has wanting to write a Sumeru Akademiya Diluc AU led to me trying to figure out when who was where in comparison to Diluc's age? Yes.
Am I satisfied with the results? No, but that's only because things won't work out in ways I would have liked.
Anyway I want to share my data points and result, so:
General:
This was made with information from 3.5. Read before Kaveh release.
Lisa studied two years on the advanced track. I am assuming that a "regular course length" is three years and all characters in question had the intelligence to only need these three years for their studies.
Also I'm kind of assuming the traveller is in Sumeru about a year after the story begins. That's just personal preference and the only thing this really effects is Tighnari's age and time as forest ranger (as well as Cynos time as General Mahamatra/Matra)
Also all of these events have a little wiggle room of about 1-2 years, although some can be "wiggled" less
Data Points for Tighnari and Cyno:
Tighnari was investigated by Cyno when he joined the Akademiya for being suspiciously well liked. This implies that either Matra trainees start their work while still studying, which I doubt, or that Cyno's first year as a Matra was Tighnari's first year at the Akademiya.
Tighnari:
When the traveller reaches Sumeru he has been a forest ranger for at least a year with the reputation he has gotten. (Must have graduated at Diluc's 22 years of age at latest)
Lisa (our great connection):
Studied two years
Came to Mondstadt when Kaeya was Cavalry Captain and Varka was still around. This leaves her finishing her studies within a two year span between Diluc's 18th year (Kaeya becomes Cavalry Captain) and his 20th, where Varka leaves (2 years before game start).
Lisa and Cyno in relation:
Lisa refers to Cyno as a senior, so he must have been both a student and at least a year into his studies when she arrives.
Lisa and Tighnari: Tighnari's voiceline about Lisa does not sound like they met. Therefore I will be assuming they did not study at the Akademiya at the same time. (He only knows of her through Cyno, and she was quite the living legend at the Akademiya, so he would have heard of her then and not through Cyno later)
Also this version of the timeline is made to give Cyno as much time as possible as an active Matra when Diluc turns 18 (I wanted to prove to my friend why Diluc would beat Cyno in a fight) (I'll put wiggle room behind events)
Cyno starts studying at Spantamad when Diluc is 14 (D14)
Lisa starts her studies 2 years laster (D16)
Cyno graduates and becomes a Matra the year after (D17)
Lisa graduates the next year (D18)
Tighnari Starts his studies (D19)
Cyno becomes the General Mahamatra somewhere between D20 and D22,
Tighnari graduates and becomes a forest watchers at D21
This entire construct in relation can be pushed back 1 year
Cynos studies can be pushed back 1 year (everything else can stay)
Or 2 years (rest of timeline moves one year back because Cyno->Lisa->Tighnari) (Cyno can't have started at the same time as Lisa, who was not at the Akademiya when Tighnari started)
Tumblr media
Cyno's Promotion time is pure and utter guessing game, couldn't find anything on it, so I just picked something I liked and it's there now.
Al Haitham and Kaveh are not on here because there is no possible point of reverence for either yet (although one could say that Kaveh consulted Tighnari for the flora around the palace of Alcazarzaray and has probably done so while they were in the Akademiya, so must have build that thing in the given three year period and... Yeah... That's like, not good enough, at all (especially because it's unclear to me whether he built it before or after graduation/it being his graduation work) and Kaveh is the only reference for Al Haitham (being a senior -> having started at least a years earlier))

Not a Dottore moment this time but man my brain sure is on a Collei kick recently.
Au Razor tl is the flavor today.
I'm starting to remember Collei's time in Mondstadt. I wasnt rly active in all the webcomic stuff, but I was a background observer. And I talked to Collei a few times- Mostly cause Mom (Lisa) scared the hell outta her. (I get it, alotta kids end up scared of her heh)
Moving on-
Collei didnt really talk back to me much- I wasnt rly used to having so much space to fill in a conversation. Normally I was the quieter one while Benny rambled on. She didnt seem to mind my rambling tho. She calmed down the first time we talked anyway (does it really count as a conversation when Im the only one talking? /hj). She was so scared of mom she was shaking BAD. I get it, she was in such a new and scary environment and seemed to only barely be comfortable with Amber. Of course the others were terrifying.
I'm glad I seemed to help at least- And she liked my tea so thats another win.
I'm not sure if we ever kept contact, or re-met later down the line. I'm positive she wouldnt have forgotten me tho. I did wish she had stuck around at the time. She seemed interesting and I was sure if she had warmed up to us, she would've fit right into the group (Benny, Fischl, and I). And I honestly think visiting Sumeru would have been a treat. I looked up to Cyno a lot already ,would've been cool to see him some more too. (he had visited mom a few times before assisting Collei since they were rather close friends) Though mom may have been too paranoid of me joining the Akademiya to allow that.
At least I know Collei made it to a better place, thats good. Its what she deserved after going through so much.
heh Maybe while my brain's on a "caring Collei" kick I'll finally get some answers for my Bennett tl. I've had hunches about her for months but nothings been expanded yet. (probably cause I dont shift him much hah) We'll see I guess, for now though its just Razor who's fought past Dottores overbearing feelings.
~Razor Minci 🕯♟ (Just as last time mpc, please just tag "Razorkin" for the kin tags, last name is a tl specific thing)

I LIVE!
i was so ready to leave genshin behind (bc you know i am a self-respecting brown asian person) but a friend insisted that i play through the archon quest bc they have thoughts and stuff to say and they needed someone to discuss them with.
surprisingly, i liked Act 2. and i liked Nahida. and some characters, i guess, but i was really scared for Nahida's characterization and the writer of Act 2 exceeded my expectations (granted, my expectations were in hell).
UNTIL ACT 3 OF COURSE SHAT ALL OVER THE BUILD-UP AND CHARACTERIZATION DONE IN ACT 2! OF FUCKING COURSE!
i, too, have so many thoughts and stuff to say and I'll probably post them here. so watch out for that. i'd probably start posting (yeah it will be a series of posts bc goddamn) this weekend.
if you have been following me for a while now, i did a kinda sorta beta-read of the Inazuma Act 3 last year. and i thought why not do that again for the Sumeru Arc too? so don't worry! the posts won't be about how white Sumeru is. a lot of people have already talked about that. i will be talking about the arc as a writer and editor.
also, i loved the Golden Slumber World Quest, man. I loved it. except for this one instance wc i will also talk about sometime.
in contrast, i hated the Aranyaka World Quest :D i'm still thinking about if i wanna be executed for hating on it. but man was that world quest so poorly paced. both in gameplay and story. also, it is useless in my eyes. the bit about the Abyss twin should have been an intermission chapter for the main storyline instead.
what should have been the main world quest for forest Sumeru, you ask? it should have focused more on the Akademiya. they should have humanized the scholars instead of making them cartoonishly evil (ANOTHER ONE? I KNOW!) bc listen man. smear campaigns and censorship are real things that real people do.
tbh this^ is my fave part about the Golden Slumber. Tirzad was a good way to see the product of the Akademiya's propaganda. BUT MAN WAS HE SO UNLIKEABLE.
imagine if we had that but instead we have someone who is likable and relatable? it will show the audience that sometimes, even though people are likable, they still can also be misguided.
ANYWAYS!
in another news:
i have updated the role-reversal zhongchi au! go check that out LOL imma do a different promo post for that but yeah
yeah that's about it. see you next time :D
