I literally saw someone say laios is too autistic for romance... you guys HAVE to start being respectful to autistic people. like I know he's just a character but its emblematic of real problems. Even if it's just a joke, it is NOT FUNNY to perpetuate ableism in the form of jokes. I see like a thousand posts a day about how he has autistic swag and in the SAME POST joke about how his friends actually hate him, nobody could REALLYYY like him they're all just pretending <3, he's too autistic for sex or romance or love.

He has canonical problems in the text with people pretending to be his friend, or people secretly hating him. We've gone over and over again about how divorcing autistic people and characters from sex and romance on the whole is infantilizing. (individual ace/aro headcanons are fine, but maybe also examine where they're coming from when its characters widely seen as autistic). I feel like a lot of fans don't even realize what they're doing. oftentimes what you think is funny fan content is actually you making fun of him and excluding him from things based on his autistic traits.

And this isn't even MENTIONING the racism in making kabru be aggressive to laios for no reason all the time when kabru has genuine reason and understanding even when he thinks he might need to kill laios. OR how weird it is that people will boil down falin's autistic traits for farcille and say like "yeah she's similar to laios, but she's less of a 'freak' (AKA has developed people pleasing social skills) so marcille likes her still :)"

I appreciate the added layers of Onewa and Vakama's conflict. Onewa is a teacher in the AU. Teachers are often authority figures to their students, authority some of them unfortunately abuse to harass or neglect the students they should care for.

I have no idea how much the other Toa Metru / turaga know about Vakama's life before Kini Nui. And Vakama's not Onewa's student. But I think it would burn Onewa to discover that he's just another notch in a row of people who harassed and dismissed him for somethhing he has no control over, ever since he was a child. Maybe he did discover some of it in the AU.

The others don't generally know all that much about Vakama's pre-Toa life because he's a fairly private person who doesn't share much about that kind of thing. At least to start. I think he'd let bits and pieces out over the years as they became relevant, especially post-Visorak when his relationship with Roodaka suddenly became very important. He's also pretty self-aware, though, and knows that there were a lot of things in his life that were kind of fucked up. He doesn't see a need to burden the others with that. They're his problems, not theirs. It's fine. He's handling it.

If/when Onewa did learn about how Vakama's family and teachers reacted to his visions, he'd probably feel like garbage. Yet another reason for Vakama to simply never say anything! He's so good at this.

Elden Ring videos are almost all uploaded. I mean, they are, but the last one will be public in about an hour. Playlist in this post.

For the next game, rather unexpectedly Steven Universe won the poll, which may have been partially because the vote was split by the two other choices. As such, I'll be doing two games next: Strike Suit Zero Director's Cut as a standard playthough, and Steven Universe Save the Light as a challenge run of sorts.

Save the Light is kinda broken, and there is a way to get what is intended to be a late game item that makes the game harder much earlier than intended. The Crying Breakfast Friend badge cuts your party's stats in half when worn, while also occupying a valuable badge slot in your group. I'll be taking on all of the game's bosses with the badge equipped, and I'll avoid using the powerful Fusion/Team Attacks when I fight them. I'll also be avoiding shops and weapon upgrades excluding a required one, and I'll be taking Peridot to the game's first boss, where she actually can't use her mechanics properly due to the area not being programmed for her to fight in. If I think of any other restrictions, I'll tack them on too, but I'll need a bit of time to work them out.
