No I know, darling. Of course I’m gonna tell you, I was always gonna tell you everything. He kisses your shoulder with a heavy sigh.

And then he recounts the entire day he’s had. Starting with the original plan for how the mission was supposed to go, and pushing himself to recount as much as he could remember of what actually happened.

He admits that he was knocked out at one point, which is what most of his injuries are from, and his information from there is pieced together from other people’s experiences.

And he cries. A few times, but always when he talks of his students. The danger they ended up being in, how he feels entirely responsible for it, and how goddamn proud of them he is.

i cry with him when he does, out of so many different emotions. its a lot to hear all at once, but i know its nothing compared to experiencing it firsthand like him. when he seems to have said everything he can right now, i wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him as close to me as i can. ‘m just so happy you’re here, sho.. i quietly sob into his neck. and i’m so proud of you for all that you did today. you saved eri, sho. that’s what really matters, and i know you take blame for putting your students in danger, but i really believe none of it was possible without you.

i pull up off his shoulder and look at him in the eye, cradling his face again. my hand delicately runs across the bandage covering his forehead, and the patch over his eye. are you okay, though? you look really beat up, sho.. i pout, more tears rolling down my face as i study how his “good” eye is even more red and swollen from the little tears he’s shed
