that's a lie and raihan knows it very well, no one saw him during the eternatus incident. they don't know how absolutely terrified he was when he watched his best friend fly off to fight this damn eldritch creature by himself  -  too stubborn to let raihan help him. you have a role to fulfill, raihan! you're hammerlocke's shield, so protect them!  and part of raihan wanted to say fuck that, you dramatic bastard! but he knew better, as their duke and their current reigning gym leader  -  he had more than a little obligation to this place.  ❛   haven't been afraid of somethin' in a long time, gordie.  ❜  he says this and yet ... he sounds so tired. exceedingly so in the manner most people don't see him in.
