i’ve come to find that the dash is most annoying when someone comments about how supposedly bad the rpc is. and i’m not saying that to offend anyone, a 100%. but it’s been something i’ve noticed.

i for one love the pokémon rpc. i think the people i follow are great, i think their takes are amazing, and i love to see how stupid the dash commentary gets at times. dash commentary is an aspect that i adore because it’s those moments where the community feels connected and we share a singular braincell together.

i think that the characters are fun to see interact and interact with. i think the place has done some major growing since i first stepped foot here, back when sun and moon was about to come out. i’ve found the dash to be unified against threats and dangers, such as when a//k//u came back, or when someone gets anon hate. sometimes, it’s the little things.

the community isn’t toxic in itself, but like in any community in any shape or form, there’s going to be clash, there’s going to be a few “bad apples”, there’s going to be confrontation, and i know it’s going to happen once scarvio gets out, like every single time a new pokémon title comes out.

chastising the community now without giving proper solutions or try to understand how it works is spitting on the efforts the rpc has collectively done to evolve. at the end of the day this is a hobby, and we should take the time we have to enjoy it with the people we like, and i don’t care if that seems “cliquety” to any of you. anyone has a group and a support circle, anyone has friends they’re biased towards and will “favor”, and that is normal and fine. i sure do hope people have friends here.

anyway. be good to each other. because in any community, what we have is each other.

like i really wish i could be normal about shipping, i really, really do. and i know i’ve talked about this a few times but it really gets to me.

when i first joined the rp scene, i was shipping with somebody who one day broke up our ship in favor of another, and that same person didn’t leave me time to, like, emotionally recover. they were also hella abusive which contributed to it, but i digress.

it’s why when i see a partner ship with someone else, sometimes i spiral preeeetty heavily. it’s mostly self-deprecation, i’m scared i’ll get pushed away again or that i’m not enough, especially as an oooo oc who ships with a canon, yknow ? and atop of all that, i feel guilty, because i don’t own my partner nor their right to ship, and i do want them to have fun, just like i do.

and on TOP of that, add the feeling of being too much, of being the ONLY one who’s actually invested, who spends her time drawing and writing and doing stuff and ... the energy isn’t matched.

but i’m so grateful to have supportive friends that do understand that, and with who i can come up with tools to avoid that kind of stuff, such as tags to block and the likes. or just, y’know. even ask for reassurance to. i love my buddies.
