💝 A headcanon about their love language

Physical touch- Freight crew already show a lot of their affection for each other through wrestling and general roughhousing but Flat-Top also loves receiving hair ruffles and cuddles (<-he'll deny it, but he loves being the little spoon)

Words of affirmation- Since Flat-Top was abandoned at a young age, he is constantly looking for others' approval and confirmation that they like him and want to spend time with him

🫂 A friendship headcanon

CB and Flat-Top! They both have a mischievous streak and have gotten into huge prank wars that the rest of freight crew (and Rusty) usually get dragged into. Once they had a competition to see who could stick the most magnets to Momma without her noticing. She got suspicious pretty early on because they kept asking her for hugs

And Cesare! Because I can't not talk about that guy

🧸 A headcanon about their childhood

His family was extremely poor so much of his childhood was spent begging for coins or scraps of food in the streets. During one of his outings, he caught a glimpse of a puppet show and became instantly enamored with the puppets. It was all he would talk about for weeks.

When he was bit older, he managed to scrape together enough money for a viola (historical accuracy be damned) so he could start busking. Since he started earning more money, he spent whatever was left over to buy materials to build his own puppets

📓 A headcanon about their hobbies

Since most of his puppets were made of wood, he grew to enjoy whittling. His fingers are less nimble now, so he mostly just sharpens sticks instead of actually making anything. He used to love making marionettes the most, but ever since his murder and reanimation the sight of them makes him nauseous.

He did pick up viola again as well but Doctor's the only person who has heard him play it

I always headcanoned that he was either born in the south (Tennessee or Kentucky) then moved to California(cuz he seems like a Cali boi) or he was born in California then moved to the south

new headcanons!

i developed some new headcanons after another week of watching stex live <3

Killerwatt is very nervous about his job, freaking out after anything goes wrong

BrandiBelle doesn't have much concern about actually helping Coco win the race and is just racing to have fun

Carrie and Ruhr become somewhat of an item after racing together and she introduces him to her friends (the coaches) because he's seen pulling all four of them before the end of act 1

I think Ruhr starts to take a liking to everyone in the yard, and becomes buddies with the Rockies, as he's seen pulling them in the for the Rap at the beginning of act 2!

The Rockies like to imitate others and are very playful!

Zero is selfish and goes after whatever he wants

Carrie - as evidenced by not caring when Rusty comes to interrupt Ich Bin Ich - doesn't mind letting a man take care of her as long as she knows and trusts him and he respects her. It's all on her terms though, of course. She also wouldn't have much of a problem letting men do favors for her even if she has no interest in them.

Killerwatt scans the faces all of Elektra's race partners so he can keep a brief profile of each of them in the system. BV is not happy about this after agreeing to help Elektra in Race 4.

By the way Carrie and BV interact with each other onstage, I believe they dated previously and are still really good friends.

I have SO many!!!!! But i think im gonna focus on how they met and a bit of them developing feelings 4 each other

(Btw you should definitely go ask @1010neveragain about their headcanons for them too, They write Wrench rly well while im more of a dinah person u know?)

- Dinah and Wrench meet for the first time when Dinah goes and races with electra.

-Wrenchs impression of her at first isn’t great per-say, shes sees Dinah as just another Pretty face that Electra’s racing with to keep up appearances.

-Dinah only really meets Wrench in passing before the race. They exchange hellos but she doesn’t really think anything of her from that other than that she’s a bit stoic.

-Dinah and Electra race and it gets called off by Control cause Rusty gets hurt (u know the drill at this point.) But Electra kinda spends the whole time flouting that he’s racing with Dinah.

-Dinah’s isn’t a big fan of the fact that she’s being used as leverage instead of an actual racing partner

-So shes like I’m fed up with all this racing!! I’m done!! By Electra!

-That’s what really piques Wrench’s interest. The fact that she wasn’t okay with just being seen as a pretty face that can be used as revenge.

-Electra’s like whatever!!!! Im gonna go find myself a new sick™️ racing partner that’s deff not gonna crash me (he will but its funny so its okay.)

-Dinahs just kinda left with the components like Well!!

-She doesn’t want to go talk to her girl besties atm cause she’s dealing with a lot and she doesn’t really want to be lectured or told to be a girl boss, she just wants someone to sit and talk to

-And that’s where Wrench comes in.

-Dinah’s left by herself and Wrench approaches her just to have a conversation as like acquaintances

-Wrench learns just by having a normal convo with Dinah that GB recently dumped her, and shes was just tired of being used.

-Dinah finds comfort in being able to just talk to Wrench without anything being expected of her.

-They talk a couple more times between than and the end of the races.

-Electra after the race and his crash deciding that hes going to leave for a while “We are leaving this yard for another, idk how long we are going to be gone for!!” He puts it 2 wrench

-Shes just kinda clicks her tongue at him like sure……..

-She's not going to leave with him. He can go off an be a whiny bitch baby and sulk with the other components for a while but shes got someone she really cares about here in this yard

-Ohhh n cause Electra and his girl squad r gone it forces wrench to rely on people other than the components… aka Electra’s boyfriend Caboose.

-Wrench has never been the biggest fan of him but hes the only one here that she knows and can talk to other than Dinah.

-Bonus points CB is Dinahs bff 5eva

-Wrench is the first one to develop feelings. They spend a lot of time together since Electra and the components aren’t around, and the way that Dinah treats her, the way she talks, the little habits she has that Wrench notices, all of it makes Wrench fall head over heels 4 her.

-Dinah’s pretty and smart and she overthinks things a lot and just needs someone to keep her from going over the edge, and Wrench is that someone.

-Dinah’s still somewhat getting over her last relationship, and will need a bit more time before she would even think about dating. But Wrench is very important to her.

-When she’s ready to finally move on and kinda live her life, she realizes just how important Wrench is to her.

-They don’t get together for a while though cause mutual pining is really funny.

-When they do confess to each other Dinah is a mess, Wrench means a whole lot too her and to find out that she feels like same way about her and has for MONTHS???? Girl.

-They get to have their first kiss after so many pent up emotions, n its soft.

-uhg. You know???? Im so

my hc is that before joining electra's components, wrench and joule were part of a circus train! joule was an animal truck obvi and wrench was a metal boxcar used to transport equipment! when they were decommissioned, electra took them in and refurbished/converted them!

now also feels like a good time to mention that i hc them as sisters/having a sisterly relationship. i think we as a group have failed to acknowledge the potential dynamic between a repair truck (fixes things) and a dynamite truck (destroys things).

Flat-Top is probably cisgender (he/him) and as for his orientation, I think he's bisexual! I happen to be one of the people who headcanon that his desire to join Greaseball’s gang is, among other reasons, because he's got a bit of a crush on Greaseball. I think he might not entirely realize that he's got feelings for GB (or that he's bisexual at all), and just thinks that him liking GB a bit more than he does other guys in his life his just normal. XD

YES! WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK ABT MY HCs!

So sorry for getting back so late but I had to get EVERYTHING down

Rusty

Rusty probably joined Boy Scouts tbh, he just has that Boy Scout vibe abt him

Rusty is the son of Poppa and Belle but spent most of his young years with Poppa which is why when he was first introduced to Belle he didn’t have a great view of her (More abt the Poppa and Belle situation if ppl wanna here abt it)

Rusty tends to get crushes quickly with like any coach that would pay attention to him but he really fell HARD for Pearl. Like he was actually in love then, not just a crush

Rusty has rust because of really bad eczema(rust), like from a young age

He is about 1.5 years younger than Pearl but like 3 years older than the Rockies

The Rockies are his half siblings via Poppa (still part of my Poppa-Belle lore)

Once he is with Pearl, he doesn’t feel the same strive to race. He still competes in the upcoming Championships because he has to defend his Championship as part of the rules but he chooses to lose because he doesn’t really want to be a racer anymore and prefers to be a shunter

Rusty and Pearl live pretty content lives in the yard

Rusty has tried to become friends with Electra and Greaseball. He sort of has with Electra but they don’t really hang out much, but they are on pretty good terms. With Greaseball however, Greaseball seems to be rather cold to him. Rusty doesn’t actively avoid him but he does choose to not spend time with Greaseball

Later on Rusty and Pearl end up having 2 trainlets, Rosie and Will.

Rosie is a pink steam train who acts like Pearl and Will looks just like Rusty

In a high school AU Rusty is in band and is on the water polo team

Electra

Electra was adopted and greatly loves his moms, they are one of the few people that can tell him to do something

While Electra has that whole Electronics thing going on, the first person he had ever been involved with was Volta and they know each other very well

Electra likes to experiment with their hair and they like to try different hair styles and colors

Electra did go try to find his birth parents (because he was abandoned) but it all came up empty

He wants everyone to love him just to ensure that he won’t be abandoned again

One if the reasons why he chose to race in the first place was to get people to notice him and just in case his biological parents saw that he won and would try to find him or see how successful he was without them

He generally feels mixed feelings towards his parents

I don’t think it’s really a hc cuz it was confirmed but Electra is Gender Fluid and Bi

Electra doesn’t really like the freight but he is ok with the Rockies because they sometimes braid his hair for free

Electra didn’t like Greaseball because he naturally got attention and Greaseball getting attention was Electra not getting attention which made him feel more abandoned

In “No Comeback” Electra just went back to his parents house, hand a good long cry, stayed the weekend to talk about his need for attention then went back to the year feeling better

Completely random but in a high school AU Electra drives Greaseball to school, cuz I say so. They aren’t even really friends, their parents are. (Taken from a line in the rap and I just couldn’t stop thing abt how funny it was)

In high school AU, Electra would have been in the fashion club and the swim team

Ahh yes Greaseball 🥰💕

Greaseball is dyslexic (coming from a dyslexic)

He first met Dinah when they were young cuz they just so happened to cross paths

Greaseball’s father was a pretty bad dude who got Greaseball to think that diesel were better than any other rolling stock. Eventually in his teen years Greaseball realized that everything that his father said wasn’t true but some of it he still believed unconsciously

When Greaseball first started to date Dinah he didn’t really know how to handle a real steady relationship and a big growth step for him was when he told Dinah this instead of just telling her that instead of just being quiet to her

He had many flings before Dinah but he never felt like anything would be quick with her, she just felt different

Greaseball wanted to be just like his dad when he was young but in his teen years he realized that his dad wasn’t the best like he though he was and came to find that his father was quite terrible especially to his mother

Now Greaseball love(d)s his mommy to pieces

His mother died right after he won his first championship. He was so torn up about it that he became very depressed and thought about quitting racing. Dinah was there to comfort him and it just so happens that around this same general time Greaseball made it official with Dinah

Greaseball tried for years to fix the way that he thinks to be less narcissistic but he greatly struggled with it and often ended up not thinking of others

He never really meant to uncouple Dinah, he just thought about how he wanted to get back at Electra

Greaseball has a very hard time sleeping without Dinah next to him

Greaseball and Dinah would have gotten married about a year after the race

They had between 5-8 trainlets (they were pretty busy…)

Once Dinah was pregnant the first time , Greased said that it would be his last season of racing

He then became a racing instructor

In a high school AU he would be on the football team and the wrestling team as well as being part of the weightlifting club

He can in fact whistle and he does for Dinah only

She knew Pearl didn't see it as anything big in her mind but it really hurt her and it took a while for them to become friends again after.

General Opinion over said character: I LOVE DINAH. Shes the first one that I've cosplayed and the first one i drew (and i draw her a LOT lol), and she means a lot to me. I,,, like deff like her cause i relate to her like original story (being dumped er;noreorfe;jf;onfqerg) but Dinah just like,,, oughghhhh she means so much to me.

Opal has a bad hip since the races (where E-Lektra shocked her). It's usually not too bad, but it flares up every now and then (E-Lektra feels very guilty about it).

Rusty glows silver and teal at night (specifically under moonlight)

City of Milton Keynes (og British Engine) is the father of both Prince of Wales and Brexit

Greaseball and Pearl are best friends (after sorting out the issues around the races) and there's one braincell between them. Rusty regularly come back to his shed to find both of them cooking from memory or discussing the best fish, etc

Flat-Top has a prosthetic leg and dyscalculia
