You’re so annoying, Kashimura! 

Shuji scribbled on the piece of paper and expertly passed it to Kashimura, two desks diagonally in front. Kashimura glanced at the note and glared at Shuji—that bastard. Kashimura scrawled an angry sentence back.

I am NOT giving you the answer! You know how to solve that question anyway.

Kashimura scrunched up the note and threw it to Shuji. The paper flawlessly landed next to Shuji’s book.

Pft! Kashimura is so mean! I bet that’s why he’s still 150 cm tall!

LAY OF MY SIZE, YOU JACKASS! I’M FIFTEEN, I’M STILL GROWING!

Hobbit species. Replied Shuji simply. 

What an ass. Kashimura was about to write something (in all capitals) when he was suddenly called out by the teacher, looking sternly at him.

“Kashimura, what answer did you get to question three?” Asked the teacher, clearly knowing he had been passing notes with Shuji. The blackboard was full of expressions and equations Kashimura hadn’t noticed. Fuck.

“Fourteen to the power of seven.” Grumbled Kashimura, saying the first thing that came to his mind. The class erupted in snickers— attempts of trying not to laugh, but failing. How very annoying.

“Nowhere close.” Said the teacher, unimpressed. “If you are going to pass notes in my class, you need to know how to do your maths first. Now, will Shuji give us the answer?” The teacher peered at Kashimura’s “accomplice”.

“Negative six, sir.” Chirped Shuji happily. 

“Correct.” Said the teacher, but disappointed that he couldn’t tell Shuji off. 

Kashimura glared as Shuji smiled, all cocky. Why did Shuji even ask what the answer was when he knew it all along?

“Hey, mackerel! It’s all your fault! Why did you even decide to pass me a note? It was a nice maths lesson too!” Kashimura continued to rant as Shuji poked his tongue out at him. It was 3:15, right after the final period of the day. Kashimura threw his satchel at Shuji’s head.

“Kashimura, you’re a psycho for liking Maths! And the teacher!” Shuji spoke lazily in his voice as if he didn’t even want to use his energy to talk with Kashimura.

“You son of a bitch.” Muttered Kashimura. Yes, he likes maths, mostly because he can irritate Shuji to entertain himself, but that always somehow gets reversed.

“Now, Kashimura, that’s not a nice thing to say!” Said Shuji, pouting his lips. He discreetly likes it when Kashimura swears, but it will be on his deathbed when he says it.

“Have I ever intended to be nice to you?” Said Kashumura icily, side-eyeing Shuji.

“Why are you talking to me then, chibi?” Teased Shuji, eyes wide with mockery.

“Stop. Calling. Me. A. Fucking. Chibi.” Growled Kashimura.

“I’m fourteen, I’m still growing~!” Mimicked Shuji sarcastically.

Kashimura didn’t speak, instead casting a glare. Whatever he says, Shuji always has a way of retorting.

“You going to that drama audition tomorrow? You know, the one Port Mafia is holding for six plays?” Asked Shuji, In an attempt to steer the conversation away. It was a bit stupid, considering the answer would be no. 

Kashimura is a Sheep actor, and the Sheep hates the Port Mafia productions. The Port Mafia Theatre Department has lots of successful productions, eight out of ten of their plays were recorded and released online. and even if you never saw their plays, you would have watched Port Mafia Products on TV. But the PMP was also known for hiring underage actors and involving sketchy deals. That was probably why The Sheep hated them. 

The Sheep was a small local company, consisting of little kids, it was almost like a drama workshop. Kashumura is a skilled actor, but Shuji personally thinks he is wasting talent in the Sheep. They usually do common plays in the town theatre, with storylines so dire they were funny. Chuuya was a Sheep actor, but still a tiny tot fifteen-year-old, so he had to go to school. Being in the Sheep made Chuuya quite popular at school, though. 

“Yeah.” Said Kashimura, surprised. “How did you know?”

K-pop Discography Deep Dives: TXT

A Disclaimer: I was planning, when I first started Tumblr, to be a lurker, but then I began an office job and needed something to listen to to keep myself occupied. And then, I started going through entire K-pop groups’ repertoires, album by album, and jotting down my thoughts. And then, I stumbled into K-pop tumblr and decided, you know what, there’s at least four people on this hell site who would read in depth rants about these discographies and at least five who wouldn’t read it and then get mad because it’s kind of our job as K-pop fans. My lukewarm takes should be taken with an entire silo of salt and the knowledge that this is completely for fun and occupying my very bored, very neurodivergent brain. All this to say, for the love of god, I’m a sleep-deprived student and I don’t have time for internet hate, so don’t kill me. With that being said, enjoy!

Here are my credentials: yeah…none. I think the amount of TXT songs I know can be counted on one hand, and besides one, they’re all singles. But like with BTS, I’ve been a K-pop fan for four years and I figured that it was about time I make an effort to give them a try. It’s funny; I feel like with every girl group I cover I’m like “well obviously it was July 2017 because Joy had red hair” and with every boy group I’m like “um…are there seven or eight of them again?”

But I digress. TXT was formed in 2019, by Big Hit Entertainment, with five members (and yes, it’s five, I googled it, I promise), Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Heuning Kai, Soobin, and Taehyun, and they’ve been pretty popular since then, which is an achievement in and of itself, coming from an agency best known for the biggest boy group of all time.

They debuted with double title tracks, the first of which was Crown. With the somewhat moodier image they have now, I didn’t expect to think their debut so adorable, but that’s definitely the word I’d use. Despite them being a 4th generation group, the way this is shot, the bright colors, and the comic book drawings remind me very much of late 2nd, early 3rd gen, which hey, I’m not complaining. The song, fittingly, is upbeat and bubbly, very much pop with some synthy influence. Overall, I liked it, as a 2nd and 3rd fan, but something about it doesn’t leave that much of an impact on me. Maybe it’s that I’m not the biggest fan of very young-sounding music, and this is a little too reminiscent of Chewing Gum by NCT Dream for my liking.

Cat + Dog is also from this first EP, and basically all of the comments I had for Crown repeat here, though I did like Crown more. I know that this is more me than the song, but something about this one just…creeped me out?, in a way that Crown didn’t. I know that they were young when this came out (between 16 and 19), but they’re acting like they’re 10 and it’s a bit unnerving. From the EP The Dream Chapter: Star, I liked the calmer but still poppy beat of Our Summer, though I wish it was a little slower to stand out from the other songs in the album more.

Run Away is a song I’d already heard from TXT, but I like it more in the context of their work thus far. It’s still pop, still full of that youthful energy and hope, but leans into an ethereal and nostalgic feeling, and overall feels a lot more suited to them as older teenagers. It has some good humor, and both its Harry Potter references and its message of running away from the monotony and cruelty of the real world with your friends turns it into something universal.

From The Dream Chapter: Magic, I enjoyed the odd percussion and the melodic chanting in New Rules, the gentle vocals in Magic Island, and the sweet love story between childhood friends in 20 CM. My favorite was probably Can’t We Just Leave The Monster Alive, for the interesting trope deconstruction and its encouragement of taking your own path in life.

Can’t You See Me starts with some interesting almost-stop-motion in its ruffling pages, and I couldn’t decide where I thought it was going to go. At first, it combines both the young love idea of Crown and the themes of magic and isolation from the world from Run, which work pretty well, but it soon devolves into something resembling a cry for help with its unusual structure and odd vocal fry segways. It leans very into ethereal, while speaking about the dark side of a friendship gone bad. It took me a couple listens to make up my mind, but I do like this one.

From The Dream Chapter: Eternity, I had two standouts in Fairy of Shampoo and Maze In The Mirror. Fairy of Shampoo (despite the odd name) feels a bit like floating with its citypop synth and jazzy background, and I wish it’d been promoted as a special single instead of Puma. Maze In The Mirror is another song here that was written by the members themselves about their time as trainees, the difficulties they faced, and their friendship. As I’ve said before, some of my favorite songs in k-pop are this kind of acoustic, genuine b-sides that convey such honest emotions, so of course I loved this one.

Blue Hour’s very calm vocalizing and acoustics caught me off guard before the synths I was expecting came in, and I found myself nodding my head. Like with Run, I appreciated the brightness and humor here much more than I did in the first couple of songs because I thought it was better balanced here without overdoing it on the aegyo. It’s not a world-changing song, but I did have a good time with it and it made me laugh a few times (especially with that cowboy hat because what on earth were they thinking).

Minisode 1: Blue Hour reminds me a lot of BTS’ ON album, down to having a song about COVID (in this case the aptly titled We Lost The Summer), which I can’t bring myself to actually critique because of how sweet it is, though in the year of the whoever 2023 I wince to remember 2020. Besides it, I loved the airy vocals and video game esque synthy production on Ghosting and the anthemic chorus in Wishlist.

0X1=Lovesong was another song I had already heard of TXT’s, because I happen to be a fan of Seori, who’s featured on this track, and I have to say that my biggest gripe with the track is that she’s just not featured enough, but that’s really the only criticism I have of this one. I confess that I love this song, and it was actually the reason I wanted to do this review. Remember how I called Wishlist anthemic? Well, clearly I don’t know the meaning of the word, or didn’t until I heard this song. It takes TXT’s youthful energy and pairs it with a full on alt-rock ballad. It feels like a follow-up to Run with its immaculate roadtrip energy, and though the verses are a bit slow, that chorus is just a knockout and just makes me want to be a kid again, grab my best friend’s hand, and run for the goddamn hills. Probably won’t be lighting a car on fire, though, sorry.

Far be it from me to dissuade from some extra drama, but LO$ER=LOVER…well, it’s giving full on “when I was…a young boy…my father took me into the city…”. No but really, I want to think that this level of ridiculousness is some kind of intentional My Chemical Romance parody, because it’s honestly hilarious. It has some of that anthemic quality that I so loved in Lovesong, but that great build-up in the front half of the chorus is just undercut by a lack of payoff and the abject silliness that is “I’m a loser, I’m a loser, lover with a dollar sign is a loser.” I think that I would like this more if I was sure that the joke is intentional, but I’m honestly not sure that it is. Either way, they’re clearly having a lot of fun with this, so it’s tough to dislike.

From The Chaos Chapter: Fight or Escape, I have a lot to talk about, since it’s such a long album. Firstly, I already knew the chorus of Anti-Romantic due to its popularity, but I liked it more in context with the rest of the song. No Rules (which I assume is a follow-up to New Rules) has a great beat and in my humble opinion, there’s never enough disco. MOA Diary, a song for their fans, is very sweet and I can totally see it being a crowd favorite at a concert; I loved the harmonizing. Dear Sputnik was probably my favorite though; it’s another song written by one of the members and has an excellent alt-rock drive that totally should’ve made it be the single instead of LO$ER=LOVER.

Good Boy Gone Bad had me wincing before it even began, because the title already hints towards more non-self aware drama. And it turns out my instincts were right, because while LO$ER=LOVER is so ridiculous it’s basically camp, Good Boy Gone Bad just had me rolling my eyes and wondering not why the good boy had in fact gone bad but why I had to hear about it. Also why Yeonjun was driving a motorcycle in a faux fur coat, but that’s a story for another time.

From the EP Thursday’s Child, which is the second “minisode”, I liked the intro Opening Sequence more than I expected, mostly due to the charisma in their vocals, which really do the heavy lifting in such a minimalistic song. I also enjoyed Trust Fund Baby (give it a chance, I know the title doesn’t inspire confidence), again due to the strength of their vocals and the emotion they carry, when singing a song about a relationship that’s ended due to poverty. This is overall a very melancholy EP, a sharp contrast to Blue Hour’s optimism. Even the more synthy Thursday’s Child Has Far To Go isn’t totally upbeat, but as an album closer, it does hold a little hope that things won’t always be bleak and ended up being my favorite.

Sugar Rush Ride is, thankfully, a return to the synthy, ethereal, upbeat sound that has become TXT’s signature for its verses and pre-choruses, but for some reason opts for a very simple whistling hook and an incredibly jarring anti-drop chorus instead of resolving its great build-up. The bridge, likewise, feels harsh in what’s otherwise a calm song, and honestly, I find this song more disappointing than I would if it used a style I hate throughout, because I really enjoy the greater part of it…but I just can’t get past that chorus.

From The Name Chapter: Temptation, there’s three b-sides I want to talk about. Devil By The Window is a fully English song, which normally I would complain about, as I often do. But this one’s actually really good; it’s tense, attention-grabbing, and has a very taut arrangement. Also, this is probably me reading too much into it, but the chorus is giving me such queer energy (“I met the devil by the window, traded my life, temptation touched my tongue, spread the wings of desire. He’s whispering ‘give up, don’t you put up a fight.’”). But…c’mon guys, maybe I’ve missed something, but last time I checked straight people don’t get seduced by random devils of the same gender standing near their window, but hey, how should I know?

Besides that, I also liked the acoustic guitar in the pop-rock Farewell, Neverland and the chill vocals here as they sing goodbye both to a childhood lover and to childhood as a whole. Tinnitus (Wanna Be A Rock) pleasantly surprised me with its Afro-pop influences, because it’s not a common pairing in k-pop and I was surprised by how well it works here. Do It Like That is an English-language collaboration with the Jonas Brothers, and between its very mainstream pop sound, the English, and its beat, I admit that it gave me war flashbacks to Dynamite. Here is where I invoke my disclaimer of: Dynamite is not a bad song (see my way-too-long BTS review for a whole two paragraphs of thoughts on that), but k-pop doesn’t need to try and replicate it. I know that this is totally down to my own bias, because Do It Like That isn’t a bad song either, but I won’t be returning to whatever concerningly white void they filmed this in anytime soon.

Back For More is another English-language collaboration, this time with Brazilian singer Anitta. I was preparing myself for another paragraph of disclaimers and having to do some overly dramatic sighing, but actually, I liked this! It feels like any other TXT single with its disco influences and catchy beat, just in another language, as it should be. I also appreciate that they collaborated with a Latin pop star, who sings in both English and her own language too, which made it feel less like a cop-out. The first time I heard this one, it was the shortened version that they performed at the VMAs, but the longer version with the bridge really elevates the song and I’m glad I watched it. It’s not my favorite but I’m not going to throw a tantrum if it comes on.

Chasing That Feeling is from their latest comeback just a month or so ago. I was feeling optimistic from the first verse’s beat, although after being burned by Sugar Rush Ride, I was still a bit wary. But, thankfully, Chasing That Feeling does what it predecessors didn’t do: it delivers, with those head-bopping synths, citypop influences, and electronic background. I admit that I wish it had a bit more of a climax and went against the grain, but it’s hard to not be won ever when a song’s chorus starts by saying “I’ve turned my back on heaven” and telling fate “come on and kiss me”.

The Name Chapter: Freefall is another full length album, so I have a lot of highlights. I loved the exploration of a harsher version of rock mixed with metal in the teen angst driven Growing Pain, which their voices were surprisingly suited to. I also enjoyed the vulnerability and slowing rising vocals in Deep Down’s pre-chorus, the acceptance that “life is not a fairytale” but is still worth living in Happily Ever After, and the moody Skipping Stones, which tells the listener not to be too hard on themselves, because what they’re going through will pass. I think that Skipping Stones was also written by the members themselves.

So, I enjoyed this more than I expected! I confess that I did expect something similar to BTS, which is probably unfair given the fact that besides having the same company, they have nothing to do with each other. Calm down, I’m not laminating my stan card just yet. I’m not a MoA, but I think that I could probably consider myself at least a casual fan after this. We’ll see how it goes. Maybe the next comeback will absolutely blow me away.

My Top 5 songs are Lovesong, Run Away, Thursday’s Child Has Far To Go, Dear Sputnik, and Maze In The Mirror, with Skipping Stones as an honorable mention. TXT gets an 8.75 out of 10 from me, which, again, is a surprise for both of us. I do love synth, rock pop, and disco, and I’m excited by the fact that they’ve already written a bunch of songs. Here’s hoping that they keep getting better and they end up getting as much creative freedom as some entirely self-produced groups.

Appearance and Personality

Appearance: Venomia has an average female body build but has an structure up-building which is unusual for a female individual like her, which means her structure is similar to a man but much more feminine. She has light ash red colored hair which she ties the right side of it into a side ponytail. She has light green colored eyes but when using her crestia demi-god abilities the color of the other color for it remains unknown for the time being. Venomia is considered to be an understandable individual but is mostly centered when it comes to things that aren't in her area.

Personality: Born as the youngest child within her lineage, Venomia was considered to be dull and has the incapability of feeling much of other emotions, despite the fact that she had never failed to disappoint the family and its historical upbringing, not a single emotion surfaced into her childhood days. To Venomia's thoughts on it back then, she found nothing to be considered as worth to hold within her lifestyle, which concerned towards her parents and sisters ever since till a certain issue within the family had brought up within the Ivy Temple just to drag Venomia down the pit of her living which turned her into a lifeless of her shell.

But all things changed when the grand ivy within the temple chose Venomia to be its current user for its power and legacy, for the first few times within her lessons as the lady of the temple, it indeed brought the young crestia demi-goddess into a spring of sudden emotions after seeing nature and it's abilities as time passes on within her life, which it includes her fascination of plant monsters who are capable of consuming fleshed beings, which Venomia finds them thrilling as she grew older.

The current Venomia we're seeing now in the present-timeline is known for her secured obedience and disciplinary for many valid reasons as her job applied so for many, but she can be understandable for various situations as a crestia demi-goddess, like her other fellow crestia demi-gods within the dorm, she seems to be a neutral fellow member within the dorm itself within a daily schedule. Despite her current appearance as she grew up in present, she seems to have managed to have an understanding of some emotions she has in the present but for the rest has remains unknown for her own curiosity or more.

She seems to be rather okay with much of the situations however she can raise her ears to hear something that catches her interesting in some other way around but it depends on how she responds to them in her own opinion and level. Which is why she is understanding with her ears and mature for her age of level. Although she would rather stay low for status for various reasons which seems rather important which she cannot answer, although she can get a headache if things were going out of hand and level for her management, which Venomia is more of an assisting role kind of individual and does not want any leadership role but she'll manage somehow but not for long on her brain and balance.

Though obedience is one thing to know, but her limit is far beyond limits whenever she's about to cross with. Composed and ladylike but silent as a trap ready to be at upon, Venomia wouldn't hesitate to remind and goes sometimes for brutality of violence on anyone who misreads her mind and words, sometimes silence is an all the way to go but for Venomia and her upbringing childhood? No. She knows more than what's there behind them.

Please give her some thinking whenever another issue is brought up, she isn't fast at getting things done but is clever for settled ideas to the bottle.

In the past one afternoon around at sunset, Venomia had wandered towards it till she came in contact with an extremely rare amount of poison kicked in from the temple itself, which caused her family and sisters to put an uproar with the household upon the tragedy till she managed to regain consciousness during her midweek survival on her revival. She was hospitalized for five weeks.

Snow's Sea Turtle Mer Facts

When I have enough spoons I'll do this again but with graphics! My school is just kicking my ass so I need to have some free time. So instead I'll do my best to describe how things look to my best ability!

So without further ado here is my facts on Turtle Mer how the work, and bless @emry-stars-art, @ca-van, @jtl-fics, and @chellseed for listening to me rant and ramble as I figured everything out. Y'all are angels I sware.

The most important thing to note about these type of mer is that they often follow the same rules as the sea turtles they resemble and thus are named for the sea turtles they resemble. The sizes of these mer are heavily dependent on which species they resemble as well. The shells of these mer are nearly identical to the size of the turtle. The shell's of the adult mer are only a bit bigger (roughly 1ft or 30.48cm bigger) while the hatchling shell's are about the same size of the hatchling turtles.

These mer are often highly studied as the human part of their body doesn't necessarily match the sex of their turtle half. That is all determined, just like in turtles, by the temperature of the sand in which the the eggs are nested in. If a mer's eggs incubate below 27.7° Celsius (81.86° Fahrenheit), the hatchlings will be male. If the eggs incubate above 31° Celsius (88.8° Fahrenheit), however, the hatchlings will be female. Yet temperature doesn't effect the human portion of the mer's sex. Such a mer that presents as a human female could in fact have the reproductive organs of a male turtle and vice versa. These mer eggs take about 60 days to incubate and hatch.

Sea turtle hatchlings may often look weird to people who happen to witness them hatch. At first look they look like baby turtles without heads but at close inspection you'll notice that the human part of the mer is nested inside their shell. As these hatchlings grow the human part will slowly emerge giving stability to the young mer's head as the strength grows and develops. These mer will take 10 to 50 years to fully mature.

These are the species of mer that we know of today and their sizes;

Kemp's Ridley Mer measure 6 ft (182.88 cm) in length and weigh up to 208.1 lbs (94.4 kg) as adults and their hatchlings measure approximately 0.98 in (25mm) long and weigh an average 0.62 oz (17.58 g).

Olive Ridley Mer measure 7 ft (213.36 cm) in length and weigh up to 277 lbs (125.65 kg) as adults and their hatchlings measure approximately 1.9 in (17.78 cm) and weigh an average of 1 oz (28.35 g).

Hawksbill Mer measure 8ft (243.84 cm) in length and weigh up to 356.9 lbs (161.9 kg) as adults and their hatchlings measure 3 in (7.62 cm) and weigh an average of 3 oz (85.05 g).

Flatback Mer measure 8.4ft (259.08 cm) in length and weigh up to 451.93 lbs (204.99 kg) as adults and their hatchlings measure 3 in (7.62 cm) and weigh an average of 3.4 oz (96.39 g).

Loggerhead Mer measure 9.2ft (280.42 cm) in length and weigh up to 553.3 lbs (251.88 kg) as adults and their hatchlings measure in 4 in (10.16 cm) and weigh an average of 4.2 oz (119.07 g).

Green Turtle Mer measure 11 ft (335.28 cm) in length and weigh up to 765 lbs (347 kg) as adults and their hatchlings measure 5.4 in (13.72 cm) and weigh an average of 5.3 oz (150.25 g).

Leatherback Mer measure 14ft (426.72 cm) in length and weigh up to 1550 lbs (703.07 kg) as adults and their hatchlings measure 8 in (20.32 cm) and weigh an average of 7 oz (198.45 g).

Archelon Mer Extinct -- Skeletal remains hint at this mer once existing but there hasn't been any documented evidence of these mer existing today. This mer is said to of measured 28 ft (853.44 cm) in length but scientists have not yet been able to calculate just how much these colossal mer would weigh. However it can be estimated that they would most likely weigh twice as the Leatherback mer, 3100 lbs (1406.14 kg). Unfortunately no fossils of Archelon hatchlings have been discovered which could be a testament to the ancient mer hatchlings having much better survival rate then today's mer or that the fossils are located in the deep sea which we have not discovered yet.

Sea Turtle Mer have the same nesting habits of their turtle counter parts. They all come up on the beach at once and nest in groups and they all nest at the same beach from when they hatched. These mer lay anywhere from 100 120 eggs and statistically only 1 of those hatchlings will make it to maturity. These hatchling mer face predators such as raccoons, crabs and ants raid eggs and hatchlings still in the nest. Once they emerge, hatchlings make bite-sized meals for birds, crabs and a host of predators in the ocean. After reaching adulthood, sea turtles are relatively immune to predation, except for the occasional shark attack. 

These natural attacks are not the reason why these mer have plummeted towards extinction. That responsibility goes to the actions of humans. From poaching for their meat and shells, predatory commercial fishing entangling these mer, to humans encroaching on their habitats, to artificial lighting affecting hatchings, humans are the main reason for this mer's rapid declining numbers.

That doesn't mean that their haven't been actions taken to protect these mer. Multiple organizations and rescues have done rehabilitation measures for these mer but as much as these mer are getting help they are being hurt twice as much and some mer have been deemed to only be able to thrive in captivity.

The Prophecy of the Pipebomb

There's a saying that goes, "Everything eventually comes full circle." Its never been more true than this point in pro-wrestling.

Any pro-wrestling fan, whether casual viewer or lifelong fan remembers the night of June 27, 2011. A day that will always live in sports entertainment history & infamy.

CM Punk has never been one to hold his tongue, but he does it in such an articulate manner that it makes you sit and think....and sometimes cringe, depending on your perspective.

To give some backstory on this moment, CM Punk had secured a one-on-one match with John Cena for the WWE Championship at the next pay-per-view, Money in the Bank. With his contract just weeks away from ending, CM Punk made it clear that he had no intentions of resigning. Instead, he planned on walking away from WWE as the company’s champion, potentially taking the WWE championship belt to another wrestling promotion.

When the promo starts off, it sounds like a typical build up to the anticipated match with John Cena, but things quickly turn south, going into an epic tirade of disgust over the WWE roster, the WWE stars of the past, and utter contempt for the McMahon family, while giving shout outs to Paul Heyman, Brock Lesnar, his then-friend Colt Cabana, and the Ring of Honor Wrestling promotion. Disillusionment at its finest, but I don't blame him.

The most important part of this promo was the venting, which felt all too real, as if years of animosity had been building since CM Punk's arrival from the independent circuit. First, he was thrown into WWE's developmental promotion, Ohio Valley Wrestling. Then, with the renewed but poorly handled rebirth of ECW, then a move over to the main WWE roster. A move to the main roster should have been the golden ticket to the big time but, he wasn't given the shine he deserved. If so, then he would have been promoted in the main title sequence on Monday Night Raw, as CM Punk stated.

Another important aspect of this promo is how he verbally laid into the McMahon family & John Laurinaitis. It's no secret that CM Punk is not fan of the non-sensical aspects of backstage politics, but understands that it is a reality that has to be met head on. Valid points were made, regarding legacy, broken promises, talent being taken for granted & not getting its proper due respect, simply because a wrestler doesn't look "main event" enough to get over with the fans. CM Punk was not only right, but proved the old-timers wrong, by becoming the main event draw that the fans demanded, but up until that night, he was still being denied.

Let's be frank about this; if it wasn't for CM Punk bringing that point up, guys like Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan, two men that don't exactly fit the mold of the main event talent we all watched in the 80's and 90's, wouldn't even touch the WWE title, let alone be in the conversation for a shot at the WWE championship belt. To further add to his case, CM Punk took the Kobe Bryant approach in pro wrestling and spent hours, sometimes days, honing and perfecting his craft. There's a reason why he's been voted independent wrestler of the year, before signing with WWE.

Just when CM Punk was about to get going on the McMahon’s legacy and how Vince’s death won’t fix anything, even if it is put in the hands of his son-in-law, Triple H and his daughter, Stephanie McMahon, the mic gets cut. The audience, left in disbelief and excitement.

The now infamous pipebomb promo generated the kind of buzz wrestling promoters could only dream about. It shocked the pro wrestling world as a whole, ranging from praise to threats to conspiracies and skepticism. Some heard this pipebomb promo and dismissed it as a "work", meaning that it blurred the lines between fantasy and reality. Others, fully agreed and took a stance with CM Punk. Others within the WWE and some hall of fame stars of the past, were either angered or put off by the rant. I believe this was due to the fact that the wrestling industry as a whole, as well as the WWE was losing the power it once had. The industry wasn't ready to change just yet.

Pro wrestling fans had now become MMA fans and the talent from the independent circuits were not seen as appealing or as a "top guy" that could carry the company, reminiscent of the days of Hulk Hogan. The talent that the old guard was relying on, such as Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, also had to contend with their egos. John Cena was the go to option, while relying on superstars of the 90's, such as The Rock, to make their guest appearances for an immediate million-dollar box office draw. Nostalgia is fine, but it gets tiresome after a while. Fans just don't want to see heroes of the past. We want to see what's fresh and new & still relatable as well. That was another point that CM Punk was trying to make.

However, to be fair, this is still a business and no matter how many moonsaults you can do or catchphrases you have, you still have to draw a crowd and generate a box office draw that'll leave the fans wanting more and if the new guys can't handle it, then the best interest of business has to take over and protect the namesake of what it was built upon. That was the point the WWE was also trying to make.

Both perspectives are not wrong. They just needed to put their pride aside and hear each other out.

I can look back and say, this was more than just a promo. It was a prophetic word, that told of what was wrong with the sports entertainment industry, who would be proven wrong & whose futures would or could meet a self-inflicted end. Now, things have come full circle....sort of. I am no oracle, but its astonishing how this has played out.

As it was spoken, Triple H & Stephanie McMahon have taken the reigns of the WWE, bringing about major changes to the company. Since Triple H has taken over creative control, surprisingly, the quality of the WWE has gotten better. Not to mention, that the athletes that were either treated as an afterthought or never seen as a main event draw, were finally given their shot at the main roster and as a main event draw. This has drawn praise not only from the locker room in WWE, but even from former stars as well.

On the other spectrum, the microphone master, CM Punk, became the main event draw in AEW Wrestling, a status that should have been given in the WWE. After his end in 2014 in the WWE, he made his way through the MMA circuit, then back to WWE as a TV commentator while dabbling in acting and writing, then, on a fateful August night in 2021, made his much anticipated return in AEW. This brought back fans of Punk and pro wrestling, witnessing their favorite folk hero return again, in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois.

Every aspect of those words spoken that night has manifested.

Fast forward to 2023.

Vince McMahon retires from his long standing position at WWE, now taken over by a new generation, only to be taken back, again, put up for sale and daughter, Stephanie McMahon stepping down as CEO of the company. This caught everyone off guard. I cringe at the thought of the WWE being sold to an entity that might not have its best interest at heart. It happened to WCW and ECW in the early 2000's. We would hate to see history repeat itself. We all grew up watching these pro wrestling superstars give us the type of heart-pounding moments that you would only see in comic books or science fiction films. To think of anyone else to have control of this is bewildering and sad, like a child watching their father walk out, only to be introduced to a stepfather that could never replace the bond created by the biological entity that helped make life and childhood in general, fantastic. I still don't know what to make of it. Who would of thought that you can put a price tag on one's ego?

WWE was our pre-school. Our live-action hero story. Our Saturday day care, once the cartoons went off at 12 PM and we were switching between Soul Train on WPIX channel 11 and whatever exploitation film that was broadcasted on channel 9, before it became the UPN network. We can't imagine this company as anything else, let alone in someone else's hands. Unfortunately, its happening.

While the complete opposite of wishful demise has not happened to the forever reigning, now up-for-sale powerhouse, WWE, the career of a once promising, generational talent, has taken its own turn. Whether it was for better or for worse, is depending on your point of view. Some argue that CM Punk has become the very thing he spoke out against on that June night in 2011. In some aspects, that might have been the case. In other aspects, maybe it was justified. Regardless, due to months-long controversies within AEW, the main event status has since dwindled due to a toxic backstage culture & a self-inflicted observation that CM Punk spoke over himself during his epic rant in 2011. It was not only the jealousy of others that took him out. His ego became his number one enemy.

For the record, I have nothing against CM Punk. I don't agree with all the perspectives or personal politics he carries, but, I get him. His persona motivates me. His rise in the ranks of the independent wrestling world to the big time is almost Rocky Balboa-like, filled with awe and wonder. I only wish that his time with the WWE and AEW could have ended on a more peaceful note, going out like a warrior, on his own terms, with a roaring ovation as his swan song. I still want that for him. His fans still want that for him. Even if he doesn't want it, I don't blame him. His disillusionment is understandable. CM Punk was the rebel with a cause, who came at the right time, even if the powers that be weren't ready for it.

June 27, 2011 was more than just a controversy. It was prophecy, spoken into existence. Many of us didn't understand it then, dismissing it as a work or off-color controversy. Now, we see that it has manifested. Both these perspectives have one commonality; sometimes, its our love and passion that can take us out rather than our hate or grievance of being treated as an after thought that's constantly taken for granted and not appreciated until its gone out the door.

The pipebomb promo, in all of its unbeknownst and unassuming glory, has stood the test of time, bringing changes to a proud industry that would only give the "Hulk Hogans" of the wrestling world the spotlight while eerily consuming the egos & passions of those that we never expected to be in the positions that they are in. Whether you see it as a positive or a negative, again, its all perspective.

It's a very fond memory for me and I want to keep the theme going. The necro part comes up because, well, I'm personally fond of the occult and my first D&D character was a necromancer wizard. Quirk: Razor feathers – Hanebi is able to harden the black tail feathers and flight feathers on her forearms into razor sharp blade-like weapons that she can shoot across great distances with equally great force. The sharpness of her feathers rivals that of an obsidian blade and can scratch corundum, the second hardest mineral on Earth. While Hanebi shooting her feathers is similar to Hawk’s quirk, she cannot recall or control where her feathers go once she fires them from her body. New feathers regrow quickly should Hanebi have a good amount of fat on her. However, overuse of her quirk not only malnourishes her, but causes her to bleed from her forearms and end of her tail and she needs to eat a lot and sleep after each time she pushes her limits. Her feathers are soft when her quirk is not activated.

Personality: Despite the many hardships in her life, Hanebi is a fun-loving girl. She likes to joke around and make her friends laugh, though she can sometimes get a little carried away and become physically rough. Hanebi also likes to listen to mostly goth and punk music, and is most likely the first to go along with some stupid prank her classmates might come up with. Her love language is randomly biting the people she cares about; mostly on the arm or shoulder, and never hard enough to draw blood. She knows her teeth are sharp.

History: Hanebi had a good childhood as she and her younger brother, Yuso, were raised alone by their mother, Umo. Unfortunately, when Hanebi was seven, Umo suffered a severe mental breakdown and disappeared overnight. It took days before she was found ranting to herself and attacking random people, and little seven year old Hanebi was helpless to help as her mother was institutionalized and diagnosed with severe paranoid schizophrenia. Umo was medicated, but she didn’t get much better.

This left Hanebi and Yuso alone, but only until their grandfather, Ogosoka, took custody of them. Ogosoka is fun-loving and a real joker, and he did his best to nurture his grandchildren’s hopes and dreams; as well as make sure his daughter got the help she needed. He was saddened and yet happy to keep the children when Umo decided to stay at the mental hospital, as she didn’t feel sane enough to care for her beloved son and daughter.

Hanebi tried her best to help take care of and raise Yuso in place of their missing mother, which has strained her relationship with him a little as he hates her mothering him. They often argue due to this. Despite this, Hanebi still cares deeply for her little brother and is quite protective over him.

Hanebi had to deal with some bullying thanks to her raptor-like hands (often called chicken feet hands by others), but she tried her best to ignore it as she helped protect other kids that were being bullied for their differences thanks to their quirks.

Hanebi decided she wanted to become a hero when she met the hero that found her mother and got her some help at the hospital. This hero’s name is Nagareboshi Hohoshi; better known as Starstruck. He keeps in contact with Hanebi and her still-institutionalized mother despite having had to retire after losing both legs and his dominant arm in a fight against a villain. Starstruck is the one that gave Hanebi a special recommendation to U.A..

Fun facts:

- The feathers that make up Hanebi’s hair and most of her forearms and tail are Majolica blue!

- Hanebi’s feather care routine is a complicated and timely process; it makes bathing a pain in the butt.

- Despite having mostly feathers for hair, Hanebi has actual hair beneath the feathers on her head that never grows longer than a few millimeters.

- The star shaved into the side of Hanebi’s head is a homage to Starstruck; the hero that found her mother when she had her mental breakdown and wandered off.

- Hanebi files the ends of her claws down daily so she doesn’t accidentally tear things. Unfiled, they are quite sharp and tear easily into cloth and flesh, as well as stone and even some metals.

- Despite their scaly look, Hanebi’s hands are quite soft and surprisingly dexterous.

- Other than naturally black and slightly pointed nails, Hanebi’s feet are completely normal.

- Hanebi’s tail is non-prehensile and makes things like wearing clothes or sitting down in certain chairs a little hard. It also makes sleeping on her back hard, too, and Hanebi has to be conscious of her tail at all times in order to not accidentally hit people or knock things over. When fighting with her brother, Hanebi has been known to lash out at him by whipping her tail much like an iguana might. She actually learned that little trick from her brother.

- Despite the tail problem, Hanebi actually likes to wear dresses around the house and to bed. She wears shorts under these dresses when they don’t have a hole for her tail. Hanebi also wears shorts under her school skirts; just in case.

- Hanebi has a bad habit of randomly sneaking up on people like she just appeared out of nowhere. She likes to startle people in the dark, as well. Her poor grandfather has nearly had many a heart attack, and her little brother is highly paranoid about going down the hall leading to their bedrooms since Hanebi has jumped out at him from the bathroom in said hall more than once.

- Hanebi’s favorite band is The Cure (her favorite song of theirs is “Burn”, from her favorite movie, The Crow), and she is most definitely low-key goth. Her family isn’t the richest, so she doesn’t have many articles of goth clothes except the baggy black pants with chains and three torn sweaters; one black and gray, one black and purple, and one black and red. She also doesn’t wear any make-up other than eyeliner outside of school.

- Hanebi loves to eat meat, but her favorites are chicken, turkey, and dried squid.

- Hanebi likes to collect fossils, though said collection is fairly small. She gets most of her fossils from her grandfather every year for her birthday and Yuletide. Her favorite fossil is an opalized ammonite she got from her mother when she was six.

- What little money Hanebi gets from doing odd jobs outside of school is used to help raise her little brother, who is three years younger than she is. She helps get him the clothes he needs, as well as the games he likes. It doesn’t matter how many times her grandfather tells her not to worry about it or how often her brother fights with her, Hanebi still does her best to take a maternal role with her brother since their mother cannot.

- Hanebi plans to use a good portion of the money from when she graduates and becomes a notable sidekick and hero to help get her little brother into a good tech-based school, seeing as Yuso is very skilled with with computers.

- Hanebi visits her mother in the mental institution a minimum of twice a week. Sometimes she goes along with her brother and grandfather, sometimes with Hohoshi (Starstruck), or often times alone. Her mother doesn’t talk much and usually just stares out the window in silence, but Hanebi still updates her on hers and her brother’s lives as she tidies up the room.

- Hanebi can be a little bit messy with her personal spaces or areas, though she simply calls this ‘controlled chaos’ and claims she knows where everything is in her clutter.

- Hanebi has a bad habit of body picking if she gets any scabs, though she doesn’t realize she’s picking the scabs until after the fact; another reason she keeps her claws filed down.

Thinking about Spencer’s relationship with his mother and how yeah, we know he loves her, but that seems like a great oversimplification of his feelings towards her.

I hesitate to call Diana a bad mother, because it wasn’t her fault Spencer’s childhood wasn’t ideal. (If anyone’s to blame, it’s William Reid) But at the same time, she wasn’t a good mother. And I think this confused Spencer growing up: If she loves me then why doesn’t she feed me or pay the bills or talk to me or try to get better? He doesn’t harbor an animosity towards her, and that’s good. But I imagine that maybe, at some point he did, and he had to reconcile his love for his mother with his anger towards being forced to grow up too fast. Thinking about this actually makes his hate towards William make more sense, because he is essentially the cause of Spencer’s childhood problems.

I don’t use technology often, if I can help it I don’t use it at all. But, I had to use it right now, there was something I needed to look up on the computer. It wasn’t for a case or anything, I was just too curious and too impatient to wait to go to the library.

Because I don’t use technology often at all, I didn’t own a personal laptop. The only one I regularly used was the one I was given at work, and that was done begrudgingly. Though I couldn’t use that one right now as I was at my apartment I shared with my girlfriend. My girlfriend however, happened to have a laptop that she wouldn’t mind me using.

When I opened up her laptop, it was already unlocked with a tab already opened. My eyes unintentionally quickly glazed over the page, my eyes widening as I flitted across the page. It was some sort of story, one that contained things that made me blush. At the end of what was visible without scrolling down it read,

His fingers twitched at his side when you blew cool air onto his length, you sneered again, “If you touch me I’ll stop.”

My own trousers started to grow a little tight after reading that, then confusion made its way into my face, wondering what in the world I was reading. I clicked around, not really knowing what I was doing and I fell into a wormhole of reading. It wasn’t until I glanced up to see who owned the documents it all clicked together. They were my girlfriend’s stories.

They were her stories about a slew of characters that already existed in other media, the first one I had read even happened to be about a Star Wars character- Poe to be specific. Once it all clicked together I slammed the computer shut, feeling like I had invaded her privacy. Then I swiftly got into a cold shower, ready to freeze my arousal and wash off my shame.

My foot was tapping even crazier than normal as I sat next to my girlfriend. We had decided on a night in, choosing to order take out and watch a few movies on a rare night off for me. It was her turn to choose, and unsurprisingly she chose Star Wars.

“What’s wrong?” She asked me when I started to basically vibrate when Poe came onto the screen. I couldn’t keep it in any longer, the guilt was eating me alive sitting here while I watched a constant reminder of what I read.

She finally did get a chance to cut me off by calling out my name, getting me to stop my nervous rant, “Are you mad- that I umm am writing about someone who’s not you?”

“No! It’s natural to be attracted to different people even while you’re with someone…” I was already falling down into another rant, this time however I caught myself and found the point I had been looking for, “I actually think it’s kind of hot.”

“Oh yeah?” Her eyebrows had shot up almost high enough that they were up into her hairline. I flushed a little at that, feeling vulnerable under her gaze even though I knew she always kept me safe.

“I- um actually was wondering if you could do to me-“ The words died on my tongue when my eyes met hers again, and just by her eyes I could see that she knew what I wanted. She just wanted me to say it out loud.

“What do you want me to do to you?”

“Wh-hat I read- can you umm-?”

She didn’t let me stumble any longer, cutting off my stuttering, “You want me to do the things you read about to you?”

I nodded vigorously, but that wasn’t enough for her. She leaned forward, grabbing my cheeks between two of her fingers, then prompting me, “Use your words.”
