One thing I noticed on S1E02-03 was how in focusing excessively on Sam’s manpain (not that I’m very fond of that word) they made Dean the more sympathetic character, pretty much on accident.

In Wendigo Sam was pretty much game for not doing the job taking the other people to safety but letting the wendigo keep roaming free (because he wanted to find John and get answers about Jess) while Dean was focused on helping them others first and then killing the thing. Then in Dead in The Water, again it was Dean who insisted on ‘‘killing every everything bad between here and there’’, while Sam wanted to focus just on finding their dad.

The fact that Dean, ever since the beginning, only ever wanted to help people is truly one of the reasons he’s such a compelling character. Even in the famous speech ‘‘Saving people, hunting things: the family business’’, saving people comes first.

I'm still not used to these recaps

That looks freezing. I've never been a big fan of the water

Andrea seems nice. I'm noticing a pattern here

As a Scottish person hearing all the Loch Ness speculation is fun

Dean being clueless around kids is a total mood

The water being the villain reminds me of the Doctor Who episode with The Flood

I wasn't expecting that...I think I'll avoid sinks for a while

Mr Carlton seems a little sus

Dean's back story is making me emotional

I really want Sam to hug him, but they REALLY don't seem the type

The acting in this episode is really top tier

What a sweet ending

That was an amazing episode. Definitely my favourite so far, I was captivated from start to finish. It was a perfect mix of character development and horror. I hope things continue to develop like this onwards.
