RTD is so in love with David Tennant that it makes him look stupid, huh.

#listen friends i dont know what to feel #i love everyone involved #I'm so happy that Donna has her memories back and will spend the rest of her life with her best friend by her side #but that ending felt like it was straight out of a christmas Hallmark movie; my teeth ache from all that saccharine sweetness #I'll be able to justify it if RTD is setting the stage for bringing Tennant and Tate into his UNIT spin-off which seems to be in the works #if that's not the reason it's hard for me to swallow this plot twist with the biregeneration #firstly: RTD did something similar at the end of the fourth season—splitting the Doctor to “give” one version to Rose #it's a bit annoying to see him essentially do the same now by letting another version of the Doctor to stay with Donna #secondly: I missed the emotion in this #I spent a week bracing myself for heartbreak but we went a bit too far in the other direction #we got a cutesy ending where everything resolves through a deus ex machina #yet it’s those bitter and grief-soaked moments are what RTD has always excelled at #when it comes to the Doctor's regeneration and farewells to companions #it's hard to feel much about this plot development #some things should remain final and some goodbyes and endings are unavoidable #the conclusion of Rose’s arc (both from s2 and s4) or Donna's ending in s4 #were among the most emotionally intense moments in the history of television #I missed a bit of that here #perhaps if there were more bitterness in the 14th Doctor's ending if he had to pay some PRICE for this biregeneration #(like not getting his TARDIS #being told that the Fifteenth takes over the regeneration ability #and the Tennant Doctor will die of old age) #emotionally it would have provided viewers with a cool punch #without that it seems like RTD wanted to have his cake and eat it too #have a new Doctor and give his old characters a last-minute happy ending that doesn't make much logical sense #I was hoping to feel more considering how much I love these characters #but my main reaction is an eyeroll #on the positive side I really hope to see Neil Patrick Harris in the show again he was a great villain #and Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor is already so freaking great!!! <3 #doctor who

let me just say that tdpi is one of my least favorite seasons and I deeply dislike most of its canon events, but the cast is one of my favorites to write and analyze

#it’s so much easier for me to think up ideas involving them than any other cast member #they’re like one big. found family? I suppose they do have those vibes if they were done to full potential #basically they’re one big group in my head and I love picking them apart and figuring them out #they’d equally give each other so much shit and (in some cases) stick up for each other. I love how I can just flesh them out more #they’re so underrated but I can’t help loving how much of a chaotic mess they are #the sheer POTENTIAL is wack #even as a kid I connected most with tdpi despite not liking it #I mean. that was the only season I actually wrote a plan for a spin-off season abt #no one else got that kinda treatment #it’s so weird. like I don’t like the season but. there’s so much that can be done for it #that’s what pulls at me #don’t get me wrong I like the other seasons and (most) of its cast tdpi just hits differently bc it sucks lmaoo #kit stuff #total drama #tdpi #total drama pahkitew island #noahtally-famous #on that note who wants to hear abt this supernatural au thingie I thought up involving the tdpi cast— *gets shot*

The Marisom brain worms are so real

#beckett mariner #jack ransom #marisom #I don't even like ... have head canons to share #I'm just spinning the two of them in my head 24 seven #I feel so insane about them #like when I first got into the fandom I was sort of like #oh hahah wouldn't it be funny if these two hooked up #but the more I rewatch the show and engage in fandom stuff the more I'm like - oh my god #the way their relationship changes and develops over he course of the series is so good?? #and they get a minimum of one episode dedicated to their relationship per season #like we arguably got more Marisom content in season 4 than Marinler content #and also just like... the way Jack so clearly grows to actually care about Beckett #and he wants to see her do well and improve even when her trauma makes her resistant to it #he's willing to stick out the hard stuff to help her get there #and he also just like ... genuinely seems to understand her better than any of the other characters on the show #like yeah Mariner's friends and mom lover her and want her to get better too #but Jack is the only one who figured out that she had trauma around ranking up that needed to be delt with #he's the only one who noticed how much Mariner and Freeman hated working together #and despite Mariner insisting that he's stupid #he's the only character in the show that's regularly able to change her mind when she's already made it up #he pushes her to be her best self in a way no one else does #and Mariner is too in her head and dealing with too much in the show to really recognize and appreciate that #even if she does seem at least a little aware that they have good chemistry #but tbh what makes it a good ship is that Jack is so willing to wait for her to get there #anyways I know this is all delusional rambling #just ignore me

huh. well. that was quite the ride indeed. Spoilers for The Mentalist season 4 finale below, as well as mild spoilers for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. lol

I did in fact enjoy it while it lasted, seeing Jane being unhinged will always be a delight.

Seeing Lisbon in a church was oddly soothing, and the ensuing Jisbon shenanigans were lovely.

Was something of a surprise to see the lady from Superman and Lois, but her character was cool. Very fun. Pretty. Hot. Curious. I keep making AoS comparisons (which is high praise, for the record) but she kinda gives season 2 Ward vibes /pos. Again, iykyk.

Love love love having the whole team in on the plan, that's always a fun time. Unfortunately things felt a bit rushed, probably a side effect of having been pampered by the double-episode finale last season. Everything just happened kinda fast in this one, not as much push and pull or obstacles and whatnot. Not that I particularly mind, it was a fun experience the whole way through and that's what I'm looking for.

As always, very excited to keep watching and see where the next season takes us.
