An alternative take on how Ricky reacted when he found out Professor Pericles had murdered Cassidy 😢💔

The only one of us left that was worth saving, the only person left on Earth who might have given a shit about you, and he killed her. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. It’s all your fault. You killed her. You killed her! You killed her! “If it is any consolation, my sweet Ricky, she likely did not suffer.” Pericles said. “They say that drowning is one of the most peaceful ways to die. If the explosion didn’t kill her instantly.”  “Fuck you.” Ricky wheezed.  “What?”   “FUCK YOU! You bastard!” Ricky roared. “You were always jealous of her! All because you wanted me all to yourself, you just couldn’t let me have anyone else that I loved! And look at what you’ve done to us!” Ricky wasn’t afraid anymore. He didn’t care anymore. He felt as if he was watching from the outside as just a tiny splash of the years of repressed anguish spilled out of him. “Brad and Judy threw away their own son like garbage for that stupid treasure! Anyone with eyes can see what I’ve become! Cassidy was the only one of us who was strong enough to stay good in spite of that stupid curse - in spite of you! And YOU KILLED HER!”

I did this with the Mystery Skulls Animated and SDMI art styles in mind, with some anime influence too.

Also, anyone who's ever tried drawing Mr. E before: I found it surprisingly difficult to draw his eyes in a different style, given how stylized they are in SDMI.

This was drawn initially in pencil (just a regular #2 pencil, because I am poor 🥲) and with a six-pack set of black alcohol-based lineart markers by Spectrum Noir. (Okay, so I'm not totally poor)

I was originally going to color this, but then the line art came out so fire that I couldn't bring myself to do it. I am however planning to trace this onto another page in the near future and color it.

My first time sketching traditionally in about 9-10 years. I used Jazza's Pro Sketch Pack, and I ADORE it!!! My more realistic looking drawing seems to be better than cartoonish, which is... odd to me XD.

(This was just a 0.7 mechanical pencil, BG2 Illustrator, and coloring pencils tangerine and petrol blue. All are by Spectrumnoir.)
