THE "What Was I Made For" ANIMATIC IS COMPLETE!!! I AM FREEEE. In all seriousness, I really enjoyed making this one. I try to improve with each animation I do, so to walk away after spending days on a video and feeling like I've improved is a success in my book, even if I don't get many views.
Here are some silly little collages of the drawings I made for it. And here is the embedded link to the video below! Though I'd appreciate it if you would go to the video page and leave a like/comment if you enjoy it! :)

And if you like the video, be sure to reblog here! Tho the video got blocked in Belarus and Russia...sorry about that guys. :/

Day 7: bad habits
.
.
1587,
Madrid
“Are you sure it’s wise?”
Spain looked away from the fire and turned his head to the side to blink at Austria on the armchair beside his. “What is?”
“This invasion plan.”
He looked back at the fire, took another sip of his wine. “Someone needs to stop England.”
“Yes, but—”
“France can’t or won’t do it. England’s been harboring our enemies, financing the Dutch against us. Did you know he struck a deal with the Ottomans?”
“But why does it have to be you?”
Spain turned to look at Austria beside him again, facing his pinched eyebrows over the rim of his glasses, the admonishing tight press of his lips. He felt an ugly stir in his chest, his temper rising, suddenly uncomfortable in his own quarters. He hated how Austria always treated him like a child when they were alone. Spain would prove that he could stomach an Empire.
“Because I’m the only one who can,” was all he said, ending the conversation, turning his head to face the fire.
He heard him make a small noise of restrained disbelief that sounded like an accusation to his ears, and didn’t even turn to see him rising to his feet and straightening his clothes. “Can I expect you in my chambers this evening?” Austria asked, laying a light hand on his shoulder, fingers timidly caressing the embroidery of his collar, but Spain gave him a quick look and shifted uncomfortably on his armchair, away from him, feeling like a scolded schoolboy, his cheeks heating from more than the fire in front of him.
“Maybe, I don’t know,” he mumbled, non-committedly, “You don’t have to stay up.”
Austria’s hand retreated from his shoulder and he almost looked… disappointed? Spain could never read him right. Their marriage was only political, they didn’t have to mix business with pleasure and blurry the lines between them. Austria nodded to himself and his expression smoothed back into neutrality. If he wanted them to be something more, why wouldn’t he say so? Spain couldn’t understand him. Things were better this way.
“As you wish, my Lord,” Austria limited himself to say. “I’ll leave the door unlocked in case you change your mind.”
He watched him go with a frown and sighed when the door closed behind him. Spain took another sip of his wine.
Without a second thought he was up, crossing the room and the darkened corridors, going down a flight of stairs before knocking on one of the doors. An old servant answered, clearly distraught from being woken in the middle of the night, grumbling as she let him into the apartments and went to check if her mistress could see him.
“My Lord,” Belgium candidly called, coming out of her chambers closing a light blue and pink embroidered robe over her chemise, her blonde hair loose over her shoulder, smelling like a spring flower in bloom. “I wasn’t expecting your visit.”
He took her smaller hands in his, weaver hands, still calloused from working on the loom before Spain brought her and her brother to the palace, away from her older brother’s rebellious influence. He rubbed his thumbs over her knuckles.
“Do you want me to leave?”
Belgium closed her fingers over his, meeting his gaze when he looked into her eyes. Why couldn’t Austria look at him like this, why couldn’t he tug his hands like she did, guide him through the doors to his chambers, lead him to his bed. Belgium had no qualms telling him exactly what she wanted. And he liked how her hands tugged hard on his hair, how her legs wrapped tight around his hips, how her husky voice whispered praise in his ear. You are invincible, she would say, you are the Spanish Empire.
He liked it better this way.

I'd love to know more about Emma in your Regency AU, given the fact she was in the description of it
I don't talk about Emma nearly enough! In the Regency AU she and Arthur are engaged of course, but it's more of a convenience thing rather than a romantic pursuit. Emma's family, headed by Jan, is part of the Nederland's Patriciaat. They're kind of like unofficial nobility, they have wealth and influence, but they lack a title. The Peeters family got this position as successful merchants- the problem is that by 1810, the French have put that in jeopardy. Jan had been doing business in England for a number of years because of the war, but the French takeover made it difficult for him to exercise any power and authority in the Netherlands, and messed with his business in the Indian Ocean to boot. Emma, therefore, becomes a means to an end: if she can marry a member of the English nobility, their family will have some attachment to "truly" noble blood and a money safety-net. The fact that it's Arthur, whose family is also involved in maritime trade and who has influence in the British navy makes their situation even better.
Emma has always known what her role was going to be, and for the most part she'd accepted that. She's bubbly, inviting, good at parties. She's a queen of society, and she knows it. She also understands that securing that kind of life is the end of the bargain she gets from marrying Arthur. That's not to say that she never wanted a loving marriage, but more so that she spent years telling herself it wasn't worth waiting for one, especially when Jan had his own interests to look after. If Arthur wasn't infatuated with Francis, it's likely they might have had an actual loving marriage. She doesn't exactly know it's Francis at first, but she gathers pretty quickly that Arthur's heart is in another place that he can't present to society. She's at least got the consolation that she'll have Molly's company and Arthur will be gone for long stretches of time at sea.
What shakes this "perfect" arrangement up is Antonio. He makes his way to England through Joao, as a favor to his own fiancee, Anneliese. He was also a family friend to Lovino and Feliciano, giving him someone else to stick around for. Anneliese and Antonio are also headed toward a marriage of convenience, that is until Antonio sets eyes on Emma. The two start having a bit of a flirtation back and forth, especially as they start acting as "chaperones" for Molly and Lovino. It gets serious, and it's probably one of the first relationships Emma has ever gotten any emotional fulfilment out of aside from Molly, Lovino, and her younger brother, Alexander. It really forces her to reckon with whether or not she's willing to give up the prospect of having status for a future in which she's happy and fulfilled. She sort of overcorrects, and ends up projecting onto Molly, almost fucking up her relationship in the process as well. In the end, she really ends up kind of being a matchmaker around the ton, which in turn rehabilitates some of her views on her own love life and forces her to work with Antonio even more.
All in all, if I ever actually wrote this fic (maybe someday when I'm not booked up with an internship!), Emma would 100% be one of the more central characters. She's the one whose arc I really have the most thought out, and she's one of the strings that ties a lot of people together.

EngBelg and/or SpaBelg for your ship grading?
A/B for both of them!! ✨
Belgium is a wonderful, bubbly, fun and intelligent woman. A massively underrated character! The headquarters of the EU is in Brussels and that's no accident; she's been through two World Wars and came out the other side more resilient. She adapted! Other traits: she can drink everyone else in Europe under the table, she has a loving + HEALTHY relationship with her family (even if they had rough patches in the past), and she brightens up every pairing that she's a part of. And by the way, HAVE YOU SEEN her baking skills?? NGL, when I was younger, I often dreamed about dating a lady like her... So for me, automatically any pairing with Belgium gets at least a C or higher!
From a dynamic standpoint: I've written both of these pairings in fanfics, and while they turned out super different, some key takeaways were that SpaBelg leans more open, silly, and cute (for me). Whereas EngBelg feels more reserved, but no less deeply loving. These are just the vibes I got when I wrote them.
There's also a historical basis for these ships, and I adore my history classes.
For SpaBelg, I've read other fic authors who took this pair very seriously and explored the history of the Spanish Netherlands. My knowledge is woefully lacking in this area, so I won't embarrass myself by yammering about things I haven't researched.
HOWEVER. I personally HC England and Belgium's relationship beginning in the 1860's, after "The Luxembourg Crisis". This was a diplomatic dispute over the political status of Luxembourg that almost led to war, but was peacefully resolved by the Treaty of London. The UK was happy to host the talks as they feared that the absorption of Luxembourg by another power would weaken its strategic ally on the continent: Belgium. So these two were already on amicable terms by that point! It's also VERY appealing when a potential romantic partner shows they will defend your family. And from a practical sense, this just showed them both that, hey, it's in our best interests to stick together! Alliance... consummated!
Anyways I wish these pairings were more popular. Thank you for letting me rave about them. 💜

Made some hetalia ships out of picrew! <3 and some thoughts about certain au’s.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Romerica: they both are cute farmers, Catherine is an Italian immigrant and Alfred is a city boy who has recently moved near her farm uwu. He thinks he’s the shit but he comes off as boyish and awkward. Catherine is frankly very annoyed with his antics, nonetheless he’s a hardworking boy when it comes down to it and she respects that.
Fraita: Francis is an aristocrat who has fallen for middle class Alicia, she has no idea what does the guy wants and he’s pretty intimidated and shy to say anything much. She works for his cousin and so he decides to ask the man for advice on how to woo a certain Italian mademoiselle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gerhun: Ludwig is a young man who has fallen for an older woman, Erzsebeta, strong and beautiful. Confused and also very intimidated, he decides to try his best and plans to get closer to her, to get to know her better. His feelings are pretty obvious to the lady, finding him rather endearing and gentlemanly, not bad at all if she says so herself.
Prukraine: Gilbert finally requests Kateryna to pay him a visit at his estate to which she agrees, they both are aristocratic, Kateryna finds him charming, handsome and respectful while he is absolutely smitten by the wonderful woman. they are about to have a picnic :3 Ivan might know about this, but as long as it strengthens relationships it doesn’t matter. albeit he is wary, nonetheless they both enjoy each other’s company.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruseng: Anya has visited England to discuss some diplomatic matters, Arthur blushes at her beauty and tries to cover it up by chastising her for not wearing proper winter clothes; Anya is taken aback by his concerns although it’s not that cold for her but doesn’t object to him as he leads her towards his home to get her a scarf. she finds it very charming and adorable.
Scotfra: Alistair and Francine are on a date in Paris after many years they have decided to finally get together once again. Alistair is very excited and Francine remembers the moments and the reasons she had chosen him, in the end. these both charming and insufferable dorks are very much in love no matter what anyone else says.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nedtai: Taiwan has once again dragged her lover during a winter evening to have a little date with lots of snacks and a movie night with their friends. Lars is not amused in the slightest, he would be lying tho, if he said that seeing her happiness doesn’t make him feel happiness too.
Ruspan: they both are classmates; hanging out with their friends, Ivan decides to give Sakura a flower in secret as he calls her cute; the idiot not knowing his crushing so hard on her. the others decide to let him figure it out himself as they watch the couple in amusement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Spabel: Childhood friends au. enough said. Emma has visited Spain after a long time and Antonio is more than delighted to accompany her and in the process, maybe ask her to stay with him during the stay. It’s been a long time since they met after all. call it a surprise date.
Romabel: Lovino is a simple farmer who is completely smitten by the supposedly ice princess; Natalya who is just a simple upper class girl, having no intentions to return the man’s advances. until one day, she pulls him along with her and orders him to be her date for the dance. blushing and scowling at the same time. not that he’s complaining, an absolutely beautiful lady asking him for a dance and you think he would say no? not happening.

Oh! I just saw your prompt list 🤩 I would just die to see you write SpaBel with 69; maybe even in combination with 75 if that’s not too difficult… Thank you in advance!!
hope you don't mind, but i've just stuck to the one prompt, purely because 75 is apparently a popular one :') either way, i hope you enjoy!
New
Antonio is nervous—more nervous than he has felt in a while.
Night has fallen, the moon high in the sky and distant stars twinkling above. As far as he knows, everyone is in bed. A few guards may lurk around the place, fulfilling their patrolling duties, but otherwise, the only other creatures that are wandering will be Antonio himself, and, if all is according to plan, E—
"A pleasant night for a stroll, no?" a voice coos, and Antonio turns his head to the right to find that Emmeline approaches under the cover of shadows and her cloak.
Antonio smiles. "It would seem so," he replies, before gesturing in the direction of the path that leads around the back of the palace and towards the gardens. “Will you walk with me?”
“Of course,” she nods and smiles back at him, “it would be my pleasure.”
And a pleasure it truly is, Antonio finds, as their stroll gets underway. The weather is perfect—not too cold, not too breezy—and they remain completely undisturbed (and unperceived) during the short time it takes to reach the flower gardens.
(Spring is a nice time of year. Not Antonio’s favourite, no, but it is apparently Emmeline’s. It has something to do with new life, new beginnings, new opportunities…)
The flowers that now grow in Spain’s garden are ones that he asked her to choose. They are an assortment of colours, vibrant, whimsical, enchanting. He thinks the same of her. Not that he has ever said so, nor dreamed of doing so. That is— That is a frightful thing to do, and perhaps not entirely appropriate, considering their… their positions, their situations.
And yet, he tells himself conversely, here you are, spending time with her, indulging in a secret meeting and a secret walk and secret conversations.
Antonio can barely explain to himself his own actions. All he knows is that, whenever Emmeline looks at him, he can’t help but smile. Is that so wrong…?
They arrive at a fountain surrounded by stone benches, rose bushes, and moonlight. Antonio invites Emmeline to sit down, offering a hand, and, once she takes a seat, he sits down next to her. Behind them, water trickles. In front of them, the palace sits in near darkness—the palace, its inhabitants, and people who would no doubt be mortified, if not outraged, that they are together.
“It feels quite strange, to do this sort of thing,” Emmeline quietly muses after a moment. Her gaze turns to the gardens around, but Antonio, transfixed, is unable to pry his eyes away from her. “I never imagined myself sneaking off somewhere in secret with a man, you know.”
“W— Well, I, uh— I can’t really say that I have done this before, either,” Antonio remarks in turn. “Not with a woman.”
At that, she gives a soft laugh. “But you have done this with a man?”
Antonio smiles weakly. “You know me, Emma,” he responds. “I have quite the history…”
“Don’t say that too loudly,” Emmeline jokes with him. “I would hate for people to start thinking anything untoward about you.”
As indirect as it may be, it is flattering to him nonetheless, and Antonio thanks her; it is a mutual feeling.
Conversation turns in due course to what they think of each other, however, and that is a conversation that is a bit harder to have. For as honest as Antonio believes himself to be—even brutally so—it is one thing to tell someone exactly what you think of them, and another to… to tell someone what you think of them.
Still, it is unavoidable tonight.
Emmeline starts by saying how much she has been enjoying Antonio’s company as of late. He agrees; he feels the same way about her.
That time can be as simple as sitting together in a library, or Emmeline playing the piano while Antonio sits at her side and listens, or going on garden walks like this, or venturing further afield on horseback to explore the Spanish countryside. Simple, but effective. Special.
“You know, you are a lot kinder than I used to imagine you would be,” she then says, though it is not too surprising to hear. “You have been very good to me, in fact, no matter what my brother may think.”
Antonio is merely glad she thinks so.
“Your brother is, uh… He is a curious one,” he remarks, “but I don’t see myself falling into his favour any time soon.” And then, he leans in a bit closer, voice quietening, and he says, “To be honest, he is a little intimidating…”
It makes her laugh again, soft, wistful. God, forgive him…
“He means well. He’s just looking out for me, as he always has done, even if… I don’t think it necessary—not while I am living here.”
“You trust me that much?”
“Oh, whole-heartedly,” Emmeline assures him. “I trust you more than I could possibly describe. It is like I said: you have been very good to me, and I… Well, I…”
“…you…?”
“…Spain, can I—?”
“Antonio, please. You know you can call me that,” he insists, to which she smiles, and then starts again:
“Antonio, there is something I want to ask you—something I have wanted to ask you for a few days, really.”
He is surprised, and invites her to go ahead; he will listen without interrupting her.
Yet, just as he expects Emmeline to go ahead and say whatever it is that seems to have been on her mind, she instead slowly starts to… get closer. She leans in. Antonio glances at her lips once more then back at her, and, oh, is this really happening? Are they about to do what he thinks they are about to do? Are they really about to defy all odds and obstacles and ki—
“España.”
Antonio jumps out of his skin and swears rather vulgarly. He would regret it faster, if it weren’t for the royal guard suddenly looming over them.
He must have come from behind them, along the garden path.
“I apologise if I have disturbed you,” the man says. “I just want to make sure you are both alright.”
Antonio takes a breath and replies, “We are fine, thank you. You may continue on your way; we won’t be outside for much longer.”
The guard nods and does not linger; he turns on his heel and proceeds to trail along the path towards the palace, without further comment, without glancing back at them.
Once out of earshot, Antonio tuts. “Unbelievable,” and, once more, Emmeline’s laugh comes to bless his ears and make him feel better.
“Come on,” she says, rising to her feet. In her hand, she promptly takes Antonio’s, encouraging him to join her. “Perhaps we should go somewhere more private, no?”
Antonio stands and very nearly wobbles. “Somewhere more private?” the Spaniard repeats, feeling his cheeks warming (he hopes she cannot tell).
“Of course. We have been interrupted, and there is a chance it may happen again,” Emmeline warns him. “So, will you join me?”
“I mean, I suppose I could,” he says, “if you want me to.”
“Good, because I do.”
“You— You do?”
“Yes,” Emmeline promises him. “I do.”

have you considered: spain x belgium
Not until I've read this 👀🔥
No actually, to be super honest, I wrote Spabel before as a side ship in a fanfic many many many years ago (I was 17 lol 11 years ago), but I have never really explored it much. I did her pretty dirty in that fic, I really just needed someone for Spain to cheat on Romano with 😅
I'd probably enjoy fanarts and maybe some one-shot fic, but despite being a multishipper, I have a harder time multishipping Spain than I do passing Austria around 🤔 And I don't really know Belgium much as a character. She's super cute and adorable though 💕

🎵There is nothing can bend the will like half-Castilian men🎵
Emma and Antonio are both in engagements that are planned to lead to marriages of convenience, both hoping for legitimacy among the nobility. Emma's family is one of the Dutch Patriciaat, families who are important but lack noble titles (similar to England's landed gentry). Antonio is illegitimate, but has been left a sizeable inheritance by his father (leaving João none too pleased). Arthur of course wants to secure his family line, as none of his children are able to inherit. Anneliese sees marrying Antonio as avoiding annoying questions about why she hasn't married, and he is content to let her continue her romance with Erzsebet.
The trouble is that they met each other, and all of a sudden those plans began to seem a little less appealing. Breaking engagements however, are not simple affairs. Especially for Emma.
