I think it’s...rather clear that this manga/anime holds a lot of importance to me and I wouldn’t want it to be missing in my life. The joy I’ve got out of it and the memories I’ve made are just too precious!

So, given the occasion that it has been exactly 10 years ever since Shokugeki got published in Shonen Jump today....I just had to do a tribute-piece somehow ;v;

Ahhhh I'm not sure i'm the best to ask about pregnancy HCs, but I do have thoughts on how some of the Hakuouki boys would do babysitting with you! Hope that's an okay substitution 😘

🖤Amagiri- 100% in control. Patient, practiced, kind, he can help babysit kids of any age and will be able to keep conversation with you throughout the intermingling of kids conversations and questions! You'll happily be chatting about what you want for the future while playing your third round of 'Go Fish' with the kids, get asked "Do Caterpillars poop?", and Amagiri will be able to respond eloquently and correctly (yes, a lot, in pellet form much like a small rodent), and then smoothly continue your conversation whether it be "I do hope any future children of ours could inherit my well-defined cheekbones" or "I'm excited to see you progress in your career, I'll make sure to keep dinner warm on the table during your late nights". <3

❤️Sano- He's enjoys being around kids, even if he isn't "the best" at knowing what to do with him. Still, your favorite "date", if you could call it that, was babysitting twin 3 year olds with him. Watching him trying to hide that tall and lanky (begrudgingly handsome) frame behind a kid's sized chair for hide and seek, smiling on and cheering against him as they chased him in circles around the backyard for hours, and hearing the different inflections in his voice for different characters when the four of you snuggled up for their bedtime stories, all created a lasting memory of fun and laughter in your heart!

💚Souma- Fucking it up in the least damaging and hilarious way, which all in all means he does a pretty good job as your co-babysitter, so long as you're there to help clean up the mess. School age kids LOVE him, but they also love to tease and torture him. The kids you babysit together, ages 5 &7, know damn well how to get what they want out of him and con him into playing what they want to play. Homework? No, thank you! It's actually way past the time you were meant to show up for your haircut Kazue! Where do you think you're going?? Sit in this chair! Unfortunately for him, this will not have been the first time one of the kids have snuck a real pair of scissors into the mix and given him an "asymmetrical bob" before...

🤍Kazama- Might surprise some of you with this, but read it through before disagreeing with me! Kazama is fantastic with babies. Would he admit it? Absolutely not. But they love to coo and laugh at his various facial expressions (even his 'serious' ones) as he holds them, and something about his temperament is a true baby-sleep-whisperer to them. He won't forget to slide in comments about how, "It's cute, but ours would be cuter", and reminding you that you ARE betrothed to him and this could be your future soon enough. The cutest part? When you go to put down the baby for a nap, Kazama takes them from you and, a little degradingly, tells you that he "can do it better, you can just take a rest". The walls aren't that thick, so you can hear him lowly singing a lullaby that you'd never heard before to the baby in the rocking chair next door, and you snuggle up on the couch with a cup of warm cocoa daydreaming about your future together <3

I'm bad at remembering what happened during the year except for Ensemble Stars and I love a lot of what we got.

Altered and Blackbird Oh my god. This was something I couldn't have even dreamed getting. There's so much in it... like Eichi calling Wataru by his first name for the first time, all the additions to past lore, that Rei scene with Tsumugi, Natsume admitting he wanted to be like Eichi, Nagisa again reminding ex-fine had good times too, Wataru bragging about his love life and THIS line from Eichi.

And the whole of Blackbird. Everything about it. Aaaaaaaa~

And Dawning Angels! New ex-fine/fine-O song! And I love it's performed in current time, not in the past. Again something I didn't ever even dared to dream. Twilight Pentagram is great too.

Angelic Grace This song has become almost as dear to me as Feathers of Ark, it's such a beautiful song. ❤️ Aaaaaa, I love fine so much!!!

Atlantis and Element too, Atlantis had great moments for Tori, interesting ones for Wataru and stressful few days for fineP. xD Oh and Eichi and Yuzuru were funny in it. :D And Dreaming Ocean is such a cute song and the MV so pretty! Element was nice to get animated again, it's great they took bits from Wonder Game and added Blackbird as last episode to make it fuller experience. Oh and hey, MVs for Genuine Revelation and Eccentric Party Night! <3

Knight Killers This was a surprise, Crush of Judgment getting MV and a new Knight Killers story and cards... Can we get a new song for them too? (It's kinda amazing Nazuna and Eichi are in the same temp unit and they have even reunited TWICE now.)

Oh and hey that Hiyori 3* card story where Hiyori, Nagisa, Eichi and Tsumugi played boardgames the whole day. ❤️ Exactly something I've been wanting for.

In non-fine stuff:

Double Face WTF. Waaaaahhh I haven't still completely digested the unit is no more. At least they left us with a banger in the form of Nebula.

New Adam and Eve songs! Again something I wasn't expecting, I thought the Eden subunits would be just mentions in stories at this point.

And Alkaloid's Black Out See Saw surprised me, what a bold song. Definitely one of the best I've heard this year. And the best Valkyrie song came out, Meikyuu Denshi Kairo!!

Oh and a few mentions for scout stories. I loved Biblion and Scorpio's Venom and Kaoru being a good senpai in them, Manga Club was fun because damn they won Eiichiro Oda's autograph, Fair Waltz gave us Eichi doing fighting moves and of course there was the Kanata & co. lookback (with the most adorable Souma card).

Obviously I liked a lot more stuff but this is getting long...

P.S. Oh and actually the last two cover songs which I love dearly, i.e. Starlight Parade and Yoru ni kakeru, came out too.

Hello I would like to ask you which ryuseitai stories you’d recommend? I want to like them more but I don’t know them very well so I thought understanding them as a unit and as characters may help with my goal, have a lovely day!!

Hi Anon, thank you so much for the ask! I'm kind of honored you'd ask me about this actually... this got a bit long so I've put it under a read more cut, but under that I have written out what I'd recommend as a reading guide to Ryuseitai... keep in mind I wouldn't consider myself a definitive expert on this and a lot of my recommended stories/reading order is just opinion! But hopefully this helps you out ❤️ I've also included links to translations/notes on where to find stories.

So! The first story I'd start with for Ryuseitai is Supernova. This is just overall a good introduction to the unit, it shows off their respective characters and early dynamics with each other starting out really well IMO. This is also the Ryuseitai story the anime chooses to adapt so that sort of backs me up on this as an intro I suppose haha.

After that I'd recommend some of the other lighter event stories from ! era, like School Festival 4 or Sweet Halloween. School Festival 4 has a bit of everyone, like Supernova! It's just a fun read that again helps get a better read on the early Ryuseitai dynamics. Sweet Halloween is also a Ra*bits story and has some cute Hajime and Tomoya interactions, as a bonus if you like them, but on the Ryuseitai side it focuses largely on Chiaki. Ryuseitai as a unit benefits from having a dedicated translator for it, so I get to include links for basically every story here which is nice!

I'd also rec Orihime and Hikoboshi, which is Ryuseitai's Tanabata Festival story shared with Trickstar! It's got some really nice interactions with Shinobu and Mao (they are friends and it's sooo sweet), and some... tense but narratively interesting interactions between Midori and Subaru. And as a bonus, Chiaki and Kanata are not the focus here and don't show up for a lot of the story, but I think the interactions they do get in this story are very silly.

(I'd also recommend: Scroll of the Elements if you're enjoying Shinobu, which is a shared story with Akatsuki that focuses on him and Souma. Buddy is also a cute gacha story focusing on Chiaki, and Christmas Live is more a 2wink story than a Ryuseitai story, but has some cute moments for Ryuseitai in it, especially featuring Shinobu and Tetora's friendships with Yuta and Hinata respectively. You can get away with skipping these, though.)

Climax is Ryuseitai's Repayment Festival story, and is the second-to-last ! era story I'd say is "required reading" for them. This one focuses a lot on Midori, and is really important for his character development, but by the nature of being set before graduation it's got moments for everyone.

Lastly... Meteor Impact, the one everyone knows about because it's a bit famous in the fanbase. This one is a longer and heavier read than just about anything else I've recommended so far, as it's Ryuseitai's Reminiscence story focusing on Chiaki and Kanata during the War. It's important to read this last. It gets hyped up a lot, and people get excited for you to read it, but it loses a lot of its impact if you haven't read at least some other Ryuseitai stories first. Take your time with reading this one, it's got a lot in it and you'll want to be sure you can process all of it. If you're a fan of Akatsuki or Madara, they've also got some good moments in here.

(If you're liking Kanata after reading Meteor Impact, you can also read Aquarium and Comic World, which are both a bit lighter Kanata stories that just read a bit better with the context of that lore.)

MOVING ON TO !! ERA... and oh God this got long I'm so sorry we're only just now getting to this section... you will want to know what happens in the !! Main Story to proceed with Ryuseitai stories. If you haven't read this already, it is really hard to find any full fan translations of it online, but it's available to read for free in the ENGstars app.

Motor Show is the first event story in !! era for them, shared with Alkaloid. It establishes the status quo for Ryuseitai at the start of !! era, with the unit split into two sections: "Ryuseitai-M" led by Chiaki (the same format as before) and operating as ES idols, and "Ryuseitai-N" led by Tetora within Yumenosaki. Focuses on Tetora struggling with growing into his role as a leader of the unit.

After this is Comet Show, which is... a heavier one. This is Chiaki's center event, and establishes the main conflict that's going to continue throughout the next few !! era event stories. Ironically, despite being Chiaki's center, this also has some really standout Midori moments in it.

(If you're looking for something lighter to read before moving on to the next story, and you're a Midori fan, you can also read the Dollhouse gacha story. Chiaki's shuffle unit story, Date Plan, is also cute and expands on his friendship with Kaoru. I don't have a translation link for Date Plan, but it is available on ENGstars.)

Submarine is the shared SS arc story for Ryuseitai, paired with Akatsuki again! (Can you tell there's a lot of connections between these units...) It is very important to have read Meteor Impact and Comet Show before reading this or you'll be confused. I read this early and I didn't really understand it lmao.

This one isn't quite so plot important, but is actually more lighthearted unlike a lot of the other !! era Ryuseitai event stories so I recommend reading it, Ninja Clan is Shinobu's center event! It's a fun read. Shinobu I love you.

Next up is the Big One, Tetora's center, Supervillain, which features another major status quo change for the unit, some really good character development for Tetora my beloved, and resolution of the conflict that's spanned across Comet Show and Submarine.

After this the most recent event story is Tropical, Midori's center. It's fun and relaxing after Supervillain, and focuses on the unit adjusting to their new arrangement. Optionally, if you're a Kanata fan and liked Meteor Impact, there's also a recent lookback scout ABYSS dropped for him recently that focuses on his childhood with Madara and Souma.

Mima never posted anything on his SNS and only recently made the account bcs Shun and Souma peer-pressured him to make one. He didn't know a thing how social media worked nowadays. His followers were only the mawarimichi group and he didn't tell his colleagues. Mima and Hayate has been dating for a while. In their one year anniversary, they had dinner date and Hayate surprised him with a present. Mima suprised the younger by gifting him a couple ring. Promising to be with each other forever, he took a close-up picture of their fingers intertwined, showing their rings. Feeling emotional and so in love, he uploaded for the 1st time in his sns, convinced that only Motoharu Shun Souma who will see it (Hayate also doesn't do SNS much). Caption: "I've never felt luckier, thank you for blessing my life by being with me". They all liked and commented on the post. Who knew, next day his office was in uproar thinking Mima had secretly tied a knot with a girl. His fanclub all bombarded him with questions and since Mima didn't deny but also didn't say who his lover was, the fanclub swore to hunt this secret lover because 'Mima-san belongs to everyone, so he has to stay bachelor'. Feeling worried about Hayate's safety he consulted to Souta and Souta just said if he was ready and going steady why not try to introduce Hayate. After thinking about it, Mima thought it was about time so in the next gathering he brought Hayate and introduced him as his lover. His fanclub, easily charmed by Hayate, was swooning over him instead and became Mima and Hayate's supporters.

Mima and Hayate cooking together with zero knowledge of technical cooking term. They're making each other desserts when they stay over during Valentine.

Hayate: Mima-san, what does Bain Marie mean?

Mima: let me google it

Mima: it says melting the chocolate with hot water bath.

Hayate: huh? How does that work? You cook the chocolate while taking a hot water bath? Or using hot bath water? But that's unhygienic...

Mima: um, maybe you cook the chocolate in hot water?

Hayate: but where does the 'bath' come from?

Mima: since it's a bath it means the water has to be enough to make the chocolate submerge in it, right? Like a person taking a bath?

Hayate: won't that make it too watery then?

Mima: I'm sure if we boil it long enough the water will reduce and the chocolate melt and thicken.

Hayate: (100% believes in Mima-san despite feeling something is totally wrong, because Mima-san is... Mima-san.) "okay let's just try it."

In the end they wasted the whole 1 kg of chocolate bar and ended up 'drinking' the awful hot chocolate, putting much sugar in it to cover the bitterness from the burnt chocolate.

Hayate ended up interning at Mima's office but in different department. They just recently go out and be in the same place during the day turns out to be too tempting. Plus Hayate slowly gains a bunch of admirers on his own, both from same age colleagus or older employees and Mima, for the 1st time feeling jealous. He can't concentrate at work unless he sees Hayate but he's always surrounded by his female colleagues. So whenever they pass each other, Mima starts stealing touches. Several times they even kissed and made out in secret while doing overtime. One day coming back from a business trip, head of HR calls him and shows him a cctv footage of him and Hayate getting frisky and gets a warning. Because office relationship is strictly forbidden so he has to be careful unless he wants Hayate's internship to be terminated. He talks it out with Hayate and apologizes to him. Nothing happened at the office yet and nobody found out except for the head HR so Hayate says it's fine. But the next day, Mima finds out that Hayate resigned on his own. He comes to Hayate's apartment, feeling distress and very guilty, but Hayate says he's been thinking about it so it's not because what happened yesterday.

Mima: "Why? Do you not like the job anymore?"

Hayate: "The job is fine, and everyone is very nice to me, plus I get to see you everyday and can have lunch together everyday."

Mima, feeling dejected inside because he no longer can spend more time together during the day now that Hayate will intern somewhere else and be busy. "Isn't it a good thing that we can have more time together? I promise I'll act more careful from now on at the office. I don't understand why you suddenly quit. Can't you at least stay until your intern period is over?"

Hayate: "Actually I've been thinking about it, I don't think I want to work there in the future so it might be best if I don't waste my time and start interning somewhere else."

Mima: "Oh...I see. I was very happy thinking we might work together in the future. But it can't be help if you don't enjoy it."

Hayate: "it's not about the office, it's because there's no use if we're working together but we can't let anyone know since office couples are not allowed. And it's not worth risking your job that way."

Mima: "I know, it's a shame. Everyday I always have to hold back telling everyone that you're my boyfriend so that those girls will leave you alone, it'd be easier if we can tell them that. But on the bright side we can still see each other everyday, walk to the station and have lunch and dinner together everyday, right? Recently thanks to Hayate I feel like going to the office everyday is like a blessing."

Hayate: "I've also been thinking about that a lot, um... it's not like we have to work in the same office to spend more time together."

Mima: "I know, but with you now interning at another place and also job-hunting you won't have much free time anymore and I don't want to pester you when you're tired."

Hayate: "If we can't meet during the day then we can just be together in the night..."

Mima: ...

Mima: "...Hayate, what are you saying?" *his heart begins thundering in anticipation*

Hayate: "what I'm saying is...I think it's about time, and I can say that I'm ready now, so let's...just live together, Takayuki-san. That way we can have more free time together."

Mima: (speechless due to happiness, cool on the outside but almost fainting inside.)

3x1 and the gang: Ever since Mima and Hayate started dating (with the help of 2,4,5) they all like to tease the couples. Especially Mima. The joy of riling up an everlasting peaceful and composed man like Mima is so satisfying for them. They all knew how much Hayate idolizes Motoharu and so whenever they gather they would start throwing questions like "Hayate-kun, if Mima-san and Motoharu-san were about to fall off a cliff, who would you save?" etc etc. Hayate also been thinking about working at the publishing company so whenever he meets Motoharu they would quickly go into their zone and not even Mima can enter. One day it makes him jealous so much but Mima being Mima doesn't wanna show it and make the atmosphere bad so they excuses himself first to calm himself down. Hayate sensing his boyfriend is upset, lets him go first but then not long after, he goes after him. Hayate tries to get him to talk so Mima just lets him know how he feels.

Mima: I'm sorry Hayate, I know it's childish...but lately I just can't help it. It's like whenever Motoharu around then I'm no longer visible for you.

Hayate: That's not true, you know it's different.

Mima: I get it, I just need to convince myself. Sometimes you just can't help how you feel.

Hayate: Then let me convince you.

Mima: huh?

Hayate then, for the 1st time since they started dating, kisses Mima first.

Hayate blushes from head to toe: "th-this is how I feel and what I want to do when you're around, Mima-san. I might admire Motoharu-sensei so much and he's my idol but I've never, not even once, thinking I want to kiss him or touch him like I want with you. Are you convinced now?"

Mima: "ye-yeah, ahem" still shell-shocked with the kiss. "indeed very convincing, Hayate. Then, um...how about we continue where we just left off?"

Hayate: "o-okay, my place or yours?"

Mima: "mine. I don't want Motoharu knocking on your door looking for his cat again while we're doing it like last time."

LOL so that's all I can think about for now. I have a few others I don't include here cz I'm saving them up to develop later (hopefully) in a fic or two. That is... If CDD fandom is still alive by the time I finish writing it or else I'll just write it for and indulge myself 😂

Maybe bcs I vibe more with Mima and Hayate is my little sunshine, I like Mima being the first to pine and head-over-heels for Hayate while the other is more oblivious. And also bcs it's Hayate first ever relationship he just doesn't know what to do and don't. They are learning the rope bit by bit together.

The hospital visit went well, I am a healthy individual (there was no cancer, yay! Also the nurses told me that I was a delight and their best patient that day ❤️), now I’m adjusting back to normality by taking things easy.

I will get back to writing tonight, but as of now, I am watching Shoukugeki no Souma again; adding more ideas to the list.

Also noticing more details that I missed the first round 😅
