Simple idea my brain presented me with a couple of weeks ago. Actually decided to write the thing.
No warnings. Word count only about 680. Chris, Leon, and Carlos.
Gaming With The Guys Headcanons
Tumblr media
Chris isn't much of a gamer, but he doesn't mind playing something every once in a while.
He'll mostly play with you, though. He doesn't enjoy doing it alone, so you'll never find him hogging your consoles or PC.
He likes fighting games like Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Tekken, and Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat is probably his favourite game because he thinks the fatalities are great.
He was extremely amused when you showed him there is such a thing as a 'babality' too, and he wouldn't stop practising the button combos until he could execute a babality every time he managed to win from you.
Aside from the fighting games, Chris will also play First Person Shooters with you, but he doesn't enjoy them as much. He spends too much time firing guns in everyday life, so he prefers to avoid things that have to do with shooting when he's home.
He may not be much of a gamer, but he does like it when you play online with other people. He'll sometimes watch and cheer you on. It's cute, but he can occasionally turn into a backseat gamer. You can just kick him out of the room whenever he does that.
Tumblr media
Leon loves story-driven games. He will happily play any story-driven game with you, even if the games are very long.
He enjoys games that are like Final Fantasy and The Witcher, but he also doesn't mind more chill games like Stardew Valley.
He actually bought the game himself, so you can play Stardew Valley together. Sometimes all the man needs after a long day at work is to just grow crops, milk cows and redecorate your house when you're out mining for ores.
When it comes to games like the Witcher, he enjoys watching you play it and solving the puzzles together. He does get really invested in the stories, though, so every once in a while he'll be cranky if he has to write a report when he could be spending time with you and your video games instead.
If you write fanfiction or make fanart of the games you love, he'll want to read and see all of it. He absolutely loves it when his S/O is creative.
Tumblr media
Carlos just wants to play older games. He has a preference for anything put out by Sega and Nintendo and insisted you both get a couple of Pokémon games. He really likes to battle you, and he's pretty damn good at it, too.
When Pokémon Go comes out he will practically beg you to install it so you can go on lovely walks together while simultaneously catching some Pokémon.
He also loves playing Mario games with you. It could be Mario Kart or Mario Tennis, but he's also happy to take turns while playing the original Super Mario Bros Games.
The same goes for Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic makes him feel nostalgic, and every time you fire up a game, he will happily yell 'Seeegaaaaaa' at the television. It's cute as heck, really.
Carlos isn't patient enough to play games like the Legend of Zelda, but he does love the way the newer Zelda games look. He will beg you to play them so he can watch without having to make an effort himself. Weirdly, he doesn't grow impatient if you get stuck in a game; it's only when he plays them himself that his impatience becomes a problem.
When you're not around and he's at home alone, he may play some games by himself. Mainly stuff like Donkey Kong or Double Dragon. But he prefers gaming with you, so it won't happen that often.
When it comes to more violent games, he mainly plays a lot of GTA. He's not too violent in the games, but he does think it's fun to murder people, steal a bicycle and try to escape the police while having a 5-star wanted level.
If you're willing, he will roleplay with you in GTA 5 as he thinks it's hilarious. He's great at coming up with funny stories, and doing some GTA RP with him is bound to make you laugh for a long time.
BONUS WESKER!
I'm kidding. Wesker is absolutely not interested in video games and will just leave you alone whenever you feel like playing them. He doesn't hate them, he just doesn't want to play or watch them himself. Sorry. I really couldn't write anything for him this time.

do you have any video games you’d recommend to people? looking for something new to try
Yeah, sure, I can go into detail on that later, but here are some of the basic categories
Platformers
Exploration
Story-driven
Open-world
Multiplayer
FPS
Fighting games (although these don't get included in platformer tags for some reason)
First-person shooters
Card/board-based gaming
Roleplaying games
My top 10 for the "platformer" tag would be below (with explanation of the ratings as before):
Super Mario Bros. 3
Tetris (gamecube)
Pilotwings 64
Yoshi's Story
Earthworm Jim 3
Contra 4
Metroid Fusion/Prime
Ginger Snaps
Donkey Kong Country
Rayman Origins
This is a really subjective set and I wouldn't expect it to be very informative for new gamers -- there are lots of good platformers out there, and the list is a lot more oriented toward games I loved when I was a little kid than games I actually like now.
Exploration games are also a good area -- games like Myst, Riven, The Last Express, the first two Cave Story games, etc. -- with some platforming aspects, and some narrative aspects. They're very narrative-focused and focused on the exploration/exploration of a world; they're not really the same thing as platformers, except in that there's "platforming" involved.
If you're looking for something more action-oriented in this category, then you might enjoy Spec Ops: The Line. That game was a big deal for people when it came out and it's also very narrative-focused, but the story is a lot more on the side, with a lot of focus on the mechanics/gunplay of the game. I'd highly recommend it if you're up for something a bit edgier -- it's very difficult, so you have to be comfortable with a little challenge. But it's also, like, one of the most challenging games ever made.
A lot of these games -- especially the platformers, although a lot of the others I've mentioned are not "just" platformers -- are kind of like the opposite of RPGs in that the narrative and mechanics are more focused on, and are more directly influenced by, the mechanics of the game. (This is a theme I'll talk about more in the platformer section. I'm not gonna say much about it now because it's going to be a long post.) For instance, in Metroid Fusion/Prime, there's the idea of exploring the universe and the planets within it, and then there's the idea of trying to progress through the game through the mechanics of the game. I find the former kind of abstract and difficult, while the latter is quite mechanical.
In the category of "fighting games," I think the biggest name is Street Fighter IV. Other fighting game classics I'd recommend include Soul Calibur 3, Tekken 3, and Tekken 6, with Tekken in particular also being narrative-focused to some extent.
One other thing here is that the fighting games are all multiplayer, and many people like to play multiplayer games like this for the social side, while playing them alone for the gameplay/story. So I would recommend those games if you can see yourself liking multiplayer for the gameplay side of things, but not for the story.
For a game to go from "platformer" to "card/board" gaming, you just need to switch from the perspective to being an NPC and letting a computer handle all the movement. There are some games which have a very simple storyline, and then in the gameplay, they do this sort of "cutscene" feature where they move some buttons around to let the player jump, etc. In these games the "narrative" just means the visual aspect, as opposed to something like a storyboard or script. These games tend to have a very simplistic mechanics, often very puzzle-like in their structure. They can sometimes resemble a puzzle, as in some of the puzzle-focused games I mentioned earlier (Cave Story and Super Puzzle Fighter are often compared).
In games which are like this, there's a very obvious distinction between the mechanics and the story, in that the player can't really do anything with the story to make it happen -- it's all up to the game mechanics, and you have to do them just right. There is no "script" to "narrate" the game. Games of this type tend to be puzzle games or word-guessing games, with the mechanics being more involved than in card-based games.
But there are other kinds of card/board games which still make use of the "script," but in addition to the mechanical stuff (and still involving a "narrative" as a part of the presentation) use other elements -- the script has to include things like rules, the kinds of cards you draw, which ones you can use, etc. These games are all-around pretty easy to get into, and they're more like movies or TV shows than games that involve a lot of complicated mechanics (even if there are lots of mechanics, I guess). It's like if you could watch movies on your TV -- in that the story itself is more important than the mechanics involved, and there's only one way for the story to go, and yet you still have a lot of freedom in how you do the mechanics. This freedom is partly because the mechanics are so simple that they are not as important to the overall "narrative" as the story, and thus the mechanics can be used to fit the narrative.

Hmm and what is that character?
Tumblr media
Raphael from the Soul Calibur franchise. He’s been one of my favorite video game characters for as long as I can remember, and he was a huge inspiration for when I created Nera. I love his story so much.
Now I suddenly want to roleplay him.

Rules, Muses, AUs
Rules
Rules may be changed whenever.
Read the rules first!
All characters are written to be 18 years or older. Certain characters are aged up.
No God Modding.
Again, this is an NSFW blog, you know 18+ content on here. So, NO MINOR is allowed to be here.
Muses DO NOT equal Mun! Some taboo content is on here. All of this is just fantasy and fiction. I DO NOT condone these things.
I write Asks, Snippets, Prompts, Text Stories, and Head Canons. I am willing to do RPs. I also accept crossover requests. Also consider every request MultiVerse.
Please, with your requests specify what it is. I'll consider it an ask if nothing is stated of what you are requesting.
Please specify which muse(s) your request is for.
I am willing to accept requests of my muses and an OC muse of yours. I will be VERY SELECTIVE with self-inserts.
Snippets are short writings that I'll write 1 or 2 paragraphs for. Prompts are longer, with me at least writing 4 short paragraphs.
When sending a request, please don't write out your own beginning of prompt or something. Give me the idea and the details you would like me to write for.
I DO NOT have to do your request. I have to right to turn it down for whatever reason. Please respect my decision if I do.
ABSOLUTELY NO: scat, watersports (urine), gore, snuff, abuse, etc. Ask if for other kinks if I'm willing to do it.
I accept straight, bisexual, yuri, yaoi and futa ideas. Crossdressing and genderbenders are also accepted. That includes both male and female characters crossdressing. Along with male to female and female to male genderbenders.
Some of the taboo things I'm fine doing are rape, blackmail, incest, netorare, cucking and cheating. I use the tag #unpaidunusedkinks for these requests. Blacklist that if you don't want to see them. Let me know if you use other tags to hide these type of things.
Please be patient with me. I can and will be slow with my replies to any request.
RPs will go much slower than the rest. Forgive me if I don't have an idea for if we discuss about possibly RPing. Plotting out RPs will be discussed with private messages in Inbox or IMs. My writing for RPs can come up short from time to time. Don't expect multi-paragraph replies.
Please DO NOT like or reblog RPs if you are not roleplaying in it.
I won't do Anon RPs.
If you've read the rules, please send "One esper way down to Hell!"

List of AUs that we can work with. You can send in asks, snippets, and prompts for them.
-One Man’s Harem (A One Punch Man AU): An AU where our protag Saitama has a harem, and he is still not recognized as a hero by most. But that doesn’t stop him from being a hero, and inadvertently getting the girls.
Saitama’s harem: Female Genos, Fubuki, Tatsumaki, Mosquito Girl, Do-S,
-Female Ozpin-verse (Working title. A RWBY AU): It all started with me suggesting you people to think about a female Ozpin. Then I did a text story of Ophelia (female Ozpin) and Jaune. Then someone sent an ask for Jaune about her. So, why not do a full on AU for her
My Other Blogs
My other blogs, except for Cuntry of Degens, will be put on hiatus. I'll be focusing on this one and the Cuntry blog.

Hearts for my thoughts. | Accepting | @hybridgear
Tumblr media
You're asking me to give my thoughts about my blog? I'm putting this under a read more because I've got a bit to say. More about myself than my blog, though it does tie into it and my writing.
The rules, all the about pages, and the verses page could've looked way better than they do, but I don't know enough about Google Docs to actually fix things the way I want them. I only started using Docs four years ago, and it was mostly as basic backups for my characters' about pages in case anything happened to a blog or for the purpose of Discord RP servers.
I'm not great at messaging others either. Not because I'm shy, but more often than not because I don't want to bug. Like, over half the people on my Discord list have left their profiles on Do Not Disturb or appear offline damn near 24/7, and the messaging here is a broken, buggy mess and I don't want to unintentionally spam someone because I have no idea if a message went through or not. People are always like "no it's fine, come talk to me whenever", but I'm not going to gamble and take the chance of accidentally pissing someone off. Happened enough over the years.
Then there's my reply times. I can be slow as molasses, and I know it. Everyone knows that whole spiel about roleplaying here is a hobby, real life comes before here, yadda yadda. The issue there is I'm a space cadet with bad ADHD and an ever-shifting sleep schedule. I could be awake or asleep at any time of day depending on the circumstances around the house. I could be halfway through writing a massive draft when something as simple as a single song can derail my entire train of thought. And this isn't including all the spontaneous parts of life causing distractions either. That's why I could be here finishing dozens of drafts in one afternoon or radio silent for almost a week with maybe one post. Not much of a surprise that I constantly apologize for how late they can be.
Muses are another big problem of mine. They're all over the place, with inspiration coming and going like ocean tides. Doesn't help that music or playing a new game or damn near anything can spontaneously send me down the idea phase of creating a new one. Back when I was in the RWBY fandom, I had eight sideblogs because my mind was dedicated to thinking outside the box from the run-of-the-mill OCs everyone used. Hell, it's still a bit of an issue. Just this month, my mind's thought about adding my FF14 character to the roster despite knowing little about the lore, as well as running a trial with my revamped take on Algol from Soul Calibur 4, putting Tino back into his RWBY verse as an AU even though it'll go unused, an old OC who was based on or even secretly Dionysus, and my take on the MC of a nigh-dead MMOJRPG called Onigiri. Not gonna happen though. Last thing I want is to flood this blog with six shallow characters I came up with in two days.
Tying in with the previous bit, getting into the headspace of writing certain muses is another issue for the same reasons. It's entirely sporadic.
I can go on and on and on. Some of these things can be improved or fixed. Others, they're just personal issues. You can say I'm being hard on myself or whatever else you might think, but I'm just being honest.

What about Asuka from Evangelion? Or Seong Mina from Soul Calibur?
Send me muses you think I should roleplay as.
(It's been a long time since I played Soul Calibur so idk XD Asuka would probably be fun but I got most of my mind-melting Evangelion existentialism out when I played Misato)

Hi! I'm Star, and I'm a gamer and roleplayer that came from Twitter and Reddit, and I've lived here before those two anyway. Pronouns are any, really. I'm genderfluid <3. Nothing very cool about me outside of the internet, really. Kind of a lame human with 3 dogs and 1 catto who listens to heavy metal sometimes. I'm over 30 and tired.
For real, I swear, I'm just a gremlin in human skin. A tired, sad little gremlin. :)
And I'm part of: @the-hoetei-13

Open starter
The light of the moon, with it’s somber yet lusterous shine, splayed upon the light of the solemn ground about. In the middle stood a lone figure, a blade stabbed upon the ground, what seemed like rivers of blood, and a well-spaced pile of corpses, if they were even truly dead, that is. A slight nod from the figure seemed to make the blade brighter as a steady yet unsure hand grabbed the handle of the blade, it coursing with a red light, pulsating like a heart, like it breathed. In an instant, the figure looked behind them and they turned. The figure’s deep pinkish-red eyes now stared out towards whoever may had intruded upon the scene.

6!
6. Was there a character you had to resist making a muse for in the recent past?
Too many to count honestly XD
There have been many times (including recently) where I've wanted to try roleplaying more RWBY canon characters, but I always stopped because I get too nervous.
Same with wanting to write canon characters from other media (Vox Machina, Arcane, Soul Calibur).
I keep worrying I'm going to somehow write the characters wrong, so I always stop before I can start writing them. OCs have always been easier for me since it gives me more freedom.
