"nanobots" the song is this deconstructed view of child development and parenthood where it's like, 'wow have you ever thought about how weird producing offspring is. like, it's weird, right! we make these little people and they quickly grow into their own individual personalities with their own lives and autonomy and I've lost all authority and there's so many and you've gotta be responsible for them all the time, what did I do !!!'
but as well as approaching it with this slightly overwhelmed perspective, there's a sort of affectionate optimism in there, too. that even tho the concept's intimidating, there's a sense of wonder in how humans develop and raising them and watching them grow up. hey this kid thing's fun actually, yeah I wish they'd leave me alone sometimes, but look at how cute and resilient they are look at what they can do. and then "replicant" is like jesus parenting a teenager is hard.

A fanfic idea I've always had for HalBarry that I've BEEN WANTINGGG to write is a mission dealing with the Music Meister but the whole thing turns into confessing to each other about how they feel infront of everyone but through a musical style. Music Meister's power is being able to sing and control people to sing AND dance. I also want to mix the ability of CW Music Meister, his powers contain the ability of creating this figment that is like a sorta daydream sequence. (That's so silly and cool I love it and he's also my favorite villain in general but there's barely anything on him)
I'm still debating what songs they would sing but it would be based on how they feel INTERNALLY and through complex topics like what they are worried about. For example, from gaining the feeling that they'd lose the other if confessing was the way or being afraid of saying the truth directly to someone OR entering a relationship at all. ("What would they say? How would they react? What do I look like to them??" etc. etc.)
Give the other JL members little song sequences and singing. 'If Only He Can Love Me' duet between Dinah and Ollie in Brave and The Bold... OR BRUCE BEING ABLE TO SING. ARTHUR TOO, he's so silly in that episode.
I'm also including Music Meister HEAVILY from 'Mayhem of The Music Meister!' from Batman: The Brave And The Bold S1 E25. Having Neil Patrick Harris be Music Meister for that...I'm amazing. ANDDD AND, the fact that Neil also played Barry Allen in DC: The New Frontier film

thinking about that lion king reblog and how t.abaluga's relationship with tyrion's is essentially simba and mufasa ( though tyrion is definitely a bit more gruff in a loving way ) and it reminded me of ANOTHER similarity--
in the 1994 musical , right after t.abaluga's father is killed by a.rktos ( very much childhood trauama:tm: momence , think littlefoot's mom's death . i'm not kidding ) , the dragon child is understandably inconsolable with grief and guilt .
his wizard mentor attempts to reassure his little friend ( as he has literally given up on living altogether and hasn't stopped crying since ) that there's so much more to life than pain and suffering by showing him the dolphin's philosophy on life .
now , the dolphins' song can be summed up to essentially "life is all about having fun and living carefree " which-- REALLY gives hakuna matata vibes . except in t.abaluga's case , it does jack-all in cheering him up . the poor thing continues to cry throughout the whole song and i'm ready to start decking people someone PLEASE give the child a hug--
in the end , his mentor reads the damn room and thins the veil of life and death so t.abaluga can have one last moment to say goodbye to his dad .

Decided to check out Ice Nine Kills music videos cause I heard that they often have an overarching storyline for albums and I was curious to see if it was true. And while I've only watched the three for their Every Trick in the Book album so far and have to hit either of their Silver Scream videos, there was actually a connecting piece to them (even if it took me until I watched the third one to realize cause I accidentally watched them out of order dhdjsjsh).
All this is to say that despite all that I didn't expect it to end with the desire to read Animal Farm again. A book that I haven't read since I was in 11th grade like 15 years ago LMAO

me grabbing the microphone hey yeah hey the first phase final trial of EW includes the leitmotifs and even straight up borrowed sections of all the previous final trial bosses up through the whole game. notably missing—save for the very beginning of the track—is Shinryu’s theme. this suggests a couple of things: 1) shinryu’s theme is the backbone of the song—much like the actual gameplay, and 2) that we haven’t yet heard the track + we aren’t yet done with zenos.
we’ve fought shinryu, yes, but we haven’t yet had a one and true confrontation with zenos himself in his own body. The music reflects this, choosing the theme of shinryu’s fight, but not a song that is associated with zenos. this comes later with the solo instance with him where the track Endwalker is used and thus a brief theme is established for *zenos* and not just shinryu
