Would u write an imagine inspired by the new boat drew pics with kook!trio reader after her and rafe are already dating?
Tumblr media
your boyfriend looked good today.
you know he looks good every day, but today was something special. the buzzed hair, the shorts that matched his eyes, the hickey you'd left on his neck last night shamelessly exposed.
he looked good, and you couldn't stop staring. you don't even think five minutes to the future and try to look away so kelce and top don't comment something stupid.
too late.
"you guys are disgusting," kelce says, his face twisted with concern while he glances between you and rafe.
you stare at rafe and he stares at you, a smile playing on his lips that vividly brings you back to the way he had you folded in half last night. his silver chain sparkles in the sun and the only thing you can think about is how it was dangling in your face day before last.
"nothing's gonna change, everything's still the same," top mocks, mimicking what can only be your voice a few weeks ago when you had finally fessed up to the boys that you and rafe were dating now. "yeah right. this is gross. should be illegal." top lounges back in his seat, looking out over the water.
boat days were sacred to the four of you, a weekly ritual that couldn't be broken, no matter how much you wanted make rafe drag the druthers to shore and take you home.
you still don't pay attention to their commentary, though rafe tries to say something in your defense. it's all tuned out, the only sound in your ears the splash of the waves and the birds flying above.
rafe gets up, leaving his seat to come sit next to you. your eyes follow him, smiling stupidly the way you always seem to do now around him. your snarky remarks and funny jokes are nowhere to be found today.
"you okay, kid?" he questions, leaning in to ask it close to your ear. you think a shiver runs through your whole body, even though you're basking in the sun.
"i.. yeah. fine."
"sure?" you look at him with big eyes, parted lips. he recognizes the look.
"can we go home?" said so quietly, only rafe can hear you. he gets up, heading to the helm and turning the boat around. you keep smiling, giddy with anticipation.
"what the fuck?" kelce asks, looking back at rafe's direction. "we just got here man!"
"it's boat day. not boat hour!" topper says over the wind and water when rafe comes back to sit next to you. rafe throws his arm over your shoulder, bringing you in and pressing a kiss to your cheek, you laugh while he does it.
"oh that's foul," kelce says.
"i hate both of you," topper adds in.

Hi I have a request for zombie Steve! I’d love to hear the story of how they met 🫶🏻
zombie!au —You rescue Steve at the start of the end of the world. fem, 2.4k
The sound of them makes your throat close up. Fear like a knife held too tight in unwilling hands, the heat. It’s the hottest summer Hawkins’ has had for years, and you’re overdressed. You couldn’t fit your favourite hoodie in your bag so you wore it but it doesn’t matter, you lost your bag somewhere in the school gymnasium. You’re lucky you didn’t lose your leg when that thing grabbed you. What were they calling them on the radio? Something starting with G.
Those… things, they can kill people. You saw it just ten minutes ago, your algebra teacher turned to a creature, Maisie Lewinsky from your homeroom stained with gore under her hands.
You press the back of your hand to your mouth to stifle a hot gasp. What are you supposed to do now? The Hawkins station said everyone would be waiting here, a repeat radio message, but by the time you heard it the sun was going down and there was nobody left. No cars, no promised convoy, nobody.
You’re the last living girl left in Hawkins.
You’re gonna die in here.
Terrified of breathing to loud but spooked that staying will seal your fate, you lift yourself up from the floor of the science lab to peer over a high table. There’s no signs of life. No signs of the dead, either. You’d thought this might be a good place to hide, the thick fire door unbreakable, but you can’t stay here. It’ll be dark soon.
You wish you had your stuff. They’ve for sure taken anything worth eating from the cafeteria kitchens and Bradley’s has been empty for days. You aren’t sure where your next meal is coming from. Fuck, you’re already dead—
“Fuck!” a voice echoes, boyish and terrified from somewhere outside of the door. “Fuck! Get the fuck away from me, holy shit!”
He sounds scared but firm at the same time. Your own fear is like the insufferable heat, riding the back of your neck as you creep toward the door. There’s gotta be more of them outside. That must be why whoever it is that’s shouting sounds so depeserate. But fuck, there’s relief too. There’s someone still here.
“Fuck! Jesus, help me!”
“Okay,” you say unsurely.
You wedge open the door to the science lab and poke your head out cautiously. There’s a dull thudding sound somewhere to the left, metallic screeching further down, but the panicked shouting (and now panicked yelping) is coming from outside.
You look around for a weapon. There’s nothing to take.
“Holy fuck I do not wanna die!”
Me neither, you think, sniffling back your worried tears. You don’t wanna die, you just want your bed. You want to be home, and safe, but there’s no one to look after you anymore, and you can’t just let people die ‘cos you’re scared. You run from the science lab to the fire escape door full pelt, arm in sudden hot pain at the collision, but the door gives and swings hard into the adjourning wall. You look around frantically for the source of the shouting as it bounces off of the exterior walls of the school and the stone floor of the courtyard, heart suddenly afloat in your chest.
“Hello?” you shout. “I’m here, I’m–”
“What the fuck!”
It’s said with such horrified anger that you give pause, even as your hands shake, cold sweat wetting your lip and colder in the rare afternoon breeze. You dart toward the shouting a moment later, and maybe you’re too late, you can’t save anybody, your shoes pinch as you race down the few concrete steps that lead to the parking lot.
Snarling curdles the air. Your neck snaps left, away from the cars and open territory and toward the subject of your nightmares these last few days. You’ve seen glimpses of these things, always too scared to stay and help, always too stupid, too weak, and seeing them now cements it.
A group of geeks grab at a boy where he hangs from the bars of a metal staircase leading up to the roof of the building. You run toward it on instinct but stop before they hear you, eyes wide. His hands are white-knuckled, his hair falling down into his face, but you know who it is now you’re close enough to see him. You could recognise Steve Harrington a thousand feet away.
“Hey!” you shout. “Hey! Over here!”
Why did you say that? Why are you yelling? The geeks turn their heads to easier pray and you’re done for —they start to run. You stumble back in terror.
“My bag! Get my bag, get the knife!” Steve shouts.
You swing yourself around in a huge circle. There, further into the lot, lies a bag. Further past it lies a wooden baseball bat spiked with fifty silver nails.
You sprint past the bag to the bat and try to grab it while you’re still running, knees grazing hot white fire on the tarmac and hands like acid as you force yourself up again, running further, putting space between you and the too fast footsteps that follow. When you’re sure you’ll have room you swing to see them, their maws dripping gore over white buttoned shirts and once prim blouses. There must be ten of them at least. Only two stay to snap their jaws at Steve Harrington where he attempts to climb up the stairs from the bottom, his foot dangerously close to bloodied teeth.
You pull the bat back as the first of the creatures reaches you. With a grunt more terror than exertion, you force the bat forward, wood arcing through the air, shiny nails catching the light of the setting sun and slamming downward into flesh.
Your eyes flare as wide as they’ve ever been. The geek stops cold and drops, your strangling grip on the bat forcing it up out of the mash of his brains. Another geek leaps over him as you scramble back.
“Run!” Steve yells from the stairs, stress stretching his voice thin and high. “Run away!”
You drop the bat and sprint for your life. Down into the parking lot, past a handful of locked cars and suitcases discarded. This must’ve been where everybody was before they left. There couldn’t have been room. Boxes and trophies, books, magazines and toys, all manner of possessions string like a breadcrumb trail down the road that you have to avoid. You run until your calves are burning over the road that will lead toward Hawkins middle, where you throw yourself into the woods, and hope without any real hope that they’re empty.
Grass folds under your feet. Your panting is as loud as your heart.
When the only shallow breathing you can hear is your own, you circle back to the High School, sticking to the shadows so as not to attract any more attention. A few geeks have collected to join the two you’d left behind, and for a second you’re sure Steve’s succumbed to fatigue and fallen into their blackened clutches, but you spot him balancing dangerously on a handrail between two sets of stairs, leg pulled back in preparation to kick any opposition away.
You sweep up the bat and try to make a plan. You were never going to be able to handle that many people before, not with their new mutations, but you can handle four. Maybe. Probably not.
“Steve, what do I do?” you call. “You have to tell me what to do.”
“You came back!” He swears and shimmies further up the railing as one of his attackers finally manages to traverse the blocked up staircase. “I don’t know what to do! Just hit at them until they die!”
It’s easy for him to say. They’re gruesome creatures, the faces of people you once knew but none of their humanity. They can run as fast as any person can. A human bite has alarming force behind it. The voice on the radio warned you that what you’re trying to do is a bad idea, and yet. You roll the bat in your hand. Your chest aches as hard as your dry throat.
The first geek goes down easy. Unsuspecting, you manage to whack it in the back of the head hard and break through soft skull. The second turns to see you just as you’re lifting the bat again, and it runs hard into it as it comes down, killing itself.
The third is where things get tricky.
“Fuck,” you mumble, lifting your bat to find a sloughing of cartilage and tissue stuck between the spines. “Oh, fuck,” you moan.
“Be careful!” Steve shouts.
You step back and trip, nearly falling. “Stay away from me!”
It snarls in response. Eyes clouded, the geek is a little slower than the others, and it follows you sluggishly away from Steve. The fourth remains, snapping, but you can’t keep watch.
“Stay away from me!” you warn again.
Steve swears on the railing, his cursing followed by a wet thunk.
The geek doesn’t listen, it bites.
You pull your arms to the side, hands wrapped tight around the base of the bat and ready to swing. With a huge, aching cry, you swing the bat to the side and knock the nails clean into its cheek.
It doesn’t die.
Fuck fuck fuck! You throw yourself to the floor by the geek’s feet and out of its reach, on knees, on your feet again, scrambling toward Steve’s bag. You glance over your shoulder as your knees slam down hard into the floor, never so scared in your life, horrified as the bat stays stuck between tendons and the geek takes a running jump toward you.
You pull the knife from Steve’s bag and hold it out in front of you, squeezing your eyes closed in terror.
“Fuck, hey!”
You scream as the weight of the geek lands on top of you. You scream like it’s taking bites of you, until your throat burns and there’s no sound left to make and you choke on it instead. A short, sharp sound.
Then the weight is pulled off of you. Someone lets out a massive gasp.
“Did it get you?”
You blink your eyes open against the glaring white sun where it meets the horizon. If you’re crying, it’s your business, water on your cheek and a dizzy hot feeling everywhere else.
Steve Harrington looks at you like you’re a ghost. “Did it get you? Are you okay?”
You look at your hand and the knife —his knife— where it rests on the tarmac. “I don’t think so. How do you know?”
“They bite! Did it bite you?”
“I don’t know.”
“How can you not know?”
“Because I’m not exactly uninjured, Steve!”
He frowns at you. Well, he glares. “You’d know if it bit you. Don’t be dense.”
“How am I supposed to know?”
“You’re telling me you don’t know what a bite feels like?”
“Some of us had homework.”
He wrinkles his nose. “Is that supposed to be funny?”
Well, yeah. It was supposed to be hilarious.
You look around the parking lot and the school courtyard for any outliers, but the school seems well and truly abandoned now. You can’t hear anymore huffing or screeching, no crying, not even the sound of a radio. Everyone’s been playing them nonstop for weeks, waiting for days like today. Suddenly the raptures here, and you aren’t part of the rescue.
But you saved Steve Harrington, at least. You’re accruing some good karma.
Steve doesn’t hold his hand out, he just grabs you under the arms and pulls you up into a standing position. You’re surprised he can do it, you aren’t light, but you remember his last skins game in the gymnasium and nod to yourself. Of course he can pick you up. Plus, you help, using your legs despite their stiffness to brace yourself on the ground.
“Doesn’t look like it bit you,” he says, quieter now, his hands sliding down to yours briefly before he stands back. “What are you doing here?”
“I thought this was the rendezvous point. I mean, it was, right? We missed it.”
“We missed it.”
“How’d you get here?” you ask.
“Bike. Car chose the worst possible time in the world to die. Not that I could’ve got gas.” He eyes you hopefully. “Tell me you drove here.”
“I biked too, but it’s gone.”
“Gone?”
“Tire popped.”
Steve rubs his eyebrows. His hands are clean where yours are caked. You stand unable to mask your heavy breathing now, and when you reach for him to steady yourself, he doesn’t move away.
“Sorry,” you mumble, licking your lips. You’re a map of little pains. “Are you okay?”
Steve’s hand reaches back to cover yours like he’s going to pull it off, though he doesn’t. “Are you alone?” he asks.
You wince. “Yeah.”
“Where’s your stuff?”
“I lost it.”
“Where?”
“I don’t know.” Your knees hurt. “It’s gonna get dark soon.”
It’s a question. You’re immediately thankful to have found him, because he’s a real living person, and you don’t think you can do this alone. You don’t mean to force him, but you need to know what he’s doing and soon.
“…Better come with me, then,” he says finally.
Steve walks out of your grasp, grabbing up his bag which you’d unfortunately ripped open and shoving the spilled contents back inside. He doesn’t stop to zip it closed, walking straight in the direction of the school.
“Where are we going?”
“Same place as everybody else.” You stumble. Steve, reluctant, frowning hard enough to etch a new wrinkle, holds out his hand to catch you by the elbow. “Where did you think?” he asks.
“I don’t know,” you say, half-indignant.
“You ask a lot of stupid questions, you know that?” He looks you up and down. “How’d you do that?” He points at your bleeding knees.
“I ask stupid questions?”
He grabs the bat from near the felled geek and stands tall. “Jesus. Let’s go find a car.”
It’s not as easy as his tone might suggest. You don’t find a car, you never do, and you never stop asking him obvious questions, but Steve says thank you for saving him eventually (nearly an entire year later, with a hand on your cheek).

Not the Only One
•🌪️🍂🪵🏹•
Summary: Reader comes from an abusive family and is insecure about it showing up everywhere with bruises, but one night she comes across Daryl who is more like you than you know
Pairing: Young Daryl Dixon x f!reader
Content Warning: Abusive parents
•Masterlist•
Tumblr media
Growing up in a small town in Georgia can have its benefits, close friend group, late night walks, fun memories, but not for some, not for me I get the other side of a small town, the rough crowd and the judgmental stares from the well of kids who’s parents gave them everything they wanted
I never thought there was a problem with the way I lived as a kid but the older I got and realized that not everyone lives with abusive, negligent parents it was world shaking for me and I felt like a complete loser and I still do, I don’t have much some simple clothes and some drugstore perfume and makeup but that’s about it, others girls in my class had expensive name brand everything and judge those like me who didn’t
My dads drunk and takes his problems out on me, my moms a coward and won’t stand up for me so here I am walking around school with a cut down my eyebrow with a nasty bruise forming around
“What happened y/n old man beat on you again” Jessie says laughing as she walks by with her little click, I look back into my locker getting my books for science class sighing not ready for the day ahead full of more comments like that
I walk into Mr.jensons class taking my seat at the back, some people whispering as I walk through the class
“Okay class we have a new student transfering to our class from a different course, obvious people like me more than miss.smith’s music class” he says obnoxiously as the student enters our class
Daryl Dixon he lived a few houses down from me but we didn’t interact much, sometimes I’d see him take out the trash or see him sitting on the doc on the lake behind our houses, it was rumoured that his dad beat on him too but it’s not like we were gonna be friends because we’re abused that crazy…..right?
“You can go sit at the back next to y/n” Mr.Jenson points out to me
He sits down and I can smell his calming aroma, woodsy with a hint of cigarette
“Hi” I smiled meakly
“Hey, ya live on my street don’t ya” he asks slouching down in the chair
“Yeah, I’ve seen you around” so he’s seen me too
“Alright class listen up” the class went on like usual until the bell rang signalling the end of the day, I gathered up all my stuff shoving them in my bag and leaving the class, walking through the hallways heading for the exit when someone runs up next to me
“Hey, ya walking home?” Daryl asks looking down at me
“Oh yeah, I usually like to sit at the doc when I get back, don’t like to stay in the house much”
“Why not?” He asks as he continues to walk beside me back to our street
“I think you know, everyone talks about it” I say motioning to my bruised eyebrow
“They don’t understand, ain’t yer fault”
“It’s just……embarrassing” I say rubbing my arm as a nervous habit
“Yer old man?”
“Yeah, you?” He nods in agreement looking down
“Pretty shitty, wish I could just get out of here or just start fresh here” he hums making my heart warm, finally someone understands how I feel
We got to our street stopping infront of my house
“So ummm I’ll be down at the doc later if you wanna meet me there just to talk or whatever” I say
“Yeah I’ll see ya there” he says heading off to his house a few doors down
I walked into my house hoping nothing happens today, seeing my dad sat on his chair with a beer in his hand watching the tv
I try to walk past him to my room when he grabs my wrist
“Did you pick up the cigarettes from the store like I asked?” His voice is already angry, I completely forgot
“I……I forgot, I’m sorry” I whine as he tightens his grip
“Why can’t you ever listen, you know what this means”
“No please I’m sorry I’ll go get them now”
“It’s too late”
Tumblr media
Sitting on the doc was suppose to be a wind down form the day an escape from hell that is suppose to be a house, instead I’m sat here feeling like I went solar against concrete, my lip is busted severely, by cheek stings, bruises and whips against my back, the hoodie I’m wearing was irritating against my sore flesh
I’d do anything just to go back in time and run away with my sister but I was scared and young and now I’m miserable and constantly afraid
“Hey sorry I’m late” I heard from next to me, too deep in thought to have heard him approach
I kept my head down looking at the water
“It’s fine” I mumble
“Ya okay?” That one simple question broke the damn in me as tears spilled down my cheeks, I turn to him just wanting reassurance or comfort
“I forgot to get a pack of cigarettes on the way home” my voice quivers as he stares at my red cheek and bust lip
“How am I even suppose to cover this up”
“I could go kill him” he huffs anger rising in his features
“Everything hurts” I wince when he places his hand on my back, he pulled back quickly
“Do ya need help?”
“I don’t know how bad they are”
He moves behind me lifting my sweater up to my shoulders, revealing the old and new scars that littered my back with occasionally fresh bruises
“Oh baby girl I’m so sorry” he says under his breath but there was something there in his words that made it feel like he understood this type of beating
“Are they bad?”
“Don’t think ya need stitches but I don’t want ya going back there” he says bringing my sweater back down moving beside me again
“But where am I suppose to go?”
“Old man’s gone for a week, ya can stay at my place”
“Are you sure I don’t want to burden you”
“Ain’t a burden, yer staying with me, come on”
Tumblr media
His house was more or less just like mine but there is no surprise there, our fathers are basically the same, he brings me to his room and it’s pretty normal, some hunting stuff plain brown walls
“Thanks for this” I say sitting on the edge of his bed
“ ‘course, ya need anything?”
“Do you have any painkillers?” He went in his drawer and popped one in my hand, taking it hoping it will ease this discomfort
He jumped on the bed sitting next to me as a comfortable silence surrounds us
“I got em too”
“Huh?”
“Scars, don’t like to show em, don’t like to be reminded”
“I’m sorry Daryl, one day we’ll be happy, one day we’ll get out of this mess”
“Together”
Tumblr media

word count: 6.3k
tags: college au!, basketballplayer!taesan x nurse!y/n, honestly it's just a fluff piece, idiots in love, dongmin is DOWN BAD and falls in love with the same girl 3 times, uhh y/n is a feisty nurse warnings: taesan is called dongmin, uhh alcohol + memory loss involved with getting shitfaced lol
Tumblr media
HAN DONGMIN DIDN'T REALLY BELIEVE IN SUPERSTITIONS. to him, things like 'knocking on wood' or 'not opening an umbrella inside' were just old wives' tales that didn't have much substance to them.
but after dongmin had shattered his bedroom mirror this morning (he'd accidentally launched his alarm clock across the room after sleeping too late last night), nearly every single thing in his life had gone wrong.
he'd put expired milk in his cereal because kim donghyun (his roommate) hadn't switched out the milk like he'd promised to the day before. then he went to take a shower, only to be burned by scalding hot water since the landlord refused to change the heating system, even though they'd been suffering through the sticky heat of august for fifteen days already. as if all of that wasn't enough, he'd accidentally torn his favorite hoodie trying to clean up the fragments that'd fallen on the floor. and when he was trying to salvage his hoodie, he scraped his forearm against the fragments, meaning he had a nasty gash along the long side of it.
which meant he'd have to go to the hospital to take care of this stupid bloody mess instead of going to class.
that was how han dongmin found himself sitting in the waiting room of the urgent care center of the hospital, a shoddy rag wrapped around his forearm, his essentials hoodie covered in blood, expired milk, and mirror dust.
needless to say, dongmin had gotten more than a few strange looks from the other people in the waiting room in the last four minutes he'd been there.
"han dongmin!" the receptionist calls out, and dongmin launches himself out of his chair, impatient to get this over with as soon as possible.
something about hospitals just gave dongmin the heebie jeebies. the fluorescent lighting, the smell of rubbing alcohol, the tangible feeling of sickness that wafted through the air.
ugh. dongmin hated hospitals. in fact, he was so sure that he would never even step foot in a hospital after this. if he needed to wrap himself in bubble wrap to do so, then so be it because he hated hospitals and he would never come ba -
dongmin stops dead in his tracks, right next to the recovery bed that the receptionist had led him to. standing in front of him was the most gorgeous person he'd ever seen in his life.
you were smiling at something the patient in front of you was saying, leaning over to bandage the patient's scrape with a little bandaid that had cartoon ryans all over it.
fuck that.
dongmin was ready to break his leg if it meant that he got to stay in the hospital and stare at your beautiful face all day. before he could find something big and heavy to knock his leg into, however, you make your way over to dongmin, clipboard and first aid kit in hand.
"hello," you say with a soft smile. "my name is y/n l/n and i'll be taking care of you today. is there anything i can help you with?"
"will you go out with me?" the words escape dongmin's mouth before he can even process what he's saying and you immediately lean backwards, a disproving wrinkle between your eyebrows.
"excuse me?" you say, and it's clear that dongmin's not gonna be in your good graces if he hits on you. he really hoped you were like this with everyone and not that you just found him super unattractive or anything (donghyun swore up and down that dongmin was not ugly - especially now that he'd dyed his hair! but donghyun also never had to chase after a girl in his life so...). or worse, if you already had a boyfriend.
but before he can ruminate about your affronted stance too deeply, dongmin rushes to fix his mistake. "i mean, hospitals really freak me out. the ethanol smell and the lighting and everything kinda gets in my head, you know what i mean? do you think you could just slap some gauze on outside?"
the tension in your shoulders immediately relaxes and you take a step forward once more, setting the first aid kit down next to dongmin.
"oh yeah, that makes sense," you say, sounding relieved. "unfortunately, i can only provide care while inside the hospital to make sure that the instruments and gauze are sterile to prevent any contamination. i promise i'll be as quick as possible so i can get you out of here!" you explain, a slight pout tugging your lips down in the most adorable way as you seem genuinely sorry for dongmin.
it was official: han dongmin was in love.
"no, don't worry. take your time. i mean, the cut is pretty bad and i don't wanna leave any mirror guts in it," dongmin says. as quick as possible, my ass, he thinks to himself. i gotta find a way to make this last for as long as i can.
"of course!" you assure, before looking down at the clipboard. "so i assume you cut yourself on a broken mirror? does it hurt when you apply pressure?"
what was the answer that would keep you here longer?
"yes?"
"are you asking me or telling me?"
"telling?"
"very convincing. i'm gonna need to apply pressure and confirm for myself then, if that's alright with you?" you look at him in a way that seems to be somewhat apprehensive and dongmin has never wanted to reverse time more than in this very instant.
until he doesn't because your hands are on his forearm, examining the wound gently and applying pressure around the open gash.
"does it hurt when i do this?" you ask, eyes trained on the way that his forearm muscles ripple and move as you apply pressure in different places.
dongmin's not the most buff guy on the planet, and you checking out his muscles was definitely not for your own pleasure, but at least all of his time on the court and in the gym has paid off in some way.
"uh...no. not unless you're super close to the cut," dongmin says and you nod with a gentle smile. it's in that moment that dongmin decides that he would kill anyone and anything just to see you smile like that again,
"that's good to hear. well, i guess that all we need to do is 'slap some gauze on' after disinfecting the wound and making sure we don't have any 'mirror guts' in it," you say, a hint of cheekiness in your tone. dongmin doesn't know what it is about it but it makes him blush, regardless.
"yeah. that sounds good," he says dreamily, trying hard to compose himself once more when you flash him a questioning look.
you work carefully on his arm, making sure to give a tiny little stress ball to dongmin to use when you descend upon his wound with some antibacterial medicine and rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball.
"so, uh, you look pretty young for a doctor...?" dongmin says, trying very hard to focus his attention on you instead of the stinging pain that came with every touch of the cotton ball on his wound. the more he looked at you, the more he began to wonder if he'd seen you somewhere before.
dongmin wasn't the superstitious type, and didn't exactly believe in 'love at first sight', but no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn't place you anywhere in his memory.
"that might be because 'm not a doctor," you say somewhat distractedly. "i'm a nursing student."
"oh. oh! you're a nursing student?" he asks. student. that means that you were either his age or just a few years older than him. and it also probably meant that you were a student at a university near by - maybe his?
"yep. a second year. although, don't worry, i've completed all of my first aid clinicals last year itself," you explain, leaning back in satisfaction when you finish cleaning up the wound.
"my school has a pretty famous nursing program, you know. maybe you've heard of yonsei's nursing program?" dongmin asks, eyes shining with hope.
it's only then that you look up at dongmin with an excited look in your eyes, turning to throw away the used cotton balls.
"i go to yonsei as well! i'm just starting my second year. it's a little strange because the nursing program runs through the summer, which is why i'm working clinicals right now. i'm almost done though, so i'll be switching into a field i'm more interested in," you say and dongmin swears he hears wedding bells in his mind. beautiful, kind, intelligent, and the same age as him? it was like god was basically handing his soulmate to him on a platter. maybe love at first sight was real after all.
"me too! well, i'm not a nursing major, but i'm a second year electrical engineering major," dongmin says, watching you turn back towards him with a clipboard.
"mhm, well, i've gotta tell you to be careful for the next week or so. no heavy lifting, sports, and definitely no cutting things. we don't want to make the wound worse, now do we?" you say chidingly, scribbling instructions on the clipboard of how to clean the wound with rubbing alcohol and how many pills of ibuprofen to take per day.
"of course," dongmin says half-heartedly. as much as dongmin hated the feeling of pain, the was the only way that he could think of to get to see you again was to somehow hurt himself again.
"how about you come back in a week to just make sure that it closed up well? make sure it didn't get infected or anything?" you ask, handing him the sheet of paper.
god was real.
dongmin swore he was going to go to church and donate at least 10,000 won for the blessing after blessing he was receiving today.
"oh sure," he says, a mischievous thought popping into his head. "but is it ok if i find you on campus? i have a lot of labs over the next week and i can't miss them if i can't even participate in them, so i can at least get the information. i won't really have time to stop by the hospital," dongmin says carefully, watching your expression to ensure that it wasn't changing with every word that escaped your lips.
technically, it wasn't a lie. dongmin did have a lot of labs next week but that's definitely not why he wouldn't have time to stop by the hospital.
"i don't see why not. i don't need any sterile instruments to just check quickly, so that shouldn't be an issue," you say slowly, nodding to yourself as you look around the little station to make sure you wouldn't need any of the equipment.
"perfect," dongmin says, shuffling out of the bed that he was sitting in to leave before turning around nonchalantly. "do you think i could get your number? so i know where to find you?"
you look up at him, and dongmin tries his best to seem sincere and genuine rather than as calculating as he felt, trying every tactic possible to see you again.
"yeah. yeah, here let me type it into your phone."
he hands his phone over to you, and it takes every single fiber of his being to keep himself from looking excited about any part of this transaction. you were already suspicious enough of him; you definitely didn't need more reasons to add to the list.
you're frowning slightly when you hand the phone back to him so dongmin pockets it without a second thought, to prove that he wasn't trying to be weird.
"thank you so much again." dongmin waves as he leaves, flashing the award-winning smile that he usually reserves for aunties and restaurant owners for free sides. oh, and for his fans.
you don't blush and trip over yourself when he does like his fans do - although you offer him a soft smile in return.
although, dongmin muses, i guess it would be weird if a nurse who met me for the first time would be anything like a college basketball star's fan though. maybe.
he shakes his head, opening the door to the hospital, looking down at his arm wrapped in gauze. yeah. there was no way that dongmin was taking a break from basketball. season started in less than three weeks and as yonsei's point guard, he had no choice but to just power through the injury.
it might work out in his favor after all. at least it would give him more chances to see you.
+++
turns out, the universe gives him a chance less than two days after he sees you for the first time. and in any other case, dongmin would be incredibly excited to see you again. he'd probably be ready, waiting with freshly showered hair and clean clothes and nice smelling cologne.
instead, when he sees you again, he's wearing raggedy shorts, a stained shirt, and holding a basketball that he definitely should not be holding.
dongmin knew he was fucked the moment you walked in through the double doors that opened up to the indoor basketball court of yonsei, light spilling in from the outdoors, along with the chatter and excitement of students returning to university.
you walk in wearing white, along with six other people dressed similarly, the basketball team's physician (dr. moon taeil) at the head of them all. dongmin hopes that you don't recognize him - or at least don't see him actively playing but of course, you manage to turn your head to see dongmin throw the ball out of his hands in a random direction in panic.
the ball, then of course, managed to fall neatly through the hoop, as though dongmin had intentionally thrown it there, causing him to want to die on the spot.
so he couldn't do that during a game with korea university, but now that he was doing everything in his power to keep you from seeing him play basketball, now he manages to throw it in the one place it shouldn't go.
your eyes narrow when dongmin turns to face you, your gaze falling to his (poorly) wrapped forearm. he offers you a trembling grin, which slowly turns into a frown when you look away, shaking your head as you start talking to the girl next to you.
at least you wouldn't say anything to coach about how he wasn't supposed to be playing right now, dongmin thinks to himself. even if i've effectively ruined my chances of her ever believing me about anything ever again. uh. not that i've had more than one conversation with her. or might have more in the future.
dongmin shivers, jogging over to where the basketball had fallen to pick it up and return to his place at the three-point line and continue shooting practice.
he returns to where he's supposed to be practicing, so that his back is facing the group of people who'd entered - namely, you.
"i forgot coach mentioned that we've got new on-site medical staff," dongmin mutters to himself, dribbling the ball before lining up his shot. "i didn't know that she'd be a part of that though - she can't be the sporty type if she didn't recognize me from the hospital."
dongmin is so lost in his thoughts that he doesn't even feel the dark presence looming over him until the ball is released from his hand.
"HAN DONGMIN!" someone yells, right next to his ear, and dongmin scrambles to attention, wincing when the basketball bounces off the rim and into the cart of basketballs he was practicing with with a resounding clang!
he turns slowly, eyes closed, as if that would make you go away.
"i cannot believe that i bandaged you up so carefully just for you to start playing again! how could you be so careless? do you not want to be able to play during the season? you're yonsei's ace and you're being this irresponsible!" you're heaving by the end of your rant and dongmin blinks, trying to come up with a response.
you definitely didn't know him well enough to yell at him like this - much less in front of all of his teammates - but for some reason, that's not what stuck out to dongmin.
(much to his chagrin, you being angry was hot. like really hot. especially since he'd thought you'd be the soft and cozy type, not the impulsive and quick to anger type. he really liked this side of you.)
"you know who i am?" he asks slowly.
"OF COURSE I KNOW WHO YOU ARE! OH, YOU ARE GETTING ON MY NERVES. YOU ASS, I DIDN'T BANDAGE YOU UP THAT NEATLY FOR YOU TO BE WALKING AROUND SHOOTING THREES!"
you're yelling at him, and for some reason, dongmin has never wanted to kiss someone more in his life. he'd never though he'd be this attracted to someone that he's just met yelling at him, much less in front of his entire team and her own entire team. but for some reason, as dongmin looks at you waving your hands all crazy and annoyed, all he can think about it how much he likes you.
it wasn't just physical. of course, he thought you were beautiful - possibly the most beautiful person he'd ever seen in his life and he would die on that hill - but it was more than that. it was as though he'd genuinely fallen in love at first sight.
you could tell him that you were a serial killer and at this point, dongmin would just admire your bloodlust.
"uh. dongmin?" coach jung says behind him, hands crossed over his chest. "do you guys need a moment to step out and come back?"
even coach jung seems a little bit intimidated by your livid state of being and dongmin has to cough to cover up his life.
"no coach. we're done here," you say, turning dramatically on your heel to turn back to your friends. but dongmin moves quicker than even his own mind can process what happens.
before he can think, his hand is wrapped around your wrist, spinning you closer to him, almost as if the two of you were ballroom dancing.
you look up at him, shocked, but dongmin is slow to let go of your wrist, not wanting to lose contact with you.
"no, we need just a moment," dongmin says, his eyes never leaving your own. it's clear that you neither expected this nor were used to this kind of behavior from anyone and before the fight that's building inside of you bubbles out, dongmin tilts his head toward the door that leads to a hallway extending to the equipment room, practically begging you with his eyes.
you aqcuiesce - or at least, dongmin thinks you do - from the way that your shoulder melt just the slightest and you let him pull you into the hallway.
"what?" you snap the second the door shuts behind the two of you. "okay, maybe i didn't let on that i knew you from our encounter, but that's irrelevant. i didn't need to tell you that i knew you. and besides, as your healthcare provider, it would have been extremely irresponsible on my end for me to let slip that i'm a fan - or that i know you personally at all."
dongmin can't help but let a small smile slip. "personally? we know each other personally?"
you fluster in that moment, looking anywhere but at dongmin, bringing a large smile to his face. he'd never thought that the feisty, quick to temper and quick to lose it, loud type was his type but he was starting to enjoy it very much.
"alright, well i know you personally enough, alright?" you huff, crossing your arms over your chest. "we've met before."
now it's dongmin's turn to look flustered, as he wracks his brain, trying to come up when or where the two of you have met before. he wasn't the one-night-stand type, so that couldn't be it. he also didn't have an insane amount of friends outside of the basketball team and donghyun's friends, so that wasn't it either.
"i'm really sorry - and i'm definitely trying to hit on you, just not right now - but i don't remember. i'd definitely remember someone like you," dongmin says, and he's well aware of the fact that his tone does not sound any level of displeased, and rather dreamy.
you roll your eyes, looking down at the ground. "we kissed once. twice actually. but um. that's not my point."
you clear your throat, as if you hadn't just dropped the biggest bomb of the century on dongmin, shaking your head. "why the hell are you playing basketball on an injured arm anyway? i specifically said no sports!"
dongmin raises an eyebrow. "you say you're my fan and yet you're still asking me why i'm playing when we have our first game in a week. and hold on. i'm not letting go of that first part; we've kissed? twice?"
you shrug, but it's clear that you don't think of it as nonchalantly as you're trying to make it sound when you speak. "yeah. in freshman year. once in spring semester and then once in fall. it's not a big deal. to you at least. clearly you kiss a lot of girls, if you don't even remember us kissing at all."
"now that's not fair," dongmin pouts, but he's well aware that he's not conveying this well at all. suddenly, a flash of a girl wearing a red dress, looking up at him with big eyes and a pouty lips crosses his mind.
good god. were - were you dongmin's mystery girl?
+++
"what do you mean dongmin finally found his mystery girl? the one he's been crushing on for a full year?" myung jaehyun says incredulously, instantly pulling out his phone to look you up on instagram.
dongmin sits in the middle of his friends, all sitting at the same table as they were supposed to be eating lunch, his head resting in his hands.
"you mean the one that he swore was the love of his life? god, he wouldn't shut up about that for at least six months," lee sanghyuk says, shoveling noodles in his mouth.
"try a year," donghyun groans, rubbing his forehead in pain. "do you remember the state of this kid when he woke up the next day?"
"good god, it was horrible. all he could say for a full week was that he wanted to jump out of the window because he'd lost her number and that he was never going to find true love because he couldn't remember her name, number, or even what she looked like," sanghyuck adds.
park sungho, the newest addition to their friend group, blinks, looking at dongmin, who's head is still in his hands.
"you were down bad, man," he muses and jaehyun on the side of him snorts.
"down bad doesn't even begin to describe it. it got to the point where we had 'girl in the red dress' and 'true love' jars because he would talk about her." jaehyun sighed, looking at dongmin pointedly. "he'd put enough money that we'd bought alc for the rest of freshman year. just in spring semester."
"that's what you get for trying to prove that you could drink a 4lokos without getting shitfaced," donghyun says, nose crinkling as he recalled the hours he had to spend making sure that dongmin wasn't going to die by choking on his own spit. "and he went and did it twice. it took us months to get to the point where we could invite this guy anywhere so as long as he swore not to bring her up again."
dongmin looks up, almost excitedly. "do you think that if i drink another 4lokos, we'll kiss at another party?"
sungho leans over, smacking him upside the head. "you're so fucking dumb. and i can tell just by these stories. you're not allowed to drink until season's over, idiot. and she's on your medical team. why don't you start by making a good impression while you're not so drunk you're going to start insisting that spongebob is hydrophobic."
("you were there when that happened?")
("you idiot, you thought i was spongebob. you kept throwing my drinks away because you thought i was going to disappear into them if i drank them. which makes no sense because that's not what hydrophobic means.")
("oh. sorry man.")
"yeah. just go to the med clinic tomorrow, apologize to her, and bring her flowers or something. women eat that shit up!" sanghyuk says with a mouthful of noodles and jaehyun nods, pointing his chopsticks at him excitedly.
"they do! my girlfriend always feels better with food and flowers," he says, cheeks stuffed to the brim with carbonara.
dongmin's mind races with all of the implications of doing so, but every single one of his thoughts fade away in light of the fact that he could redeem himself in your eyes. he slams his hands down on the table, swinging his legs over the bench to run to the nearest flower shop.
"i'll be back before practice!" dongmin calls out over his shoulder, waving a quick goodbye as he sprints towards the florists.
he makes it to the edge of the courtyard before he hears the yelling of his friends behind him, turning to see them waving at him (and waving some very rude fingers at him).
"YOU FORGOT YOUR WALLET, YOU IDIOT!"
+++
dongmin's friends were useless. absolutely useless.
he'd went and bought the prettiest bouquet of flowers he could find, a nice meal from his favorite bento place, and had even bought three different types of ice cream bars because he didn't know which one you'd like.
he'd walked right into the medical clinic office, his apology gifts all in hand, ready to apologize to you, redeem his honor, and become your own true love.
the last part probably wasn't going to work anyway, but the first two should've been foolproof.
instead, he manages to prove that he was a fool.
as it turns out, he wasn't the only person who thought that the flowers were beautiful; dongmin had managed to bring the queen bee as a secret surprise in the bouquet, which meant that the rest of her hive was NOT very happy that he'd committed royal kidnap, as far as the bees were concerned.
"HAN DONGMIN WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON YOU!" you yell from underneath your desk, where you were hiding from the sudden swarm of bees that had followed dongmin in.
he doesn't respond, too busy opening the window to drop the flowers out of, hesitating when he sees the number of people that were lounging around the courtyard that the medical office looked out of.
dongmin lines up the bouquet, sending a prayer to god (any one that would listen) as he shoots the best three he's ever shot in his life, so that the bouquet (and all of the bees that accompanied it) landed far away enough from people to prevent them from getting hurt.
of course, a few brave souls had stayed behind to exact revenge for their queen on dongmin, resulting in upwards of five bee stings, before dongmin finally evaded the great medical bee disaster once and for all.
he turns sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.
"i don't suppose i could find medical care in this clinic, could i?" he says, and he's well aware of the fact that he's flushed bright red, as he always seems to when he's made a fool of himself.
thankfully, there are only four or five people, including you, in the office to witness this disaster - although, dongmin can see the girl you were talking to yesterday surpressing a smile.
"yeah, of course you could. but we're all headed on break so unfortunately, y/n is the only person who's gonna be able to give you medical care. you know, since you've already brought lunch for her," your friend says with a knowing grin. she ushers the rest of the medical staff out of the office, closing the door behind her with a telltale click.
"you can come out from under the desk now," dongmin says, and despite the situation, he finds it adorable that in the case of a bee swarm, your first instinct had been to hide underneath a desk.
"i was going to," you grumble, slinking out from your hiding spot and dusting off invisible dust from your pants. "what were you thinking, bringing flowers with bees in them?"
dongmin blushes, tilting his head as he tries to look anywhere but where you were. "i wanted to apologize to you. in my defense, i kinda always thought bees were made up. i mean, they're so fat! there's no way they should be able to fly. that directly violates like every law of aviation in the world."
your eyebrow quirks upward as you look at the ice cream and lunch he had set down on your desk in his bee-induced panic. "i can't believe you're quoting the bee movie at me right now."
"i can't believe you know i'm quoting the bee movie. i should've known the love of my life was an internet connoiseur," dongmin says with a sigh, examining the bee stings on his arm. how did these bees even manage to crawl underneath the sleeves of his shirt?
"excuse me?" you bark, hands on your hips. "did you just call me the love of your life? when you couldn't even remember who i was like yesterday?"
"okay, wait. you don't understand. first, i need you to help me out by getting some ointment on these stings because they're starting to burn and i don't know if that's so normal. and then, i'll explain everything, trust me."
you reluctantly reach back into a cabinet that reads 'insect stings' and grab the kit for bee stings, pulling a cream out of it, beckoning dongmin to come closer so that you could treat it.
"do you remember what happened that night? or those two nights, i guess?" you ask softly, eyes trained on dongmin's arm so that you don't have to look him in the eyes and he nods.
"i remember. well, as much as i can, anyway. i was blackout drunk both times. and from what i remember, you weren't exactly sober either, so i don't know how you remember me but trust me, whatever you think about me is not true. i was - i was so down bad that my friends had to make a 'no y/n' jar!" dongmin yelps the last part when your hand on his arm presses a little too hard.
"i'm sorry! sorry!" you gasp, immediately leaning over to blow cool air on the place you'd accidentally put too much pressure. "what do you mean by a no 'no y/n' jar though? i thought you didn't remember my name."
"i didn't! and it killed me! i don't remember exactly what happened those nights but i remember how much i liked you. i remember thinking that i'd never meet a girl like you in my life. it still frustrates me that i lost your number - although, i do remember the part where you smacked me over the head the second time that we met. i think i suffered permanent brain damage from that.
"but i remember glimpses of that night. like that red dress you were wearing and how much you were rambling about stars. you were giving me an in-depth explanation about how black holes work and something about how rockets look like they're stuck in time in black holes. not the point. but the point is that i genuinely fell in love with you that first night we met.
"i've got this horrid habit though, when i get drunk - i become either super scared of water, or super infatuated with it. it's honestly a coin-toss. so imagine my feeling the next morning when i wake up with a dissolved piece of paper in my pocket that's supposed to have your number on it, semi-wet clothes, and a raging migraine.
"i thought i met the love of my life and i couldn't even remember her name, number, or even her face. it drove me and my friends absolutely nuts. me because i didn't know how to find you when i couldn't remember anything. my friends went insane because i would talk about you so much that they bought me those swear jars for every time i mentioned you.
"of course, i didn't know your name so you were just 'the love of my life' or 'girl in the red dress' but i think i dumped at least 300,000 won in those jars by the end of the semester. and then as if the universe was out to make my life living hell, we met again and i was shitfaced again. i swore to never touch a 4lokos after that, if that's any level of redemption.
"anyway. i brought you flowers and all this stuff because i wanted to tell you that - that i've liked you for a lot longer than even i've known! i remember most of the conversations that we had, even if i couldn't remember exactly who you were. when i saw you at the hospital, i genuinely thought i was falling in love at first sight. but i guess, that's kinda not true. cause that would be my third time falling in love at first sight."
"why, though? three times? i mean, i don't think i'm ugly or anything but three times? yeah, i mean i guess i kinda also had a thing for you after those two nights. god. i wish i remembered what we talked about for us to get this attached," you say, mumbling the last part. dongmin turns to you somewhat confused, watching you as you open up the bento box he'd bought you.
"you don't remember what we talked about? besides the black holes and stuff?"
"nope. but i've also got a horrible reputation amongst my friends for how much i talked about you. the worst part is that i remembered you but not what we talked about. it was so stupid because no one believed me that han dongmin, yonsei's point guard was the guy i'd had my heart for the past year." you instinctively smile the moment you take a bite of the food and even though it's so small, dongmin's heart swells with pride.
"why didn't you ever come up to me? i mean, this whole year of pining could've been avoided if you'd talked to me," dongmin says, accepting the ice cream bar you handed him. how the hell did you know that was his favorite ice cream?
"i gave you my number once, and i kissed you twice. i figured you were just ghosting me at some point if you weren't going to reach out to me. and besides, nursing really picked up right after basketball season so...i kinda just ended up torturing my friends for the past year," you say, somewhat sheepishly, but dongmin is barely even listening anymore.
after all, how many people can say that they fell in love at first sight with the same person three times?
"well. we're here now. will you go out with me? i promise i won't even touch a 4lokos!"
"deal. as long as you promise to tell me everything we talked about that night. i still can't tell why i fell so hard for you that i chased you down a basketball court in front of your whole team."
"my stellar looks? my killer smile? my stupidly handsome personality? my superb basketball skills?"
"try your stupid attraction to water molecules."
"i have a feeling i shouldn't have told you about that."
+++
freshman year, spring semester.
"really? you've never fallen in love before?" you ask incredulously. you and dongmin are sitting on the balcony of some random friend who decided to throw a party, feet dangling over the edges in between the bars.
"nah. i don't think so," dongmin says, leaning backwards on his palms. "i don't think i've ever met someone who's ever made me feel like my entire heart is their's to do whatever they want to do with."
"then let's play this game," you say, clumsily pulling out your phone. "that one thing on new york times, where you fall in love with someone within 36 questions."
"why? you want me to fall in love with you?" dongmin says, leaning over with a cheeky smile. you push him playfully, focused on trying to pull up the questions list.
"you'd do that whether i told you to or not," you fire back. "and besides, i think i'm a fantastic kisser. so you're probably already in love."
"you're right," dongmin says with a sigh. "i think i am."
freshman year, fall semester.
"question 36. i can't believe we never finished all the questions last time," you say. this time the two of you are sitting so close, dongmin can still taste the watermelon chapstick you're wearing. at this point though, dongmin might as well be the one wearing it.
"to be fair, last time i think we were otherwise preoccupied."
"get your mind out of the gutter!"
"i was talking about how many times you kept getting distracted by the dog."
"anyway. we're on question 36; are you in love with me yet?"
"i should be asking you that. i've been in love."
"han dongmin! i thought you weren't the superstitious type?"
"i'll be whatever you want me to be."

Are you just doing x reader drabbles? Because like 84 sorority Wanda and frat Natasha. “This is a one time thing” ahuh whatever you say bbgirl
hello hello here's your thing! It got to be like, twice as long as expected but that's okay!!
cw: 18+, minors dni; smut, soft dubcon, touchy Natasha, light spanking, oral from behind (w receiving), a hint of nerdy Wanda if you squint
Tumblr media
“Nat.” Wanda called, the barest hint of warning in her voice, so little that Natasha had no qualms with ignoring it.
She didn’t miss a beat, sliding Wanda’s too tight gym shorts from her hips, catching the hem of her underwear and removing them in one fell swoop. When the brunette sent a text declaring her incoming arrival a few hours ago, Natasha assumed she’d end up in bed with the girl— just not like this. Wanda surprised her with needing a place to take her Russian Literature quiz, claiming both that her fellow sorority sisters were being too rowdy at her place and her distaste with walking across campus to the library for a simple online module.
But now she faced an unexpected distraction: Natasha’s constantly roaming hands. “Natasha…”
If Natasha heard Wanda, she was good at feigning ignorance, keeping her spot on her knees between Wanda’s legs, exploring her impossibly soft thighs with calloused hands. By all standards, she considered herself gracious, letting Wanda set up her bed, books sprawled around while she laid on her stomach in front of her laptop. She’d kept her hands to herself until now, even given Wanda answers to parts of the quiz; Natasha held out as long as she could.
“Natasha, stop it.” Wanda drew the line as Natasha’s warm breath hit the small of her back; she had no hope finishing her assignment if the other girl continued on. Not that her body agreed with her decision, the experimental touches drawing her attention much more than the last five questions on the screen in front of her.
The redhead pouted, an action Wanda would’ve been oblivious too if it hadn’t been accompanied with an indignant huff. Wanda might’ve been stubborn, but she was more predictable than she thought; even as she stood her ground, Natasha grazed one finger over the juncture of her legs and she twitched. “But if I stop, you’ll just lay here and make my duvet sticky.”
“I would not!” The protest was strong, but Wanda cursed her counterpart for being right, having been subtly rolling her hips into the mattress since Nat first sat next to her and started sneaking in those treacherous touches. And so what if she had; today was the last day to finish her quiz and Natasha be damned, she never missed a deadline. “Can’t you go play your game in the corner? I’m almost done.”
“Aww, but I’m playing with you right now, baby,” Natasha grinned, giving Wanda’s backside a painfully hard squeeze. She fell silent in favor of kissing over the round globes of Wanda’s ass almost reverently, covering the expanse of skin as dutifully as the brunette was typing. She took her time, savoring both the lack of resistance and clear frustration the girl under her fought with.
She thought she could deal with it, focus long enough to complete the last quiz question, but of course it had to be an essay question… just as Natasha nibbled along the crease where her ass curved into her thigh. It was so sudden and sharp Wanda didn’t think about hiding her shriek, “Tasha, please! I can’t think!”
In their months as whatever they were, Nat survived multiple kicks and elbows when she happened to push Wanda too far; a squeaky plea more desperate than dangerous didn’t fool her for a second. She wasn’t a bit surprised when she pushed Wanda’s knees up as easy as she would a doll’s, not a defiant push or shove to be found. “I’m only helping, princess. How are you gonna focus when you’re so needy?”
“I was focusing just fine without your help!” The tail end of her sentence fell off into a yelp, the sharp sting of Natasha’s open palm striking her proffered ass. Spanking was a fairly new thing to Wanda, not that she didn’t know what it was, but being on the receiving end… she liked it more than she’d yet admitted.
As if Natasha couldn’t tell after the first time she had her over her knee and was left with a whimpering mess.
She’d only done it now to watch Wanda’s thighs twitch, her sex now completely devoid of friction as she stayed in the air. Nat couldn’t wait any longer, had to get her mouth on the object of her own desire. She dived down, bending deep to kiss the other girl’s mound. “I’ll finish your stupid quiz for you later, just let me taste you.”
“Don’t you understand the word no,” Wanda sighed, well aware she was done for as Natasha’s tongue slid through her folds. As soon as she found her clit, Wanda was rocking back onto her mouth, spreading her legs further just to feel more. She knew she looked wanton, sounded just the same with all her moans, arms sweeping away her laptop to stretch them out and scramble for something to hold. “Would’ve been done by now if you weren’t so horny all the time.”
“You’re the one who came over looking good enough to eat, not my fault,” her voice was muffled, speaking an afterthought to sucking the sensitive bud into her mouth, sucking and slurping lewdly as Wanda’s back arched into the bed below. It didn’t take long for Wanda to drip down Natasha’s chin, hot and messy. “Fuck, I’ll finish your entire course this semester if I can taste this sweet pussy.”
“T-This is a one time thing… ‘m not a cheater-” Wanda prided herself in her good grades, earned all on her hard work alone. Natasha wasn’t the first person to offer their academic services, but she surely was the most convincing. She felt akin to a live-wire, her entire being shuddering each time the rough surface of Nat’s tongue dragged over her most sensitive areas. This was the first time she’d been taken from behind, but she knew better than to believe her own words that it’d be the last.
Thankfully, she didn’t have to work too hard to give Natasha a reason to fuck her.
“Inside… want your mouth..” Nat uttered a strained groan at Wanda’s request, licking the length of her one last time before backing up just enough to change course, sinking her tongue into Wanda’s waiting entrance.
Wanda wasted no time fucking herself on Natasha’s mouth, fingers curling into the sheets as she panted out her need. “Oh god, yes! Just like that, don’t move-!”
The redhead complied, perfectly content to let Wanda lose herself atop her, stiff fingers patting her full thighs to encourage the brunette on. Curling her tongue was Wanda’s downfall, thick muscle teasing her walls and forcing her over the edge. She held Wanda still, trapping her as she writhed and jerked, catching her name amidst Wanda’s cries and selfishly hoping anyone passing by the room could hear them. “Still want this just once, Wands?”
“Shut up and fuck me properly,” Wanda muttered, wiggling her ass against Natasha who was already pushing her sweatpants out of the way. One look back at her not-exactly girlfriend and the generous strap on set at her hips and Wanda knew this too would end up more than a one time thing. “I’d better get a perfect score on my quiz or I won’t suck you off until the next one comes around.”

In which YN and Sungchan go on their first official date
Pt 1 here!
Tumblr media
It had been a few weeks since the party YN and Sungchan Met at, and the two had spent their time having casual hang outs, and planning their first official date. At least, sungchan was busy planning it, not letting YN in on anything he was planning. As excited as she was, YN felt her nerves growing day by day, as their first official date approached.
“Maybe this was a mistake,” YN said, looking at herself in the mirror. She felt like she spent entirely too long getting ready, that she was putting in too much thought into her appearance.
“Why would it be a mistake?” yunjin asked from the phone. She had been on a call with her friend for two and a half hours, trying to calm her down about the date.
“Because he’s being super secretive about it, and I barely know him,” She sighed, brushing through her hair for the third time. “What if he’s like… a really bad driver!”
“Is that really the biggest red flag you can think of for a guy?” Yunjin laughed at her friend's nerves. “Besides, it’s a first date, if you don’t vibe with it, then don’t go on another. But, you’ll never know unless you try,”
YN sighed. Why did Yunjin have to be right? Why was she so scared of the guy who’s been nothing but nice to her when she’s seen him?
“I can’t do it, I'm gonna fake being sick,” YN declared, walking over to her bed and picking up her phone. When she opened her messages, a new notification popped up.
Channie <3: I’m in the parking lot. Should I come up?
“Fuck,” YN groaned.
“What happened?” Yunjin asked.
“He’s already here, I’m so screwed,” YN stared at the messages.
“If you really don’t want to go, then just tell him that. He’d get the memo.” Yunjin sighed from the other side of the line.
“No, fuck you,” YN said before hanging up the call. She knew she couldn’t back out, she knew she’d have a good time with sungchan, and that she’d regret not going. She grabbed her bag, and texted him back.
YN: I’ll come down
Channie <3: Too late, I'm already in the elevator.
YN brushed through her hair one more time, checked her makeup and heard a knock at the door. She almost ran to the door to open it up, tripping a little on the corner of her bed before regaining her footing and walking to answer the door. When she opened the door, she saw sungchan standing there, dressed up a little more than usual, in a way that makes YN feel less embarrassed that she spent so much time getting ready.
“Hey,” He greeted with a familiar, soft smile.
“Hi,” She gave him a smile back. “You didn’t have to come up, you know. I was gonna be right down,”
“I wasn’t really asking, I was already in the building when I sent the text,” Sungchan smiled.
“Oh, okay,” She smiled, and looked down.
“You ready to go?” Sungchan asked, checking his watch.
“Yeah, sorry,” She nodded and stepped out into the hall, locking her door behind her. “Do I get to know where we’re going?”
“Nope, it’s a surprise,” Sungchan told her, walking by her side as they went to the elevator. “You’ll like it though, I promise,” They stood next to each other on the way down to the main lobby, the silence a bit awkward as they both wanted to say something to the other.
It wasn’t like Sungchan had never been on a date before- hell, it wasn’t like he’d never spent time with YN before. This time, it just felt different. He wanted everything to be perfect.
They walked out to Sungchan’s car, he opened the door to the passengers side for her, and circled around to his seat. He offered her his phone so she could pick the music, and began driving. The awkward silence continued. Both of them wanted to say something, but stopped out of fear that it would make things more awkward than they already were.
Sungchan Kept taking glances at her, looking at her outfit, her hair, the rings on her fingers, anything he could sneak peeks at. He turned his gaze to the road once more, pushing his hair out of his face with the hand that wasn’t on the steering wheel.
“It’s a bit of a drive,” He broke the silence. “So get comfortable,” He turned to her with a playful smile that made YN laugh a bit.
“Kinda shady, you know, taking a girl on a ‘first date’ out of town, not telling her where she’s going?” YN poked fun at him, sungchan just laughed and shook his head.
“You just want to make me look like a creep, don’t you?” He smiled, eyes on the road, enjoying the banter. “Our other is McDonalds, make your choice,”
YN rolled her eyes. “Fine, fine, but I better not end up on the news,” The two of them laughed lightly, the silence that followed became comfortable as they fell into rhythm with each other.
Sungchan returned to sneaking glances at her when she wasn’t looking, a small smile on his face as he took her in. He put more effort into this date than he would want her to know- he wanted her to think he was some spontaneous, cool guy. Not a guy who was so hellbent on impressing her that he planned the best route to get there, reserved the nicest spot at the place they were going. He didn’t want her to know how nervous he really was, how nervous she really made him.
YN caught him sneaking a glance at her, both looking at each other for a beat too long before YN turned away. Sungchan focused back on the road, and she could see the little smirk on his face.
“What now?” YN asked, resting her head against the window.
“Nothing, nothing,” He smiled, eyes still on the road. There was a beat of silence before he looked towards her again, finding her already looking at him. “You look really pretty, by the way,” He told her. “I meant to tell you earlier,”
YN tried to hide the blush that crept on her cheeks. “I was starting to wonder when you’d say it,”
“Sorry to keep you waiting,” He flashed his grin before turning to the road once more.
YN looked down at her lap, trying to figure out what to say back. Should she say he looked good? Handsome? Dashing?
“You look pretty too,” She said, wondering if that was the right word. She heard sungchan’s laugh before she turned to look at him. “What?”
“You could’ve just said I look nice,” He told her.
She frowned. Well sorry-”
“No, don't apologize! It was cute, you did that at the party too,” He told her, reminding her of how she called him cute when they first met. “Besides, I've never had a girl call me ‘pretty’ before.”
“What do they usually call you?” She asked, tilting her head a bit.
“Usually hot,” He shrugged. “But I like Pretty more,”
They smiled at each other.
Silence didn’t resume, the two of them found things to talk about, the awkward tension they arrived with had soon faded away. They found comfort in their conversations, cracking jokes, telling stories, and asking questions until Sungchan parked his car.
He got out first, walking around and opening the door for YN. He offered his hand when she got out, relieved when she took it. They began walking, the area wasn’t familiar to YN, she looked around, taking in her surroundings.
“Are you gonna tell me where we’re going now?” She asked.
“Nope,” He swung their arms, dragging her along. “Just be patient,”
They walked close to each other, Sungchan didn’t stop swinging their arms like a child, as YN laughed at his antics. She kept asking where they were going, to which Sungchan never really answered.
He suddenly stopped them in front of a building, a big glass window adorned with lace curtains, and pretty tables inside. It wasn’t very crowded, and the sound of calm jazz music came from the inside of the restaurant. He gestured to the door.
“Here we are,” He smiled, opening the door for her.
When she walked in she was greeted with the smell of baked goods and freshly cooked food. The restaurant was clean, potted flowers scattered about, local pottery on display, a fresh feeling emanating from the environment. She looked to Sungchan who just smiled, and walked to the hostess.
“I have a reservation for Jung Sungchan,” He said, and YN looked up at him. He flashed her a grin and the hostess looked at her tablet.
“Right this way,”
The two of them followed her through the restaurant. When YN saw a pretty green table with cushioned seats and a small vase holding some tulips, she assumed that was the table he reserved. But when they walked past it, she assumed it must be a larger white table by the wall, soft lights hanging over it. To her surprise, they passed by it too.
When they did stop, they were outside on a beautiful patio, A smooth wooden table with two cushioned seats on either side. The view was of a lush garden, tall trees came up around them to shield them from the sun, a small pond in their sight.
“Your server will be with you in a moment,” The hostess said before leaving the two.
YN was in awe of the scenery, looking around, not noticing when Sungchan circled behind her and pulled out her chair for her. He offered a gentle smile when she noticed him, and sat down. He sat across from her, putting his phone in his back pocket.
“I take it you like it?” he asked.
“It’s…. It’s too much,” she smiled in disbelief, and Sungchan frowned slightly.
“Too much good, or too much bad?” He asked, narrowing his eyes.
“Good! Oh my god, it’s amazing… It's beautiful! I just wasn’t expecting it… like at all.” She could see the relief on his face when she said she liked it. “I really love it, Sungchan,”
“Good,” He smiled, looking at the menu.
“How much did this cost you though? I don’t want you spending all your money on me,” She asked, hoping it wasn’t an exorbitant cost.
Sungchan didn’t want to tell her the cost of their reservation. It wasn’t anything that he couldn’t earn back from work with a few shifts. “Don’t worry about it. It’s money well spent if it’s with you,” He smiled, watching her blush and try to avoid his gaze.
She looked around once more. “How’d you find this place?”
“Do you remember last week when we hung out? You mentioned how Yunjin went out with some of her friends for a day, to this cozy little town that was a bit away, and Yunjin told you about this little restaurant she went to?” He asked.
The week before they had been sitting on YN’s couch, leaned up against each other, Sungchan’s arm draped around her, hand resting on her hip. They had been watching some baking show, which sent YN on a rant about how much Yunjin had bragged about this restaurant she went to with her friends. She was upset she wasn’t able to go because Yunjin showed her a picture of the tiramisu she had, and YN really wanted some.
Sungchan had taken note of the story. The next day he DMed Yunjin asking about the restaurant she had gone to. Yunjin told him she didn’t remember the name, but told him the town they went to.
After getting that, he searched up the town, and spent a good two hours looking through the shops, the restaurants, everything until he found where they sat today. He made his reservation the moment he made sure it was the place, asking for the nicest area they had, and requested extra decoration for a subtle flare.
“You mean the place Yunjin kept bragging about?” YN asked.
“Well I did some digging, and here we are now,” Sungchan told her.
“What kind of digging?” SHe asked suspiciously.
“Months of stalking,” He joked, to which YN rolled her eyes. Their server came in with a basket of fresh bread and butter, filling up their waters and taking their orders. YN ordered a chicken caesar salad with extra croutons and a lemonade, while Sungchan ordered a bowl of Chicken pesto pasta to share, and an iced tea.
YN looked at the flowers, daisies sitting in a painted white vase. She didn’t know Sungchan spent a good while scrolling through her instagram until he found any sign of what flowers she may like.
While they waited for their food, the two of them found themselves in an unintentional game of twenty questions.
“Favorite movie?” Sungchan asked.
“Ten things I hate about you,” She answered.
“Ratatouille,” Sungchan answers.
“Funniest first date experience?” YN asked him.
“It was in like high school, I think. I had a date with this girl, and we were out eating, and then her friends showed up and saw us. They start texting her or some shit, and she ‘goes to the bathroom’ and never comes back. I venmoed her for the money she owed me.” He told her.
“Damn, that’s brutal,”
“Tell me about it,” He sipped his drink. “Your turn,”
“A guy shows up in his work uniform. I don’t think much of it until he checks his phone and says, ‘sorry to cut this short, but my shift is about to start’ and i’m like why would you leave just now? And then when I’m walking out, I see he’s the host of the restaurant. He says bye, and tries to give me a kiss on the cheek,” She told him. “I left a one star review,”
Sungchan burst out laughing. “I thought mine was bad, but damn!” She joined in the laughter.
Soon enough their food arrived, and sungchan scooped out some of his pasta for her, and YN shared some of her salad with him. The two ate, marveling at how good the food really was. YN understood why Yunjin had bragged about it so much. They ate until there was nothing left on their plates except their silverware.
The server came back, and YN expected the check, but instead, two servings of tiramisu were placed in front of them.
“Since you wanted some, I went ahead and ordered it,” Sungchan shrugged, and YN smiled, a genuine grin at the effort he made.
The two ate the tiramisu, YN was in awe of its deliciousness, while Sungchan was just happy YN liked the food so much. When the bill came, Sungchan took it without hesitation, not letting YN have the chance to take it. YN insisted she pay for half, but Sungchan told her he would handle it since he planned it all out. After some protest, the bill was taken back and processed.
When they left the restaurant, they went to an antique store, and YN bought a cute necklace. They shopped around more, there were little boutiques, music stores, produce markets, whatever a person could desire.
They decided to head back when it was around six thirty, arms carrying bags of little goodies they bought, clothes, treats and other baked goods. Sungchan once again opened her door for her, getting into his seat and starting the car. He absentmindedly handed her his phone to pick the music like she did on the way there.
When they started driving, Sungchan let his hand fall to her knee, not really realizing what he was doing, brushing his thumb against her. YN’s eyes widened a bit, glancing over at sungchan as he tried to sneak a peek at her. When he took in her widened expression, he realized where his hand was.
“Is that okay?” he asked, voice quiet, eyes a bit concerned.
YN just nodded, “Yeah, yeah it’s okay,” she gave him a smile.
“You can tell me if-”
“No, dude, really it’s okay, i was just a little… shocked?” She laughed at herself a bit, her hand coming over to rest on his. They gave each other a slightly embarrassed grin, both blushing like idiots.
The drive back to YN’s place was peaceful, but YN couldn’t deny how badly she didn’t want their time together to end. She thought back to the morning, when she was so stressed about how the date would go, not liking it as much as she hoped she would. She was glad she talked herself into going, because if she hadn’t, she wouldn’t have been able to go on what had been one of the most successful first dates she’d had.
Sungchan was smiling to himself, his hand had moved to hold hers as he rested it on her thigh. He was glad his hard work paid off, and was happier that YN seemed to have fun while they were out.
The two of them sang along to the songs that played, rolled down their windows to feel the cool breeze against them, smiling ear to ear as they drove. Sungchan wasn’t trying to hide his looked at her, wanting her to know how much she liked looking at her.
When they pulled into the parking lot of YN’s building, they both were hit with the reality that their date had to come to an end. Sungchan held her hand as they walked towards the lobby. They chose to take the stairs this time, trying to squeeze in more time with each other as they made their way to her flat. No amount of stairs could stop them from reaching her floor, and they soon found themselves having to say goodbye.
Sungchan walked her to her door, still holding her hand.
“I had a lot of fun, Sungchan,” She said, a bashful tone to her voice.
“I’m glad, I wanted it to go well for us,” He told her, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Thank you, really.” She told him, smiling. “It was perfect… kinda too perfect,”
“Better it be too perfect than sucking, you know?” He said, brushing his thumb against the skin of her hand.
“Yeah, you’re right,”
The silence between them was awkward, looking at each other, unspoken words hanging between them as the tension grew. There was something Sungchan wanted to do.
“Can I kiss you?” He asked.
YN blushed, coughing a little and looking away in an attempt to hide how flustered just the question made her.
“After the first date? Don’t you think that’s a little fast?” She joked, moving her hand to rest on his chest.
Sungchan got the memo, wrapping his arms around her waist, brushing his lips against her neck. “You made out with me at a Frat-Halloween party, and almost had sex with me on a couch,” he reminded her, pulling back to look at her pointedly.
YN just rolled her eyes. “Just kiss me, idiot,”
“Yes ma’am,” Sungchan mumbled before leaning in and pressing his lips against hers. It wasn’t the same, lust filled kiss they shared at the party, but it was just as intoxicating. It was a sweet, soft kiss, one that would mean more to them than a sloppy makeout session.
When they pulled away, they smiled at each other. Sungchan loosened his grip around her and took a step back.
“Does this mean I get a second date?” He asked hopefully.
“Well you gotta ask me first,” YN told him. “And I get to plan it this time,”
“Shouldn’t you ask me, then?” Sungchan teased.
“Fine, fine, sungchan,” She looked up at him and batted her eyelashes. “WIll you pretty please go on another date with me?”
“I thought you’d never ask,” He kissed her cheek. “I should probably go now, it’s kind of late.”
YN nodded reluctantly. “Yeah, probably.” She looked up at him with a disappointed look. “Get home safe, okay?”
“I will,” He gave her hand a squeeze before he began walking towards the elevator.
YN went back into her apartment. She had too much fun on her date, and she realized she just might like Sungchan a little too much to let him just leave again. She poked her head out the door and into the hallway, but didn’t see Sungchan.
Sungchan was reluctant to leave, but didn’t want to push his luck after a successful date. He was just glad for the time they got together, even if he was sad he couldn’t get more time with her.
When his phone went off, he didn’t exactly expect the message he received.
YN: come back up here
Sungchan: you miss me already
YN: yes.
YN: come back pls <3
It was a matter of minutes before YN heard three louder than average knocks at her door. She opened the door to see Sungchan slightly out of breath in front of her. She laughed a bit at his wide eyes appearance.
“Did you run up here?” She asked.
“Yeah, why?” He said, taking a step into her flat, wrapping his arms around her again.
YN just laughed at him. “You’re crazy, dude,” She mumbled against him.
“Only for you,” He pressed a gentle kiss to her lips. “Now what did you want? Other than to see my handsome face again?”
“Do you want to get some takeout?” she offered. “Keep our date going a little more?”
“Say less,” Sungchan smiled as YN dragged him inside further, as they decided what food they should order.

sometimes you just sit down and write around 500 words of rambling about your new family!
featuring @darthpastry, @nanochittle, @gibbish-anon-from-gell, @shakespeare-official-account, @thesmallestclown, @i-bless-your-heart, and two others who i dont know the url of!
uh yeah theres not an awful lot of dialogue but eh whtvr!
When Raphael (also known as Ralph, and occasionally as Rafe) woke up that morning, he was one of the few people awake, as per usual. It made sense, since everyone had such conflicting schedules, and as such there were people living in the house Raphael had never even met, but that didn't make it any easier to be nearly alone in the giant house. It didn't help that he was still relatively new compared to everyone else, but whatever.
"Good morning guys!" As usual, the only on up and at home was Darth, who waved. Nano was probably awake, but at school, and Gibbish was heading to bed around now. Other than that, Starbucks normally awoke in about an hour, and then everyone else would wake up in their own time.
"Good morning!" Darth responded from the sofa, and Raphael sat down nearby after getting breakfast - after all, it is the most important meal of the day - and he scrolled through Tumblr for the next hour or so.
"Morning," Starbucks said, stretching as she did so.
"Good morning!"
And the morning continued like that, with Clown appearing randomly mid morning (did they ever go to sleep? Raphael wasn't entirely sure the answer was yes) and Starbucks heading off to school around the same time.
After that was afternoon, when the majority of people would really wake up. Occasionally people like Bing would pop in around this time, but generally it was the same six or so people all afternoon.
Shakespeare woke up around this time, and would pop in randomly and act all sappy with Clown before disappearing for anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, and Vivaldi, also known as Ipod Nano, would get up around mid-afternoon. Nano would also make their appearance and start interacting with people regularly, and as usual they were... Well, just look.
"HELLO EVERYONE!" Nano burst through the door around the same time as Gibbish woke up, and startled Raphael so badly he fell out of his chair.
"Hi Nano!" Darth responded, and the others copied suit.
"HELLO DARTH! AND CLOWN! AND GIB! AND RALPH! AND SHAKESPEARE! AND EVERYONE ELSE!!!" Nano ran around, being affectionate to everyone currently up, and somehow people who weren't.
It was a few more hours before Blessie would wake up, but when she did everyone got excited all over again, with Gibbish and Nano being the loudest of all, as usual, and Raphael and Darth being the quietest.
Seriously, how were Darth and Raphael the two most normal people here?
Shakespeare had disappeared off again, so for some reason Clown was... being weird with Gibbish? The incest in this family is insane, honestly!
(Although Raphael hadn't exactly made it better, considering Gibbish was also his kid... Although technically that was his spouse's fault! Raphael hadn't adopted Gibbish!)
Anyway, Clown was clowning on Gibbish, and everyone else was kinda just watching, so Raphael decided to go literally anywhere else.
"I'm gonna go to bed now, good night!" Darth said, heading upstairs, and Raphael figured he should probably head up as well.
After saying his goodnight's, he went to bed, and prepared to do this all over tomorrow.

Month 15 - Newleaf
Battle With Razor Pt 1
Goldenstar sat alone in a small dip in the woods where the trees parted around the remnants of a very old, rotted tree trunk. Eyes closed, she took a deep, slow breath of the pungent, mulchy air and strained her ears to try and hear any movement within the forest around her. She didn’t like how much the trees and the spongy earth dampened every sound further away than a fox-length and stifled the breeze.
It was early morning, pre-dawn, and the forest birds were just starting to sing. Goldenstar couldn’t hear much else and it made her stomach twist nervously. She knew that was the point, that the cats hidden in the trees were supposed to be undetectable to anyone in the clearing but she couldn’t help but worry that they had all gone missing for some reason, that they wouldn’t come to her aid when she needed them.
That’s not gonna happen, she reminded herself. Just stay calm. You’re doing this for Scorch.
Taking Razor out of play would benefit everyone, obviously, but Scorch was the cat who kept coming back to mind. For her, for her, for her, she told herself over and over as the twilight inched slowly towards the morning. She reminded herself of the pawprints Razor had left all over her beloved and readied herself for the fight of her life.
The sound of a cat bounding through the trees in her direction pulled her from her thoughts. Springing easily around the roots and stones of the woodland, Orangestar came running from the direction of the thunderpath with her tail arched worriedly behind her. For the purpose of their ruse, she was serving as Goldenstar’s second and had been waiting on the edge of the forest to guide Razor and the other rogues into the trap. Goldenstar frowned and stood to meet her.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
“They’re nearly here,” Orangestar said, pupils wide, breath scarce. “A lot more than just two.”
“More than we have?” Goldenstar whispered urgently.
Orangestar paused, glanced over her shoulder, then said, “Um, I don’t think so.” She swallowed and crouched down to try and catch her breath.
“Then it will be alright,” Goldenstar said, standing up to her full height in anticipation. “We were planning for this, remember? StarClan will see us to victory.” Somehow, with a more nervous cat there, she managed to believe it this time.
“Yeah, okay,” Orangestar said, nodding to herself. She let out a long breath and then moved to stand just behind Goldenstar. She could see cats moving through the trees now, hear the jingling of multiple bell collars. The crowd of cats wasn’t making any attempt to mask their presence. Suddenly, Goldenstar understood Orangestar’s jumpiness. No matter how many cats she knew were hiding just out of sight, the war party advancing steadily on her position was intimidating to say the least.
There were at least two dozen cats, maybe three, about a third of them obviously kittypets. Clearly, they were anticipating significant resistance. Most all of them were toms, many with scarred faces or torn ears, some with the distinctive notch of the Chaff. They loomed hungrily out of the trees, eyes glinting fiercely, teeth flashing in anticipation. They looked like a pack of starving dogs circling a meal and Goldenstar became acutely aware that she was the meal they were hungry for.
At the head of the group was a towering kittypet with a scarred muzzle, slim cheeks, and tufted ears. Even without the description Yarrowshade had given her, she would have recognized Razor from his resemblance to Mystique. The patterning was different but the features were all the same.
Razor tilted his head to mutter something to the ginger tabby next to him who Goldenstar recognized from the other day. The ginger tabby nodded and muttered something back which made Razor smile. Goldenstar’s hackles prickled instinctively.
“Well, well, well,” Razor called across the last few fox-lengths of space, “if it isn’t Goldenstar herself. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
“This isn’t what we agreed,” Goldenstar said. “It was supposed to be just you and your second.” She just had to stall long enough for the reinforcements to arrive
“No, you see, we never agreed on anything,” said Razor with an airy tone. “My men said they would bring your offer to me and they did.” Halfway there. Razor himself was getting terribly close. “Honestly, I’m surprised you didn’t bring an army of your own. You wild cats really are as dumb as you seem.” He smiled a dastardly smile that curled up to show his upper gums on one side, his sharp and unnervingly white teeth bared dangerously. Those were the same teeth that had killed Smokyrose and worse.
Goldenstar bristled and puffed herself up to try and match him for size, at least a little. “I wanted to settle this peacefully,” she hissed, “but you seem determined to force my paw. You’ve given me no choice but to stop you with force.”
Razor laughed and turned back to his followers like a performer in front of an audience. “You hear that, boys? The little girl is going to stop me with force!” The group laughed along obediently. Goldenstar’s cheeks burned with humiliation despite herself. Razor turned his attention back on her with a dark, menacing rumble. His tail flicked left and then right and, immediately, the kittypets behind him started spreading around the dip to form a circle. Orangestar shuffled anxiously and turned to stand back to back with Goldenstar, claws flexing against the leaf litter.
Razor stepped in closer and took a deep breath of Goldenstar’s scent and she repressed a shudder of disgust. His grin slid off his face as he looked down at her, their chests a mouse-length from touching, replaced with a cold and pitiless glare.
“Tiger was right,” he growled, lowly enough that only she could hear. “Her scent is all over you.” Goldenstar swallowed. How had that detail slipped her mind?! Of course he would smell Scorch on her fur! They shared a nest! Goldenstar spent every waking moment trying to be near her! Razor smiled again at her paling expression but the smile didn’t reach his eyes.
“Mm, so you knew,” he said, stepping forward again so she was forced to back up, bumping into Orangestar’s hind quarters. “You knew you were taking something of mine and you did it anyway.”
Anger burst to life like flames in Goldenstar’s chest. “She doesn’t belong to you!” she spat in the same quiet tone. “She never has and she never will!”
“That’s where you’re wrong,” Razor snarled. He was so close she could feel his hot breath on her face. “I might have forgiven you if you truly didn’t know what you had done but I won’t stand by and let a filthy, backwards savage like you get away with corrupting my mate with your-” his words caught in his throat briefly, a small noise of disgust while he searched for the word, “perversions.”
Goldenstar didn’t know how to respond to that. She could barely process what ‘perversions’ he was even referring to.
She shook her head, discarded the thought, and raised her voice to address the entire crowd instead. “I don’t want to shed any unnecessary blood! Any Chaff who stand down or retreat will not be pursued!” Razor tilted his head back and laughed cruelly.
“You don’t get to set the terms here, girl!” He cried. “Your blood is the only blood being spilled today. If you beg, maybe your death will be quick.” In a flash, he swiped his claws at her face with enough force to knock her to the ground. Goldenstar ducked out of the way, stomach clenching, and bobbed back in to strike at his nose with her own claws. He pulled back, a look of indignation on his face, but she managed to nick one of his nostrils, drawing blood.
A few of the gathered rogues hissed disapprovingly. Razor held still for a moment. Goldenstar could feel how tense he was holding his body as he slowly and deliberately ran his tongue over his muzzle. He let out a slow, restrained breath.
“You… little… bitch,” he said through gritted teeth. Goldenstar ducked down into a defensive crouch in preparation for the dam that was about to break. Where are the others? She thought desperately.
Razor lunged for her, hissing furiously. She sprang into the air, and his teeth scraped her foreleg instead of closing around her neck. She bounced back onto her hind legs and lashed out with both paws. Most of her strikes passed harmlessly through his thick coat. One barely caught his cheek.
Behind her, Orangestar wheeled around and smacked Razor sharply in the throat. He coughed and turned on her, scoring a wound over her right shoulder. The look in his eyes was wild, like a rabid dog, lost in a bloodlust. Goldenstar bunched her legs to try and leap on his back, when a sudden yowling split the air.
Every head in the clearing turned outward as a wave of screaming Clan cats poured out of the trees around them. The circle the rogues had formed quickly collapsed as cats rushed to meet their foes or gave ground under the assault. Goldenstar’s heart soared hopefully.
“Look out!” she heard Orangestar shout and she just barely managed to twist so that Razor’s teeth sank into her shoulder and not her throat. She hissed in pain and rolled onto her back to rabbit kick at his face with her hind claws. Pain lanced through her as his claws wrapped around her torso and tugged at her pelt, then suddenly he released her with a shout and reeled back, blinking away the blood dripping into his left eye.
Behind him, Orangestar had sunken her teeth into the tendons of one of his back legs and was tugging as hard as her jaws would allow, dancing back as he tried to wheel around and claw at her. The noise of the battle was overwhelming now, a cacophony of tumbling bodies and wrathful screams. Goldenstar tried to block it out as best she could. Her one job was to kill Razor, her and Orangestar both. Only when he was dead could they refocus on the rest of the battle.
Baring her teeth, she lunged again, body singing with the thrill of righteous battle. For Scorch! her heart cried, burning with all the power of a shining golden sun.

jackie taylor x fem!reader
summary: jackie taylor is the elementary school's art teacher.
warnings: too much fluff, jackie and reader being adorable, not proofread
you weren't expecting to stay for any longer than five days this time. that was the initial plan and the words you had said to your parents on the phone before you arrived to wiskayok, new jersey.
the second high school was over, you took the first bus to new york and never looked back. okay, never was a strong word. despite the strong feeling you had to free yourself from the place where you had an awful time in high school, sometimes you would come back to visit your family and your sister, in special.
not wanting to miss her growing up, you had to work extra shifts on the bookstore to pay for a decent looking car, capable of going back and forth from new jersey to new york twice in a month.
now, it was an special occasion. for her 8th birthday, you promised her that you would spend the week in your family home and spend time doing fun things. and by fun things, she meant fun things for her.
the first thing you were asked as soon as you put your feet inside was "what did you get me?"
after wishing your sister a happy birthday and watching her open her present, you sink into the couch with drowsy eyes after some good two hours driving, feeling exhausted. you were so tired that you weren't even paying attention to what the small human full of energy was chattering around you.
"what do you think we should do first? we can go roller skating!"
"bug, i hate roller skating. you know that." god, you remember the last time you fell on your face. you wore a purple eyes for weeks.
"...or we could go get me new books! mom promised me you would go out with me." she keeps talking, not paying attention to you. that was going to be a very long week.
the very next day, you could barely open your eyes when your sister forced you to wake up early and drive her to school, affirming that it was part of the birthday package you promised her even though you didn't actually recall that
[🎨]
you had the brilliant idea to go straight home after dropping the kid at school and sleep for the rest of the day. or until she got home with quick loud steps and a vibrant high-pitched voice.
your great idea fell apart when you were effectively blackmailed by a tiny human dragging you to her classroom, excited to show you everything. you weren’t even sure if you were allowed in there but you followed her anyway.
"that's cool, bug! you did that?" you encouraged her regardless of the many screams of the other kids hurting your ears, right after seeing the paint strokes in a small canvas forming the figure of a person. for a eight year old, the kid had some actual talent. it was better than what you could do.
she nods, extremely proud of herself. "ms. taylor is teaching us how to paint for next week's art fair. you’re coming, right?"
five days. five days was all you could do. it was a pain in the ass to convince your boss to let you skip work for a week and you only managed to do it cause she was a friend of the family. more than that and you would turn into a jobless woman.
“i’ll see what i can do, alright?” you get on your knees to match her height. “now i’m gonna go home and later we can watch…” your voice trails off when your attention is stolen by a woman entering the classroom.
wearing baggy and colorful clothes with glasses that made her look even more attractive, she had a few books threatening to fall from her hands and loose paper sheets. nothing like the old women you used to have for a teacher when you were young.
“good morning, party people! sorry i’m late today.” she doesn’t seem to notice you, too busy and overwhelmed while organizing her desk. she was probably used to be surrounded by loud gremlins all the time, you thought.
she was about to say something but her lips closed after not even a second, knitted brows and an uncertain but polite grin painted on her face. “oh, and i think we have a visitor today.”
and your world fully stops when she looks at you. flushed cheeks as you were practically drooling.
“that’s my sister, she's visiting for my birthday!” the little one fills the awkward silence, not looking like she cares about your unexpected loss of words.
“aw, this is so sweet.” she frowns for a second and all of sudden, her eyes are on you “and are you having a good time down there?” she chuckles, causing your heart to skip a beat, and only then you notice your knees hurting. you were still on the floor, looking like a full time idiot. you hear the other kids the room laughing as well.
“yeah, i was just… tying her shoes.” you stand on your feet as quickly as possible, nearly losing balance.
“no, you weren’t. my shoes don’t have-.” your hand flies over your sister direction to cover her mouth.
your legs were feeling like thin sticks as you walked towards the light haired woman, extending your hand to her. “hi, sorry.” you said falteringly.
“it’s all good. i like to stay on the floor sometimes too.” she offers you an empathetic smile. “i’m jackie.” she finally shakes your hand.
“jackie.” you echo her, subtly shaking your head. it felt like you were absorbing her name into your soul. even her name sounded like something that could be in a movie. “hi. i’m-“
“i know. your sister talks a lot about you. but i guess i wasn’t expecting you to be like this.” you freeze again.
“like what?" your voice trembles as you ask.
she didn’t say anything but you feel her eyes wandering around you while she smiles.
jackie gave you an excuse, apologizing for interrupting the conversation but emphasizing how she desperately needed to start the class. she was already late and you felt bad for taking so much of her time.
“it was nice to finally meet you.” is all she says and you made sure to say it back. before walking through the door, you quickly wave at your sister, not wanting to disrupt them anymore.
you immediately gave up on the idea of sleeping for the entire day. how could you when you had just met jackie taylor?
overthinking everything was like a piece of cake for you, as easy as blinking. but it wasn't hard to overthink things when jackie's first impression of you was probably a terrible one, knees on the floor and making a fool of yourself.
you were happy to welcome your sister back home from school, disregarding the fact that she told your parents that you were drooling over her art teacher on your damn knees. how can kids remember so much?
wanting to know more about her very interesting teacher, with ice cream for dinner, you succeeded in finding out that jackie taylor wasn't a married woman.
"why do you wanna know that?" you struggle to understand the few mumbles thanks to her stuffing her mouth with ice cream.
"okay, i think you had enough." you whisper, slowly moving the bowl away and ignoring her question.
[🎨]
for the next two days, between a bookstore visit or going out for ice cream, you would give jackie taylor a thought. not because you cared or was interested, of course, you were just curious. and you wanted to fix the impression you made on her.
"are you driving me today?" was the question you were asked every morning.
too tired, too sleepy, too early, bad headache, terrible cramps. were all the excuses you gave her so you could have a few more hours of sleep. until the third day.
"school is starting soon!"
"hmm, i don't know if i'm taking you... i'm feeling so-"
"ms. taylor's class is the first one today." you notice her playful tone. she knew you too well.
"good. i'm actually feeling so good today." fast as the wind, you shoot out of the bed.
"you don't have to walk me there anymore. i'm not a baby." the eight year old complains as she notices you following her inside.
"sure, i know. i just wanna make sure you're safe." that wasn't a full lie. yes, you were looking forward to talk to jackie again, but you still cared about your sister.
[🎨]
you were fifteen minutes earlier that the actual class time and by the time you walk into the room, jackie was already there. with your sister going straight to talk to her friends, that was your chance.
"good morning." you timidly knock on the halfway open door, not wanting to scare her.
"hello there!" jackie closes the book that was laying on her big desk in front of her, fixing her gaze on you. lips curving upward. "not tying any shoes this morning?" standing up, she adjusts her slightly crooked glasses as she watches you get closer.
"not today, no. too hard to find any customers." you join her tease, feeling like you have been blessed as she laughs.
"you should try the art exhibition next week. lots of shoes to tie in there." you caught yourself thinking that she may be flirting with you but maybe you were just going crazy for drinking so much coffee lately.
"i would love to tie some stranger's shoes on a school event." playing along, all you could think was that you urgently had to stay for more than just five days. time to beg your boss twice.
"nice! i'll see you there, then." about to end the conversation, jackie's smile widens and the simple act almost makes you fall on your knees again.
"actually..." you fight to not stumble over your words as you create the fastest excuse ever to see her again. "my sister and i are going out for roller skating tomorrow. you should join us."
jackie's gaze lifts back at you, eyebrows raising in curiosity.
"why should i?" she had the casual smirk adorning her face, probably enjoying this entire situation much more than you.
"because... we're going to a park nearby and there's a few tables in there. what's greater to an art teacher than a pretty view to paint?" you were quite proud of how quick your mind worked.
jackie seems to take a brief moment to think about your words, even though she had already made her mind minutes ago.
"it's a deal."
"what? you hate skating. remember when you had a purple eye? that was funny." you turn around to find your sister standing by the door, giggling at the memory of your swollen face. jesus, for how long she was in there?
[🎨]
you met jackie at the park after spending the entire day double-checking your helmet and all of your safety equipment. you couldn't afford to fall again. not this time.
with a huge bag and many art supplies, jackie carefully placed everything on the picnic table while being squeezed in a hug by your sister. the first thing you noticed was how jackie dressed the exact same way out of school. free of any boring clothes and with no glasses this once.
"you actually came." you shyly mirror her grin.
"of course i did. i need to paint something for the fair and i thought that the good old blue sky and pretty trees would do the job."
"so an empty canvas is what made you come?" nervously, your eyes dart back and forth at the brushes on the pine table and her eyes.
"not just that. i think the companny is pretty rad too."
after feeding the ducks with your sibling, you joined jackie by sitting in front of her. she appeared to be so relaxed even when being so gentle and cautious with the paint. you couldn't help but feeling at ease as well.
"found something worthy of being painted by you?"
jackie looks at you over the canvas with rosy cheeks and a contented smirk, affirming with her head. "i think i did."
"it's nice of you to stay longer." her narrowed focused eyes are back on her work, sometimes meeting yours.
you didn't remember telling jackie that it wasn't on your initial plan to stay that long and as if she was capable of reading minds, she snorts before explaining herself.
"she told me you wouldn't be here for the art exhibition." her head points at your sister, skating around the small lake.
"she really does talk a lot about me." you joke, referring to what jackie said when you first met her.
"why did you?" eyes locked on the piece of work, jackie tries to sound unbothered.
"stay longer?" she agrees silently.
"i figured that i really like art. and i couldn't miss such an important event for her."
"so your love for art was what made you stay?" jackie questioned and, once or twice, you would catch her more concerned glance at you.
"not just that. i think the art teacher is pretty rad too."
in the middle of longing stares and jackie blushing for the first time, you hear a childish voice calling you.
"aren't you coming? you're so boring!"
snapping out of the jackie taylor effect, you realized that you still haven't fulfilled your promise to skating with your sister.
jackie, not worried about the painting anymore, quickly put on her rollers with a huge beaming expression. without a single effort to stay still on those things, you became aware of how experienced she was.
"come on, i'll help you out." standing in front of you, she offers you a hand and you don't wait much to accept it.
[🎨]
you were a nervous wreck when the big day came and it wasn't even your works that were going to be exposed to people. in honor of jackie, you tried to wear something formal like a nice looking suit and elegant shoes. a bit too much for a simple school event but it was much more than that to you.
at school, you were surrounded by an impressive quantity of paintings already framed on walls. some of them were adorable, made by younger students.
being pulled by your sleeves, you spend a few minutes in the area where your sibling's works were hanging in and seeing her so happy made you pleased to your decision to stay.
with a single poppy in hands, you find jackie talking to someone, probably a parent. at the exact moment your eyes met, she quickly excuse herself from the conversation to walk towards you with energetic steps.
"all of this looks amazing. you look amazing." is all you can say, not caring about the ear to ear grin on your lips.
"hi! you look great too. i like the suit. so fancy." her hand tenderly brushes over your shoulder, feeling the soft fabric of your clothes.
"it's a special occasion, right? and, here, i got you something."
jackie's face radiates happiness at the second she sees her favorite flower being handled to her, eyes sparkling at you.
"thank you! how did you know i like them?" she tucks the flower into her hair, prettier than ever.
"you know, she talks a lot." you two share a laugh. "aren't you gonna show me your work?"
as her silky hands covered your eyes from behind you, she guides you to the wall with all of her artworks.
"you ready?" your nod in response and she let go of your eyes.
as soon as you open them, one specific framed canvas catches your attention. it was jackie's first view from when she was sitting at the picnic table the other day. you and your sister feeding the ducks on the lake, with the exact same clothes you were wearing. there was no doubt.
"jackie..." you gasp, stunned, jaw almost hitting the floor.
"you like it? i thought it would be something worthy to paint." she's nervous. you can hear her shaky voice as she speaks.
instead of saying something, you spin around to face jackie behind you. with trembling hands, you trace her jawline before pulling her in for a kiss.
you were a big fan of art now.

Come With Me
Summary: Nika gets drafted to a team all the way across the country, and you're terrified of what's coming next, but she has everything planned out.
inspired by this request
wc: 917 warnings: angst if you squint, nothing else really pairings: nika muhl x fem!reader
Tumblr media
After being with Nika for the last three years of your life, spending almost every single day with her, sleeping in her bed every night, you couldn't imagine how life would be if she got drafted to somewhere far from you.
You were hoping she'd be drafted to the Connecticut Sun, so you two could stay together after graduation. If that didn't happen, you at least hoped for a team on the east coast.
Of course, your hopes and dreams were shattered, but momentarily put on pause, when you heard her name called as the Seattle Storm's first draft pick.
Pushing down any emotion but happiness for Nika, you jump up and hug her tightly. "I'm so proud of you." You whisper against her ear. She pecks your cheek before hugging a few others and heading up to the stage.
You can't help but let a few tears fall down your face as you watch her. You're overwhelmed with pride, excitement, sadness - pretty much every emotion ever.
Your girlfriend is going to be a professional basketball player. How many people get to say that?
When she comes back over to you, your arms wrap around her neck and you pull her body close to yours. The two of you have never been much for PDA in the past, but in the moment, neither of you cared.
"I am so incredibly proud of you, my love." You mumble before pressing a sweet kiss on her lips. She can't help the smile forming on her face, and she kisses you back before pulling away.
Her hands settled on your waist and she spoke softly. "I love you."
"I love you, Nika."
The next few days felt like a blur. Nika was packing her things to head to Kelsey Plum's Dawg Class training camp. As you watched her from the doorway of the bedroom, a small frown etched itself on your face.
Nika glanced over at you and saw your expression. She stopped what she was doing and immediately walked over to you. "What's wrong, bebo?"
You shook your head. "You're leaving."
Her hands settled on your waist and pulled you towards her. "Only for a week. Then I'll be back and-"
"And then you have to go to Seattle. Not just for a week or two, but for good." The tone of your voice was sad, and Nika found herself frowning.
"That's only if I make the team." Her thumbs gently stroked the fabric of your shorts her shorts that you stole.
You laughed in a bit of disbelief. "You're making the team, don't be ridiculous." You stared at her and felt your eyes beginning to water. "I really don't want you to go. To leave me." Your voice was low and shaky.
She placed a kiss on your forehead and pulled you into a tight hug. "I don't want to leave you, either. If I could stay, I would."
You sniffled and nodded. "I know. You're just-" You took a deep breath. "You're gonna be so far."
Nika pulled away and looked at you, her soft brown eyes not leaving yours for a second. A brief light lit up in her gaze, and you noticed it. "Then come with me." She spoke quickly, like she was ripping off some sort of metaphorical band-aid.
"What?" You looked up at her.
"Come to Seattle with me. After graduation, we can move out there, and- We won't have to be apart." Her words came out so delicately and you found yourself mentally falling apart.
Uprooting your life and moving to the other side of the country? It sounded insane, almost. "Nika.." But you would do anything for her.
"I'm serious, we can get an apartment- or even a house- and it'll be perfect!" You had never seen her so genuine about something in her life. Your heart was pounding against your chest, you felt like at any moment it would leap out and expose to Nika how she was making you melt.
You stared at her for what felt like forever as you contemplated your choices. You could either go with her after graduation, and live the life you've always wanted with her, even though you'd be throwing everything in Connecticut behind. Or, you could stay here, losing the best thing that's ever happened to you.
You'd lose the one person that kept you grounded, that knew your coffee order without having to ask, knew what temperature you liked the bedroom to be at night. She was the only person in your life that had ever given you so much security to where you felt like, maybe, you just could give up everything else for her.
"Okay." You nodded, tears spilling from your eyes. "Yeah, okay."
Nika could’ve screamed at your answer. "Really?" Her eyes widened and she brought a hand up to wipe your tears. "You really want to?"
“I do.” You sniffled, angling your head to lean into her hand.
Her smile was wide as she leaned in and pressed your lips together, only for a split second before pulling back and pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“I love you, bebo.” She mumbled.
You tucked your head under her jaw and took a deep breath. “I love you.”

omg i keep thinking about reader teasing rafe all day, and like reader keeps like finding reasons that they can’t have sex just to see how far rafe would go. i feel like rafe would either not stand for it or he would get so angry
so bitchy reader coded!!!! she loooves to do this
Tumblr media
teasing rafe is fun because it's so easy. he's such a sucker, falls for your same tricks everytime. you have him running in circles without doing anything at all.
and at heart, you like to see it. it's fun for you—watching him chase you. he cares enough to do it, hasn't stopped even though it's been weeks and months of the same, ever since you caved and allowed yourself to realize you wanted rafe to be your boyfriend.
it starts the same—his favorite dress. strapless, with a pretty blue pattern and a ribbon border that ties into a bow on the neckline, at the curve of your tits. you look pretty, you always do, but this dress makes you even prettier, you think. you pick it out knowing he goes crazy over it every time, knowing you were going to make it hard for him today.
it's not really a day dress, so you slip your white cardigan over your shoulders to make it seem more so, climbing into the passenger seat of rafe's truck with a little too much show, revealing a little too much leg and hands lingering on the seatbelt across your chest a little too long.
when rafe sees you, he swallows hard, and you already know your plan is working. he stares, where the seat belt tightens on your body and the expanse of your thighs that's openly visible now that you're seated.
"rafe?" you question, staring back at your boyfriend while his eyes are hyperfocused on your exposed skin.
"hm?" he looks up at your eyes for a second.
"are you gonna drive or just keep looking at me?"
"oh. uh-" he shifts the car into gear, taking off, though you catch him staring back at you every few minutes. the next time he does, you move your hand to his cheek, pushing it gently so he's looking on the road.
"eyes ahead, perv. i don't wanna die because you're horny," you say it with a laugh, though he doesn't take it as one.
"shut up. why'd you wear that dress?"
a good question. why had you worn the dress? because you and rafe had gotten into a little fight the night before, and there was nothing more satisfying to you than making him cave first in your fights.
"my others were in the laundry. tough."
when he arrives at the country club, it just hits him there's a fully planned day ahead—lunch with top and kelce, golf, dinner with your parents and then the party later that night. there's hardly any time to get you alone.
"listen, princess, i think-"
"gonna be late, rafe! let's go," you say, making a show out of getting out of the truck and flashing him in the process. he groans before getting out to join you.
the day moves painstakingly slow for him. at lunch, you take off the cardigan and lean in to tell him something twice, letting him stare down the front of your dress for a moment before you pull away. when you go to the bathroom to freshen up, he gets up to join you, but you yell out to a friend in the distance and walk in with her, smiling back at rafe.
he sits back at the table grumbling something.
"what's wrong with you?" kelce asks, "never seen you this mad before golf."
"shut it."
on the course, his game is completely off. you keep bending over to retrieve the golf balls after he holes out, walking back and placing it into his palm with a sweet smile, though you are anything but.
"what're you doin'?" rafe asks, holding you close with your arm in his hand.
"getting the ball for top. what else?"
"no, you're fuckin' not." he grips your arm a little tighter, but you break loose, turning around and smiling back at him, before bending over to pick up top's golf ball and placing it in his hand.
he makes it to dinner with your parents angry and horny. you're seated next to rafe, rattling on about your day to them with a hand on rafe's arm. your foot rubs against his ankle, crawling further up while he tries to tell your dad about his golf score.
"the new course is great," your dad says, just as rafe feels your hand on his thigh.
"y-yeah," rafe chokes out.
"you okay? drink some water," you say, smiling like a concerned girlfriend instead of the little devil you really are.
a full day's events later, he gets you alone at the party, setting his beer aside to yank you by the back of your dress into the nearest empty bedroom. your friends stare while rafe drags you away, though you don't look the least bit upset about it.
"hey! you're gonna rip my dress," you say, trying to get free from his insanely strong grip.
"shut it. what the fuck was that all day? huh? thought that was cute?" rafe sounds about as angry as you've ever heard—it's a lot hotter than you had expected.
"what? i didn't do anything."
"shut up. get on the fuckin' bed."
"okay!" you chirp, agreeing immediately. teasing rafe was only fun because you got what you wanted out of it—him, at the end, all angry and tense and pent up. you reach back to undo the bow on your dress, getting ready to unzip it when rafe's hand stops your own.
"no. leave it on."

hi! may i request headcannons of enemies to lovers with bo sinclair? 💖
LOVEDDDD writing this!!!! i missed writing for bo :(((( (me when al i do is write for this guy) anyways i hope you enjoy and thank you for the request!!!!
Bo Sinclair x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
WORD COUNT: 869
WARNINGS: brief mention of stockholm syndrome, brief mentions throughout about bo being an evil evil guy, mentions of the basement/chair/being duct taped to said chair, canon typical stuff. me pushing my bo praising agenda.... also not proofread sorry guys
so this is absolutely how any relationship with bo starts
youre a victim babe CONGRATULATIONS <3333
so in my own personal (and correct opinion) bo likes someone with some fight in them
i mean, we saw how excited he was when he had to chase after carly
and ive read the script and bo is extra into carly in that script
anyways, he loves having to Work to break you in
and trust and believe, he will break you in
you would come into town with a group and bo would be drawn to you immediately
not in a love at first sight kinda way (or at least, not like how it is typically LMFAO) but in a ‘interesting…’ way, you know?
anyways, he’d prefer you coming with a group because hes gonna seriously enjoying killing them all off and showing you that youre alone
youre getting strapped to that chair too
(again, congratulations <333)
he will take his time
bo doesnt have the best patience until it comes to you
your fighting or begging would get old but he cant kill you
he doesnt know WHY he cant, but he just cant
which pisses him off to no end.
youd stay in the basment for minimum a month, longer if you hold out that long
now, your time there is not fun by any means, but i dont think it would be the worst
because once Bo decides that for some reason youre different than the others he brought down here, and that he wants to keep you, hes going to break you down by being sweet
it would fuck you up, 100%
one day he’s carving into you and making you wish you were dead and the next hes carefully feeding you some (burnt) breakfast food and cooing at you
he’s also complimenting you whenever you listen to him, firing off those dopamine receptors in the only way he knows how
you dont scream when he walks down into the basement? he’s patting your cheek with that big toothy grin of his telling you how sweet you are.
you dont fight him when he wraps the duct tape around your wrists and ankles? he’s telling you how well youre doing, how hes gonna try and be gentle with you, shushing you gently when you wince, maybe even hinting that if you keep being good for him that he might stop duct taping you to the chair…
he fucks with your head
and he KNOWS hes fucking with your head
he can see the way you stop yourself from smiling when hes kind to you, how you get a flash of confusion or even anger when you and he are getting along
it gets him off fear to say
anyways, im saying all this to say a true enemies to lovers with bo is stockholm syndrome but he makes it sexy so…
you know youre pretty much in the clear when he takes you up to the house
first few times is only to feed you and then back to the garage you go
its just to get a feel for how youre feeling towards bo
ANY whiff of you trying to run or trick him and youre dead
sorry to say
but if you are a little scared and just want to stay on his good side, youre totally good AND hes gonna be soooo proud of you
sorry im feeling faint thinking about bo praising me….. ok sorry back to what i was saying
the first night you stay in the house with him hes on high alert
he might pretend to sleep in the bed, but hes not
hes holding his breath and waiting for you to try and kill him in his sleep
once youre at the point where youre living in the house with him and hes giving you some responsibilities, you have that man hook line and sinker
he is obsessed with you, had been from the start, but he is showing it way more now
and hes CLINGYYYYYY ugh im giggling
hes standing in the doorway watching you do the dishes he got dirty and hes like ok….im heading to the garage…………if you finish you can join me………or you can finish the dishes later….maybe……whatever i dont care…
like ok liar ill come watch you be a slut bent over a car
he doesnt ever really ask you to be his partner but its kind of obvious with how he acts? like idk how to describe it, he just treats you like hed treat a partner without asking you
because lets be fr what would you do? say no?

Adventure
a/n: this was supposed to be the second prompt to post but the idea i had didn't strike me too much so i put it off lmao
summary: seth takes you on a trip to the beach now that the off-season has started
word count: ~ 1.8k
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With the off-season in full swing, and Seth having little to no responsibilities when it comes to hockey, he had all the time in the world to spend with you. As proud as you are for him and all, you miss being able to spend hours together, without him having to go to the arena or some meeting.
That’s why today, Seth had plans for the two of you, and he was planning on keeping his phone off the entire day and paying attention to only you.
“Morning, honeybee,” Seth mumbles against your cheek, pressing a kiss to it as you finally awake. He had been awake for a couple hours already, preparing everything for the day he had prepared for.
“Mm, morning,” you groan, stretching your arms above your head. “What are you doing up so early?” Your eyes dart to the clock on the wall, noticing that it was only about 8: 42, and Jarvy was one to sleep in a lot, so it was rare for him to be awake before 11 most days.
“I’m taking you on an adventure,” he simply states.
“An adventure?” You question, raising your eyebrows. He smiles sweetly and nods, his hand beginning to mess with the ends of your hair.
“Yep. I’m gonna go make some breakfast for you, maybe a smoothie, and then we can head out.”
“What should I wear?” A yawn escapes you as Seth gets up from sitting next to you.
“Swimwear. We’re going to the beach.” You cheer in excitement and Seth can’t help but laugh, getting ready to walk out of the room.
“So make sure to wear that cute little number I love so much,” he winks with a smirk. Rolling your eyes, you sit up and take a moment to wake up a little bit more.
You head over to your dresser and dig to find your swimsuit that had gotten buried over the past few weeks. It was a red bikini top and a pair of red and white striped bottoms; Seth loved the color on you and he could never keep his hands off of you, of course it was only in private that he was doing said things.
He returns with a couple pieces of toast with strawberry jam and a side of scrambled eggs by the time you finish getting dressed and ready with an old t-shirt and shorts acting as a cover up, which you knew was lost somewhere in your closet. He also hands you a fruit smoothie that he’s gotten good at making.
Soon enough, the two of you are packing up, Seth’s car and driving about three hours to the closest beach. You control the music the entire way there, singing loudly as the wind blows through your hair, Seth looking over at you every now and then with a huge smile on his face.
He finds a place to park before hopping out to gather all the stuff he packed. While you were asleep, he put together a bag with a couple towels, including one to lay out in the sand for you to sit on, as well as a cooler with drinks and lunch for later on.
Thankfully, since it was a weekday, it wasn’t terribly busy so you were able to find a good spot where people weren’t crowding just yet. Seth helps you set out the towels, securing them down with the cooler and bag.
“Wanna go in the water with me?” You ask him, slipping your shirt and shorts off, setting them in the bag. Seth’s eyes rake over your body and he can’t help but bite his lip. You take this moment to smack his shoulder playfully, eliciting a giggle from him.
“What? I can’t look at my beautiful girlfriend? Is that a crime now. Maybe quit being so gorgeous,” he stands to join you, resting his hands on your hips as he smiles at you, leaning down to give you a sweet kiss.
“Mm, watch yourself, Jarvis,” you tease. “It’s not a private beach.”
With that, you push off him and run towards the ocean, stepping over the incoming waves and diving in once you get deep enough. The warm, salty water washes over your body, instantly easing all of your worries.
Seth isn’t too far behind you, his laugh ringing out above the ocean, following you as much as he can. When he finally catches up, he grabs your hips once again and pulls you into him. With being a little far away from the shore, you two could be a little more sneakier, and of course he can’t help but squeeze your ass.
“I can’t get enough of you,” he murmurs, kissing you deeply. “Have I told you how incredible your body is?”
No matter what you wore or how you were feeling about yourself, Seth always made sure to comment on how beautiful he thinks you are and how much he loves your body. Every time, he said it with so much love tenderness, and a majority of the time it wasn’t even in a sexual way, but in a way to show his admiration for you.
“Once or twice,” you joke, your cheeks heating up under his gaze. He smiles warmly and kisses your cheek this time.
“And I mean it, baby,” he whispers, pausing to lift you up from your slightly bent standing position to wrapping your legs around his body, wading a little bit further out. His hands caress your thighs and he continues to stare, his bottom lip pulled between his teeth.
“I love you, Jarvy,” you whisper, your hands wrapping around his neck to steady yourself.
“And I love you,” he replies.
The two of you stay in the same area in the water for a while, splashing each other playfully and chasing each other, then pausing to tell one another a story or something that’s on your mind.
After half an hour, you head back to shore to eat the sandwiches that Seth prepared for you, along with some fruit and veggies.
“Aho invited us along to the beach house that he’s renting out a few weeks before the start of the season, one last get together with all the wives and girlfriends, if you’re interested,” he says before tossing the last bite of his sandwich into his mouth. “Not everyone is going but he has a house for ten so he has space.”
“That sounds like fun,” you agree, looking out at the water.
“He has all the dinners planned, game nights, we can go into the city for a day or two, it’ll be a great time to unwind before the stress of everything.”
After reapplying sunscreen, you decide to walk along the shoreline to look for shells while Seth laid out and took a short nap, his hat covering his face to shield the sun. You were enjoying listening to the sound of the waves against your ankles, waiting for the waves to disperse so you could grab whatever shell caught your eye.
After an hour of looking and walking pretty far down the beach, you trudge back with your small bucket, about a fourth of the way filled with small shells and fragments, as well as a small amount of shark teeth that you were lucky enough to find.
When you get to your spot, you see Seth sitting up, looking around, a confused look on his face. Coming into view, his shoulders appear to relax and he sets his phone aside.
“Where’d you run off to, huh?” He questions when you reach your spot, plopping down on the towel.
“Collecting shells,” you beam, dumping the bucket over and displaying them. Seth picks up a few one by one to look at them, listening to you ramble about where you found it and how you’ve never seen one that looked a certain way.
He was smiling as he listened, being as careful as ever with the more delicate shells, watching as you dry the bucket out and place them back in.
“Where do you plan on putting these, baby?” He wonders.
“I have a little shadow box I bought at the store that I’m going to start putting them in, and add on every time we come to the beach. I thought it would be a cute idea.” Seth’s heart soars in his chest at the thought. “So you can help me look for shells on our trip.”
“I would love to, that sounds like such a sweet idea.” Seth leans over and kisses your cheek before he stands and holds his hand out for you, dragging you to the water with him again.
“Since I fell asleep while you went looking, I want to pick some out,” he says crouching down to look in the sand, immediately picking out a pretty cream-colored one, with some hints of purple inside. So, for another hour, the two of you comb the shoreline in the opposite direction from where you walked a little while ago, starting a new tradition in your relationship.
Around four in the afternoon, you pack your things up and head back to Seth’s car, dusting all the sand off of everything before throwing it into the trunk. Before stepping into the driver’s seat, Seth grabs your waist and pulls you into his body, kissing you sweetly as his hands move up to cup your cheeks.
“I love you so much,” he tells you once more.
“I love you too, Jarvy.” He giggles at how dazed you sound, both from the kiss and from the exhaustion taking over you.
It’s a long three hours back, Seth holding your hand in his while you sleep for half the drive, but Seth doesn’t mind. Every now and then, he looks over to check on you and can’t help the smile that remains on his face.
Upon arriving home, you help Seth bring everything inside, but leave the stuff sit by the door, deciding to wait until tomorrow to unpack it all, as it was pretty late when you finally get back home. After showering and dressing in pajamas, the two of you wash the shells that you brought home in the bathroom sink together.
Setting them on some towels to dry, Seth wraps his arm around your shoulder and presses his lips to your temple. It’s a sweet and intimate moment, something that seems to be rare with Seth when speaking to him in public, but behind closed doors, he’s the biggest softie ever.
Once all the shells were dry, you carefully place them into the opening of the shadowbox, along with a polaroid you took at the beach today, before closing the box and turning it upright carefully.
“Where should we put it?” He wonders, walking back into the bedroom. You clear a space on your dresser for it, turning back to Seth with a wide smile.
“Perfect,” you comment, hugging him with your arms around his torso.
“You’re perfect,” he whispers back.

Ch. 1 In Which Sabine is Ezra's Best Friend
Sabine had been looking differently at Ezra the last few days. She wondered if he noticed. He wasn't that same kid they'd rescued on Lothal all those years ago. He'd grown into a fine young man— and to think, all it took for her to notice was almost losing him forever.
The minute she found out about his plan to sacrifice himself, a number of words to describe him came to mind. Idiotic. Brave. Reckless. Noble. Stupid. Heroic.
He'd been adamant that the rebellion could stand him, that Lothal would be fine without him, that the rest of their family would be okay without him. In a way, he was right. The Rebellion could get on without him. Lothal could get on without him. The rest of the Ghost Crew would find a way to get on without him.
 But she couldn't.
She made him promise that he wouldn't go through with it unless it's what it absolutely came to, and they spent the next two days working tirelessly to come up with a plan that would save Lothal without Sabine losing her best friend.
 And somehow, it worked.
Ezra now stood before his people as a hero, in a ceremony they threw in honor of all the valiant heroes who'd liberated them. A lot of members of their squadron had been asked to give a speech. Sabine had narrowly escaped the draft on that, but Ezra hadn't been so lucky.
"I really do wish I could thank every one of you," Ezra was saying, standing before not only most of the inhabitants of the planet, but also the hundreds of rebel cells watching via underground holonet, "old Joe, Jai, Ryder, that old lady I pickpocketed a week before joining the fight— but, uh, most of all, I'd like to thank my family."
He paused for a second to collect his thoughts, a new record for the longest time Ezra could go without talking.
"We wouldn't be free right now if it wasn't for the sacrifices along the way," Ezra said, "and I know my parents and Kanan would be proud of us."
Sabine stood close enough to see the tears welling up in Ezra's eyes, but he pulled himself together pretty well as he turned to their captain.
"Hera, a long time ago you told me that if all I do is fight for myself, then my life is worth nothing. Thank you for showing me something worth fighting for."
Sabine didn't need to be standing near Hera to know that tears were gathering in her eyes as well.
Ezra then turned to Zeb and Chopper.
"Zeb, you're the big brother I never wanted— and still don't want— but always needed. Chopper, though, I could live without."
Chopper beeped passive-aggressively a few meters away.
"At least he mentioned you, little bucket of bolts," Sabine thought, "not that he needs to talk about me. Why should he?"
"And most of all," Ezra said, and he turned to her with a smile on his face as his eyes somehow found hers, drowning her in their depth and intensity, "my best friend, Sabine." His tone lowered, as though, despite the fact that his words were being broadcast across the galaxy, he was only speaking to her as he shook his head and added, "I couldn't've done it without you."
It was just a simple sentence, but those words clacked around in Sabine's mind for the rest of his speech, even as he turned back and addressed the crowd gathered before them.
 "My best friend."
She'd known Ezra was her best friend, but she'd never assumed she was his.
 "My best friend."
Ezra couldn't go more than ten minutes without making a new friend.
 "My best friend."
Surely, in all the hundreds of people he called "friend," shouldn't there have been one closer to him?
 "My best friend."
But no, Ezra had looked her in the eyes and told her and the entire galaxy that she was his best friend.
 "My best friend."
 Still, she needed confirmation.
As he wrapped up and the crowd began cheering, Sabine pulled him aside, not entirely out of view of the people below, but at the very least out of their primary focus.
"Did you really mean that?" Sabine asked.
"That refreshments will be served in the square as soon as we wrap up?" Ezra asked, restating the last words of his speech, "of course."
"Not that," Sabine took a deep breath, "when you said I'm your best friend."
"Absolutely," Ezra smiled, then quickly followed with, "I mean, if that's okay with you."
"Of course," Sabine said, unsure what to call the feeling in the pit of her stomach, "you're my best friend too."
His eyes washed over her in rich blue waves, powerful enough in small doses, but more than enough to knock her off her feet if she wasn't careful— and today, she wasn't. He started to turn and walk away, but she put a hand on his shoulder, and his eyes overtook hers again.
"I'm really glad you didn't sacrifice yourself," Sabine said.
 He smiled. "Me too."
In that moment, all there was in the galaxy was her and Ezra. Instead of taking her hand off his shoulder, she stood there. After a moment, Ezra placed his hand on her shoulder— no, not on her shoulder, on the back of her neck— and he pulled her toward himself.
She could've pulled away. She could've punched him in the gut and run. Instead she leaned closer, ensuring that his lips landed on hers.
Maybe it was a moment of weakness. Maybe it was all the pent up emotions from the past week— loss, hope, triumph, regret— finding an outlet for release. Maybe Sabine had finally just realized how much Ezra really meant to her, and she to him.
Either way, she was kissing Ezra Bridger, and in that moment she held zero regrets about it.
She'd always wondered at how Ezra could ramble, always saying so much in a short span of time. It was no surprise that his kiss did the same, sending a message worth a million rambled words, one she was more than enthusiastic to hear.
Time stood still and so did they, afraid that if they moved for even a second, the world would move around them, and this perfect kiss would end.
She couldn't tell which of them sighed a soft "oh," as he pulled her just a touch closer, just like in all the old holofilms.
 Holofilms.
 Crap.
These speeches were being recorded on holofilms.
And broadcast across the entire rebel holonet.
And there was no way the cameras weren't picking this up.
Sabine pulled away from him quickly, trying her hardest to regain her breath as her hands and lips removed themselves from her best friend. For a second, he looked confused and almost a bit hurt, but he regained himself in an instant, his face turning a shade of red Sabine hadn't known was possible.
They both turned back to look at the crowds over the edge of the balcony, careful to leave an obvious amount of space between each other. Still facing forward, Ezra leaned his head toward her and whispered, "do you think they noticed?"
Down below, a holo projector of their video stream, with text below it that said "INSTANT REPLAY," showed a recording of their kiss, blown up to about seventy five times larger.
"Yeah Ezra," Sabine said, using a facepalm as a guise for hiding her blushing face from any further holocam recordings, "I think they noticed."

Bear!Price pt 6
Price made light conversation during the ride to his place. He tries to ignore that itch under his skin to touch you. But he keeps things polite. He’s stays gentle with you.
He pulls up to his den house and turns off the car. He hoped you like the place. We’ll change whatever you want. Price tried to breathe through his nose and keep his focus. He counted to three before he got out the car.
“I like your place.”
John put his hands in his pockets to distract himself from rumbling happily, “I’ve been fixing it up a bit since I’ve moved up here.”
You looked back at him and smiled, “It’s nice.” Price was fucked.
“We should start our lesson.” He saw you beginning to stretch and get your hair out of your face. He could of swore you were doing it on purpose, but he couldn’t call you out on it. So he tried to look as politely as possible.
John walked to the porch of the house and took his jacket off. He felt eyes on his back and he tried not to preen under your attention like he did a few days ago. But this time was different. This time his purpose is to teach you to fight. Just in case.
“First things first,” He walked back over to you, rolling up his sleeves, “If anything happens where you feel unsafe, you call me.”
Your forehead creased, “Call you?”
He gives a firm nod, “Absolutely.” You must have saw how serious he was about this; about your safety. You showed you understood, your playful manner dropped for the moment. “If you ever feeling in trouble, I’ll take care of you.” That was more of a promise than he could ever mean.
There was a moment between you, a silent acceptance.
Price smiled, content and pleased. You followed suit. “Now,” He changes the subject and steps back, preparing his stance, “Show me what you got.” He teased.
Your smile turned devilish and a spark of adrenaline shot through Price unexpectedly. His vision became focused and fully on you.
You ready your own stance, much different than his, but he’ll correct that later. He spots your hand, noting the way you are about to throw that punch, uneven and unsteady. You swing and he feigns easily. “You gotta try better than that, sweetheart.”
Your smile becomes devilish as you try again. This time, your punch was faster, held more weight behind it. “Good girl. Again” He doesn’t think as he praises you, but your cheeks still tinge with color.
The next time you throw a punch, you connect it with a combo. If Price hadn’t ducked, you may have landed your strike. I smile in triumph as you notice his delightful surprise.
“My girl’s got some bite to her, huh?” Price taunts, dropping his guard for you. “Give me what you got.”
You accept the challenge with stride, going for a left fake-out combined with a low right, aiming for the body. She knows how to attack. Price’s breathing gets heavier the more you force him to dodge. He can’t deny the burst of energy that burns through him. He notices his senses becoming clear and in-tuned to you. A quick glance down to his knuckles, lets him know he still has his usual fingers, furless. Good.
You take advantage of his distraction, almost catching him off guard as you go for a body shot. You were fast. Price was faster. He was able to grab your wrists and bring you closer, pinning your hands to his chest. You smelled so much better up close. “Cheeky, I see.”
You shrug as you tilt your head up to look at him. “I’m a fast learner.”
Price tries to keep his cool and lets go of you, letting you step away and reset. The space between you both lets him breathe fresh air for a second before you notice how you’ve affected him. “The one thing you’ll learn from me is to fix your stance.” When you look down, Price pushes your shoulder and you stumble. “Your center of gravity is off.” He places his hand on your side to keep you upright. “If you’re gonna attack you need to know your defense is strong.”
You nod, giving him your full attention. Those eyes had him trapped. But, he stepped back, trying to remember this lesson is for you, not him. He almost could see you deflate before he continued, “Get back in your stance.” You do as instructed.
John takes in your stance again, this time beginning to circle to evaluate. You feel like you’re on display, a predator sizing up their prey. Price notices the shift, “You can relax, deer.” And you listen beautifully.
Price is pleased when you become more confident in your stance. “Good girl.”

Chapter 7
The day before I was to leave for Germany, Matt took me aside and said, “Baby, as much as I hate to say it, we’re gonna have to face it. Our time is up.” I broke down and hung onto him tightly, burying my head in his chest.
“I’m not leaving,” I said, sobbing. “I’m not leaving you. I’ll call my parents and say I missed the plane.”
“C’mon, Baby. You think they’re gonna fall for that?”
“Then I’ll tell them the truth: that I love you and that I won’t come back.”
“Hey, hey.” He was trying to calm me. “You’re just gonna make it worse for the next time. I’ve been thinkin’, I always wanted you to see Graceland. But right now, I’ve got some business to take care of in Boston for a few weeks, and then I’ve gotta do another film. So if you go back and do well in school and behave yourself, maybe your parents will let you spend Christmas at Graceland with me and my family.”
I loved the idea, but Christmas was six months away. Anything could happen between now and then.
That night in bed Matt held me very close for a long time. I felt that he was doing more than just comforting me. He was telling me how deeply he cared.
And more than that: His deep belief in consummating our love affair only in marriage gave me hope for the future.
Later, our lovemaking had more feeling and intensity than ever before. Matt wasn’t going to let me go home without my taking a little of him with me. He didn’t enter me; he didn’t have to. He fulfilled my every desire.
“I want you back the way you are now,” he whispered just before dawn. “And remember, I’ll always know.”
I smiled and nodded. I couldn’t conceive of wanting anyone but him.
Matt didn’t walk me into the airport. We kissed goodbye in the limousine. It was a tender but excruciatingly brief moment. I didn’t think the pain could have been greater even if he told me I’d never return.
I walked onto the plane like a robot. I was in a daze that lasted throughout the eleven hour flight. I talked to no one and didn’t care who saw the tears constantly streaming down my face. My world had come to an abrupt end. Finally I closed my eyes and in my mind I relived every moment of my visit. Suddenly the stewardess was telling us to fasten our seat belts for the landing. The thought of freshening up before we arrived never occurred to me. I just sat in a daze, waiting for the plane to taxi to a stop. Then I listlessly gathered up my things and made my way out.
When I first saw my parents, my mother was crying with joy at seeing me and my father was wearing a big welcome-home smile. But as I came nearer, their expressions changed from delight to absolute horror. My father turned away angrily. For a moment my mother just stared. Then she reached into her purse, pulled out a mirror, and thrust it at me.
“Look at yourself! How could you walk off the plane like that?”
I glanced at myself in the mirror and immediately understood their response. Two weeks before, I had left them, a fresh-faced sixteen-year-old, wearing a suitable white cotton suit and innocent of anything but a touch of mascara. Now, not only was I wearing the heavy makeup that Matt liked, but my tears had smeared it all over my face. I hadn’t bothered to lift a comb to my hair, which was unkept and tangled. My parents were shocked and disappointed.
Too embarrassed to look at them, I put my hand to my face and nonchalantly tried to wipe off the residue of black mascara and liner. Then I said, ‘I’d like to go to the ladies’ room.”
“You’re going straight home,” my father snapped. “If you left it on this long, you might as well keep it on another hour.” He hardly said another word to me until we got home and I washed my face.
Christmas in the family was always a major production, but Christmas 1962 was one time I wasn’t concerned about presents. I was bound for the place that I had often dreamed about but never let myself believe that I would actually see—Graceland.
Getting there hadn’t been easy. The plotting and scheming had started one morning at 2:10 a.m., when I had sleepily answered the phone to hear Matt’s voice. He seemed in great spirits. Laughing and joking, he told me that RCA had sent him some horrible demo records for his next movie. “I’m listening to ’em, Baby, and I can’t believe what I’m hearing. I have to laugh because if I don’t, I’ll start cryin’.”
I chuckled sympathetically, but I could hear the sadness in his voice. Then he said softly, “Little Girl, I want you here for Christmas. I don’t care how you arrange it or what you have to tell your parents. I’ll go along with anything you say, as long as you get here.”
I was shaking as I hung up the phone. I couldn’t imagine my parents allowing me to leave again—especially at Christmas—but there was no way I was going to let him down.
After a few days of silently avoiding the subject, I casually brought up Matt’s request to my mother.
“Absolutely not,” she declared. “It’s out of the question. Christmas is for the family. That’s the way it’s always been and it’s not going to change—not even for Matt Sturniolo.”
I wouldn’t give up. My poor mother was torn between making a dream come true for her daughter and doing what was right as a parent.
“When will this end?” she murmured with an anguished expression. Finally she agreed to speak to my father.
That was the breakthrough.
Again the pleas. Again the promises.
One month later, I was on a flight bound for the United States. Matt had asked James and Angela to meet me at La Guardia Airport in New York and escort me to Boston because he didn’t want me to travel alone.
By the time we reached Boston, I was both exhausted and exhilarated. We went to James’s home on Hamilton Drive, a short distance from Graceland. Matt had left explicit instructions that only he could drive me through the gates of Graceland.
A few minutes after we arrived, he called. His father handed me the phone. Before I could say two words, Matt blurted he was on his way. Minutes later the door flew open and I was in his arms.
Graceland was everything Matt had said it would be. The front lawn was adorned with a nativity scene and the white columns of the mansion were ablaze with holiday lights. It was one of the most beautiful sights I’d ever laid eyes on.
Inside the mansion a crowd of Matt’s friends and relatives all stood waiting to greet me. I felt relaxed and comfortable as he introduced me to everyone, because I had already met several of his friends when I was in Los Angeles.
Then Matt said, “y/nn, there’s someone special who’s waiting for you.” With a smile, he led me up the stairs and opened the door to his grandmother’s room.
“Dodger,” he called out. “Look who’s here. It’s little y/nn. She’s come a long way, Dodger, to be with little us.”
Using endearing terms like “little us” was his way of being affectionate. His mother had raised him on this sweet talk and Matt spoke it with those he cherished.
Dodger smiled and greeted me in her soft voice. “Good God, child, it took you a long time to get here.”
She was sitting in a high-backed overstuffed chair. I leaned over and she gave me a hug and patted me on the back. I was delighted at how good Dodger was looking, her hair, once completely gray, was now a natural looking dark brown. I noticed she wasn’t as thin as she’d been in Germany. At 18 Hauptstrasse, Dodger had presided over a busy household; at Graceland she had withdrawn to her room.
After Matt left us alone, I could tell something was bothering her and asked, “Grandma, how has everything been with you?” She looked at me and then down at the lace handkerchief in her lap.
“I don’t know, Hon. I’m worried about Matt and James. Matt is still upset over his Daddy’s marriage.” James and Angela had gotten married a year earlier. “He don’t spend much time at Graceland anymore and his Daddy’s worried. I hate to see the two of ’em upset like that. Lord have mercy. Matt didn’t go to the weddin’, you know. Matt is tryin’ hard, but when she comes over he just gets up and leaves the room. I don’t know if he’ll ever accept it.”
She reached for her snuffbox. It was an endearing habit that she tried to keep secret.
“But I don’t want you to go worrying about it,” she continued. “You go off and have a good time with Matt. That young’un needs you now.”
I nodded and kissed her cheek. “I promise I’ll take care of him, Dodger,” I said, feeling guilty leaving her. She worried too much, just as all the Sturniolo’s did. It was contagious.
She laughed softly and said with a smile, “Ain’t no one ever called me that but Matt.”
All that night, the guys played pool, watched TV, and hung around the kitchen badgering Pauline (“VO5”) while she played short-order cook.
I realized that there was no set routine at Graceland. Everyone came and went as they pleased. It wasn’t a home, but rather an open house, available to the guys and their dates all with Matt’s approval, of course.
The evening ended around 4 a.m., when Matt finally said good night to everyone and took my hand. I was really exhausted since, in anticipation of the trip, I hadn’t slept for two days. As I walked up the white-carpeted staircase, I closed my eyes and wished I was already in bed.
In his room, Matt gave me two large red pills, explaining, “Take these now, and by the time you come to bed, you’ll be nice and relaxed.” I really didn’t need anything, but he insisted, saying that they would help me sleep better and were a little stronger than what I’d taken before.
I didn’t recognize them. They were larger than I’d ever taken before. You’d have to be a horse to get these down, I thought, but I reluctantly swallowed them.
I went into the dressing room to bathe, and as I sank into the tub, my head settled on the edge. My arm was so heavy I could barely raise my hand; my eyelids seemed weighted. But I felt good and kind of silly.
The longer I soaked, the less energy I had and I only barely managed to get out of the tub. Trying to focus on the bed, I staggered over to where Matt was lying. Then I collapsed.
After that, I was occasionally awakened by the sound of distant voices. One time, I thought I saw Matt whispering to me. Another time I saw his father. I didn’t know if I was dreaming or hallucinating, but when I closed my eyes I could feel the room spinning around.
Then I felt a soft hand gently rubbing and patting my arm. “y/n? y/n? Hon, it’s Grandma, you all right?” Slowly I tried to lift my head, but it was too heavy and it fell back down.
“What’d you give this young’un?” I heard someone say. “You got no business givin’ her something she’s not used to. Son, maybe we ought to call a doctor. She’s in bad shape. I don’t think we should take any chances.”
I managed to focus my half-closed eyes on Matt and gave him a wink and a giddy grin.
He said, “Hell no, we’re not callin’ any doctor. Look, she’s comin’ to.”
Kneeling beside me, he held up my head, and I saw that I wasn’t in his room but lying on the white chaise lounge in his office, which adjoined the bedroom.
“What am I doing here?”
“I walked you in here after the first day,” he answered in a concerned tone. “We were trying to revive you.”
“But I just went to bed,” I said, slurring my words.
“Baby, you had us all scared. You’ve been out for two days on two goddamn five hundred-milligram Placidyls. Must have been out of my head giving them to you that way.”
“Two days! That’s two days off my trip. What’s today?”
“December twenty-third.”
“Oh no.”
“Don’t worry. We still have plenty of time.” He smiled at me and said, “I promise, Baby, I’ll make it up to you.”
“Merry Christmas,” Matt said proudly, handing me a honey-colored six-week-old puppy.
“Oh, Matt. He’s the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, and the smallest.” I gave Matt a big hug and heard a muffled yelp between us. “Oh, Honey!” I said. “I’m sorry.” I had unwittingly just named the pup Honey.
It was Christmas Eve. Matt had prayed for a white Christmas and—as if on cue—that night three full inches of snow fell.
The gathering around the tree included James and Angela, her three sons—David, Ricky, and Billy—the entourage and their wives, and a handful of Matt’s other relatives and friends. Everyone was pleasant and made me feel welcome, though it must have seemed strange to see me rather than Nicole sitting beside Matt. Nicole had shared Christmas with him the two previous years. Sometimes I couldn’t help wondering if he missed her. It wasn’t easy for him to let go of people. I knew that.
It was fun watching Matt open gifts. “Just what I needed, another jewelry box,” he quipped, unwrapping the fourth one of the evening. He looked over at Gene Smith, one of the few people who could consistently make Matt laugh.
“You give me this, Gene?” he asked.
Gene mumbled, “Naw, M, I didn’t give it to you.”
Then Matt reconsidered. “On second thought, I don’t guess you did, Gene. It’s got too much taste.”
“Ah, M, how can you say that?” Gene was mumbling in his slow Southern drawl.
“Easy.” Matt’s eyes narrowed. “Just look at you, Gene, a living example of ba-a-a-d taste.”
Pretending to be insulted, Gene walked away scratching his head, as everyone laughed.
Although there were lots of jokes, I sensed a sadness in Matt’s look as our eyes met, and I couldn’t help recalling what he’d once said to me in Germany: “Christmas just won’t be the same at Graceland without Mom. It’ll be hard for me, and I don’t know if I can bear the loneliness. But I guess I’ll manage. God will give me the strength somehow.”
“Oh, look, Matt,” I said, trying to distract him with a large, colorfully wrapped present. “Here’s one more you forgot to open.” It was my own gift to him, a musical cigarette case, which I’d purposely saved for last. I held my breath as he unwrapped it.
He opened the box and it began to play “Love Me Tender.”
“I love it! I really do, y/nn. Thank you.”
There was a twinkle in his eyes, and I wished I could always make him this happy.
