I'm feeling so anxious rn. I have a camera set up in my living room to check on Ossy when I'm at work and he spends about 80-90% of his day in there. Today, he left the living room around 10:30 and hasn't returned. I called out to him through the camera several times and then played a siren to grab his attention but he hasn't reappeared. He was recently diagnosed with medial patellar luxation and I'm terrified he tried jumping on my bed and hurt himself 😰😰
We're having a farewell toast to one of my coworkers and I feel like I need to stick around for a little bit but I'm soooo worried about him

What I survived in 2023
sister divorcing her husband
sister needing a restraining order against her husband
her husband wanting alimony and shit talking her to her kids and showing up at the school to scream at her about how she doesn't care about them
mom having complicated medical issues and going to the hospital and then short term rehab
twice
finding out mom lied about the car accident
mom getting severe flu that turned into a blood infection she only told us about after she spent a week crawling to the bathroom. somehow separate from the two short term rehab and hospital issues.
manager screaming at all of us about how we were spoiled and didn't know how good we had it while he was off the clock
HR saying no one corroborated my version of events when I tried to report it
Getting forced out of my job of nine years by the new clinical director who accused me of lying about that and about faking my medical conditions
realize despite working there nine years i know almost none of my coworkers and have maybe one friendship from it
cat getting a bad uti, finding out he pukes blood if he's on antibiotics for a week when he needs to be on them for a month, so I have to inject him twice a day for two weeks.
as soon as he's fine, find out other cat of 13 years has terminal cancer
best friend needs ankle fusion surgery and will be confined to her room for three months
dad catches covid
catch covid
get a new cat. within a week of having her, find out other cat of 12 years also has terminal cancer
realize someone I like and was hoping to be friends with is emotionally incompatible with me

I have come to the point where when planning when to get up and what I have to do before I leave, I, completely 100% unironically, have "an hour of self loathing" as the first thing on my to do list.
I almost physically cannot move in the first hour of being awake and all I can do is lay in bed and scream because I don't want to I do not want to
I could sleep a whole hour extra but then I have to cut some other things off my list, and sometimes that's just not possible.
Example:
Like tomorrow I have an audition. That means I have to leave at 10.10.
That means I have to be ready at 10.00
And that means that I have to be done warming up and practicing before 10.00, so I should prob start at 9.00
I also have to eat and take a quick shower so I have to start those things at 8.00
Which means I have to wake up at 7.00 so I can spend my very necessary hour crying or worrying or (in tomorrow's case) pure anxiety. And watching YouTube or playing online yahtzee cause I'm addicted to that.
And it's now midnight. I'm screwed. Goodnight.
(also 2 people have said good luck to me for my audition so now I'm gonna fail. Thanks.)

All Fools' Day, 1311
The twins were born on quite the day - All Fools' Day! One could say that her children pulled the greatest trick of all on their mother. Being two instead of one!
The Queen was still resting in her chambers, Charity (and Olive!) took the brunt of the childcare so she could sleep. Elfain and Elanor are. . . interesting babies. They are either completely fine or need to be held then and there.
Truly royal babies, Charity joked to Olive.
Edward, overwhelmed with joy, decided to throw a banquet to celebrate. As much as it would be better with his wife in attendance. . .
He was filled with happiness. A happiness that had left him when his sister passed away. He shouldn't be surprised that Henford on Bagley struck back, considering the previous king was taken in their invasion and their previous queen is in his dungeon. . .
But for now, there is no thought of war or death! There are babies! An heir!
"Thomas, my brother!" Edward called, cheerfully, grabbing his hand in a firm shake and pulling him into a hug. "You already know the news, don't you?"
"I believe everyone in the castle knows, brother. We all heard you, running through the halls like a madman last night."
Before, Edward would have been. . . Harsher to his little brother for saying such a thing. The boy (who quietly became a pre-teen once I got that mod) felt more like a threat than family while he didn't have a proper heir.
The two's conversation turned to light jokes to fit the holiday. They were mostly joking and gossiping about today's sermon - All Fools' Day is one of the best church days!
The guests all gathered around the table, abuzz with excitement. The royal family - those who attended, as Watkin was not up for a social gathering at this time, were all abuzz with what the news could be. Joan said that it was almost certain that Katerine gave birth since she wasn't going to be there.
"Well, my dear family and friends." Edward started to announce, unable to hide the ghost of a smile from his face. "It is with great joy that I bring you the news that my wife, your queen, has safely delivered me an heir!"
He held up a hand as the crowd started to react.
"And, I understand with what today is you might not believe me but I swear it is true, she also delivered me a daughter! A prince and a princess at the same time!"
There was a moment of pure silence. . . And then there were questions and cheers. Before the gaggle of nobles could swoop in, of course, the family got to give their reactions first.
"Praise the Watcher!" Edward's step-mother, Margaret, exclaimed. She was ecstatic, the fact that there was no heir weighed on her heavily.
Daemon, of course, had a more reasonable reaction and the proper worry for a father in this scenario. "Is my daughter doing well?"
Joan and Bartlet seemed to be holding their breaths. Of course, Edward would tell everyone that Katerine was healthy and strong, probably even if it wasn't true. . .
"She is doing just fine, father-in-law. Your daughter in the most incredible woman in the world."
In the Queen's Chambers, things were. . . different than the King could ever understand. Katerine was struggling. No food was settling in her stomach right, she couldn't stay asleep from the postpartum pain, she couldn't pee without wanting to scream, and the babies just kept fussing.
But all three made it through.
And that is what mattered.
