Drabbles for my Various Sam and Max AUs 01- Ghost Max AU
Hi there! I wanted to actually publish my writing for once, so I decided to write a whole bunch of drabbles of my various Sam and Max AUs! I’m gonna try to make at least one for every AU, so wish me luck! Here’s the first one!
P.S. If you wanna hear more about them, please ask! I wanna talk about them! Don’t be shy!
TW: Mentions of Death and Cursing
Drabble 01- Ghost Max AU
Max had never really seen himself as a ‘people’ person.
When he was a kid, the only ones who’d ever tolerated his presence were his parents and a handful of his siblings, and even then it sometimes felt like that was stretching it. That had been fine by him. Playing too roughly with others usually sent him to time out while playing by the rules bored him out of his mind. At the end of the day, it just seemed easier to keep to himself.
The lagomorph had even preferred it, regardless of that weird pang in his chest.
In all of his life, Max could honestly say that he had grown fond of his workmates. Would never openly admit it, but the signs had been there. Whenever the rabbit teased Sybil, poked fun at Superball, eventually turned into something akin to affectionate after a year of knowing them. Hell, the lagomorph remembered the days he’d spent trying to get them together, leaving notes and gifts as the other.
There was a small part of him that yearned to go back. If anything, they were the only things worth living for.
Being dead put a damper on all that, of course.
In the beginning it had been great! Being a ghost was amazing! No responsibilities (taxes who?), all the free time in the world to do whatever the lagomorph wanted. Sure, not being able to enjoy the luxuries of food was a bummer but flying was pretty neat! It was only when Max tried leaving when it hit him. Literally.
What appeared to be some kind of force field prevented him from leaving his little ramshackle apartment. That hadn’t bothered him at first. After all, learning what ghostly powers he held could keep the rabbit entertained for hours! Could being the key word. While fun to start, progress was slow then came to a stop completely when it became fruitless. Roaming the same halls grew boring. Floating lost its charm. The yellow of the walls started taunting him almost.
Going to Heaven would’ve been preferable to the pseudo-hell he was trapped in.
A tiny sliver of hope came when the corpse cleaners came a few days after his death. Hermit that Max was, someone must’ve finally called the police after the smell became too much to bear. They’d burst in, covered head to toe in white before getting right to work. Which was weird, but not unexpected. Someone was making sure that his death was but a blip to be forgotten.
That was okay. The lagomorph planned to have the last laugh.
Opportunity struck. Jumping in one of their paths, the rabbit had snapped at the man, laying out every insult in the book (that he’d written, by the way). Imagine the look on his face when the fucker simply walked through him, face set in stone as if he hadn’t heard a damn word.
Because he hadn’t, Max had realized, horror thrumming in his core.
Nobody could.
They left. A few more people entered. The lagomorph tried everything. Shouting, yelling, kicking their kneecaps, pushing a tumbler off the kitchen counter like in those old horror movies his ma told him not to watch. Nothing. No flinching or yelps of pain left their mouths. Only sounds of exertion and mumbling before they too were gone, leaving the rabbit in silence.
Quiet. It was too quiet. Noise kept Max busy, kept that small ball of darkness from spreading through his brain like poison. Silence, for some, was comforting.
For him it was deafening.
Forced to see the same things day in and day out, the rabbit soon discovered the pang was back in full force. When exactly had it disappeared? The thought, while elusive during the day, always crept back at night, when Max couldn’t sleep to keep it at bay. It grew, evolved into what-ifs and questions he had no answers for.
How had Sybil and Superball reacted to his death? They had to know it was murder, right? A little bump to the head was the last way he wanted to go out, right behind getting shot but ahead of choking on a gummy bear. Were they looking for the bastard that did him in? A tiny voice from who-knows-where told the lagomorph that the pair didn’t care enough.
Max tended to agree.
What of his family? Funnily enough, getting offed made the rabbit more appreciative of his family. They certainly weren’t the most loving or caring, but there were hints here and there. A kiss on the forehead, an older sibling giving him the slightly bigger half of a cookie, little Milly coming to climbing into his bed during a particularly bad thunderstorm. Despite not thinking about them for countless years, Max couldn’t stop the memories from playing over and over.
It didn’t take him long to learn that they kept him sane, let him forget the pain in his chest.
(Let him forget how lonely he was-)
It hurt to confess that he desperately craved contact. With humans, animals, anyone! Even a scrap would last him a lifetime at that point-
You could say Sam was Max’s saving grace, as pathetic as that sounded.
The day the dog moved in was perhaps the happiest moment of Max’s- well, not life, but whatever the ghost equivalent was. Non-life? Existence? Guy was noisy for sure. Talked through mundane tasks, whistled random tunes, turned up the tv to the point where the lagomorph was sure the neighbors could hear every gunshot from the noir films Sam was so fond of, all of it blended into a wonderful symphony of cacophony.
Max loved it. Even his terrible banjo playing. Found it endearing even, but he would take that lil’ tidbit to his grave… If he could find it, that is.
The rabbit had watched from afar. Not really a point to creep on the guy up close when the chance of seeing him was zero percent. He was used to stalking people from afar anyway (obviously), so it felt nice to fall into a rhythm.
Watch Sam wake up. Morning routine included bathroom necessities, of which Max had only peeked once (by accident!). Least he could do was give the poor dog some privacy. After that was breakfast. Usually a slice of toast or bowl of cereal (something sugary and tooth-rotting, so the rabbit knew he had good taste) along with the essential cup of coffee. It amused Max to no end that it was more a glorified cup of milk and sugar, yet it was-dare he think it- kinda cute actually.
From all his observations, Max could only assume the dog was a detective of some sort. His oak desk was covered with endless amounts of papers and folders, of which he would spend the entire day looking through until Sam came home to do the same. Almost felt like he was some kind of housewife waiting for her husband.
Almost like he actually meant something again.
If he’d met Sam when he was alive, what would’ve been different?
Everything. There was no doubt about it.
Sam was special.
Max just hadn’t known how much until that special night….
Maybe ‘people’ weren’t that bad after all.

MKP Series | Ladybug and Wolf
Chapter III: This isn't a Story.
Tumblr media
Oh Sehun was quite the interesting character for a teenager. Quiet, calculating the objectives laid before him and taking haste action. Perhaps his actions are a little too immediate for understanding, but his intelligent excuses makes up for irrational decisions. His thoughts aren't too immature, at least he thinks so himself, and new talents keeps appearing whenever he learns a new subject. He’s smart, naturally attractive (although he could improve his skin tone…) and carry silent charm that woos both students and teachers.
Yeah, he’s everything losers want to be. So what? Like he gives a shit. Girls love him, boys want to be his posers and teachers ready to place him in honors class. It’s the sweet life, right? Perhaps. He doesn't consider it as sweet, but it’s a hell lot better than dealing with this shit.
This was an incredible case of stupidity.
Yes, he admit that he made a terrible decision. It’s burning his ass every single day whenever snobs laughs at his failures. People assume he’s some quiet moron sulking through humiliation, hah! They don't know a genius when they see one…
“We meet again tomorrow at four. In the meantime, maintain the training and we’ll overview your new diet plan.” Diet plan. Cut this, remove that, reduce this amount and add more repulsive garbage to his digestive system. Four months in and Sehun is ready to succumb to his bubble tea cravings. It's horrible having sugar withdrawals and being restricted from eating bungeoppang, it’s living hell. Wanna know what else is horrible? Everyone treating him like some stranger.
He’s not a stranger.
Sehun left the studio with no one to accompany him. Oddly, this pang sat within his chest for days now. This feeling of deep loneliness, although it’s something he’ll never speak of publicly. Unfortunate to say, but he missed those ugly boys fawning over him, the girls constantly annoying him with cellphone requests. Sehun had to transfer to another school in order to reach distance between the dormitory and that cursed entertainment building.
Those bastards.
But it was him alone who signed the final line. Your fault. His mind whispers, and Sehun realized that he probably deserved it. He didn't know anyone, and it seems that nobody's interested in knowing him either. Maybe they all joined for one purpose, and that’s attaining SM’s official status as celebrity.
Sehun walked briskly into the midnight hour. He didn’t want to be bothered with anyone, let alone deal with the summer heat radiating against his skin. He knew signing the contract would lead to rigorous training and mental stability, but he vowed he could do it. He can do anything if he just believed, right? If only his current actions would reflect the hopeful notion that he’ll succeed. But it really doesn’t matter, anyway.
The teen stood at the stop light waiting for the electric sign to flash green. Sehun preoccupied himself by scrolling naver on mobile ((slow internet due to pissy coverage)) and played some hip hop music. The moment the light flashed green, Sehun pushed past the crowd. However, what Sehun didn’t realize he legitimately pushed someone, particularly an old man, onto the ground. Sehun froze in surprise, “I’m sorry sir. Are you okay?” He felt embarrassed and somewhat guilty to for not paying attention. Sehun bend his knees to help the old man, and then notice how short the elder was. The old man simply chuckled as he carefully grabbed his cane. “I’m quite fine,” he said, “Getting rather old for these late travels... Thank you young man for helping me. What’s your name, child?”
“Uh, Sehun. Oh Sehun.” It felt strange talking to an old man in the middle of the street. “Well then, Oh Sehun, would you like to attain a gift far superior than physical needs?”
Uh…
Sehun stared blankly at the old man. What the hell is this guy talking about? “Um, not really-“
“I understand your hurting deeply. Your depression outweighs your confidence, and sometimes it is hard concealing sorrowful emotions.” Sehun immediately lunged on defense. How dare this ignorant old goon tell him that he’s depressed! He is not depressed! In fact, he’s doing a hell lot better than normal! This ridiculous pruned nutbag. “Excuse me, but I need to leave-“
“If you had the opportunity to become a hero, would you accept?”
“Sure, yeah, whatever. I gotta go now. Bye.” Ugh, this man is giving him the creeps. Sehun raced across the street before the light turned red. He couldn't help but to shudder at the strange circumstance. What was that all about? Talk about weird. When he finally made it to the moderately fair dormitory, Sehun could feel his insides churn in distress. After abandoning his friends for his current lifestyle, he haven't met anyone rather interesting. No one bothers to talk to him, and his previous friends are too preoccupied with school clubs and other friends.
Okay, it hurts. It’s nobody's fault but his own. Sehun released a dreary sigh before punching in the codes to the entrance. Better take a shower and go to sleep…
He made it up the stairs and unlocked the door. It’s considered a small officetel to some, and thankfully he doesn’t have to deal with crooks stealing his stuff. Darkness swallowed Sehun whole, yet he felt emptier than ever before. He trekked through the living room and into the bathroom, took a hot shower, changed into his pajamas and returned to the tiny space for a kitchen. He then ate a small bowl of whole wheat cereal and slices of an apple. Oh, how he missed sugar cereal…
Sehun walked to his bed and prepared to sleep when he found a box resting idly against his pillow. Huh? He doesn't recall a box. The teenager snatched it, opened the box and found an intricate metal watch inside. Hm, looks very nice. He pulled the watch out the box and inspected it. Tiny white paw marks trailed the edges of watch. In the center there was a symbolic white wolf with the hand formed as a silver paw. Behind the wolf was a full moon, and Sehun found it rather unusual for a watch, but nonetheless liked the design.
Looks cool. Sehun slipped his wrist between the hooks and grinned. Wondered who would give him this? It fits his wrists perfectly…
There was a small click, and then a flash of bright light.
Sehun winced when the light began to fade. Like, what the heck just happened? The teen shook his head, and noticed something rather… Different. Different in what way? Well, there’s something floating in front of him.
. . .
… What the absolute fuc-
“Excuse me, but if you’re planning to swear, please reconsider it.” That thing said. Holy hell, did it just spoke? What the hell is this? Sehun immediately back away in horror. He blinked, and blinked again. Hell, he even rubbed his eyes to ensure he wasn't seeing things. However, that floating thing was still there! “What the hell are you?!” Fear drowned out his senses as he continued moving away from the thing. Hair stood above Sehun’s neck when the thing flew towards him.
“Don’t hurt me!" Sehun covered himself in case the thing decided to possess him.
Nothing.
Sehun peeked to find the thing directly facing him. By its expression it seemed unamused, and its arms folded in a rather irritable fashion. “Cut the hogwash. You are the new miraculous holder, and I’m your guardian. The name is Apollo, by the way.” H-huh? Sehun looked at the thing in confusion. Wait. Thing isn't the correct word, but rather wolf.
Is he, Oh Sehun, listening to a floating bobbleheaded wolf? “I must be crazy.” He whispered.
“Crazy? Hm, perhaps. But this situation is nowhere near insane. I am very much real, and your conscious is simply denying my presence, but don't worry, it’ll become accustomed very quickly.” “Apollo” said.
No, no, this not real… It can't be! “Oh child, don't you know it’ll only make the circumstances more difficult? Just accept things as they are.”
“I… But…- you’re not real!”
Apollo tilted its (his?) head, “Oh?” Its voice was deep for a tiny creature. “You are responding to me, so this only proves my statement. This is reality now, and your brain can easily process the situation if you only accept it.”
“What the hell are you?” Sehun sneered at the creature. Grey fur covered its entire body, leaving silver tufts by the edge of his jagged ears. Bright topaz for eyes, Apollo gazed at him, “I am a kwami. Specifically speaking, I am a seven thousand year old god inhibiting the body of a Eurasian canis lupis. Or wolf, if that would be simpler for you.”
“Why-“
“I’m assuming you're inquiring why I am here? Well, I honestly have no opinion. Fate destined us, and since I’m your new guardian I must teach you the ways of being an efficient miraculous holder. I am the god of protection, mobility and wisdom. I am the Alpha and the Omega, and I will guide you for where you need to be.”
Sehun grew confused, “What?” He didn’t understand any of this. A wolf god mention about destiny and guardian junk, none of it makes sense! “Miraculous holders are people inheriting a magical jewelry piece. We kwamis fuel the jewelry piece with our powers which gives the miraculous holders their own special abilities.” Abilities you say? A spark of interest captured Sehun. He didn’t understand the process whatsoever, but having special powers brought out the inner fantasy child within him. “So, if I accept you, then you’ll train me to become a skilled superhero?” Just imagine not only being a professional dancer, but an attractive badass superhero fighting crime with girls wetting their underwear every damn second.
… Omit the underwear part.
“Hm, exactly.”
“Okay, deal.” This is so… So freaking amazing. “So, uh, what now?” He already accepted this errm, kwami wolf, so it does it mean he already have magical powers? “If possible, may we properly discuss this over some tea?”
… Tea? “You drink tea?” Sehun asked in bewilderment.
“Oh yes, and I would gladly consume a bowl of tofu.” Tofu? When did a carnivorous mammal ever desire tea and tofu? “Okay… I don't have any tofu, but I do have tea. Is green tea fine?”
Apollo smiled, “Perfectly.”
And so, here Sehun sat at the table with a tiny wolf creature sipping away at some tea. “This watch is considered a miraculous, right?”
“Exactly. It represents the abilities of wolves, and might alter your own perception. You see, previous miraculous holders happened to release their inner “wolf” when paired with me. Not only does your physical appearance change, but your mental state as well.”
Sehun narrowed his eyes in suspicion. “What do you by mental state?” He doesn’t want to become a literal werewolf pissing and shitting all over people. Apollo held up a paw, “No need to worry, it’s nothing of what you would perceive. Your regular human senses would be heightened by the third cubed. I suggest when transforming to practice managing the senses before anything else, afterwards I'll train how to conduct yourself when fighting.”
“Do I defeat bad guys?”
“With this brewing evil I detect, you'll be battling more than akumas alone...” Apollo then lapped up some more green tea. Sehun had many questions to ask the kwami starting with these quote, “akumas”. What where they exactly? “To simplify your questions, an evil human decided to manipulate and abuse one of the kwamis. Keeping this in mind, the miraculous holder is abusing the butterfly kwami who can bestow any human being supernatural abilities. Since it’s manipulated into negative energy, these powered beings are titled akumas.” Akuma, huh? Sounds interesting to fight. “What powers do I get? Do I become awesome with badass weapons? Or like, I have psychic abilities and-“
“Relax yourself Sehun,”
Wait.
How do this wolf know his name? He doesn't recall giving out personal information. “Yes Sehun, when I awoke from my slumber I already knew my wielder’s name. It’s the first step to creating an intimate bond.”
… Oh.
Sehun slumped in the chair. Thousands of thoughts attacked his mind relentlessly, and it begged the question. Why him? What does he have to offer? Looks? “Why am I chosen? I mean, like, it’s not like I wanted to deliberately help people. I’m not exactly superhero material…” More likely anti-hero because it’s sound way more cooler. Apollo looked at Sehun with a sarcastic, “are you serious?” Look. “I honestly have no conclusion. But you’re selected to become a miraculous wielder. Regardless, would you like to try out your abilities for testing?”
“Hell yeah! " Sehun shouted, then he quickly resolved himself. “I mean, sure, I’ll try.” Guess he can miss a night of sleep for this. “You have to state my name, then the term, “howl shift,” and-“
“Apollo, howl shift!”
“Wait! I’m not finished-!“ Apollo couldn’t complete his sentence for he was sucked into the watch.

#80 [Kenny Omega]
Requested, #80: “Does he know about the baby?” - with the young bucks and Kenny omega? Like the reader is the young bucks sister who slept with Kenny?. (Prompt from here.)
Author note: This is straight up fluff and silliness. And ran long. Ohhh well.
@superkixbaybay @hiitsmecharlie @ihtscuddlesbeeetchx3 @valeonmars
Kenny Omega had come in to your life without preamble.
It felt like one second your brothers, The Young Bucks, were talking about “changes” in New Japan and Bullet Club, and the next you had a two-tone-haired man standing in front of you.
There were very few interactions between the two of you before you realized you had some attraction to him. At first, you’d just assumed it was physical, and had kept yourself from doing anything about it. But the more you were with him, the more you realized it was a lot more than just your body craving his.
Kenny was intelligent. Well-spoken. Funny. Genuine. Passionate. Caring. Trustworthy. Hardworking. Determined.
That last part was what really led to your current situation; you pressed against a shirtless Kenny in a heated kiss.
You had realized your attraction to him early on, and apparently he’d realized the same towards you. Except, unlike you, he wasn’t shy about it. Every time you were around him, he was flirty, forward, teasing. You tried to keep from reciprocating his actions, the thought of your brothers always at the front of your mind.
But Kenny didn’t give up, and eventually you gave in.
There was one catch: you demanded that you and Kenny not immediately reveal yourselves to your brothers.
Rendezvous in Japan were easy enough the times you were there with family and visiting. While most of Kenny’s time was spent with your brothers, he had enough of a separate life there that it wasn’t uncommon for them to be apart, allowing you time with just Kenny.
This was the first time Kenny had come to California since you’d begun your tryst. With your brother’s having families, you’d graciously offered to let Kenny stay with you. No one had blinked an eye at the idea.
And so now you were in your kitchen, hands everywhere that mouths weren’t. You’d intended to go for a run together, but had found a better use for your time.
It was the sound of the front door opening, and Nick’s voice shouting into your home, that caused you to shove off Kenny, and immediately put at least five feet between the two of you.
“What is he doing here?” you grumbled, looking at Kenny and then out the doorway towards the living room, Nick appearing there a moment later.
“Hey, what are you two doing?” he questioned, entering the kitchen and taking stock.
“About to go for a run,” you answered. “What are you doing here?”
“Picking up that stuff we left in your garage for dad’s birthday,” Nick clarified. “Matt’s coming; he’s just on the phone outside.”
“Gotcha,” you mumbled. Nick started a conversation with Kenny, and you tuned it out. You opted to grab your dog and take him out back, as a means to remove yourself from the situation and keep up the guise of normality.
Unfortunately, your plan was for naught.
As soon as you came back in the house, you knew something was…off.
“Nick knows we’ve been seeing each other,” Kenny reported with a tight, uncomfortable smile towards you.
You looked from Kenny to Nick, back to Kenny, trying to determine how this information had gotten out. You weren’t sure what to say. Nick was just staring at you, and you couldn’t at all read his expression for emotion.
As it tended to happen in uncomfortable and unfamiliar situations, your mouth worked faster than your brain.
“Does he know about the baby?”
You were pretty sure you’d never seen Nick’s eyes go so big or his mouth open as far as it did right then after you’d spoken.
“The WHAT?” he basically shrieked. “MATT! MATT, GET THE HELL IN HERE!”
“Dude, chill out,” you advised, quickly putting up your hands in defense, stepping towards him. “It was a joke!”
“WHAT.”
“What is going on?” Matt inquired, entering the kitchen finally.
You could only imagine how it looked to him; you standing in front of a shirtless Kenny, Nick staring at the two of you like you were inhuman beings.
“Our sister…she…Kenny…. Pregnant? But not… I don’t know,” Nick stammered out, his wide-eyed stare flying between everyone in the room.
“OK, wait, what?” Matt asked, narrowing his own eyes as he looked at you. “Explain.”
You sighed, knowing this was going to be an interesting conversation, to say the least.
“Look, Kenny and I…we kind of, got together? And it was probably stupid of us to try to hide it, but we did. So I…thought if I told Nick I was pregnant but I’m not, it would take some of the surprise off the truth because at least it’s not that, right?”
Both of your brothers just stared at you. Nick looked less shell-shocked but still uncertain. Matt looked annoyed at the entire situation, but somewhat amused. You had the wherewithal to at least look a little regretful about what had happened. Behind you, Kenny huffed out a chuckle.
“Not your best move,” he muttered.
“Shut up.”
“So you’re not pregnant?” Matt established.
“No.”
“But you’re sleeping with Kenny?”
“Repeatedly.”
“Ugh,” Nick groaned at your answer, putting his hands over his face.
“And you couldn’t just tell us this…why?” Matt inquired.
“Dude, as you’ve apparently missed it, the two of you aren’t exactly the calmest when it comes to me,” you pointed out. “You literally tried to murder Chuck Taylor once for smacking my ass, when we were both joking.”
“It was disrespectful.”
“He knows better.”
Your brothers spoke at the same time, causing you to roll your eyes, and gesture one hand as if to say ‘see, exactly, this’.
“I figured until we just had to tell you guys it wasn’t necessary,” you elaborated. “We’ve been having fun just sneaking around.”
“You have,” Kenny corrected. “I’ve been stressed out.”
“Can you, just, have my back, man? Damn!”
“I will go down with you for a lot of things, but not this,” he replied.
“Will you? Will you go down?” You raised your eyebrows, looking teasingly at Kenny over your shoulder, causing him to smirk.
“STOP!” Nick shouted. “For all that is good in the world, please, STOP TALKING.”
“What’s the matter Nicky? Can’t handle the truth? I have sex. And currently I’m doing it with your friend.”
“SHUT UP!” Nick shouted.
“Currently?” Kenny questioned.
“OK, OK, everyone, enough,” Matt interrupted, always the big brother. “This is just…this is too much right now. I think we all just need to walk away and regroup later tonight.”
“…regroup over what?” you inquired. “You’re both just gonna accept this whole thing and move on.”
“After I bleach my brain maybe,” Nick muttered.
“Oh, grow up!”
“STOP!” Matt demanded. “Look, Kenny, you’re my boy. Is this surprising? Hell yeah. But, honestly man, I couldn’t imagine a better dude with my sister. So let’s just…not make a big deal out of this and move on and…just, keep your hands to yourselves when we’re around please….”
“I might basically molest Ken in front of you,” you replied.
“I might like it,” Kenny stated, causing you to giggle and give him an exaggerated wink over your shoulder.
“…I’m beginning to understand how this whole coupling happened,” Matt decided, eyeing you and Kenny, looking somewhat entertained at your back and forth. Nick continued to just look put out over the entire situation.
“Just…yea, OK,” Nick finally mumbled. “I’m gonna get that stuff and leave now.”
“Good talk,” you said, rolling your eyes.
“What? I love you both. But this is a surprise. And it’s fine, but it’s gonna take a moment to get used to,” he explained. “So we’re gonna get that stuff, and I’m gonna go home, and pretend that the two of you are just here in separate rooms at all times.”
“You’re dumb,” you responded. Nick said nothing more, instead turning and pulling open the door that led from the kitchen in to the garage. He walked down the few stairs and disappeared out of sight. Matt looked at the two of you, shook his head with a laugh, and followed after.
“Well, that was fun,” you supposed, turning around to face Kenny again.
“Ya know, we really didn’t need to keep this from them.”
“Yes, we did,” you argued, stepping towards him again, sliding your arms around his waist. He reciprocated the action. “They’re wonderful brothers, don’t get me wrong. But if they knew at all three months ago what we started, that wouldn’t have been the reaction.”
“I think you’re wrong.”
“Well, what’s done is done,” you shrugged. “Seriously though, can we make them just hella uncomfortable at all times?”
“No.” Kenny didn’t even hesitate with his answer, causing you to pout.
“Booooo, you suck.”
“Actually sweetheart, that would be you.”
“Yea I do, and I do it well.”
“I CAN FUCKING HEAR YOU,” Nick’s voice carried in from the garage.
“JUST WAIT TIL YOU HEAR US FUCKING,” you shouted back over Kenny’s shoulder.
A moment later you watched as Nick stomped up the few stairs, glared at you, and then promptly pulled the door shut with force. You heard your garage door shutting a few seconds after that.
“So…guessing we’re alone again,” Kenny stated. “What to do now?”
“Ya know, we could go for that run,” you offered, gazing up towards him. “But there’s far better ways for us to exercise that I can think of.”
“Oh? Tell me your ideas,” he ordered, kissing your shortly, before gliding his lips across your cheek, and down to your neck.
“Well…”

=Chapter 2
Watching random shows was a wonderful ice-breaker activity for the two of them. All four of them, really; Dad and Summer sat by each other on the couch, and Ruby and Yang cuddled together on the loveseat under a cozy blanket. It made the most sense, and the elder two kept glancing over and smiling at them. In their book, they were a parenting success.
Meanwhile, Yang was in hell.
"This is the good part," Ruby whispered as she snuggled in closer, causing Yang to fight down an obvious grimace. Not because she felt bad… but because she felt too, too good. Smelled good. Of course it was probably mostly because she had only ever been on a handful of dates, and ones that never went very well… for one reason or another. She knew that, and tried to tell herself that so she would stop thinking about how their legs shouldn't be tangled up together.
"Really good," Yang managed to whisper. She knew she sounded off, and that the comment wasn't really about the show, but she made herself clear her throat and rest her chin on Ruby's head. It earned her a giggle, so it wasn't too bad. "You guys watch this a lot?"
"Nah," their dad said in his carefree voice, sandwiching his wife's hand between his own. "We've only seen it once before. Just thought you might get a kick out of it."
"There's soooo much to watch these days," Ruby echoed, wriggling against Yang's front. It seemed that because she was taller and elder, she was elected to be the "big spoon". It made sense, even if it made things more difficult for her in the time being. "Who has time for it all?"
By the end of the episode, Yang was biting the inside of her cheek to suppress a reaction. The minute the credits rolled, she forced herself to be casual about tapping Ruby on the shoulder.
"Pee break."
"Oh! You got it!" Sitting up, she held onto the back of the loveseat to let Yang extract herself. Every movement was like a dance, and every brush of skin against skin a tease. She had to collect herself.
When she reached the bathroom, she finally let herself take a breather. That was all she needed. Just to get out of there. She let her brain flood her with thoughts of the enticing young woman, soft curves pressing down into her, smelling like roses and sunshine…
But before her body could do more than respond very slightly, craving more of Ruby, she took a deep breath and released it as she told herself a few things.
"Sister," she said under her breath as she finished peeing. "That's a sister-butt and sister-boobs. A sister-face you're thinking about being so pretty. We have different moms, but both of us came from Dad's balls." That mental image helped a lot, because flinching at it curdled her stomach. "Okay. Okay, good; let's… get back out there. Go, team!"
Feeling stupid for having to do all that, she turned and stomped back to the living room.
The rest of their evening entertainment was only barely more tolerable. Ruby was still all too inviting, but this time, she was a little more prepared for how it would feel so she could ignore that with more success than the last time. Then before she knew it, Summer was yawning, and Yang decided to feign one of her own.
"Looks like you girls should be in bed," Taiyang said as he patted his wife's side. Then he stood, yawning himself. "And so should I. Don't fight over the bathroom, okay?"
"We won't!" Ruby promised him as they shuffled off, and she and Yang sat up. Once they were a little ways away, she whispered, "You can use it first. I'm usually up a little late, messing around online."
"You sure? It's… no big deal, seriously."
"Go ahead. I'll find something else to watch."
Now she felt guilty for leaving Ruby behind. Still, she did want to call an end to the slow torture that was being crammed into the loveseat with her. "Alrighty. But… we'll do more stuff tomorrow, right?"
That seemed to help, because Ruby's smile widened, became more genuine. "Yep! And I'm sure we can think of so much stuff! Like, I can take you around town, to the comic book store, or we can do the beach — or just hang out here, I have a ton of YouTube videos in my favourites if you wanted to flip through those. Some of them are hilarious!"
Relaxing, she folded her arms across her chest and smiled down at her sister. "Adorable." Then, realising she had said it out loud, she covered, "You just get so excited about stuff, it's cute."
"I do?" Shit, why did she have to slip up and call her cute?! Instantly, Ruby was looking a little flustered - the same way she would be if Ruby said something like that. Smiling awkwardly, biting her lip as she looked down at where her feet were tenting the blanket. "Y-yeah, I've been told I'm kinda super-nerdy. But if you think it's in a cute way, I guess it could be worse, right?"
"Totally." Still kicking herself for the slip, she cleared her throat. "But uh, yeah, anyway, I probably won't have to bail on you so early tomorrow night. Just… flying and all that, right? I'm jetlagged, my body's telling me it's four hours later."
"Nah, I get it. I'll see you in the morning!"
All the time she was getting ready for bed, Yang was pushing thoughts out of her mind. This one and that one, and all of them worse than the one before. After a while, they began to ease up, but she still felt like she couldn't relax or she would fall victim to her own imagination.
She did feel a lot better in her soft cotton shorts and crawling into the bed. However, she had forgotten a little detail: the bed smelled like Ruby.
For a little while, she couldn't make anything happen in the way of sleep. All she could do was roll around, drinking in the enticing aroma. True, it wasn't deeply ingrained from the very short stint the girl had spent in her sheets… but it was enough to fill her head with too many thoughts. Ones that she had no distraction from.
Everything about Ruby was warm and beautiful. The image her mind conjured was Ruby laying there, playing with her phone while Yang could slide her arms around her flawless body, slender and toned but still soft…
Rolling over, she faced the wall and tried to stop thinking, but her mind wanted to think about full hips and slender calves, an ample chest. Sweet lips that were so prone to giant smiles when she got excited. Yang found herself also wanting to find out more about her life, what she did with herself when she wasn't cracking down on entrance exams and all that. That was her one saving grace; at least she didn't think of her as nothing but an object.
'But you shouldn't think of her as an object at all! Get it together, Yang! Quit being such a weirdo about your step-half-sister before it gets any worse!'
Around and around her mind went. No amount of self-shaming could get her to stop thinking about the strange turn her first day in Los Angeles had taken. But at least she had the next morning to look forward to. Maybe that would be an improvement.
Probably not, but maybe.
If anything, the next day was worse. Not in the same ways, but the first thing in the morning did nothing to help.
When she woke up, Yang instantly knew that it would keep getting worse because she had been dreaming about Ruby. Nothing new or super detailed, but she usually didn't dream about people she had just met unless she was attracted to them. Lo and behold, Ruby crept into her subconscious.
Even worse, she sat up and looked down at her pelvis. Feeling the heat rising from that area. This was going to be a problem. Should she take care of it now? That would be terrible! Especially with what she was thinking about! But she didn't know if she could risk trying to slip out the door and down the hallway for a shower…
She was still debating that, staring between it and the clothes laid out on her suitcase, when there was a brief knock. She had been about to ask who it was-
When it burst open, revealing Ruby's smiling face. "Morning! Figured you wouldn't wanna sleep… too…"
Of course, her eyes would go straight down. Straight to the very obvious bulge in the front of Yang's shorts. How could they not with Yang's hand wrapped around it, as if trying to hold it in place so it didn't fly away?
"R-Ruby!" she began, laughing nervously. "U-ummm…"
"My fault!" she squeaked instantly, slapping a hand over her eyes. "I barely knocked, I'm so sorry, it's- there's no lock on this door, I sh-should have- anyway! Breakfast is almost r-ready, whenever you… yeah!"
Then she was gone in a flurry of movement.
As Yang dressed hastily in last night's clothes, to get to Ruby as fast as possible, she felt her pulse pick up. This couldn't be happening. She would go fix this, right away!
When she opened the door to chase Ruby down, hopefully to catch her before she got all the way to the kitchen, she found she was still standing just outside the door and leaning against the hallway wall, a hand pushed into her blushing face as her wide eyes stared from her wall to the one on the other side. In fact, she almost tripped from trying to cut off her own momentum. The minute she saw Yang there, she turned to her and looked more shocked.
"P-please don't be mad," she whispered fearfully, backing toward the stairs. "I- I'm sorry, it'll never happen agai-"
"I'm not mad!" she interrupted her. "I… I didn't mean for you to see…"
At that, Ruby looked away again, still red as her forelock. "Y-yeah, you looked… like you were in the middle of something? That's my fault, I didn't mean to interrupt!"
Gritting her teeth, she forced herself to go on. "No, I swear, it wasn't what it looked like! It was just… I was trying to figure out what to do until it went away. M-maybe I should have got up right then and started getting my shit together for a shower, then you might not have seen… um, seen that."
"Oh, so it's just, like… because it's the morning?" she asked, swallowing and glancing at Yang again. When she nodded, the shorter girl closed her eyes. "Okay. Just saying, you looked ready to go…"
"Ready to 'go' is right." When Ruby let out a squeak, she elaborated, "PEE! I have to go pee, sorry! That's… that's part of it, somehow, I guess? I don't really understand anatomy…"
Lowering her voice even more, she asked, "So that's what it looks like when your dick is full of pee?"
"N-no," she hedged, feeling her own cheeks get a little hotter at Ruby calling it by a specific name. "It's more like… having a full bladder presses on another thing… oh, nevermind, I don't know what I'm talking about, but having to pee in the morning makes it harder to get rid of… of that."
"Okay. But how can you pee if it's sticking straight up? Do you have to, like… jerk off first so you don't pee in your own face?"
Eyes wide, she just stared at Ruby until Ruby looked even more embarrassed somehow, especially given how embarrassed she was before. How could they be having this conversation?!
"It's not like that, exactly… and I can still kinda move it around and point it at the toilet, even when I'm… h-hard."
She cleared her throat, trying not to think about still being hard while having the conversation. This was the most awkward she'd felt since having to shower with the whole women's basketball team. Luckily, her school was very open and understanding, and liberal, so they ended up settling everything and letting her behave as any other young woman. She made sure to never shower when there was only one other girl in there so she wouldn't get accused of trying anything; it was like that old saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure". But a couple of times, she couldn't completely suppress a physical reaction and she got a few squeals or giggles from her teammates.
"And it can pee while it's hard? Sorry, I, um… I think I learned some of this in health class, but-"
"No, no, it's okay," she half-laughed. It was better that they were talking about simple things like this than acknowledging how weird it was to have a raging boner in front of your half-sibling. "And… it's not easy, but I can totally do it, don't worry."
Nodding, Ruby looked down between their bodies at the little tent in her pants. It would be less noticeable through the multiple layers, but if someone knew to look for it, impossible to miss. Yang was also trying not to look at the way Ruby's cheeks were glowing, or the two little points standing out against her pink tank top. That was just a byproduct of this weird situation; not that Ruby was…
Nope. Not going down that road.
"You should go downstairs," Yang finally said.
"What about you? It… I mean, is it really going to go away when you pee?"
"Probably. If not, I guess I'll jerk off, like you said." When a little yelp sounded deep in Ruby's throat, she bowed her head and whispered, "S-sorry, that was kind of gross, wasn't it?"
"No, it's no big deal, I just… this isn't stuff I know anything about, it's all kinda new! I mean… this is the first time I've seen one. W-well… a real one, actually hard in front of me."
At that, Yang swallowed, trying to pull the hem of her shirt down over it. No such luck, it just bounced around a little and her shirt stayed where it was. Ruby was mesmerised, not quite knowing what she was watching.
"You're not seeing one now; it's just in my pants. One day, you'll see the real thing live and in person, I'm sure, and it'll be a lot more interesting than me pitching a tent."
"Uh-huh." They were both quiet for a few seconds. "I… I'm supposed to go downstairs, right?"
"Yeah."
"Good. So… why can't I go?"
Licking her lips, she glanced toward the staircase. Any second now, one of Ruby's parents would call for her to see what was taking so long. "I'll go to the bathroom, then you'll go. Um, try not to blush this much when you leave?"
"Blush? Oh god, am I blushing?" Feeling her cheeks, she looked up into Yang's eyes with wide ones. "S-sorry, it's just… I've never seen one, like I said, and I know it's just my sister and it's just in your pants, but this is really…"
"I know!" Yang hissed. "And the longer you stare at it the harder it gets, so can you go?"
"Me looking at it's making you-" But she cut herself off, swallowing and holding up a hand. "Never mind! I'm really sorry!"
And then Ruby was skipping downstairs. Yang watched her go, so she was able to see her stop and take a few breaths, trying to calm down. They exchanged a glance, and she smiled apologetically… so Yang flashed her own sheepish grin. She didn't want Ruby to think she was really mad at her; frustrated was not the same thing as mad.
Once in the bathroom, the blonde gripped the sink and took a few deep breaths. WHY did Ruby have to come in right then?! Why did she have to keep looking at it? Now she couldn't make it go away for anything in the world! But at the same time, she really didn't want to jerk off while thinking about her own sister, either!
After peeing and there still being no change, she gave up and went back to get her clothes to take a shower. Under the running water, she was able to finally let some of the heat go… barely. The time and space did it more than the water; she was able to do her best to forget Ruby being so close, her nipples trying to tear their way through her shirt as she kept asking more and more questions about her morning wood…
And then she was hard again, and trying not to break down in tears.
Finally, she was clean and in a less "overcome" mood, and she could head down to join the rest of the family. All in all, she felt a lot better. She had been thinking of herself as a monster who didn't have any self-control, but obviously she did. Otherwise, she would have said or done something bad to Ruby, right? The girl was too curious for her own good, and felt too safe with Yang. That alone made her absolutely determined not to let this… whatever it was make things weirder than they already were. Much less for anything to happen.
But the minute she saw Ruby sitting at the table, leg jittering up and down in a nervous tick as she sawed her way through pancakes, she knew her determination might not be enough.
"Good morning," Summer told her in a gentle voice as she set a plate down in the empty seat. Her own short hair still looked great, even that early in the day. Their haircuts being so similar only further strengthened the similarities; her mother simply looked a little older and a little less Asian. "We were wondering if you'd be up anytime soon."
"I'm up, I'm up," Yang said, stretching her arms. She had been going to wear something cute and fun like a skirt, but in light of recent events, she put on some sweats with the word "PINK" down the leg. They could conceal a little more if it became necessary.
"Sorry about walking in on you changing," Ruby said with a sheepish grin. She saw what she did there; gave an excuse for her looking all flustered. "Still, you know I didn't see anything, right?"
Rolling her eyes, Yang played along. "Yeah, and I told you it's no big deal. Just wait after you knock until I say 'come in' next time, okay?"
"My shy little girl," her dad chuckled with a wide smile. That was one thing that she could say on behalf of her dad; he might have trouble connecting with her now, but he had been a lot more supportive of her transition than a lot of dads would be. So was her mother. At first, she had accused her of doing it for attention, but she never said it was "a sin" or "disgusting" or anything like that. Once they had talked it out, cried it out, she was behind her "new" daughter a hundred percent. In that regard, Yang knew she was very lucky.
"Kind of a matching set," Summer said, coming over to sit in his lap and kiss him on the cheek. Ruby's gagging noise went unnoticed by both of them. "You should have seen Ruby when she got to the table; red as a strawberry. It was so cute!"
"Y-yeah, cute," Yang echoed with a weak laugh, while Ruby was groaning and dropping and her head onto her arms.
"So, what are you two peas in a pod up to today?" Dad asked. "I'm off to work and your mom has her Etsy stuff to work on, so that's gonna leave you footloose and fancy free."
As Ruby sat up and they shared a look, Yang tried to imagine what they could be doing. Then she instantly stopped imagining and blurted, "Whatever Ruby wants."
That got her smiling wider, and Yang felt her heart flutter again. Damn, why was it that easy?!
"Well… let's do the mall, and then the beach? Should fill up a day pretty well. Oh, and on the way home we could get shave ice from this great spot I know!"
"Um, okay." That set off a new concern, one which only partially related to their weird morning. Bathing suits. She did have one that was meant to "pad" things, but it wouldn't really work if she got turned on in public. It was a slight help, not magical. Of course, she was typically really good at making that kind of reaction go away… but apparently, her step-sis made that more difficult.
Misreading Yang's uncertainty, she asked, "Not a fan of shave ice?"
"N-no, I am! It's, uh, it's great!" Then she glanced at the parents, glad to see Summer had finally moved back to her own chair, before saying, "I'm just… nervous about a city I don't know, and that you'll get bored. I'm not as much fun as I look." To illustrate her point, she held up some of her hair. Blondes didn't always have more fun.
"Don't worry about that," Ruby scoffed with an easier smile. "I'll take care of you; I've lived here practically my whole life, and I learned to drive in this traffic. I got your back, sis!"
Bashful again, she nodded and laughed, "Well, who could argue with that? I'm in."
"Glad to hear it," Summer laughed as she dug into her fresh fruit. "That way I can get a little of my work done, and your father won't have to worry about you two tearing up the house."
"Moooom, we're not five," Ruby groaned.
That got Dad to point at her and say, "Definitely not. So watch what you do out there; you're adults and you have to be responsible. Take care of my other baby - and you take care of her, too, Yang."
"Oh, I will," she promised. That was the only priority on her list now; to take care of Ruby instead of doing anything they would regret.
"Soooooo…"
As they drove down the road away from the house, Ruby tried to kick off the conversation. Yang appreciated the effort; she was awful at this. She wanted to apologise, and to yell at Ruby for making the situation worse, and to ask what she thought about that morning. She wanted to do a lot of things all at once, but was afraid of the answers too much to go through with it.
"So."
"Um… do you like music?"
Blinking, she looked back over to see Ruby's sunglasses pointed at her. "What kind of a question is that? Doesn't everybody?"
"I don't know," Ruby croaked, sinking back down into her seat.
'Good job, Yang,' she reprimanded herself silently. 'You're attacking her because you feel guilty. Woman up.' Then she cleared her throat and tried again.
"Sorry. I'm just… still really… this morning has been weird."
"Yeah. I mean… I don't know, I think it was funny? But also exciting, but also… you know what? 'Weird' was a good word, let's stick with it."
"It's been awhile since I've had anyone just stare at me like that. I didn't know what to do; it wasn't like you were doing anything bad, just… making me kinda feel self-conscious, which made it impossible to get it to… to…"
"To go away?" Shrugging, Ruby pulled up to a stop sign. "Well, the good news is you took care of that in the bathroom, right? So… maybe it won't happen again tomorrow morning. Or, um… I don't know, but I've heard that it's not as bad for a while if you take care of it?"
Nodding, Yang made sure she was looking out the window instead of at Ruby. "Yeah, sometimes. Except… I didn't take care of it."
"Huh?" A pause. "You didn't? But I thought-"
"I couldn't, okay? It just… it would have been too weird." She wanted to mention that the weird part would be the subject of her thoughts while doing it, but decided to leave that out. "So I just kinda… waited for it to die down, then until it disappeared. That's all that took me so long."
"Oh. Well, I guess if it worked… but I mean, if you have to, you have to." After a second, she chanced a giggle. "It was funny when you tried to cover it with your shirt and your shirt wasn't long enough."
A groan escaped her as she sank down further. "I feel so dumb right now…"
"Don't," Ruby laughed as she reached over to put her hand on Yang's forearm. "You didn't look dumb. Not at any point, okay? Just… awkward a little, and cute, and upset sometimes."
"Cute?"
Drawing her hand away, but probably just to turn the wheel, she went on, "Y-yeah. I mean, that blush was really pretty in your cheeks, Yang. I'm just sorry it had to happen because you were embarrassed about your boner."
"Can we stop talking about this?" Yang sighed wearily.
"Okay, okay. Music?"
Ruby reached for the radio, and Yang only nodded, so she turned it on to something fun and upbeat. Nothing suited her better. Resisting glancing over at her to enjoy how sweet and beautiful she was with the sun kissing her skin, even when she looked a little put out from the way their conversation had gone, Yang just gazed out the window and hoped the day would improve.
