winnie appreciation moment
I'm in love with this moment from s02e07.
It shattered me very much and I'm watching it over and over again. Slightly edited scene. Enjoy.
EDIT: reddit removed it (idk why), i didn't know, and i don't have the original file anymore apparently... so here's something i scraped out of the code 2 years later. sorry for the non hd quality. i still love it. in my lost little girl soul.

Have you ever think the reason why Cale is protective to children is not because..
Of his childhood but the state of the apocalypse done to children. Have u seen children, toddlers in any apocalypse movies? Or the problem being shown in the movie “quiet place” having a toddler and a baby with monsters sensitive in noise? There is a great chance that in apocalypse, children and toddlers are abandon, bought over yet killed in the way, or in the worse case scenario, cannibalism like what in the movies “snowpiercer, 2013” where they have no choice but to e.a.t the babies. Histories of where human is driven into cannibalism because of hunger.
Why Cale wishes the children, even the wolf children, and Lily stay as what children is. He just accepted the fact the children wants weapon as toys or Ron teaching the kittens, Sheritt to Lock, Choi Han to the wolf children so that the children knows self defense and take care of themselves in danger. Trying not to repeat the same thing of their pasts and his failure to what happened to the apocalypse, maybe another reason why he thinks of him as a trash.
Like the novel doesn’t mention any children except the teen siblings in the sealed god test In the earth 2.
After all, Cale had seen the cruelest and darkest side what can humanity do in the apocalypse.
Btw this just a theory of mine.

Trial AU: "TDRKvTDRK" / The people v Endeavour
Either for a post-war trial of the people v Endeavour or to determine if Rei is able to live unsupervised or if she's a fit guardian to Shouto. They would need to determine if there was abuse towards her and/or the kids in either case.
-Endeavour's argument during his testimony being "it was training", "in order to become nro1 hero/what he was meant(created) to be" and some people siding with him since "he's perfect to become a hero, it'd be a waste of talent otherwise, of his quirk, his fast judgement, his training, the kid should just keep going!"
-And Shouto's lawyer response being "so that means it's ok to raise all kids with strong quirks to be heroes? (some Hawks parallels)" "Train them as soon as we find out! Take them from their childhood and family and instead of a kindergarten send them to a hero factory!" "Because as long as they become perfect heroes it doesn't matter if they are kids." and they get close and holds Endeshit's eyes "Isn't that right, Endevour-san?"Reminds me of Snowpiercer "As long as it's beneficial to our society the sacrifices don't matter" kind of mentality.
-Imagine the media asking heroes what they think about the allegations. And Hawks smile suddenly turning serious and answering with hints about this being covered up for years without explicitly saying it.
And Endeshit's sidekicks being all "as long as Endeshit does the work perfectly it's not our business" Most heroes opting for a "no comment". Some reflect on their colleagues and how they view them until now. Others are aware this wasn't the first case and are sure won't be the last no matter the outcome. WWP coming out regretting not having being able to realise despite being in charge on people's safety "80% of our rescues are kids, be it from disasters, accidents or domestic calls involving villains". "Kids are strong, most time, the adults are the ones that need more reassurance from us, when kids see a hero they immediately feel rescued, safe, they follow our instructions as soon as they call down" "We heroes are supposed to inspire that feeling, our presence should evoque safety even before starting the actual rescue" "For a kid to not only see their father as danger, but a hero, the Nro1 Hero as a threat to that safety... is something that will not only destroy everything we have worked on as Pro Heroes but will came up every time we see a kid light up when we arrive in their rescue"
-Then Shouto's testimony; being asked about his routine, his training, diet, education, his relationships with his friends, with his mother and how he saw her, with his siblings. By his lawyer and then by Endeavour's lawyer. "How was your relationship with your siblings?"; "Non-existent" "What's the closest you remember being to them" "I saw them once" "they were playing with a ball on the yard, I was being dragged to training" "Touya-nii fell and Natsuo-nii was laughing at him, Fuyumi-nee and the housemaid were worried" "I asked Fa-Endevour to join them but he say no" "Did he say why?" "Objection hearsay!" "Denied" "Did Mr.Endevour say why?" Not looking up, in a soft voice he repeated mechanically "They are failures, don't get close to them" -Can you describe what happened that night?"
“Until recently I'd only remember her crying, her words at her breaking point" "...then I started remembering her words, her reassurance "It's ok to become who you want to become"
and then they get to the scar incident, which at this point everyone was speculating was Endeavour's training fault, another cover-up. And then the defendant lawyer starts "it was your own mother who hurt you wasn't it?" and Shouto is visibly mad "she is the one who burnt your face, am I wrong?" "and that's the only burn scar you have isn't it?" and Shouto glaring "that's the only scar with medical records, since an ambulance was called" and either then or on redirect Shouto's feed up and determinated "where's my scar?"
"She was talking on the phone about needing to leave, she was asking her mother for help, in the middle of the night, in desperate whispers, and then, as soon as she turned she saw red peeking from the door" "the terror on her face as she grabbed that boiling water while her her whole body was shaking its marred deeper into me than any scar" Shouto shifting his eyes from the lawyer to Endevour "And of that, he is responsible."
aaaand tw going nuts cause Shouto is saying an abused mother was so on the edge she saw red hair and blue eyes and reacted in fear, thinking her 6yo son was her abusive husband.  #wheresmyscar is trending Bakugo
Imagine if Endeshit trial happened when they grew up (which would happen if it was Shouto who wanted to press charges since he'd need to be over 20yo, to testify tho there's no age restrictions I think) Class 1-A are already pro heroes and Bkg goes in as a witness to "needlessly" prove the point that "Shouto is a victim". Cause the other lawyers would be like "Pro Hero Shouto, best grades, best results, best hero, where's the flaw? What was the consequence of this alleged "abuse"? being the best? My client was the best and trained the best hero, and it shows!" And then Bkg goes into detail on how being "classmates" with Sho allowed him to be the expert in identifying abuse victims he is today
"and also" Bkg ending his speech "Endeshit wasn't the best, All Might is, he just turned up to be the asshole who abused the kid who would end up being the best on his own, and he shouldn't get too comfortable just cause I spend a few months in USA, I'll be taking that title soon" and then when sho's on the stand he's asked about what he thought about Bkg's testimony "it's weird how he still doesn't notice we are friends even when he sees everything else" Shouto's lawyer
Imagine their protectiveness towards a child, a 15yo who had given up on justice but is willing to make this step regardless. They'd be so fucking honored to be in charge of this case but under so much pressure, not only cause it's The Trial of the current Nro1 hero that'd change all their society's views on Pro Heroes, but because of his client, this kid's trust in them is the biggest and heaviest responsability they've ever carried, and they will make sure to get them justice and hope.I need their first time meeting Shouto and their first impressions, the revelation of how big this case is, Aizawa being the one briefing them before being introduced to Shouto.
Endeshit
Endeavor would be combative and deny everything; corruption, propaganda, Endeavor’s side trying to depict Shouto as an exaggerating rebellious teen, a liar, using the Sport Festival as an example "he just wanted to make his father mad! a victim wouldn't take that risk!" totally not taking into account that Shouto wouldn't consider making Endeavour mad a risk but just part of his daily life, especially since there's no one else who would get hurt as collateral damage, and he's used to being hurt.
All Might testifying, recounting his meeting with Endeshit at the Sports Festival and his regret on not seeing it sooner, his failure. -I need corruption, old and new cover-ups attempts, hero&villains propaganda, paparazzi following Shouto and his siblings, reporters surrounding Rei's hospital freaking Shouto out when they try to barge into her room and making him question if all this was worth it.
-I need jury reactions, a judge that controls both sides and is polite, Shouto's lawyer feeling this case close, Endeavour's lawyers being at the top of the chain and having a reputation.
-I need the public response, on the news, on twitter/blogs, paparazzi.
And the news portraying Shouto "not being social" "unfriendly and giving off an arrogant vibe" "expressionless and impossible to read".   Mainstream media covering it while being biased, hyperfocusing on the heroes v villains implications. While tw/blogs/yt being like "how tf are they so blind" while analysing Shouto's and Endeavour's answers and behaviours.
-I need doctors' and/or nurses' recits and secret notes.
And the maid who used to take care of the Todoroki children, and had stopped making their meals because of a back injury, being a surprise witness.

Quick! What are 5 of your favorite comic book movies that are *NOT* MCU or DCEU! Because I'm tired of both.
Only 5?..🙄 Um, okay, so...
Snowpiercer (2013)
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010) - I mean come on, it's Edgar Wright ❤️ and I love Brian Lee O'Malley's comics! I heard there's gonna be a movie based on his other graphic novel, Seconds, and I hope it's not just rumors because my first thought after reading was - it would make a really good movie 😄😄😄
The Old Guard (2020) - maybe not the greatest film in terms of plot, but the characters are so good! ❤️
V for Vendetta (2005)
Priest (2011) - I just love its aesthetic, sort of steampunk futuristic western vibes
Honorable mentions:
Sin City (2005) and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014)
Watchmen (2009)
Atomic Blonde (2017)
I Kill Giants (2017)
A bunch of movies and cartoons based on Astérix comics - my childhood favorite 😄

What other actors do you like @thetrashstache? Why do you like Chris so much and what was the first film you saw of his? Mine was Snowpiercer, but I've never seen Captain America nor want to.
For years I was a big supernatural fan, so I love J², well I like so many things about him that can choose one, but maybe the fact that he is really close to his family and keep the same friends from his childhood.
The first movie I saw was probably The nanny diaries, but I only became a fan in 2020, I lost my job in the pandemic and I watched all the marvel movies, than I decided to watch all his movies, I love Snowpiercer, I think is his best perfomance.

Favorite book?
This is a really rough question to answer - I can only narrow down to the top 3 I’m afraid!
1. Rebecca, Daphne Du Maurier - I love all Victorian gothic/Neo-Victorian gothic lit if I’m honest but for some reason this one sticks with me more than others (I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read it and I think I’m up to owning 4 editions now 🥲). It’s one of those books where I mostly dislike all of the characters and yet they’re all brilliant? It was also super funny to me that this is the book Mr Wilford chose for book club on Snowpiercer because if you know the plot of Rebecca it kind of reflects how he sees his relationship with Audrey (ie he knows he’s a bad person but hopes Audrey will keep choosing him anyway - kind of like Maxim De Winter and his new wife)… what’s extra funny though is that I knew the plot to Rebecca and still thought Audrey was playing the long con with him until season 3 aired 😂
2. Never Let Me Go, Kazuo Ishiguro - another favourite genre for me is dystopian literature and this is my favourite dystopian novel. The story is so sad but also really beautiful and it hits me hard in my romantic heart that even in an alternative world the one hope for the main characters is their love for each other. I also partially wrote my undergrad dissertation on this book!
3. Ballet Shoes, Noel Streatfeild - this is a children’s book, don’t judge! 😂 this is my absolute favourite book from my childhood and one that I’ve re read as an adult more times than I should probably admit to. Growing up, I was really into ballet and performing so it really spoke to me, and the character Posy spoke to me especially (she was the sister that loved ballet and my fellow redhead). I’m not sure it was hugely popular when I was growing up as mostly people were reading Jacqueline Wilson or Michael Morpurgo, so if you missed this one I’d definitely recommend it as a nice feel good read.
I didn’t want to go into plot too much in case you or anyone who sees this doesn’t want spoilers BUT always happy to discuss books in more detail if you have read them! 😇
Thank you for the ask!! 🖤

'Despite receiving no Oscar nominations this season, All of Us Strangers was unquestionably one of the year’s greatest films.
The film has gained praise from both viewers and critics since its premiere, and fans in the United States will be able to stream it on Hulu beginning February 22, with a digital release following on the same day.
However, fans in the UK will have to wait a little longer since Disney+ has yet to clarify when the film will be accessible via stream.
All of Us Strangers | Official Trailer
Paul Mescal & Andrew Scott have only eyes for each other in the latest ‘All of Us Strangers’ trailer.
The All of Us Strangers trailer shows the story of two young men from London whose paths cross fatefully and lead to a deep, sensual relationship. ‘ The Title film stars Claire Foy and Jamie Bell as Adam’s deceased parents.
The trailer shows Adam visiting his childhood home after several decades only to find his parents, who died in an accident years ago, still present, confusing both Adam and viewers.
The film will be filled with beautifully executed shots and vivid colors as the couple falls deeper in love throughout the story. Adam also reconnects with his parents, forming an unexpected relationship.
All of Us Strangers is an early draft of the award-winning novel Strangers, released in 1987. Taichi Yamada’s Japanese novel was translated into English in 2003.
The Cast and Crew of the All of Us Strangers.
While only a few actors are listed for All of Us Strangers, this shift will undoubtedly benefit those who appear in the film since their talents will all be highlighted.
The plot revolves around Adam, played by award-winning actor Andrew Scott, whose resume includes several significant dramas such as the Bond film Spectre, Victor Frankenstein, Denial, and 1917.
Adam’s odd admirer, Harry, is played by Paul Mescal, best known for his part as Connell in the Hulu exclusive series Normal People and his Oscar-nominated performance in Aftersun.
Mescal was recently seen in the sci-fi drama Foe with Saoirse Ronan. Mescal is next expected to play a significant role in Ridley Scott’s highly awaited sequel, Gladiator 2.
Claire Foy & Jamie Bell play Adam’s parents, who are not dead. Foy is best recognized for her breathtaking performance as Queen Elizabeth II in The Crown and most recently appeared in Sarah Polley’s Oscar-winning movie Women Talking.
Bell is another actor with a significant résumé, appearing in films such as King Kong, Rocketman, Snowpiercer, & Billy Elliot.'

Ne me ramène pas/Don't bring me back
That’s it, I finally have everything I wanted
A reason for my eyebags and stages to let off stream
I even accepted there’s no stop anymore, like in Snowpiercer
And there’s no remedy to feeling lonely
The human body is truly not invincible
The metronome speeds up, I barely had the time to celebrate it
It’s already the end of my 26 [birthday]
Who’s gonna make our pain better ?
I saw fear appear inside normal people’s eyes
I’d never be understood, I understood that when I was still a kid
Except now I use my broken brain
To become the most powerful artist of France, okay
Each new concert I go a little bit more in trance
One day I’ll remain stuck
That day, don’t bring me back
I found my place
One foot in the flames
Another in the ice
I found my place
Don’t bring me back
Becoming the richer son of a bitch of the machine
Make assembly-line successes
We’ve dreamed of that since our childhood
The ocean is too vast to be a well-behaved1 swimmer
The world may be more beautiful without me, how do you want me to know that ?
In my head it’s chaos, come visit to see
My grandmother was crazy and she passed down her power to me
When I use it I start to drift away
I’m terrified but I love it
Don’t bring me back
I found my place
Don’t bring me back
Don’t bring me back

Countdown to Valentine's Day with Snowpiercer & a Little Broadway
(a.k.a. My favorite Snowpiercer couples and the Broadway love songs I associate with them because it's February ❤)
Entry 9) Osweiller x LJ, "Something Good" from The Sound of Music
LJ: Perhaps I had a wicked childhood.
Osweiller: Perhaps I had a miserable youth.
LJ: But somewhere in my wicked, miserable past, there must have been a moment of truth. For here you are, standing there, loving me. Whether or not you should. So somewhere in my youth, or childhood. I must have done something good.
Osweiller: Nothing comes from nothing. Nothing ever could. So somewhere in my youth-
LJ: Or childhood.
Osweiller: I must have done something good. For here you are standing there, loving me. Whether or not you should.
LJ: So somewhere in my youth-
Osweiller: Or childhood.
LJ & Osweiller: I must have done something good.

Her Own Creation
Another repost of an old Snowpiercer fic I deleted. Some Alex introspection I wrote between Seasons 1 and 2, so if you check it out please keep that timeline in mind.
Very slight blink and you'll miss it reference to implied, but only if the reader chooses to interpret it that way, sexual harassment vibes.
As a child, Alex wandered through Snowpiercer's microcosm anchored by her mother's hand around her own. She had thought of everything: an ocean about to teem with life, a dance studio crafted specifically for her, and a home up front among the meters and controls.
Engineering was something Alex knew more about than most eight year-olds, and with everything her mom accomplished with formulas and bolts, it was hard not to be entranced. But sometimes it felt like, no matter how hard she studied, the train would always take first place.
She'd been right, as it turned out. She and her grandparents stood at the snow-covered tracks, lost. The train had been finished, its ocean thriving with fish, but her small hands empty of her mother's grasp.
They'd been lucky Mr. Wilford, a second shock to see, guided them to Big Alice; and twisted the knife deeper with his revelations: Melanie Cavill was not the woman any of them thought her to be. Her loyalty to Mr. Wilford's cause was a lie, and if that was a lie, well… what else was? It was easy to doubt her departure had been a grave mistake before Wilford confirmed otherwise. But now… it was obvious her mother had never intended to take her along.
By the time Mr. Wilford brought Alex onto Big Alice, she realized she had misjudged it as a child. Dreary, hollow halls stuck out in her memory, but it became her savior in the eternal winter. She eventually learned to treasure every clang that rang from its engine. She became attuned to every flaw she'd fix. Big Alice wasn't perfect, but it was hers. At least her mother had given her that; one gift of survival in the storm.
Now, standing on Snowpiercer for the first time in 7 years approaching the same city it abandoned her in, that familiar misjudgment rang true. She had misjudged her mother. She had misjudged Big Alice. It was only fitting Snowpiercer, her mother's beating heart, would be next.
Despite the wonders a child's lens adored, Snowpiercer felt as empty as the tracks did that day. Its colorful halls were reminiscent of those fuzzy, dark memories of Big Alice before she familiarized herself with its truths. Snowpiercer's world was what her mother had sacrificed her for, and it seemed far less marvelous with hindsight replacing forced passion. The blood spatters graffitiing the walls told her even its own residents felt the same.
Her gloved hands curled around the bar in the dance studio, igniting a brief nostalgia she immediately blew out. Big Alice, despite its name, didn't have much space. This meant Alex hadn't truly danced since before its departure. Her bones had grown too heavy, muscles too stiff, for a false dream.
Alex hadn't had a bad childhood. No not with a mother in the profession she'd had, not with a mother who, even if she missed out on dance recitals, had provided more than the basics. But Big Alice was another world. Alex had suffered in ways she hadn't known possible, even with the earth on its last legs in the years prior. Her innocence died the moment she took Wilford's hand, his grip tight as he pulled her up onto that train. That grip had become gentler, more familiar over the years; maybe too familiar.
What mattered was that Big Alice was her home. She couldn't find the same solace in a glorified luxury vessel knowing her mother had abandoned her for its comforts. She certainly wouldn't be able to find such solace in her mother's embrace, no matter how much she had foolishly missed it in the early days of their separation.
But maybe, after Snowpiercer's merge with Big Alice, her mother's treasure could become something new. It was her train now, after all. And she would care for it as she had for Big Alice, spoon-feed it all the love her mother was too absent to receive.
Her mother's presence would change nothing. After such desperate times, Alex could now understand the lengths a creator would go to for their invention; it overpowered the mother-child bond, replaced it, even.
Alex had become the same with Big Alice. Hating her mother would not change that fact. Hating her mother would change nothing. It would not give her the life she should have had. It would only cloud her judgement in a situation that demanded clear focus. Melanie was to be Wilford's prisoner; nothing more.
She pulled her fingers back from the ballet bar. Efficient prioritization was another thing she could thank her mother for teaching her all those revolutions ago.

you caused this.
you fed children stories about overthrowing corrupt governments and expected us to not notice the signs??
millennials and generation z grew up on star wars, hunger games, divergent, the maze runner, avatar, mad max, narnia, lord of the rings, snowpiercer, superheroes, and countless other stories.
we devoured our heroes taking on corrupt leaders like president snow and darth vader since we were babies.
and you get mad at us for revolting, for protesting?
this was our childhood! we read about young people starting revolutions.
katniss everdeen was a teenager. luke skywalker was barely an adult. tris prior was sixteen. harry potter was twelve when his journey started. aang and his group of friends? the oldest was sixteen.
we are becoming what you’ve given us. if you are afraid of our revolution: be ready.

Catching up on some shows since what else are you going to do when you are home sick.
Rn I’m finishing the latest episode of Snowpiercer. Caution, spoilers for S3E4.
I desperately need Javi & Ben h/c
Layton is a good character, but god, he is unlikeable, isn’t he? He went off on a wild goose chase and Zarah was left behind, pregnant with the child of the man the ruthless tyrant in charge wanted to suffer. No one else on that train was as vulnerable and at-risk as her. She had no choice but to play along as much as she could to protect both herself and her child. She consented? She was in no position to not consent! And Layton has the gall to call her calculated and selfish for that? “She was untouched and you stamped her with Wilford!” That’s not even concern for his unborn daughter, it’s pure pride, and the same disgusting language that has always been used by men who call the girls and women they consider their possession tainted once someone else has touched them.
Also, sorry, but what happened to Miles? Are we just not talking about him anymore because Zarah is pregnant with Layton’s “real” child now? Or did I miss a throwaway mention of how he’s one of the characters casually revealed in a throw-away sentence to have died off-screen, and none of them can even bother to stop and mourn the poor boy?
That lie with Asha. Just. What even. Has no one tried to have a conversation with the woman beyond that one short, awkward Q&A, because that story has as much structural integrity as a house of cards - it’ll fall apart the moment someone so much as breathes on it. Why did she leave her paradise home? How was the place/the flora affected by the cooling, bc even if it’s not frozen over, the plants that were there previously would not have survived the colder temperatures? How many people are there, how are they organized? Why is she so obviously suffering from PTSD if everything is great in New Eden? Also, once they get there and it is clearly not a magical place called New Eden populated by happy survivors, why should the people of Snowpiercer not call for the heads of the leaders who claimed democracy but lied to them?
The bit where Wilford realised Alex was out there facing the corpse of her childhood friend and had the worried, protective reaction of a decent person and parental figure? I really hope that wasn’t the beginning of the show trying to redeem him and make him more likeable. We’ve had to watch so many characters be horrible and antagonistic only for them to then become good guys, and I’m tired of adjusting. I know people are complex, the characters here especially are for the most part very morally ambiguous, and Snowpiercer is in an extreme, complicated situation where it’s all but impossible to do the right thing without also doing at leats a bit of wrong by some, but I’m going to get emotional whiplash if I have to keep changing whom I’m rooting for. Please, let me keep a bit of black and white here, at least with regards to Wilford.
Someone please give Bess some love, appreciation, and stability. She is trying to hard and she just wants two things, to belong and for people to be okay.
Did I mention I need Javi & Ben h/c?
