My Top Seven Anime I Watched in 2022

Here are the best of the best, alongside a few bonus good, good anime. Please note that I’m only including premieres I actually watched in 2022, and there are a few ones I haven’t gotten to yet. I only started watching Bocchi the Rock! this month (and I’m enjoying it) and I’ve heard good things about Raven of the Inner Palace, so I’m planning on checking that out.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury

Suletta Mercury arrives at her new school with a mech named Aerial and a checklist of friendship milestones she wants to achieve after being homeschooled for years- only to immediately get involved in giant robot duels and engaged to a prickly heiress. Unbeknownst to Suletta, she’s a tool in her mother’s revenge scheme against the terrible corporation that destroyed their family, and things will only get more complicated. Sometimes a fun romp, sometimes an action-filled thriller, and saving its best twist for the very end, this might just be the anime of the year for me. The romance between the two girls at the heart of the series always has you rooting for it, it introduces you to some great kids (and a ton of cool ladies) and as a bonus, it’s wonderfully inclusive. The only think holding me back is the fact it’s not over yet! I’m praying the second season keeps up the good work.

Spy x Family

The smash hit about a spy dad, assassin mom, and telepath child who all form a ‘fake’ family- but will they develop real familial feelings? Cute, funny, nicely animated and full of wacky fights and missions, it needs no introduction. It’s just a good time! The second season isn’t quite as strong as the first, but it’s fun to watch throughout and there’s more good material coming!

Akiba Maid War

A fun genre mashup that depicts early 2000’s maid cafes engaged in violent battles over territory (similar to yakuza movies). Features a lot of outrageous comedy and the world’s most loveable terrifying murder maid in Ranko. One of my favorites of the year.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 3

The romantic comedy offers some slick animation and bombastic humor as always, while featuring some truly satisfying relationship development.

Mob Psycho 100 Season 3

The final season of one of the best anime of the last decade, it offers a perfect resolution to the offbeat relationship of young psychic Mob and his con-man mentor Reigen, while making a strong final statement on the series’ themes of power, identity, self-acceptance and deception.

The Executioner and Her Way of Life

In Menou’s world, kids dropping in from Japan and gaining incredible superpowers is a common occurrence. This rarely ends well, so it’s Menou’s job to murder these teens before they can become threats. But her latest target, Akari, has powers that make her unkillable- and she has feelings for Menou! What’s an assassin to do? A darker take on the isekai formula, the show is uneven in parts, but it’s a fun ride and most importantly, full of flawed, murderous women getting in cool fights and having romantic attention for each other. I gotta love it. The world has a ton of potential, so I hope this yuri action romp will get a follow up someday.

Birdie Wing: Golf Girls’ Story

A tough teenager is embroiled in an illegal golf ring run by the mafia- you heard me- and while navigating ridiculous obstacles and dirty tactics, she becomes smitten with a rival Japanese golfer named Aoi and wants nothing more than to see her again…

I debated on whether to include this because the second season is really going to dictate how I feel about it, but it made a hell of an impression, so I had to. After all, in the first episode alone, Eve hits a golf ball through a moving train while up against someone in a clown mask. A gloriously stupid and ludicrous take on golf that only anime could do, Birdie Wing makes the most of its low budget to give a unforgettable experience. Just please don’t do a “Eve and Aoi are secretly sisters” twist in Season 2.

Bonus anime I really enjoyed:

Aharen-san wa Hakaranai (Aharen is Impossible to Understand) is a very adorable, funny anime about two ridiculous kids finding each other and has a nice trans-positive treatment of one character,

Shikimori’s not Just a Cutie (review here) is a cute anime about a soft-hearted boy and a very cool girl who date,

Ya Boy Kongming! is an anime about famous military strategist from the Three Kingdoms era suddenly finding himself in modern Japan. He comes across a talented but unknown singer and decided to put his gift for strategy to use in managing her singing career and helping her to the top. This is just plain fun, and has a really sweet (and shippable) female friendship at it’s core by the end.

And finally, Sasaki and Miyano (review here) is a slow paced but sweet romance between two boys.

Transformers More Than Meets The Eye Retrospective: Issue 5 "How Ratchet Togt His Hands Back" (Comissioned by Brotoman.Exe)

Hello all you happy autobots! We're kicking off 2022 with some energon for ya'll. See last month Brotoman unexpectly comissoined some EXTRA transformers. As a result your not only getting the conclusion of the Delphi arc early, but remember how I said I wasn't sure when i'd cover last stand of the wreckers?

Yeah turns out that day is this week as after my best animated episodes of 2022 (which sadly won't include earth spark as I didn't get to it in time), you can tuck in for a review of the whole damn mini series. It's not necessary entirley to follow these reviews but it does give Fort Max and Overlord's full backstories, so it does make the experince better. It's the same reason i'll be covering Chaos Theory eventually.

At any rate we still have a story in progress to finish so settle in for a cold winter's story arc as we find out just whose behind the plauge of delphi and what our heroes will do about it?

We open with Fort Max delivering on his boast from last issue.. but instead of a triumphant heroic save.. it's a brutal slaughter as he TEARS one of them in half and as the other is fleeing for his life as you would after seeing that, grabs him and somehow smashes the con into Max himself.

FIrst time I think i've used that for mental wellness… and Ratchet agrees. I like this a lot as it not only shows the two have a history.. but that Ratchet, as hard to phase as he is, has a limit. Max needs help, not to be back in the universe with a gun to his head. And as we'll see sometimes even seeking help.. won't work if the preson dosen't take to it.

But enough ominous foreshadowing it's time for a rousing round of everyone pointing guns at each other. When Ambulon tries to you know, take the pieces of dead decepticon off fort max, Pharma pulls a gun and plans to shoot him, citing him as a traitor and a former decepticon. Ambulon admits the latter, but poitns out that was 10 years later.

This lasts all of three panels, which had to be about a minute of accusations.. before First Aid untangles his entire scheme. It works well for me as it's clear Pharma likelyt hought little of our hero, and thus starts to loose.. because he's just that good a doctor: he finds the t-cogs Pharma claimed were absent in the decepticons, then points out his story of being attacked dosen't add up as their all laser scapel wounds… from PHARMA'S own scapel. While ratchet finishes the summation, First Aid still gets points for starting to unravel things.

He simply asks that Pharma show his alt mode.. and when he dosen't explains he figured out the virus: the doctors haven't entered the fatal stage not because of high resitsance.. but because they havne't transformed. Ambulon has the embarassing one of a leg as a former combiner, and First Aid, as Ratchet's own key surgeon's eye notes, can't. What I like is while some of the reasons WHY are things the reader only works out, there were still plenty of clues the reader could suss out like none of the doctors transforming while pipes and drift did, as well as the suspcious timing of Pharma being in a box and away from everything, as well as happening to be injured. IT's still a lot , but it dosne't treat the reader as stupid by leaving no clues to the mystery, just enough to solve and go "aha" if you didn't from the trail of breadcrumbs, but not enough that it's painfully obvious.

Pharma applauds them for their work.. but then shoots the life support. First Aid continues to make his badassery known, and make himsel fa faviorite of mine on this re-read, by quickly scrambling everyone into position, with Ratchet sacrificing himself by transforming so he can use the spark jump more effectively in car form.

We get some cutaway bits to Tailgate studying to be an autobot under Ultra Magnus, which is as hilaroius as it sounds. Almost fun , though danged if Magnus can say it. Yes he's literally so tight assed he can't say the word fun and I love everything about that. It's great stuff and helps break up the tension for a moment, there's just not a lot to comment on either so on we go.

We also get a bit between that's more plot relevant: Red Alert, the paranoid head of security, is having a session with Rung. Red Alert is hearing a voice only he can here.. which isn't automatically exactly what it sounds like as he points out his audio receptors are the best on the ship: he can hear what everyone's up to right now: Rewind begging Chromedome to help him find some data discs, Whirl aruging with himself. Usual lost light stuff, the former being yet another piece of foreshadowing for later I hadn't picked up on before.

ApparentlY Red Alert was worried about it being an auditory hallucination, somenthing Rung's warned him about in the past and Red Alert recorded it… though the problem is the crack , where the spark eater was quatum jumped into the engine, supposedly leads to nothing. Naturally though this isn't a delusion or hallucination… Rung recongizes the sound as a scream and when slowed down… it says "KILL ME KILL ME KILL ME"

We'll get back to that hook at a later date, as we're back with Ratchet who's.. not doing so hot

Pharma naturally needs to monologue about his evil plan though; As it turns out Delphi only made it this long because Pharma cut a deal with the Decepticon Justice Devision: Since hteir leader is hooked on transforming and thus wears out his cogs rapidly, and has no intention of kicking the habit, he offered Pharma saftey in exchange for a steady suply. Pharma at first just used paitents they lost.. a grim horrible thing to do.. but also understandable given we've seen what the DJD do to their own former comrades and haven't even begun to plum the depths of how terrifying they are. With likely no easy way to call backup without buying himself some time and no other option, I can see how giving what's esentially an organ donation to keep everyone alive, and only on patients you hadn't actively tried to loose but generally coudlnt' help, was the only option.

The issue, and what makes Pharma the monster he is.. is that he KEPT GOING. He had time to call for help, to do SOMETHING about this despite the ods.. but rather than risk himself he started killing patients instead, both ones who were apparently on the edge of far gone..a nd then one swho "held on". It's again one thing to do what you have to to sav elives.. but Pharma implicitly admits that he coudln't face high command without admitting what he'd done, thus cooked up this scheme, killing thousands more with the help of the two cons, Sonic and Boom

Using their ablities he had them engeneer an audio virus that upon transformatoin caused the various fluids in a transformer to mingle and cause the subject ot shut down.

On reread Pharma is a thourughly facsenating villian… he has all of Ratchet's skill and prowess.. but none of his morals. Ratchet may be tired and grumpy, but he holds himself to a high standard, fights to uphold it. He won't hestitate to fight dirty as we're about to see, but he also is eaisly one of the most moral members of the crew. Pharma.. gave up his the second it was easy and blames everything else instead of the common factor: himself. he could've tried to get help or owned up to his crimes to get an evac earlier.. but valued his career on delphi and not being jailed for his crimes more than other peoples lives.

That very long explination later… Ratchet thanks Pharma for babbling on as he can now fight back

God I love Ratchet. All Ratchet's everywhere.. but this one in paticular. Pharma looses it at this and a fight insues, though turns out Ratchet is far less immobile than he seems… though he still fails to shoot Pharma.. not because of some heroic code, his fingers just aren't working. God I love that gag.. and that it's a nice character bit. It shows Ratchet won't go easy.. just because he's the good guy. He's a dedicated physician, capable of mercy and will help and part of why he's so morose about his hands stopping is he can't help people. He's simply not showing it here because his opponent is an unrepentant mass murderer whose only slightly better than the people he sold out to and only slightly because as has been hinted at and as we'll see outright eventually the DJD are some of the most sadistic, horrifying monsters in existance and it's VERY hard to sink to their level.

Ratchet however.. continues to be badass: He summons his holo avatar to distract Pharma.

Okay so this is from every early in this continuity, and a neat touch Simon Furman added: the transformers could project a driver, allowing them to talk to any authorities, blend in that sorta thing. So I give Roberts credit for remembering it and using it cleverly. The two struggle.. and the cure falls with him. Ratchet however is calm, willing to die.. simply because with his hands not working he has nothing left to loose..a nd while he looses an arm, Pharma is left hanging… and in a warrnted sadistic choice: turn into a jet and trigger the virus or hold on. he tries to take ratchet with him.. but Drift bursts in striaght outta nowhere, chops off his hands, and leaves Pharma seemingly dead, while Ratchet is revealed after to have grabbed the cure.

We get a quick wrap up: The cure was used…

So Pharma will likely be back despite everyone treating him as dead, and Red Alert is shocked as Ratchet makes him chief medical officer: he was impressed by his work and him , having figured out something was wrong contacted him.. and his empathy over fistiron, having wanted to save him, cements it and Ratchet shows he's awesome one last time.. by feeling bad at the waste of Pharma. He was a great doctor.. and now he's gone. He could've done so much good but instead did so much evil. The only good thing besides first aid and co to come out of this… is a little reminder ratchet took with him

Soundtrack:

Get Me Away From Here I"m Dying by Belle and Sebastian: A decent song that also nicely contrasts with the violent tone of the first few pages. Nicely done. Carries On by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes: Okay this may be one of th ebest band names i've ever heard. I'll also admit I really didn't like this song for the first minute or so.. and then the band kicks in and it fucking slaps. I'm not sure it fits the issue, but man is this song great. City Sickness by Tindersticks: Now this is more like it. This one entirely fits the story and fucking slaps, and whoever the singer for tindersticks is he fucking kills it. It nicely fits the tone of the last panel. One of the best songs so far. Next Time: I did mention a last stand of some wreckers didn't I? Then after that later this month it's therapy time! Unknown to them, there was a silent witness to the successful attack.

They had been shadowed by a ship that, though big, was used to scouting unseen. Sula and Lora, up in one of the big A frame mast tops of the Dark Dragon used the light of the moons to their advantage for both seeing and staying unseen.

There being no useful light for Dayspeech, Lora nodded her approval and said, “Survivor pickup done well. Ice of thought was for that.”

Sula agreed, “Ice of Corlis feelings known for Boren. Keep Great Law still. Good is. Now return to Corlis fleet. How deal with prisoners, we see.”

The Dark Dragon slid silently back to where she had been holding station with the fleet.

Danar carefully conned the Corlis Avenger into the fleet, where a committee of Captains was awaiting their report. Instead of the current Council Ship, they tied up to armory ship that they had launched from. A crew led by Daron boarded to inspect every aspect of the ship, after her first real action. Cargo cranes reloaded the Avenger's magazines and experts from rope walks and weaving shops went over every aspect of the new catapult and sail designs for any signs of a problem!

The impatient Captains commandeered a substantial gig and interrupted the important work going on to demand, “Why didn't you come to us with your report!? This can all wait! Tell us what happened out there!”

Several of them took advantage of a seemingly clear space of deck to stand and glare at the Avenger's crew! Daron shouted them down! “Get out of that space! We are doing a tension test! The catapult's arm will be slicing through there!”

The others dashed for safety but Captain Arogan sneered, “Just hold it off until . . .”

Mahad dove in flat and drove him from his feet! From his prone position, Arogan was raising an arm to strike at Mahad when the massive throwing arm smashed past! Arogan's screams filled the night! His arm had been ripped off from just above the elbow and his blood was fountaining as he flailed in his agony!

Mahad rolled to his feet and straddled Captain Arogan while calling out, “First Aid! We need a tourniquet now!”

Jims sprinted across the deck with the vital kit! It took both of them to hold the shocked and agonized captain down while they got the life saving tourniquet into place and tightened!

Turning to the rest of the Captains of the Committee, Danar snarld, “You did this and nearly ruined the catapult test into the bargain! You entered my command past a clearly marked danger zone notice! If you had the courtesy of Kraken Hag you would have come to the free side for boarding like both manners and law require! You NEVER board from the bows and you know it!

“You will get your report! First, though, this ship will be properly inspected and made fully battle ready!”

The chief of the Boat-builders guild stood forward, a hand on Danar's shoulder and stated calmly, “Lad is right. Not diplomatic, perhaps, but dead right on all points. We were just sending you a message about this situation.

“Seems that the ship that they sank was not alone. The high lookout, up on the whipstaff, saw what appeared to be another vessel. We were making sure that the Avenger was ready for another fight when you stuck your noses in. As soon as the prisoners are off loaded, we already have reprovisioned the Avenger and she will be making a second sweep for the defense of this fleet, which is this vessel's sole purpose.”

“We have not authorized any such action! As for those prisoners, they are Borens! Just throw them overboard and spear them for sport, like they do ours!”

Daron, interrupting the conversation of Captains and Master, pointed out, “Captain Erol of the Periwinkle, right? Do you see that big black ship just over there? They are here to restore the Great Laws and NOTHING else. The Borens may not follow the Great Laws but we do.

“Bluntly, Sir, denial of or violation of the Great Laws is grounds for the loss of Captaincy. Take the prisoners and give them proper trials. The alternative is for you to be removed, executed, or if they back you, your ship sunk. Those people on the Dark Dragon are NOT our friends. They are with us only because we follow the Great Laws.”

There were two men up on the high lookout’s whipstaff of the Lesser Hag, a Born fleet vessel. They were nervously watching the horizon in all directions with the greatest of care. The Lesser Hag was holding station in the debris field over the sunken wreck of the Petral.

Captain Hallan was grimly examining the still wet rough diver's reports. Looking up sharply at his divers he asked, “How sure are you that all of this was done by only three shots?”

Banda, his lead diver corrected, “Only three that hit her, Sir. Of that, we are certain. The hull breacher that hit her rudder is still in the ship. Here, let me show you.” He took the notes and indicated the place. “You can see it down there because the main hatch came off or was removed in the sinking.

“Now this one here shows the size of the hole that the hull breacher made. Besides simple penetration, both the rudder and stern post were shattered, increasing the amount of damage. This one hit would have taken her down.

“If you look here, Petral's bowsprit was totally broken away by a hit that took it just inside the hull, where it was anchored. That hole goes clear through the ship and is about a hundred and twenty centimeters across. What is really bad with all of this is the very precise aim of both of these hits.

“I have two divers still working to bring up the rigging destroyer that broke the main mast. We can't recover the hull breacher because of both its size and location in the wreck. We did get a really good survey of the weapon, though.

“One last item of interest, Sir. All of the Petral's portside and stern catapults were fired at least twice. Might have been more, but we can be sure of twice.”

Captain Hallan came to a decision. “As soon as you have that weapon, we must go South with this news. We can return to our duty shadowing the enemy later. Karl must know of this as soon as possible.”

The sails of the Lesser Hag filled with wind as she fled south to carry her news to Karl.

State of the Blogs Address

Well, now. The first half of 2022 seemed to fly by, and I totally forgot to do this thing on time.

I don’t publish “Coming soon…” or “On the horizon..” type posts on a regular basis, simply because plans can change, and creativity waxes and wanes. I can’t commit to something that I won’t even get started until three months from now, because I don’t know if when I’m finally free to work on it, I’ll still have the same motivation. But I do try to let fans (and haters!) know which direction I’m generally headed in every six months or so.

In my personal life, things have been moving along fairly well. Another year, more anniversaries and milestones, more triumphs and setbacks, great mirth and great melancholies (to paraphrase Howard). Nothing extraordinary, just regular life stuff.

I think my biggest accomplishment as a Simmer in the first half of 2022 was making the Tutorial Library its own separate blog, and uploading the PDF documents to WordPress so that they’re directly accessible from the page. Based on the outpouring of support I received on Tumblr and the sheer volume of tutorials being downloaded, I would say it’s been a smashing success. I should have done it long ago.

The meadhall projects were a bit of a surprise. They weren’t originally planned. They were two separate one-off projects. But I wasn’t satisfied with just the original furniture; a proper meadhall should have big tables, places to gamble, places for weary travelers to rest, and so on. So two sets became three, three sets became six, then I added some completely unplanned sets of walls and floors, and here we are. It will probably be wrapped up in two or three more furniture sets. Aside from that, I have big plans for BATG, a few smaller projects, and more clothes conversions. See below for more details —————————————— Vaya, vaya. La primera mitad de 2022 se pasó volando, y se me olvidó por completo hacer esta cosa a tiempo.

No publico regularmente posts del tipo "Próximamente…" o "En el horizonte…", simplemente porque los planes pueden cambiar, y la creatividad crece y disminuye. No puedo comprometerme con algo que ni siquiera voy a empezar hasta dentro de tres meses, porque no sé si cuando por fin esté libre para trabajar en él, tendré la misma motivación. Pero trato de informar a los fans (y también a los haters!) hacía donde voy cada seis meses más o menos.

En mi vida personal, las cosas han avanzado bastante bien. Otro año, más aniversarios y logros, más triunfos y reveses, grandes alegrías y grandes melancolías (parafraseando a Howard). Nada extraordinario, sólo cosas normales de la vida.

Creo que mi mayor logro como Simmer en la primera mitad de 2022 fue convertir la Biblioteca de Tutoriales en su propio blog, y subir los documentos PDF a WordPress para que sean accesibles directamente desde la página. A juzgar por la avalancha de apoyo que he recibido en Tumblr y el enorme volumen de tutoriales que se han descargado, diría que ha sido todo un éxito. Debería haberlo hecho hace mucho tiempo.

Los proyectos de meadhall han sido una sorpresa. No estaban planeados originalmente. Eran dos proyectos individuales. Pero no me quedé conforme con los muebles originales; una taberna de verdad debe tener mesas grandes, lugares para apostar, sitios para que los viajeros cansados descansen, etc. Así que dos publicaciones se convirtieron en tres, tres se convirtieron en seis, luego añadí algunos conjuntos de paredes y pisos completamente imprevistos, y aquí estamos. Probablemente, se acabará con dos o tres juegos de muebles más.

Aparte de eso, tengo grandes planes para BATG, algunos proyectos más pequeños, y más conversiones de ropa. Ahí abajo hay más detalles

This morning I gave Sporticus a bath. There was a big spider in the shower the whole time I couldn't seem to wash down the drain but it didn't bother me too much. She shed a TON of hair this time around. I also found out later that she peed in the corner of my room, likely after her bath while I was taking a shower. For breakfast I made a jimmy dean sandwich with rice and a pear cup. I intended on doing my workout today and this was a good breakfast for it calorie-wise. I watch an episode of Moral Orel about Doughy being neglected.

For work I warmed up with sketches of wolves. They didn't turn out as good as others and I found out that their front legs aren't easily simplified. Also that they are very similar to horses at certain joints. Then I spent another hour on the Venus commission coloring the characters. And then I finished preparing my next NSFW YCH.

After work I did my dishes and started my workout. I watched a video of Dan Schneider while I did a few sets of lunges and a couple miles on the treadmill. I found out my knee still hurts, I MAY have to schedule a doctor's appointment for it. Although I haven't given it an opportunity for some good rest so I should probably try to take it mega easy for a couple weeks before asking a doctor. For lunch I made chicken stew. I was aiming to make it rich and spicy but ended up making it too salty somehow, I think too much lemon pepper. It was edible but not that great for the effort. While cooling/eating, TK was messaging me about issues with her boyfriend and how he has a pattern of problematic jealousy. I took her side completely with what she had to say, it sounded to me like he not only had unrealistic expectations but also that he was not communicating the problem very well. It got me thinking a lot in general about jealousy and how the dynamic can change between two people that work well together when they elevate from friends to a relationship. I think nothing SHOULD change if both parties know how to talk and don't develop unrealistic needs.

I did my afternoon work late on account of how long the stew took. I did a request for FY that I think turned out okay and then I got into VRchat to paint from "life". I went to that old world DS and I found with all the hobkin avatars and picked a place to stand that I'm going to copy from. I think it's a great idea because it's basically just a color study and results in a sort of unique result, that being what looks like an uninteresting in-game screenshot but it's actually been hand painted. After that I worked on my avatar for about 15 minutes which was enough time to prepare and bake the AO for the textures. This whole time I was using my good headphones to listen to loud rain with some music and a stream at a lower volume.

When I was done I hopped on the Roblox horse game to catch some horses and check out the training island. DS was free so we called and watched a furry species ranking video while I horse trained and she practiced airbrushing. We also finally watched the fabled balut sausage video which was horrifying, I actually thought I might throw up and had to look away. Then it was more of the usual furry con content and we went on a sidetrack trying to see if any of the footage had her in it. We found about 10 pixels of her at the waterfront in 2022, still an exciting find.

In bed we did our puzzles. The crossword was really hard for some reason and took us a whole 12 minutes. The last 2 only took a little over 1 minute each. Then it was 2 Monster High chapters and I played through the Beast's Castle level in KH2 until I got to the boss. We did a little smash or pass session with the enemies and a few actually got me thinkin a little.

Today was strange in that for most of it, I really had the desire to be alone but not to be myself. Usually when I wanna do something alone, I'm still trying to express myself. But I didn't want that today, I wanted the influence of others. The happy medium was a little bit of texting. Also since today was about "self", I combined that with my Costar prompt which was "cry over someone else's problems". So during the afternoon I was thinking a lot about TK and DS, putting myself in their shoes thinking about the woes they both expressed today. It felt good, like a helpful empathy exercise.

What to Expect at Genesis X

Genesis X has arrived, and for the first time since 2011 is featuring Brawl! At 71 entrants, this is the largest non-Super Smash Con tournament since Apex 2015. Despite multiple top 8 seeds dqing, this remains a fairly stacked tournament, currently sitting at B tier on the 2024 SSBBRank TTS. With multiple top 10 players, old names, and one of Brawl’s newest rising stars, this is a tournament you sure don’t want to miss.

The Top 8 Seeds

8. SuperGirlKels

SuperGirlKels played Brawl back in 2014, most notably placing 25th at SKTAR 3, however, she returned to the game just last year, and competed at Super Smash Con 2023. At this tournament, she would end up placing 25th, taking wins over Cabbage72, Montblanc, and Wefflez. Playing Sonic and Kirby, she could end up making a run at this tournament, so keep an eye on her as she makes her way through bracket.

7. Kylo

Kylo has been playing Brawl since August of 2023. August of 2023. That means he’s only been playing for 6 months. Yet in these 6 months, this Meta Knight main has shown a massive improvement, going from just starting the game, to taking a game off of Cody’s Marth in an online tournament. He has online wins on RekRP and Strawberrow, and is looking to prove that his online skill is for real. With Genesis X, he is making his offline Brawl debut, and if all goes well, we may be seeing the beginning of a new top Brawl player.

6. FEAR

FEAR is a Zero Suit Samus main from Florida, who consistently enters Brawl brackets at tournaments he attends, and consistently shows his skill. His best result was definitely his 7th place finish at Super Smash Con Fall Fest, but he also has reached 9th at CEO Dreamland 2020, 17th at Super Smash Con 2022, and 25th at Super Smash Con 2023. He’s consistently been on that edge of the top, and maybe this tournament will be the one where he shows that he belongs at the top level of Brawl.

5. Fino

Fino had an electric run at The Return 12, an online tournament shortly before Super Smash Con 2023, where he defeated ninja1167 (me), Kyoz, Gunnermaniac, and Mikeray4 in Winners Finals before losing to Mikeray twice in grands. At Smash Con, he seemed to be on track to continue this, defeating Kiwi and taking Cody to game 3, until he lost to Iota for 17th. Despite this, don’t underestimate Fino’s skill level. His Olimar is the real deal, and I would not be surprised at all to see him in top 4 or even top 3 of this tournament.

4. Ish

Ish is a Wolf main. And there are multiple nowadays who will tell you that Wolf is broken. Despite this not really being the case, Ish’s run at Super Smash Con showed what his character could do. He brought Gunnermaniac to game 3 (in a really hard matchup for Wolf), and defeated Hb2, Tori, and rank #20 Max Power to reach top 16, where he forfeited vs Lux to end at 13th place. Ish is poised to make another impressive performance here at Genesis, and if he gains momentum here, what is stopping him from doing the same thing in just a couple weeks at Sweet Spot 8.

3. Lux

At Super Smash Con 2023, Lux reached 7th place, defeating both Pelca and Dabuz with Ice Climbers before falling to 686M’s monstrous loser’s run, and he ended up being ranked 9th on the 2023 SSBBRank. Despite only being the third seed, there’s no doubt he has what it takes to win this tournament. Ice Climbers can beat anyone, all it takes is 3 grabs. Or maybe we will see him matchup check with Mario, laser with Falco, or win with Meta Knight, who knows! Whatever character he may throw out, there’s no denying it will put up a fight, and if he can replicate his Smash Con (or Sweet Spot 7) success, grand finals could easily be in sight for Lux.

2. Chia

Chia mains R.O.B, and R.O.B is a mid tier. That much is obvious. However, despite playing a mid tier, Chia has found great success, with wins over Zenan and Gunnermaniac on the way to a 3rd place at The Big House 11, or a win on Kyoz on the way to 9th at Super Smash Con 2023. R.O.B’s greatest strength is that he does well vs Ice Climbers, but he struggles vs Meta Knight. Chia has both of these in her path, with Kylo in Winners Quarters and Lux in Winners Semis. If Chia can pull this out, make an upset, and win the event, this would be the best event win by a R.O.B, ever, in the entire 16 year history of Brawl.

1. Player-1

Player-1 has been ranked #3 in the world for two years in a row now. The world’s best Diddy Kong has been on that edge for so long, only ever losing to Cody and 686M. However, with neither in attendance here at Genesis, Player-1 has a bracket prime for the taking (and remarkably similar to Sweet Spot 7, a tournament he won last year). He is the clear favorite to win the event, and has shown no signs in the last 4 years that he will lose to anyone in attendance. If he starts the year out with a bang, maybe he can continue that momentum into Sweet Spot 8 and take out one of his demons, 686M.

Who is Alta? Is he a new Spongebob character or a version of Spongebob? core au sounds cool!

Good question! Alta or AKA Spongebob.

I created him back in October 12, 2022 when I was talking to my good friend @nunemi I came into making Alta from scratch because seing naika/nunemi's Spongebob and Squidward see5wau versions I got inspired.

AltaSponge/AlterSponge/AlphaSponge. He's in charge with different universes. Ever since the timeline he died, the one who is incharge of the multiverse chose him to be incharge of it since its his time to retire.

Spongebob accepts and after some time, sitting there was a boring thing. He decides to walk over on the walls filled with all multiverses and different timelines. He realized that thinking about his life was boring. And he kind of missed Squidward.

He saw a timeline where its original him that was about to die when he saw Squidward, he runs up there. Spongebob wanted to break out of the void filled with multiverses. By smashing his fist to the timeline he chose. The day he is almost gonna die.

It took him so many times. (Btw he's been stuck in that multiverse for thousands of years) by observing different alternate universes. Once he saw that timeline of his. He broke it.

AltaSponge doesnt get any health damage since he's already dead. He's just a coded copy and destined to visit multiverses

He has a crush on Con!Squid (aka @nunemi 's Squidward version)

-good at acting. He doesnt get caught off guard until you exposed his secrets

-thinks about ConSquid's look up to bottom.

-usually he likes to ignore the fact Con!Squid actually exists.

-A sucker for C!Squid

-the first person he ever met in that au was ConSquid.

-He and EC!Sponge (also nunemi's spongebob version) are like frenemies (friends and enemies well- sometimes friends they just dont get along because how different they both are)

-smarter than everyone else

-he sometimes spies on the characters in any aus so he knows all informations about mostly all of their life.

-He doesnt get damage/health damage when he's out of the multiverse because he's like a copy of an indestructible sponge.

-when he panics more "ERROR" signs starts appearing to his body and glitching

-altasponge starts to crash (freeze for many hours/minutes) when he has alot to think of his mind.

-sometimes when he's bored, he watches other timelines in the multiverse like a tv. Like- literally angst or fluff moments of Squidbob HAHAHAH

-he sometimes comes over to ConSquid and just follows him everywhere or- talk to him

-he and ECSponge are complete morons

He has long life span than everyone could imagine.

His real name is Spongebob H. Squarepants instead of S. In his middle name

Alta is kind of allergic to chocolate and nuts so apperantly he goes with sweet vanilla and strawberry

The multiverse he's on the surface is called "The C0R3"

Its like a core runned by a guardian. If the guardian/or the one who is incharge of the multiverse doesnt exists the multiverse cannot run on its own.

I havent told you alta's true eye colors. If he has a black ink on his face his pupil eyes are like emotes to how he acts.

So if the ink disappears his real eye colors appear and on his left eye its colored golden (#FFD700) and his right eye is grey color (#757C88)

his ink on his face disappears when he feels sadness and being open.

COR3 FACTS

Alta Sponge knows something and thats one thing about the multiverse he guards. If see5w's world/universe collapse. The whole multiverse will too, and thats a great big danger for alta to know.

Just like paper take it as an example. When you burn a tip of the paper and left it there to keep on burning. It will slowly then comes to fast burning the half of the paper.

That means it would also burn half of the multiverse. Then when it comes to the final tip and it stopped burning.

All he would only ever have is one file of a universe timeline and that file is his universe (the part where he actually died) but if that universe also includes to burning then he wouldnt exist at all.

The reason why if one universe gets introuble and collapses, it means that its like destroying a timeline.

If one timeline is not right and is completely destroyed the world of see5w area will start to disappear and also including other characters there.

Also if one file only exist of the world of the multiverse (alta sponge's universe where he died) and he still exists that means theres still time or hope he can reset what happened.

Alta calls it files because its like a universe filled with informations.

If you were ever to visit the core theres rules included that you must follow

Rule 1 never touch any of the files

Rule 2 never destroy or chew on them

Rule 3 never go to the deeper void

Rule 4 NEVER enter into one of the files if you havent ask permission

Rule 5 do not take the files or steal them

Rule 6 if the world is collapsing you only need to go to the deep void to just PRESS the reset button

Rule 7 never go to alta's timeline

How did he die?

It happened in the afternoon back on his timeline... Spongebob had both of his hands full holding two grocery bags he bought. And on a phone call with Squidward chatting randomly. As the traffic light turned green he looked from left to right to see no sign of incoming vehicles.

Squidward finally done with his conversation with Spongebob ended the call. Spongebob was left confused how quick the cephalopod ended the call, but he didnt care.

What mattered to him was Squidward being the only person who was the first to call Spongebob on the phone and started having long chats. That was good enough.

He puts down one of the bag of groceries and puts the phone on his pocket. He picked it up right back again to see from the left a stranger. It was a mysterious shadow figure he couldnt shape, a shilouette from the dark.

Spongebob felt terrified and wanted to cross the street as soon as possible and run. As he crossed the road, he froze from the middle to see the dark figure disappearing.

Then it left him a message "Why dont you just sit there for a second?" He looked from his back to see a vehicle's head light shining brighter and was on a full speed limit.

Then next thing when it hit him everything hurts then he passes out.

Did the COR3 collapse?

Yes! Actually about 3-4 times because oh Alta's friend/rival EyeCrawler!Sponge (also @nunemi 's spongebob version)

Alta would sometimes bring EC there and let him observe it just for fun, sometimes he even ate one of the files and almost put all the files in danger.

It wasn't fun because Alta had to keep using the RESET button because of him.

There was also a time where Alta accidentally breaks a timeline causing his life in danger and he had to convince EC that he has to visit his own timeline to bring the "Alta" back because he was gonna disappear.

Blow my mind!

I have a lore. So before. I explained alta's back story about him seeing a black figure shadow and he was afraid and met his death. Eyecrawler was the reason alta died.

Alta left eyecrawler in the core while alt managed something from another universe and accidentally breaks the timeline, if alta breaks a timeline he would disappear.

He told ec that no one would take care of the core whole universe if he doesnt exist. And if he doesnt exist as the guardian the whole universe will collapse and disappear into dust no one would know. Since he said that to ec, he kind of didnt want to listen at first thinking it was a scheme.

But when alt was beingfor real his parts glitched and disappeared and told him that he has to do something to bring him back. When alt disappeared, alta gave ec his key to unlock his timeline.

Ec was able to enter Alta's past timeline (his universe before he died) and looking at the only file while the other files besides him collapse he knew this was the only way to bring alta back. He visited the universe and cause his death.

When alta in that universe died, he disappeared and hope he did the right thing so everything would go back to the way it was.

Ec woke up in the core when alt called him out and said he did it. But when ec heard him praise at him he was confused because he couldnt remember what happened.

Looks like when alta was brought back to the core to life again the program of the file did not allow ec to remember the whole thing.

Alta's cause of death was suppose to happen in order he would exist and become the guardian of the whole universe.

Alta also didn't remember what ec did when he gave him the access of his timeline, all his last words was that he told him to fix it.

This chart from Argentina shows that to see explosive move a 50 X two, 100 X in 18 months. Today, for the Bitcoin price with twenty fifteen, we will be talking about Bitcoin. This video is addressed to all Bitcoin holders because crazy things are about to happen to be caught. This is the weekly chart for Bitcoin. And today we will talk about whether we can go back above this trend and what’s the laughing. And take a complete lift off here for the big complex within the next few months. However, guys, we will also talk about whether we were just bounced from here and have some more bloody times to come before we can finally lift off that vintage. Jeff Fifteen has to share some very specific insights on the charts for Bitcoin when it comes to that. And then the second part of the video, we would talk about fundamentally bullish things for Bitcoin because taking a look into the Argentinian economy right now, the expected inflation is going higher and higher. And you can see that a local bitcoin, not only the volume of the GTM pesos traded in Bitcoin on the weekly here on local bitcoins is growing exponentially in parabolic, but also inflation adjusted. He has some kind of inflation adjusted on U.S. dollar. You can see that people are flying into Bitcoin like crazy here right now in Argentina. And this gives us a very nice window here into the future. What’s very likely to happen also in the United States, in Europe and so on. All of that and more in today’s episode. I’m very curious also about the Argentina news, because this is a very, very great window into the future here. Crazy things are happening right now in Argentina. Yes, it is. It is here. First, let’s pull up the chart and take a look what’s happening right now. We’re turning a little bit red on the weekly, but that’s OK. It’s all right. We can test the 30 Naameh. If we if we bounce once we bounce up 30 Naameh would be nice if we head up to this this this trend line up here. I had it on here before, but then I took it off. Now I’m putting it back on. So I feel that this is the trend line that we’re going to bounce off of. Maybe whites had up to this trade location, went up into that trade location on a weekly basis and then come back in and about. If we bounce back, we come back in about down here and stay above this trend line. This Dasch trend line, that would be awesome. So now but the market will do whatever it wants to do. But that that would be perfect. I mean, it could come back, you know, what we could do have a V bottom, unfortunately. And the markets don’t like loops. The markets don’t like the bottoms. So I really think that. Right. We might have to come back and test a new one. We actually kind of freaky, but let’s let’s not hope that they can bounce off the little red line and come back and test this this line here. It would go higher. And that’s normally what happens with a. And in the markets, unfortunately. But, you know, you know what was could stop this V v bottom turning into a W. I know the Federal Reserve. Exactly. That could bring this to the world. So, yeah, that never, never trusted me bottom. But you know what? I don’t fight. The Fed is also saying that’s also said a lot. Now, if we go down to the 4:00 hour, unfortunately, it’s not too scary, but you might be a little bit nervous. Because we do have what a divergence in the the on balance volume and on the RSI here. Do we have the. We do also have a divergence on, of course, the Mac. So not very again. Not looking so for the four hour flight. Looks like it’s really heavy here. Struggling to get keep. Go up. Keep going up. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a pullback to thirty eight point two, which happens to be 7400. So we might do a little bit more just to test this. This this last top, maybe come, you know, was wiped out all the stock losses here because a lot of people stop loss here, here, here, here, here, here and here. So that’s what they see here at the seventy four. Seventy four. Eighty to seventy four. Thirty seven. Seventy three. Ninety two. Knock, knock. I’d be surprised if they knock all those those stop losses. You know, that’s the bankers too. All right. That’s one of the things they taught me and trading school is that the bankers and they always go, OK. So we’re going higher and now we’re going for the stocks. Exactly. Exactly. Just as you said before, the market is designed to take the most amount of money from the most amount of people. Most of the time people are in with too high leverage and then they stop. Losses are just the liquidation prices are just too steep to too close the price right now. So I really can see that coming. Yes, exactly. So that’s the most likely scenario. So but this is a great time to be a bit quiet. I think that even though it’s going to take a while before we actually see well, I mean, when I say take a while. Right. That’s that’s in Bitcoin terms, honestly, because 18 month is like long term. Exactly. That’s that’s the scary thing about the cryptocurrency. That crypto perverse is that for for for investors in the crypto universe, 18 months is like, oh, my God. No, that’s. That’s forever. And like, when not talking short term, you have to use the five minute kind of sticks, right? Exactly. So normally our market cycles are like seven to 14 years for for something to get really explosive. Right. And then in the normal market. And I’m talking about explosive like a hundred X. I’m talking like maybe you get my if you’re feeling lucky, a ten bagger 10 X thinks. Bitcoin is going to do anywhere from 50 to 100 X in the next 18 months. So that’s that’s that’s your view. Going to be slow because of your watching it every day. It seems like it’s gonna take forever. But no, it’s going to come very, very fast and hard. So just dollar cost average and take your time and you will we will get there. Now, that’s what people are doing. Obviously in Argentina for you pull up these these news, which are amazing. I want you to consolidate everything for everyone watching. So first of all, we talked about the fall time frame. Retracement to 7400 is pretty much like you right now. It would align with the thirty eight point two on the people, not your retracement. And also on the weekly, it would align perfectly with a 30 A on the weekly. However, zooming out this small retracement, it’s not too hot to be our guys. It is like three or four percent. Guys don’t freak out because of that. Because zooming out. Also going into the half and going into 2020, things are looking very bullish. And we might go above this massive, massive trend. And you can see right here and once we go above and we hold about, very nice times are about to come for Bitcoin and also to consolidate, to set 15 to 100 x bitcoin in the next Cycos. So within the next 18 months, that would put Bitcoin into a price range between one hundred thousand and seven hundred fifty thousand U.S. dollars, guys. So don’t freak out about these retracement if it’s to seven thousand four hundred, even if it’s creating a W and going down to the 5000. Yes, or whatever. Guys, if you are zooming out, I think two things are quite bullish for Bitcoin, especially here in the. Long run and no dive into you. Let’s go into my favorite piece of news for today and your favorite piece of news for today. Argentina. And what’s about to happen also to the western world here, to the United States and Europe? Well, as you know, people are right to a flight to safety. And here in Argentina, writers, they’re slowly going into hyperinflation again. And flight to Bitcoin in Argentina due to debt crisis is a sign of what’s to come. Because, I mean, have you heard what Argentina did? They came up with a 100 year bond and sold it in the market. And when I heard that that was like two years ago, when I heard that, I was like, who in their right mind would buy a bond for 100 years and one percent in Argentina? Pesos. Well, but they sold it. It’s it’s just incredible if you look at the inflation rate. I mean, you are losing all your money. If you put in a thousand dollars into a 100 year bond and you will have to wait 100 years to two percent interest on your money, you lose basically more than ninety nine point nine percent of your purchasing power. Most likely if you buy this specific bond. So this is completely ludicrous. I mean, gee, I didn’t even know about that. Yeah, exactly. It was in Berlin. Unbelievable to look that up yourself here. This is not the people are buying Bitcoin, actually buying it. And you could tell because it even thought it’s gone up. The sale price amount in pesos have gone up a thousand percent since January 18th. It’s actually ten dollars gone up one hundred and thirty nine percent. So people are buying it in order to protect themselves. And they’re using the Bitcoin to protect themselves from hyperinflation. And we can expect that in the United States. And that’s what I expect. Whereas especially if the United States gives out those checks to everyone with a pulse to one or two, top 10 or so, everyone with a pulse. If that happens. Look out. Bitcoin is going to Moom. Exactly. Exactly. Because everyone gets some liquidity on their own. Of course they have to buy groceries. Of course they have to buy food. But they also are very scared because of the expected inflation, which is in Argentina already skyrocketing and which is about to skyrocket. Also in the United States, also in Europe, once all of this crisis and all of this fear settles down, this inflation will go crazy, most probably in these countries as well. And then people might be might want to buy gold, but they might also want to buy a Bitcoin, because in all these countries with its ayran, whether it’s Venezuela, whether it’s Argentina, we have always seen when the inflation and the expected inflation keeps growing. The first thing that people are about to buy is Bitcoin because we have a hot kept bitcoin, 21 million maximum supply versus potentially infinite supply of fiat currency. So it’s actually very, very easy for people like us to count one and one together for people in the outside world. Right now it is not. But it will be eventually. So thanks for bringing that piece of news to us, DaVinci. It was crazy to see that because Argentina, Venezuela, all these countries provide us a very, very nice window into the future. And what’s about to happen to me? Yes, exactly. It’s kind of scary. Can’t believe that we’re here where where we’re gonna print money. And these people, the Federal Reserve. People in the government like don’t see anything wrong with that. It’s mind boggling. But that’s what’s gonna happen, which is, you know, what I always see as the storm coming and what we can do. We can’t stop the storm, but we can do is prepare for it. And preparing for it is by buying gold, silver and, of course, Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.
