what a day omg, so i spent all night reading crimson rivers like literally i couldn’t sleep not bc of cr but yeah i ended reading it all night and let me tell you it’s been HARD

crimson rivers spoilers !!

the second game was even more emotional than the first one wtf, i had literal tears when the change of rules was announced and then i was certain sirius was going to be in it and i felt like regulus would be too and when it got confirmed it made me cry so much 😿😿😿 and remus not knowing and being so happy to see sirius again and then not realizing he was going in the arena omg i was so so sad and then regulus menacing to reveal remus’ name to get sirius to kill him omg 💔💔💔 i was honestly so lost like i honestly didn’t understand what was going on 😭 and then the black brothers deciding to live together 😿😿😿 and sirius in the arena oh how it made my heart ache, to see how all that mattered to him was getting regulus to win the game and remus being the only one to ask him to come back i was heartbroken 😫😫 and i live how sirius is so confident in the game/the hallow and knows exactly what he’s doing but is such a sweet mess with remus, he’s allowing himself to be vulnerable with him and i love them so much for that 🥺💓

and THEN the mission to rescue the tributes and at first idk i thought that they wouldn’t be able to get remus and the hallow would understand he was sirius moon etc but they kept sirius omg 😭😭 and james 😫😫💓 but im so grateful the author didn’t make them hate remus and regulus like the hunger game book did with peeta, im not done yet and i REALLY hope it’s not next but i really could not stand their love to be manipulated this way 😿 oh how i love marlene she’s so dear to me idk i just love her very very much 💓💓💓ok and then james and sirius being rescued too but james being hurt 😢 poor regulus, he thought everyone died it broke my heart <\\3

Would you read about the marauders as bad people if they were written in the same way they are in canon and not sanitised for fanon, or are you too against/not interested enough in those characters no matter what?

Ooo, yes! I don’t think the Marauders are all that bad (bad as in how their characters are written, not morally; otherwise ofc they’re bad tf), their characterisations in canon are actually pretty great!

I’ve explained in this answer to an ask I got, I’ll copy and paste a chunk of what I said:

I honestly think I would’ve loved the Marauders if it weren’t for their toxic stans. I already love Peter, Remus, and I used to love Sirius (but Wolfstar shippers and Marauder stans made him impossible to like), and I really, really like Dark!James (he reminds me a lot of Canon!Sirius) which is basically canon but whatever. They’re not all that uninteresting tbh, but their stans… oh god their stans. They’re an absolute menace.

The Marauders are all dark characters in canon (yes even the “uwu chocolate-loving were-wowf who wouldn’t hurt a fwy 🥺🥺” -_-). Dark!Remus is definitely my favourite, I love him even more than dark!Snape (which says A LOT).

Honestly, anon? Pretty much all I need is for a character to be interesting in order to love them, I literally believe dark theories and headcanons merely to make characters morally worse than they are in canon, just so they’re more complicated and problematic. I really like the Marauders’ characterisations in canon (besides James).

I would love to read fics where they’re well-written and are the same way as they are in canon (or darker). Can someone give me fic recs?!!
