I’m reading Marvel’s “Aero” series, and you should all know that in Aero #4’s B-story we get a wlw couple, one of whom is a sirena (the Phillipines variant of a mermaid) who isn’t drawn male-gazey AT ALL (she doesn’t even have breasts since she’s not a mammal) and her partner is a badass WOC named The Sea Hunter who also looks a bit older than superheroines are typically allowed to be. I love and support them!

Also can we appreciate that Carina’s shoal doesn’t seem to have minded that she was with a WOMAN, they just cast her out because she was HUMAN? And then in the next issue #5, we learn that the evil Alontech who gave The Sea Hunter her powers is actually headed by THE QUEEN MERMAID who is angry the Sea Hunter stole HER LOVE! Lesbian mermaid love triangle!!

Also shoutout to this series for depicting Pearl Pangan, aka Wave, a Filipina superhero, with BROWN skin and not whitewashing her.

So the chinese art exhibit was comparing africans to apes.....honestly sometimes it seems like the only non anti black asian country is the phillipines and north korea. South Korea,vietnam, india,, japan it's like how are they going to be shitty to blacks when the majority of all damage ever done to them was led by white people? Maybe thats why all these white people keep getting detained in north korea and dennis rodman is pretty much safe. Maybe they understand things better more

I don’t know. To be honest, a lot of Asian people from Asia seem to have forgotten that they were all pretty much oppressed by white people a few decades ago. And because of the way some Asian countries have become westernized, especially how all these white corporations and politicians have infiltrated their economies and resources, they’re still being oppressed by white people. Not to mention how some of these countries are using western weapons to oppress each other.

Shoutout to all the Asian folks who know of this and are doing what they can against western imperialism and anti-blackness but yeah, there’s still so much work left to be done. To get some context, Asian people are the largest population in the world with over 4.4 billion of us. If we all woke up and moved as a collective, we could literally change the world for all oppressed people, especially Black and non-Black People of color. It’s obviously much more complex than this given that most Asian people around the world are living in poverty but it’s something I think about quite often.

okay, pretty much to sum this up, this class was the best experience of my life actually. I never been in a class ran this way, its always, the teacher talks the students take notes and then a essay and a test! yaaaaay....nah. I was able to learn about my rots in such fascinating ways, like iron chef, we made dishes that resembled America and the phillipines, I remember when raju talked about the phillipines to us and I listened with such intent and interest. I learned so many new skills, to be friendly and to step outside my comfort zone. I always waited every week to come to class cause it was so fun, I got to see my friends and talk to allyza and emi and they were so sweet shoutout them. 

I would definitely recommend this class to all my friends just because f the way irene runs it so...major SO to Irene!!! but fr, I learned new skills, made new friends, found new resources and just had a amazing first semester of college, thank you all my classmates and emi, allyza, Irene and the rest of the teaching team, for being so supportive and awesome!
