in the spirit of transparency i want people to be aware that the mikey pins are incorrect (pin on the left, sticker on the right)

he's missing the shadow in his mouth and the tail highlight screenprint shape is wrong

this is completely my fault not the manufacturer

i missed these mistakes during the proofing stage and told them everything looked good and to send them to production

it wasn't until later when i was looking at progress photos they sent that i went back to look at the proof and saw the mistake

because of the time difference, when i emailed my rep about it, it was too late as everything was already finished

since it was my mistake and not theirs i would have had to pay for another batch of the mikeys with the correct design then i would have had 2x the amount of mikeys not to mention i needed to pay for other merch i wanted made so i decided not to remake them however, if the pins sell out and there's enough people wanting more, i can make another order and those mikeys will be correct

it's very important to me to be honest about things like this

I do continental and I will forever be a magic loop stan (magic loop >>>> dpns and I will die on this hill). I used to be a REALLY prolific knitter, always had something cast on, and there was one year where I somehow managed to make several pairs of (ravelry link) Fireweeds socks in the space of like a month for holiday presents. but I have early-onset arthritis and it started to really hurt my fingers, so I fell off and don't do nearly as much anymore. :(

mostly what I do these days is mini projects, like little lace panels or doll clothes/accessories that I can finish relatively quickly. I might not have the time or ability to do, like, full colorwork socks anymore, but I still like making stuff!

Roche/Ciri at least have similar personalities and interests, and besides, according to the canon, they have the opportunity to communicate… Roche/Ciri are similar in that they are willing to protect the people they care about. Iorwethdoesn't care about anyone and only cares about his own tail. The Roche/Iorveth ship is mostly water without foundation. People love them more because they see them as a typical enemies-to-lovers ship, not caring about the characters' personalities.

The amount of effort this must have taken you to write from whatever hole you crawled into is actually astonishing. Even with all the run on sentences and spelling mistakes, it's partially coherent.

honestly this isn't like, to say herbert is super niceys in canon BUT. i feel like if he actually succeeded in bombing the player, rookie, gary (and likely dot as well- i dont remember if the original epf command room was destroyed when the psa hq was) he'd probably not feel 100% happy about it. murder is in fact, a big deal! and while i'm not saying he'd instantly regret it i wouldnt be surprised if he'd feel SOME kind of way if he did succeed, even if he was mostly like "YAAAAY THOSE ANNOYING BIRDS ARE FINALLY DEAD". like yknow, even if i write my herbert to be Meaner and Nastier post blackout its not like i see even my herbert and especially not canons as someone who is Only Evil All The Time, i genuinely think this man would be at least slightly conflicted once the whole 'i actually succeeded in killing them' thing kicked in. and while he was obviously thrilled to bits about taking over the island and freezing the epf's leads, freezing them isn't exactly the same as killing them since as we know, even though it can have negative effects like gary saying he'd been having medical issues after being dethawed it's not permanent like being Killed-

re: post about american chocolate, as an american pastry chef i will weigh in even tho no one asked for it lmaoo

but basically the vast majority of american chocolate, particularly milk chocolate, has a preservative called butyric acid. butyric acid is also found in human bile. ofc the butyric acid in chocolate is not sourced from there but it still tastes like that!!

even tho i grew up here im autistic and very sensitive to aftertastes and i have always hated american milk chocolate, when i was a kid i thought i only liked dark chocolate but it turns out i just hate butyric acid.

as for why we do that, i believe its something to do with how large america is? thats why our food is so filled with preservatives in general. something made in say, germany, that is intended to be sold and consumed in germany, will only have to travel like 12 hours max, while in america you can drive for days and still just be here. not sure why that particular preservative tho 🤷

OH WOW A PASTRY CHEF!!!! first of all that is incredibly fucking cool. second of all, butyric acid my beloathed. I’m typically pretty tolerant with foods of all kinds, but i am sensitive to aftertastes too and my GOD hersheys chocolate was the worst of the worst.

I think it was a hersheys kiss i tried? i was so excited about it because ‘oooh just like on tv’ and i thought it would be rich and sweet, and then it just tasted. like vomit. my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.

it makes sense though! i’ve also heard rumours that american bread is sweeter due to the preservatives? like apparently it’s quite cake-y. i can’t attest to how true that is, of course, i’ve only had good old aussie bread (tip top’s the one, good on ya mum 😌👍) but maybe you’ll know more about that!!
