Thank you to the artists and writers who stuck through this final volume with us, and a very special thank you to the Supercorp family for helping us continue to grow this charity zine for a fifth and final year. We wouldn’t be here without your support, kindness, and love. The moderation team has been so thankful and bolstered by all of the artists and writers who participated, as well as all of you who supported your friends and the zine itself.
We hope this zine motivated you not only in your own creative endeavors and relationship with fandom, but also introduced a more grassroots and community-based activism into your lives. Thank you for helping us support our trans family and those we know and love who are victims of IPV and domestic violence. There is still so much more to be done, but the success of this zine proves that we can be stronger together and help support meaningful charities to continue that hard work. Here at the zine we hope that we energized you all to continue giving, whether that’s time or money or participating in a future charity zine. There is no gift too small, it all adds up.
But for now, this final donation marks the closing and retirement of You Are My Hero: A Supercorp Zine. Thank you for five wonderful years!
El Mayarah, the Supercorp Zine Team ❤️

Good morning, everyone! :) I have a rare Friday off work, so imma spend it doing, well, housework and laundry, but imma say “whatever I want”! Lolz, feel free to play along with me.
Now, for today, my post is rather short. It was meant to be a small moment that I wrote basically for me.. but I hope it helps someone else who feels, well…. Broken.
(I promise I’m fine, just… my writing is my brains refuge, so it can go a LOT of places. >,<)
So, without further adieu:
“But Cat, look at me…. I’m broken, useless…”
“Kara Zor-El, are you broken? Yes.” Cat said succinctly, but with a warmth and tone that oozed adoration and love, “But I’m here, and I will spend the rest of my life putting you back together myself if I have to. And while I can’t exactly use gold paint to do it, your light will shine through the cracks, and once you’re whole again, what was once broken will and shattered psyche, will be seen as a strength, as a reminder that you can be made whole again.”
Cat reached over and took her hands and squeezed them.
“… and if you can’t put me back together?” Kara lightly protested, tears streaming down her reddened cheeks.
“Then I will spend every day of my life just happy to have you in it. Broken, whole, or anywhere in between… we’re in this together, you know.” Cat reinforced, squeezing her hand as tears of her own began to populate her eyes.
“El mayarah….” Kara replied in soft, but thick Kryptonese, as she finally broke down in tears, Cat instinctively pulling her into her embrace to keep the broken Kryptonian together as she let her emotion wash over her.
“Yes, darling…. El mayarah…” Cat whispered back, her tone heavy, as emotion was swirling around them both like a personal hurricane. “I’m not going anywhere.”…
(And yes, I really, REALLY have taken those two words as a personal anthem. Ngl, it’s something I’d just tell people, face-to-face, unironically. 🤓)
El Mayarah,
Chlo. 💜☀️
Oh! And PS…. My next snippet is actually in a different fandom. My actual FIRST ship I ever, well, shipped. Lolz. Want a clue? Well, fine, but I’ll do it on my own terms, and I mean it when I say…
“Love you, awesome nerds.” ❤️🤓

Continuation of a "Supergirl" story (series now titled "El Mayarah: A Supercorp Saga") that began with my previous work "Five Years ≤ Two and a Half Weeks" and continuing with "Jahremie". Relative to the previous story, "Jahremie", Part Three picks up the very next day.
Reading "Five Years ≤ Two and a Half Weeks" and "Jahremie" is recommended. But if you don't, know: 1.a. Kara and Lena are engaged, 1.b. The difference in their life spans (Kara living hundred of years) is a Continuing Issue, 2. Alex is a *recovering* alcoholic, 3.a. Cat KNOWS things which shouldn't be humanly possible to know, from some kind of incident with the time-stream, 3.b. Cat has been taking Brainy's Legion Time-Ship (with her assistant of questionable existence, Samantha Arias), but the Super Friends don't know to what end, 3. Kara has been given a week off by Cat, to go to Argo (remnant Krypton), with Lena, to seek Permission&Blessing for the Sacred Bonds (an exalted form of Kryptonian marriage---to which no Kryptonian has ever made with a non-Kryptonian), and 5. Lena has been gifted with a supernatural Kryptonian gift, 'The Words at the Time', which Lena can't talk about with Kara or any other Kryptonian: it might fry their brains.

El Mayarah Info
This is a throuple ship comprised of Ziv Kohen, Rosy O’Connor-Wayne, and Colleen O’Connor-Wayne, written exclusively with @chaoticscribblings
Colleen and Rosy met in July of 2019. Married September 22nd in Vegas. Had  Cairán Timothy and Colman Peter (middle names picked after Tim Drake and Jason Todd/St. Timothy and St. Peter) on November 6th. Colleen moved in shortly thereafter.
Rosy and Ziv met via business in their early twenties. Fucked and struck up a very good friendship.
Ziv returned from spending a year at home in Tel Aviv sometime in late 2019. Ended up being stalked by their ex after the start of the new year.
Upon finding out that Ziv was being stalked, Rosy and Colleen insisted on the other staying with them. The incentive to get them to come along was orgasms. It was supposed to be a no-strings attached threesome. It definitely wasn’t. They started dating in February of 2020.
Cairán takes after Colleen, whereas Colman takes after Ziv, despite sharing no genetic connection with either of them. While Cairán is most responsive to Colleen, as a general rule, both boys react extremely positively to Ziv.
Rosy is Irish Catholic. Colleen is Pagan with a small basis in Judaism. Ziv is Jewish. (Sounds like the start to a bad joke, I know.)

so, Passover started Friday. last night was the full moon. today is Easter. which means that the O’Kohen-Wayne-July clan, that consists of an Irish Catholic married to a Pagan (with a basis in Judaism) and a Jew (O’Kohen-Wayne) and an Irish Catholic married to a Jew (O’Connor-July), have had a very interesting weekend. and a separate Pagan and her wife, who is most likely Greek Orthodox, definitely got dragged into all of it. because that’s what happens when you get socially adopted by your best friend and her insane family and your wife’s best friend is part of the other half of said insane family. not that Adeline minds, she loves Cassie and the whole lot of them, it’s just hilarious to think about.

ok so i have NO time to write at the moment but i have a couple of timeless fics in the works for whenever i do get the chance (probably not til summer at this rate) so i’m making this psa so i’ll commit to actually getting them done at some point:
-pacific rim au (mainly lyatt along with some riya, flynn/lorena and a lil bit of denise/michelle)- i’ve plotted the basic outline for this one and started writing the prologue, but like i said i’ve been too busy to write so it’s been lying abandoned for a while. it will be multichap but i’ll probably try to write the whole thing or most of it before publishing any so i don’t end up with long waits between updates (like some of my other fics oops).
-amy centric canon divergent/alternate timeline au fic (inspired by this post)- i’m still in the early stages of plotting this one but it will probably also be a multichap, and i’ll probably take the same approach of writing the whole thing first. more information to come when i’ve plotted it out more.
as always please do ask me questions about my fics bc talking about them helps my inspiration!

For prompts: Kara and Lena holding hands for the first time. One of them tentatively reaching our, their fingers brushing until they are intertwined and the other gives a small affirming squeeze.
A/N: Okay so when I first saw this prompt I missed the first time part. So therefore enjoy this angsty hurt/comfort mess filled with love that I think is becoming my signature genre.
Stretch. Dig in. Pull.
Stretch. Dig in. Pull.
Lena’s entire body was in agony. Complete and total agony.
Her legs were probably broken as well as a few ribs. Her right arm was numb and immobile which probably should have been the most concerning but at this stage Lena was just grateful that there was one part of her body that wasn’t pure pain.
Stretch. Dig in. Pull.
Stretch. Dig in. Pull.
Two-hundred and fifty metres. A mile. A hundred miles. It might as well have been the distance to the moon and back.
Lena wasn’t even sure that she had managed to cover more than a couple of metres with how she was dragging herself forward mere inches at a time with her one good arm.
She stretched out her left arm into the cracked and broken earth, digging her forearm in with the minimal strength she could muster (her teeth gritted and jaw clenched the whole time) before pulling her broken body forward.
Stretch. Dig in. Pull.
Stretch. Dig in. Pull.
It didn’t matter that she was making minimal progress, it didn’t matter that the pain was so intense she was close to blacking out every time she dragged herself forward. It didn’t matter because all she could see was the crumpled blue and red heap at the centre of the battlefield.
All she could see was Kara and there wasn’t a force on this - or any other - planet that could stop Lena from reaching her.
Alex would be coming for them, Lena didn’t doubt that, would be racing through the ruins of National City to get to her sister but that did nothing to ease the unbearable fear that Kara’s immobile body evoked. Lena couldn’t just lie there not when Kara was in sight.
An alien invasion of epic proportions had required a full scale evacuation of the city and, unfortunately, this time there was no lead weakness that they could exploit. It was their weapons versus Earth’s weapons which came in the form of two powerful kryptonians.
Kara was the heavy weapon, taking the brunt of the attacks to protect the citizens she cared for so deeply whilst firing back with heat vision that eviscerated their ships. Superman was on rescue operations pulling people from rubble and hurrying them along.
Lena had been working with the DEO, tweaking weapons and plans to beat the enemy, when she saw the sight of Kara bruised and bloodied on the screens. It was then Lena did what she had promised herself she would never do.
Had promised herself the second she had seen Lex power-crazy and at his cruelest that she would never follow in his footsteps.
Would never ever, ever put on Lex’s suit.
That version of her had never been in love.
That version of her had never seen Kara hurt.
That version of her had never wanted to inflict pain like she did in that moment.
She unlocked her most secure vault and unleashed the one weapon that made her physically sick to look at.
Lena had been in the air and joining the fight less than a minute later, appearing out of nowhere to shield Kara’s faltering body from a rocket.
Lena looked over her shoulder as her kinetic field absorbed the explosion, watching as Kara’s face morphed from shock to gratefulness to concern.
“Lena, what-” Kara panted, unable to fully summon the energy to shout.
“You’re not doing this alone!” Lena yelled back in return, green eyes desperate for Kara to understand.
“Lena…” Kara cried, blue eyes distraught at Lena being involved, at Lena getting hurt but most importantly of her wearing the suit that she knew Lena despised to save her.
“Together, Kara!” Lena shouted to break through the kryptonian’s mental spiral. “You promised, Kara. You promised! There’s nothing we can’t do together.”
Blue eyes slowly cleared to be replaced with sharp, determined focus.
Kara had made that promise to her everyday since they stopped Lex. Had made that promise to her whenever Lena’s guilt created even a slither of physical distance between them. Had made that promise to Lena whenever there was an awkward moment or fumbled conversation. Had made that promise to Lena every game’s night when she claimed Lena as her partner. Had made that promise to Lena whenever they came close to crossing the line of friendship that had been growing fuzzier and fuzzier with each movie night they had spent cuddled up in each other’s arms.
“El Mayarah.” Kara murmured clear and proud, jaw lifting up and a familiar righteous fire flickering in her eyes.
“Up, up and away?” Lena teased, priming her jets in readiness.
“Up, up and away.” Kara repeated, hand twitching by her side as if she was about to reach out for Lena so that they could soar up into the sky together.
***
It was the final ship that took them both down and created a crater that wiped out at least two streets.
Lena hit the ground first - though Kara followed less than a heartbeat later - the Lexsuit taking the brunt of the impact and saving her life but leaving her body wrecked. Crawling out of that hunk of twisted metal had been more traumatising than the terrifying plummet to Earth and knowing - because she could see Kara’s unconscious form falling nearby - that Supergirl would be unable to catch her.
Stretch. Dig in. Pull.
Stretch. Dig in. Pull.
The closer she got to her red and blue goal, the more her hope dwindled, the more her heart broke causing an ache that surpassed all of her physical injuries.
Kara was so still.
Kara, who Lena inextricably linked to activity, motion… life.
Kara, whose ever restless legs bounced through meetings and close games of chess.
Kara, whose fingers constantly sought to make contact with Lena’s hand or to brush through Lena’s hair.
Kara, who was ever quick to spring to her feet and sweep Lena into a hug.
She should not be still in this dead wasteland as Lena crawled towards her.
Lena’s strength gave out a couple of feet away from Kara, her arm unable to pull herself forward. A scream of frustration and anguish ripped from Lena’s throat at being denied the comfort of simply touching the person she loved so much in the world when she was so close.
Her fingers stretched and stretched, clawing at the blackened earth, Kara’s pale finger milimetres from reach.
Stretch…
Stretch…
Stretch…
Lena inhaled sharply as her fingers made fleeting contact, hope rekindling in her chest.
Stretch…
Stretch…
Stretch…
Lena’s index and middle finger curled slowly around Kara’s index finger, intertwining them together with that single contact point.
“Kara…” Lena breathed.
She was grateful for this connection. Grateful to be with Kara in any way possible but still finding it not to be enough.
She was greedy. Greedy for more. Greedy for everything.
So this could not be how it ended. She and Kara would not end here.
“Kara.” Lena repeated urgently. “Please, Kara.”
She squeezed Kara’s finger with all the strength she had left in her.
“Not like this.” Lena begged. “Please, please don’t leave me.”
The returning squeeze of her finger was so light, so tender that Lena could have easily imagined it except for how heartbreakingly familiar it was.
It was how Kara always touched her: soft and gentle.
It was all the affirmation Lena needed. She knew then that this wasn’t the end of them. She knew then, as she slipped into a deep slumber awaiting the rescue that was undoubtedly coming, that everything would be okay.

Fix Fic I’ll probably never write:
- Kara hangs up the phone from speaking with Cat at the wedding. She’s super confused.
- You hear Mon-el’s voice come from off screen with a cute one liner about not joining in on the fun, he drags Kara to the dance floor and a slow song comes on.
- They start dancing, Kara tells him about the conversation with Cat and how she feels stuck and how she doesn’t feel needed anymore.
- He gives her some advice, tells her how he feels in the future living one life, reminds her of how she felt on Argo, how she was just Kara Zor-el.
- But this isn’t Argo, she says. Even if she reveals herself now, people will still never see her as just Kara Zor-el, she’ll be a celebrity. Plus she has a niece now, so she’s only added to the list of loved ones that villains could target. Plus, she tells him that that wasn’t just because of Argo but because of him. She never hid part of herself even from day one.
- They go quiet and look over and see Brainy and Nia dancing. Kara comments how Nia thought she’d never see him again. Mon-el tells her that opting out of the meld is the only reason he himself could come back for the wedding, but once it’s over he has to find a new solution.
- Kara ponders. “What if I joined the fight? I’m not needed here anymore. Nia and Brainy can take care of the city. Kelly and Alex are going to be growing their family. It seems the like future could use a little bit of help, I could just be me, and you know… I could meet Winn’s daughter. I’ve really missed him… and you.”
- Alex and Kara have an emotional goodbye, but Alex understands and they know they can communicate across time.
- Lena and Kara have say their goodbyes and tell each other what their friendship has meant to each other. Lena promises to be the best godmother ever to Esme.
- She says goodbye to J’onn but Mon-el tells them both it’s not really goodbye as she’ll see J’onn sooner than she thinks.
- The Legions and Kara board the Legion ship. Kara is seen watching her family grow smaller as the ship pulls away. She smiles, tearing up, “El mayarah”
The end.

Okay, so after last night’s episode I would just like to say that Supercorp IS Endgame. I’d also like to point out the various reasons as to why Kara and Lena are not only soulmates but true twin flames.
For those reading this post who have never heard of the term twin flame: “A twin flame is your own soul, shared across what appears to be two physical beings. It’s one soul, split into two bodies.” -Google’s definition.
For those who are spiritually inclined and have a proclivity for indulging esoteric philosophies; Lena and Kara are ABSOLUTELY twin FUCKING flames 🔥🔥🔥!!
Here are the reasons why:
1. Their drastically different childhoods that resulted in remarkably similar trauma.
Both Kara and Lena have experienced great loss throughout their life. Both mourned the death of their parents, and life as they knew it, at a very early age. Both were shipped off to a foreign land, forced to leave behind everything they knew, in hopes for a brighter/safer future.
Albeit, Lena got the shorter end of the stick in regards to unconditional love, but both were given a second chance and a new start...and yet, they still never fit in, or felt like they truly belonged.
Although they individually have dealt with said trauma in different ways (Lena by pushing away those who try to get too close, and Kara by holding on tightly to those she holds dear) both of their actions are motivated by the same subconscious fear that they HAVE never and WILL never TRULY belong. All while yearning for a sense of “home”.
2. They are opposite reflections of each other; true “mirror souls”, if you will.
Physically, aesthetically, economically, and emotionally—they are complete “mirrors” of one another.
Kara is strong, physically powerful, cut from marble, all hard edges and sharp lines—except for her face. Lena is clearly not as physically powerful, she is soft, all curves, and exudes the grace of the Devine feminine energy—except for her face, which is hard edges and sharp jaw lines. You see what I’m saying?
Aesthetically and economically go hand in hand of course. Lena’s exorbitant wealth is evident in her high-end designer appearance; whereas Kara’s aesthetic is more humble and grounded, and prioritizes comfort over “fashion”. (Let’s admit it. Some of Kara’s fashion choices have been questionable. She clearly rocks the chinos and button-downs better than anything else in that eclectic closet of hers she refuses to come out of 😏)
Emotionally...oh honey. Do I need to say more? I won’t say much but I will say this: Kara is the sun and Lena is the moon. They compliment each other in a way that ensures the world keeps turning.
3. Their individual strengths are the other’s individual weakness and vice versa.
Goes along with the aforementioned “opposite reflection” point above but I’ll expand a bit further in regards to their specific personality traits.
Lena is predominately analytically driven, whereas Kara is emotionally driven. Lena is good in crowds, Kara is not (overwhelmed). Lena is introverted, Kara is extroverted. Lena is detail oriented and has the memory of an elephant, Kara is clumsy and as forgetful as a Pisces (but hey, she has a lot on her plate and barely any free time to balance it). Lena eats like a rabbit-bird-hybrid and Kara eats like a garbage disposal. Kara loves giving and receiving hugs and other forms of physical affection whereas Lena does not (UNLESS it’s from Kara, of course). Etc. Etc. you get the picture.
4. Now this one is the DEAD GIVEAWAY. Undeniable, irrefutable PROOF that Lena and Kara are twin flames.
They are LITERALLY completing what is know as the Twin Flame Journey or the Twin Flame Union.
The stages of Twin Flame Union are roughly as follows:
1. Yearning for “the one”. I think every human being that believes in love experiences this whether it’s throughout their entire life, or only their adult life until they meet this person but yeah. You get it. Kara has always wanted that “Wapow!” moment.
2. Glimpsing/meeting “the one”. Whether it’s only for a short moment, an extended meeting, or perhaps merely locking eyes with them as you pass each other by...you feel immediately connected. There is an instant soul recognition when meeting them, so much so that you could have sworn you’ve met them before or that it’s as if you’ve known each other your whole lives.
Remember when Kara met Lena? And she was gaga-eyed over Lena? Or when Lena felt so comfortable around a new acquaintance that she granted an almost stranger unbridled access to her office? Or how about when Red Daughter flew to America (the country she was taught to hate), with no recollection/memories of Kara’s relationship with Lena (again, the woman she was taught to hate), all because she felt PULLED to do so. And then when she did meet Lena she looked at her and practically drooled over her as if Lena was a double XL cheeseburger with extra special sauce from Big Belly Burger? Like, biiiitch 👀
3. Falling in love. Need I say more? Fine, again, I will. You CANNOT tell me that there is no way in hell that these two morons are anything BUT in love with each other. That’s a lot of double negatives and I appplogize so let me reiterate for clarification: THEY ARE IN LOVE AND YOU CAN’T CHANGE MY MIND!
And at this point is it so freaking BEYOND platonic love, the show cannot explain it away or sweep it under the “just close friends” rug. No. Kara used her Fifth Dimensional Wish (she literally could have wished her entire planet didn’t explode) and she said “make Lena not mad at me, I’m sad 😔” 👀. Mmmkay. Not to mention Lena picking Supergirl over Jack, her former lover. Or the plethora of other times Lena chose Kara/Supergirl over everyone else she knew. Mmkay.
4. The fairytale relationship/friendship. Lena has finally found someone she can depend on, be vulnerable with, support her without judgement, trust with her life etc. and Kara has finally found a true best friend, not her sister, not Kenny who she didn’t realize was her best friend till after he passed? And now he’s not dead?? But her one true best friend that she felt she didn’t need to be neither Supergirl, nor Kara Danvers, but rather Kara Zor-El around (despite Lena not knowing that little tidbit of information).
They were each other’s best friend. Each other’s person. They were happy.
5. Outer Turmoil and Inner Purging—Supergirl and Lena fight. Lena still does not know that Kara is indeed Supergirl and does not pick up on the brewing tension between herself and Kara.
Kara of course is riddled with guilt and her relationship with Lena becomes strained. This outer turmoil creates inner purging by bringing out negative traits in each other. I.E. Lena hiding kryptonite and also Kara asking James to spy on her. Shit gets messy but they still try to make it work.
6. The Runner and the Chaser/Separation Stage—Tensions mount between the two and Lena FINALLY learns about Kara’s secret. And she has a choice to make. So what does she do? She runs. Not physically but emotionally. She completely withdraws from not only Kara and their friends but also withdraws from herself.
She literally experiences cognitive dissonance and becomes someone she is not. Someone other people made her believe she was on the inside, even though Kara knows that it isn’t. And so, Kara chases her.
Lena becomes the runner and Kara becomes the chaser as they navigate this separation stage.
Continuously running and continuously chasing.
7. The Surrender and dissolution stage—they’re fucking done. They’re tired. They’re exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally after all the bullshit they put each other through as well as all the bullshit Lex and the Phantom Zone put them through.
They come to an impasse in regards to Lex and realize the only way to defeat him is to work together, as a team. (El Mayarah anyone?)
They surrender to their emotions and to each other as their egos dissolve and their souls expand after having learned invaluable life lessons. The major one being: THEY CANNOT LIVE HAPPILY WITHOUT EACH OTHER!
8. The last stage that we have yet to see but we fucking better or else I’m gonna January 6 the CW studio building—“Oneness”.
This time, I’m not gonna say more.
So, in conclusion: Supercorp is Endgame because Lena Luthor and Kara Zor-El Danvers are the literal definition of a twin flame, soulmate connection. They are the same soul, manifested in two physical forms, for the sole purpose of expanding their soul’s consciousness.
They deserve to be happy, they deserve to be together. Not only does their union parallel some of the greatest love stories throughout history, i.e. Romeo and Juliet, Darcy and Bennet, Superman and Lois (duh) it would also break the curse of generational karma and illustrate to anybody who watches the show that the only person who defines who you are is YOU. Not a name, not a legacy, not society’s expectations, YOU. And most importantly of ALL...it would showcase that love truly does conquer all.
I rest my case.
TPTB, make Supercorp Endgame or kick rocks ✌️😘
Sincerely,
An empassioned fan with way too much time on her hands.

Found family, hope and heroes [6x15]
Let’s start this with the secret hero of the episode:
Tumblr media
Welcome to the family, Esme!
Aaaaaaand she's a 'mirror'. Called it! ...okay, they call it "Mimic". Close enough. So, little one’s powers are uncontrolled, and Alex spends the majority of the episode stressing out and over-doing things. But, she and Kelly eventually figure it out..
So, Esme gets a tour through the Tower and when Lena is nervously greets the little girl, she gets a compliment.
Tumblr media
Esme, you and me are gonna be very good friends.
And it turns out, Brainy is actually rather good with little people.
We learn that Esme is the smartest person on the show! (could be residual Brainy powers mixed with preadolescent non-bias?) Apparently, Esme not only can mimic powers, but also is able to read them, and that is how she instantly knew Kara and Supergirl are the same person.
Melissa channeling her mother instincts for Kara's scenes with Esme is easily the most adorable thing on TV I've seen in a while.
We learn that Kara and Eliza did fight a lot. I knew Kara and Alex did. I knew Alex and Eliza did. Gotta admit, the Kara and Eliza part was a little bit new to me...
"Innocent little ball of cuteness" - yep, that's Esme alright.
The truth-seeker bit had a nice touch to it... But mothers trying to convince their daughters they are telling the truth and only able to do so by subjecting themselves to the truth-seeker - that rings vaguely familiar, huh...
Tumblr media
Little Esme has trauma from losing her birth family. But her new family is superheroes and constantly throws themselves into the line of fire and risk their lives, so no worries! (That's not the message they were getting at? Whoops.)
What else happened this episode?
Nyxly disregards that her collecting of totems and going through the gauntlets on Earth, causes massive fall-out / chaos for the people. Nyxly, your dad lied about you to make himself look like a hero, but you are misreading the situation here!
Mitch found a mcguffin way for Nyxly to use the Courage Totem.
William gains bonus points with Lena for bringing food to the Tower.[Insert fan-theory that Lena moved into the Tower - for safety reasons - and lives off whatever scraps she can find and what meals Kara brings her.]
...and he instantly loses his bonus points for lightly swapping her hand and telling her his fancily named treats are not for Lena.
...but regains half of them because they are meant for Esme.
Kara and Lena are in sync. Hehe~ 🌈
Kaznia is mentioned and even appearing again. Right, the sign last episode said the Den Haag location was politically tied to Kaznia...
Now, thanks to Mitch’s help, Nyxly can take courage away now. She tries it at the Den Haag location, but apparently Kara (and J'onn) have so much courage, that it doesn't work on them...?
Kara tries the Hope Totem's gauntlet. ...how? She didn't manage to win the Courage Totem. She skipped the Humanity Totem's gauntlet entirely!! What happened to the rules?!
Ominous totem-voice: "Inspire a hope that burns longer and brighter than the sun" Me, a Supercorp shipper: "Simple: Ask Lena out for a date!"
Nyxly using her Courage Totem powers seems to have lessened the attending politicians' courage and has them give in to their fears? Or was it Kara starting the Hope gauntlet, that makes the people more skeptical of each other? Either way, a war is brewing and J'onn's attempts to calm the politicians down are not working well... Maybe he shouldn't have had dressed down...
Meantime, Lena continues her pattern of letting people know where others are...
The pages Lena is studying: "flight Balm" ...and "Complexion Elixir" ...so, she can fly alongside Supergirl and look pretty while doing it? Lena, dear, how does any of these titles sound like it will "help secure the Humanity Totem"?
While her research approach is questionable, girl tries to impress her Kryptonian by saying "El mayarah" at an opportune time. I think it worked ...at least on me.
Tumblr media
🧡
Over on Nyxly’s ship, Mitch is trying to be inspirational by mentioning the hope /  joy Taco-Tuesday brought to him in prison... It’s so irrelevant and tonally distracting, that I had to mention it. It wasn’t even funny or produced a funny reaction from Nyxly. Why?
Nyxly's interpretation of the Totem rules is baffling to me. But so are the so-called rules in general, so no surprise there.
Another Kara and Lena couch-scene:
Tumblr media
Kara finally explains what she as a Superhero is allowed to do and what not. ..which applies always, except when she can literally change reality to save her 'friendship' with Lena. Did I get that right?
We later learn there’s another amendment that says: While she can't interfere with human history, when somebody else did it first, she can jump in to undo that damage. Which really strengthens my point, that when Mxy offered her his help last season, she should have used it to undo Lex’ crisis meddling... But, no, the ‘friendship’ thing was more important. Huh.
Lena inspires Kara - once again - to be a good reporter.
Tumblr media
Kara tries to do just that, but - Dang, Andrea... why so pessimistic?
Good to know: Nyxly is just as easily fooled by a pair of glasses as everybody else is.
Aw, new guy was being courageous... and got hurt by Nyxly :’(
Ah, okay, paperclips. And Kara flipping things again.
Not sure if that didn't attract the camera guy to film towards Kara's position and caught her super-speeding away... But I will just assume, the writers say Kara's identity is still save, because plot.
Tumblr media
...part of me wished 1) Andrea got blasted into the wall and 2) she at least got a taste of the fear-spell. Seriously, what is going on with that woman?
I really liked us seeing the little things Supergirl does as she flies through the city. Even if it was just to try and pass the Hope gauntlet...
Was that John Glover? ...naaaah.
Nyxly doesn't see the irony in talking about her father being consumed by power and how 'the powerful will always believe their way is righteous'... while literally saying, that once she got the all-powerful All-Stone, she will set things right.
William does call her out on it, though. Well, he tried.
Aaand we are running out of time.
So, Kara does exactly what Lena suggested earlier and takes the countries’ nuclear weapons away.
Supergirl: "I've got a soft spot for Kaznia." ...do her RedDaughter memories still live inside her?
Supergirl: "Lena, I am heading your way now." Me, a Supercorp shipper: "...!!! Oh, right... no time for that :( "
Somehow Lena seems to have managed to perfect her spell. And in a way, too, that doesn't reject Kara but only Nyxly - wow! I suppose, that’s what happens when she puts her heart into her magic?
William does a brave! A very brave!!! He saves the day!! (..dey?)
Oh, and the mind-connection is broken!
Now, Team Superfriends has three totems.
Kara managed to win the 3rd’s gauntlet. The first is reset. What was that very important rule about keeping the order again?
So, Lena says, courage, hope and humanity are... elements? .... ...my brain hurts.
Kara ACTUALLY throws the Hope Totem into the sun. Dang. You have no proof your theory is correct, girl!
...also: Now, Team Superfriends has two totems.
And Lex (we all know the "secret admirer" is Lex, right?) has once again perfect timing... to bring hope to Nyxly. Apparently what Luthors do to woo their supernatural love interests, is give them suits of armor.
Tumblr media
Overall, I found this episode enjoyable. Not great, but a CWSG average level of enjoyable. With some highlights and some scenes the SC fandom can lose their minds over. So I call it a win.
What annoys me is how the writers play fast and loose with their own established, initially decently clear-cut, supposedly very important totem rules. But, now, with one of the totems gone and the All Stone presumably no longer achievable... *sighs* Well, we’ll see...
That’s all for now, folks!
Kue out.

I started watching Supergirl in 2016 after I happened to see the Livewire episode with my sister ("or is what's required a softer touch? I mean, she does kind of give off a Sapphic vibe, with that big ol' butch "S" chest").
It felt like a promise, and a balm after The 100. Oh boy, this definitely aged badly.
I fell in love with Kara and Alex, and started to ship Supercorp after the very first episode of season two.
5 years, 139 episodes, 5 crossovers, countless fanfics, headcannons, snippets, plot bunnies, fanarts, discussions, podcasts, lives, youtube videos, cosplays, comic cons, new friends, a whole community later... Here we are.
What a journey. And yes, the every ending tastes bittersweet. It tastes like tears and laughter. Goodbye seems like an end.
I will forever keep this fandom, this family in my heart. And this doesn't need to be the end of all.
Let's get together to celebrate for one more night. One last time.
Because we learned, that we're stronger together. El Mayarah.

Are you still writing about Karadox? I had that idea and I wanted to share with you 😊 What if Brainy had accidentally bound with young Kara in this past travel (platonicly) and she recognized him when they met again in the future cause Reign? She said something like "Hey, Brendon, I missed you" 😂
I SURE DO STILL WRITE ABOUT KARADOX, I am so sorry that it’s been such a long time and people got the impression that I don’t write them anymore.
But anyway, you brought me out of my writing slump, thank you so much, anon friend. I’m probably going to make this longer soon so I can put it on AO3, but in the meantime, here’s this.
~
At first, she couldn’t remember anything outside her apartment.
Maybe she had always been there, in those clothes, asleep. Maybe if she opened the windows, she wouldn’t see anything outside the glass. Maybe the apartment wasn’t even hers. Maybe she was dreaming, and the real world was nothing like this.
She didn’t even remember her own name, for a little while.
But she was awake now. Her name was Kara Zor-El. Kara Danvers. She knew that, at least.
And she knew one more thing, or more accurately one more person, when she opened her apartment’s door.
It wasn’t immediately obvious. The face that greeted her wore what looked like three blue circles on his forehead, and his hair was completely white. His skin was blue, and he had the same symbol from his forehead on his shirt, just in black.
But his eyes she knew, and could imagine them on another face. Could imagine him wearing a tuxedo, and glasses- or even maybe a baseball uniform.
“It’s… you.” He said, once he’d turned around.
And that confirmed it for her- it had been a long time, but she still remembered many things, like her mother’s perfume, or the last words her parents had said to her before she left Krypton, or everyone she saved. And she remembered his voice, when she met him and his friend the night before prom, and he said her name.
“It’s you.” She repeated, awestruck, as she pulled him into the apartment, shut the door behind them both. “Hey, Brandon. I missed you.”
“My name is Querl Dox.” He said, confused. “Or Brainiac 5. The Legionnaires just call me Brainy. Who is “Brandon”?”
“You don’t remember?” Kara asked. “You were. You and this girl, you crashed to Earth in your fancy ship… you said your planet was dying, and you just barely escaped it. You stayed with Kenny that night, but we did end up talking, and… you inspired me. I guess you could say we bonded, even though you had to leave after your ship was fixed.”
“Who is Kenny?”
Kara sighed.
“Kenny Li. My boyfriend.”
“What?”
“You really have no idea what I’m talking about, do you?”
“No.” he said. “You must be confusing me with someone else. Mon-El sent me, to make sure your neural pathways are clear and intact- and it is clear to me that they must not be.”
“Excuse me? My neural pathways are fine. You’re the one who’s remembering wrong.” Kara shot back.
“Well, before this conversation, I was going to tell you that your brain was in remarkable health, for someone languishing in a coma.” Brandon- Querl- answered. “But it seems as though I need to reconsider that position.”
“I’m sorry, did you say “coma”?”
“Did I bury the lede?” he asked. “You’ve been in a coma for two days.”
“I’m in my loft.” Kara insisted.
Querl looked around, before answering.
“Oh. You mean the physical manifestation of the place in which your subconscious feels most comfortable? That loft?”
“Yeah. That one.” Kara said. “If I'm in a coma, how are you here?”
“Mon-El woke me up from hypersleep to communicate with you on behalf of him and your DEO compatriots.” Querl answered, as if it was obvious. Which it was, for him. She was trying to catch up, and still couldn’t seem to reconcile that someone she met almost a decade prior knew who she was- but couldn’t recall meeting her in person, when she remembered it so clearly.
“31st century technology. It's also what's keeping you alive.”
“Alive?”
“Reign defeated you. Don't you remember?”
She did- the memories came flooding back, all at once. Kara could practically feel how Reign’s heat vision had scorched her chest, the symbol for El Mayarah becoming ashes as she fell. How Reign had brought her to her knees, made her believe that when she woke up, it would be in Rao’s light, with her family. How she had been ready to be cold, and alien- but hadn’t expected that Reign would be even more of both.
“It seems like we both have a lot of things we should remember.” Kara said, sitting down on her couch, as he lingered, still standing. “Where do we start?”

This is a prompt for @cyclone-rachel who gave me an idea for one of the possible fears Brainy could have faced that would have certainly held a lot more weight in the narrative. Namely, his fear that they couldn’t save Kara in time.
Thanks for the prompt, Rachel, I hope you like it!
“Everyone strap in for turbulence.”
Brainy left Kelly for his own seat feeling somewhat reassured, although that still did not deter the steady onset of nerves continuing to bud inside his chest.
Just last year, emotions such as these could have been very easily compartmentalised, and though he could still manage such tasks by honing his full concentration, it didn’t escape him how every negative emotion fought that much harder to remain at the forefront of his mind.
Fear had never perturbed him quite like it did now. In the Legion, Brainy had met many a terrifying foe, and had even run into creatures that had fed on one’s basest fears. He had always been used as the voice of reason during those instances - relied upon by his team due to his twelfth level intellect, of course, but also because he had always appeared far more impassive against adversaries of that nature. Indeed, he had quickly become the first line of defence for his fellow Legionnaires when faced with scenarios that involved emotional manipulation.
Brainy hadn’t minded, and at the time he hadn’t considered just how such events might have affected him in the long term. How much grief or torment he’d bottled deep inside without even realising the impact it might have had on his psyche.
Instead, he had felt only satisfaction that he was relied upon to deter such emotional conflicts, even if – in the past – he had at times been the instigator of similar arguments simply by stating fact over softening strategies that more empathetic members of the team may have used in his steed.
It had never been his intention, of course, but now he was beginning to understand the importance of cushioning techniques when it came to dealing with emotional unbalance. Kelly had certainly used them by assuring him he would likely not need to use her coping methods during this mission. Logically, however, Brainy knew that it was only a matter of time before the Phantom Zone affected them all in one way or another.
Brainy shook his head, easing himself back into his chair. He tried to settle his nerves by doing as J’onn had instructed. He snapped the belt over his lap, perusing the control panel before him as he glanced up at the screen mapping out their progress so far, the Q waves that projected continuously from the Phantom, far across the rocky and ancient terrain ahead of them.
Then, something flashed.
A white hot light impeded his vision for barely a moment, but it was enough for him to turn away, blinking against the unexpected hindrance. Harsher turbulence followed soon after, causing Brainy to sprawl awkwardly towards the control panel, holding himself upright. He squeezed his eyes shut, fractals of light still swimming in the darkness, before he looked up again, focusing on the screen’s readings. Such a violent strike against the ship’s defences could have easily created a number of problems, scenarios of which were already whirring at a dizzying pace through Brainy’s mind.
What he found on those screens was far worse than anything he could have calculated.
The Phantom was still present and accounted for, the feedback from the cells confirmed as much. And yet… something was wrong. So very, very wrong.
The Phantom’s Q-wave activity had all but evaporated.
Brainy frowned, reaching for the foreign make-up of J’onn’s controls, quickly mastering the Martian design as he linked with the ship’s mainframe. Perhaps the knock to the ship had caused a communication error with the Phantom’s psionic feedback.
But, after only a few seconds within the ship’s network, Brainy was able to determine that the connection was still well intact. In fact, there were no underlying errors presenting themselves anywhere within the ship. Instead, it appeared that the Q waves had simply vanished.
Which could only mean one thing.
“No, nononono,” Brainy muttered to himself, pressing aggressively at the panel. “This can’t be right. This-” He pushed back in his chair, running a hand through his hair. “The Phantom. It lost Supergirl’s scent.”
Brainy only realised he’d announced that to the room when he heard uneasy murmurs begin to circulate behind him. Quick to abandon J’onn’s safety measures, his friends moved from their designated seats, swarming around Brainy’s screen.
“What do you mean?” Alex asked tightly. Brainy envisioned she was stood closest to him, an assumption that was quickly verified when her hand clenched around the back of his chair. “How is that possible?”
“It’s not,” Lena said darkly. “The Phantom’s a superpowered bloodhound, it wouldn’t give up- not unless…”
“Unless…” Brainy echoed, his throat closing up before he could say anything else. His vision was already spiralling. Vertigo swept over him as he drank in every implication of Lena’s unfinished sentence.
“Unless what?” Alex demanded.
“What’s going on?” Nia asked.
Even with everyone thinking the same question, Brainy couldn’t bring himself to say the answer out loud. Instead, he watched abjectly as the symbol of El Mayarah extinguished from the screen, taking with it the inkling of hope he had been holding onto from the moment Kara had been lost to the Phantom Zone portal.
He shook his head, driving his hands back over the controls. “No,” he said forcefully. “It could be a false reading, we should- we should keep going.” His eyes cut across the co-ordinates the screen was displaying in the absence of Supergirl’s insignia - the last known location of Kara Zor-El.
They were close, so close that the Phantom’s Q-waves weren’t necessary to put together the unaccounted distance. The ship was already scanning the area below, picking up on signs of life… signs of…
Of a body. Humanoid. Kryptonian.
With an internal temperature of…
No.
“She’s…”
Brainy’s chest stuttered, catching harshly as the beacon of light that had paved the path for his whole life suddenly went out.
“I can drop the sun bomb,” Lena said frantically, her voice barely passing through the static ringing loudly in his ears. “Maybe that’ll give her the strength she needs to…”
But, Brainy could only stare at the screen. Kara’s internal body temperature wasn’t just low… it was ice cold. And, as the ship’s calculations manifested for everyone to see, something inside of Brainy’s chest caved in on itself.
Kara wasn’t just dead. She’d been dead for… for…
For weeks.
Brainy couldn’t breathe.
He’d been using Kara’s inspiration, her passion and her optimism even in the darkest tunnels as his anchor. All this time. He’d used hope, her hope in an effort to bring her home unscathed. Because no other option would have sufficed; she had to be okay.
Because, if she was gone… then he was surely the cause.
If not for him, she would have never ended up in the Phantom Zone to begin with. If he hadn’t bottled Leviathan, if he hadn’t lied to them all, none of this would be happening.
Brainy’s vision blurred, washing away the readings as tears flooded to the surface. All of this… all of this had been for nought. All those weeks they had spent hoping, and for what? For what?
There had never been a reason to hope at all. They had been kidding themselves, all of them, to assume Kara would have survived entry into the Phantom Zone. That she hadn’t been cast there from a portal miles in the sky, falling at terminal velocity, unable to fly to safety. With no yellow sun, she had been without power, without protection. Something as simple as a broken bone would have been a death sentence in a hellscape like the Phantom Zone.
Brainy’s lips were numb. A crushing weight felt as though it was overpowering his lungs, sucking the air from within. His head throbbed with sudden pressure, a motley of untameable thoughts clawing viciously for freedom.
Something burned deep inside his chest, a pain so profound that he thought he was going to be sick. Was this what heartbreak felt like…? As though your heart was actually breaking? Snapping in two with the fragility of glass?
Brainy gasped out, clawing at his centre as he finally managed to rake in a single breath. It felt like swallowing a mouthful of razor blades, tearing at his innards as it sought passage through his lungs.
The pressure in his head mounted even further, clamouring loudly in his ears. His tears felt like acid in his eyes, but he couldn’t make them fall. Instead, he remained blind to the world. Blind to everything.
And yet, something still pressed him far at the back of his mind.
A tiny voice whispering that it couldn’t be real. It couldn’t be real.
…Was it?
Was it real?
Where was his focus? Brainy struggled through another breath, trying desperately to blink away his tears. The pain ate at him, so poignant he could barely function, but he was meant to… to focus, yes? That had been the point. To… to compartmentalise. To…
To focus on what was real.
But it felt real. The despondency that welled inside his chest, the fire in his head, scorching him every time he imagined Kara, lifeless and alone on the cold terrain below. He felt it, all of it, and he couldn’t bear it.
“Why should you have to?”
Brainy’s head jerked up instinctively, glancing about himself as he sniffed hard, turning in his chair.
His friends were no longer present, but he was not alone.
Humanoid forms took residency at the centre of the ship’s control room. They stood stolidly, arms clasped in front of them, heads bowed low.
Among the static shapes, whispers began to permeate.
Brainy blinked quickly, wiping at his face as he forced himself from his chair, grabbing its back when his legs threatened to buckle. He weighed himself against it, heart thundering in his head, but it was not enough to drown out the voices suddenly invading his mind, breaking free from the boxes he’d built a long time ago.
They shouldn’t be… they couldn’t…
“Excessive emotional turmoil,” the same voice as before said, dripping with fake pity. “It’s truly remarkable what it can set loose.”
Brainy felt ill. “No. No, you can’t—you can’t!” His voice rang out around him, falling on deaf ears.
The voices only seemed to revel in his anguish. Brainy groaned out, clenching his hands around his head, curling in on himself as the whispers intensified.
He caught words within the ocean of sound, enticing murmurs, urging him to come forward, to step into the space still reserved for him. Even after all this time.
Alongside the insistent encouragement of his peers, the shapes in front of him began to take form. Some were green, most of them were green, but one stood out amongst the crowd. A blue skinned woman with red hair grinned wickedly at him, raising her hand in a partial salute.
Indigo?
Brainy’s eyes glanced desperately at the Coluans stood before him.
His blood, stretching back generations. His clan.
His ancestral memory come to life.
A strangled sound caught in Brainy’s throat as their voices pitched inside his mind. He couldn’t- he couldn’t pack them away. No box could patch the hole that had torn through his internal storage. His emotions were frenzied, wild and chaotic and he was… he could not tame them.
“What’s the matter, Querl?” Indigo asked playfully. “Cat got your tongue?”
Brainy shuddered involuntarily when he saw the claws that manifested along Indigo’s fingers. She grinned, snapping them aggressively towards him.
“That’s enough.”
Brainy already felt so drained, the new voice was nearly too much for him to bear. It was only a small comfort that the other whispers stilled at its presence, petering out to an almost manageable hum.
With everything so muddled already, Brainy hadn’t recognised her at first. He chastised himself immediately. How foolish of him not to assume that she would be here, somehow. The voice of reason that he had clung onto for so long, that he had followed blindly and passionately, because he’d believed that if he did… she might one day love him.
But, her eyes were just as cold as they always had been.
Brainiac 4 materialised at the centre of the room, batting Indigo aside as though she were nothing but a child. Indigo’s image shimmered as a result, but Brainy hardly paid it mind. The only person he could focus his energy on was the most dangerous in the room.
A woman he had once called mother.
He didn’t want to say that word again, and yet with all the hopelessness inside his heart, the emptiness that threatened to swallow him whole, he couldn’t help but cling to the image of Brainiac 4 as she walked towards him, reaching out her hand.
When her cold fingers brushed across his cheek, Brainy’s lips trembled, and the tears in his eyes finally began to fall.
Brainiac 4 reviewed his reaction inquisitively, her brow raised in question. “My boy,” she said, tucking her hand beneath his chin, enough to tip his watery gaze towards hers. “Why don’t you give up on these silly little pretences? Doesn’t it hurt to hold onto all of this pain?”
Join us.
The whisper that broke through what little resolve he had left sounded far more like Indigo’s than any other. It thrilled through his nerves, whispering scintillating invitations into his mind.
Brainy flinched from his mother’s hand, fingers clenching tightly against his palms.
She was right. It did hurt. Every fibre of his being ached with it. He wanted to let it out, wanted to discard it as Lena had taught him. Throw every feeling out into the open with a vicious cry. He wanted to collapse into a ball and never, ever come out.
But, he could do none of those things. Instead, he had to live with the guilt that ate into his heart, the heartbreak that would surely never heal. He had to stand there knowing what he had done, what he was responsible for.
That he would never, ever see her smile again.
The death of the future as he knew it. The death of Supergirl.
His family.
Brainy stirred at that thought. After all, who were his family?
He tore his gaze from his mother’s, long enough to turn about the room, seeking out the spaces that had been left blank. He hardly remembered who had been stood there before his ancestors had actualised. If he focused hard enough, he thought, perhaps, he could see echoes of people occupying that same space, but he saw no faces. Remembered no names.
Not real.
He couldn’t see them, and if he couldn’t see them then he most certainly could not touch them. Could not hear or smell them.
That decided it, then. It was simple, nearly too simple.
Whoever had existed before - they had been the lies. Echoes of another life, one that had never meant to be his. After all, his ancestors reached far beyond the five senses. They were an innate part of his very makeup as a Coluan. As a Brainiac.
And they had always been real.
Brainy’s chest spasmed as a sob nearly wracked him, more tears welling in his eyes. And… and he didn’t want to feel this way. It was nonsensical, to dwell on dreams, on nightmares. They only sought to make him weak. And a Brainiac was never weak.
His mother’s hands were solid when they took his shoulders, leaching the heat from his skin.
Her lips quirked with satisfaction. “You see it, don’t you? This simulation you have created for yourself is a destined failure. It is time to put your uninhibited mind to good use.” Her nails bit sharply into his flesh. “Join us. As you were destined to.”
Brainy nodded mutely. After all, why should he feel pain? What was the use of this frivolous emotion? What was the point in any of the good if it only meant feeling all this bad?
It would only weigh him down, which would not do. Indeed, he had a legacy to uphold.
Brainy’s eyes fluttered shut, finally letting the last of his mental barriers slip away with one long, cleansing exhale. The voices wasted no time, rushing in like an aggressive wave, swallowing him whole in seconds.
When Brainy opened his eyes, he felt no pain. No heartbreak.
Instead, he absconded from the needless weight of his emotional baggage, stepping forward into his mother’s waiting arms.
