(Yandere Shin Hati x reader)
[WARNINGS - Yandere, Stalking, Blood, Murder, Kidnapping, CNC, innocent reader, Dark Shin, fingering, claiming, strap-on sex, illusions to breeding, soft Shin… occasionally and only towards reader / Shin is just a baby with emotional regulation issues, how is she supposed to know how to confess her feelings? 🥺]
Here she was, Shin was sitting at her usual spot again, in a tree relaxing as she watched you reading on a bench like you always did on this specific day of the week at exactly the same time. You had a consistent routine, always, she knew this because for the past year she’s been watching you, protecting you from the shadows. You may ask, why? Why me? Well… it’s because of the time Shin was injured in the city, stumbling through the alleys until eventually she lost control of her limbs, stumbling straight into a person, you. At the time you caught her, Shin tried to shove you off, very aggressively, but after you just held her silently and shushed her while pressing against her wound to try to help, she softened internally. Your care made her feel weird, which was weird, she never felt things, but the way you guided her back to your place and silently helped her get bandaged and taken care of…. It made her heart flutter. She was so shocked, she never met a person that would just help her, show her kindness without a reason behind it, care and tenderness, empathy… that moment she silently swore she would protect you.
So after that day that she left and you never saw her again, she never really left you. She always stayed close, checking on you when she wasn’t on missions, always coming to check on you with any free time she had left, and even living right next to you in the apartments you stayed in, and yet you were so clueless and aloof, you never saw her, or mabye Shin was just good at hiding. Either way she always made sure to keep you safe. But now, it was getting late from where she sat, you must have gotten too lost in your book because you never broke routine. She watched as you finally startled from your book by a group of clearly drunken mercenary men, and it was getting dark, sending Shin straight into alert position, sitting up straighter with her eyes locked on you and the men coming closer, her hand on her saber, so ready to jump out and slaughter these men if they tried anything.
Shins internal desire to protect you only grew when she saw the men actually try to approach you with disgusting grins on their faces, making her jump down silently from the tree and start to stalk her way with a purpose towards you, her cloak swaying behind her jerking her saber out flashily as she strutted over, the looks on the men’s faces was priceless to her as she watched their faces twist with fear at the color of her saber, her head lowered slightly with her eyes dead locked on the leader, all of them panicking as you were oblivious as to why the men looked so startled and started to retreat. The smirk on Shins face died after the men finally left, now resting into concern as she put her saber away and actually approached you, there was no way she was going to let you walk home alone after such a close call. You needed her, mabye you didn’t see that, but she knew you did, you were so innocent, so clueless and helpless, you didn’t have any power or a saber, anything could happen to you, her voice soft as she appeared behind you, her voice still making you startle and jump, which softened her expression, “Those men must have really startled you, it’s alright.”
Shin tried to console you, she thought you were probably terrified after that encounter, but she was here and as long as she was, nothing would ever harm you. “It’s alright, Im Shin, I won’t hurt you, I just saw you alone and those men, I wanted to check on you to see if you were alright. Please let me walk you home.” She spoke out with a soft tone towards you, speaking to you like you were a child. You were more confused than anything, nobody hurt you, what was she talking about? But still you wanted to be polite to her, nodding with a shy smile, “Oh, um sure, thank you, Shin.” The smile that formed on Shin’s face when you said her name made you smile more, she had such a pretty smile as she stepped forward with her arm out to place on your back and guide you to walk with her.
You couldn’t help but blush slightly at her hand placement on your back that she never let up, it felt… possessive, like she was telling everyone else that you were with her. Shin felt so happy the whole way to your place, like this was were she was meant to be, at your side, with you by her side. That’s when she realized at your doorstep she didn’t want this to end, she didn’t wanna leave you or go back to having to stay hidden from you again. Mabye it was time, shoving her foot in the door before you could close it, stuttering out as she shoved the door open, stepping inside and closing the door, leaving you stunned with wide eyes, “Uh, Y-Yes?”
“I like you.” Shin just blurted out with a blank tone and stare, but she was nervous, clearing her throat as she looked around your apartment, sighing as she stepped forward. “I want you.” You were stunned and confused at this mysterious woman’s confession, frowning as you stepped back, “I-I don’t even know you, I’m- sorry, but-“ she cut you off, shaking her head with a smile, “No, you know me, and it’s okay though, you’ll get to know me better with time, but just know your mine.” She spoke with a deep rasp to her tone, stepping closer as she tried to meet you but you kept backing up, making her frown slightly, “Don’t- don’t back away from me… I’m not gonna hurt you- I would never.” She spoke out almost offended by the idea, and yet she was stalking closer, reaching for you but you tripped over a cord in your room, falling back and hitting your head, blacking out.
When you woke up, you didn’t know where you were, just that you weren’t at home, but you were in someone else’s bed being coddled, being held tight and close as fingers brushed through your hair with a kindness, a gentle-peaceful way until you woke completely and tried to sit up only to be tugged back down and shushed, “Hey, hey, stop it, you hurt yourself, I brought you home.” Shin spoke out with a concerned tone as she held you down to make sure you wouldn’t hurt yourself more, but you kept squirming resulting in her HAVING to straddle you, pinning your hands above your head, “S-Stop it!” She stuttered out, confused as to why you were fighting her, Mabye you were delirious?
“It’s okay- it’s okay!” Shin tried to calm you down as you fought like some child throwing a tantrum to get free, you started to cry because you were scared and felt overwhelmed and powerless, breaking Shin’s heart, she’s just trying to help you… “Hey… hey… stop, don’t cry.” She spoke out with a frown, wiping your tears before leaning down to kiss your cheek, “Your safe with me, but I need to protect you, it’s too dangerous for you to be alone.” She tried to reason with you, and you did eventually calm, which made her feel slightly better, sighing as she slowly let your hands go, brushing her thumb against your cheek as you stared up at her with an unreadable expression that she deciphered as attraction, so Shin leant down slowly and kissed you, making you freeze in shock.
You were very confused with her behavior, she was… odd, awkward, but also shy and timid too, you felt guilty to try to fight her because… well- she was adorable, but also kinda scary, but yet you knew if you tried to fight her, she’s stronger and your injured, and you were kinda scared to deny her advances, wanting to stay protected and cared for. Shin was happy that you didn’t fight her, all she wanted to do was show her love and affection to you, sighing out against your lips as she brushed her fingers through your hair, her free hand sliding down to your pants and slipping in, she wanted to take care of you, to show you she could pleasure and take care of you.
You gasped at the action, it stunned you, what was happening in general and then this, her fingers her slender, cold, but gentle as she slide them between your folds to find your clit, a happy smile crossing Shins face once you let out a whimper of surprise and pleasure, showing her she was doing something right in her eyes, she started to rub it in little circles while laying kisses against your lips which you slowly replicated, you thought you should at least try to enjoy this even though it wasn’t fully consensual at first, at least Shin seemed focused on your pleasure and she was being gentle and caring…
Shin was just so enamored with you right now, she felt so whole and content with you here with her, she admired her work, your head was bandaged from where she took care of you and now she was trying to distract you from the pain with pleasure, she smiled and kissed your cheek when you let out your first moan, god… she was doing such a good job! All she could think about was the future, slipping two fingers inside your tight wetness as her eyes fluttered shut and she started to thrust her fingers and curl to find your sweet spot, wanting to hear your adorable noises you let out as she thought about all the things you two would do together.
You were squirming and trembling from the pleasure as Shin laid kisses all over your body, sucking marks onto your neck as she let out whimpers and husky moans, twisting her wrist to pump her fingers deep in your soaked little cunt until she curled her fingers to find that sweet squishy spot inside you that made you squeal out and arch, your eyes squeezing shut and missing the look of sheer pleaure on Shin’s face as she smiled down at you with so much affection, moaning as she watched you and felt you clench around her fingers. “Thats it baby, oh good girl… yes, that’s it, that’s it, let go for me, let me feel you babygirl, trust me..” she husked out before kneeling down between your thighs to press kisses on your adorable little clit, her slender fingers digging into your thigh as she spread you open and thrusted her fingers deeper and faster while sucking on your clit, wild eager eyes flickering up to your expression for praise or clarification of your pleasure, watching you twist and squirm as you cried from how good it felt.
“Cum for me baby, come on, let me taste you…” Shin practically whimpered against your clit as she looked up at you desperately as you shook and tensed, cumming so sudden and intense, crying out loudly as you clenched around her fingers while she pushed them in deeper with nod, curling her fingers quick and violent to make sure you came as hard as you could. Shin gasped and copied your moans while nodding as she guided you through your orgasm, her body trembling too as her breathes got shaky, Shin’s eyes fluttering as she moaned and braced herself over you, blushing as her eyes widened at what just happened. She just came… without even touching herself, she just orgasmed from seeing you cum.
“Fuck baby… oh my god, your so perfect.” She whispered out shakily as you slowly went limp under her, the both of you shaky and panting heavily as she slowly slipped her fingers out of you, rubbing your thighs before she sat back and admired you for a few minutes while letting you calm. She thought about the next thing she really wanted to do, but she didn’t know if you could handle it right now. Ever since a few months ago when her infatuation got…. Sexual, she fantasized about fucking you, dominating you, taking care of you, breeding you, so she bought a fake cock, why not right? Tilting her head at you before she stood up to strip out of her clothes, you slowly opened your eyes after feeling her get up, only to have your eyes widen when she pulled down her black leather pants, revealing a generously long strap-on black cock.
Shin stood there almost shy for a moment, shifting as you stared at her, biting her lip with a blush, “This is okay, right, Have you had something of this size before?” She asked gently, silently hoping you’d say no. To be honest she hated the thought of anybody having touched you before her, but also the evidence of your cum mixed with a little blood only proved to her you were a virgin most likely, and now that she was staring down at the mess on her fingers did she get distracted, bringing her fingers to her face to smell, her eyes fluttering at the sweet smell before she sucked her fingers into her mouth with a sweet moan. “I-I haven’t.” You spoke out quietly, a little afraid of the length attached to her waist, Shin’s eyes snapping open with a smile immediately forming on her features as she stepped over and crawled back onto the bed, shaking her head, “That’s okay, baby, I’ll be gentle…”
You really couldn’t do anything else but nod, you already accepted the circumstances as a defense mechanism and just wanted to try to enjoy this and Shin was kind and gentle, so you felt surprisingly safe, “O-Okay.” You whimpered, making Shin coo and caress your cheek, “It’ll be okay… Y/N, I promise.” She spoke out gently as she leaned down to kiss you while slipping the tip of the strap-on between your legs, sliding the tip against your folds as she spread your legs more, gently easing the tip inside you, making you gasp and tense, causing her to still, “Shh, Shh, it’s okay, I know it hurts a little, just relax baby.” She tried to console you as you whimpered and shook with shaky breathes, nodding as you clung to her for stability, making Shin’s heart flutter as she wrapped her arms around you to cradle you close before she thrusted forward, making you let out a loud cry which she shushed before kissing you tenderly.
It hurt, for you it did, it felt like cramps, but worse, and it burned, your walls were throbbing and you were still sensitive, tears in your eyes as you had to adjust for a few minutes of Shin carefully breaking you in with gentle coos and praises as she tried to make it enjoyable by grinding against your clit with each thrust, but that just overstimulated you. Now Shin was just panting as she thrusted, her hands on your hips as she let out soft moans, “Your doing so well, my love…” she panted out as you shook and squirmed under her, feeling every inch of her cock pounding into your poor little pussy, you were wet, so it hurt less, but feeling yourself being filled repeatedly felt good and bad, but mostly good so soon you were able to get pleasure, and your more passionate moans only spurred Shin on, hammering her hips into yours with passion and stamina you didn’t know how she had, but that wild look in her eyes never ceased.
“Good. Fucking. Girl. Yess, yes!” She panted out between thrusts, practically growling as you shook with pleasure from how she was hitting your gspot, your orgasm was building fast until suddenly Shin pulled out, making you gasp, whimper, and shutter all at once, “S-Shin?” You whimpered before she shushed you with a kiss, “Baby it’s okay, turn over, here, let me help.” She smiled gently before rolling you over and picking up your hips, forcing you into a arch when she pressed her hand down on the middle of your back before she slipped her cock back inside you with a moan,
“Agh… oh… fuck, agh~” Shin gasped out at the angle, getting the perfect view of your pretty dripping pussy stretched and red around her cock as she slowly started to pump back inside your tight heat with a purpose, her free hand going to rub your clit which made you whine and bury your face in the pillows, causing Shin to smile and snap her hips into your ass before she brought her other hand to rub your ass, massaging it. “Your so pretty…” She panted out before gripping your hips to start to pound into you from behind, determined to make you scream with your next orgasm, biting her lip with focus as she stared down at you, husking out, “Now baby, your gonna cum on my cock, okay? And your gonna take it, because your my good girl, and when I cum in you, your gonna cry for me, okay?” She spoke out between thrusts with such a sweet-caring tone, conflicting her rough thrusts as she pounded her cock into your dripping pussy, making you choke on your moans as you whimpered and nodded, making her smile with pride, “Good girl, now cum for me.”
She ordered those words as soon as she felt it harder to thrust into your pretty cunt, she couldn’t help herself but to smack your ass which made you Yelp with a cry as your body tensed and shuttered, screaming out into the pillow in panic and pleasure as such a intense orgasm washed over you, you accidentally squirted all over her cock, her abs, the sheets, but Shin wasn’t mad at you for making a mess, no… she was ecstatic, thrilled, god it was so hot to her as she clicked the button on her strap-on to spurt her cum deep inside you, her loud moan ringing out through the room as she came with you, her gasps and shaky whimpers as she shuttered and collapsed against your back, holding you so tight as her thrusts finally ceased on your poor cunt, her voice shaky as she helped you lay down, her body laying on your back with her cock still buried in your cunt did she finally speak after minutes of recovery,
“I hope you know how much I love you… I’m gonna take care of you from now on, okay? Just… just promise me to stay… please… I don’t wanna be alone anymore.” She whimpered with wet tears as she nuzzled against your shoulder, you felt so broken hearing her cry so you did the only thing you could, nodded and spoke back quietly, “I won’t, Shin, I won’t leave you.” And those words smacked into Shin so hard, whimpering out in relief as she nodded and kissed your shoulder, snuggling you tight to keep you close and safe as you both drifted off together, now one.

Ever since seeing Shin in episode 1 of Ashoka, she has consumed all my thoughts..as well as my tik tok for you page
Here’s a quick little drabble.
18+, minors DNI!
Fem reader, possessive ideation, prey/hunter, mentions of toys, oral, teasing, & degrading comments
꧁••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••꧂
-shin would be the type to tease you at the worst possible moments, (middle of meetings, trainings, when you’re speaking with your master, etc)
-she’d start off slow; a quick caress of your thigh or lower back as she passed by you, maybe even a small yank of your hair, eliciting a small gasp on your end. Then from a distance, she’d take it up a notch and use a gentle force choke on you. Happening so quick you barely had time to process what had happened.
-you’d be a soaking mess and she’d get a kick out of you practically squirming in your seat.
-when she’d finally get you alone, shin would have your legs wrapped around her head as she licks, and sucks on your clit as if she’s starved. You’d look down and see that feral look in her eyes, knowing that she won’t be going easy on you either.
-she would edge you for a while too, running her tongue up and down your slit with barely any pressure. Maybe slide a finger in and as you writhe against her she’d abruptly stop, getting off on the whines and needy remarks you make. Her grip on your hips or thighs wouldn’t waver, gripping tighter when you try to run or push her head away. It would only egg her on.
-she may not talk much, but when she does she’s throwing demands or degrading comments your way. ‘𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞’, ‘𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜’, and they only get worse when she’s jealous. If she sees you talking with another woman for too long, once she gets you somewhere private, she’d be much more mouthy. Throwing taunts towards you such as; ‘𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐡? 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞 𝐣𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐭’, ‘𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐲 𝐬𝐥𝐮𝐭, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟, 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞’, ‘𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬. 𝐈𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝, 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥.’
-shes all about control, which means she’s primarily the top with you but may allow you to top her on the rare occasion.
-shin would edge you before leaving for a mission, wether it’s short or not, and leaves with a simple ‘𝐧𝐨 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠’. And she knew if you broke that one rule, she wouldn’t be gentle on you when she returns. Using every possible toy on you.
-denying your orgasm until she has you begging for release with tears in the corners of your eyes. She’d stare down at you as she held the vibrator to your clit, ripping it away the second she sensed your climax approaching.
-or she’d pull the strap from you, rubbing the tip against your clit, watching as you’d squirm and buck against it, trying to get any form of relief. Then she’d go and adjust the position so that you’re riding her. Her hands would be on your hips, getting the perfect rhythm just to stop and hold you steady. A small smile would form on her lips as she takes in your pleas, and lust filled eyes as you’re driven crazy by the constant edging and denial.
-and when she finally lets you cum, it’s intense. She’ll fuck you through it, praising you every so often as your body responds to her. ‘𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲’, ‘𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐦𝐞, 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲’, ‘𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐬𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬, 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐢 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐲’.
-when the two of you are on missions alone, during the limited free time you two would have, she’d hunt you like an animal. Giving you time to run off before she stalks you through the unknown territory. Watching from a distance as you get nervous, wondering where she is.
-shin would watch as you run, trying to find a place to hide from her. She would wait until you finally let your guard down to trap and catch you.
-next thing you’d know, your face is being pushed into a tree as she takes you from behind, wether it’s from her strap or her fingers. As much as you’d try to muffle your moans, shin doesn’t leave you in a position where you could cover your mouth. Not caring who or what’s nearby to hear you. She enjoys the fact that she may get caught pleasuring her lover.
꧁•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••꧂
Hope you guys enjoyed this one..I’ll be glad to write more smut about her😩

The darkness settled around you as you walked through the dense forest on the way back to Shin’s ship. Your steps felt heavy, and the silence weighed on you like a suffocating blanket. The only sound was the crunch of leaves underfoot, and it seemed as if the forest itself was holding its own breath. It was quiet, yet there was an underlying tension in the air. Shin trailed closely behind you, her presence a constant and protective shadow. It was clear that she was determined to keep you within her sights, her watchful eyes scanning the surroundings with a vigilance that ultimately sent a shiver down your spine. And though you were grateful for Shin's rescue, the closeness in the dark forest made you nervous. You had to admit that she was undoubtedly scary tonight, and you weren’t exactly sure if the pirates were much less dangerous than she was. The silence between the two of you felt heavy, and the sense of being followed closely by her unwavering gaze was both comforting and unsettling.
Curiously, you eventually turned around to check on Shin, and the sight that met your eyes made your heart skip a beat. There, in the dim moonlight filtering through the trees, you saw Shin with traces of dried blood staining her clothes and her skin. The fear that had gripped you began to ebb away, if only slightly. Shin still bore the traces of the battle; her expression remained solemn, and the intensity in her eyes hadn't faded. But she saved you. She protected you. And you were grateful.
Relief finally washed over you as the familiar silhouette of the vessel came into view. But your sense of security was short-lived as you approached and noticed the telltale signs of the fierce battle that had unfolded earlier. Scratches and scorch marks were littered along the ship's hull, clear evidence of the desperate struggle that had taken place when the pirates had captured you. And although you put up quite a fight, in the end, there were too many of them and only one of you.
"I’m sorry about your ship," you said, slowing down as you came closer to it.
Shin didn’t even stop to say a word. Instead, she lowered the ramp with a push of a button and walked right past you. With a heavy sigh, you accepted her silence as you followed her into the ship. The atmosphere inside was as cold and silent like the forest you had just left behind, and you couldn’t help but wonder what was going on in Shin’s head. You couldn't shake the nagging feeling that Shin was upset with you for getting captured by the pirates in the first place. It was a thought that gnawed at you, filling you with guilt and regret.
You watched as Shin took control of the ship's controls without uttering a single word. Her skilled hands moved with grace and precision, manipulating the ship's systems with ease. It responded to her commands, its engines humming to life as it lifted off the ground and gracefully ascended into the dark expanse of space. The silence between the two of you was palpable as the ship hovered in the void, the stars outside casting a soft glow over Shin's determined expression.
"What about your mission?" You asked, halfheartedly expecting to be met with another period of silence.
"I have what I came for."
Her tone was cold and firm, just as it usually was. With a small nod, you retreated to your small room on the ship. It was a modest space, just large enough for the essentials—a bed, a place to put your weapons and your clothes, the walls adorned with faded star charts and a few personal mementos. You sat on your bunk, lost in thought, replaying the events of the night over and over in your mind. The silence around you was stifling, broken only by the soft hum of the ship's systems.
But, your thoughts didn’t linger for long as a shiver ran down your spine and an eerie feeling washed over you. Without warning, you turned around quickly, and to your surprise, you found Shin standing silently in your doorway.
"For kriff’s sake, Shin," you breathed, meeting her eyes with both a sense of worry and shock.
Shin remained wordless, her gaze fixed on you with a look that held a multitude of unspoken emotions. It was as though she had something to say but chose to express it in silence, intensifying the tension in the room. Like she couldn't tear her eyes away from the person who had been absent for what felt like an eternity.
"I think we should get you cleaned up," you say softly, taking a careful step towards the light-haired woman.
You reached out carefully, your fingers lightly touching Shin's gloved hand, and offered a reassuring smile. To your relief, Shin didn't resist. Instead, she allowed you to guide her towards her room, which was slightly more spacious than your own. You gently guided Shin to sit on her bed, and she complied, her earlier intensity giving way to trust in your actions. She watched silently as you moved purposefully around the room, and before long, you returned with a wet rag and a small bowl of water. You stood before Shin, your eyes meeting hers with a reassuring look, as if to say that everything would be okay.
With utmost care, you began to gently clean the dried blood from Shin's face, dragging the wet rag against her skin softly. Shin sat patiently, her eyes never leaving yours. And you had to admit, you were nervous being this close to her, especially after what she had done. It was for you; you had to remind yourself. She did it for you. And you had to thank her somehow, at least.
After finishing cleaning her face, you set the rag down and began to move your hands to the hems of her bloodied robes. But with a strong grip closing tightly around your wrists, Shin stopped your movements, gazing at you with those intense eyes once again. She stood from the bed suddenly, her tall figure towering over you.
"S-Sorry," you started, squirming a little bit under her touch. "I know you can do it yourself; I-I just wanted to help—"
"Are you afraid?"
You blinked up at her sudden question, "N-No."
"You’re lying," she said, using your wrists to pull you closer. "I had to kill them... Anyone who hurts you. Anyone that touches you. They have to die. You have to understand that. I’ll kill anyone who lays a finger on you—even anyone that dares to look at you."
Her words sliced through the air like a blade. Her eyes, wide and crazed, bore into yours with an unsettling fervor, and a small, but twisted smile curled upon her lips. The weight of every word hung heavily in the room, and you trembled in fear, not just from the pirates but from the intensity of Shin's unwavering protectiveness. It was a declaration that revealed the depths of Shin's devotion for you, but it also left you uneasy about the darkness that lay within your savior.
"You’re mine," Shin continued, pulling you even closer until the front of your body pressed against her bloodied robes. "Do you understand? I’ll protect you forever... So, don’t be afraid."
Before you could respond, Shin leaned down, closing the distance between the two of you, and planted a rough, lingering kiss on your lips. Oh, she always wondered what those lips would taste like... But, as your lips met, you hesitated, confused by the uncertainty that filled your stomach. With a slight push, you gently but firmly distanced yourself from Shin, pushing lightly at her chest and breaking the kiss.
"Shin, we can’t," Your voice trembled as you spoke, avoiding her eyes in the process, "We shouldn’t…"
Instead, Shin ignored your words as her hand crept up to your jaw and pulled your face back towards her. The next kiss she pulls you into is suffocating and rougher than the last. Shin is far too impatient; far too greedy. With the thoughts of you submitting to her, forcing you to beg for her, making you moan and scream for her—it dirtied her brain in the most pleasurable way. She groaned against your mouth, her other hand traveling downward to palm your ass. There was no way she could’ve restrained herself if she knew that everything that came before would lead up to this very moment.
Her tongue delves into your mouth when you moan and squeezes the flesh of your hips, lapping up every bit of your taste. Shin greedily swallows your whimpers, muffled against her lips. But when your arms reach up to wrap around her neck, Shin nearly loses her composure and turns to grab you by the waist, lifting you up and throwing you onto her bed. You’d be lying if you said that her manhandling you wasn’t one of the most attractive things you’ve ever experienced.
The blonde’s mouth waters at the sight of you, laying there looking up at her with innocent and anxious eyes. You had her wrapped around your finger, and you didn’t even realize it. Shin brought her hand to her mouth as she stared at you, biting the fingertip of her glove and pulling it off, her eyes never leaving you. You propped yourself up on your elbows, watching as she tossed her heavy armor and her lightsaber down onto the floor like they were the last things she cared about. Her hands reach the hem of your shirt, pulling it over your hand before going lower to work on unbuckling your pants and pulling them down your legs. Then she hovers over you, placing a hand by your head to support her weight and the way you look up at her, with nothing but your underwear on, god, it makes her absolutely exasperated with desire.
Shin immediately drops her head down to lick, suck, and litter kisses along the skin of your neck, down to the valley of your breasts, marking your skin with bruises at every inch she can get her lips on. And when your hands started tugging on her bloodied robes, Shin grabbed your wrists and pinned hard them above your head with one hand.
"Stay still," she commanded you, her face hovering just centimeters over you with her eyes boring in to yours, as if they were saying that there would be consequences if you were to disobey her—and angering her was the last thing you wanted tonight.
In a swift motion, the blonde rips your bra right off of you, causing you to gasp at the sudden action. For a moment, Shin almost forgot how to breathe as she stared down at your breasts—oh, how soft and plush they looked, like they would fit perfectly in the palm of her hands. And they do. Your whimpers fall on her ears while she massages your breasts slowly and carefully, relishing in the feeling of how perfect they were. With an occasional pinch to your nipples, Shin can’t help but smirk when you tense up and your quiet moans go an octave higher. Unable to control herself any longer, her mouth finds it way to wrap around your nipples and sucks hard. Each second, your moans got louder and louder, and Shin decided she’d make you scream tonight. and by the stars, you looked so, so beautiful.
Shin eventually releases your nipples with a pop, traveling and littering kisses up your neck once again, right on top of all of the bruises she left for you. When she reaches your mouth, she wastes no time pressing a rough kiss against them, pushing her tongue past your lips with no warning. She swallows your moans once again before pulling away slowly, a string of saliva connecting together from your lips.
"Open your mouth," she says again in that commanding tone.
You don’t hesitate to follow her order, eagerly parting your lips immediately, only for her to slip two of her fingers in, pressing them against your wet tongue. A sigh falls from Shin’s mouth as you slurp and wrap your tongue around her digits. She pushed her fingers deeper into your mouth, losing her mind over the way you gagged around her fingers.
Shin smirks at the sight, "Good girl."
After a moment, she pulls her fingers out of your mouth, carefully inspecting how wet you had made them. She kisses you again, distracting you from the way her hand treads lower down your body until her fingers reach the hem of your panties. With her face pressed against your neck, breathing in your scent, Shin slips her hand underneath the fabric as the pads of her fingers prod at the flesh of your sex. A gasp escapes from your lips the moment she presses your clit on accident, dragging her digits through slick folds until she’s forcefully shoving them inside of you. Shin jaw drops at the feeling of your warmth wrapped around her long fingers as you throw your head back and moan, your neck straining against her face. The words Shin was planning to voice out die at her mouth before they could leave, getting lost in the feeling of your spongy walls.
The ship is filled with lewd sounds that fell from your mouth and the wet, squelching noises, and only the vast expanse of the stars outside of the window seemed to bear witness to all of this. And it drives her absolutely insane to know that she’s the only one who could hear this right now, floating in space inside her ship with just the two of you inside.
Shin’s eyes flashed with intensity as your moans got louder and louder each time she fucked her fingers into you. She had never been one to be gentle—it showed in her training and her daily routines. And despite her natural inclination towards aggression, Shin had made a conscious effort to temper herself around you. But, god, there was no way she could hold herself back anymore after this.
Pulling her head back, Shin watches you moan and writhe underneath her, throwing your head back each time she hits that sweet spot—a spot that she found in a matter of seconds, like it was second nature to her. It felt so fucking good; almost too good. And so she presses, and presses, and presses until you clench around her fingers and come right onto her hand. Your juices trail down her wrist, and it only takes a second to admire the way you shake and tremble after she’s given you one of the best orgasms of your life. But Shin goes right back into fucking you once more, all while her thumb circles over your clit, at a faster and harder pace than before, barely giving you any time to catch your breath. You scream and squirm underneath her, whining pathetically about how it’s too much for you to handle, but she only smirks and makes no effort to slow her movements, pulling orgasm after orgasm out of you. She was going to fucking ruin you.
“S-Shin, please,” you tried calling out to ask for a chance to catch your breath. Even when you try to push her hand away, Shin holds you down, and you’re stuck with feeling the overwhelming pleasure build up again and again. “T-Too much—”
"I told you to stay still," Shin says, completely in awe as she watches the overstimulation rack through your entire body.
Without even thinking, Shin wraps her hand around your neck and squeezes, your broken moans turning her on even more than before. She loses herself at the sight of your mouth agape as you gasp for breath. The way you moan her name nearly drives her to the edge. Your mind was numb from the pleasure, and your grip on her wrist loosens as you throw your head back in euphoria. She pumps and pumps and pumps her fingers into you over and over again, until she brings you to your high once more. Then she makes you come a third time, a fourth, a fifth, a sixth—you couldn’t even count anymore—up until you gush all over her hand for what seemed like the third time tonight.
And she’s all you can think about. Shin, Shin, Shin. She presses her mouth against yours once again, moaning against her lips as you try your best to calm down. Your body shakes against her own, quivering as Shin uses her other hand to palm your thighs soothingly. Your essence leaks all over her bed, her hands, and her pants and Shin thinks it’s perfect. She thinks you’re perfect—the prettiest thing she has ever laid her eyes on. Your body goes limp as soon as you come back down from your high, still trembling slightly as Shin slowly pulls her fingers out of you. For a while, she just stares at the way your wetness coats her fingers. You watch her lick a long stripe over her fingers, and the way she rolls her eyes back at the taste of you.
Before you could even form a singular thought, your eyelids fell closed, and it was almost like your brain melted away. Shin seemingly fucked every brain cell out of you, and you could barely even think anymore. She smiles when you pass out right in front of her. A part of her wishes that she went a little gentler on you; maybe then she’d get to fuck you for a little while longer. But she was too impatient. You laid in front of her on her bed like a gourmet meal served on a silver platter.
It was perfect. Shin was obsessed with you. She needed you more strongly than the word love could imply. And she was going to slaughter anyone who dared to take you away from her.

the injury of finally knowing you

Title from 'Unknown/Nth' by Hozier
*****
You’re frozen. Sabine is skewered on the end of a guttering orange lightsaber, her eyes wide in shock and pain, immobilised, and you’re frozen.
You’d heard her distress call, you and Ahsoka both, and had come as quickly as you could. You’d both drawn your sabers—the blue of yours with the white of your master’s lighting up the interior of the rattling ship—before Huyang had even opened the drop-doors. Ready to fight, ready for action.
And then Sabine’s assailant had turned in the headlights and you’d turned to stone.
It’s been years—years—and her hair is different, her frame taller and leaner, but you know those eyes. You’d know them anywhere.
“Shin.” You breathe, and you feel something you thought was dead reawaken in your chest.
She meets your eyes for a split-second, fear and anger and brief recognition flashing across her face, before she turns tail and runs.
She doesn’t look back.
*****
Once Sabine is stabilised in the medbay on Lothal, Ahsoka finds you.
“You knew her.” You look up from your hands. Your master leans against the door to Sabine’s room, staring at you with an unreadable expression. You hate it when she does that; it makes you feel scrutinised, like the Togruta is peeling back the layers of your skin, staring at your very essence.
“The mercenary.” She prompts after a moment of silence. You sigh. Though the conversation was almost certainly inevitable, you’d hoped it could wait until after Sabine was up and about again; she was a pain in the ass, but your best friend, and you’d always dealt with things better when she was around. Things, this time, being the sudden reappearance of a girl you’d thought was lost to you.
“I do. I used to, anyway.”
Ahsoka stays quiet but raises an eyebrow. Go on, she gestures.
“Back on Aris, my home planet—before I got out—Shin was…” you trail off. How do you even begin to describe what you and Shin were to each other? Barely teenagers, you’d found one another in the dusty underworld of your shithole of a planet. Both orphans, friendless, starving, you’d stuck together, first for convenience and necessity, and then, after trust was built and connection found, for companionship. She’d been your only light in the darkness of your life, and you the same for her.
My sunshine, that’s what she used to call you. With that achingly fond smile, the one that made your heart skip and your hands shake. She’d brush her hands against your cheek, brush lips against your temple, and then you’d share the food you’d both scavenged for the day, huddled together for warmth in some back alley or abandoned building.
What had you been to each other? Something undefined, something unable to be put into words. You’d sunk desperate teeth into one another, searching for survival, searching for a home neither of you had anymore. She stuck to the back of your teeth even now, over a decade later. How on earth could you compress what Shin had been to you into something understandable?
“Shin was my friend.” Is what you settle on, averting your eyes, swallowing harshly. “We hung around together when we were kids. Scavenged food, kept each other out of trouble.”
“What happened?” Your master asks and you wince at the memory of what came next.
“There was a man. Baylan, he said his name was. Came to us both one night saying he could…he could sense us. The Force, I mean.” You bring your hands together in your lap and take a breath, fighting to keep your voice steady. “He said he wanted to train us, to—to help us, and…”
You still remember the look on Shin’s face, how her eyes had glimmered as Baylan spoke of freedom, of power beyond your wildest dreams. You feel sick even now, just thinking of it.
“He offered to get us out. To take us with him, away from Aris. I…I didn’t trust him. He felt—dark. But Shin, she didn’t listen when I told her something was up with him.”
You had fought that night, your first and only fight. Shin was frustrated that you couldn’t see the opportunity Baylan was offering, and you were afraid. Afraid of what would become of you if you went with this stranger. Afraid of the girl you knew—the girl you loved—being changed into something she wasn’t. And so—
“Shin left. She went with Baylan, and I stayed on Aris for a few more years. Then, made my way to you. I never saw her again. Until last night.”
You’re trembling by the end of your story, and Ahsoka places a gentle hand on your shoulder. Heart clenching, you swallow back the lump in your throat. Pull it together.
“She had a padawan braid.” Sitting up, swiping a hand down your face, you focus up. Ahsoka nods.
“Which means she’s probably taking the map to her master—to Baylan.”
“We have to get it back, Master.”
“We do. We will.”
*****
The next time you see Shin, she tries to kill you.
Sabine and Ahsoka are occupied with the other one, with his full-face mask and spinning double-saber, leaving you to chase after her.
You call her name through the trees that seem to cover half the surface of Seatos, and when she stops running and turns to face you, there’s a wildness in her eyes that takes the breath from your lungs.
“Shin.” You say again, voice soft, panting from your race through the forest. Her jaw ticks at the sound of her name, hands clenched in fists by her sides. You take a step towards her, hoping for—you don’t even know what you were hoping for—and then her lightsaber ignites and comes swinging at you.
You manage to dodge her strike, heart cracking as you grab your own weapon and ignite the blue blade, not even getting a chance to decide if you really want to do this—if you really will fight her, the girl you once rested your head upon, who once called you sunshine with adoration in her eyes—before she’s attacking again, lightsaber arcing towards your head.
You catch the swing and hold it, grunting in effort as she bears down. Your faces are inches apart, lit by the glow of your weapons, and a warring plethora of emotions rage against your ribcage.
A part of you wants to step back, to sheath your blade and plead with her. You want to tell her you were wrong not to go with her, that she was wrong to leave—that no matter what, you should’ve stayed together, because she had been your only family for years and you had loved her and—fuck—you love her now, even still, after all this time.
But this is not the Shin you once knew. This girl, with snarling, snapping teeth and feral eyes, she is not the girl you once called home. She is changed, just as you feared she would be, and you sense that if you try to reason with her, she will simply run you through, just as she did Sabine.
So, you grit your teeth. Push back against her and send her stumbling back a step. And when you collide again, both of you have murder in your eyes.
The fighting is brutal and quick; Shin is clearly well-trained and you barely manage to parry her strikes, using all your energy to keep yourself in the battle. Your blades clash and hum angrily, lighting up the clearing as you charge each other.
You’re not sure you’d have survived if not for Ahsoka and Sabine taking out Shin’s accomplice. Your knees are close to buckling, arms shaking violently as Shin’s head whips around to see her masked partner dissolve in a burst of green smoke. Shock is evident on her face, lips parting and eyes widening, and she steps away from you. Your arms drop to your sides, breath escaping you in wheezes and coughs.
There’s a moment then, where you see the chance: her attention is drawn, she’s distracted; you could just kill her now, one clean slice, and be rid of her. But you know the way she haunts you—her memory has lingered for over a decade now, slicking your gums, nestling in your bones. Death would not keep her away.
Besides, some stupid part of you still has hope. Hope that, one day, she will smile at you again, call you sunshine in that lilting accent of hers, and you will finally come home to each other.
That day seems a long way off when she turns back to you, fury boiling over in her eyes, before throwing a smoke bomb at your feet and racing away.
*****
Ahsoka goes over the cliff, Sabine hands over the map to Baylan, and all in all, it could’ve gone better.
Now, you’re sitting in a holding cell—bare, apart from the solid metal ledge you suppose counts as a bed—with your hands bound and your head absolutely pounding, flying on a giant golden ring through hyperspace towards perhaps the one man with the power to restart the Empire. Outnumbered, outgunned, and fresh out of ideas. Fucking brilliant.
You’re leaning back with your eyes shut and your head on the cool metal of the cell, trying to alleviate your headache, when the door to your prison slides open with a hiss.
You don’t open your eyes. You can sense her now, feel her presence—both of you now being strong with the Force is probably to blame for that extra fun little sixth sense.
“What do you want?” You ask flatly. Defeated, exhausted and more than a little angry, you want to be left alone.
Shin doesn’t answer, but you hear her step into the room, the door sliding shut behind her.
You sigh and open your eyes, staring defiantly up at her as she lingers by the entrance. She’s watching you, eyes intense but also curious. Her lightsaber hangs from her belt, a visible threat, but you don’t feel anger coming from her like you did on Seatos. The air sizzles with unspoken words and thick tension.
“Y/N.” She finally speaks, and it feels like a relief to hear your name rounded by her voice after so many years. It seems to catch between her teeth though, uncertain, and you huff out a mirthless laugh.
“So you do remember me.”
“Of course I remember you.” She almost spits, that familiar fury bubbling under her tone, and you raise an eyebrow. You see her swallow, eyelids fluttering, reigning herself in.
“It’s been a while.” You remark, unsure of what to do. She has all the power here; you’re on her ship, shackled in her prison, weaponless, armourless, defenceless. Yet somehow you feel her wavering. She seems just as uncertain as you, just as…lost.
She inclines her head in agreement and takes a step forward, saying nothing. You keep quiet too, for no other reason than you simply do not know what to say. What can you say? To Shin, what can even be said? ‘You have changed and it scares me but somehow you still keep a piece of my heart’? ‘You left me and it damn near killed me, but god you’re so pretty it hurts’? No, you can say none of it, none of how you feel, so you stay silent.
“You’re a Jedi now.” She ventures after a while and you shrug.
“I guess. I’m not fully trained yet, plus Ahsoka isn’t technically a Jedi, so.”
Another stretch of silence.
“What’s it like?”
You cock your head in confusion. Shin looks smaller now, more vulnerable, and it baffles you. Angers you too. She has you locked up in here, comes to see you of her own free will after god knows how many years apart, just to..what? Make small talk? Fuck that.
“What’s it like? You left me, left me stranded on that hellhole without a second thought, tried to kill me and have taken me prisoner and you come here to ask what training to be a Jedi is like?” You say, venom in your tone, hands clenching into fists as rage climbs the ladder of your ribcage.
Shin starts towards you, eyebrows furrowing. Her mouth opens to reply but you cut her off, lost to the currents of your rising anger.
“We were supposed to stick together, Shin, that was how it worked. I needed you and you needed me and we survived together.” You rise from your seat, blood roaring in your ears, heart pounding as all the hurt, all the confusion and the pain and the anger comes flooding out of you.
“I told you not to go with him and you didn’t listen.” You take a step towards her. She is motionless, eyes stuck on you. “I told you not to leave me, and you did it anyway.” You’re getting louder, losing control. You’re barely a metre apart now, your chest heaving as she watches you.
You step into her personal space, inches apart.
“You told me we’d stay together no matter what and you fucking lied. You abandoned me.”
Shin, who has been silent throughout your little rant, finally reacts, mouth drawing into a thin line as you practically corner her against the wall.
“I didn’t abandon you.” She whispers, and her voice is hurt. It surprises you enough to suck in a quick breath, eyes darting about her face. “We were both supposed to go with Baylan. You were supposed to come too.”
It feels like your heart is crumbling to dust as you stare at her, realising the pain she’s in. You can see her clearly, can see the girl you knew hiding behind a hard mask of stoic indifference. She’s still there, just tucked away behind anger and hurt and suffering, and it feels like breathing for the first time to know it.
“Shin.” You breathe, wanting to reach for her but your hands are bound; wanting to run from her but the door is locked. All you can do is stare, try to convey everything you’re feeling with the weight you put on her name.
The moment is broken by the communications panel of her vambrace beeping loudly and insistently. You step back, dazed, blinking and trying to come back to yourself. Shin seems similarly disarmed, shaking her head and clearing her throat before looking down at the message. She furrows her brow. You want to ask her what’s wrong, want to ask her to stay. But you don’t get the chance. She taps a response out, the door to the cell opens, and she leaves without a word.
After she’s gone, the door closed behind her again, you slump back against the wall. Your mind is spinning, heart twisting itself into knots. You don’t know what you’re going to do now—Shin is technically the enemy, and her master killed your master, but she is also the girl you loved, the girl you love, and you feel light-headed with all the complications.
You slide to the ground, rest your head against your knees. You’re fucked and you know it.
*****
Peridea is beautiful, in its own deserted, haunting way. The Noti take you in, and Ezra is going home, Ahsoka is alive and Sabine seems to be making her own peace, and yet you remain restless.
It’s not just being stuck in an unreachable galaxy, far away from everything you’ve ever known, whilst a warlord capable of unspeakable evil speeds away to destroy all you worked to rebuild—though it’s certainly not helping.
Aside from that, you’re restless. And you know why.
You can still feel her.
After the fight, after Ahsoka offered her hand and Shin ran, you’d assumed that would be the last of it. She’d isolate herself on some remote corner of the planet and starve, and you’d finally find some measure of peace. But no.
She’s there—barely—but there all the same. At the edge of your awareness, tiptoeing on the borders of your consciousness. Her presence is hazy, cloudy, but undeniable. You don’t know if she’s a mile away or hundreds, but she’s there. Her confusion, her anger, her desperation…it’s all buzzing just out of reach, millimetres from your fingertips, and you’re not sure if you want to grasp for it or shove it away. You try both. Neither works.
The days roll on and you fall into a routine of sorts: you wake with the sun, spar with Sabine, help out with chores around camp; you meditate with Ahsoka, practice your lightsaber forms and sleep when the moon rises. All of it is permeated by that tickle in the back of your brain, that sense, her.
You know your friends notice the distance in your eyes—both Ahsoka and Sabine approach you separately to ask what’s bothering you, but you give them the same non-answer: ‘I’m just worried about home.’ You can tell neither of them believe you, but thankfully, neither of them push the issue.
You’re sure you’d have gone mildly insane with it, had she not shown up that night.
*****
The hand slapped over your mouth jolts you from a turbulent sleep, and your eyes widen in shock as you immediately begin to squirm, trying to throw your attacker off. It’s dark out, with only the stars lighting the sky, and your eyes haven’t adjusted yet, so you can’t see your assailant.
Panic rises in your chest, heart pounding as you try to yell, only for the sound to get muffled by the gloved fingers curling over your lips. You toss and turn, slapping at the arm of your attacker, trying to bite their fingers, kick them, claw them, anything.
“Shh, shh, stop it. It’s me, it’s me.” The person hisses, alarmed, and your body goes slack with a mixture of shock and relief.
“…Shin?” You whisper once the hand is removed from your mouth. You blink rapidly, and Shin’s face comes into focus above yours. Her eyes are wide and frantic, dirt smudged across her cheeks. She looks wild, looks skittish, and you can’t even begin to describe how you’re feeling.
“What the fuck are you doing here?!” Is what comes out of your mouth after you’ve composed yourself a little, sitting up quickly, narrowly avoiding headbutting her.
She shuffles backwards and her eyes dart to the ground, like she hadn’t expected the question. That pisses you off to no end—she fucking snuck into your camp in the dead of night, like some kind of predator, and now she has the audacity to look sheepish?!
“Seriously, Shin, start talking, or I swear to—”
“I didn’t know where else to go.”
Her voice is small, weak, and it’s just then that you notice the way her left arm is hanging, slack and limp, by her side. Blood covers her armour and sleeve, some dried and some still dripping, and immediately your brows furrow.
“What happened?” Your tone is low and concerned, and you reach for her hand without even thinking about it. She flinches away and you draw your hand back quick as lightning. You mutter an apology under your breath.
“Bandits. I tried to join them…to rule them, but they mutinied. I wasn’t quick enough. One of them got me with their sword.”
There’s pain in her voice now, and it’s clear to you that she’s struggling. She wouldn’t have come to you unless she really needed help.
Part of you wants to turn her away. Wants to tell her to get lost and to stay the hell away from you; there’s still a lot of unresolved tension between the two of you, with your history both old and recent. She’d abandoned you. She’d tried to kill you, for heaven’s sake.
But, looking into her eyes, you see that girl you knew on Aris. You see Shin, your Shin, and you know you can’t leave her like this. You sigh. Stand up and jut your chin towards the log settlement around the fire in the middle of camp.
“Come on, then.” You start walking, not waiting for her to follow. You start gathering the supplies you’ll need to clean and wrap her wound, and when you turn back around, you see Shin sat by the fire, warming her hands. It’s pitiful and endearing in equal amounts, and you shake your head to try and rid yourself of those soft-rounded thoughts.
Once you have everything you need, you take a seat next to her. Her eyes dart your way, a flicker of…something glimmering deep within them, but you can’t afford to overanalyse right now—not with how blood still drips from Shin’s fingers, how she has started to shiver.
“I need to touch you to help you.” You murmur, warning her, and she nods faintly in return, turning back to face the fire. The flames cast a warm glow over her cheeks, making her seem softer. That biting edge, that snarling fury you’ve come to know of her seems a distant memory as you begin to cut away her sleeve, being mindful not to nick her skin or graze the wound.
A quiet sigh of relief escapes your lips once you finally see the full extent of the wound; it’s a deep cut—you can see where the sword bit into her arm, swung likely with a fair amount of force—and it’s probably causing Shin a decent amount of pain, but it doesn’t look like it’ll cause lasting damage. It’ll almost definitely scar, but she’ll heal. She’ll be alright.
You’re not sure why that makes you feel so much quieter inside.
The process of cleaning her arm is methodical, relaxing. You lose yourself in it for a while. Silence settles over the two of you like a comfortable blanket, enveloping you in a world of your own, and you haven’t felt this peaceful since before Lothal.
Surprisingly, it’s Shin who speaks first. You’ve applied some bacta to the cut, wiped the blood and grime away, and you’re just waiting for her to bolt—the job finished, your services no longer required—when she opens her mouth.
“Baylan abandoned me.”
The words are measured, quiet, but you can hear the betrayal and the hurt seeping into her tone. You swallow, unsure of what to say, but she continues before you can start rambling.
“He said he could sense something here. A great power, greater than the witches. He told me to kill you, Sabine and Ezra, then join Thrawn. Then he was just…gone.”
Shin’s lower lip is trembling, eyes glazing over, and an ache of sympathy pangs in your chest. The bond between a Master and a Padawan is almost unbreakably strong—to have it shut off like that, cut so abruptly, must be agony. You felt a little of it when you thought Ahsoka was dead, and you know that if she actually were to perish, or, Makers forbid, abandon you, you would feel it like a knife through the heart.
“Shin, I—” You start, but she cuts you off, head turning to face you, and you see clearly the tear sliding down her cheek.
“He was like my father.” And there is rage now, undercutting her sorrow. “Why did he leave me?”
It’s a question you cannot answer. Yet she looks at you with such desperation, like you’re her anchor as she is tossed about by towering waves, that you wish so gravely that you could.
You don’t know what compels you then—she had flinched back when you tried before—but she looks so angry, so sad, so broken, that you reach for her. To your surprise, she meets you halfway, collapsing into your arms, burying her head in your shoulder. You wrap your arms around her, let her cry silent tears as your heart beats out of your chest.
Holding Shin, feeling her pressed up against you, is something you haven’t had in a very long time. It takes you back to a simpler time, to nights snuggled together for warmth; to blushing smiles and brushing hands and eyes that looked like home. It breaks open something you’d buried and tears of your own gather in the corners of your eyes.
She pulls away after what feels like seconds, like an eternity, and clears her throat, swiping harshly at her eyes. You feel cold almost immediately, the absence of her touch chilling your skin.
“Sorry.” She mutters gruffly and you shake your head, waving her off. The air between the two of you is changed now, somewhat awkward but still charged.
“What are you going to do now?” You venture to ask after a moment. It’s a valid question; after all, Thrawn and his ship are gone, Baylan is off on his mysterious quest and the bandits (whatever’s left of them) have made clear that Shin isn’t welcome with them. Her future seems highly uncertain.
“I don’t know.” She replies, shifting uncomfortably. Clearly she hadn’t thought about what came next after you’d patched her up. “I can’t go back to the bandits.”
“Yeah, no shit.” You murmur and she chuckles, a low sound from the back of her throat, and it brings a smile to your face. Quiet falls between the two of you again.
In the silence, in the gaps between your breaths, an idea starts to take root. It’s stupid and illogical and entirely driven by your nonsensical heart, but once it plants itself, it grows and grows and grows, until it covers every corner of your mind like ivy.
“You could…stay?” And it’s out of your mouth before you can catch it. Your own eyes widen in surprise at what you’ve just suggested; Shin is the enemy. She’s tried to kill you, had damn near killed Sabine, has hunted you and hurt you. There’s a darkness in her that almost scares you, and she is so far from the girl you once knew, but she isn’t at the same time. She’s Shin, feral and furious, but still Shin, all the same. You look in her eyes, and you still see home.
You lost her once. You won’t lose her again.
“With us, I mean.” You carry on, confidence seeping into your voice as you fall more in love with the idea. “Ahsoka already offered and the Noti would appreciate the extra help.”
Shin’s expression is unreadable. It almost throws you off, but you’ve convinced yourself of this now, and you won’t let her go unpersuaded.
“Stay? Why?” She asks, seeming genuinely curious, as if weighing her options.
“Because you have nowhere else to go. Because you’d have somewhere to sleep here, somewhere to feel safe. Because we have food and water.” You quiet your voice. “Because I’m asking you to.”
Her eyes meet yours at this last sentence, and you think you see something akin to hope blazing in their depths.
Your pulse is hammering as she looks at you. You’ve laid yourself bare, made yourself vulnerable, and your heart is in the palm of her hands. Should she so choose, she could crush it, turn it to bloody pulp between her fingers. The thought of it scares you. But not as much as the thought of her leaving again.
“You want me to stay?” She whispers, voice raw. Her body language is open, fully turned to face you, hands by her sides, eyes wide and searching. She looks, for a second, just as she did the night you first met: shaking, terrified but hopeful, wanting help, wanting a friend, wanting to put down the weight of the world and to just breathe.
The moment feels monumental; make or break. She has your heart in her hands, as you believe you might well have hers.
“I want you to stay.” You whisper back, and with her bashful nod, something inside you knits itself back together.
*****
Sabine is sceptical, to say the least.
Ok, she’s downright furious. Understandable, the rational part of you whispers as your friend draws her saber, she did try to kill her.
“Sabine, please, just listen.” You start, a hand out to placate your angry companion as she stares murderously at the woman standing behind you.
“What the fuck is she doing here.” She spits, eyes narrow and blazing. Ahsoka stands off to the side, arms crossed over her chest, expression unreadable. You sort of wish she’d intervene—after all, she had been the first to offer Shin a place with your group, surely this is what she wanted? But she remains impassive, watching on as you try to talk your best friend down from attacking the silver-haired mercenary.
“It’s ok, I promise. She won’t hurt any of us. Right, Shin?” You call over your shoulder, not taking your eyes off Sabine in case she tries to go for her.
“Right.” Her monotone voice decidedly does not fill you with confidence, and Sabine takes another step towards the two of you.
“Hey, hey, stop.” You raise your voice, panic seeping into your tone. “She’s alone. Baylan left her, the bandits attacked her. She has nowhere else to go.”
“So leave her to it then. Let her rot, what do you care?” Sabine snarls, and you feel Shin’s anger pulse. You try to project calmness into the air, trying to push it both ways between the two women on either side of you. You’re not sure it’s working. Ahsoka, for the love of everything that’s sacred, please step in.
“We have a history. You know this; I told you. Remember?”
It’s true. It had felt wrong to leave your friend out of the loop, so you’d sat her down on one of your first nights on Peridea and told her everything. Your past with Shin, how you’d survived together, and how she’d eventually left you. It doesn’t seemed to have changed anything about how Sabine feels about Shin, judging by the dangerous look in her eyes as she advances.
“I remember her stabbing me. I remember her trying to kill us all on multiple occasions. I remember that she’s the enemy, Y/N.”
“Sabine.” Ahsoka calls, stepping forward at last, and your shoulders lose a little of their tension. You heave a relieved breath, chancing a glance away from your friend towards Shin behind you. She meets your eyes, and behind the frantic gleam, you see her soften. She nods, almost imperceptibly, and you relax even further.
Sabine looks to her master, eyebrows furrowed.
“There is no such thing as enemy out here. On this planet, there can only be survival.” Ahsoka’s voice is level, easy. She speaks softly but firmly, and you nod along with her.
“But Master—”
“Sabine.” The Togruta arches an eyebrow, like a teacher admonishing a schoolchild, and Sabine falls silent. “Shin will have to gain our trust, this is true. But we will give her that opportunity.” She turns to you, and to Shin. “And should she fail—betray us or hurt us in any way—then, and only then, will we, as you say, ‘let her rot’. Is that clear?”
You wait with bated breath for Sabine’s response. Almost unconsciously, you take a step back, closer to Shin, ready to defend her should you need to.
After what feels like an eternity, Sabine sighs. Shakes her head.
“Crystal.” She murmurs, and a ghost of a smile dances on your lips.
*****
It takes a while, but eventually, Shin starts to settle in.
Ahsoka takes over from Baylan with her training—something that had taken a lot of convincing from both you and your master—and the Noti welcome her with open arms (they’re mostly just happy to have someone else to help with the constant moving, but it’s a win and you’ll take it). Sabine even stops trying to murder her with her eyes after a couple of days.
It’s actually pretty painless, the way she slots into your lives on Peridea. She spars with Ahsoka whilst you spar with Sabine, helps out with chores around camp with minimal complaining, goes hunting and returns with fresh kills for the Noti to cook and eat. She’s…calm. Calmer than you’ve ever seen her, come to think of it. Perhaps it’s something to do with community, or belonging, or any of that sentimental bullshit you think about when the stars come out.
Things between you and Shin are complicated, but also unbelievably simple. Simple, in the way that you trust each other (somehow, after everything). In the way that you go to each other when something is wrong, when you are happy, when you need peace. Gravity. Simple gravity, holding the two of you close, keeping you in each other’s orbit. She sleeps beside you at night, and you listen to her breath even out and fall asleep yourself.
She begins to open up more; about Baylan, about her time with him, her travels and fights and the life she’s lived apart from you. You sit around the fire in the evening, after everybody else has gone to bed, and watch the moon rise together. Sometimes, she rests her head on your shoulder, like she did when you were younger, and it makes your heart race every single time.
That’s why it’s complicated.
Complicated, because the more Shin grows comfortable, the more she softens and opens herself up, the more you start to realise just how deep your feelings for her go.
And it’s stupid. It’s absolutely idiotic, nonsensical and just downright dumb. You want to do silly things like hold her hand. You want to brush her hair out of her face after she spars, want to kiss her forehead and hold her at night, and it’s all so out of place. You’re on a graveyard planet, surviving day by day, uncertain whether your home has been destroyed by Thrawn and the Empire, and all you can think about is Shin. Her eyes. Her smile. Her stupid, kissable lips. Fuck, it’s disarming how much you want to kiss those lips.
You kick yourself for it internally, scold yourself every time you catch your thoughts wandering into dangerous territory, but what doesn’t help is the fact that you’re almost certain she feels the same.
It started small—you catching her staring just a little too long across the fire, her getting distracted when sparring with Ahsoka—and you almost hadn’t noticed it. But as the weeks pass and you all settle further into life on Peridea, it becomes more obvious.
A hand on your waist as she passes you. Toothy smiles you’re sure nobody else gets to see. Blushes when you compliment her fighting style or praise her for her contributions to the camp. All of it begins to add up, to the point where now you’re just dancing around each other, waiting for the other to make some kind of move.
It’s maddening. It’s exhilarating.
It is, apparently, glaringly obvious to those around you.
*****
“When are you two gonna stop eye-fucking and actually get together?”
You almost spit your mouthful of food out, eyes nearly bugging out of your head, as Sabine plops herself next to you by the fire. You cough, clearing your throat, before turning to her with incredulity written across your face.
“What?! What are you talking about?”
She gives you a look. A ‘come on, really?’ look. You don’t waver.
“Seriously? You and Shin. When are you gonna woman up and do something about the tension between the two of you?” You sputter and stammer, trying to string a sentence together to deny the truth. Sabine watches you with amusement.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Is what you finally manage to spit out, and she scoffs. You feel your cheeks turn pink and your mouth dries. Is it really that obvious?
“Bullshit. It’s impossible not to notice you two staring at each other, pining all the damn time. It’s annoying. Please do something about it, it’s making her testy. She almost cut my head off when I asked her to stop snoring the other day.”
So yeah, maybe Sabine and Shin have formed something of a friendship. Well, enough of a friendship where Sabine feels safe antagonising Shin without the fear of murder. It’s almost sweet.
You struggle for words, unable to fully explain just how much you want to do something about it, but also just how scared you are. Not just of rejection, but of ruining everything. You and Shin are just getting comfortable together again. She trusts you. Keeps you close again. You don’t wish to jeopardise that by acting on your feelings, no matter how much you want to. It could ruin things between you for good, could scare her away from the camp entirely. And then you’d be abandoned again, heartbroken, and you’re not sure you’d survive that a second time.
“I can’t, ‘bine. It’s just too complicated.”
Sabine snorts, and you’re offended for a full second before she explains herself.
“Is it though?” You tilt your head, confused. She sighs, shakes her head with a wry smile. Softens, a little. “She came back for you. She’s staying for you. We all know it’s not for me and my stellar company.” You chuckle a little at that, a fond smile tugging at the corners of your lips. “She feels the same way about you, you know. My advice? Don’t lose her again.”
Her words strike a chord, and you feel very, very stupid all of a sudden. You meet her eyes.
“Thanks, Sabine.”
“Anytime, Y/N. Now, please, for the love of the Makers, kiss her so I can sleep in safety once more.”
*****
The next day, you offer to spar with Shin.
It’s not something you’ve done since she joined the camp—Ahsoka had tried to make you, but you’d refused; unsure of whether it was a good idea, given your past. She had sparred with Ahsoka only, their skills in battle fairly evenly matched, whilst you had continued to work with Sabine.
But you know you need to do something, and you need to be alone with her, so when morning comes, you both ride out of camp to a little plateau you had found on a scouting trip.
The journey there is comfortably quiet. Even now, Shin is still a woman of few words, and you respect that. It’s nice, though. Being with her, not speaking. It’s comfortable. Peaceful.
When you arrive, you let your Howlers loose and begin to warm up. You feel nervous, jittery. You know it’s not from anticipation for the fight.
You watch Shin as she moves through some forms with her saber. It steals the breath from your lungs, so at one with her body is she. She is grace and savagery all in one, and you know right then that you’ll love her until your heart stops.
“Ready?” She eventually asks, rolling her shoulders into a fighting stance, and with your nod, you’re away.
Instantly, you see the improvements Ahsoka has made to her form. She fights just as fast she did when you’d clashed before Peridea, just as dangerous with a blade in her hand, but she is also more deliberate. More defensive. She’s precise and calculating and so, so beautiful.
Your lightsabers clash over and over, humming through the air and buzzing against one another, sizzling in the space between you. You’re panting, gritting your teeth, fighting with everything in you. You catch her swings and attack her back, but she’s just too fluid to pin down. You’re losing this, and you know it.
When she looks like this, though—eyes bright and cheeks flushed, teeth bared in a playful snarl—you can’t really find it in yourself to care.
Shin disarms you after nearly 5 minutes of sparring with a move you should’ve seen coming, and your lightsaber is sent flying out of your hands. Triumphant, she levels her blade under your chin, a Cheshire cat smile on her lips, and cocks her head to the side.
“I win.” She declares, smug and proud and blazing bright, and it’s all you can do not to fall to your knees in front of her.
“Yeah, you win.” You agree hoarsely, hands up to show your defeat, gazing at her from the other end of her orange blade with worship in your eyes.
Something shifts, then. On that plateau, with nobody else around for miles, you at the mercy of her blade, Shin seems to crumble. She shuts off her saber, throws it to the ground. Your eyes widen. Your heart races.
Shin throws herself into you and the both of you shatter.
The kiss is bruising, nearly painful in its intensity, and you grin into it like a madman. Shin’s hands are in your hair, on your face, your shoulders; pulling, scratching, digging in, touching you like she needs to prove you’re real. You reciprocate in kind, gripping her waist hard, pulling her so close there’s not an inch of space between you. It’s too much and not enough.
Heat floods your body when she bites down on your bottom lip, the iron taste of blood coating your mouth, and you groan, feeling like you could burst, like you could float away, like you could die in this moment and be forever immortalised by the moan she releases into your mouth, the way she scratches at your scalp, the blood smeared across both of your lips.
Her tongue breaches into your mouth, curling over the backs of your teeth, and the shiver that runs down your spine is involuntary, inevitable, indescribable. Your hands scrabble for purchase on her lower back as hers cup your face with antithetical tenderness. The stroke of her thumb over your cheek almost makes you want to cry—this is all you’ve wanted for months now, all you’ve wanted since you were teenagers on Aris, and it feels like finally coming home.
“Shin.” You breathe in between kisses, forehead resting against hers. She pulls back a little, just enough to look you in your eyes. She looks wild again, but in the best way: her hair is tousled, cheeks pink, eyes half-focused. You think you’d rather go blind than ever see anything other than her.
“Lie down.” You murmur, after having caught your breath. Her pupils, already blown, flash dangerously, and you can’t help but surge forward and press another heavy kiss to her lips.
You manage to manoeuvre yourselves down to the ground, Shin on her back, you hovering above her, one leg slotted between hers, arms holding you up beside her head.
She looks so pretty like this, you think, and screw it, you’re in this now, might as well tell her.
“You’re so pretty, Shin. So beautiful like this.” Your words elicit a low whimper from the woman below you, her hands reaching for you, tugging you down until she can connect your mouths again.
She kisses you hard, filthy; licking into your mouth like you’re her last meal, and you moan, wanting more, wanting everything. You disconnect your lips, and Shin’s whine of protest morphs into another whimper when you begin to trail open-mouthed kisses over her jaw and neck.
Red and purple marks rise in the wake of your tongue and teeth, sucking and biting hard enough for Shin to gasp and arch up into you, leaving bruises that will stay on her skin for days. Just the thought of it, of claiming her like this, is enough to have you nearly feral with need.
It’s not long before Shin’s moans turn desperate, the hands on your shoulders beginning to scrabble.
“Y/N.” She groans, tone pleading but frantic, like she’s not even sure what she’s asking for.
“Yeah?” You murmur, pulling away. The marks littering her throat make something dark inside of your roar proudly, and your mouth practically waters at the sight of her—needy, wanting, begging.
“Please.” She sighs, eyes wide and dark, and you couldn’t deny her even if you wanted to.
Between the two of you, you manage to tug her pants and underwear down her legs. If you’d been back at camp or on the ship, you’d have taken your time. Worked her up slowly, spent hours worshipping her body. But you’re out in the middle of nowhere, and Shin is practically halfway gone already, and you’d rather die than leave her hanging.
The first swipe of your fingers through her folds makes her gasp, makes you moan. She’s dripping, so riled up she’s soaked, and you feel a little light-headed, nearly overwhelmed.
“Fuck, Shin, you’re so wet.” You mutter, moving your fingers to her clit and starting to rub it in slow circles. She whines again, head falling back, mouth dropping open. You lower your mouth to her neck, biting another mark into her pulse point. She writhes underneath you, hips bucking, and you feel like you could come from this alone.
You keep your attention on her clit, not wanting to overwhelm her with anything too soon. You keep it relatively slow, occasionally pressing harder in order to draw out another of her pretty whimpers, or drawing back to hear her beg. Every so often, you press your lips to hers, kissing her softly, whispering praise and encouragement, telling her how beautiful she is, how well she’s doing.
It doesn’t take long for her thighs to start trembling around your hand—if she’s the same as you, she’s been worked up enough about this over the last few weeks to hold out much longer. Her moans take on a higher pitch, coming more frequently as her eyes clench shut. You keep your pace, circling her clit, pressing kisses to her neck.
“Let go, I’ve got you.” You murmur, when it’s evident she’s close, and she falls over the edge with a cry of your name. Her back arches off the ground, hands holding you tight as she shudders through it. You think stars would be jealous of her beauty in this moment.
She comes down slowly, breath evening out, and you pull your hand away once you’re sure it’s over. Her grey eyes open, hazy and soft, and you chuckle at the sight of her. Hair mussed, lips bitten-red, dazed look in her half-lidded eyes; she looks like the rest of your life.
“Hey.” You whisper, cupping her face. She grins lazily.
“Hey.” Shin murmurs back, reaching up to card through your hair with one hand. “You’re pretty good at that.”
You laugh, bury your face in her neck, blushing. She scratches gently at your scalp.
“I think I might love you.” You say quietly, waiting for the regret to hit you. It doesn’t.
“I think I might love you too.” She says back, easy as breathing, and you feel something loosen in your chest that had been wound tight for years. You smile. Press another kiss to her throat.
“Wanna show me?” You ask, cheesy and silly and lovesick. Shin laughs, and you hear eternity. She smiles down at you, presses a kiss to your forehead before rolling you onto your back. You look up at her, breath stolen by her beauty.
“I’ll show you.” She breathes, capturing your lips again, and you let yourself be lost in the wonder of her.

Chapter One - Sweet Long Nights
Chapter One - Sweet Long Nights
—-
The Empire had fallen only a few weeks ago. You and mother had been holed up in some small planet, some small shack, waiting, biding your time.
Your mother said she just needed a second to think. To figure out some sort of direction, something. There had to be something she could do, to restore the power that had been taken from her.
And in the darkness of the night, while the wind blows dirt and dust through the small holes, a voice calls to her.
Thrawn will bring the Empire back. Thrawn will bring your power back. If you can get to him.
—-
Before the world had shown you cruelty, you had never known it. You lived in a lavish home on a tropical planet, far away from any prying eyes. Most people didn’t even know you existed, the elusive whispers of Morgan Elsbeth’s daughter, always destined to remain shrouded in secrecy.
You had tutors to teach you the fine arts of the most important planets, the politics of the Empire, language and math- but the really important lessons, the true power, was reserved for your mother.
She taught you not only about power in terms of what it meant to everyone else- but what it meant to the two of you. Descended from the Nightsisters of Dathomir, you were called witches, sisters, ladies of pure darkness.
And over the years, the bright green energy that bursted from you hands turned to uncontrollable surges of power into something that felt like it was yours. Your power. Something only you could control.
Then, the Empire fell. All of your mother’s assets were stripped away, including your beautiful home, all of your tutors, and everything you had ever known.
Adjusting was the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do. And you did it, missing the comforts of home all the while. It was something inside of you, a gaping hole, pure darkness that you apparently rule over- but it really rules you over.
That same darkness is inside your mother.
You both want that life back. You both need that life back.
There are black holes inside of your chests, and they need to be filled and filled with power.
The pursuit of your old life has led you here.
The room is metal and dark, shackles twist around your arms. You sigh, trying to find a comfortable spot on the metal bench made into the wall, but you can’t.
You miss softness.
“Are you sure this guy is going to come?”
Your mother looks away from the still closed door and to you, remnants of a true mother-daughter relationship on her face.
She cares for you. She just cares for power more. But as long as you have the same goal- you are her and she is you. One in the same. Mother and daughter.
“Yes,” she says, simply, and it seems like there is no more room for argument. “He’s a mercenary. And I paid him well.”
You shoot her an unimpressed look, but in your heart, you know this is the best she can do.
Her composure softens ever so slightly.
“I know,” she says, almost motherly, almost comforting. “I know it’s hard. But the path to power is a hard one, my daughter. We wouldn’t have come this far if we weren’t truly made for it.”
You smile, awkwardly, an acknowledgment of her words, and her lips press together tight, returning the awkward grimace.
The minutes pass by in silence, and you mother stares at her hands in her lap, shackled, and you stare at your own. You flex your fingers. No green sparks from your fingertips.
“Fucking weird-ass rocks,” you mutter, tempted to bang your hands into the wall over and over again until the power-dampening shackles snap off. You doubt they will, but who will blame you for trying?
You heard stories from your nanny’s when you were younger- one of them even descended from the Nightsisters as well. Her bloodline was much younger, much weaker, but she could still entertain you with small tricks and stories she had heard.
She told you that without their power, Nightsisters fell into madness. They would rake their hands down their face, rip their hair out. Away from their home planet, from the magic in the ground, they would slowly lose themselves.
Your mother had prevented that.
After the massacre of the Nightsisters, her and a few others had done powerful magick that you couldn’t even dream of. They had taken ichor from the planet, condensed it, and cut open their chests to rest the stone inside their rib cages.
You had been cut open while you were still a baby, but the stone still rested inside of you.
You look back up towards the closed door. You look towards your mother. And you look up towards the sky and say a prayer to the Winged Goddess.
Then, you can hear something. It’s faint. But it’s the sound of bodies falling, a lightsaber swishing through the air.
The sounds grow louder, accompanied by guns, bullets, one after another. Your mother remains apathetic, a blank, waiting look on her face. She says she isn’t capable of looking into the future- but you often wonder if somehow she is.
You take your seat next to her, shifting anxiously, trying to look as neutral as your mother.
The lock clicks, and the door opens, retracting upwards.
A man waits in the doorway, illuminated by the bright white hallways, dressed in all black. He reaches up and pulls down his hood, revealing a pale face and a full, gray beard.
Your mother stands up, holding out her chained arms.
He points, gestures, and they snap off. You watch your mother rub her wrists, before she turns to you.
You snap out of your amazement.
You lock eyes with the man before you, and he does the same thing, and your shackles fall off. Immediately, you can feel it under your skin. The power. The one from your ribs, passed down through the Nightsisters.
“Baylan, you are true to your word,” you mother commends, the highest compliment she could ever give.
He nods his head slightly. “And well paid for it, Lady Morgan.”
He reaches his hand out, and you stand, rolling your wrists, flexing your fingers, tempted to let green sparks jump out.
Your mother steps forward, and he helps her step over the threshold, then takes your hand and helps you step over it as well.
“Lady Y/N,” he says, and you don’t dare say thank you- because your mother didn’t. And she never would.
She walks briskly, and you find your way next to her, Baylan quick behind the two of you.
“The Jedi who captured me seeks the map.”
Your mother had only basically explained what the map was, how it will lead you to Thrawn, the other galaxy he is mysteriously trapped in. You know it was enough to imprison you over.
“She knows about Thrawn.”
“Who is this Jedi?” Baylan asks, a bit of arrogance creeping into his voice- he is better than whoever, surely. You’ve heard her name a hundred times before. Your mother cursed it when they locked you up.
She looks at you.
“Ahsoka Tano,” you hiss, sparks crackling at the ends of your fingertips. An enemy of your mother is an enemy of yours.
—-
The three of you board the ship in the dock, and as Baylan sits in the captains seat, you expect him to close the doors and take off. Your mother next to him, you behind her, an empty seat next to you.
But he doesn’t. He waits, until you get bored and anxious to get off this ship.
“What are we waiting for?”
He doesn’t look at you. Your mother taps her fingers against her seat.
“My apprentice.”
Footsteps echo up the ramp, and you turn around in your seat, only to find a girl, about your age, with chin length light blonde hair, and a spot of blood on her cheek.
Her eyes meet yours. She stops and stares at you, and all you can do is stare into her bright blue eyes, wide and rimmed with black makeup.
You’ve had lovers before. Weak humans with no powers, just servants in your home or the neighboring ones. But the lightsaber on her hip makes your heart skip a beat. She makes your heart skip a beat, and you stomach flip, and you can’t even feel stupid for the feelings in your body.
She nods, sitting down next to you, and you look her up and down, her armor, the spot of blood on her chin, the small braid resting on her shoulder.
The doors click up, and you can’t take your eyes away from the blood on her cheek. Finally, she looks back at you as the ship lifts up, seemingly a little confused and offended, glaring right at you.
“You have blood on your cheek.”
She looks down and wipes her cheek with her hand, smearing it, and she looks at the blood on her palm.
“Hm,” she says, no expression on her face, and you smile.
—-
That night, on your own ship, your mother asleep in the room next to you, you stare at the ceiling and think of your blonde savior. And you think about the way that if you focused, you could hear her heart speed up as she looked at you, and you could see her pupils dilate.
It’s a sweet long night thinking of her.

The Girl You Once Knew
Tumblr media
Summary: You find the girl you once knew after years of forgetting
FEM-READER X SHIN HATI
Requested
Warnings: Slight cursing, mentions of s*uicide, Star Wars violence, slight smut, some praising, knee riding (R receiving)
Y/ls/c: Your lightsaber color
Y/h/c: Your hair color
Y/s/c: Your skin color
~~~~~~~~~
You don’t know how long it has been since you’ve seen her, nor do you know where she’s been.
Sabine had been attacked and you weren’t there to see it and help, you were hanging out with Hera and her son Jacen.
Ahsoka had contacted you to hurry to Lothal ASAP since Sabine was in a troubled state. You waisted no time to hurry into your ship and fly to Lothal. You and Sabine were very close best friends, you were never apart of the rebels because you were always with Ahsoka, since you’re her padawan.
Ahsoka was very ennobled to have you by her side, she found you stranded on Aris. You told her you were kidnapped years ago but was never found and never found a way off the planet. Ahsoka was astounded to see you alive, though we’re you close to starvation. She sensed something in you, the force was strong in you, she nearly recognized it’s power.
Later that day, the day you we’re supposed to be watching Heras son but found yourself in a medical room on Lothal, standing in front of your best friend. Sabine had been struck in the torso by a lightsaber, Huyang had told you.
You asked Ahsoka and Huyang who attacked Sabine, they said the person was a girl with blonde hair and feral eyes, a orange lightsaber was held in hand, she had a brawny stance. You also asked Ahsoka of her eye color, she said she didn’t get a good enough look to tell, since it was dark.
Now, you sat in a chair, face in hands and overthinking if it was really her…
“You’re overthinking again young one,” Huyang spoke up. “Mhm,” you hummed.
“You should get some rest, you’ve just been sitting there staring off into the palm of your hands.” You looked up with a glare.
“Y/n, tell me what’s wrong.” Ahsoka provoked. You sighed, not wanting to tell your master why the bother.
“Y/n.”
“I’m just worried about Sabine is all.”
Ahsoka wasn’t convinced but she didn’t push it. She waited for you to speak first. “Fine, I-I think I know who the person that attacked Sabine.”
“Go on.” Ahsoka nodded.
“The way you described her is different but- I still know it’s her, I sensed her in the force on my way here.” You paused, “her name was Shin, Shin Hati. She was a um…”
A friend? A Best friend? A Home? A Lover…?
She was your only hope when you were younger. Living Surviving on the stranded planet Aris with Shin. You found home and love in her, she was your ‘safe place’ you called her. She called you ‘My light’, you were the light to her dark. It seems cliché but it really had meaning between you two.
After years of surviving together, Shin was taken away from you. Well, I wouldn’t put it that way, Shin left you for power. A man named Baylan came along one evening, he said he sensed something in both you and Shin.
The Force.
You didn’t trust him, he seemed off.
Like there was a dark portal surrounding him, you felt like a black mass was wafting over you. You didn’t feel safe then, you definitely didn’t feel safe when Shin trusted him.
You convinced Shin to stay, to not leave you. But she marked her words.
“If you won’t go, I will.” And with that she left.
“Uhm…a friend, we were very close. We both were stranded on Aris, we built a home in each other. Until a man took her away.” Tears filled up in your eyes, it may have been years but it still damn hurts.
“A man?” Huyang wondered.
“Yeah, he was tall with a bushy beard. He had a hooded cloak covering his shadow. He took her away from me, he took…my Shin.”
Then the tears dropped.
You tensed when Ahsoka put a hand on your shoulder. “We will find her, and we’ll find the map on our journey too.” You relaxed at those words.
“W-what if we don’t find her? Or the map?” “No what if’s, that will slow you down more my padawan.”
Ahsoka was right. The more you overthink It would just bring you down. Ahsoka knew when you’d overthink how you would always give up since that’s how you grew up, doubting yourself.
That’s why you and Sabine got a long, both of you would end up giving up and talk to each other about it.
Ahsoka knew better from you, she knows how you’ll always put up a challenge only to break and forget.
You always think you are a failure to her but all she says is; “There is no such thing as failure”
You can’t help but deny her words.
As you were waiting for Sabine to get ready after she was healed more, all you could think were the possibilities of you encountering Shin. And how you think she’ll hate you for not joining her.
“Shin will be okay Y/n. There’s no need to fear.”Ahsoka spoke wisely, and all you could do was nod.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
You stumbled upon Shin for the first time in years. Ahsoka, Huyang, Sabine and you found Shin and her master, along with a witch named Morgan Elsbeth.
You’ve heard the name before, Hera had mentioned her. You haven’t been sure of what power witches had, but you’ve been told in stories that the witches held great power.
Ahsoka and Sabine were fighting off some inquisitor while you chased after Shin into the woods of SEATOS, the Denab system.
You rushed pass the blood colored trees, desperate to find the one you loved before.
Your so called ‘home’
“Shin! Wait! Please! I just want to talk!” Shin came to a stop, hearing your voice.
“Y/n?” She turned around, facing you. Fear and confusion in her eyes.
“Yes, yes it’s me! Shin! It’s Y/n your light.” You stepped closer but Shin tensed back.
“You don’t have to run or hide anymore. I’m here, I’m here to take you home.” You reached a hand out, but Shin sneered.
Her lightsaber ignited, the bright orange beaming off her perfect ocean eyes. The eyes that were now filled with fury and dread.
The couldn’t help but cry on the inside.
Is this really Shin? The Shin you’ve been looking for, for years? Is this really what you called home?
All there is was wrath and pain…
Shin always had anger issues, but this was different. Evil was over her body, covering the sweet blonde you knew and loved.
“Shin- y-you don’t have to do this!” “Yes! Yes I do! It’s to keep you safe!”
Shin attacked first, her arms swinging at you. Luckily your body had time to react and you grabbed your two y/ls/c lightsabers. You blocked just before your face was slashed, a loud clash when the three lightsabers made in contact with each other.
You didn’t want to fight her, you definitely didn’t want to harm her in any way. You wanted her to join you, leave Baylan and the dark side.
The fight between you and Shin was tough, she was incredibly powerful to your surprise.
Shin has managed to get you on your knees, as her lightsaber was pointed at you. You felt weak, maybe if she killed you right then and there you wouldn’t have to worry about anything anymore.
You gave her pleading eyes, Shin knew what you wanted but instead she swung her foot around and it made contact with your head, making you get knocked out right there.
~~~~~~~~~
Your vision was blurry, a raging headache was the only thing you could feel other than the pain on your left cheek.
You looked up from the metal floor, to seeing a tall blonde in the way of your exit.
You scoffed, “heh, watching me sleep now too eh? Creepy.”
“I wasn’t watching you sleep.”
Oh that voice, that voice made you feel butterflies. That deep tone made you wanna beg for her to just talk.
“Sure.”
Shin looked at you, watching your every movement from the cell door as you stepped up slowly. You noticed you were in a cell, the dark chambered walls. To your assumption you were on her ship.
“What do you want?” You leaned against the wall.
“Answers.”
“Pft, same. But blondie here doesn’t seem to like to answer.”
Shin glared at you.
Even her glaring was sexy-
“How are you alive? Last time I remembered you died of starvation on Aris,” Shin ignored your comment.
You didn’t want to answer her, but you also had questions lots of them.
“Ahsoka found me, she had a mission on Aris and- happened to find me. Under a rock….literally.” You tried for some humor, but Shin didn’t even smile.
How you missed that, that sweet smirk
“Hm.” She hummed. “How long have you been training with Commander Tano?”
She was joking right? She kidnapped you to only ask how you weren’t dead and how your miserable life is going?
“Can’t believe you knocked me out and kidnapped me just to ask me about my training. I thought our fight would give you a hint.” You snarked.
“We’ll it seems you haven’t been training long, despite the fact that I beat you.”
You rolled your eyes.
It was silent for a bit, all you could do was stare into Shin’s eyes, waiting for her to say something like an apology for leaving or an ‘I miss you’. But there was silence until she turned away with a small glance, the patter of her feet against the ground then leaving you in the cold cell.
You sighed, the woman you loved left again.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Sabine and you had escaped Morgan’s grasp and found Ahsoka again. You had thought she was dead, when Sabine had told you she died.
It scared the shit out of you. But thankfully she was okay.
You guys located Ezra, Sabines long time friend. He lived with the Noti on Peridea.
Sabine was happy to see him again. You didn’t really know who Ezra was, Sabine had only talked about him a few times.
When you found him it wasn’t long after Shin and her troopers found you. Ahsoka was after Morgan so it was up to the three of you to watch Shin and find Baylan.
After a while of fighting Shin, she lost her army and fled like a coward.
You were sure she wasn’t afraid of losing, she was afraid to hurt you.
You could sense the regret in her, it was very tiny but easy for you to sense. You knew if you asked her she would immediately decline and say she hates you, which is completely un-true.
Hours went on and you didn’t see Shin again or Baylan. You and Ahsoka fought Morgan and stormtroopers as Sabine helped Ezra into Thrawns ship before he’d escape.
With Sabines help of the force he made it, but you and Ahsoka were struggling to fight Morgan and we’re close to losing if it weren’t for Sabine.
Ezra understood that Sabine had to leave him for the two of you, the three of you hoped he found a way off Thrawns ship and to fly to Hera and warn the New Republic about Thrawn.
~~~~~~~
Morgan was dead. Ahsoka took one final strike and slayed her. (Lol slayed)
Stranded, you three were. Safe with the Noti you decided to stay with them and help them until help arrived and when Ashoka’s ship was fixed (since it was damaged during the flight to Peridea.)
It was nice living with the Noti, they were interesting creatures and the fact they were one of the only species on the planet besides the Howlers and Bandits.
You haven’t encountered the Bandits in a while thankfully, cause Baylan and Shin used them against you to kill you.
Speaking of Baylan and Shin, you assumed they were left stranded by Thrawn, there was no sight of them at the death of Morgan Elsbeth.
Everyday you couldn’t help but worry about her. Day and Night. During the day there was chores, training, hunting, food then sleep. You stayed up a bit later until the stars came out, waiting on top of a hill for Shin. Anxious for her to come home.
Ahsoka and Sabine had asked you if you were okay, sensing the worry in you.
Every time they’d ask your excuse was ‘worried about home’ or ‘anxious about the bandits’.
Neither of them believed you but didn’t push you to tell them the truth.
However, little did you know an angry lone wolf was wishing for you too.
~~~~~~~~~~
You were out hunting, alone this time. Usually Sabine and you would go together but you wanted to go out on your own, not just to look for food but to find her.
Walking past a small river where fish lived, you sat down in front of the water looking in the reflection of it, seeing yourself. Your (Y/h/c) was ruffled because of training, big eye bags from staying up late overthinking, and the scar on your left cheek from Shin knocking you out.
Tears slipped down from your eyes, vision blurry and sobs that you were trying to block from coming out.
From all of your crying and thinking you didn’t even see another person in the reflection of the water, but you felt a presence.
“Go away Sabine, I don’t want any of your talks. I’m fin-” You looked up, only to find a blue eyed girl with white/blonde hair.
You gasped.
“Shin?” You swiftly got up from your feet. “W-what are you doing here? I thought you were dead!”
You stepped back.
“Shin say something!-”
“I didn’t know what to do, or where to go..” she spoke quietly.
You noticed a bit of blood staining her grey vest, then noticed a cut in her vest that showed the split skin.
“The bandits got to me, I tried to take over them. But- uh…that backfired.”
You stepped forward but she stepped back.
“I’m- im not going to hurt you. Where’s Baylan?”
You noticed tears in her eyes. God did that break you.
“H-he…he left me,” Shin sobbed, “I had no where else to go. He said for me to kill you, Sabine, Ahsoka and Ezra then join Thrawn but- I..I refused….to harm you.”
Refused? That’s a first, you thought she really wanted to kill you after everything. And definitely Sabine.
“Y/n.”
The way she said your name made your heart thump. A blush to your cheeks.
“Here your going to bleed out, let me help you.” You reached for your bag and brought out some bandages and gauze.
You always kept stuff on you just incase.
Motioning for her to sit, you sat next to her asking her to lift up her shirt and vest.
“This may hurt..” “nothing I can’t handle.”
You smiled, but it faded when you dabbed the gauze on the cut and hearing her hiss in pain.
“I’m sorry,” you winced.
It was quiet as you patched her up, making sure that it was clean.
After doing so, you asked her where she was going to go but she didn’t know either.
“You could…stay with us?”
Shin looked at you if you were serious.
She thought you were crazy, thinking that you’d ever want her in your life again after everything.
“You? Want me to stay with you?”
You hummed.
“I-”
“Shin,” you placed a hand on her thigh, she tensed but relaxed after a second. “I want you to stay.”
It took Shin a bit to think but she nodded with a slight smile. You smiled like a dumb idiot in love.
You were in love. In fact, you are in love
~~~~~~~~~
“Sabine just hear me out!”
This wasn’t going very well. You were standing in front of a furious Sabine Wren with her lightsaber out ready to pounce at the blonde behind you. One arm reached out to make sure Sabine doesn’t get any closer, looking back at Shin every so once in awhile to make sure she doesn’t pounce either.
You brought Shin over to convince Sabine and Ahsoka for her to stay, since she had no where else to go.
“No! I won’t hear you out! Do you not realize what she did to us?!” Sabine yelled.
“Look, I know your angry at me for this and you hate her, but we have history I’ve told you this!” You did in fact tell Sabine about your and Shins relationship. She didn’t believe you at first but it kinda made since later.
“So what!”
“So what?! Sabine she has no where else to go! She’ll die if we leave her on her own!”
“So then let her! Let her starve on this shit hole!”
“Sabine.” Ahsoka finally stepped in.
You relaxed a bit but still kept your guard, as well as Shin. Sabine only strained more.
“You must calm your anger. I understand how our friend here has invoked us, but it isn’t right to leave her alone to die,” Ahsoka trotted over to the Mandalorian. “Shin can stay, but if she ever tries to harm us then she has to leave.”
Ahsoka looked over at you and Shin, as you glanced at her and she nodded to you, understanding.
“Good. Sabine, come with me and Y/n,” Ahsoka looked at you again. “Get her to rest.”
~~~~~~~~~
It has been a few days since Shin joined your tribe with the Noti. You think she’s happy to be with you again, well, you know.
Shin has opened up to you more about Baylan, and how he was like a father to her. She cried every time she talked about him, but you were there to hold her and comfort her.
Every day was better now with Shin around. You had more confidence.
You and Shin would sleep in the same tent, wake up and go for a morning walk, chores together (you taught her certain things the Noti taught you), you’d spar with Sabine as she’d spar with Ahsoka (sometimes you guys would spar together), hunt, eat then watch the sunset go down till bed.
You both have gotten close, really close
Shin was always teasing you, like brushing your hip when training, teasing words in your ear when doing chores, winking at you when you’d do something she thinks is hot.
It wasn’t making you mad or annoyed, it made you flushed and having the urge to kiss her right there.
You were eye-fucking each other the entire time every day. You got closer to cuddling in your sleep, and not saying a word about it the next morning.
Sabine had caught on quick about it. You also thought Ahsoka caught on too. Maybe even Huyang! Pretty obvious if being noticed by the wise droid.
Every time Shin would do something Ahsoka would give you a look that made you want to tackle her and frown.
You knew these feelings wouldn’t get unnoticed by your jedi master, Ahsoka always knew things you didn’t or things you’d think she doesn’t know but…knows.
~~~~~~~~
“Are you gonna actually woman up at some point and ask out your girl?”
You almost spat out your soup.
“What!?”
“You know.”
“No, I actually don’t,” you fought.
“Dude,” Sabine sat down on the log next to you, eyeing you then the fire. “You guys are eye-fucking each other every time you take a glance.”
You rolled your eyes, face blushing and hoping the blaze of fire hides it.
“It’s obvious, I bet you the Noti even notice it,”Sabine chuckled.
“Okay, I do really like her to where I think I love her. But I don’t know how to ask her out! I’ve never asked anyone out before! What do I say?” You rambled.
Sabine gave you a look, “just- be yourself, take her on an evening walk or something. Can’t really do any dates.”
“Yeah no shit,” your eyes veered to the ground. “You sure a walk will work?”
“Dude, it will! Trust me, I’m a professional at these things.”
You gave her a look, “mhm..sure cause you are totally a professional.”
Sabine rolled her eyes.
“But thanks..”
“No problem, I just need someone to keep that grimlin to calm down.” You laughed and with that, Sabine said good night and headed off to bed.
You sighed heavily, you know Shin likes you too. You’re just worried if it’s the right time, your gut is telling you to. So that’s what you go with.
Later that evening you were compelling wether or not to wake Shin up and ask her to walk with you. You’d feel bad waking her up, besides you couldn’t sleep thinking about all this.
You finally made the decision of going to wake the blonde. You walked to your shared tent and stepped inside, looking down at the peaceful girl.
She was so cute, her blonde hair a little ruffled, her mouth half open and small snores coming from her.
Kneeling down on your right knee, you gently shook Shin awake with your left hand. “Shin, Shin wake up, I want to ask you something.”
Of course Shin was a deep sleeper.
“Shin!” You whisper yelled.
Eventually you heard a groan from the older girl. “Why?”
You blushed, “I was uh..wondering if you’d take a walk with me? I have something important to talk to you about.” You were surprised you spat all that out.
“Hmp…why not tomorrow?..” Shin sighed.
“It’s really important…”
Shin finally opened her eyes, just a little bit but enough to see her blue glare.
“Fine, just give me a second.”
You nodded and left the tent, waiting for her outside.
Once Shin was ready you both started to walk on a path that led to the river you guys met at.
“Why’d you bring me out here to walk?”
Shin broke the silence
“I was wondering…if uh..”
Shit. What did Sabine tell you to do again?
You question yourself
Shin looked at you with her right brow perked up, as she cocked her head.
“Look Shin. I know it’s been a long time since we’ve been together. But I just want you to kno-”
You didn’t even get to finish cause the next thing you knew lips were on yours.
Soft lips
Her lips were so soft
She kissed harsh. Like she’s been wanting to kiss you for years. (And she has)
You kissed back just the same amount of force. Her hands placed on your hips, pulling you closer. Your arms wrapped around her back, digging your nails into her clothed skin, craving more of her touch.
Shin bit down on your lips, causing them to bleed as she then licked up the red liquid. Teeth clashing as she dug her tongue into your mouth.
You groaned when she gripped your ass, trying to get impossibly closer.
“Lay down for me my light.”
Shin laid you down on the soft grass, kissing you once again as she climbed on top of you.
Her hands now placed on your cheeks, rubbing her thumb rubbing over the scar on your left cheek.
“Shin..” you whimpered as she started to kiss below your chin, gripping the skin with her teeth.
Purple and red marks were decorating your (y/s/c) skin, wet kisses trailed down your neck. You gripped her hair roughly, begging for her to mark you as hers. She implied but biting hard next to your pulse as her younger danced across the reddened skin.
She swimmed back up to capture you in another kiss. “Is this okay?” She asked against your puffy plump lips, you nodded with a sigh as she placed her knee between your thighs.
All you could think of now was her
She was your focus
You focused on her knee, lifting your hips as your clothed clit made contact with her knee making you moan.
“That’s it baby, grind yourself on my knee. Come on darling, make yourself cum on me.” She praised.
You felt so loved by her. Everything she was doing was soft. It made you want to never leave this position.
Shin kissed where your heart was, peppering more until she reached your stomach. Brushing her hand over your breasts causing your back to arch.
“Oh-oh fuck-” you cried. “Sh-Shin…”
“Yes babygirl?”
“I want more…please oh fuck please.”
“Yeah? You want more, what do you want more of?” She teased.
“Yo-your fingers..” you gasped when she pulled her knee away. Only to bring her hand down your pants.
“Mhm..want my fingers eh?”
You nodded, biting your already swollen lips.
Shin rubbed two fingers over your clit, bringing you closer to your orgasm.
“Come on baby, let go, let go for me,” she murmured against your lips.
“Oh shit! Yes! Fuck oh my god!” Shin smirked and eased her fingers inside you.
“Cum for me..”
And with that, your body shook as you clenched around her fingers. Moaning her name over and over until your high came to an end.
“That’s it..”
Shin pulled away and rubbed your thigh while brushing your hair out of your face. She leaned down to kiss you again.
“Let me please you in return baby.” You husked.
Shin blushed but nodded.
You sure were in for one hell of a night. But it’s a night you won’t forget about.
Because you were in the arms of your home.
~~~~~~~~~
The ending was cheesy as hell but I did it!
It kinda seems short but also long at the same time cause I needed to find motivation 😭
I hope it’s good!
Let me know if any other requests I might write something with Tara 🤭

Shin Hati missed her master.
She was disturbed and missed her master.
Everything had been strange in the last two rotations.
Out of nowhere, Ahsoka Tano returned from the dead, Sabine Wren had improved with the lightsaber, although still weak, and that Ezra guy showed up. She fled when she felt alone instead of staying and fighting to the death, leaving that planet behind.
What kind of power is this where the most honorable man she knew runs away and leaves her alone against a Jedi and two apprentices? ?
As she walked along Baylan's trail, a guerrilla ship decided to open fire on her, and although she managed to fight and steal their ship, a map coordinate failed, taking her to a dense, empty forest in the middle of nowhere instead of where she could met her master.
Now she was lost in an unfamiliar place with not a drop of fuel for a new journey, no master, and no idea of what was happening.
Shin Hati was scared and didn't like the feeling
Years ago, the girl had begged Baylan to train her after the destruction of her world, but if she had known he would turn out to be a weak coward (or maybe a cunning one? she didn't know yet), she would have become a solo mercenary instead of a Force user.
Shin felt a mixture of anxiety and decided to sit on the ship's floor to meditate as her (ex)master had taught her. The Force was different in this place, she couldn't understand it, and frustrated, she got up to test all the ship's buttons for the fourth time that day.
With a desire to destroy the ship with her lightsaber, Shin decided to sit in the pilot's chair and as she curses the path that brought her here, she noticed that her left leg was starting to go numb. The cut wasn't deep, but a strip of her own cloak wasn't enough to stop the bleeding.
The girl was without supplies, in the middle of nowhere, without fuel, and injured.
"Fantastic," she said with sarcasm to nothing and punched the table in front of her.
Shin felt like crying, but she hadn't learned how to.
The Empire had fallen.
Darth Vader had been defeated.
Senator Leia Organa came forward to announce the news and declare that everything would return to normal. All rebels could lay down their arms and work towards building the new republic.
The fall of the Empire symbolized the realization of everything you had fought for. The end of the Sith was not just the end of an era of darkness; it was hope being spread throughout the galaxy. Even though some Imperials were being reintegrated, everyone knew that without a leader, they could never regain power.
Your mission, therefore, was complete.
Without it, your grief took its place in your mind, giving way to a sense of uselessness. Ahsoka and Luke were out there, being Jedi, and even though the former denied the title, you knew she was the best student the council had ever had, and he was the most hopeful. Hera had informed you that Sabine and Ezra had been found and Thrawn had fallen. She was happy because the family had reunited.
Family.
You, a young rebel who had spent the last four years trying to keep alive the legacy of your brother, Cassian Andor, had no family and knew you would never belong to one.
Having worked on some missions with General Hera Syndulla, it didn't take long for you to hear the stories of Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi-not-Jedi. Ahsoka knew Sabine and Ezra. She, a Mandalorian, and he, a Padawan. Together, the four had lived years before your arrival until the group split up. Although they were kind in every isolated interaction with you, it was obvious that there was no room for a young rebel pilot in this already-formed family.
You, an orphaned spy who did nothing but deliver materials or transport people, had not done anything as relevant to the defeat of the Empire. Amid transports, intelligence work, and journeys to distant settlements in need of help, the most significant point of your journey was still being the sister of one of the Rogue One team members, Cassian Andor, the man who, along with Jyn Erso, brought hope to Leia Organa.
You were just that and nothing more.
The words of your fellow pilots echoed in your mind, but after being the subject of conversation at every table, there comes a time when the words take root in your heart, and suddenly, you believe you shouldn't be alive.
All of this brings you to the present. Your droid announces that you have reached the final destination.
Final.
How ironic.
The decision that brought you here was made yesterday afternoon with Ahsoka and her family. You saw the smiles, the hugs, the jokes, and the affection. Words of affirmation and physical touches that weren't directed at you because you didn't belong to this family. It was a day of celebration, and after saying goodbye to each one and heading towards your ship, the soft touch of your chair was the only comfort as you mourned Cassian and anguished over not having the chance to belong to someone or somewhere.
Except, perhaps, to this forest on a small, isolated planet.
You look out at the green valley stretching beyond the window. The dense forest, with towering trees, holds memories of your feet running beneath fallen leaves, towards the great river. Here, you took your first blaster shot when you found your brother's weapon. The place that was once your refuge in the galaxy and would now be your eternal resting place. The river would carry your body and cleanse your soul of all pains.
Forever.
You smile sadly at the thought as you look at the place where you spent the last four years. You know the story behind every scratch on this ship. The group of survivors you transported before Tarkin and his men tested the Death Star on a new city were responsible for a set of runes near the door and the only ring you wore. You would be protected from curses, and although you didn't believe in the power of trinkets, the thought that Cassian would have accepted it brought a smile to your face. You would never act differently from him.
When you fight against the Empire, any protection is welcome.
Here was your roof, but never your home. Your home was destroyed long ago, and there's no way to turn back time.
You sigh and gaze at the scar of a promise never fulfilled on your hand. Your brother made a blood oath that he would never leave you, but today, you are alone on this ship he gave you. The weight of grief returns and hunches your back over the moss-green-painted table, his favorite color. On this table, you played, drank, slept, planned, and swore to be together forever.
Your hands try to betray you by reaching for the transmitter that Ahsoka gave you. Tell her, ask for help.
You shake your head to dismiss the thought and stand up to search for your old trunk with pages and a pen.
Writing has been the only constant in your life, and even though it's primitive, letters carry a part of you. The sweat from your hands when you rest your fingers on the paper to write in your unique handwriting transfers to the page in small quantities. The calligraphy is unique.
The envelope, the idea of organizing the text. Everything is unique.
"Letters are forever," you learned from a girl rescued from a world in ruins. Everyone was scared, but not her. She had a cold gaze, and instead of questioning who you were or why you were there with a ship intercepting an imperial attack or even requesting food, she asked to write a letter.
You handed over what you had in the trunk, two sheets you didn't use in your last report, and an old pen. Then for the first time, you wished you had more. That girl seemed to have more to say.
On the next trip, you made sure there would never be a shortage of pens and paper on your ship. Rescue missions or not.
You sign letters addressed to your fellow warriors while your co-pilot droid, K1, stands by, waiting for orders. He's all that's left of Cassian, and you hope Huyang will be a good friend to him when and if someone cares enough to look for you.
Ahsoka, Sabine, Ezra, and Luke would receive their letters at dawn. You would have written one for your brother if he were here, but if he were here, you wouldn't be writing these letters.
After putting them in their respective envelopes and handing them to K1, you stow your writing materials back in the trunk and look around, bidding farewell to the ship.
Make sure to put on your shoes and walk towards the door.
"Are you going out? Storm's coming, don't forget your coat," a metallic voice interrupts your path.
Turning to it, you smile and pick up the coat. He would never let you go out without a coat.
Cassian wouldn't either.
You approach your droid with an unshed tear and rest your forehead against his, as you've done since the first time.
"Rest, soldier. I'll be back soon."
It's the first and last lie you'll tell him.
A beep pulls Shin out of her self-pity wave.
The radar indicates that something is approaching the ship, and judging by the speed, Shin knows it must be a person.
Someone very slow.
Having scanned the forest upon arrival, she knew this person or being wasn't here before. And perhaps, just perhaps, there's a ship in play.
Shin tears a new piece of fabric from her clothing and ties it around her injured leg. She lets out a low noise as she stands up and puts weight on her foot, but the fault lies with the wind, not the pain.
Shin Hati doesn't feel pain.
Exiting the ship and entering the forest in a strategic position to find whoever it may be, the girl devises a plan. Kill the thing, steal the ship, head to the master's hideout on a moon in another system. With the lightsaber in hand, she leans against a tree trunk, and the strange sensation returns.
A footsteps echo on dry leaves and Shin Hati senses a disturbance in the Force.
You lift your gaze from the ground when notices the light reflecting off a piece of metal in the middle of the forest ahead. And as you get closer, sees what appears to be a ship that definitely didn't show up on her radar.
A rustling interrupts you train of thought, and she dodges a lightsaber strike. The woman must be her age, but there's no time for analysis as Shin dodges a second strike. Her opponent's movements are aggressive, and she decides to take a few steps back while tossing a smoke bomb in her direction.
"What a warm welcome. Who are you?" Your voice is heard by Shin, who now covers her nose with the cape while trying to identify you in the smoke haze.
"You really think you can hide?" Hati asked, pointing the lightsaber in the direction of the sound with a sharp movement.
The feeling in her stomach grows. But it's not hunger. The Force is trying to convey something she doesn't understand.
"Tell me your name and drop the saber. I don't wish to hurt you," you say from behind a tree, hoping she'll obey. Your plan was to die in the river, so no weapons for you today.
Seconds pass, the smoke settles, and Shin finds herself deactivating her lightsaber. It's as if the Force is flowing through her. She tries to fight it but can't.
Shin Hati feels dizzy and doesn't like the sensation.
"Who are you, and why did you attack me?" you ask while observing her. The woman is putting a lot of weight on one leg, probably because the other is injured. You want to help, but her red lightsaber isn't a good sign.
Only Sith use bleeding crystals.
"I didn't attack you; you invaded my property," Shin says with anger, or something close to it. She sees the woman behind the tree in front of her, but the Force is dense, and Shin decides she doesn't want to fight someone with such power.
"This is a forest; it's not anyone's property," you say as you step out from behind the tree and analyze your opponent. The blonde woman wears gray armor, probably level two metal. Not as strong as Beskar, but you wouldn't stand a chance in a physical fight.
You are weak.
Shin feels anguish and realizes that the woman's thoughts are the culprits. Feelings can influence the Force, so maybe her opponent is just a weak soul. Weak? Shin is curious but wasn't taught to deal with this.
The woman is still looking at her.
"I've been here longer than you, so it's my property. Who are you?" Shin finds herself asking before she can stop. She notices that the woman is unarmed, an easier target to steal from. Just steal? Why not kill her?
You give her your name but not your surname. You left Andor's legacy on your ship. You are just you.
And you take a step forward.
"And you? Who are you? Where did you get the lightsaber?" Your question sends a shiver down Shin's spine. She's sure she's heard your voice before. Seeing you up close, with swollen and tired eyes, Shin understands why the Force is dense: you plan to interrupt your life.
It's going to be easier than I thought.
"My name is Hati. I'm an outsider and now out of fuel. I bought the lightsaber from a merchant for self-defense; it's more efficient than a blaster." She tries to maintain a neutral expression as she lies because Shin Hati was taught to lie.
An outsider with scratched armor and a wounded leg? The way she fights reminds you of warriors, not outsiders, but her trembling gaze makes you realize she's been through something serious.
"You should've bought fuel crystals instead" you joke. "I'm not sure if I can trust you, but I have spare crystals on my ship. It's a seven-minute walk in that direction. Hand this to my droid, and he'll help you, but keep the lightsaber and don't harm him." You hand her your ring and walk past her without waiting for a response or lie.
Shin Hati takes the ring and holds it, growling. The Baylan's apprentice felt concerned about some random stranger…. Maybe she cared? No, she couldn't. The mission is to steal the ship and find her master.
Following the path into the woods ahead, she feels her leg hurt, and her feet try to turn back, but she keeps walking until she sees the blue and gold ship. The feeling of familiarity passes through her again, along with frustration at not remembering. The rebel insignia displayed makes her roll her eyes, and she advances in an attack position. It all seems too easy; maybe it's all a setup by the Republic in the end.
The ship is open, and Shin climbs the ramp.
A droid stands up and observes the new intruder.
"Oh, hello. Who might you be?" K1 says with curiosity and politeness, watching the blonde girl.
Shin Hati wants to destroy him, but she feels it's not the time yet. Her master taught her patience, and Shin Hati feels sorry. An energy pulls her toward the door, but she takes a deep breath and focuses on the mission.
"Your owner told me to give you this. I'll take the ship," she says, showing him the ring you gave her.
Something is wrong, K1 knows.
You would never just give up the ship like this, but she has your ring. You've never taken it off. He would breathe if it had lungs.
"Make yourself at home, miss. I'll initiate the system," he goes to the command room to try to contact you.
Shin Hati tosses the ring on the table, takes off her gloves, the cape, and admires her droid's efficiency. Maybe she'll keep him around. The ship is clean and fully fueled. She makes a sandwich from the available ingredients while trying to remember where she knows this space from.
The strong wind and drops on the window announce the arrival of the storm. The robotic voice of your droid announces that the departure will be delayed. Shin just nods while staring at the same symbols from your ring adorning the entry door.
Protection runes, perhaps. She recalls stories Baylan used to tell her, symbols that carried magic.
Shin Hati didn't like magic.
She notices a small chest in a corner of the table and pulls it closer to examine it. Then, the apprentice finally understands, and she can't breathe.
She saw you before
A long time ago.
When Shin Hati was the name of the survivor of a ruined city and not Baylan Skoll's apprentice.
Your voice, the chest, the pen. The runes. The droid. Your eyes.
Your damn sad eyes.
She reaches out for the ring, and then she seemed to feel it.
The sadness and the guilt. And there was that girl in the rain. And in the rain, she seemed so sad and so lonely. Just like...
She opened her eyes quickly, her eyes full of tears. She felt it. She felt the emotions hidden inside the ring.
Just like she felt the emotions of the poor girl in the forest.
Suddenly, she cried with all her soul.
She dropped your ring on the floor and hid her face in her hands.She felt so much sadness in her... And she didn't understand why.
Why so sad?
She was still in a state of trance, tears pouring down her face. She wasn't even in your ship anymore. It was like the Force was taking control over her.With the Force, Shin saw you again, lying in the river, passed out.
Almost sinking. Almost dead.
Weak, exhausted, and so lonely.
Shin watched your pain and suffering and cried again, as if she felt what that girl felt. It was all so real. With the Force, she saw every detail, every suffering and pain of that lonely soul.
She was in a state of trance as the Force was trying to make her move, trying to help you.
She raised her head, looked around, and then turned and quickly ran out of the ship. With her lightsaber, she cut her way through the rain to the forest.
She could feel the rain against her skin and could feel the girl's emotions all the way there.
She was afraid but determined.
She brings you to the ship and calls for help; your droid, K1, picks you up and carries you to the ship's infirmary. You drowned, but you're still alive. Almost alive. And looks so broken.
She wanted to comfort you in some way. But how?
Shin Hati didn't know how to comfort anyone.
But there was one thing that Shin knew. The Force could provide healing.
She let all her emotions flow and focused on your healing, trying to use the Force to help you.
K1 brings blankets and dry clothes. She tears off your wet clothes and covers you with a thick blanket.
She only leaves your side to change into dry clothes at the insistence of K1, she learned that it was his name . She stays there, waiting for you to wake up, sit in the big chair next to your bed.
She tries to hate you for making her get wet, but for the first time in years, Shin can't. Looking at her own hands, she feels the Force flow. It's intense and no longer painful. She feels her heart beating and learns that she still has one.
And she had so much to learn about you life when you woke up.

Shin Hati/Reader
Summary: Shin gets injured on a mission, luckily you’re there with her.
Warnings: injury, blood
a/n: slight au where shin gets off of peridea, and works as a mercenary instead of joining thrawn.
Tumblr media
The wind harshly blew through the forest trees, crisp, dry air biting at your nose and fingertips despite the thick furs covering you. Snow crunching under your footsteps, muffling any sound coming from you and your blonde companion.
A few moons ago, she boarded your ship, seeking your services for her mercenary work. She rarely spoke, but you soon found solace in the quiet late-night games of holochess or cards; enjoying the way her eyes danced across the board, strategizing her way to win.
Her work took you across the galaxy, from the Outer Rim Territories to the lower levels of Coruscant. This current mission brought you to Kijimi, where Shin was returning spice to some Pykes in Kijimi City. Usually, Shin would leave you on the ship, but this time she handed you a small blaster and insisted on backup. Despite having seen her skillful handling of a lightsaber, disbelieving she needed help, you followed her up the mountain.
Unexpectedly, backup was needed. At the drop-off point, you were ambushed by thieves and heavily outnumbered. As you were fleeing, a stray bolt ricocheted off of a crate hitting Shin’s torso. Carrying her through back alleys, you finally reached the mountainside and descended to the ship.
Shin's ragged breathing and the blood dripping onto the snow were worrying. Wind picking up as she fell to her knees. "We're almost to the ship, Shin. Just a little bit longer," encouraging her, yet, she collapsed.
---
As you finished bandaging Shin, she startled awake.
"We're in the ship, you're safe now," you assured her, gently stroking her arm. She took in the familiar surroundings of the ship.
“Where are we?” She attempted to sit up, but halted when you lightly grazed her shoulders. Her face flushing as you laid her back down.
Upon her query, you explained, "I landed us on Kinyen for safety, in case anyone was following us." As you disposed of the bloody bandages, Shin relaxes and covers her eyes with her arm, both of you breathing a sigh of relief.
“I’m sorry about your mission,” Sitting on the edge of her bed, you covered her with a blanket.
"There will be more." As you started to leave, she lightly gripped your wrist, hesitating, "please stay with me." Her plea touched you deeply, her eyes holding much pain and vulnerability, it broke your heart. Lying down she rested her head next to your shoulder, hand softly brushing yours. You both soon fell asleep together in the comforting silence.

coming into the camp to live with the peridea bandits was proven less difficult than shin hati had first anticipated. many of the bandits living in the camp refused to talk to her and the rest had a distaste towards her trying to be their leader, but for the sake of partnership they followed her word. there were no conflicts between her and the people who took her in, she didn’t have to argue or reason to be helped with food, water, a ride, and a warm place to live. whenever she could she helped the others living in the camp by going on to forage and hunt by herself, to escape the commotion of the tight knit camp, and to strengthen her connection to the force alone.
“will there be a time for you to join us all to eat?” with the question walks in a bandit, a bowl and a cup in their hand as their get closer to the sith and sitting across her at the table. shin hati raised an eyebrow at the bandit settling down in front of her, getting comfortable on the pillow on the floor before pulling their helmet off and tossing it behind you.
of course, there were exceptions to a few crooks avoiding her, like yourself, one of the youngest riders out of the bandits who took care of the howlers. you often ran around the camp without your helmet, taking the howlers back to the fenced down areas for the night and asking their riders if there were any complaints from the animals. you didn’t mind her at all in the camp, rather you were intrigued by her and how she trained, how she was capable of protecting herself with a simple beam of a lightsaber.
“I reckon someone like you who spent years alone has a hard time accepting company.” you add as you take a sip of your drink, simultaneously throwing your gloves onto the table next to your bowl. the sith in front of you says nothing as she continues to dig through her food before lifting her spoon out of the bowl and stuffing it in her mouth.
you shake your head, feeling a tad bit pitiful because of your weak attempt at trying to get her to have a casual conversation failed. but even with the bitter taste in your mouth, you accept the defeat you must face, making this lunch of yours a short one by finish up fast and heading back to the camp square to see if there was any other work that had to be done before the next scavenger group was sent out.
but just as you were reaching for your helmet, standing up and heading out of the tent the blonde mercenary stopped you in your tracks with a firm grip on the gear that was hanging from your belt. “your assumption is correct,” she breaths as she lets go of your belt, turning out from the table and looking up at you.
“although I’m mostly clueless of what to talk about.” her words were sincere, the shimmer in her eyes was more than enough to confirm that to you. with a sigh, you nod and go to pull a pillow to take a seat next to her, helmet once again set behind you as you crouch down taking your place, the gear on your belt rattling as you settle.
“a tale about the galaxy would be a great start.” giving her an enthusiastic smile might have worked more against you than in favor of you as her eyes slim, her face contouring into a confused expression. the gears in shin hati’s brain were turning, but maybe not in the direction she wanted them to. all she could think about was how she got here, that was on her mind between the sun coming up and setting. she wasn’t sure of how she got here, she could barely rely on her memory and let alone recount about it to you with that stupid smile on your face and that low cheer in your voice when you mentioned it.
“we always talk about the galaxy, don’t you find it dull?” perhaps the first part of her statement was true- you always asked about the galaxy and never anything else, but what was never gonna be true is the second part. you will never grow bored hearing about the stars and planets that are outside your home.
“you have seen the space between the stars, been to so many places, and you think that there is no magic to it anymore.” you say, rolling your eyes as she shrugs, quietly scoffing at you words. the blonde’s reaction gives you a reason for a short laugh before continuing with your issue about hearing about the galaxy. “I have only known peridea my whole life, I wish to know the stories of the galaxies from someone who has been in more than one.” there was no way she could argue with your logic, not even with her knowledge that was probably far greater than yours.
shin hati nods, thinking that she may have found a compromise for you. the blond girl was certainly not easy to deal with, but she was also incredibly stubborn and determined to stick by her ways. shin hati thought that if she gave in and was ready to answer, hoping that the two of you could spend some time together during your next scavenger hunting trip she would be able to convince you to tag along, and talk about yourself rather than interrogating her.
“flattery will get you nowhere.” she says with a huff as she looks away from you with a pout. the comment makes you smile, despite her attempts to hide it. ‘she does seem cute with her pout.’
“I’m right where I wanna be.” you reply, leaning forward to rest a cheek on your palm with a playful smirk that made the blonde look over to you. the look in her blue eyes were intense yet soft, her lips parted slightly as she blinked slowly. it made the heat rise to your cheeks, making you wonder if she could read minds. the blonde looked at you for another moment before dropping her gaze back down to her bowl. you felt disappointed at the loss of eye contact, silence settling between the two of you for a while.
“so you wanna hear about the galaxy…” her voice trails off into a whisper, trying to catch her attention again by taking her hand in yours. the sith stiffens, her cheeks tinted a pink color but she doesn’t pull away or move to get away. her hands are cold but softer than you imagined them to be. after a moment of hesitation, you take her hand, intertwining your fingers. you give a gentle squeeze and watch her expression morph into a mix of confusion and surprise, her face flushed red. “or your interests are finally shifting?”
"you have anything else to do in mind?" you ask, a small grin on your lips as you look back up at her. the blonde takes a moment before she shakes her head, her hair swinging softly against her shoulders, her hand running up your arm and stopping on the back of your neck, pulling you in. the two of you meet halfway, your lips connecting in a sweet kiss, soft and sweet, almost like the way a lover kisses before bed. it's slow and full of affection, the warmth of both of your bodies pressed against each other. it feels perfect to you, like coming home after a long day of searching and adventuring.
for shin hati it felt like finding home after being so lost for so long, looking for purpose in the galaxy's most executive and dangerous parts, it seemed like something out of a fairytale when she found you at the end of the galaxy. the world around her was spinning, but she couldn't bring herself to care, all that mattered was the feeling of her lips on yours and the feeling of your hand in hers. she felt safe.
the kiss was interrupted when a whistle blows loudly throughout the camp. you break apart quickly, both of your faces flushing a bright red as you look anywhere but each other. with a loud groan, you push yourself up from your spot on the ground, the blonde doing the same. you put her helmet back on while shin hati pulls her cloak over her head as you walk towards the door, leaving her there, staring at your back, trying to come up with something to say. “i still owe you a story of the galaxy." she whispers into the quiet, her words falling heavy against her ears. you turn to look at her, your smile growing ever bigger as you look her directly in the eye, not that she can see that, and nod. she returns it before you step out of the tent, closing the flap behind you, leaving her alone to do whatever she pleased with the confusing thoughts that you have planted in her brain.

— content warnings. shin hati x reader, fluff, hand holding
thinking about touch starved!shin who doesn’t even realize she’s touch starved until the moment you initiate by holding her hand to calm her down when she’s worked up or frustrated (which is quite often given the situations she’s placed in). you do it quietly, away from everyone’s eyes, and at first, shin would flinch at the feeling of your hand carefully finding its place in hers, but when she notices that you’re the one who’s doing it, she eases into it slowly, staring ahead in front of her without even turning to glance down at her hands. then, she’d look at your face with those bright, wide eyes just to turn away with that same stoic expression she always seemed to have on, only this time her cheeks were coated with a light blush. but she never let go. she let you hold her hand for the time being, before it was time to part ways and head off to both of your respective tasks.
and let’s face it, i don’t exactly expect shin to have love for any pda. i think she’d be the type to want to do everything in private, away from her master’s eyes, anyone’s eyes, and even the droids. it’s partly because she’s embarrassed, but it’s not of you; she makes that very clear. it’s also because she doesn’t really know what she likes yet, but she does know that she likes it when she’s holding your hand. so, when she sees you again, you’re alone in your own quarters on the ship, fixing up your blaster because it seemed to overheat too much when you were firing it. shin walks in without a word, and for a while, she just stands there, staring into your eyes after you ask her what she was doing here. but she says nothing, and decides to just sit next to you on the bench instead. of course, you’re confused, but you knew shin was never the talkative kind, so you just continue working. you notice the way shin is staring; it’s kind of hard not to. shin eyes your delicate hands as you work through modifying your gun as well as you can. it’s only until you finish up when you notice that she's not wearing her gloves anymore. did she have them off all this time? eventually, shin looks down, realizing that there’s a space between your hands and hers, and suddenly, she had this unbearable itch to close it. but you beat her to it, carefully slipping your hand into her palm for the second time and shin takes a deep breath, immediately squeezing your hand gently and smoothing her thumb over your skin. and her hand is rough and callused, probably from all that intense training she puts herself through. but you love it anyway.
"your hand is soft," she would say quietly, staring down at the sight with calm eyes.
you knew it was just her way of saying that she liked holding your hand. and she really did, because she’d come over to your room as much as she could during the day just to do so. then, you’d jokingly tell her about how you’d lay your head on her shoulder only if she didn’t wear those hard ass, metal shoulder pads all the time. so, the next time she came over, her shoulders were free from that armor she always wore, and the knowing smile you gave her only darkened the blush that was already on her cheeks as she walked over here. so, shin likes holding your hand. she reaaaally does.
