Robin and Steve getting a job as crime scene clean up crew because hey, it’s a job and it pays well. They are at a regular job, thankfully the bodies are always taken away before they get there so it’s just the blood and other unsavoury things they have to deal with.

What they don’t expect to see is two curly haired strangers rushing up to the scene. A tense conversation between them, the shorter fiery girl telling the taller, defensive boy off

‘maybe DON’T get distracted next time? You think we need another vampire to compete with?’

The taller boy firing back ‘I might be dead but you can’t expect me to hear black sabbath and NOT air guitar! I’ll find our new ‘friend’ and I’ll fix it. Okay!? I’m sorry!’

The intruders walk right into the scene before they acknowledge Robin and Steve.

‘Hello? Hi? Guys this is a crime scene, you can’t just walk through here!’ Steve is infront of both of them, hands on hips and a stern look. Robin comes up to his side, eyeing the pair and cautious after overhearing their conversation

‘Oh. Our mistake. We’ll come back later. You um..don’t happen to know what happened to the victim do you?’ The girl asks, brown eyes flighty before settling on Robin and giving a sweet smile and batting her lashes. Robin stutters, blushing hard and as she tries to give an answer when Steve interjects

‘I’m sorry, we can’t answer that. Maybe try the police?’ It’s said with an irritated undertone almost like he’s jealous that he isn’t the one on the receiving end of the girls attention. But then the other boy steps up, leans far too close while giving Steve a thorough once over that makes Steve feel like he’s been undressed. Steve maybe wishes he was.

‘Oh but I think I’d rather speak to you.’ The boy winks and as he smiles there’s a hint of canine teeth that look unnaturally pointed that the boy licks over. Before he can go any further, the girl thrusts her hand out with a tight lipped smile

‘Ignore him. Please. I’m Nancy, this is Eddie. But like I said, ignore him.’

The boy, Eddie, gives an indignant ‘hey!’ while Nancy continues.

‘We really respect what you do, clearly important and valued work but we are going to need you to come with us. It’s your choice if it’s voluntary or force.’

Robin quickly finds Steve’s hand, as they turn to face each other and run.

I saw some cute art of black Near, and it sent me down the spiral of What If Beyond Was Black, so just—imagine with me.

Beyond spending legit hours putting on make up and just fuckin',,,spray painting the rest of his body because like hell he's gonna sit for eight more hours doing it by hand. Candace's costume is red and white because of course it is, so one of the media's nicknames for her is "The Candy Cane Crusader," and how derogatory it's meant to be depends on the source. Now initially she was annoyed by this, but she eventually figured she had three options. Fight a losing battle to try and get them to stop (believe it or not, all her busting attempts have taught her to pick her battles, she's just usually bad at it), change her costume (fat chance), or just fucking Own It. So now she leans into it a little, doing things like carrying around actual candy canes to give to kids who are extra distressed when she rescues them. The only one who hasn't called her that at least once is JJJ, since he prefers to stick to "Menace."

so looking at the kids injuries...

you can see the usual scrapes and scratches that the show uses for pg injuries. no ones, like, bleeding because i doubt disney would have been too happy with that. (dell did bleed a lot in kkkohd in the flashback when eda attacked him so maybe disney just doesnt want specifically kids to be too injured)

luz has a cut on her eyebrow that everyone’s been talking about but its also interesting to note that her facial injuries (scratches on her right cheek and cut on her left eyebrow) are similar to hunter’s facial injuries (scratches on his left eyebrow and a scar on his right cheek). guess that’s another parallel.

willow is holding her right arm in here which initially made me think it was injured. but she seemed to be using it just fine earlier so maybe she’s just cold/nervous.

the kids seem to have all taken a few falls to the face and scratched up their arms while defending themselves. if you look at the dana terrace art you can also see quite a few scraped knees. willow has a tear in her pant leg which was probably also from a fall.

luz and gus tore their sleeves on their upper arm. which seems a lot harder to do? i guess if belos struck at them and they dodged at the last second and he grazed their sleeve? also amity has a tear in her pant leg near the ankle. it’s on the inside of her leg. how did she get that part torn without twisting her ankle or something?

the most important thing i want to point out are the tearss in hunter and amity’s shirts. amity’s shirt has a small tear near where her diaphragm would be. you can see her skin through the tear and she’s not wounded which is good. (i doubt any of these kids will actually be seriously wounded from the fight because that would break up the story and also the rat would stop them) guess belos swiped a claw at her and she jumped back just in time.

hunter has two much longer cuts across the front of his shirt, one of them where his heart and lungs would be. the color through the tear doesn’t match his skin or his undershirt but for the sake of my sanity i will assume he is also uninjured there and thats just shadow. but yeah. belos aimed for the chest. he really wanted to kill that boy.

Have you ever wondered what would happen in ur orv fics if the scenarios never really happened? I know they all basically came together and stayed together because of it in the free dinner fic at least.

But would they have these bonds in normal life? Like they ARE connected to eachother in some ways, like aeri and eunbyeol, but do u see them, including kdj's gang in free dinner.

Cause when I think about yjh and eunbyeol at least , they will have no regression in common and she wouldn't have the MAIN reason to strongly dislike him( that is to say excluding his...personality), cause you know "killing in the past regression".

tragically, i'd say our couple would never encounter each other if the scenarios never happened. the scenarios have changed eunbyeol a lot in terms of lifeview and her friend yohan can only make her a decent person so fast. but she would have chance meetings with other members of kimco though her continued life of kinda being a mess in art school - she'd be familiar with heewon, for once, since eunbyeol likes barhopping but doesnt have the money for something expensive, so a cheap bar that heewon works at would be her stomping grounds eventually

i think the biggest link she'd have to yjh in a world without scenarios is either a) yjh goes looking for the ballerina mia wanted to see play the sugar plum fairy and finds her online presence, but doesnt approach because of how she is (and for good reason, mia meeting her hero would end poorly in this instance), or b) yohan would show eunbyeol a video of him streaming, and eunbyeol would laugh at the novelty before seriously considering streaming while pushing ToS to the max to get extra tips. very brief footnotes in each other's lives without the scenarios, where one says "oh hell no" and the other says "what a nerd lol" when they find out about each other

i do like to think that if option b happened, though, they met by chance at a convention after eunbyeol got dragged into gaming by yohan after he introduces her to animal crossing and she spends way too much time making her island fit a pink aesthetic

Naruto Modern Fantasy AU - Bijuu & Patrons

Order and Chaos are two of the oldest divinities and are responsible for the creation of the systems that exist within the Nexus (my world). Respectively, they're famously known for the creation of the Order of Angels & Life (Order) and Hell & Death (Chaos). Other achievements include the Seven Heavenly Virtues and the Seven Sins (Partially out of commission).

At an early part in their life, Order and Chaos formed an understanding relationship that developed into romantic feelings. The result of that romance and their union were the bijuu, their nine (related) children. Very soon after Shukaku was created, they separated and began their long-standing and bitter feud. In addition to their together children, they each have their own offspring, the Goddess of Life and Creation & the God of the Dead (prev the God of the Dead, Death and Decay; alt title as King of the Dead).

In the older days, each Bijuu was worshipped and had devoted followers because they were so important, and at the time were the only minor gods around. Eventually, after the creation of the New Gods, the Bijuu lost relevance and were in danger of fading away. A deal was struck so that they could maintain their form and power but they had to have a patron that they fused their soul with. In rare cases, the patrons are willing participants who offer themselves in exchange for help. In most cases, the patron is an unwilling sacrifice, pushed by devoted followers (or power-hungry men) who want to keep their god alive. In the very special case of Mito Uzumaki who offers herself to keep Kurama alive by making a deal that she'll honor his wishes in exchange for power and safety,,, she absolutely does not follow through. This builds up decades of resentment, especially when he is passed down to Kushina who does the same, which starts off his rocky relationship with Naruto.

In another very special case, Rin, who is forcibly made a patron to Isobu, dies within the early stages of his soul intertwining with hers. Later she is resurrected, as the initial soul intertwining process was botched, and Isobu and Rin's souls are now one in the same. Meaning that instead of switching out consciousnesses like a regular patron and god can do, they share it. After the resurrection, Rin also displays physical features of Isobu such as red sclera and protruding spikes.

Patrons receive their patron god's powers and abilities in exchange for either sacrifices or completing quests/tasks, often they're centered around the patron god's title. For example, Matatabi requires Yugito to exorcise and guide spirits/ghosts to the afterlife. In Killer B's case, him and Gyuuki are just vibing. Gyuuki has a historically good relationship with B's family and all of his patrons volunteered willingly, so he freely exchanges his power. Fuu was unwilling sacrificed, but thankfully Chomei adores her enough to provide her power for protection, even helping her leave her followers.
