summary: now that the second apocalypse is over, five and y/n can finally retire and maybe finally make their moves?
Tumblr media
“You know, Five... Sometimes I do wish I’d never met you,” You took a sip from your wine, watching as the preteen in question rolled his eyes playfully at you.
“Yeah, yeah, you’re a delight as well, Y/N,” He nonchalantly dismissed you, continuing to eat his Chinese takeout.
After surviving not one, but two apocalypses alongside Five Hargreeves and his siblings, you guys wound up back in your timeline, only to find out your trip to the 60s caused some changes in the present, such as Sir Reginald Hargreeves deciding against adopting Luther, Diego, Klaus, Ben, Allison, Viktor and Five, and instead some seven other dickheads with superpowers.
Your encounter was far from pleasant.
Six months ago you were planning to retire from the Commission, since you were almost sixty and had had your fair share of missions, so you figured one last task with your partner, Five, would be the good way to end things. Well, one thing led to another and instead of taking out JFK, you woke up in 2019, in your preteen body, in an unknown backyard with unknown people, who turned out to be your partner’s siblings.
One thing led to another and you guys bonded over the span of 10 days in an attempt to save the world, but that is a story for another time.
After those 10 days, you time traveled once again and woke up in 1963, alone, in a school. Some teacher found you and took you in, thinking you were a lost 13 year old girl, but then again, that is a story for another time.
Six months passed until you reunited with the Hargreeves siblings in yet another attempt to save the world.
Two more weeks and you were back in 2019, but things did not go according to plan.
“Still don’t understand how you two have not banged yet,” Klaus shook his head disappointed, as Diego and Luther couldn’t help but not in agreement.
You tried not to blush, but Klaus’ bluntness always got the best of you. Spending this time with Five on top of being a teen again took a toll on you. You’ve known Five for long before the apocalypse. When the Handler recruited him, she trusted you to be his partner, since you were basically her right hand. The bickering was there even back then, but these past six months you started seeing him with different eyes, in a different light.
“I’d rather choke on chopsticks,” You were quick to deny any indecent thought, “You’re sick, by the way.”
“And you’re sixty, so bye,” Klaus smirked, hopping from his stool.
“Too retired to even bother,” Five shrugged his shoulders, watching as his two other brothers followed Klaus.
“I’m gonna get more food,” Luther lightly shrugged his shoulders, making his way to the buffet.
“I refuse to third wheel 13 year olds,” Diego stated, scratching the back of his neck.
You watched confused as the three men all left the table, leaving you alone with Five, who did not seem bothered at all.
“I’ll never get used to your brothers,” You shook your head, taking another sip from your wine, “You people are too much.”
“Can’t argue with that,” Five scoffed, watching as you were playing with your glass.
“So, retirement, huh?” You changed the subject, “What are your plans now that the world is safe?”
“I didn’t think much of it, to be honest,” Five shrugged, “Weren’t you supposed to retire after the JFK mission? What did you have in mind?”
You smiled softly, looking at your wine, “I was gonna buy a mansion in Italy, 1970s or so... maybe get a dog and cat, start producing my own wine... I don’t know, I didn’t plan much.”
“Of course there’s a lot of wine in your retirement plans,” Five smirked, as you playfully smacked his arm, “Ow!”
“You’re officially banned from visiting me in Italy,” You stated, biting back a chuckle.
“I wouldn’t have wanted to anyway,” Five lightly shrugged his shoulders, not once dropping his smirk, “Besides- you wouldn’t last a day without me.”
“Excuse you?” You scoffed, placing your hand on top of your chest for a more dramatic effect, “Last I checked, you were the one who dragged me along this whacky adventure.”
“Yeah, ‘cause I knew you’d be devastated at the Commission without me,” He replied with the same cocky air as usual, which made you ponder on the situation.
Is this Five’s way of flirting with you? During the time you spent together ever since operation Doomsday started back in the original timeline of 2019, there may have been a few... interesting moments to say the least. Like when he first opened up to you about being worried sick for his siblings, or when he gave you the tightest embrace after reuniting with you in 1963. There was also that time when you two held hands on your way to meet his father.
Moments like these that you couldn’t help but cherish with utmost happiness, but not once letting yourself get sidetracked. There was an apocalypse going on, neither of you had time for this.
But now?
Now there’s no apocalypse anymore. Granted, there still are some issues that would be best to fix, but it’s not like they’d bring the end of the world if not.
So, why not?
“If I didn’t know you any better, Five Hargreeves,” You smirked, leaning in closer to the boy, with your glass of wine in one hand, “I’d say you are flirting with me.”
Five shook his head amused, watching you sip your precious wine so close to him. If the wine was intoxicating you, you definitely were the one intoxicating him. It took him some while before he could accept that he had feelings for you, but he couldn’t say either that he was surprised when he realized.
He really felt like you were absolutely perfect, no doubt in his mind.
“And would that bother you?” Five raised a brow, resting his arm on the back of your chair, leaning in even closer.
“I can’t say it would be unpleasant,” You set down your wine, curious to see where this would go.
“You’re such a tease, Y/N,” Five rolled his eyes, “But... I wouldn’t want you any other way.”
“Will you just kiss me already?” You sighed, watching a genuine smile appear on his lips, as he leaned in, connecting your lips at last.
You cupped his face, melting into the long-awaited kiss. On one hand, you couldn’t believe this was finally happening, and on the other hand, you couldn’t believe this was actually happening. You and Five were finally done with apocalypses, trying to save the world and the Commission.
You could officially both retire.
“Does this mean I can visit you in Italy?” He whispered, as you two pulled away from the kiss, but still painfully close to one another.
“Ah, who can’t last a day without the other now?” You smirked, pulling him into another kiss.

synopsis: Jake gets a wedding invite from the girl he's still in love with. Based off of Speak Now (TV) by Taylor Swift
word count: 4.1k
warnings: cursing, break-ups, runaway bride, miscommunication
Tumblr media
Jake knew you probably hated the invites. You had told him over and over that you never wanted a big wedding, you wanted something small. You had agreed with your mom to not just go to the courthouse, but would at least do something a little bigger. Jake ran his fingers over the pale pink paper that was decorated with flowers and had your name and your fiancé’s name written in gold cursive letters. He knew you were somewhere screaming and pulling your hair out.
‘PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE CEREMONY OF MATRIMONY OF Y/N M/N AND BILLY “FRITZ” AVALON’
“Yeah, I just got it,” Jake said to Coyote. He had called his best friend the moment he saw the light pink envelope in his mailbox, “I looked up the address, it’s a church. She always said she wouldn’t get married in a church, she was worried it would burn down around her,”
“I don’t think that’s possible,” Javy said, “She must be a different person now, when was the last time you talked to her?”
“I don’t know 2-3 years ago. I heard Bob ask Nat if she had figured out a bridesmaid dress yet,” Jake sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose, “I guess it was for this.”
“Did you expect anything less? They’re best friends.”
Jake shrugged knowing his friend couldn’t see him, “I don’t think I’m gonna go,”
“You can’t do that!”
“Why would I go? To submit myself to the torture of watching her marry someone else? Watching someone else give her the life I couldn’t give her?” Jake said angrily, the images of their last fight filled his mind. He looked over to the front door from his kitchen, the replay of you walking out the door, with your bags packed and tears in your eyes was forever burned into his mind.
“You pushed her away, Jacob. You can only blame yourself for that,” Javy scolded and Jake sighed.
“I thought I was doing the right thing,” Jake mumbled.
“Well do the true right thing, and go to the wedding, for her. It’ll make her happy to see you there,” Javy said and Jake told him he’d think about it.
Jake sat down on his couch and closed his eyes. Ever since that fateful day, he let you go, he couldn’t fathom thinking about you with someone else. He knew though, he knew you had met someone else, but didn’t know it was Fritz until about a month ago. The two of you waltzed into the Hard Deck, hand-in-hand, smiles on your face. Jake couldn’t stand the sight of it. It made him physically ill to stand there and keep a smile on his face. You had caught only a glimpse of him as he walked out the door.
Jake pushed himself off of his spot and walked to his room. He pulled down the box that sat on the top shelf of his closet and opened the lid. Pictures, concert tickets, notes, mixed CDs, random t-shirts, and postcards were all packed away in the box. Jake dug to the bottom of the box and pulled out the tiny light blue ring box and opened it. The pear-shaped diamond ring glared up at him in mockery.
———————————————
“Have you ever thought about the future?” You asked him, as you were both relaxing in the bathtub. Jake had a stressful day at work and just wanted to relax. You had made him something to eat and draw a bath.
“Of course,” Jake said, kissing your bare shoulder, “I think about it a lot, what I’m doing next week, or next month, or even next year,”
“Do you ever think of our future?” You asked softly.
“I-I uh, yeah sometimes. But I like where we are,” Jake said and you frowned slightly. You had been with Jake since freshman year of high school, right by his side through it all. From giving up your dream of going to UT, and moving to Maryland while he went to the academy, to waiting with other partners and spouses for him to come off the carrier after a deployment.  You loved Jake, you really did, but you were hoping for more, you wanted more.
“I think about getting married,” You said and sighed into Jake, “Something small, probably in my parents’ backyard on a beautiful summer night. I want that perfect day, where you just wake up and say, ‘Let’s get married’, nothing too crazy. I told my mom I won’t just go to the courthouse.”
“Yeah,” was all Jake could say.
“What?” You asked, turning your head to look at him, “You don’t… you don’t see that?”
“It’s not that I don’t see it, it’s that I don’t want it.”
“Oh,” You nodded. There was a beat of silence, until you pushed yourself up from Jake’s embrace.
“Wait, Y/N,” Jake said reaching out to you as you grabbed your towel.
“The water is getting cold,” You said and dried yourself off, before heading into the bathroom.
Jake cursed himself and got out of the bathtub, grabbing his towel and following you. You sat on the bed and looked at Jake with tears in your eyes. You had this sinking feeling for a while. Like things were bound to break between you. You loved Jake, you really did, and every day it felt like you were falling more in love with him. He always did something new to make you fall in love. Whether it was surprising you with some new recipe, bringing you home your favorite flowers, to sending you postcards from where ever he was in the world. But lately, all that had seemed to stop. You had slowly wondered if maybe, just maybe, Jake wasn’t in love with you anymore.
“Y/N…” Jake said your name softly.
“When did you fall out of love?”
“What-“
“Jake, please,” You asked him, tears now running down your face.
“I love you, Y/N, I really do. But I- My career is just starting to take off. I. . .,” Jake sighed, “I- I don’t want to be holding you back from everything that you want.”
“You don’t want to hold me back, or you don’t want me holding YOU back?”
Jake sighed and looked down at his feet. Truth was, he didn’t want to hold you back. He could see the small changes in you. You had decided to change your major from education to business, something that you insisted was what you wanted. He noticed that your grades had slipped, your GPA the lowest it had ever been. You had spent more time at home, next to him, than hanging out with your friends. Jake didn’t want to hurt you, but he wanted you to follow your dreams, even if that meant having to break his and your heart. Jake took a deep breath and grabbed your hands.
“I’m breaking up with you,” He said and bit the bullet. You closed your eyes and Jake was fighting the urge to wipe the tears from your eyes. A sob left your pink lips and you pulled your hands from his, “I’m sorry-“
“Just shut up, Jake,” You said and pushed yourself up from the bed. You walked into the bathroom and slammed it shut, locking the door behind you. You gripped the sides of the sink and sobbed. Jake listened on the other side of the door as you threw everything off the counter, and could hear the breaking of the mirror as you threw a hairbrush at it. Jake changed into his pajamas and then set some out for you. He wrote a note that he was going to stay at Josh’s for the night.
The next morning you woke up to a cold bed and a pounding headache. You looked around the empty room and sighed. You began with the closet, dumping all your clothes into your suitcase, leaving behind the stuff that Jake had either bought you or gifted you. You packed away all your underwear, socks, and makeup. The apartment slowly became bare as you packed your little trinkets and decorations away. You had hoped to get most of it done before Jake came back, but you weren’t that lucky.
“Where are you going?” Jake asked, walking into the apartment and seeing your bags by the front door.
“My sister’s house,” You said and Jake looked at you confused. This was the first time you had mentioned a sister, and he had been dating you for over 5 years, “You don’t know her, she’s a half-sister,”
“Okay… this is really it?”
“Yeah,” You said softly as you looked down at the item in your hand, a picture from your first date, taken when you were both 13. Your parents wouldn’t let you go alone, so Jake’s older sister and her boyfriend at the time had to tag along. She took the picture and Jake gave it to you as a gift on your first anniversary, “Here,” You handed Jake the picture.
“No, no, keep it.”
“I can’t,” You said, your voice breaking. You placed your hand on Jake’s cheek, and kissed his lips softly, one last time, “Goodbye, Jake. Be good to yourself, okay?”
“I will, Y/N. I love you,”
You couldn’t bring yourself to say it back, as you grabbed your bags and walked out the front door. Jake bit his lip as he watched you walk out the door and out of his life.
———————————-
You looked half dead, as you sat in the makeup chair, bright and early on your wedding day. You had tried to go to sleep, but you tossed and turned the whole night. You had thought about running away, getting your car, and driving off to god knows where, but you couldn’t bring yourself to do it. Instead, you took some melatonin and slept for about 4 hours, until Natasha burst through your door with her unusually high amount of energy. You were just happy she brought you red bull and donuts.
“You look like shit?” Natasha said as she poured you a mimosa.
“I feel like it,” you reached your hand out for the glass.
“Oh my god,” She said and pulled the glass back, “Are you pregnant?!”
“No!” You yelled, “Give me the damn drink,”
“Fiesty,” She laughed and handed you the glass, “I steamed your dress, its hanging up in the bathroom,”
“Thank you,” You answered, “The boys?”
“I talked to Billy’s brother, Steven, he said they are up and moving. But, if you were wondering Rooster said that they are ALL on their way,”
“He’s coming?”
Natasha gave you a small smile and nodded, before going over to where the rest of your bridesmaids were. You looked up at your makeup artist and smiled as she placed false eyelashes on your eyes. You had tried to keep yourself from shaking with anxiety over seeing Jake, but you couldn’t help it. You had brushed it off as wedding day jitters. For the rest of the morning, you and your bridesmaids drank and ate a light breakfast that your parents had provided. You had a photographer taking pictures of you guys as you got ready. The bridesmaid dresses you had picked were emerald green, and you let them pick their own design. You sucked in a breath, as Natasha zipped the back of your dress. You stared at yourself in the mirror, and could hardly recognize the person in the mirror. The dress you and Billy had picked out was a classic style dress, with a deep v-cut, lace sleeves that went down to your wrists, and an open back. Billy said you looked like Princess Kate, but you felt more like Princess Di.
“Absolutely breathtaking,” Natasha said and You smiled, trying to make yourself feel better, “They want a first look. You okay with that?”
“I mean, Billy picked the dress out, so why not,”
Natasha smiled and walked out of the bedroom. You blinked and stared up at the ceiling, trying not to cry. You took a deep breath and then headed out of the bathroom. You looked up from your shoes to be shocked by the 3 men standing in front of you, one noticeably missing.
“Well god damn, Y/N, you can clean up nicely,” Javy said You laughed and walked over and hugged him.
“Like our very own princess,” Bob said.
“Thank you,” You said looking at all of them. You could feel a certain pair of blue eyes burning into you, “I can’t believe you guys actually came!”
“Well, my girlfriend is your maid of honor,” Javy said, putting his arm around Natasha’s waist.
“She’s the best maid of honor I could ask for,” You smiled at her.
“Speaking of which, we gotta get going. Can’t be late for your own wedding,” Natasha said and your face faltered.
“Yeah,” You said hoping none of them noticed the change in your demeanor, of course the oldest twin did.
“Alright, let’s get going okay,” Natasha said and the boys nodded, following her out of the room, all except Bob who hung back a second.
“You look amazing,” Bob said, “He would be here, but he just couldn’t see you quite yet.”
“Thank you, Bob,” You said honestly. He kissed your cheek and then left your room.
“You ready?” Natasha asked, coming back into the room. You nodded and grabbed the champagne bottle that was next to you. Natasha watched with wide eyes as you downed the rest of the bottle, “Liquid courage?”
“If I do something dumb, you promise to support me?”
Natasha squinted her eyes at you, “Depends on what dumb thing you’re thinking about doing.”
“We’ll have to see,”
The church was decorated beautifully, white roses and emerald green flowers were mixed in and decorated the altar. Javy sat on Jake’s right and Rooster on the left. Jake’s eyes were locked on his shoes as Billy and his parents made their way down the aisle. Rooster nudged him as your mom and brother made their way down the aisle. Your mom sent Jake a warm smile, making his heart beat faster in his chest. The look in her eyes was one that Jake had seen far too often.
‘That should be you.’
“What if I stop the wedding?” Jake asked Javy.
“Don’t even think about it Jacob,” Javy whispered harshly.
“You saw how unhappy she is!”
“She’s nervous, it’s her damn wedding day!” Javy snapped.
“Stop, Natasha is walking down,” Bob said noticing his WSO walking down with your fiancé’s brother. Natasha winked at the boys, as she took her spot right next to wear you would stand at the alter.
Jake’s heart fell to his ass as he heard that oh-so-familiar wedding march and everyone stood up, to look to the back of the church. The doors opened Jake’s breath caught in his throat. You were breathtaking, the dress hugging your body perfectly. Jake couldn’t help but wish that was for him. Your eyes were locked on Billy, as tears left his eyes. You had tried to dig deep in your heart and remember why you were going to marry him, but everything was drawing up a blank. The aisle felt like it was miles long, and you hated everyone’s eyes on you. When you got to the end of the aisle, Billy stepped down to take you from your father.
“Who gives this woman, to this man?” The priest asked.
“Her mother, and I,” Your dad said. He turned to you and hugged you, “Jake is here,” You went to move your head to look for him but your dad kept you from moving, “Make the right choice,” You nodded and kissed his cheek before pulling back and stepping up on the altar.
“Ladies and gentlemen, you maybe be seated,” The priest said and You handed Natasha your bouquet, your eyes searching the crowd of people, and finally landing on those familiar brown eyes, “Welcome, we are gathered here today to witness the symbolic ceremony of love between these two young people, Y/N M/N L/N and Billy Fritz Avalon. Is there anybody who believes that these two shouldn’t be married, speak now or forever hold your peace,”
Y/N closed her eyes and waited for someone to say something. Jake was about to stand before Javy grabbed his arm and held him down. He looked at his wingman with wide eyes, but the boy just shook his head and pointed toward you. Jake looked at you and locked eyes with him, as the priest was reading some passage about marriage and what it means in the Bible. Jake could read it in your eyes, you were really going through with this. Jake saw his window of opportunity finally close and the stages of grief started settling in his chest. He leaned back against the pew and tried to keep from crying.
“Billy, do you take Y/N, to have and to hold, to honor and treasure, to be at her side in sorrow and in joy, in the good times and bad, in sickness and health, for rich or for poor, to love and cherish her always until the moment of your last breath?”
“I do,” Billy said giving your hand a squeeze.
“Y/N,” The priest said, basically startling you, “Do you take Billy, to have and to hold, to honor and treasure, to be at his side in sorrow and in joy, in the good times and bad, in sickness and death, for rich or for poor, to love and cherish him always until the moment of your last breath?”
You looked at the priest and then at Billy, “I…,” You quickly glanced over to Jake, whose green eyes were locked on you. You swallowed and looked back at Billy, “I-”
“No,” A voice from the crowd spoke. You snapped your head towards the audience, seeing Jake standing up and the look of shock on everyone’s face.
“Hangman, what the,” Billy asked, dropping your hands and turning towards him.
“You never wanted to get married in a Church,” Jake said, pushing past Rooster and Bob, to stand in the middle of the aisle, “You said the church of Elvis was fine, but nothing like. . . this,” Jake gestured around, “You want the wedding where you wake up and say ‘let’s get married’. You want to eat hot dogs and mac’n’cheese in your parents’ backyard and light off fireworks.”
Tears gathered in your eyes as Jake stepped closer to you, and you took a step down from the altar.
“You want to jump off the dock at the lake house in your wedding dress because the lake has good luck in it and you believe in that stuff,” Jake licked his lips, “This isn’t you. . .” You nodded and Jake wiped away a stray tear with his thumb, “What do you say? Wanna get out of here?”
“Yes please,” You said, as you grabbed Jake’s hand. The church erupted in chaos as the two of you ran towards the doors.
“The hell did you say to her!?” Your mom asked your father, hitting him lightly on the chest.
“I just told her to make the right choice,” Your dad said smugly, “Never liked Buster anyway.”
“It’s Billy!”
You and Jake were bursting with laughter as you sprinted to his car. Jake had helped gather your dress in the car, before shutting the door carefully and jumping into the driver’s seat. Neither of you guys said anything as you drove away from the church. You weren’t sure where you were driving to, and it honestly didn’t matter. You looked over at Jake, who had a smile on his face as he grabbed your hand, and kissed your knuckles.
But suddenly, the fate of the decision hit you like a ton of bricks.
“Stop the car,” You said.
Jake looked over at you, “What?”
“Stop the damn car!” You yelled. Jake complied and pulled the car over, putting it in park. You got out instantly, running towards the woodline, the soft rain falling on you. Jake watched as you tried to catch your breath. He walked to the other side of his BMW, and leaned against the passenger door as you paced.
“I ran away,” You said eyes wide. You turned to face him, “I just ran away from the altar!”
“Yes, you did,” Jake nodded.
“A-and because of you!” You yelled.
“I’m sorry,” Jake said, honestly. Guilt was swimming in his green eyes as you looked at him. He looked as bad as you felt. His suit was wrinkled, his hair slightly a mess from running his hands through it, his five o’clock shadow settling on his face.
“Why? Why did it take you so long?” You asked and Jake looked at you.
“I was scared,” He admitted, “I was scared of coming back and ruining what you had built. You went back to education, got your degree, you’re living your dream, and I…. I didn’t want to get in the way again.”
You shook your head and walked up to him. You grabbed his hand, “Dance with me,”
Jake nodded and turned up the car radio. The sweet sound of Aretha Franklin’s Natural Woman’ filled your eardrums. Jake grabbed you softly and pulled you into him as he swayed with you in the moonlight. You guys lost track of time, as one song faded into the other, and you were both soaked, your dress was ruined.
“Your dress,” Jake said, looking at the dirty train, “I’m sorry, I’ll pay,”
“No, don’t worry about it,” You said and placed your hands on Jake’s face.
Jake’s rough hands carefully gripped the side of your face and pulled his lips against yours. For the first time in nearly 2 years, you were feeling his lips on yours again. You pulled him against you, wanting him to never let you go. He pulled back and rested his forehead against yours. You two didn’t say anything, but you didn’t have to. It was clear, you had made the right choice.
“Marry me,” Jake said and you looked up at him. He reached into his wet suit jacket and pulled out the blue box, “I don’t know what the hell I was thinking, I had this stashed away for the perfect moment but I just got scared. I didn’t want you to put your dreams on the back burner for me, so I let you go.”
“Jake, you dumbass,” You said, “You are my dream.”
“You’re mine too, I can’t believe I almost lost you to-”
“Shh, you have me now.”
“Marry me, please?” Jake asked getting down on one knee. You smiled and tackled him to the ground. He landed with a thud and laughed as he kissed you passionately. You pulled back and slid the ring that was already on your finger, and replaced it with the one Jake had for you, “Looks better.”
“Much better.” You said kissing him again.
3 weeks later, you woke up one morning to a cold bed, but the covers messed up. You looked out the window, seeing the sun shining and making everything glow warmly. You stretched and headed down to your kitchen, where Jake was already making dinner. You greeted him with a kiss and sat down at the table to eat the vegan pancakes he had made.
“We should get married today,” Jake suggested, “Javy got ordained online a couple of months ago and has been itching to use it.”
“My dad’s got a new dinner recipe he wants to try.” You said sipping your orange juice.
“Then it’s settled,” Jake smiled, “Let’s get married today,”
And that’s exactly what you two did. You sent out a text message for everyone to be at your house by 6 for your wedding. Nobody questioned It, knowing this was exactly what you and Jake wanted. Everyone gathered in your backyard, dressed causally for a summer backyard wedding. Jake stood barefoot in the grass as he waited for you to walk out of the house, in a simple white maxi sun dress. Javy was living for this moment to be the official of a wedding, and what better than to be one at his best friend’s wedding?
“Now, we can actually do this right this time,” Javy said winking at you.
“Jake, do you take Y/N-“
“Yes,” Jake said interrupting his brother.
“I have to say the speech, Jacobl,” Javy scolded and everyone chuckled, “Y/N, do you take Jake-“
“I do!” You answered by doing the same.
“You guys are so impatient,” Javy smiled, “Well, by the power vested in me by some officiating website and the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Jake, you may now kiss your bride,”
“Don’t gotta tell me twice,”
You giggled as Jake smashed his lips against yours. Cheers were let out from your family as he dipped you and sealed the deal with a kiss. He set you back on your two feet and grabbed your hand, walking you down the makeshift aisle, finally as husband and wife.

AITA for mocking my math teacher?
a few months ago my school got a new math teacher. this would be fine, if not for the fact that one of the first things she did was ask me (14M) if something was going on at home. along with this, i wad also severely depressed.
not only that, she had told multiple kids that ADHD is not real/that its a myth. my friend (14F, we'll call her c) and i both have adhd, along with many other kids in our class. she just very clearly does not know how to teach neurodivergent kids and it pisses me off every day.
i also had a conversation with her that was like
her: youve been slacking... somethings been off these last few weeks...
me: yeah i did stop taking my adhd meds recently
her: nonono it was a few weeks ago
me: yeah i stopped taking them. a few weeks ago.
her: why?:(
me: well they stopped me from eating so
and she just. walked away😭
so today c and i were sat next to eachother, and c goes to get help with a problem we were both struggling on. c comes back and sits down without a word. a few minutes later, i notice the teacher is basically yelling across the room at c and gaslighting her. telling her that she hadnt said anything about the problem being wrong, blah blah blah.
so a bit later into the class, this teacher comes over to our desk to help me, and says something along the lines of "you guys were talking earlier, you need to focus more ill move you so you can focus better if you dont stop talking" ect ect. c speaks up and says "well its hard for me to focus anywhere" and the teacher just. denies her?? so i say "well we have attention deficit hyperactive disorder so its not really something we can control" and she just kind of. disagrees?? it was weird idk anyways she starts walking away and im mocking her in a low voice which i understand wasnt a great choice but also. she was being a bitch. so she turns around and says "see me after class you two..." like damn okay.
c is also an overachiever so she often goes in for help and a few times shes just been denied help and like ??? you literally offered her help why are you now taking this back
this teacher has also given us a test on the ladt day of the quarter on something that we had been learning for maybe a week or so and it was worth 100 points (tests = 90% of our grade, hw = 10%)
i understand that mocking isnt a great thing to do but this woman has hated me from day one so aita

spinning out, waiting for you to pull me in
“Hey,” Amanda's voice quivers. She physically can't look Angela in the eyes when she greets her. Fuck, this shouldn’t be happening right now. The day has barely started and Amanda already feels like running away from everyone.
Angela looks at her skeptically, “I would say ‘Good morning,’ but you look like yours has been pretty terrible already. Everything okay?”
Amanda collects herself enough to muster a sort-of smile and shrugs. She watches as Angela furrows her brows, contemplating something. Before Amanda can insist that it’s no big deal, she feels herself getting tugged towards the back of the office and led between the costume racks.
“Spill. What’s up with you?”
“It’s nothing, honestly,” God, Amanda feels like she’s a teenager again. It’s stupid that she’s this upset about it.
Angela scoffs and rolls her eyes, “Oh, come on, Amanda. Don’t give me that bullshit. We both know something is wrong,” her tone softens once she sees Amanda’s eyes start to become glassy, “It’s not stupid to be upset.”
She laughs a little, “How did you know that’s what I was thinking?”
“Because I know you. And I’ve never seen you like this before.”
“I appreciate you checking in, Ang,” Amanda sighs, “But I really shouldn’t be getting into it at work.”
“I know we’re coworkers, but we’re friends too, right? It’s fine if you really don’t want to talk about it, but I’m here for you,” she grabs Amanda’s hands and gives them a gentle squeeze. That simple gesture was enough to break down the final brick of Amanda's wall, and suddenly, everything came spilling out.
Two nights ago, she had gotten a call from Ian telling her that she didn’t need to come in for work the next morning, which Angela already knew, seeing as she was the one filling in for Amanda yesterday.
What Angela didn’t know, however, was how Amanda’s jaw tightened when she saw the close friends stories of her coworkers, her friends, having fun while she wasn't there. How she had to stop herself from spiraling as she rewatched the videos over and over again. How disappointed she felt in herself for letting this affect her.
Angela lets go of her hands. Amanda’s heart drops for a moment, thinking that she’s overstepped boundaries and came off immature, until she feels Angela hug her.
“We missed you too, you know?” Angela leans away slightly to look up at Amanda, arms remaining around her waist.
"I hate that I'm feeling this way. It feels so high school of me to be sad about my friends hanging out without me. And it's not even like you all planned to see each other! This is our job and," Amanda bites her lip, hesitant to admit, "I guess the kid in me remembers what it was like to get excluded from things. For the longest time, I was convinced it was a me problem. Maybe I never got over that."
"I get it, but you're right. It's a job where none of us have control over who's scheduled on any given day. It's not just a regular hang out between friends. Because if it was, I want you to believe me when I say we'd want you around every single time."
This time, Amanda is the one that pulls Angela into an embrace, "What would I do without you, Angela?"
"Probably cry alone in the gender-neutral bathroom." Angela laughs.
Amanda has to admit, Smosh is a pretty sweet gig. After all, it brought Angela into her life.

ANYONE BUT HER 4
JANIS IMI-IKE X FEM READER
PART ONE PART TWO PART THREE
Warnings - smoking, alcohol, drugs, swearing, cheating, mentions of anxiety. janis being adorable.
The POV switches between reader and Janis (I use — when I change the POV)
there will be more parts to this, make sure to re-blog and comment and I will get the next few parts up as soon as I can, happy reading lovelies
Tumblr media
"hey y/n wait up" i hear Damien's voice echo through the nearly empty halls of Northshore. i turn to see the boy a few feet away from me, he makes quick work of speed walking over. "you headed to gym?" he queries. i nod fixing the strap on my backpack "yeah, wanna walk together?" i look over to see Janis walking down the hall towards us. i send her a sweet smile, only two days ago we where in the art classroom kissing, we have been getting closer by the day. she walks over and slings her arm over my shoulder with a smirk. "so gym?" she looks between me and Damien.
after walking to class we end up being told to go change because our first lesson we would be doing athletics. to this i smile knowing athletics would be a breeze for me. i look over my shoulder to see Janis already changed clad in some grey sweatpants and a dark blue tank top. i laugh a little at her annoyed look before turning around, changing into my own grey Nike sweats and a black Nike hoodie.
out on the fields we meet back up with Damien who is wearing shorts and a white t-shirt. i laugh at both of them, earning death glares. "you two are going to freeze" they look at me as if im crazy.
Tumblr media
half an hour or so into the lesson i am running the 100 meters and lock eyes with Janis who is stood at the side with Damien, both of them have their arms crossed over their torsos, clearly cold from the bitter morning air, the fact that neither of them have made an attempt to join in would also be contributing to the fact that they are cold. i send them both a mocking smirk while continuing to run. i hit the 100 meters point and another student clicks the stop button on the stopwatch. smiling they call the teacher over, he looks at the timing and pats my shoulder "think about joining the track team yeah, also please try to get those two to participate or they will get a fail" he pushes me in the direction off who i assume would be Janis and Damien but damn how i was wrong. i look up and see none other than Regina George and Karen Shetty. i go to walk away from them but one of them stops me, their hand landing on my forearm "hey you're y/n right?" i turn to see the one and only Regina George is talking to me. i nod and try to walk away again, those are not the people i want to associate with. "im sorry about what happened between you and Bea, what she done was really fucked up." the blonde speaks up again, this time i turn around to face her, she has a sincere smile on her face. "you do know im not just the tragic lesbian who got cheated on, im also your boyfriends sister" i say with a chuckle, she also laughs and walks closer to me "i know, so tell me does your brother like Mexican food?" she smiles a sweet smile. i laugh and nod "yeah he does a lot, here give me your snapchat and ill send you the directions to his favourite place." i roll my eyes back to her. she's actually not as bad as people say. she puts her snapchat in my phone and she adds me back, we say out farewells and i make my way back to a confused Damien and a jealous looking Janis. "did she seriously just get your number?" Janis says going red in the face. i laugh a little and put my hand on her cheek, "hey no don't worry she was just asking about Aaron" i half lie, not wanting Janis to go middle- school sissy les- bunson burner on Regina again and get suspended again.
she lets the topic go and shivers a little, i laugh and look at her "i told you that you will be cold" i say while taking my hoodie off and handing it to her, she looks at me for a few seconds, beginning to blush before taking the hoodie out of my hands and thanking me, she puts it on and smiles. i grab her hand and lift it up for her to spin, she laughs and obliges, but not without rolling her eyes first. once we are both face to face she pauses, locking eyes with someone behind me, which causes her to let go of my hand and avoid eye contact. i turn to look at who made her freeze up all of a sudden and see Bea, Jason and Shane stood about five meters away. i lock eyes with Bea who looks furious as she stomps over, arm linked with Jason's. they come up to me and Janis. Janis steps in front of me just as Shane goes to swing at me, she merely blocks his punch and is shoved out of the way while Shane comes closer to me. he lands most of his punches before i retaliate, i shove him and kick him in the balls, making him topple over, i then kick him in the knee so he cant stand up, i go to hit him in the face when i am dragged away by the coach, Janis grabs my hand to calm me down. the coach tells Shane to go clean up and tells me to go to the principle's office.
Janis follows me and drags me into the bathroom, pulling me towards the sinks. she lifts me up and sits me down before grabbing a stack of paper towels, wetting half of them and coming towards me. she stands between my legs and places the wet paper towel on my bloody eyebrow, wiping the blood off, making me squirm under her touch. "shh its okay baby, I'm here" she says grabbing my chin with her left hand and using her right to wipe blood off of my face, our faces inches apart our eyes locked in on each others. her left hand leaves my chin and finds its way to my waist.
"y/n y/l/n i swear to fucking god if you get suspended on my second day of school here i will literally kill you." the bathroom door slams open and incomes a worried Tess, she is holding her books and phone. she sees what she has walked in on and slowly backs away with her books covering her face. "i totally just cockblocked yall" she shrieks happily before snapping a photo and running out of the bathroom.
Tumblr media
----
"hello miss y/l/n i have been informed that you had a little bit of a fight earlier. " Mr Duvall states with a serious face. i sit opposite him with my head down, looking at the floor beneath me. "we have two choices here. either i have to suspend you or you agree to an plea deal." he leans forward a little knowing he has me trapped in his little trap. "and what deal would that be?" i say rolling my eyes. "you tutor Janis Imi-ike in drama, gym and Spanish" he says with a smile thinking he has me trapped. luckily for me this is perfect.
---------
[with Damien and the girls]
"so how do we get the two lovers together?" Damien turns to cady who is sat next to him jotting down math problems, she looks up and shrugs at the boy. "hey look its Tess" she says as the other girl comes running over to the two, phone in hand, her arms flailing, she looks like a loony as she plops herself down next to the two. "you will NEVER guess what i just walked in on" she screams dramatically, making the other two friends cringe. Damien catches a glimpse of the photo she has opened on her phone and practically screams. "TESSA GEORGE no you did not" he hits the girl multiple times as the girl holds the phone up to his face, revealing what she indeed did walk in on just moments ago. "this may be easier than we thought then guys" cady interrupts the others screaming. "shh Janis is coming she cant know our secret plan" Damien hushes the girls just in time as Janis reaches the tree and sits down.
"that girl will be the death of me" she sighs but is nudged by Damien "girl shut the hell up, you have been hopelessly in love with her since middle school, and the time when she gives you an ounce of attention you try to back away and pretend to hate her guts." he glares at his best friend while Cady and Tess sit watching in shock
"you should totally tell her Janis, yes Bea has fucked with her for years but i know that you are good for her and she is good for you. i wont let you dismiss your feelings for my best friend."
"how would i even tell her?" Janis says looking at Tess, which in turn earns a shit eating grin.

Chapter four~ dear Billy
A hand on your cheek, that’s the thing that woke you up this morning. His fingers going over your face softly. You open your eyes seeing Eddie laying infrond of you.
“Did I sleep the whole night? Is this like the next day?” You look worried.
“yeah but it’s okay, you told your mom you will be with Gareth right? She’s probably not gonna worry about it.” He calms you down. Alice is still sleeping between you two. You kiss her forehead and you rub her belly softly.
“you are a very good mom you know that?” Eddie watches you.
You smiles, “you’re a better dad”.
“No definitely not. I already knew your were gonna be a good mom before she was born.” He wraps his arm around your waist. You smile giving him a pec.
“I love you”
“love you too” he gives a lil pec back. You were both looking at Alice in a comfortable silence.
“you going home?” He looks up at you again.
“I think so, I’ve gotta shower and get food for us.”you sit up.
“Is your mom home?”
“No. She always works on this day.” You shake your head.
“are you with your car then?” He has a plan you can hear that in the way he talks.
“uh yes? What’s your plan?” You grin at him.
“Going with you.”
“but they are looking for you everywhere baby” you stroke your hands through his hair.
“Your home in not on the middle of town. It’s far enough from the police station. Dustin and the others are not visiting me today, and I’ll be careful. Please.” He gives you those puppy eyes.
You shake your head, “fine Eddie.” You smile a bit.
“maybe we can give Alice her first bath together.” He smiles.
“okay okay.” You get up.
“I should sit down again, cause she probably wants to eat right now” he points at yawning Alice with open eyes.
“ill do it when I pack the bag then”you shrug your shoulders. He grabs your wrist and pulls you down.
“sit. I’ll do it.” He gets up already.
“fine” you giggle and pick Alice up carefully. She look at you tearing up already.
“ I know I know… I’ll feed you and then we’ll take care of your diaper.” You smile softly. Then you pull your shirt up to let Alice drink.
———
“got everything?” Eddie says while looking at you.
“yep.”
“You feed Alice and give her a new diaper?”
“check.” You smile at him.
You open the door carefully then you look around. No one to see. And it’s so silent you will hear a car from far away.
“come” you whisper and run to your car. Eddie nods and runs after you with the bag. Being really careful with Alice in your jacket. You open the car and you get in the frond seat and Eddie in the bagseat. You pull the blanket over him.
“can you still breath?” You chuckle.
“yes but I would like some company”
“lucky you. I have some company in my jacket!” You smile and give him Alice. He takes her and lays her on his chest.
“I think she can breathe, what do you think?” You look at the blanket.
“seriously? She’s been in your belly for 9 months without breathing. Ofcourse she can.”
“that’s not really how it works love” you laugh and start the car.
“well then she will cry if she can’t anyways” he holds the blanket open just a lil bit for fresh air.
“Im gonna drive baby, I’ll be careful for you two” you give gass, not much but you are on your way home. You turn the radio on with I love rock n roll softly on the background. You listen to Eddie mumbling to Alice under the blanket.
“did you know your mom is gonna be the greatest tattoo artist.” He tells Alice. It makes you smile. You were in your final year on high school. That means you also gotta need a job to do. You liked drawing a lot so now you gonna be a tattoo artist. You made a tattoo on your cousins arm before you took your break for being pregnant.
The tattoo turned out pretty good for your fist one and your cousin was happy with it. And that’s the most important thing. Eddie thinks it so cool, he is already saying for nine months he wants his sons or now daughters name on his chest tattooed.
“you still want her name on your chest darling?” You focus on the road.
“abso-fucking-lutely.” He sound suddenly a lot more happy. It made you giggle.
“maybe I can give you it now?”
“yes! Would be amazing!” You can hear him smile from under the blanket.
“then I’m gonna” you smile also and then you park at your home in the garage. You moms car was not there but she always leaves it open. You get out and close the door of it. Now none outside can see you. You open the door for Eddie and Alice.
“safe?” He asks looking around.
“Safe.” You nod with a smile. Eddie smiles back gently and gets out of the car. The garage had a door that went straight into the hall of your house, so you two go through there.
“If you give me her you can take a shower upstairs. Make sure you don’t stand infrond of a window or anything people outside can see you.” You take Alice from him.
“okay” he nods and starts walking upstairs.
“I’ll make breakfast and close the curtains, you can come downstairs if you’re done.” You walk into the living room leaving the door open.
You hear his last little “okay”.
You walk into the living room holding Alice against your chest in one hand, with the other you get a blanket and a pillow. The you walk into the kitchen and put the blanket in the sink and also the pillow. “you can chill in hire now” you put her pacifier in her mouth with putting her down in the sink.
“mama is gonna cook some jummy breakfast for daddy and mommy” you tickle her feet. She tries to kick your hands away with her little feet, there were also coming some kind of giggles sounds out of her mouth. You smile and open the fridge, getting some strawberries and milk out of it.
Ontop of the counter lays fresh bread that your mom got probably yesterday. Then you put the bread in the over to make them warm a bit. You get two plates and put on the bread the strawberries and sugar. Next to that a bowl some cereal. For both of you one. You never made breakfast but it looked good?
You put it on the table and then you close the curtains in the kitchen and everywhere else downstairs except for the window that only sees your backyard. You turn some lights and candles on.
“smells very good baby.” Eddie hugs you from behind looking at Alice in the sink. He had just a towel around his waist.
“Me or the breakfast?” You tease him.
“ask that question again after you took a shower”he chuckles.
“youre meannn.” You turn to him and giggle a bit too. Eddie kisses your forehead and sits on a chair by the table. You get Alice on your lap and you both start eating.
———
When you both are almost finish eating Eddie puts his hand on yours. You look up at him.
“can I tell you something?” He smiles gently.
“you don’t have to ask baby.” You smile back having no idea what you can expect.
“I’ve loved you all those years we are together-“you cut him off.
“….but?” You look at him.
“No but silly. Let me finish” he giggles and kisses your cheek.
“Well.. i love you so much. And all of this means very much to me. I can’t wish for a better girlfriend. You gave birth to our kid and instead of resting to choose to help me. And I was thinking… if I get out all of this shit i ..-uh…If you want to ofcourse…then maybe I can make you a Munson..? I wanna marry you and want everyone to know you’re mine.” He looks at you nervous for your awnser.
“Really?” You smile big. And Eddie nods.
“I mean if you want we can take your last name too?” He looks still at you.
“why would i? Munson is a perfect name, and it definitely will fit me” you wink. And it made Eddie giggle.
“oh I know.”he grins. You giggle and you holds his hand.
“hire let me bring the princess to her bed” he kisses your knuckles and gets up. Alice had fallen asleep a pretty long time ago.
“I need to shower too soooo I’ll walk with you” you get up also giving Alice to Eddie.
“Alright.” Eddie kisses your head and you both walk upstairs. You walk into your room and so does Eddie.
“hire you go baby” he kisses her head and lays her in her crib carefully, then he covers her up with the blanket.
“does her socks need to get off?” He looks at you.
“no, she’ll get a cold maybe”
“babe…Its literally pring and not cold outside” he looks down at Alice again.
“just leave them on Eds” you turn back to the closet and you grab panties and a outfit. He hugs you from behind again.
“Eddie what do you have today?” You giggle and go with your fingers over his arm.
“whaaat? im just hugging my girlfriend because I love her.” He kisses your head multiple times.
“Well I love you too” you looks at Eddies side of the closet and grab boxers and a outfit.
“put it on. I can feel your boner.” You throw the stuff on your bed.
“fine fine. Not my fault, my hot chicks fault.”he chuckles.
“Im sorry baby but I’m way to tired to have sex right now..” you lean your head on his back.
“I didn’t ask you to babe. Let’s take a nap together after you took your shower. Cuddles are enough, I don’t want anything from you” his words made you smile.
———-
You put your outfit on while Eddie lays already on bed. When you finish that you get kon bed and crawl next to him. Eddie pulls the blanket over you and holds his warm hands on your belly. He put your shirt up to look at it.
“Its still so cute and big.. Awh and those stretch marks” he kisses them.
“they are literally ugly babe…” you shake your head.
“no cause our little one leaves them on you, so it’s a memory babe. I love them.”
“Yeah, okay that’s true.” He kisses your cheek and wraps his arms around you. You cuddle up to him.
“take a nap baby” he goes with his hand trough your hair and you enjoy it very much.
“feels good, keep doing that” you whisper almost falling asleep already. Eddie chuckles
“not planning to stop darling.” He whispers back.
———
“No I swear I did nothing Mr.” You open your eyes and you see your dad yelling at Eddie.
“I saw it on the goddamn news. Now get away from my daughter.” Your dad yells at him. Eddie signs and swallows.
“m sorry babe…” he looks down at you ready to get up.
You sit up quickly, “ no dad please I need him. Very much.” Eddie stops moving.
“he murdered a girl y/n.”
“he didn’t. I know it and I’ll belive him in either way!!” You scream at your dad.
“it’s okay it’s rea-“ Eddie tries to calm your down and he rubs your back.
“he has to go for you own safety. end of the discussion.”
“i gave birth to his kid. I really can use some of his help. And if you dont let me… I’ll go with him.” Your dad sighs.
“does your mother know he’s hire?” Your dad looks straight into your soul.
“no but you are never home so you both shouldn’t mind.” You sounded mad.
“Fine. I’m in the backyard.” Your dad slams the door shut. Eddie tears up and you turn to him.
“hey hey, don’t cry baby. I would never think you’re dangerous or something. I trust you and I believe the story the others told you” you hold his head against your chest.
“im so sorry..” he sobs.
“you don’t have to be darling” you go with your hands through his hair.
“but your dad is scared of me and he doesn’t trust me around your or our daughter…”
“he’s a asshole. Can I make your happy with something?”
“what.?” He wipes his tears away
“your choice. I can make you some food, or we can listen to music, smoke or maybe you even want a tattoo?”
“They all sound good, I like that tattoo the most.” Eddie grins a bit with still tears on his cheek. You wipe them off
“you have a idea what you want then?” You look at him.
“Alice her name.” He points at his chest.
“on your chest?” Eddie nods, you get up and get your stuff from under your bed. You just lay it there always. You get your notebook and sit down next to him. Eddie lays down between your arms on your chest so he can see what you’re drawing.
10 minutes later you finish your 3rd design. Eddie looks at them. And thinks about your last and first dawning.
“i thinkkkkkk…. I want the first one.” He nods.
“alright take your shirt off then.” You get your stuff. Eddie sits up and takes his shirt off, he lays down next to you and you get the gloves on. You shave the part where the tattoo comes and you so some other things before you start making the actual tattoo. Eddie is a pussy he has tears in his eyes and asks for breaks every 3 minutes and it makes you laugh.
“a metalhead having a lot tattoos but still he is a pussy.” You giggle.
“stop ittt”
“uh uh don’t talk.” You continue again. You’re almost done. The name on his chest fits him amazing.
“all done.” You wipe some inkt off and put something on it. Eddie gets up and looks in the mirror with a big smile.
“metal?” You look at his happy face.
“metal.” He nods.
to be continued…
———-
Im sorry it took a bit longer.. but I hope you enjoyed it!

Hey Mom, Dead Mom
Chapter 2: No more playing daddy’s game, I’ll go insane if things don’t change
I suffered for this chapter. it was fighting me every single step of the way but it’s finally finished. I can rest now. this isn’t as dark as the last chapter but Cole is running away in this, so it’s still not very happy. also I did indeed make a couple of random ocs because how else was I supposed to advance the plot? they’re not returning any time soon. as always, this is cross posted to ao3
~
Cole got on the plane to MOSPA at exactly eleven in the morning on a Sunday. He traveled alone — Dad was unable to come with him. Other people at the airport gave strange looks to the unaccompanied twelve-year-old, reminding him of the looks he got after Mom died. “Oh, why is that little boy all alone? So strange,” and then they’d go about their day, not giving him a second thought.
The flight attendant in front of him right now was doing just that. “No parents?” She asked, face mildly concerned.
Cole shook his head. “I’m going to visit my grandma, but Dad couldn’t come,” he lied. Cole was good at lying. He’d done it a lot these past few years; you couldn’t take care of yourself the way Cole had without at least some lying.
The attendant gave him a small smile. Maddy, her name tag read. “Well, if you need anything, just call.”
“Okay, thanks, Ms.”
Maddy nodded and continued walking, greeting the other passengers. Cole fidgeted in his seat. The fabric covering it was itchy and the seatbelt was too tight. The man sitting next to him scrolled through his phone, music blaring loudly, and the old lady behind him was snoring. Not even off the ground yet and this flight was already torture. Cole resisted the urge to groan.
It was only a two hour flight, Cole could do this. But he hated planes so much — always had. Not being on the ground made him feel ill, and every bit of turbulence was terrifying. At least he had the window seat, though that didn’t do much to soothe his nerves. Being able to see how high up he was might make Cole feel worse.
The crackling of a speaker interrupted his panicking. The sounds it made were loud and screechy. “Please fasten your seatbelts and put all devices on airplane mode. We will be taking off shortly,” the announcements said.
Finally. Cole dug through his backpack and found his book. Fish in a Tree, the title read. He’d found it at the school book sale but had never gotten around to reading it. Now was his chance.
He’d barely gotten past the first chapter before they took off. Cole actually felt it when they did — it was like getting severed from a part of him. He felt sick, though throwing up wouldn’t achieve anything. It would probably make him feel worse. Cole settled for putting the book down and staring blankly at the seat in front of him instead. He wouldn’t be able to focus on the book, or anything at all, not when his stomach was lurching so badly.
Just two hours, he told himself. Then I can collapse on a bed and sleep. He repeated those words over and over like a mantra.
~
As it turned out, Cole was not able to immediately sleep once he arrived at MOSPA, because he had to check in. Check in, as if the school was a hotel. Or maybe a prison, which would be much more accurate.
“It’s great that you’re here, Nicholas,” the secretary smiled cheerily as she typed on her computer. “I’m sure you’ll love this school. We’re all one big family.”
Yeah, right. Every time a school said that they didn’t mean anything by it. In fact, it meant there was probably all sorts of bullying that went ignored. “It’s just Cole, not Nicholas. Nobody calls me that,” Cole said. He hated his full name — who agreed to let his grandfather pick it out? ‘Nicholas’ was an old-person name from at least a hundred years ago.
“Okay, then, Cole. I’ve got your dorm number and schedule here,” the secretary printed out a sheet of paper. “Do you need a map of the school?”
Cole shook his head. He had spent some of the flight looking at the floor plans and they were seared into his brain at this point. “I’ll be fine, thank you,” he hurried out before she could offer to have someone show him around. He didn’t want that kind of forced social interaction.
The dormitories were not hard to find, not with the giant sign that pointed to where they were. Cole opened the door, cursing when it was stuck, and shoved everything to the side before closing it again. He didn’t see a roommate anywhere, but it was a weekend, so everyone was probably out. That was good, it meant he had a couple hours alone; he could use the time to unpack and explore the school.
Cole shoved all his clothes into the closet and shoes under the bed. MOSPA had a strict uniform policy, so he wouldn’t be able to wear any casual clothing, nor his combat boots. That was a shame — he really liked those boots. They had served well when he got into fights. And they added another sorely needed three inches to his height, another advantage.
Any books that he’d brought were put onto the desk. Items such as stationery and notebooks were placed in drawers. Miscellaneous trinkets were placed in a box under the bed and his toiletries in another box. Cole pushed the suitcases into the corner. There wasn’t anywhere else to put them, but he’d figure it out later. Right now he wanted to take a nap and not wake up for a month. Screw exploring the school, he could do that tomorrow.
Cole closed the curtains, pulled the covers over his head, and went to sleep.
~
MOSPA, as Cole found out in the span of a month, was its own special brand of hell. The students there hated Cole for always messing up and acting strange, as if grieving for a loved one was something to make fun of. The teachers hated him for not talking or making eye contact and always zoning out. Everybody seemed to agree that he was the weird kid who should be avoided at all costs. His roommate, a kid named John, disliked him enough that he asked to be put in a different dorm.
“Thanks for messing up again, Brookstone,” one of his classmates sneered. Brant Green, yet another asshole who existed to make Cole miserable. “You ruined the whole performance.”
It hadn’t been Cole’s fault. Another student had purposefully tripped him, causing him to fall and knock over several people. “Yeah, I did. What’s your point?” He tried not to flip off Brant. That would just cause more trouble, trouble he couldn’t risk. The teachers hated him enough already.
“How’d you even get into this school? I thought you needed to have talent to get in,” Brant spat.
“Do I look like I want to be here? I hate this place,” Cole stood up and glared at the taller boy. Brant was a good head taller than him, unfortunately.
Brant didn’t seem to know what to say to that. Perhaps he’d thought Cole was going here willingly, though how he’d come to that conclusion was a mystery. He gave Cole another sneer and walked away.
Cole rolled his eyes and went back to his lunch. For all its faults, at least this school had good food. The chicken salad was pretty tasty.
A large group chattered next to him. One of them gave him the side eye. “That’s the Brookstone kid,” she said, loud enough for Cole to hear. “His dad’s a Royal Blacksmith. Isn’t it weird how he didn’t get any of the family talent?”
Cole scowled and looked down at the table. He stabbed his lunch with more force than was needed.
“Nicholas Brookstone to the office, Nicholas Brookstone to the office,” a speaker sounded. All eyes turned to him. Cole looked down at the floor and wondered if he could just die right there in the cafeteria. It would save everyone a lot of trouble.
A kid coughed from the table in front of him. Awkward, Cole thought. What had he done this time? There wasn’t anything recent he’d done to warrant this.
It took five minutes for the school to realise he wasn’t moving any time soon. They all went back to their conversations, and Cole snuck out the side entrance. He had always been good at going unnoticed.
Cole walked through the halls briskly and knocked on the office door. He was let in by the guidance counsellor, a lady in her forties with platinum blonde hair. “Nicholas, we need to talk about your behaviour,” she said as they sat down.
“I haven’t been in any more fights,” Cole said. It was true.
“Your teachers say that you don’t pay any attention in class and that you’re not following instructions. It has nothing to do with your peers.”
“I’m trying my best, okay?” Cole snapped. Why couldn’t anyone just listen for once? He was trying, he’d been trying for ages.
“Then how come your grades are so low? This is one of the top arts schools in Ninjago, Nicholas. We expect better.” The counsellor had a mask of false concern on. Cole kind of wanted to punch it off.
“It’s not Nicholas, it’s Cole. And I am trying,” Cole gritted out.
“Your grades are barely scraping fifty percent.”
“So?”
The counsellor frowned. “If you don’t start doing better, you may get expelled.”
“Would that be such a bad thing?” Cole said under his breath. Then to the counsellor, “I’m sorry. I’ll do better.” She might be suspicious of the sudden change of pace, but Cole couldn’t care less. He just wanted to get out of the office.
The counsellor nodded and fixed her glasses. “That’s all for today, Nicholas. You can go to class now.”
She didn’t even bother to get his name right. “Thanks,” Cole marched out the door.
~
Cole stared down at his exam results and wondered if he was dreaming. Forty percent average, the paper said. A fail. He’d managed to do so badly that his average wasn’t even fifty.
Dad’s going to kill me, he thought. Dad expected at least nineties, and this definitely wasn’t it. He’d be grounded until his thirtieth birthday, if he lived that long.
The only subject that had above sixty was visual arts. The teacher for that class was nice — he understood Cole’s struggles and gave him all the time he needed. It wouldn’t make Dad overlook all the other failures, though.
The paper crinkled under his grip. Cole blinked the tears out of his eyes and shoved the paper into his folder. His classmates were conversing all around him, comparing grades and bragging about what they’d gotten. The teacher sat at her desk on the computer. Nobody would notice if he went to the washroom and never returned, hopefully.
Cole got up and walked to the front. “Ms. Jackson, may I please go to the washroom?”
The teacher nodded distractedly and waved her hand. “Yes.”
Cole grabbed his belongings and slipped out the door. He hadn’t taken a hall pass, not when the teacher would notice it missing. She wouldn’t know he was gone, but she would notice the hall pass. The teachers here were strange like that.
He opened the door to his dorm and collapsed on the ground. How was he going to explain his grades to his dad, much less the teachers? He could already hear the lecture. “Your mother would be so disappointed in you, Cole. What happened to all that potential?”
Then again, Dad didn’t pay attention to him. Cole doubted he even remembered that he existed; Dad was too busy partying. Maybe he could burn the report card and pretend it didn’t exist.
Or… Cole’s thoughts drifted to a snide comment Brant had made a few months ago. “Why don’t you just run away? Nobody would miss you — we’d be happy to see you gone.”
Cole had ignored him at the time. It was just another uncreative insult from the stereotypical bully. But it wasn’t exactly a bad idea. As strict as the school was, Cole knew all the weak spots in its system. It was easy to sneak out and never return. And he’d been thinking about leaving and never coming back for ages. This was just the final straw.
“All right, then. Guess Brant gets his wish,” Cole said. No one responded, of course — he was all alone. But talking to himself was a habit. Cole got up and went to the closet, finding the duffel bag he used to use for camping. He blew the dust off and packed anything that seemed useful. A flashlight, multiple sets of clothes, a reusable water bottle, that box of granola bars he’d bought a month ago, all the cash he had.
More food would need to be picked up from the school cafeteria, he decided. And he’d need to find a sleeping bag somehow. But everything else was ready. Cole could leave during the night — he refused to call it running away, he wasn’t running from anything — it was easier that way. This was the best option, he told himself.
Cole snuck out as soon as it was dark. He didn’t need to avoid any roommates, thankfully — anyone who’d been placed with him had moved out. It took a few minutes for him to write a letter to Jay. His best friend didn’t deserve to have him disappearing without warning, though they hadn’t been best friends since before Mom’s death. He put it in the outgoing mail on the way out, sealed with a blue sticker. Jay would know what that meant.
He took the back exit and walked down the road to the bus stop. The city’s streets were dimly lit, people rushing past him to get home. A couple looked at him curiously but didn’t stop him. A drunk man sat down next to him on the bench as they waited. Dogs barked in the distance and a truck drove past. It was peaceful, Cole thought. The most peaceful he’d been in a while.
The bus arrived just after midnight. Cole got on and paid for a ticket to the next town over. He could find a sleeping bag and extra clothes there, and the further away he got the better. He was finally leaving MOSPA and his dad behind, and he wouldn’t be stopped by something as simple as not having basic supplies.
~
Running away wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. All the books made it seem easy — there was no mention of sleeping in alleys, or trying not to get mugged, or having to do odd jobs to get money. Thank goodness for Ninjago’s lax law enforcement; nobody would have hired a thirteen-year-old if the police were good at their job. Especially a thirteen-year-old who may or may not be on the missing persons list. Cole still wasn’t sure if anyone had noticed him missing.
Cole shouldered his backpack as he walked away from Jamanakai Village. He’d managed to find work at a local restaurant a few weeks prior and had finally saved up enough money to get somewhere else. He wasn’t quite sure where his next destination would be, but for now he planned to go back to the mountain range near Ninjago City. He deserved a break, and climbing was therapeutic. The city having a lot of people to pickpocket was just a bonus.
Jamanakai was isolated, unfortunately. It would be an entire day before Cole could get to a more urban area and find a bus stop. He knew there wasn’t a lot of point in travelling so often, of course, but Cole couldn’t shake the feeling that if he didn’t keep moving, someone would find him and bring him back to MOSPA. He couldn’t let that happen. And it kept his mind off of Mom and Dad. Nope, not thinking of that today, Cole thought. It was a good day and he wasn’t going to ruin it.
“Probably enough money for a ticket to Ninjago City,” Cole muttered. “Then it’s just some hitchhiking.”
Not a difficult journey, really. Cole continued on.
~
The mountain was tall. And windy. And probably dangerous to climb without proper gear. Cole tried not to think of that as he pulled himself up the next ledge. He’d already had a close calls today, almost fell off before he found a foothold. Cole thanked Wojira that he hadn’t fallen to his death. If he was going to die, he wanted it to at least be dignified.
Only a bit more to the top of the mountain and then he could rest. Cole planned to camp there for the night and then go back down, hopefully without any major injuries. The broken ankle  still ached, and it had been months. He hadn’t been able to walk for two weeks the last time, and Cole wasn’t eager to have a repeat.
Huffing and sweaty, Cole reached the top. He climbed over the last few rocks and stopped, feeling pretty proud of himself, when he noticed the man sitting in front of him.
“Hello there,” the man said. He looked ancient, with deep set wrinkles and a long white beard. He took a sip of his drink and smiled.
Okay, that’s creepy, Cole thought. He had thought he was the only one climbing. How had he not noticed this guy?
“Wha— who are you?” The words exited Cole’s mouth without permission. He really should work on his brain-to-mouth filter at some point.
“Maybe that is a question you should ask, but first: why do you climb the mountain?” The old man looked at Cole with something like curiosity. Curiosity about what?
“Because it’s a good way to get exercise?”
“You can tell me the truth, Cole. I don’t judge.”
“How do you know my name? I never introduced myself,” Cole took a step back. Was this man some sort of stalker? Nobody knew where he was. If he got kidnapped, or murdered, no one would be able to find him.
“Because I know you, Cole. I was there when you were born.”
“You know my Dad? Are you going to bring me back to him? Give me another lecture on how I’m a disappointment? I don’t need to hear it,” Cole crossed his arms and prepared to make a run for it. It would be suicidal to jump off the mountain, but he was a fast climber. The old man wouldn’t be able to catch up with him.
“I knew your mother. She was one of my students,” the old man stood and held up his hands in the ‘I surrender’ gesture.
“Student?”
“I taught her to be a hero. Did you think that all the stories she told you were made up?”
Cole hadn’t thought about his mom’s stories in years. She used to tell him about great heroes who could control the very elements themselves, who tamed dragons and fought against evil. He’d loved those stories.
“You’re telling me that all those stories about ninja and dragons were real? Yeah, and I’m a giant purple unicorn,” Cole glared at the old man. This guy had to be crazy, spouting nonsense about real-life superheroes and monsters. Mom had told him those stories for entertainment and bonding, nothing more.
“You are stubborn. Also like your mother, I suppose. I can prove to you that all the old legends are real. You just have to trust me,” the man held out his hand. His face was a mixture of hope and worry and maybe a little bit of fear. Fear of what, Cole didn’t know.
Cole hesitated for a moment. There was nothing left for him back at home, if he still had one, and no one cared if he went missing. The only people he cared about were either dead or better off without him. His life truly couldn’t get any worse, and if this man had known his mom he couldn’t be too bad. Cole took the hand.

Xavier's sister x Tyler
There are some headcanons for being Xavier's sister and being in a relationship with Tyler
Tumblr media
• You were born shortly after your brother. So the age gap between you two is small.
• You were really distant in your childhood you were easy-going and sociable and he was a lone wolf, who mostly spent all free time in his room painting something that makes sense only for him.
• Father often took you with him because you could easily get on with anybody and were "normal" unlike his son he considered mentally ill.
• Father spoilt you rotten: expensive dresses, jewellery and brand smartphones while neglecting Xavier. Partly it deepened the abyss between you and your brother. He started avoiding you and his father
* He ate in his room and come out of it once in a blue moon. When you met, he never looked at you or said a single word. You got used to it quickly because you had your father and a lot of friends.
• When he left for Nevermore, you didn't notice at first. You found out about it when father was talking with some friend of his and mentioned that he had got rid of the problematic child.
• You had been enjoying yourself till the moment you had a vision.
You were having a whale time with your friends, playing volleyball when suddenly you collapsed on the ground and started shaking.
You came to your senses in the hospital. You called your father but he was out of reach. Doctors checked on you and declared that you were healthy. During the day you were trying to get your dad on the phone but all in vain. When you lost the last spark of hope, you checked on your phone and found the photos of your friends in a café.
When you came back home, father acted like nothing had happened. You thought he had been busy so you skipped it off.
• After the accident you started having nightmares. You told about them your dad but he not only seemed not to care about it but also started sending you to psychotherapists who shrugged their shoulders.
* You wanted to forget about the accident and hang off with your friends but all of them came up with some stupid excuses not to meet with you.
• In the end, you were sent to the school your father chose for Xavier. You felt betrayed but weren't able to change anything because if father decide something, he makes sure it comes into reality.
So you're a Nevermore student now.
You were met by your brother you hadn't seen for a while. He helped you with your stuff and left without saying something like "Welcome there" or "Long time no see" .
Your roommate turned out to be a vampire. You got scared at first but she was friendly and never tried to bite you. So you grew closer and became the bestest friends ever. You were listening to some loud music at night, having a great time with Enid, painting each other nails in your favourite colours. The place you considered the school for mad people turned out to be the best place in the world.
No one in the school knew about you and Xavier being siblings till Xavier gave you package from your father. It was a real shock for everyone
- So he is your brother?,- Enid was shocked
- Yeah
- And you didn't say a word about it,- her voice was full of dissatisfaction
- You didn't ask. Is he a celebrity or something like this?
- He is our local artist and Bianca's boyfriend
- And Bianca?
- Are you freaking kidding me? She is the most popular girl
- Forgot
- How could you forget her?
- Eh... Like something I ate for breakfast six years ago
Yoko was trying to hold her laughter but ended up giggling like Joker.
- Girls, let's have a cup of machiato in Weathervane. I've heard they add some salt caramel and pepper mint in it. It must be delicious,- said Yoko after her giggling session
That's when you met Tyler
Girls ordered machiato and you not being a big fan of the beverage ordered tea.
- Only a cup of tea?
- Yes,- you didn't bother to lift your gase at a barista
- Y/N, we went here to try this new machiato everybody is crazy about,- grumbled Enid
- But now I want a cup of tea
- Green or black? Wait, we got a new one with lime and strawberry?
- I don't care... Just a cup of any tea
- Got it!
When he left to do your orders, Yoko asked:
- Are you alright? You look pale
- I haven't been sleeping well recently ,- you were rubbing your temples
- Nightmares again?
You were silent because you saw something scary: blood, dead bodies and a dark figure that were constantly saying: "The day of justice will come. As he rise, you'll die". Your eyes widened as you recalled what you had seen.
- Nothing special,- you tried to smile but it looked fake
- You can tell us,- Enid covered your hand with hers
- Your orders!
The barista saved you from further questions
This time you looked at him: curly hair, green eyes and a bright smile.
You took a gulp of your drink and frose. It was chamomile tea mixed with fresh lime juice. You took another look at him, silently asking to explain how he had found out.
- You looked pale and ... exhausted. And these bags under your eyes.
- Thanks,- you sighed, taking another gulp of the tea.
The second time you met him at the same spot and under the same circumstances. You were dragged here by Enid who wanted to try the machiato one more time
- Y/N, try it! You won't regret it ,- Enid tried to persuade you
- Ok, you won,- you said,- Hey...
- How can I help you?,- Tyler came to your table
- I'd like a machiato,- Enid said, turning her face to your side
- And you?,- the barista asked,- the tea you took the last time?
- Machiato
- Are you sure?,- he asked feeling your inconfidence
- Yes
When he served it, you tried it and realised it's the same tea you ordered the last time... just with milk and cinnamon and no lime. Suddenly Enid got a call from Weems that her new roomie would be there in any moment so she left you alone. You finished your drink and approached the barista that was wiping tables:
- Thanks for the tea...
- Tyler,- he extended his hand
- Y/N,- you smiled after a little pause and shook it.
When you had come back to your dorm, Yoko told you about Enid roomie
- She killed a boy and devoured his flesh
- Just rumours,- you sighed
- You haven't seen her yet
- She has huge pointy teeth?
- No, but...
- But you have ones
- That's mean
After that day you started visiting the café often by myself just to have a little chat with the cute barista. You were talking about the terrible accident with a bear. He was constantly asking you not to come to the forest
On the harvest day, you saw him with the new girl Wednesday. They were talking about something you couldn't hear because of noise of people. Then they disappeared.
You didn't stop visiting the café because the best soothing tea was made here and you are acquaintances after all
You always have a good time together till the goth girl appears. She interrupts your conversation and asks Tyler for a private conversation. He asks you to wait.
- Sorry for that,- he smiles,- where were we?
- What does she want?- you ask directly
- She asks about some strange places. I don't know what she needs it for and I don't care
- But why you?
- She fixed my coffee machine so i own to her... Stop! Are you jealous?
- Just curious...
- It's a pity,- he smirked, leaning closer to you
- I need to go. See you
You got out of the table as quickly as you could, hiding your blush :
- What if I ask you for a date? What would you say?
You stopped and turned to him:
- I will think about it
You reached the doorknob to leave, wanting not to show your pink cheeks, but his grip on your other hand stopped you:
- Hey, you forgot your phone. When you decide, call me,- he handed your phone.
You snatched it and finally left the place.
When you had reached your room, Yoko noticed your state and asked what had happened. So you told her everything
- I hope you have his number
- No
- Then how will you call him?
- No quess
When you were falling asleep, you got a message from... Tyler
"We've never exchanged our numbers" you thought but quickly realised when he had managed to put it in your phone.
There were three words" Sweet dreams, Y/N"
He sent you messages almost every day asking if you had decided about the date but you were a bit hesitant.
- Y/N,- you were taken aback because it was Xavier who practically had been ignoring you .
- Yes, dad sent something?
- Nope, I've heard when you were talking with Yoko about your date with that normie from Weathervane he isn't as innocent as you think
- How do you know what I think?
- Because you've always been so naive
- So you are hinting that I am a stupid chick who doesn't know people at all
- I didn't say it
- Yeah, you tried to sugarcoat it.
- Listen, he will dump you as he gets bored of you
- Like you dumped Bianca?
- What do you know about me and Bianca and who told you that?
- Nobody, I remember how miserable she looked when you dumped her
- She used her siren' song to manipulate me
- You gave her a reason to doubt your feelings
- Ok, I'm done... But mark my words and don't expect compassion.
When he came out of your vision, you phoned Enid to help you find the best outfit for Rave'N.
- What do you think about this dress?
You showed up from a fitting room in f/c (favourite colour) dress.
- It's amazing. You look beautiful in it. By the way, who will you ask to be your date for Rave'N?
- Tyler
- Your brother doesn't like him
- I don't care about him
- It sounds like you aren't close
- I don't want to talk about him. He's already spoilt my mood
In the evening, you called Tyler but, unfortunately, he was out of reach. You sent him a message and left for Rave'N with Yoko.
You were having a great time with Yoko and Enid. Suddenly, Yoko facial expression changed and she said:
- Y/N, let's go outside. I need some fresh air
- Are you okay?
- Yes, I want to inhale some fresh air. Just now
You heard some excited voices:
- She came there. Wednesday is here and not alone.
You turned to see who is the lucky man and saw... Tyler
- Y/N, - Yoko tried to wake you up from the state but you just rushed outside, running into Thornhil:
- I'm sorry ,- you whispered, running out of there. Near the building you found Xavier who was sitting all alone with his back against the wall. He turned his head and saw you:
- I was right after all
- I've heard that you were going with Wednesday. Don't gloat
- I wasn't planning to do it
You were silent for a moment:
- She thinks that I am the monster that mauled all the people,- he broke the ice
- She is crazy to think so
He chuckled:
- And she is. Let's go back inside
- Maybe, we just can sit here. I don't want to see neither Tyler nor Wednesday
Suddenly, you heard screams and dashed inside. Everything was red... Something similar to blood was running from the ceiling. Everyone was screaming and trying to get out of the hall, falling down on the floor. Wednesday left the building like this mess is nothing. When you saw Tyler you couldn't help but slapped him across the face:
- Don't try to approach me again
You couldn't see a smile on your brother's face. He had dreamt to do it for thousand times.
You stopped attending Weathervane although Enid offered you to give him the cold shoulder. The only positive thing about the evening was Enid and Ajax reconciliation. You visited Eugene in the hospital, hoping him to wake up. You hadn't known him much but it wasn't an excuse.
You started jogging. It was soothing but not as Tyler's tea. During one of the marathons, you heard a familiar voice:
- Y/N!
You turned and saw him. He was panting, trying to catch up with you:
- Galpin, what do you want? Another slap?
- No, I wanted to apologize
- Save it.
- And confess...
- What?
- I went with her to make you jealous.... Wait, I were rejecting all my attempt to ask you out so I thought you wanted to get back for your brother.
You were confused and he went on:
- I had ruined his mural and I were thinking you were trying to get back at me for this.
- Congratulations! So what do I have to do with this?
- Accept my offer to go on a date with me
- In your dreams
- I will make for you your favourite drink complementary
- Trying to buy me?
- I am trying to make it up for you. I was a fool
- Correction: you are a fool
- So you know nobody holds a grudge against fools
You gave him another chance and didn't regret it. He made a movie night for two of you. You were watching The Pirates of the Carribbean Sea and eating a lot of pop corn with dark chocolate. Till the end of the date, you were snuggling, watching Shrek.
Some headcanons for dating Tyler
Free tea and buns with chocolate ( He promised you. Don't forget! Buns as a bonus for forgiving).
Xavier went ballistic, trying to understand how it could happen. He was glancing angrily at him while attending Weathervane, wanting to snap his neck
You often talk about your relationship with parents. You told him about your father, who wants to hide( psycho)kids from public eyes. He revealed that his father who had been trying to avoid conversations about his mum.
- I think he doesn't know what to say and how to say it correctly . So he tries to ghost the theme like a child. He loves you and I am sure your mother too.
- Why do you think so?
- Because you are hardworking, caring. If I were your mother, I would be proud of you.
He hugged you, thinking
"If only you knew who I really am"
He always makes sure you wear clothes according to weather. If you get ill, he sends you candies by EnidExpress.
When Wednesday started showing up in Weathervane again....
She showed him an old book you had seen before but couldn't remember where.
She didn't show any interest towards him and even said you directly:
- Don't worry. I am not trying to steal your boyfriend. I needed some information from him and got it.
On Wednesday birthday, her friends ordered a cake for her in Weathervane. It was shortly after Mayor Walker was run over. You helped him with it. He promised you a romantic dinner but later he called you and said that he was having some business. You were upset but later you heard a knock. It was Xavier:
- You believe that he is completely honest with you so I want to open your eyes.
- Xavier. Stop it! Why can't you put up with the fact, we are dating
- Because I've seen him today with Wednesday and Enid. They were in the Gates house and he was scratched by the beast.
- And you? How did you end up here?
- I've seen him picking them up and I gad heard Wednesday talking with Enid about it some days before.
....
It was a rainy day, everyone was mourning over Walker, who didn't make it. You were distracted by Tyler:
- Let's talk about something
- About your "serious" business?
- You have been told already
- I don't want to hear why you didn't tell me that you were going to help Wednesday. That's it. I can't go out with a person I can't trust at all. It will be better for us to...
- No, Y/N...I'd tell you the whole story but...
- You don't want it. I got it
You left without looking back.
You wasted your time in your room, trying to forget about Tyler. Enid tried to cheer you up but all in vain. She moved to your room after the accident in the Gates house.
- I want to breathe some fresh air
- Want a company?- Enid asked.
- No, I need to have some time alone
you were walking the corridor and heard some strange sounds in Wednesday room but you didn't care what she was doing there.
...
On the other day, you heard a knock on your door.
- Xavier, has something happened?
You were going to the cellar he called his Art Studio. Your brother looked worried:
- I've seen nightmare. Kinbott lying on the floor while her blood is oozing out of her body.
- Did you warn her about the danger?
- Yes, I met with her shortly after the funeral
- And she?
He opened the door of the cellar and turned off the light. You walked there and saw Wednesday sitting in the corner. Both of you were shocked but the real one was ahead. This crazy goth stated that Xavier is the monster, who had been scaring the town:
- Wednesday, if you look for a real culprit, find one somewhere else. My brother isn't the monster you are looking for.
- Because I am looking for a bunch of monsters. One of them left the knife in my room... or to be more specific, in Thing.
- Really? Did you find his fingerprints on it?
- No, and he haven't done it all by myself because he had an assistant. You helped him and left it in my room because Kinbott wasn't allowed to be there. Enid told me about your night stroll so you had a chance to do it . And how can you explain the picture?
Wednesday came to a covered painting and tugged the material. There was a picture of Kinbott with scars on her face.
Suddenly, the police stormed into the room, ordering you to raise your hands and stay still.
- I hate you, Wednesday. Why are you ruining everything to me and him?,- you screamed like a banshee
- I wish I'd let Rowan kill you ,- added Xavier
....
- Father, what have they done?- Tyler was shocked to see you in handcuffs behind the bars
- This one was the monster who killed all the people and this one helped him
- She couldn't
- Because you dated her and know her?
He kept silence and said :
- She couldn't know the time when Wednesday and I met.
- She left her room during the time when the book was stolen and her pet - hand was stabbed
....
You heard that Wednesday had tortured Tyler but you didn't feel any emotions. You hated him and her for spoiling your miserable life.
....
- Hey, what's up?
- What do you want from us?- Xavier was furious
- I know you are innocent
- Your father doesn't think so... And why are you so sure? All evidences are against us,- you asked
- Because...
- you are the criminal?- snapped Xavier
Tyler didn't say a word and went away.
....
You were sitting like a criminal, cursing Wednesday and Tyler. Xavier were silent as well. Suddenly, she came here again.
- What do you want now? Kill us?,- you pronounced it coldly, not caring about anything.
- To set you free
- Why?
- Tyler made me thinking the criminals were you. He is the Hyde
- What made you change your mind
- While...,- she glanced at you, pausing,- I was kissing him, I saw a vision of him mauling Kinbott. I want you to help me
- Go to the Hell,- you were boiling with anger.
...
You as ones of the most dangerous criminals were under Sheriff Galpin surveillance. He was driving through the forest, trying to locate his son while you were in the cage behind him like two wild animals.
When the car stopped and he left, you heard a glass squeak. On the car's window by Tyler was Thing. He helped you get out of the car. Two of you headed to Nevermore because Thing told you about the danger that is waiting for all students.
When you reached it, everything was in fire. Xavier grabbed his bow and headed to Wednesday, who was trying to stop Crackstone. You tried to help others get out of the building.
When everything ended. You saw Enid walking out of the forest. Ayax started walking towards her but you barely knocked him off his feet:
- Enid, are you alright?
- Where is Wednesday?- she asked, looking at others, hoping to see her among them.
Everyone turned to the burning school watching Wednesday, Eugene and Bianca walking out of the smoke. Enid dashed towards her, hugging her with all her might and Wednesday did the same.
....
- What are you doing here?,- Sheriff Galpin was confused
- I want to see him
- Are you crazy? Although, all students from Nevermore are like this. No. He will tear you apart
- I will take all responsibility for that. I want to ask him something
- No
...
- You have only five minutes and if something happens, I will be behind the door ,- he signed, going out of the room.
- Ok
You inhaled more oxygen and made a step towards him.
- Tyler
- Are you going to say that I am an inbred?
- Yes
- Then you wasted your time. I know it.I set up your brother, killed one of your students, mauled one to coma.
- Was it a part of your plan to play with my feelings?
- At first, it was just an entertainment but later... I missed the moment when it started being for real. Thornhill wanted to kill all of you but my father wanted to sent you two in jail this evening.
- So she won't kill us? Don't make a fool of me. You asked Wednesday out shortly after we broke up and made out with her when I was behind the bars.
- I distracted her from the book. We were talking about her suspicions. She wanted me to patch things up with you and elicit About your brother. I needed to be close to her because Thornhill wanted me to know every step she takes. And she kissed me myself while i was shocked by the news about your arrest
- Why are telling me that?
- I don't know
- It's time to go,- you heard from Sheriff.
When the door shut behind you he whispered:
- Because I love you

Why Your Vote Matters (aka Where I've Been Lately)
Hi there. I'm back today. We got back Thursday but I needed to recover for a day before I tried to get back to something like my normal life. Needless to say, I missed you all. 💕
So, before I launch into this story, two things. First, my family and I are all okay. Second, yeah, I'm going to get a little political here and I try to keep such to a minimum. But I wouldn't do this without a compelling reason.
Trigger warnings for miscarriage, stillbirth, pregnancy, illness, and reproductive health care.
Not far into October, a friend of mine from college invited us out to visit her in California. Like me, she has two little girls. She and I haven't seen each other since we started families so it has been a little while. We got back in touch a few months ago on social media and often talked about how we needed to get together. My Chemical Romance, our favorite band, was playing out there and she got us tickets.
My husband stayed home but I took the girls, yes I made them do school each day lol, and we went out to stay with my friend and her family. Her girls are lovely, her husband is a really great guy.
I should probably mention that she was expecting her third child, a boy. Her due date was right after Thanksgiving. She was just starting her eighth month when we got there. She looked amazing and everything was going well. She suffered a miscarriage last year, she explained, and with this pregnancy, she was terrified of that happening again. She didn't even tell her friends she was expecting until it became obvious.
This pregnancy wasn't planned. But she wanted 3 or 4 children and when they found out everything was going well and it was a boy, they were thrilled. They had a room set up, all his things ready. Their girls, who are a little younger than mine, are small but they were excited. All four girls were like long-lost sisters from the start. It was fun to watch them.
The night of the concert came. My friend didn't want to take a risk in going. Understandable. I went with a friend of hers named Brie (also an MCR fan) and she watched my girls. It was a really good night.
The day before we originally planned to leave, I got my girls going on school (we homeschool). Her girls had gone to school and her husband went to work. She seemed worried. When I asked what was wrong, she said the baby was still and that concerned her. We talked about it and I finally convinced her to call her doctor's office to get her in that day. She was worried about overreacting. I told her that her peace of mind was important too.
The rest of that day was a nightmare. The ultrasound revealed that her son had died. What happened was incredibly rare. Even if they had been doing an ultrasound the exact moment when things went wrong, there was little chance they could have saved him. Her husband raced to the hospital. I went with my girls to get theirs from school and took them home. Her labor was induced and after 11 hours, she gave birth to her son. And he was a little smaller but perfect in every way. His heart just wasn't beating.
I stayed on to help with the girls. My friend's parents are gone and her mother-in-law lives in New Zealand so she couldn't get there right away. I was glad to help. I've experienced some things at the shelter but this was so much more personal. The loss was intense. Her girls aren't 5 yet. How to explain to them (and mine) what happened. It was hard to watch this couple go through loss and grief and have to face every aspect of that. There was a funeral. There was that happy room in bright yellow waiting for a child that wasn't coming.
The funeral was the Friday before Halloween. I took all our girls to a Halloween trail in their town that weekend. I helped where I could. I decided we'd stay on a few days until her MIL could get there.
But my friend had a fever almost as soon as she got home from the hospital. She didn't look well. Yes, she'd been through hell. But one morning, I was making breakfast for the kids and she came into the kitchen. There was a sick smell coming from her. And I had to tell her that. I asked her if I could check her temperature. It was high. She didn't want to go, but I loaded her and the kids into the car (her husband had gone in to work for just a couple of hours) and took her to the ER. There was something left in her womb. They put her under to clear out this debris (they said it wasn't placenta) which had caused sepsis. It was serious. She was back in the hospital and we almost lost her.
Her husband and I took shifts with one of us staying with her, and the other staying with our kids until we knew she'd make it. I thanked the nurse when we brought her home three days ago for all her help. She told me that she was just grateful my friend was in California.
Her MIL got there Wednesday and we came home. But that nurse's words stayed with me. If my friend lived somewhere else, would she be dead? Would she have been denied the care she needed to save her life after the devastating loss of her son? Would her son's loss be blamed on her? Would she have been arrested? What would happen to that family either way? Either that husband and two little girls lose a wife and mother or legal issues would haunt their lives on the heels of one of the worst things that can happen to a mother.
Tuesday the 8th is election day here in the U.S. And I'm just asking as a mother, for my friend, and our daughters, that you think carefully when you vote. While I understand the ideology of those who say they want to protect the unborn, I get that, there are so many other situations where access to medical care is vital to the life of the mother. Access to reproductive care is vital to families with kids already here, and to the economy.
What happened to my friend can happen to any of us. And this is a woman who wanted her son. She loved him with all her heart. I can't even bring myself to think about what might have happened to them if they lived in a place where reproductive health care is denied or where a bounty could have been placed on her head so someone could get $10k by saying she deliberately caused that loss.
Please vote to protect women and their rights to their own bodies. Please vote to save the lives of mothers, to save families.
Thank you so much for letting me share this with you.

EVERMORE THE CROW 1K SPECIAL..... EXPOSING MY PAST.................
ages ago when i was younger i had to write this letter talking about times i got injured for school work and it was so bad i went through it with a friend of mine and because i thought i wouldnt hit 1k before the end of the year saying id post it if i did.
AND NOW IVE DONE IT
Tumblr media
so heres my letter :(
Dear sir, I chose to write about a dangerous situation I've been in but I found it so difficult to pinpoint one situation.I am such an impulsive and spontaneous person and I rarely think before I act .Therefore instead of just one dangerous situation I have composed. Before i start i would like to issue a warning under no circumstances should a person attempt to recreate any action in this list for it is ill advised and i don't want to go to court again Kind regards -------
Okay so let's start out small ,i mean like when i was small really small i couldn't walk, but oh boy i could climb and unfortunately for the better of my own health climb I did, climb out of my cot and i know because gravity people who drop out of things tend to have this annoying habit of hitting the floor.Lets just say my mum put PE mats on my bedroom floor after that.
Next…uhhhhh incident??? Oooh it's another escaping story  maan maybe i should change my name to houdini or something, anyway this was a little later like i was able to walk (uh oh) i reckon i was good a walking, a little too good, my mum looked away from my pram for a second a second too long when she looked back i was gone, everyone in the park was looking for me and after 10 minutes of looking my mum saw me walk out the playground, i left and went to the playground. We went home after that.
Time for the third story  I was two years old and was running buckwild in Greenwich Park and having a fun time, in fact I was having such a fun time I didn't hear my mum shout “LOOK OUT”.  I had a comically large bump on my head got concussed and had to go to hospital, Not for too long though the very next day i got sent home for using a IV as a skateboard
Just a heads up befor the next story alot of these storys will be me being stupid and endeing up in hospital so if you have idiotphopia or are scared it would be advised to leave now or buy todays sponsor raycon earbuds.
Anyway next accident  When i was five I was in bed as a five year old should be when I had a genius revelation Hmmm i I dont wanna use my legs to get out of bed so why not roll out instead….i did roll out of bed, right onto a plastic dinosaur and cut my eyelid, there was blood all over my face. But hey at least i got to meet an old friend of mine. The hospital waiting room.
So yeah you can probably see how i'm quite an accident prone person but i never really did anything that bad.SO WHO WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT THE TIME I JUMPED OFF MY SCOOTER WHILE GOING SUPER FAST ON IT DOWN A HILL? I was seven and i was at our local park blythe hill and my seven year old brain wanted nothing more than to go down that hill at record speeds on my scooter, and i'm not talking about one of those fancy stunt scooters no i'm talking about a kids micro scooter, you know , the one where you would always put elastic bands on it, any way I was about halfway down the hill when i decided I was going too fast on it and i could get hurt and since id never had an injury before i wanted to prevent that so what did i do? I jumped of the scooter I was a smart kid. I jumped off my scooter and pretty much removed all the skin on that side of my body and too make matters worse it got infected and i had to take antibiotics for 4 weeks. Fun times
As you can probably see i might be a bit reckless and might be a bit bad at planning ahead  Which leads me to our next story, this ones a bit different you see this time  I didn't actually get hurt. I was at a friend's house and that friend's house had a garden with a tree,a tree and a garage which was placed close to the tree, and I, being a master climber since birth, scaled the tree with ease. But that wasn't enough for me no I wanted to climb the garage. So i went across the tree to the branche nearest the garage ,and climbed on top of the garage, the lovely, brick garage.my friends dad came out and saw me on top of the garage simply chilling and as you can probably predict he asked me to get down so instead of doing the rational thing and using the tree to et down.. I jumped of the garage onto the stone floor.I didn't go to their house for a while after that
I have another garage related story,This was in 2017 I was nine surely I was smateer by then and learned my lesson Right……Right? Me and my siblings were playing marco polo out the front of our house (never a good sign) And it was my turn to be blindfolded and find my siblings.I decided to run straight forward and hit the brick wall between two garages , I fractured my nose, chipped my front tooth and had to go to hospital.oops.
Now they say save the best for last and boy did i. It was 2020(oh god ) and we were celebrating my mom's birthday and all was going smoothly, well until i decided to leave our living room by jumping out the room from the sofa.it didn't go as planned.yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah i jumped off the sofa hi my head on the top of the door landed on my arm and spent 5 hours in hospital on my mums birthday.
That's all we have time for today However here are some honorable mentions
.The time i used my scooter on a tall thin brick wall (someone really ought to take that thing of me honestly)
.All the times I hit my head on bins
.And that time this year I literally without thinking put the hairdryer on my face after I used It and burnt stripes into my face
Well thats the list of the most dangerous things ive done, of course ive done more dumb things but this paper has gone on long enough and I have school in the morning so bye I guess.

vanilla, please ... wyatt lykensen x reader
word count: 1225, warnings: none :)
Tumblr media
"Good morning! What can I get for you?" the cashier asks with a smile.
"Could I get vanilla?" you answer.
"Of course! What size?"
"Small, please."
"Small vanilla, coming up!"
You pay and step to the side, towards the pick up counter, so the next person in line can place their order.
A man makes himself known with a polite "Excuse me?"
You turn around to see who it was, "Huh, yeah?" He didn't seem familiar.
"Sorry, I've just never had 'froyo' before. What would you recommend?" You notice his faint lisp as he speaks. He's dressed in the Seabrook Public Works uniform with the addition of a SPW hardhat and noticeably thick glasses.
"Oh, well, I don't know -- I, personally, always get vanilla. But I don't know what you'd like," you answer, chuckling.
He smiles and nods before walking off to place his order. You watch curiously, "Vanilla, please." He turns to you again with a grin, sort of proud of himself. You smile back, he was almost cute.
"Alright then," the cashier pokes her screen. "And what size?" she asks him, looking up from the screen. The boy looks confused, and looks back at you for an answer.
"Oh," you catch on, "uh, small?" you blurt out, looking back and forth between them. You justify your answer to yourself, Small is good, maybe he won't like it and this way he won't waste much, right? Sure. Although, truth be told, you just said what came to mind first.
He smiles and looks back at the cashier with another nod. "Another small vanilla, coming up!"
"Thank you," he hands her his money before he steps towards you again.
"Yeah, no problem," you respond. "If you don't mind me asking, how haven't you had froyo before?" Everyone in Seabrook has to have at least tried froyo -- even Zombies. Although, zombies only got to try things like froyo after they were allowed to work and attend school in Seabrook. It's just one of those "Classic Seabrook" things. Like cheer, or those weird looks people give zombies no matter how long it's been since they've been integrated.
"Oh," he pauses for a second. "I'm just… new to town. My family and I moved here just a week or so ago," he explains. You look at him, still a little confused. "From out of state," he adds on. You nod slowly.
"Cool," you respond politely, with an uncertain nod. You don't exactly buy his story, but there's nothing really outwardly dangerous about him, so you decide to ignore it.
"Two small vanillas!" a worker calls out beside you. They push it towards you on the counter, give you a small smile, and return to their work. You and the boy each pick up a cup and sit at a table across from one another.
You continue the conversation, "Again, if you don't mind me asking," you laugh, "How old are you? You seem pretty young to be working at the plant." He looks confused.
"'The plant'?" he questioned.
"Yeah, you know," you gesture to his hat and uniform, "the Seabrook Power plant. At least, that's what I'm assuming the hardhat's for."
"Oh! Oh -- yeah, it's an internship!" he answers proudly.
"Oh, cool! I didn't know they offered internships there," you say, tilting your head. "Wait, so, how old are you?"
"Sixteen!" said proudly, again.
"No way! Me, too! So does that mean we're going to Seabrook high together this year?" Meeting a new student before the school year even starts is exciting for you. Especially when your social circle has been consistent with the same people for a year.
"Uh," he hesitates, but you just nod and smile in anticipation, "yeah! Unless we, uh, move again sometime soon, definitely!" It came out a little awkward, but you brushed it off as normal "meeting a new person" jitters.
"Cool!" you hadn't realized you were leaning in until you slump back in your seat. "I could even show you around the school if you want! I mean, it's only my second year here, but I've seen every nook 'n' cranny from the basement to the roof!" you boast.
"Only your second year?" he repeats with a tilt of his head.
"Yeah, Zombies weren't allowed to attend Seabrook High 'til last year. We weren't allowed to do a lot of things 'til last year, really," you trail off.
Sensing the sudden tension, he speaks up again. "I'd love a tour from you," he says simply, with a kind smile. This one is different to the playful grins he'd given you before, it was more sincere and caring.
You can only hear your heartbeat, it's louder than usual and your chest thumps with each pulse. His eyes, enlarged by his glasses, study yours calmly.
A moment of shared silence passes, until you break it with a whisper, "Awesome." The two of you share another grin.
Your eyes flicker down to the untouched froyo in front of you. The boy, who's been focused on your eyes, does the same.
Embarrassed, you cringe, "Sorry, my rambling distracted us from the froyo."
"No, no, it's okay! Froyo can wait," he counters.
"Well," you glance at your cup again, "it sort of can't. It'll melt."
He looks confused as he takes a better look at his cup. "Oh." You cover your mouth and snort, trying to hold in your laugh. He sits still, only shifting his eyes to meet yours. You can't help it then, and you both laugh until your lungs hurt.
"Well," you catch your breath, "try some before it's gone!"
He picks up the pink plastic spoon and looks to you as if to say "like this?" You smile and nod in encouragement, and he scoops some of the half-melted yogurt up, and plunges it into his mouth. You inspect his facial expressions, trying to guess his opinion on it.
"Mm," he mumbles, "not bad." He smiles goofily at you, before he immediately wolfs down the rest.
"Oh," you laugh, "well, I'm glad you liked it!"
"'Liked it?' That was great! I haven't had something this good in -- in I don't know how long!"
"Really? What do you normally eat where you're from?"
"Uh," he chuckles awkwardly, "nothing compared to this! Right?" he forced another laugh and changed the subject, "I'm glad I asked for your recommendation, though. Talking to you's been really fun," he beams.
"Yeah, you, too," you smile. He really was fun to talk with. He interests you.
He's got his oddities, for sure, but they seem so harmless and, honestly, they only make me that much more curious to get to know him. I'm looking forward to seeing him more often.
"This really has been great, and I'd love to do this again, but I have to go. I'm sorry," he explains, pushing his chair backwards as he stands.
"Oh," I want to see him again, "then, uh," do something about it "well," just say it "How about tomorrow?" He looks at you expectantly. "We can just talk over froyo again, just like today! Same time and everything -- and we could get more since you liked it and it'd be fun. Unless you don't want to, which is also fine!" shut up, you're rambling.
He just smiles simply, and you could swear you saw a twinkle in his eye.
"I'll be here."

Just a Little Bit of Everything
Tumblr media
Author: One-More-Offbeat-Anthem (@one-more-offbeat-anthem) Artist: Ephermera No Major Archive Warnings Tags: Friends to lovers, coming of age, grief, Dean drives a pickup truck, mechanic Dean, teacher Cas, and they were roommates!, set in Pontiac,  Discussions of death, cancer, terminal illnesses, divorce, and foster families
Summary: Four years ago, Dean graduated from high school and went full-time with his job at his godfather Bobby's auto shop. Two years ago, Dean's mom passed away, leaving him in charge of his younger brother Sam and the house. This summer, Dean realized he couldn't keep the house on his own, Sam went off to college, and Bobby dropped a bombshell: he's terminally ill and planning on leaving the auto shop to Dean. Dean jumps to fix all the problems. He's got to find a boarder to afford the mortgage, attempt to micromanage his brother's life from across the country, ignore Bobby's imminent death, and contemplate getting an automotive repair certificate from the local community college. There are just a couple of problems: he can't control everything, Bobby's not going to let him ignore reality, deciding to go back to school is harder than it seems, and his boarder is none other than his high school friend and crush, Cas, who is back in town to teach at the local elementary school and, apparently, turn Dean's life upside down even more. Preview: Bobby leans back in his swivel chair, crossing his arms. “I heard you found a tenant.” “Did Sam spill the beans?” “Yeah, he knows you don’t tell me anything these days.” “Bobby, there’s nothing to tell. You see me all day and otherwise I’m just at home.” “Or you’re inviting your high school crush to live with you.” “One, he answered the ad, I didn’t invite him. Two,” Dean swallows, “I did not have a crush on Cas in high school.” “You seemed awful sad when he went to prom with the Masters girl.” Bobby is grinning at him, and it’s incredibly frustrating. “That was four years ago, and I wasn’t sad about it.” “Right. Not sad at all.” Dean has been trying to forget that, yeah, okay, Bobby is right, he did have a crush on Cas in high school. But he had a crush on plenty of people in high school, right? Freshman year he dated Lisa Braden and then she dumped him right after homecoming, then there was the extended infatuation with Cassie Robinson, who went on exactly one date with him and said that their “life goals” weren’t compatible (they were sixteen, for chrissakes, but in retrospect she was probably right–she went to Harvard and Dean is a mechanic), and then… Okay, and then he had a crush on Cas for most of junior and senior year. But they spent a lot of time together, as two of the four advanced math students, and so it was probably just related to becoming friends. Cas was a nice guy. That, as far as Dean can tell after a few conversations, hasn’t changed. Besides, Meg Masters and Cas went to prom as friends. Cas told him so. “Look,” Dean finally says, “Can we just focus on work?”

Clem, Marlon and Louis x Reader with Tattoos, Scars and Tall
CLEMENTINE
Tumblr media
She wasn't scared of you
But she wasnt that trusting with you
She didn't think ill of you, just didn't really know you
But you very much so did have her attention
You were pretty hard to miss
With the height, numerous tattoos, scars along your body and what seemed to be a permanent scowl on your face
When she was new to the school her eyes immediately caught you, you had been lugging some firewood in the courtyard and when you looked up caught her eyes
She had been staring at you, what she didn't know was that you had also been staring at her
She did have quite the introduction
But you also noticed how she acted towards you, you got it though
You were a stranger after all and growing up you always knew people acted different around you
You knew it was about how you looked, made you a bit sad but what could you do about it?
Until she finally actually spoke to you
Clem looked around the courtyard, every one here was different but she immediately noticed the one person who looked to be 6'0, maybe even taller.
'Holy hell.' She then noticed the tattoos, the scars and you turned around. Fuck, you looked right at her. She had been caught.
But she wasn't very alarmed when you squinted at her, your face forming a bit of a scowl. She wasn't scared, but kinda made a mental note that you weren't someone to be messed with.
After time went on she saw more and more of you, when speaking to you, you were a bit blunt and cold. So she got the hint, thinking you didn't like her.
Didn't bother her that much, but it did bother you.
You felt a bit guilty when you were a bit rude, you didn't mean to but you were sorta anxious. When Minnie and Sophie went missing you guys hadn't seen anyone else, and then she just came outta nowhere.
You liked her but you also thought she didn't like you and you wouldn't blame you. You also knew a part was your appearance, you knew from literally anyone at the school you came off as intimidating.
Lots of kids were scared of you, hell, Tenn was terrified of you for a while, not Willy. He was a weirdo. So you were shocked when after a few days AJ came up to you, asking to play a random game.
And you happily accepted.
Clem had walked out the admin building, looking for AJ when she spotted him. But with you, she wasn't shocked, more surprised as you held a small firefighter toy in your hand and played along with AJ's dialogue for his game.
She walked over, looking at the sight amused.
"What's going on?" She asked, AJ and you looking up as the boy smiled. "Y/n said they would play firefighter with me!" He smiled, Clem softly smiling at the boy as you chuckled.
"AJ!" Tenn called out, you all looking over as he waved his friend over to him. AJ lit up, immediately going to his friend and leaving you two alone.
"Thanks, for playing with him. You didn't have to." Clem thanked, looking over at you as you shrugged. "No problem, he reminds me of my little brother." You smiled, chuckling a bit as Clem looked at you surprised.
Not only did you enjoy playing with AJ, but you were smiling and laughing?
"You had a little brother?" She asked, sitting on the picnic table beside you. You hummed, nodding your head a bit as you leaned back on your hands. "Yeah, I lost him a while back. I think at the beginning?"
"Sorry about that." Clem said, sympathetic as you waved her off. "It's cool, he just reminds me of him." You smiled at her, your eyes soft as she returned the smile.
"He reminds me of my little brother." You nodded, Clem looking at you in surprise. "You had a little brother?" She asked. 'Yeah, lost him a while ago, I think at the start?"
Clem nodded.
"Sorry about that." She apologized, you waving it off. "It's cool. It's part of this life." You stated, Clem smiling a bit.
You then saw Vi waving you over, raising her eyebrow at you and Clem. You sighed, getting off of the bench and smiling at Clem.
"See you around, Clementine." You walked off, waving over your shoulder as Clem watched you walk away.
She realized that even with your intimidating appearance, you weren't actually. Hard to be when a 6 year old asks you to play firefighters. Maybe she was wrong about you, you were pretty cool in her book.
LOUIS
Tumblr media
The boy was fucking terrified of you
I mean who wouldn't?!
When you first woke up after being taken in with Clem and AJ you were scowling at everything!
You freaked out and took a knife you had hidden in your boot out
And lucky you, Louis was the one checking on you that turn
He came in and was terrified as you threw him to the wall with your knife to his throat
You were tall as hell too, towering over Louis by a bit
He didn't hate you, you were pretty but he didn't wanna get on your bad side
Didn't wanna find out what it was like on it
You didn't smile a lot, he heard how you talked with AJ and Clem, all soft
He sorta wished he got that but understood why he didn't
He loved your tattoo's though
Thought they were amazing pieces of art
And he kinda wanted to know the stories behind the scars
But it all started with a game of war…
You, Clem, Louis, Vi and Marlon were all playing war the first night after you guys had woken up. You noticed the looks the others gave you, but eh, who cared?
Louis had noticed your look, you were intimidating as hell with the height. He could tell you had been through some things, you had the scars to prove it.
But ws you all played war he saw you come out of your shell a bit, but when he was really in awe was when you laughed.
He had made a small joke, the others laughing as he did too before he abruptly stopped. There was an unfamiliar sound mixed in, your laugh.
He slowly looked over at you, seeing the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. You were laughing, holding your side a bit as your smile was a bit crooked.
You were laughing? At his joke?!
He stared at you like you were a goddess/god for a moment before a smile broke out on his face. He made a promise to himself he would make you laugh as much as he could.
And he succeeded, something he is now and always will be proud of. Cause he got the intimidating, scar filled, tattoo covered goddess/god to laugh. If that ain't an accomplishment he doesn't know what is.
MARLON
Tumblr media
He was sorta put off by you
He didn't hate you, just didn't know you
He was mostly intimidated, you were way taller than him and he was one of the tallest at the school
But that doesn't mean he didn't absolutely love your tattoos
Even if he didnt know you he loved 'em
Before it all he had been into all those heavy metal, punk bands and all that
You sorta gave him a feeling of nostalgia when around, he liked it
He thought you would be a great addition to the school
And he had been right
Ever since they found you roaming the woods, taking out walkers left and right
It took a while to convince you but eventually they came back with you in tow
It took a while to get used to having you around, you were cold and blunt at first with a glare on your face
But that was because you were in a new place, you took a while to settle in but you were grateful they gave you a chance
And Marlon one day realized you were actually not that bad
Thanks to Rosie
Marlon had been looking for Rosie for a bit. The dog had run off and he hadn't been able to find her at all.
He tried everything, asking everyone and nobody seemed to have found her. But he also noticed you weren't there either, kinda suspicious.
He walked around the admin building, looking around for her before sighing as he began to walk back. He then paused his step, hearing the sound of laughter and Rosie's familiar bark.
He was confused, looking around the corner before freezing at the sight of you tossing a stick and Rosie coming back with it, her jumping up a bit and accidently knocking you down, barking before starting to lick your face.
You laughed. "Rosie!" You giggled, trying to cover your face as you got mud on your clothes. You then shrugged, you'll wash them later. You then began to scratch behind Rosie's ears, the dog laying on her side as you began to scratch her belly.
From by the wall Marlon watched surprised. You were so cold but when with Rosie you seemed so nice and sweet? He didn't know what to feel but couldn't help but smile.
You actually looked peaceful as you sat on the ground with Rosie, scratching her belly as the sun began to set.
He actually liked it, he would like seeing you like this more. You didn't seem to care that you were getting dirty, playing with his dog and tossing a stick.
Hey, maybe he'll join you guys one day. But for now, he'll just watch from a distance

Memory in Children: Mechanical Choices (Sagrada Reset 3) - Epilogue
[INDEX]
Two years ago, on April 28th, Asai Kei met Souma Sumire.
It was around 6 PM on the tetrapods.
2 years and 142 days later, the two were on the tetrapods again.
Considering the time erased by Resets, that gap would be longer. But regardless, the two were together again on August 28th.
This time they were in opposite positions. Souma was sitting on the tetrapods and Kei walked to her.
If she were on the rooftop of the southern school building, he would have brought Haruki with him, but since Souma was on the tetrapods, Kei came alone.
It was around 6 PM, just like when they first met. But since they were in a different season, the color of the sky was completely different. The tetrapods were engulfed by the sunset on April 28th, 6 PM. But on August 28th, despite the sun starting to sink, the sky was still blue. Things aren't like they were back then.
Seeing Kei's standing figure on the tetrapods, Souma smiled.
"Hi, Kei."
Souma's voice. As leisurely as it was 2 years before.
Kei laughed, baffled.
"Hi. It's been a long time, but not to you, I guess."
"Yeah, to me it feels like we met 3 days ago."
"When was that?"
"In my mind, Mari's mother tried to leave Sakurada 3 days ago."
"Ok, that's all sorted then."
Mari's mother tried to leave Sakurada on August 13th. Three days after it was—August 16th. That was when Sasano Hiroyuki photographed Souma Sumire.
Kei put his hands on the ground and sat next to Souma. It was like he was retracing her every movement.
"You've grown a lot taller. I'm a bit surprised."
"It's because I used to be short. Now I'm my class' average."
"How have you been doing in these past two years?"
"It's been alright. A lot happened. Both nice things and tragic things."
"Are you getting along better with Haruki?"
"A lot better than 2 years ago. Haruki changed. She's a pretty normal girl now. And she'll still change more."
"Yeah."
Souma smiled. A regular smile with no good or ill intent.
"Are you fine with that, Kei?"
It wasn't a question he'd hesitate to say yes.
"Of course. It's great that this is happening."
And yet, Souma disagreed.
"But didn't you fall in love specifically with the Haruki from 2 years ago? The invariably simple girl with a sense of self? Didn't you fall in love specifically with the girl who resembled the concept of pure good?"
"I'm not sure. I don't remember anymore."
Souma put on an amused smile. She had many smile variations.
"I can tell you went through many different experiences and got quite strong."
Kei didn't clearly understand what she meant by "strong". He thought he knew before but he could tell that he was misunderstanding it. It was difficult to understand the meaning of strength when all your previous knowledge of it was wrong, he thought.
Since he couldn't tell, his answer wasn't a yes or a no.
"I can at least tell that I changed in some way."
"Do you have an example?"
(Do I...?)
After some pause, Kei answered:
"If a girl invited me to watch the sunset with her, I wouldn't refuse."
"Even if you have a novel to finish?"
"Yeah. I can take my time to read after it's dark and I'm back home."
(What would have changed if I had gone to watch the sunset with Souma on the day of our last conversation? Would I have managed to get a deeper understanding of her?)
"I have two questions for you.", Kei brought up.
"Only two?"
"For now. Two are enough as a starting point."
"Fine by me. Then what's the first?"
"It's about something that happened two years ago, before you fell into the river. You recorded your voice to send to yourself with Tomoki's ability."
ー Can you hear my voice?
Souma sent this simple message to herself two years in the future.
"I did, what about it?"
"I never got to hear the exact time. When you will get the message?"
Souma Sumire shifted her gaze to her thin wristwatch.
"In about 5 minutes from now. I set it for 6:30 today."
"Makes sense."
Now he could tell why she prepared that.
It's the Swampman question. Was the girl in front of him the real Souma Sumire or someone else who just happened to be identical in every way? She had the tools necessary to get a concrete answer. If she was Souma Sumire, she would get the message addressed to her. And if she wasn't, she wouldn't.
(That must be what this is about.)
"And what's the second question?", Souma tilted her head.
Kei nodded and asked:
"Why did you die?"
An accident is not a reason to die when one has Future Sight as their ability.
She chose her death. In cold blood. Immediately after a Reset. She intentionally timed her death in a way Kei and Haruki's powers combined couldn't hinder it.
Despite the dark subject, the sky's blue remained as clear, deep, and quiet as always. Souma's answer had the same tone as this sky.
"She had her reasons why her death was necessary."
The girl sitting next to Kei said "She".
She referred to the Souma from two years ago as "She".
"Reasons necessitating death.", Kei repeated dodging the pronoun detail.
"Yes. Reasons to die a sudden and sloppy death that would look like an accident."
"But you're here now."
Just as Souma Sumire planned two years ago. It wasn't an ordinary suicide since she went out of her way to revive later. What was the need to die?
"Everything was necessary. Both her death and the origin of her clone, me."
"Why?"
"That's a secret. Let me keep it to myself. It won't be for long."
He didn't even want to imagine what reasons would necessitate a girl's death.
But he had to. Because Souma Sumire died. Even if the girl next to him is the real Souma Sumire, it doesn't change that she died once.
"You have the right to hate me. I did enough to deserve it.", she mumbled with hints of solitude.
He didn't have an immediate answer.
Souma Sumire's death scarred Haruki—or to be more accurate, Kei was the one scarred by her death. But hurting Kei simultaneously hurt Haruki. So much so that it distorted her ability. It scarred Haruki so bad that she could no longer use her ability by her own command.
Souma knew this would happen. She knew everything.
Kei sighed and agreed.
"Right. I can't forgive you."
What she did wasn't justifiable.
Souma slightly lowered her gaze.
"I'm sorry. I mean it. But I really had to. I can't stop what was set in motion, even though it hurt you and will still hurt you more."
(Of course it will. She chose to die and come back to life. That can't be the end of the insanity. It was obvious there was more to come.)
Kei looked into her eyes with a prayer in his heart.
"What's your goal?"
She lowered her eyelids before speaking.
"Say, Kei, do you know why I named the black stone MacGuffin?"
The MacGuffin. The stone used to unite Kei with the persons with the necessary abilities and to indicate Souma's machinations. A worthless pebble, just charged with overblown rumors.
"A MacGuffin is the prop that invites the protagonist to the plot."
The plot device that leads a specific individual to where they can be the story's protagonist. A MacGuffin could be a mysterious suitcase forced on their hands, an indecipherable letter, or anything of the sort.
Souma nodded.
"I chose you to be the protagonist of the story I arranged. Every event this far has been in preparation for that."
"And what's the plot you prepared?"
That was her goal.
A girl's reason to die and come back to life.
"If you got that black stone, then you already know."
Under that painfully blue sky...
Souma watched Kei with eyes deep as the sky itself.
"The owner of the MacGuffin will control all abilities in Sakurada."
What she said was overblown.
Absurd.
Kei sighed again. (Not very convincing.), he thought.
Next, he asked:
"Did you get to hear your voice?"
Souma Sumire's voice from two years ago. ー Can you hear my voice?
It was already past 6:30. She already had her answer.
She slightly tilted her head.
"Which do you want the answer to be?"
Late to the job, the lowest part of the sky was starting to turn red.
"I'm sure your choice will be the right one."
Her voice was quiet, but certain.

so some of my medical history:
lyme disease when i was 10
mono right after (one kid i was never near in the county had it)
a weird ass contagious skin disease that was very contagious so i couldn't go to school (easily treatable) that no one else in the county had
diagnosed with a type of arthritis when i was 15 (the "treatment" didn't help)
i've had 4 surgeries for cysts (ganglion cysts both wrists, left side lypoma, cholestiatoma in my left ear)
tubes in my ears 3 times
2 surgeries to replace the bone in my left ear (i'm HOH)
MRSA my freshman year of college (not allowed at school)
junior year? i started getting treated for chronic lyme (controversial) was on multiple antibiotics for 4 years, went gluten free, no sugar, very little caffeine, got cdif (colitis) (almost died) had to stop that route. tried chinese medicine (garlic & herbs) was taking chlorophyll with too much copper, got copper poisoning & almost died (when my dad was first diagnosed with cancer no less) stopped that course too. (also did a whole miserable diet that i can't even talk about bc i really like food & that also almost killed me bc i didn't want to eat ever)
did acupuncture for years, that was the MOST helpful. she improved my period, helped make my diet tolerable, improved my pain & migraines by leagues, etc etc
pretty sure i have pots, maybe eds but i haven't tried to get diagnosed because ... i hate doctors with a burning passion. my biggest problem now is fainting & allergies lol and liquid iv & compression socks have actually made the biggest difference. used to survive on gatorade & pedialyte. and i need to go back to acupuncture
i'm always in pain (muscles, joints literally all of them) but you learn to live with it. and my very helpful doctors told me to ignore that pain when i was 15 & said fatigue was normal. so um. yeah
i feel like i've buried most of the memories, like they were years ago at this point but they feel like another life sometimes.
it's so isolating and if i didn't have two really good friends at home when i left college, i don't know how i would have made it. they would come over basically everyday and we'd watch tv & hang out, they'd make sure i ate & help me clean etc etc (i had the downstairs apartment if my parents house most of the time and *thankfully* my family was always helpful & understanding, my mom fought so hard for me) my mom & my friends could tell how i was feeling without my having to saying a word about it.
it absolutely kills me every time i read about what others deal with when they have chronic illnesses because that just. is not how anyone should be treated when they're sick & in pain. i remember being 15 and the whole world telling me "you can't be sick all the time" like literally yes you can you dumb fucks. again, thankfully i had some great teachers who made so many allowances for me (letting someone leave class early with me because i couldn't walk or carry my stuff but i had no aids or plan with the school. sometimes teachers that weren't even mine let a friend leave their class. one teacher didn't make me read a tale of two cities because i missed the whole unit) i had another friend going through hell. she has crohn's disease and she almost went blind and it took a long time for her to get diagnosed too.
one of those days i'm just mad at the world. this post doesn't really have any purpose other than to say listen to disabled people, especially the ones in your life. and if you can help them then you should. it's isolating & exhausting & painful in so many ways. people shouldn't lose friends because of their health. they shouldn't be guilted because of their health. health isn't an achievement, it isn't something you can control even if you do everything you possibly can. some things we just have to live with.
