I wonder how many Warriors of Light look at Ryne and are reminded of all those moments back in ARR when everyone around them took it for granted that they would save the world. Except so much worse, because Ryne is a teenager, and she's never had a choice about any of it. The Warrior of Light is an adult who at least did choose the life of an adventurer. But neither of them have asked for the gifts of Light that make them uniquely able to solve their world's problems. Both of them, perhaps, struggle with their own identity in the face of who they're expected to be. The kinship between Warrior and Oracle can be so strong, as they can understand what she's going through and what's been stolen from her in a way few other characters can.

Streetkid!Val and Judy would be together in so many different universes! Val was crazy about her, but chickened out on the roof when she could have called. She pretended it was about wanting to spare Judy any pain from her death. While that is also true, the real reason is that she just doesn't know how to carry the guilt of letting someone care for her while she's dying. (Guilt over death, it's like a theme with her!)

During the time they spent together, Val wished that she had joined the Mox when she had the chance, so that she might have spared Judy the heartache of Evelyn. Just after her 20th birthday, Val left Travis and the 6th Street. She found a tiny flat with two girls who worked for the Mox. Having just left another gang, she declined when they asked, though she appreciated their values.

Oh, BUNNY! Now you've got me thinking about this AU where she becomes a Mox instead of a Solo! Val would likely meet Jackie much earlier than her canon timeline, and probably would never leave NC for Atlanta. She would still go through with the Heist, and everything else would likely follow closely to the events of canon. She would call Judy from the roof, and listen to her advice foremost. I'm not sure what that would be. I can't imagine she would trust Johnny, so she would counsel against whatever he's pushing, but I don't see her putting the Aldecaldos in harm's way either. So maybe she would support Val going it alone with Johnny.

And then, after making it out of Mikoshi, they'd leave Night City. Val would turn down Rogue whenever she makes the offer to take over the Afterlife, because she knows she has to leave or lose Judy forever. Even if she's dying. Even if they don't have much time. She'll give Judy the best of her last days. (And maybe between the two of them they can come up with a plan to save Val.)
