Quick closing valves or drop valves are spring loaded type which are used on FO and LO tanks and lines to quickly isolate them in case of an emergency. They are remotely activated, usually from Fire Control Station and they can be pneumatically or hydraulically operates. For smaller tanks, like for Emergency Generator fuel tank, they can be wire connected and operated from outside generator room.
