Felt like I want to make some sort of draft or animatic of a "Meet the" vid of Seafarer so I could PROBABLY probably animate it in 3d if and when I know how to do it (mainly bc I keep having random ideas that I want to do so I wont forget and that I wanna do something). Though I could not decide on which storyboard concept I could use for the intro part (im indecisive... mostly 😭)

Good afternoon, dear logbook.

Today was a fairly mundane and easygoing day. Just one ship to take on for today and a little bit of cleaning on the aft deck before I finished up the little wooden model I bought yesterday. After which I decided to stretch my legs by going down to the beach near the local fortress. I managed to bring back two beautiful shells from the beach there since it was low tide this time of day.

There's not much to report on at the moment, as we're all standing by on whether we can go to sea soon for a big job out there on the waves.

I sadly will be without a stable connection so far from land though, so should that time come, rest assured that the logs will be filed into this journal as soon as possible.

But until then, I'll continue to post a new entry on the daily.

Something I'm really struggling to learn is that I don't have to go to work sick.

Onboard, I was in a managerial position, the only supervisor of an office of two, right under the Hotel Director. For those of you unfamiliar with cruise ships hierarchy, it means I didn't have anyone above me between myself and one of the big three: Captain, Engine Director and Hotel Director.

I went to work with IV tubes in my arm because of extreme dehydration that made me faint; I went to work with my hands shaking with fever; I went to work every single day without fault, no matter how I was feeling.

Now I'm working shoreside (always in shipping) and this morning I went to work with severe cervical pain that evolved into a migraine, nausea, vomiting and photosensitivity - my colleagues were flabbergasted: they were shocked that I would stand up, go vomit because of the pain, come back shaking to my desk and still do my job and do it well. They sent me home once it was time for the lunch break and to me it's still... Wild. I have the right to be sick and just... Stay home.

Wow. So.

That was a lot.

Over the past two and a half months I’ve made more full illustrations than I have since 2020. I want to thank you all for joining me on this journey as I frantically crunched to get all the merch I needed made for my first ever con circuit. I’m incredibly lucky to have gotten all the support I did. With the donations I received during my donothon and the preorders people have made on Ko-Fi, although I did have to take funds out of a few of my own savings goals, I was able to afford printing 11 prints in 2 different sizes, 47 buttons, 18 charms, and 6 stickers.

Too much for my first con circuit? Too little? I’m not sure, but I thank every one of you for giving me the opportunity to open a new way for me to turn my little art hobby into a job that I can truly look forward to every day.

I’m just going to small cons this year and due to body image issues and social anxiety, I won’t be announcing which cons I’m attending, but I’ll work my way up to being confident enough to let you all know where I’ll be in the next few years. But if you happen to run into me, feel free to say hi. I can’t promise I’d be able to properly articulate how much it means to me to see you, those interactions have always gone badly in the past, but I’ll try.

Here’s to the next chapter in my path to becoming a self-sustaining artist.
