Screw AI! REAL ARTISTS FOREVER!
35 notes · View notes
Absolutely fascinated by all the people who claim that AI and fanfiction are legally and conceptually indistinguishable, and advocating against one means advocating against the other. Can't tell if they actually think human work is inseparable from that created by machines or if they want us to believe they think that so they have an excuse to keep using AI to steal from living, breathing writers (including fanfic writers) and spew their endless garbage. I never want to find out.

The only good thing to come put of AI is that I'm more inspired than ever to learn to draw.

I'm now on InkBlot! With all this new bs going on here on tumblr, it's made me wary, so I'm slowly migrating and finding other platforms to post. InkBlot seemed pretty promising so far, so I'll be there too :)

The Screw AI parade continues!
This piece is of one of my mostest bestest peoples in the whole stupid planet
He requested the 2D Dreamworks style, think Road to El Dorado.
His character design is like that with a bit of Treasure Planet mixed in for good measure.
You still have 4 hours to get the mega sale ($35) before the regular sale ($50, still a discount!) so message me now and get your style on~~~

(Tw: rant about AI)
Honestly just screw AI. I hate the fact that every other ad that pops up on youtube is about AI music or some stupid AI app that "lets you interact with your favorite cahracters and date them!". I hate AI art, I hate the fact that now I have to check each Ao3 fic I click on cause it might have not been written by a human, I hate that big companies want to use AI for everything and are basically killing artists in every field, I hate that my school is actually telling me and other students that we can use AI for research as an actual source.
AI is killing art, all types of art. Writting, drawing, painting, playing music, singing, voice acting; you name it.
I hate that people have to specify that their work was not done by AI. I hate that AI is trying to takee iver everyone's lifes, and I mean everyone's lifes, from big companies that want their advertising to be done quicker and cheaper to students that are struggling with their school essays, passing through people who just really like roleplaying or that are starved for content of a character they really like.
So yeah screw AI. All it does is steal. Sadly, I don't really know how to really fight back apart from supporting small creators and artists. Human artists and creators.
We still need a real way to fight back.

Frye is carrying me to bed now.😊
Stay tune for my Bluesky. Twitter just ain't the same. Musk is a full on idiot. I'm still waiting for Twitter to break bigtime again this month. C'mon. I need to be prepared. Also, any "hot girl" bots who keep bothering me, just remember I have a girlfriend who won't be happy about your actions.😐
I'm talking to the bots by the way.😁
But yeah, I hope you guys can protect me on Bluesky. I hear it's invite only so that will probably help with keeping the pervs, crypto bots, and s*x bots away from me. This is mainly what sucks about being a small creator. Good thing there's a lot of real people who love my work.🥹
Thanks for all the support throughout the years guys. Well goodnight.❤️

I'm so fucking pissed. I paid an artist I thought I trusted to make my album art for this project and they made nothing and gave me fucking ai art. It looks ugly as shit and I can't get a refund.

just go and support real artist!!!! it's bad enough that corporate companies are using AI art to put professional artist out of their jobs but there's a deeper betrayal of using it for creating fanart and slipping into fandom spaces! its really just dismissing actual artists who draw because they love a pairing/show/book. i'm not supporting any of it!!! full stop

Okay, look, they talk to a Google rep in some of the video clips, but I give it a pass because this FREE course is a good baseline for personal internet safety that so many people just do not seem to have anymore. It's done in short video clip and article format (the videos average about a minute and a half). This is some super basic stuff like "What is PII and why you shouldn't put it on your twitter" and "what is a phishing scam?" Or "what is the difference between HTTP and HTTPS and why do you care?"
It's worrying to me how many people I meet or see online who just do not know even these absolute basic things, who are at constant risk of being scammed or hacked and losing everything. People who barely know how to turn their own computers on because corporations have made everything a proprietary app or exclusive hardware option that you must pay constant fees just to use. Especially young, somewhat isolated people who have never known a different world and don't realize they are being conditioned to be metaphorical prey animals in the digital landscape.
Anyway, this isn't the best internet safety course but it's free and easy to access. Gotta start somewhere.
Here's another short, easy, free online course about personal cyber security (GCFGlobal.org Introduction to Internet Safety)
Bonus videos:
youtube
(Jul 13, 2023, runtime 15:29)
"He didn't have anything to hide, he didn't do anything wrong, anything illegal, and yet he was still punished."
youtube
(Apr 20, 2023; runtime 9:24 minutes)
"At least 60% use their name or date of birth as a password, and that's something you should never do."
youtube
(March 4, 2020, runtime 11:18 minutes)
"Crossing the road safely is a basic life skill that every parent teaches their kids. I believe that cyber skills are the 21st century equivalent of road safety in the 20th century."
