People want to snark about how Nick was a terrible red Ranger and come up with all these ideas and shit why, but they don't want to acknowledge that Jack had his moments of being a jackass, too (like Messenger Part 1 where he basically called Boom an idiot and dismissed everyone about radio signals being transmitted from the future) and the fact that Scott was just an AWFUL red Ranger. All he ever did was go around saying "respect me, respect me, respect me" but he never did anything to earn their respect.

Summary: Billy keeps getting dreams that don't feel like dreams in the aftermath of getting into a verbal fight with Skull, followed by a monster smashing him so hard into a wall that the punk fell into a coma. They were too detailed and the environment felt too much like that time he and his team walked out of Drakkon's make believe world and out into the very ether of the Morphin Grid. "Why do I have to come back again? What do I have to learn?" The questions shouldn't sting so much after the second time he asks Billy, dressed in a hospital gown and draped in orange light like a sundown. Looking so tired and resigned and eyes all wide and wet. But then, Billy actually thinks about it, looks into all the stuff he's missed out on since falling out of Skull's orbit (abandoning him) and begins to feel like he can't breathe: going through Skull's overly full medicine cabinet, helping the nurses in the hospital bathe the blood and sweat off of the scars decorating his back and arms and legs, talking with Bulk about how thin Skull is because his family is always gone and not a lot of people were willing to hire him for odd jobs. What could Billy answer with that could make Eugene (come back) stay?

The Pale Blue Eye stars Christian Bale as Detective Augustus Landor and Harry Melling as Edgar Allan Poe. The film is based on the Louis Bayard novel of the same name. Scott Cooper is serving as writer and director.

The Pale Blue Eye hits select theaters on December 23, 2022, and Netflix on January 6, 2023.

Day 6 (See video above!)

Hi everyone! My name is Snehaa and I'm really excited to take you through our day. Unlike the past few days, today was primarily dedicated to traveling. Quite literally our itinerary was

Lollygag for 3 hours

Go to the airport

Fly to Aurangabad

I wanted my blog day to be as interesting as the past 5, and felt that this day didn't quite lend itself to an entertaining blog. I asked Sagar to let me have a different day, but he said no (obviously). So, I decided that even if we were going to do a whole lot of nothing today, I'd do my best to make it look as fun as the past 5 days.

Starting off strong, here's a pile of suitcases. Riveting stuff:

As the hotel gathered our things for storage, we began to devise a plan to kill 3 hours before heading to the airport. A lot of us did work on our brand consulting projects for Landor & Fitch. I think we're all starting to get excited about and engrossed with our ideas.

After a solid 1 hour of researching, we treated ourselves to the hotel lunch. As you can see here, we're definitely 1000% immersing ourselves in Indian culture...

For a veggie burger, I thought it was pretty solid.

The group loaded onto the bus and headed off to the domestic airport, which we quickly learned was intense, crowded, and small. However, this group of 12 has become a power team of sorts, so we navigated to our gate with minimal issues. Although, quick RIP to Gauravi's nail clippers.

Sagar and Teddy also met a famous Indian YouTuber at the airport! Hopefully we'll get that picture soon for you guys.

Ben, Kaitlin, and I decided to interview a family at the airport to get some insight on our project, but later resorted to goofing around at a snack shop.

Our flight was delayed for a little while so I decided to get some of our group together and do an outfit check!

I clipped it together so you could see the silliest moments from each person's video.

We took off a few minutes later, and arrived in Aurangabad within an hour.

We headed out to our bus where we were greeted with beautiful flower garlands from our hosts. I also strung together a quick video for that, but Tumblr only lets you upload one video per post so I'll attach it above this. Consider it a teaser trailer for this post! Also definitely watch it it's really cute.

After a long day of productive lollygagging, we made it to the Lemon Tree Hotel. When we arrived, Sagar withheld my room key and said I couldn't get it back unless I went up to an employee and asked where I could find the lemon tree so I could make some lemonade. I'm starting to think the authority is getting to his head. But don't worry, I'm concocting plans to get back at him while we're at the caves tomorrow.

We wound down with a great dinner at the hotel café. Scott, Finn, and Teddy got to break in the beautiful pool that spans across the courtyard.

All of us are loving the hotel and are looking forward to seeing what Aurangabad has in store for us tomorrow. We have an early morning so I'm going to stop writing and sleep now. Hope you enjoyed coming along with us on our travel day!

The Pale Blue Eye - My thoughts

As a sucker for murder mysteries, the trailer for The Pale Blue Eye caught my eye. It helps that Christian Bale was in the lead and Scott Cooper was directing. I think Out of The Furnace is one of Bale's most underrated performances, as is Hostiles. The Pale Blue Eye feels the most commercially accessible of Scott Cooper's films. Overall, its a fairly well made, interesting mystery, with a twist that you can predict if you are paying attention, bolstered by two stellar lead performances.

This is undoubtedly a slow burn murder mystery. It takes its time introducing the characters and establishing the dynamic between Landor and Poe. The film does a good job of establishing the odd nature of Poe and then establishing the relationship dynamic between Poe and Landor. Its the moments between the major scenes which give the film its flavor. Poe is verbose and strange whereas Landor is a very Christian Bale character. He says and does a lot with his eyes. You can tell he's smart but he's not a Sherlock Holmes/Hercules Poirot/Benoit Blanc type detective who openly brandish their smarts. As always, there is a mysterious nature to his character.

If there is a flaw to the film, it is that the actual mystery is not very difficult to decipher if you pay attention. I think the film gives some fairly obvious clues that at least put you on the path to figuring out the mystery. And it honestly would have been a bigger issue if the film wasn't anchored by two excellent performances. Christian Bale being great in a role like this is so expected that I think people don't appreciate it enough. He's a master of delivering a performance without saying too much. He delivers a character who has got a painful past but he doesn't brandish it at any point. You also see his growing affection for Poe just with his microexpressions. Matching him toe to toe in a much showier role is Henry Melling as Edgar Allen Poe. He has to be simultaneously likable, weird, and a bit creepy and he nails it all. He has to share a lot of scenes with Bale and given he leaves a big impression, that's a big credit to him. Other notable performances are Toby Jones, Gillian Anderson, and Lucy Boynton as Marquis family members. Gillian Anderson doesn't get a very big role to flex but Toby Jones and Lucy Boynton leave an impression.

Overall, a pretty interesting movie. Certainly worth watch. An 8/10
