18+ MINORS AND THOSE WITHOUT AGE IN BIO DNI

warnings: swearing, mention of drinking, mention of...flashing
AN: I don't think anything spoilery is gonna be in this. Honestly cuz we all know he's a spy. it's in the trailer. so we're just gonna go with it. Also happy Mardi Gras!
Aidan and I walked down the street, lugging our suitcases behind us. I felt so jet lagged that I was relying fully on Aidan to get us to where we needed to go. Until I didn't realize that he had stopped walking and face planted right into his back.
"Come on man." I grumbled as I stepped to the side of him. "What's wrong? What could possibly be your problem?" I asked when he refused to move.
"Do you not realize where they put us up?" He asked. "And what day it is?" I shook my head. Aidan sighed. "(Y/N), it’s Mardi Gras today. And we're staying at the hotel royal." I stood there staring at him as he shook his head at me. “There’s gotta be somewhere else we can go. There’s gotta be.”
“Aidan. Hey Aidan.” I snapped my fingers in his face and he jerked back. “Let’s just check in and do this job and go home. I’m not in the mood for any of this and I just want to sleep right now. We can figure this out later yeah?” Aidan nodded and followed me into the hotel. A few hours after my head touched the pillow, I jolted awake at the sound coming from outside. Aidan bolted upright in the bed next to me.
“Fuck.” He groaned before walking over to look out the window. Climbing onto the balcony, Aidan laughed as he took in the display. “Hey (Y/N) check this out. Oh baby.” Aidan cheered.
“what?” I groaned as I climbed out next to him. “Oh shit. That’s a parade.” I laughed. The parade was in full swing, music blasting and everyone dancing and drinking in the streets. “Whoa!” I cried when the women on the floats lifted their shirts. Aidan cheered as they passed by, goofy smile in place the entire time. “Really Aidan? Really?”
“hey I am a man after all.” He teased me. He put his hands on my waist and slipped his thumbs under my shirt. “I wouldn’t complain if you were to…you know. Then youd have no reason to be jealous.” I gently swat at his chest.
“asshole.” I laughed. Aidan smiled at me and turned back towards the parade.
“hey. I have an idea.” Aidan laughed. I turned to look at him while he lifted his shirt up. Doubling over, I started laughing. Beads were thrown up onto the balcony and Aidan dropped his shirt. When I straightened up, he dropped a couple of the necklaces around my neck. “There. Now we’re dressed for the festivities.” I leaned into him as we continued watching the parade.
“I think we’re over dressed.” I laughed as I pointed down at the crowd that was slowly starting to show more and more signs of drunk amusement.
“I think you’re right.” Aidan laughed. “Whoa!” He covered my eyes as a man on the float flashed us as he passed by. “Maybe this wasn’t such a bad idea after all.” I smiled at him and nodded as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

Please go watch Argylle!
I don’t imagine it’s going to do well at the box office, which, like…. Stinky.
Henry Cavill is not the main character but he shows up a lot!
If you want to see Sam Rockwell be a goof in a Kingsman-adjacent universe and see a midsize woman kick ass, please go! The movie is long because SO MUCH HAPPENS. I like the soundtrack too!
Pleaseeeee!

Mordor claims Sam was in Los Angeles but he looked pretty tanned in today's video. Do you have any guesses about where they were last week? Oh, a little detail here: S's got tanned, not artificially orange. That's a vice he doesn't have, thank god.
Dear Guess Anon,
Guesses are not exactly how this page works and I found myself increasingly disinterested in that solitary sport, lately. I am very glad to see him tanned, because that means he had very recent quality time, perhaps in a sunny spot: I mean, it's only logical 😉. Right?
As for the rest, I imagine we both know why you ask this question, Anon. But let me remind you three -perhaps disconnected - things:
A good witch never reveals her tricks.
If you cast a spell, you should immediately let go of it, if you want it to work.
And...
Tumblr media
You all know, by now, how much I ❤️ Norman Rockwell, right?
I am sure other Tumblr outlets are very good at guesses, that being said. Some are even (not so) good at fanfic. But that is another problem and hopefully not mine.

The greatest missed opportunity in Argylle, which many have already mentioned, is actually threefold.
Henry Cavill did not make out with John Cena, yes, but also...
Henry Cavill did not make out with Sam Rockwell...
Bryce Dallas-Howard did not make out with John Cena...
Imagine if Argylle had been as brave as Sense8.

About Darren Criss
Since bursting onto the pop-culture landscape over a decade ago, Darren Criss has embodied the kind of kaleidoscopic artistry that’s entirely uninhibited by form or genre. The multi-hyphenates illustrious career spans television, film, music and stage.
Last year, Criss shared the Broadway stage opposite Sam Rockwell and Laurence Fishburne in “American Buffalo,” which received a Tony Award-nomination for Best Revival of a Play. He also co-hosted “The Tony Awards: Act One” with Julianne Hough. The duo kicked off their hosting duties with a rousing performance of singing and dancing to an original tune written by Criss, titled “Set The Stage.” In 2015, he returned to the stage as Hedwig in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” In the titular role, critics alike raved, including The New York Timescalling his performance “mesmerizing.” He made his Broadway debut in 2012 as J. Pierrepont Finch in “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying.” With Criss at the helm, the revival made just under $4 million, which proved to be the most lucrative three weeks of its 11-month run.
His portrayal of Andrew Cunanan in Ryan Murphy’s award-winning television series “American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace” was met with widespread critical acclaim, earning Criss a Primetime Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors’ Guild Award and Critics’ Choice Award. Known for playing Blaine Anderson on FOX’s global phenomenon “Glee,” he was nominated for two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. He also received an Emmy Award nomination in 2015 for Best Original Music and Lyrics for the song “This Time,” which appeared in the series finale.
As a singer and songwriter, Criss released his first-ever holiday album entitled “A Very Darren Crissmas” on Decca Records in 2021. In it, he brought his radiant imagination and encyclopedic musical knowledge to a wildly eclectic collection of songs: big-band standards and novelty tunes, mid-century musical numbers and modern-day folk-pop ballads. Criss’ original track “Drunk on Christmas” featuring country chart-topper Lainey Wilson, showcased his effortless ingenuity as a songwriter. The result is an essential new entry into the holiday-music canon, both thrillingly unpredictable and touched with a timeless sense of Christmas magic. Made with Ron Fair, multi-Grammy® nominee and producer of numerous GRAMMY-winning hits, “A Very Darren Crissmas” also featured special guest appearances by Adam Lambert and Evan Rachel Wood.
“A Very Darren Crissmas” was only the latest evidence of Criss’ singular gifts as a song interpreter. In 2021, he delivered a collection of character-driven singles as part of his solo EP titled “Masquerade” (BMG). In 2017, his EP “Homework” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Album chart and in the same year, introduced his indie-pop band Computer Games. Through the years he’s also written songs for the comedy musical “Royalties,” “Central Park,” co-wrote “Starting Now” for Disney and performed by Brandy, and headlined the iHeartRadio Music Festival with Steve Aoki.
Prior to his television career, the San Francisco native pursued his acting degree at the University of Michigan. In his senior year, Criss and his friends created a Harry Potter musical parody entitled, “A Very Potter Musical” as a fun project for their classmates, friends and other Harry Potter fans. Along with starring as the boy wizard himself, Criss also lent several of his songs to be used in the show. Within weeks of posting the musical online, it became a YouTube hit, garnering millions of views and musical theater‐world attention.
Using “A Very Potter Musical” as a springboard, Criss and his writing partners started StarKid Productions. Within a year, they wrote and produced subsequent online hits like “Starship” and “A Very Potter Sequel,” both of which he wrote the music and lyrics for. As a result, the StarKid brand has grown to become just as popular as the shows themselves, spawning an enormous cult following from all over the world.
Criss and StarKid Productions appeared on the Billboard charts through four separate releases – all within the year 2012. These include the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Cast Album for “Starship,” the #19 spot on the Top Compilations chart for “A Very StarKid Album,” and the #30 spot on Billboard's Heatseekers chart with Criss’ self‐released EP “Human.”
Criss’ credits include host of ABC’s “The Queen Family Singalong,” “Muppets Haunted Mansion,” “Midway,” “Girl Most Likely,” “American Horror Story,” “Web Therapy,” and “Eastwick.” He is also the founder of New York City’s first show tunes music festival, Elsie Fest.

Honestly, so much of this movie relies on its twists, so I’m struggling to figure out how to talk about it. For a brand new movie like this, I don’t want to spoil it for readers who haven’t seen the movie.
I can tell you that the book wasn’t wasn’t written by Taylor Swift, though?
Ellie Conway is the successful author of the bestselling Argylle series, a sequence of spy thriller novels that have captivated the world. Ellie herself, though, is mostly a recluse, with a small social circle, an anxious disposition, and lives alone with her cat, Alfie. She’s struggling to write an end for the series, so she books a train for herself and Alfie to her parents’ house for a brainstorming session. But on the way, Ellie meets a supposed spy, Aiden, that tells her stories are eerily accurate reflections of an actual, real-life conspiracy in the intelligence community. And now some actual bad guys are after her, and Aiden’s the only one who could save her. The line between fiction and reality gets blurry, and Ellie has to help Aiden figure out what’s actually going on.
Alright, so most of the critical conversation about this movie talk about how twisty the Plot is. And it is very twisty, because, well… that’s kind of The Point of the movie. Like many critics, I can’t help but think that it doesn’t quite all add up. At the end of the day, I’m scratching my head, thinking, “Wait, that was the villains’ plan? They couldn’t think of anything more effective than that?” I also suspect that there will come a point when the viewer will see some of the twists right before they happen.
That being said, I think if you can say to yourself, “Alright, this movie is built on ridiculous twists–so bring it on,” you will have a much better time. I certainly did.
This being a Matthew Vaughn film, there are pretty great action scenes throughout the movie. It’s not John Wick, no, but it’s stylish, cool, and fun to watch. Towards the end you get some fight scenes that are truly ridiculous, and they’re lovely like that. It reminds me of some of the great fight scenes in the Kingsman movies.
One thing that felt a bit odd was the marketing of the film. The first few minutes are featured heavily in trailers, despite them being a version of the action from the book Ellie Conway wrote, rather than an actual event occurring in Ellie’s life. It’s fine that the sequence is there, because it is actually relevant, and it’s great fun. Still, it felt very weird that it took up so much of the marketing, with Dua Lipa being on the poster for the movie when she’s barely in it.
Henry Cavill is one of the people from that opening sequence, and he continues to be through the movie as an active piece of Ellie’s imagination. And he is delightful, honestly. The man is clearly having a blast with his ridiculous haircut and over-the-top fight scenes, and I say that we should let him continue having a blast with roles like this.
Honestly, the rest of the cast looked like they were having fun, too. Notably, Bryce Dallas Howard gets to do an active part of action scenes! I don’t know how often she does that, so it’s quite fun. Sam Rockwell gets to be a bit silly as a spy who is supremely competent but absolutely tired of all of this crap and would rather Ellie listen to his instructions, thank you very much.
And the cat! I was fond of Alfie the cat! However! I was less fond of how much of the cat is computer-generated in this movie. I get that for the stunts he’s got to be CGI; they’re not going to put a real cat in danger (especially because he’s played by the director’s wife’s cat). There are still scenes, like one in which he’s on the desk in a hotel room, where he’s quite obviously CGI and it’s distracting.
All in all, it’s a fun movie, though it’s not anywhere near as clever as it thinks it is. There’s too many twists that don’t add up. But if you manage to let go and let yourself have a fun time with a ridiculous spy movie, that mostly knows that it’s a ridiculous spy movie, then you’ll have a good time watching this movie.

Went to see Argylle again. Sadly with German dubbing again because the distributor messed up.
Spoiler warning under the cut.
Looking at the story more through Aidan's perspective is interesting. The film might be convoluted and quite unrealistic, but it is well thought out.
Another thing I noticed more: if not for the excellent Sam Rockwell und how Aidan is written, this could have been very creepy. Imagine someone observing you from afar for 5 years. But they find the right balance: he's careful, keeps his distance and only tells her of his feelings once she's starting to remember things.

song: Mamma Mia by ABBA
warnings: Swearing, Aidan is upset with reader
"Oh come on Aidan." I said with a laugh. "It wasn't that bad." Aidan stopped walking away and turned towards me. Giving me a hard stare, he turned around again before he said anything. "Aidan!"
"Just fucking stop (Y/N)." He said. I paused and my smile fell. "Leave me alone for a bit alright?"
"I don't understand." I murmured. Aidan rubbed his forehead.
"That's part of the problem." He sighed. "Just...just stay here. I need to get some air." Aidan walked out the door and I stood in the middle of the room, confused by what was going on. I turned back to the apartment and decided to get some spring cleaning done. Once the music was selected and on, I started on the bookshelf. I ended up making three piles, one to keep, one to get rid of and one to ask Aidan about when he came home. I sighed as I thought of him. Not long after I glanced at the clock Aidan walked in the door. I turned to look at him and he gave me a small smile.
"Hey." I said softly. He walked over and stood next to me.
"Hey." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. “What’s all this?” I shrugged.
“spring cleaning.” Aidan nodded. He offered me a hand to help me up and I ignored it. Aidan watched as I got up myself and frowned when I stood before him, arms wrapped around my waist. “didn’t expect you back so soon.” Aidan nodded reaching out for my hand as the song changed. I let him take it and swayed gently with him.
“yeah well.” He shrugged. “I did some thinking.” I hummed as Aidan put his hands on my waist. “And maybe you were right. It wasn’t that bad of a prank. I’m just a little…you know…” I nodded.
“high strung.” I said. “I am too sometimes.” I agreed with him. Aidan leaned into me until his head was resting on my shoulder. “That’s why I thought I’d prank you. But I’ll admit I may have…misjudged.” Aidan kissed my throat.
“and I may have overreacted.” Aidan said softly. I buried my face in the back of his neck. “Talk it out next time?”
“yeah.” I confirmed. “Missed you.” Aidan smiled against my throat and spun us around.
“missed you too.” Aidan said, pulling back. “Should never have walked out. No matter how upset I was.” I cupped his cheek and smiled at him.
“you did what you had to do.” I said. “I know you don’t agree but Aidan, I’d rather you walk out than start a screaming match.” He pulled me to him tightly.
“I could never.” He whispered. I hugged him back tightly.
“now if that’s that…” I said, pulling away from him. “Help me figure this out?” Aidan nodded before kissing me.
“of course.” He said with a smile.

Imagine Phantom Liberty was advertised not as depressing spy thriller but ah goofy spy comedy, basically this but Cyberpunk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mgu9mNZ8Hk
Firstly, can I say this is the first movie since Rogue One I am excited to see come out?
Secondly, I can kinda see the similar scenes to some of those from the trailer. I can easily see Bryce Dallas Howard's character being replaced with Aurore, for example, and Matthew Vaughn being V (masc), or maybe Reed. The scene where everyone points their guns at Matthew Vaughn is reminiscent of the 'the game is fixed' scene from the trailer.
Aurore strikes me as the kind of woman who would write a 'fictional' story that's just dramatisations of her life. She has a penchant for embellishment. Sam Rockwell is obviously Aymeric, playing a straight man role to balance out Aurore.

Writer Self-Rec Fics Ask GameRules: writers list your top 5 favorite fics of yours and then send this to 5 writers! :)
Oh god, it took me quite a while, right? x'D It's always so hard to choose from my own stuff, not because I hate my writing or something, but... Just hard xDD
I decided to chose from the latest ones, because I don't think anyone is interested in my Sam Rockwell characters' stuff (if you are, please check Masterlist 2018, 2019, 2020 and a bit of 2021)
So, in no particular order and only based on how I feel:
The Warmest Weekend (BJ Rose x f!Reader) - I love how easy it was to write and to imagine, and it makes me feel warm and good.
Sweetheart (Shane Walsh x Reader) - written to comfort myself, so of course it's kinda special for me.
Monsters in the Dark (vampire!Braxton Wolff x f!Reader) - I'm very soft for him :')
Who Cares? - Eddie Munson x virgin!f!reader - not a Jon Bernthal character for a change. Eddie makes me remember my younger self.
Moonlight Blossom (The Mute x f!Reader) - back to Jon's character, oops :') I LOVED writing this <3
That's it, thank you for thinking of me @darlingshane :))

Similar vein to @dream-a-little-dreaam amazing new fic premise, has anybody seen Mr. Right with Anna Kendrick & Sam Rockwell? I’d had this in my list of fic ideas but open to anybody if they’d like to run with it!
The premise is these two meet and immediately hit it off, but he’s secretly a hitman and people are trying to kill him the whole time. Eventually she catches on, and IMMEDIATELY goes to bat for him/with him and is just basically equally insane lol I love the idea of a dark but silly version of Lexi that just drops everything and joins her man in murder plots lol
Basically imagine Fez in badass fights and doing THE MOST to protect him and Lexi, and Lexi would just pop up and shoot someone and then ask Fez if he’d still love her if she were a worm. That’s the vibe.

Text: Never in my wildest dreams did I believe I would be given the chance to honor Jonathan Larson and his legacy of revolutionary art and community healing through this heart-filled movie Tick, Tick...Boom!. By bestowing this recognition upon me, you honor our genius director Lin-Manuel Miranda, our producers Julie Larson, Julie Oh and Celia Costas, the entire cast and crew, and everyone at Imagine and Netflix. We are a true family to our core. To be among 26 leading male performances to be nominated for an Oscar for their work in a Musical, and to be initiated into that group with the likes of Bing Crosby, Roy Scheider, Gene Kelly and James Cagney, I am deeply humbled.
